Best purchase I’ve made since getting my travel trailer. The price seems high at first glance, but after my very first trip with the hitch installed I would gladly have paid twice the price for the safety it provides. The customer service is beyond anything I have experienced before. It doesn’t matter what time of day, weekend or even holidays, there is always someone available to answer questions or help problem solve any issues you may have. If there was an option for 10 stars I would have chosen that.
Absolutely amazing product. It completely eliminated sway on my F150 with our 33 camper. I transferred it to my F250 when I upgraded and I just cant say enough good about my ProPride hitch. Their customer service is top notch as well. Very fast shipping and great communication.
We own a 2020 Keystone Passport 239ml and tow it with a 2021 Ford Ranger. While weve got plenty of room in towing capacity and payload, the trailer was a bit unruly with a friction sway control weight distribution hitch. I would feel every vehicle larger than a motorcycle that passed us. I typically towed at 60-ish mph and much slower with crosswinds.Enter the ProPride 3P. It took a couple adjustments to get the weight distribution right, but after that, it was smooth sailing. We just took a long weekend trip and I had the cruise set at 65 with 15-20mph crosswinds. Yes, I still feel the trailer behind us, but the control is a night and day difference from our old hitch. Even with a big gust or semi passing us, it felt like the truck and trailer were on rails. The wife even said it felt much smoother. The ordering process was very smooth and Sean was communicative with a couple of stocking issues they were having, but he got me taken care of and my hitch arrived in 3-4 days. The installation manual is well written and easy to follow. Just make sure you have the proper tools and bring them on your first trip in case any adjustments need to be made. An inexpensive set of large wrenches and deep well sockets from Harbor Freight worked great for me.Yes, this is an expensive item, but the difference youll feel once its installed is worth it. I feel much safer while towing our trailer with the wife and child onboard. Get this hitch, you wont regret the decision.
Amazing hitch. Took me about 6 or 7 “hook-ups” to get the rhythm, but now quicker than the old ball hitch. And the ride? Tremendous! I tow a 30 foot Airstream and even in 35 knot cross winds or passing Semi’s, never experience sway. Well worth the stress reduction when towing. Now I drink at the campsite for fun… not to unwind from fighting trailer sway!
We’ve owned our ProPride 3P for just over a year and we recently returned from a 3 week trip traveling almost 4600 miles from Michigan to Wyoming and back. We have a 37ft Outback. Even in wind gusts from 40-60mph or with semi’s passing us at 80mph, we had no sway and felt safe driving at 65mph. Yes it’s pricey, but totally worth the expense. Plus they have the best customer service of any company I’ve ever dealt with!
We LOVE our ProPride hitch. Its easy for my husband to hitch up our trailer. He loves how easy and worry-free it is to tow with the ProPride. And as a passenger, I dont worry either! The Tech Support has been awesome! Every time we have called with a question or issue, someone has patiently worked with us to resolve it. Would definitely recommend this hitch (and company) to our family and friends.
I first thought with tow vehicles being a diesel Excursion and a F350 dually that a sway hitch couldnt help me much, but I was wrong.I have goosenecks and one bumper pull. This hitch makes my bumper trailer pull like a gooseneck. The ProPride hitch made a world of difference with sway, especially on the Excursion. In addition, when encountering stiff crosswinds the hitch seems to lock the tow vehicle and trailer together, making the trailer much more stable in the crosswind.Sean has been helpful both before and after the sale. Ive been surprised with how much support ProPride gave me even after the sale was made. I recommend this company and their product.
We purchased the P3 and noticed the difference between this and other weight distribution hitch’s right away. Was hesitant at first due to the price point but peace of mind and the safety of our family made it worth the investment. Customer service is better than any other company I’ve ever dealt with. Questions were answered very quickly and it’s nice to know that I can reach someone within the company directly with a quick email or message. Very pleased with our purchase!
This company is beyond top notch!! What I see from them on a daily basis on the FB page and my interactions with them since becoming a customer is better than top notch. ProPride sets the standard on how customer service should be. They really have created a family among their customers and I am proud to have their products and be a part of that family. Their 3P hitch is better than advertised and I 100% trust the safety of my family and the families of others on the road with their hitch. I will never tow another travel trailer without my 3P.
