I just picked my sister up from this God awful institution my sister wasnt well cared for. She wasnt properly cleaned and bathed. She smelled horrible. She had bruises on her upper arm like someone grabbed her forcefully, her hair was matted. Skin was so dry, dead skin was flaking off. They had me to pack 5 changes of clothing and lost all of her clothes. What a horrible experience at this horrible God forsaken place. If you love your family member seek another facility. No place for any human being. It is inhumane how they treat residents!
I was here for 11 days - from - 11/4/21-11/15/21 - for rehabilitation - the staff was always friendly, and wanted to please the client. The food was good, and was delivered to the clients room, as they do not use their dining room because of COVID-19. The staff always takes covid 19 very seriously, and are always using their masks like they should be. Overall my experience was very good.
My mother and father have been in and out the Heartland facility. The People, nursing, physical therapy, gave 100% and helping my parents. Clarity on what youre signing is what I have a problem with. I was under the impression that I was signing for my dad and really I was signing for myself so when my father left, they started sending me the bill, when I called and told them about this situation I was told he would have to come up there and physically sign the papers. Well if he could actually see and get out the house I wouldnt have to sign them in the first place. My father has been there before so they knew about him, he had been in Heartland in Canton a couple times and he had been out in Dearborn couple times. Dearborn is the only one Ive had the issue with. My father is gone now and with all the stuff that was going on Ive had to pay this bill and I dont think it was right I dont think it was fair Heartland Dearborn Heights should be ashamed of themselves. My dad couldnt see properly and I was only signing for him not signing my name on this bill. You all have to do better.
I wonder how much Heartland paid their staff to write positive reviews to get that bump up to a 3 star rating. My family member was there for a day and it is obvious that the care plan from the hospital was not followed. When she asked to go to a hospital the staff had her wait all day into the night while she was getting sick and threatened to call 911 before she was finally transported to a nearby hospital. After 3 hours of me calling the facility, someone finally answered the phone and gave me the wrong hospital she was sent to. I would never willingly choose this facility. Hopefully this review brings your ratings down and helps other families who rely on reviews to not get hoodwinked.
I can’t express enough how horrible this place is. They have no sympathy for their patients. Leaving them unchanged and not cared for. My father would stay without food because he can’t see well, they would just put the tray next to him and leave. Dr Ali Jaber is not to be trusted. He discharged my elderly father to Garden city hospital without letting the family know. If you care about your family member please don’t bring them here. They will die alone in their bed
On the behalf of my family and I, Heartland Rehab in Dearborn Heights is a wonderful Rehab facility. All of the healthcare workers, the Doctors, Nurses, Nursing Assistants, Physical and Occupational Therapists, Recreational Therapists, and the manager, social worker, and all the staff there are amazing and super sweet. They always make sure you get what you want and make you feel comfortable. My dad, Ahmad Merhi, after months in the hospital going back and forth and thankfully going to Heartland Rehab for a month, left there feeling much better physically thanks to all those I mentioned above.
This nursing home deserves -10 stars smh my precious uncle passed away due to negligence from staying at this exact facility. If I were you I would NEVER trust or even consider this place. Please RUN!! The reviews are true….. NEVER EVER let anyone you know or care about stay here. I do not understand why this is still open. I’m really urging ANYONE who is considering this to re-think your decision.
My mother could have DIED here. Do not trust your loved one here, unless you like gambling. I finally feel able to speak about the amount of pain this faculty in this facility. Long story short, my mother began bleeding from her fistula site, I screamed to the top of my lungs for help. She has had stokes in the past and lost feeling in the her arm, so she didnt know she was bleeding. We were in the main dining area. No one came. I had to leave my bleeding bother to run and find someone. needless to say. she would not be alive had I not been there. As EMS moved her to the ambulance, I washed my hands &arms of all of my mothers blood as I heard two staff member say in the most dismissive tone of voice, Girl I heard that screaming -- So you all heard the screaming but did nothing. Awesome job..
