Comment: I signed a lease yesterday with Phil in Menifee. I had an online rate for $87 per month. Phil told me that the rate may go up but it shouldn’t be any more than $10. I signed on to my online account and I’m seeing that as if July 1st my monthly rate will be $194 for a5x15 unit. This is awful. I called and spoke to a Dean (I think) and was told that I got the unit for the first month free but then the market rate is $194. I asked about my $87 per month rate and was told I didn’t get that. This company is awful and I feel untruthful. DO NOT USE!Update!!! I just received a VM from Courtney who confirmed that my rate was what I originally said. She saw this review and stuff done digging and corrected my rate.I wanted anyone who read this review to see that they did correct the error.

Comment: Had to change my rating! Moved out on time 10 months ago, 10 months later I noticed a ding on my credit report for 140.00 dollars from prime storage. Called and was told by Steve that I moved out with a credit and his district manager would be in touch with me. Heard nothing from district manager so I called back 2 days later and was informed that I moved out 2 days past move out date asked to speak to district manager still waiting to hear from him over 1 week later. Was never informed I owed them money they sent directly to collections. Shame on you guys!!!!

Comment: I’m currently storing my stuff at this place and i have to say that it is not safe.I drive up to my storage to find out that they have broken into it and token some of my stuff that were extremely value able and left behind some stuff. Makes no sense on how this could’ve happened. So please do not use this place to store your stuff! I go talk to the manager and all of a sudden the whole system is down and couldn’t help me with filing a claim nor looking into the cameras to see if they can review them. I believe you ya an inside jobs and these people are stealing from the storage units and closing the doors and making it seem like nothing.Again don’t use this place or trust it!!!

The problem I had is when I went in to ask for the info to get in, I was told since you didnt put a lock on it we cancelled your account I was never Informed of this no contact at all. This facility fails at the most basic level of business... communication. This was not the first time... and thats why I moved to different storage place. One that communicates with thier customers.

The role up doors are so hard to open, it takes two people to open your unit door. The lady in the office Debbie is a full on bully narcissist. She called me on my cell phone to tell me I was spending to much time at my storage unloading. She insisted I could only take 30 min. and then leave. She would lock me out of my unit if I was one day late with rent, and their prices are to high. I left and will never go back. Do not rent from these people, especially if Debbie is working there.

Comment: My unit was broken into lock not cut someone picked lock or climbed over the top of wall . No one at facility knew this happened until I came to empty my storage unit. over 20,000$ worth of art and collectibles were stolen not to mention the irreplaceable family pictures and memories . I reported this incident just about two weeks ago and still haven’t received a phone call about this from management or owner or insurance nothing . As I was there to close out my account another person was reporting the same issue . This place is a joke and you have some serious internal issues that need to be remedied . I pay to keep my personal affects safe from the elements weather and scumbags and you failed to do so . By the odds of this happening here I wouldn’t be surprised there is enough people this has happened to file a class action on this facility . Absolute garbage my life’s collection my life’s memories gone because this facility fails to do its job that they were paid to do . Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this place unless you don’t care about your belongings . I Wasn’t even going to post a review because I knew I would rant,but you sent the email asking for a review so here it is. This just shows how disconnected this place is from what is happing at their facilities.

Comment: I reserved a unit online and the set up was very simple and user friendly. I’m not the greatest with computers or technology so that was great that it was very easy to map through the set up process. Once I paid for the unit online I received a call from their office telling me to stop by their office to receive the gate code. When I showed up the location seemed very clean and in a good area where I wouldn’t have to worry about a storage break in. I spoke with Debbie who was super kind and helpful. She made the visit to their office very enjoyable and easy. Overall layout of the units easy to navigate through and the unit was cleaned and maintained. Ready for move in. I didn’t get any weird vibes or shadiness at any part of the process. I love that it’s accessible until 10pm 365 days a year. Overall I’m glad I chose this location for a storage unit and would recommend to any one local looking for a storage.

Comment: Beware! I am shopping for new storage and called this place because they stated they had a storage unit available for my RV. I let the guy I know I was interested in storing but I wanted to check out the facility first. The gentleman on the phone stated that he recommend I reserve it because they only had one unit. I asked if I reserve it and I dont like the unit will I get my reservation fee back. He assured me I will. The same day I went over to the unit to look at the spot. The girl at the front desk stated that Her computer was down and she wasnt sure what spot I was in. I explained to her that I was told there is only one available. She still didnt know which one it was. I then let her know they I was not impressed and would like my reservation fee back. She said I had to call back in. When I called the person answered said they couldnt help me and they would have a manager call. The manager finally called and said they dont do refunds. I explained how I stated several times I wanted to check out the security and unit before I rented and was assured I could get a refund if needed. She said they dont do that. She said she would get back to me but hasnt yet. Shame on me for believing the gentleman on the phone. They blatantly lied and then they provided horrible customer service. I would not recommend doing business with a company like this.