Best product I’ve ever used for towing. I have had this for 2 seasons now. I can drive confidently between trucks, with one hand if I choose. I had the Equalizer 4 before this, and I couldn’t do that. It would still sway and I would have moments of white knuckles. Also, the equalizer was so loud, it was embarrassing to make turned with it!!!There really isn’t anything on the market as good as this. Worth every penny, and If I ever do go to sell it, I would basically get what I paid for it!
Purchased the 3P a year ago and it made the driving experience so much better. Was planning. 2000 mile trip and wanted better sway control to keep the camper where it was supposed to be. The 3P did exactly that. I can focus more on the road than having to worry about if the camper is going to start swaying.
Now, Im not an expert in towing things. In fact, being in my late 40s, I dont think I towed anything until about 8 years ago... Ever in my life!About a month ago I purchased my propride 3p! Super excited to get it. Alex over at propride was super helpful and made the purchasing experience one of the best customer service experiences Ive ever had! I had questions about some of the technical capabilities of the hitch which Alex was immediately able to answer and resulted in me purchasing the hitch within 30 minutes of my conversation with him.Shortly after purchasing it I had our (RV) dealer change plans on us and I had to change shipping destination. Not only did ProPride get it change, they got it there before I could get there.Towing with proprite 3p makes towing effortless. Definitely worth the investment!
1st class company. Excellent products and excellent customer service, if I could give them 10 stars I would. We love our ProPride hitch, worth every single penny, best investment I have ever made in RVing. Simply the Best hitch ever! NO more sway and white knuckle driving. The journey is every bit as enjoyable now as the destination. Semis passing? windy? dont even notice anymore. Dont hesitate you will not be sorry.
A ProPride Hitch is one of those things you may not realize you need until you have one. We just got into having a trailer back in September 2020 and fortunately purchased a used Airstream that already had one on it. While I had heard that “nothing pulls like an Airstream”, I had heard from people the horror stories of sway and nearly flipping their trailer due to high winds and the like. Pulling our trailer with the ProPride is such a breeze. I would recommend seeing the hitch as an investment in peace of mind. We have pulled our trailer since through high winds and just have not experienced the sway or side to side motion that I have heard from others. You can tell the entire hitch setup is built to last and that someone spent a lot of time making sure it will last for many years. Regardless of whether you are new to camping or been doing it for a while and tired of that side-to-side uneasiness, I recommend ProPride 100%.Lastly, their customer service is fantastic. I contacted them recently with making changes to our setup because we just installed larger tires on our trailer and they took the time and addressed every question. In summary, ProPride in my opinion is everything you hope for and want in an American Made company. Keep up the great work guys!
It’s the best hitch by far in the industry. Not only does this hitch provide incredibly safe, but also comfortable pulling. Couldn’t imagine pulling without it. The customer service is the best that I have experienced with any company that I have interacted with as well. Couldn’t be more pleased!
I bought a Propride hitch use. They went out of the way to help me set it up. I had Concerns and question, and they went above and beyond to address them all. I believe the Gentleman that was helping me was out on a boat with his family at the time. Now to how this hitch effected my Tow experience. I have a Ford Excursion with a short wheelbase, I did a lot of modifications from rebuilding the front end, new Red Head steering gear, rear airbags and Hellwig sway bar, and finally upgraded my rear leaf springs. I also have E rated tires on my Truck. I was using the Equalizer friction bar style Weight distribution. I could not get rid of the sway, mostly winds and Semi’s passing me. My trailer is an Outdoors RV 28BKS 33Ft long. Loaded I’m around 9,000 ponds. Once I set up the ProPride system, took my set up to the scales to dial it in, I was amazed. I drove from SoCal to Zion National Park to Yellow Stone to Mount Rushmore and back home. Lots of wind and trucks passing me. This is the real deal!