Heartland is one of the best rehab place I have been in since I have needed to go to rehab centers on and off for the past five years. Every employee is experienced, helpful and kind. They will stop to ask if you need anything or any help, they do help out each other and work great as a team. I will recommend heartland Dearborn heights to anyone needing rehab or long term care. All employees from office staff down have been excellent and get the job done! The administrator Tracey is wonderful and is loving and kind to all, she makes sure that the building is run professionally at times
Im going to be watching your staff while my daughter is in your care! After a month there I am sure I will be able to give a detailed and accurate review of your place at Heartland! People need to know there is a SAFE AND FRIENDLY place for their loved ones to go to when they need additional care after an extended hospital stay! They need caring staff that will attend to their needs in a friendly manner (If any one on staff is having a bad day they should leave the scowls outside the doors before they start their work day w/their patients!) These patients need your understanding and help to get through their stay!So I pray you are the best facility out there to care for my daughter during her recovery! Im watching you! So you will get 5 stars as of today! 8-5-15 I sincerely hope you keep this rating at 5 stars over the next 4 to 6 weeks! Sincerely, Beth Stewart
I have many issues with the care and wait time for care. If you press the nurses call button, expect them to come atleast an hour or longer, no matter the reason. Who leaves patients sitting on bed pans for an hour? Heartland does and when family complains, their solution is a diaper. Wow...really, for people who havent had an accident. After back surgery, physical therapy is very important and is supposed to be twice a day. On a good day, it is watching my mother struggle with direction, to scoot from her bed onto a wheelchair to sit in the chair for a few hours ...nothing else, if they come for her at all. And you never see a doctor once youre here either. The lobby is the only thing Ill give compliment to. So disgusted with this place.
My son is currently at this facility now and we are in the process of moving him. Yes the food is horrible, most of the nurses are rude and lazy, he has to call them to remind them to do their job constantly, and to even wear gloves.....when I walk past the nurses station, no one wants to speak so they act busy look the other way or do not respond. The lady that works behind the counter where you sign in is the only friendly professional person I have encountered. I called today regarding an issue and the lady put me on hold and when another lady picked up I asked if she was the nurse manager for my son and she answered How may I help you? How rude!
My mom was sent here, the aides are great. The nurses suck!!!!! Mean, rude, lazy and plain hateful. My mom is a smoker, no one would take her outside (after she was told someone would), she was told she had to wheel herself out to Ford road to smoke. Thats dangerous, so instead she wheeled her shelf to the farthest part of the parking lot. One nurse who was out there doing the same thing, reported my mom, they kicked her out. The food is awful, my mom has a broken hip, they left her on a bedpan for over an hour. I would never recommend this place to my worst enime. -10000000 stars
Omg they almost killed my mom . Worst nursing home Ive ever seen they never gave my mom a bath I had to sponge reader on my own and when I asked for clean sheets and a new gown they gave it to me like it was my job theyre extremely rude and lazy never seen anything like it I was very horrified. And my mom got really sick I asked them to take her to the hospital they told me they had to wait for the doctor to call them. My mom almost died that night. Dont send your loved ones there its a dub trip
I have been an employee at Heartland for over 14 years now. I have held many different positions in different departments. I enjoy interacting with other employees and patients on a daily basis. The nursimg staff is very cooperative and caring. They therapy department is top notch. Several employees in the therapy field hold different specialities and work together to get each patient to a functioning level and be able to return home.
