This is easily one of the best, if not the best, metal detecting shop in the state. Al has been at for a long time and knows his stuff. This place is a real shop, not some online business without a brick and mortar presence. He has a great selection of new and used detectors and gear, and his prices are typically lower than youll find elsewhere. He also does repairs should you find yourself in need of such a service. I drive an hour and half from north of Lansing to buy from this shop and wont buy a metal detector from anywhere else as long as this shop is open.

Pro Stock Metal Detectors is the best place I have been to. I have purchased a few different ones and Al has always taken the time to show me all the features. I plan on getting another one real soon and look forward to doing business with him again. He also has all the accessories you will ever need for a great detector hunt or even if you’re into panning for gold. I’ll always go here!

I needed an AT Pro to bide me over while my existing one went back to Garrett for repairs (as an aside Garrett is exemplary in how they treat warranty repairs...you get the VIP treatment--a truly great company with equally great products that they stand behind). I detect daily so I figured having a spare machine made sense in case of future mishaps and being very satisfied with the AT Pro on both land and in the water owning two great machines seemed a no brainer.I called AL and spoke briefly...could tell from the getgo that he was a great person. I had a 45 minute drive to get there and he was working with an 88 year old gent explaining a detectors functions with patience and in a very informative manner. A full on demonstration ensued...showing the gent how different materials sounded and answering any questions. The amount of stock on hand is amazing and so too is Al...a true credit to how a businessman should treat customers.The only stupid question is one that goes unasked! This man is a dream come true in the manner in which he conducts business. I knew what I wanted and made the purchase...chatted a bit and was very impressed with his honesty and integrity.My only regret is that you are limited to 5 stars when you give a rating. He deserves 6!If you need advice, need a detector or accessories this is the place you need to go. He will be my standby should the need for anything arise and he should be yours as well. Al has a great selection of new and used detectors. I went in to buy a mid range new model and found a lightly used higher end model for about the same price. The prices are very fair. I just dont like to buy big ticket items online. I need to have them in hand to judge if i like them.And the accessories like diggers, pinpointers and scoops are all quality items.

I agree with previous posts. Al is a great guy.I bought the Garrett Ace 300 this morning and took it out by my house to learn and play. I am enjoying the heck out of it. I hit a pocket of coins next to my house that previous owners had left there. 47 coins so far and I think there are more. I dont know the ages yet as they are all corroded. I played until I was too tired to dig anymore. Thank you for hooking me up with the Garrett. I am sure I will be having fun for years to come.I am grateful for all the help in getting me started. The staff was VERY knowledgeable. The gentleman took the time to put our detector together, show my S.O. how to use it. Sent in the warranty for us. Helped choose reasonably priced accessories. Had some good deals on detectors. Steered you in the right direction if youre new to the hobby. An example was the pinpointer. They had higher price one, but one that works the best was about half the price so he took the time to explain why even if he wasnt selling as much. (Wished I had caught his name but I believe he was the owner), said if we had any questions dont hesitate to call and he would help us. He buys used detectors too, cleans and fixes them to resell. This is the place to go if youre a beginner looking to make your first purchase, or an enthusiastic hobbist. They are very patient, explains everything, answer your questions and you dont leave feeling you were rushed into your choices of equipment. He explains all the features & why he believes one piece of equipment is better than than another for the type of detecting you want to do. We are new to this hobby and look forward to a long relationship with this business.

Al is an amazing wealth of knowledge and will help anyone with any questions they have. He will help you make the correct decision for the gear best suited for your situation and budget. I highly recommend this store and its worth a drive if youre a little farther away. If he doesnt have it in stock, he can probably have it fast.

Ive had a cheap Harbor Freight metal detector for a while and used it until I became familiar enough with metal detecting to know that I was interested enough to spend the money to get a real one.I am fortunate enough to live 10 minutes away from a full service metal detector store, so I would be a fool to not at least check it out, and Im glad I did!First think you will likely notice is not the metal detectors, but that the store is practically a time capsule of all kinds of treasures, many things unique to Michigan, but all 100% Americana and a testament to Als decades of experience. Then the metal detectors, shovels, books, gold pans, more metal detectors, pick axes, more gold mining stuff, headphones, pouches, If they dont have it, you dont need it.Seldom have I been in there when it wasnt busy, and Al takes the time to give each customer his full attention. He has big poster drawings that explain different things, all kinds of different metal things tho demonstrate how a certain detector works and seems to know the strengths, weaknesses, limitations, etc of every machine he sells, and takes the time to help someone pick out a machine that is best for them.He is an honest man.Lastly, the prices of everything I I was looking for was right on par with Amazon, and he let me do a layaway. Knowing what I know now, I cant imagine why anyone within a reasonable distance would even consider buying one someplace else.

I stopped in recently to get some info for my boyfriend who wants to buy an underwater metal detector for scuba diving. Al was really helpful and informative. He explained things in a way I could understand, and gave me info on the options for underwater detectors to give to my boyfriend. He was really knowledgeable and there was a really good selection in the store.

Picked up a used Whites MXT that had some slight audio issues. Met up with Al at a local MT group meeting. Handed off the machine to him, and 3 days later he has it headed back to me all back in perfect condition, even though it was in such good shape he wanted to buy it from me, LOL. Al is a True Gentleman. We really appreciate his service and Fair pricing.