I recently purchased the ProPride “hitch” after owning a Hensley.. the Hensley did what it was advertised to do.. but when the weight distribution jack failed on the Hensley, so did their customer service department.. since my purchase of the ProPride I have towed our Airstream approximately 2500 miles and the ProPride has also performed as advertised.. what I have noticed with the ProPride from the initial opening of the packaging, was the care that the company has taken to assure the customer is getting a product that is in pristine condition. The instructions are very informative and easy to follow.. ProPride also has some very detailed videos to assist you if you have any questions.. what astonished me next was that you could actually call their customer service line and speak directly to someone who is legitimately happy and capable to assist you with your questions.. I have worked in agriculture on the retail side of things for over 30 years and I know the dedication it takes to honor that commitment to service. I will obviously rate the quality of the ProPride and the advances they have made in sway control at a full 5 stars.. in an online world that has tried to take the personal touch out of the purchasing process, I applaud ProPride for staying true to their values and the customer.
Hands down best hitch ever, will never tow without it! But beyond that, one of a handful of companies that provide customer service that is unparalleled , you can call and talk thru any issues, they will ship parts like overnight, cannot speak highly enough about them, they have my business for the rest of my camping days! Propride rocks!
We pull a 30 foot travel trailer with a 3/4 ton truck. Drives great. Passing semis and medium winds have no impact on sway. Slight learning curve on hitching/unhitching but figured it out after 3 times (and advice from propride Facebook group. Definitely worth the cost.
The ProPride 3P is an excellent product from the best company you will ever have the opportunity to do business with. Due to the physics of the design this hitch will not allow trailer sway to ever get started, so the product gets 5 stars on the safety factor alone. And then there is the nonpareil customer service. I had questions before, during, and after my purchase and these guys are happy to take a phone call, quickly respond to an email, or give a quick text back. And they do it all with a friendly demeanor that makes you feel like youre part of the family. When I recently purchased a 3P hitch, I had a problem during the installation that was going to delay my trip back home by a few days (or so I thought). Somehow, the ProPride team found a creative solution and got be on the road so I could keep to my schedule. And what did they charge me to fix a self-imposed problem? Nada. Zilch. Zero. I am a lifelong customer for sure!
We just bought a new 34’ travel trailer weighing 7060 lbs. My 2010 F-150 has the max tow package....suspension, rear axle ratio, transmission cooling, alternator etc.... rated to 11,200 lbs. We bought and installed the Andersen anti-sway hitch. It was a decent price and had great reviews. On the way home from the RV dealership we had some pretty significant winds and semi-truck gusts as well. It was about a 2 hour drive. The sway we experienced was very disconcerting. I happened to see an ad for the ProPride 3P hitch on Facebook. I was skeptical, especially considering the price. The day I drove my trailer to a church parking lot to install the hitch was quite windy again. Again, I felt considerable sway. I installed the hitch in about 2 hours (not including the time required to remove the Andersen hitch and move the propane tank tray, battery disconnect and brake controller). The weight distributing was very easy to setup! The truck and trailer were darn near perfectly level. It was still very windy on the drive back to the storage lot and not even the slightest bit of sway. Even when the semi-trucks blew by me on the 2 lane road. I had a couple of questions during the install and Brent returned my call within 5 minutes. It’s awesome to be able to speak to an actual person every time I call. It is a very beefy and stout setup. I do wish it wasn’t quite so heavy and expensive, but I feel very safe towing the trailer. Highly recommend this hitch.
Love this hitch, support is excellent as well. We have a 34 foot airstream that we pulled 3 times(max of 1 1/2 hrs), I thought no doubt I couldnt drive with it anymore. Installed this hitch and its like a different trailer. Very manageable now, we have been on numerous longer trips now. Before I was worn out after an hour long drive, now I have driven 7 hours several times and still had energy to mow the yard after. Just know that if you have a low riding trailer, this hitch does eat up some of your ground clearance. Not going to be an issue for most, but just something to know. Thanks so much guys for the work you are doing!
Do you NEED a Propride hitch....maybe not. But folks dont need to drive Porsches or Maseratis either. It absolutely eliminated that push/pull from passing trucks and that made all the difference in arriving relaxed after my long trips. I used to avoid the highways, now I not only use them but Im passing those same trucks that I worried about.