Im not sure what Night Nurses are thinking of.. They change shifts at 7-730pm. But yet patients have to wait until 10-11pm for the nurse to give them any medicines they need.I specifically asked a Nurse for my medication at 830..,,she didnt come in until 10:45pm. Like WTH.. !! Nobody shouldnt have to wait for 2 hours for their meds.. The Physical-Occupational Therapists are Great!! No doubt about that.. They are Awesome!!! This is my 2nd time here,, Only reason I came back is for The Therapists and The Recreational Department!! Sandy is GREAT!! Shes very friendly.. But other than that.. Nurses dont really care.. Especially at nights
Never go here if you have a choice !!! A girl name Rosalind put a band aid on a open wound that requires a bigger bandage, they wait until the pain bag is about to explode to change it, the staff doesn’t properly do their job, an the night shift is the worst shift, you have to wait hours to get water, 4-5 hours wait to get oxygen, DO NOT BRING YOUR PARENTS OR GRANDPARENTS TO THIS PLACE!!!! The front desk lady was falling asleep on the phone, the nurse didn’t ask my cousin what’s her pain level before she gave her a pain pill, an once we told her she didn’t ask she said “Oh I Know”, she wasn’t writing anything on a chart, they were upset she wanted to leave...
I’m an employees of Heartland Dearborn Hts for 22yrs in June. I started as an cena. I currently work as the unit secretary. My experience with the company and been educational and I love working with my conworkers . I love assisting the elderly in any way I can. I would encourage my family and friends if needed to bring their love ones to Heartland Dearborn Hts for their care.
Well I live 4hours away n I noticed when I visited my aunt theres no one offering to helpor greet you n they dont have much of a friendly attitude when they do come in the room. There rooms look like a hospital instead of homey feeling not enough room for a small chair to put your feet up. My poor aunt I worked #25 yrs in homecare I am now disabled if I could I.yake my aunt home with me.
It’s a bad experience I press the red button I need the nurse she came and she told me what do u want stop press the red button I told her my father his not filling good she told me no his fine , after that we find his blood pressure low ,his oxygen low,his blood sugar high, she so mean and rude . I call the supervisor four times she’s not coming,I call them to clean the room,I call them to take my father to take shower . After that I told him I want to discharge him home they told me ok sign the paperwork and take him . They didn’t ask me why
If i can give ZERO stars I would..... they neglect their patients! They can careless! Im not one to jump to conclusions I will give benefit of the doubt but whn u speak to someone n point out the wrong you would think an apology or sympathy towards the situation but no you get the cold shoulder and dry response. Im going to leave it at that because anything else I say will b %$=/#. I was told of the reputation here but I was being optimistic, which was a mistake!!!!! If you dont like your job then get a different career.....
Someone in my family is here right now and I can say she truly receives great care, I know a lot of the reviews on here are negative but I’m so happy to see the great staff and nurses she had, the place is clean, food is good, visiting hours are very generous I’m very happy keep it up!
Why is it that the patients can freely roam the building especially the ones that have dementia which are roaming into other patients room getting into their beds taking there clothes off not once but twice someone needs to watch them very closely I know what it cost to provide care for different levels of care but you guys are not doing it Ive seen some horrible things going on in that place which I strongly feel needs attention real quick Ive witnessed nursing staff totally ignore patients and all could think if that was my loved one then Ive also seen them sit and laugh at patients Ive also seen them allow a person to leave in just a hospital gown in freezing weather the nerve of this place makes me think its just for the money well Im gonna submit a notarized letter to the state along with Medicare and Medicaid to let them know how this place is being ran if you or the staff dont like caring for folks then let them go where they will be cared for it saddens me to think how people can treat others just to let you know KARMA do exist
I’ve been an employee here at heartland Dearborn Heights for over 17 years, I’ve had an excellent experience here I have really enjoyed how the company has given me many opportunities to grow and work in different departments, heartland Dearborn height has an excellent nursing and therapy staff , I would definitely recommend here to any family and friends looking for any rehab for their love ones