Comment: After storing my RV here for almost 5 years, I am sad to say that under new ownership means a higher payment and bad customer service. I was storing my RV when they were previously Champion Storage and when the buy out happened, which is now Prime Storage the rent went up $50 overnight and an additional $13 for insurance. The Storage manager onsite told me this was due to price increase, thats not a price increase thats a price gouge. The office was always open during business hours and now its always locked and no one is there. I wish I could keep my trailer here since the location made it so convenient, but with over inflated costs and very poor customer service, this wont be an option.

Comment: Great customer service. Clean facility. Loyal to the community! The reason for the 3 stars is due to the high cost of storage that has doubled in price since new ownership, and during a time when Americans are struggling financially after/while trying to come back from a pandemic.

Comment: They ended up throwing away my couches, granted I was late. They said I had until march 3rd to make the payment and they threw them out 2 weeks before the date. Make sure you don’t catch Covid that has you out of work with unpaid leave and go to your settings that allows unsaved calls because they’ll make the executive decision to throw out your stuff before the payment date that they give you

Comment: This was Champion storage a month ago then it was purchased by Prime. My monthly rate was 137 for a 10x10 however when Prime took over my rate went to around 245.00 a month including a mandatory 13.00 insurance policy. Needless to say, I immediately moved out due to the doubling of my rate. I can’t say how good Prime is but I never had a problem with the facility in the 7 yrs with Champion. This was too much of a increase fo me

Comment: This is, without a doubt, the worst storage unit Ive ever owned in my life.The owners view the storage complex as their fiefdom, which they rule with an iron fist, rather than a business that serves customers. On top of this complaint, which will be discussed below, they ALSO wash the doors of their storage units with a pressure washer which forces water under the door and will damage anything you have thats near the door. This may have been something they did intentionally just to me rather than a common practice. My crime? Tailgating another customer into the property because I didnt have access due to a mistake in their billing system.On my very first month, I was one day late with my payment (because they didnt invoice me due to a self-admitted mistake in their system).So when I wentto put my code in, it didnt work. I then tailgated a customer in to access my property in their unit (I store inventory for my business there). The owner of the site then drove over to my unit to harass me and order me to leave. The owner then threatened to call the police on me if I didnt leave. Im a customer, paying money to them to store my belongings, and he threatened to call the police on me because his business failed to invoice me.Keep in mind, Im a paying customer that didnt receive an invoice due to THEIR mistake. I was unable to access my inventory that day and as a result missed sending out over a dozen orders that were due to go out that day.Fast forward to a few weeks ago, and this time I tailgate another customer in even though Im paid in full just because Im in a hurry. Again, the owners come out to harass me and in violation of their own agreement, tell me to leave the storage unit. I tell them Im working on ending my business with them (but am waiting for another unit to open up closer to me).In response to this, the owners then marks me as moving out, despite me never telling them I was moving out at all, and prohibits me from paying online so they can restrict access to my belongings illegally.I will be bringing legal action against this company as a result of their illegal behavior.Please dont use this storage company, use anyone else in the area.

Comment: I have two storage areas at Champion for a complicated move that is almost completed. The service and access is truly excellent and the people there are - well- just nice people! At the last step of our move, we arrived at the end of the day and Margarita stayed later than the stated hours, gave us cold water as it was sweltering. Then (dont expect this) offered us a homemade dinner! Really? Yes. Old style hospitality!

Comment: Champion Self Storage is close to Canyon Lake but is actually located in the West side of the City of Menifee neat Audie Murphy Ranch. Myself and my brother-in-law have had our storage units there for years. This place is clean, very secure and offers small and large enclosed units and covered and uncovered outside spaces for cars, boats and trailers. The very personal owners are there everyday and have an employee that helps out as well. They also provide a free moving truck to help you move in when you first sign up for a space or unit. Overall Grade A.

Comment: I stored here for over two years. I could have paid online but I pass by the facility on my way home everyday so I always go in the office. The family that works here are extremely nice 👍...They are always helpful and accompanying. Ive stored at a few other facilities around town that were not clean and did not look safe. The moment you walk in this office and see the facility you will understand the reason that everybody I know that has to use a storage facility, chooses this place.

Comment: Dont know if the blonde/gray guy here is on drugs, but the way he acts and treats his customers is utterly shocking and disgusting. One night we were literally just rearranging and moving some things around, when the son of the owner, comes marching out screaming. Then as he begins scaring my daughter and yelling at my boyfriend, my boyfriend just said ok sorry Ill get the things out of hallway I was just rearranging things. Then as Im ready to flip out he says to my boyfriend, did you roll your eyes at me??? You better never roll your eyes at me! What?! I didnt even know what to say. Not to mention, after we paid one month, and had a zero balance he asked if we could move out! What? Why?? So after my boyfriend decided to just get our stuff out, we went the very next day only to find we were locked out, and they were not answering the door or phone! Ended up calling cops. This family is criminal and reminds me of illiterate, incompetent, alcoholic hillbillies that inherited this business and think they can treat the customers like they treat their wives. Disrespectful, abusive and extremely tact less. My only thought for this company now is to get them out of business, because these are The Hills have Eyes kind of morons thatll steal your things because they think they can bully you into doing whatever they want in order to make their peon lives seem significant. Do not use this company. JUST REMEMBER you cant fight with Stupid!!