2022-01-28I would give this place zero stars if I could. My mother in law was there and after so many weeks they called and said they were discharging her and sending her home because therapy wasnt working. Even though they told us she needs around the clock care. No call back from social worker or anything . Then to just drop her off at the house and not care is ridiculous. This place needs someone to investigate its work processes and the care they are giving their patients.. Promedica will be hearing from us.

2022-01-30Nobody answers the phones when you call, and when you do get someone they are clueless and unhelpful. They dropped the ball many times in the care the gave, and the social worker never returned my calls. I feel the treatment my mother received was negligent at best and senior abuse at worst. Someone needs to go in there and shut them down.

2021-08-19I am sorry to say this was a terrible experience. The room was very small with two of us in it and 1 small closet. I lived out of my suit case. The bathroom was shared by two rooms, so 4 of us used it. The wheelchair could not fit in the bathroom, so you had to wait sometimes for 20 min or more to get someone to take you in. The food was just horrible. You did not have a choice of food. They brought what was made that day. They said you had a choice but it was never available. They brought me the weekly menu and when I requested the item posted it was not available. The menu was never followed. The food was overcooked and just plain in taste. I was there almost two weeks and had to ask for washcloths and water to wash up otherwise nothing was given to you. Then at times it was never brought. Since the wheelchair did not fit in the bathroom I could not go in myself and wash up daily. The aides complained they are too busy they will bring it when they can. Never offered me a shower. My hair had not been washed the whole time there. The therapy was the only thing that was good and they were pleasant but I wish I would of had more that 45 min. a day in PT. I was there 24-7 and watched more TV than anything. I would not go back to Heartland Dearborn Heights again. Not enough aides to help to take care of all the patients. I have stayed in Heartland in Troy and it was so much different. That one was a very pleasant stay no problem with menu choice or getting shower and washing up daily.

2021-12-04My Elderly mother is there as we speak. Its sad that she has to call me and tell me that the nurses are laughing at her every time she asks for water because she speaks little English. and when she asks for a manager. ? They right away act as they wanna help. They cant even handle the door right. 1-side of the building is full of people who have covid and the other side isntand everyone is walking around there freely sometimes not even getting checked. They need to watch this place more Im being serious. its not all that safe

2021-10-11My mother was at this facility the rehabilitation part and the staff was not transparent with her medical history with the hospital at all. We informed them of history but her health started to deteriorate while staying their then her discharge day they were going to release her in my family care when she needed to go the hospital we setup transportation to Henry Ford West Bloomfield with Heartland and spoke with Shaneice numerous times to ensure it went smoothly and so I could arrive to the hospital to assist my mother it did not go well at all for one they never called me to confirm her transportation had arrived or even to let me know it was scheduled according. I ended up doing the follow up call, then she did not arrive to hospital we requested and was told by Sheniece she was taking there. After I spoke with another person by the name of Robert and he said he was in Administration and she was not taking their mind you I’m at the hospital that was confirmed from the staff at the Rehabilitation she’s at West Bloomfield Henry Ford and was not taking there, instead she was taking to garden city Hospital she wasn’t their either then he told me Beaumont Dearborn she finally was their not by our choice or request this should have been all communicated to us and the transportation cause they was unaware also that West Bloomfield was the initial request cause they could have taking her per the hospital plus the transportation a lot quicker they had a bed versus what Promedic Heartland requested no apology at all from absolutely no one at the facility. Furthermore clothing was missing from her belongings and I asked to speak with the two individuals listed Found our Robert is not in Administration he’s a nurse and Sheniece whom is the social worker said her second job was more important than resolving our issue! I would never recommend this facility to no not even a enemy they were horrible.

2021-12-05My mom has been admitted a week so far due to a bad injury and some of the nurses there really dont know how to care for patients or for that matter dont care at all. She struggles with speaking English and was about ready to choke on her food asking for water and the nurses just laughed! Really in what shape or form is that okay or is water denied for anyone or anything. At least have some compassion and treat patients like human beings and if you have nurses that dont act right than GET THEM OUT! DONT HAVE THE ELDERLY PAY THE PRICE

2021-10-09My 91 year old mom had the best care at ProMedica in Dearbirn Hgts. She spoke of everyones kindness. She thought her therapist and nurses were very instrumental in her recovery. Mom would tell me how delicious and healthy the food was.I found the staff very friendly and helpful. I cant express how reassuring that is for family members.

2021-05-05Do NOT allow anyone you care about to go to this facility. My mother was there for a month and received terrible care. Very short staffed. They dropped her transferring her out of bed, left her to get bed sores. They cancelled visits due to more COVID infections, but we didnt receive an official notice until 2 weeks later - was it a second outbreak, or just bad communication? Dont try to call your family member - because they seldom answer their phone, especially after 4 pm. We got so little information about what was happening... very scary. SW would not assist with transfer and they charged us $310 per day. Avoid at all cost.