We just installed and finished our first trip with the ProPride hitch.Short Review: Wow.Long Review:Our rig is a Freedom Express 27RKDS (30’ LOA, 6200# dry, #7500 loaded) pulled by a 2020 Ford Expedition Max (rated 9000# towing). I’ve been towing a variety of rigs for 46 years. A few 5th wheel rigs, mostly bumper pulls. Lengths to 35’ or so, behind everything from Jeep Grand Wagoneer (Dad’s ill-advised rig, I watched him get pushed down a freeway offramp, by a loaded horse trailer, jackknifed, in the rain) to an 2018 F250 Diesel. We bought the ProPride because I figured our 30’ foot trailer was close to the limit of safety for an Expedition given the wheelbase, weight and balance of the trailer, location and configuration of the trailer wheels. Specifically, our rear trailer wheel is located about 85% back of the LOA from the hitch, wheels are about 4’ apart. Without anything special, this trailer should be safe for an Expedition, barely. Our trailer behind the F250 was no big deal. With the Expedition we were knocking off 30” of wheelbase, and a solid 1000 lbs of tow vehicle.Bought the ProPride, had it professionally installed because we needed to move propane on the trailer to install it. 3 days later we took off for an 8 hour RV trip from Sacramento to Oregon.A little on the buying experience. I called the team at ProPride because the planned Oregon trip had a hard date. I asked if they could guarantee a ship date so that I could receive the hitch by September 1; the web site was showing that date wasn’t possible. They promised to deliver on time, just asked me to make a comment in the order form that we had talked. The hitch was delivered on September 1. You can’t ask for better service than they provided.Back to the towing experience. We drove up I5, known for lots of trucks, lots of grades, and some pretty windy interstate through the Shasta National Forest. We never once felt like a semi-truck pushed the trailer EVEN A LITTLE. We did notice a bit of a side push from box trucks (e.g. moving vans, lots of flat frontal area to move air), but the push happened as they passed the Expedition – not the trailer. The trailer was rock solid. 6% down grades were also rock solid. 6% down grades, on windy road (45 mph warnings on turns), we never once felt like the trailer was pushing the tow vehicle. This will sound a bit superlative; but, in terms of the stability of the trailer, I’ll take the ProPride hitch and Expedition over an F250 Diesel with a standard WD hitch any day. It was that solid. If I were towing with an F250 today knowing what I know, I’d throw the ProPride hitch on it. It’s that solid. We didn’t miss the F-250 tow vehicle. Well, with the exception of the 36 gallon fuel tank and the increased range between fuel stops. This review is for the hitch; but, the combination of the Expedition Max (with HD Tow), this trailer, and the ProPride hitch is hard to beat. Ran up the 6% grades at 60 mph with no trouble. Could have gone faster, but it’s over the speed limit and no need to work the equipment any harder. I could pull out and pass trucks easily up these grades without holding up traffic. Downhill was just not a problem. The Expedition has a “Tow/Haul” mode. With that mode selected, when you head downhill and set your speed with the brake, the vehicle will use its 10 speed automatic as if it were an engine brake. No – not quite as nice as the engine brake on the F250, but a 10 mile 6% downgrade into Ashland, Oregon was a non-issue.Cost? Yep. $3000 is a lot for a hitch. Perspective. 2020 Expedition Max $50-70,000. Freedom Express: $25,000. Plus everything I hold dear (My wife, 3 Saint Bernards) in the tow vehicle. $3,000 is lost in the noise. Most importantly, if it keeps us out of an accident, $3K is less than the cost of the ambulance.
Trust me when I say this hitch is going to save my marriage, no more white knuckling, no more wife yelling at me to slow down, heck she doesn’t even grab onto the imaginary oh sh*t handle any longer when being passed by a semi! Propride has been one of the best companies I have ever dealt with, thank you!!
I have proudly owned a ProPride hitch for approximately six years. I parked a brand new 31 trailer for a year as the sway was so bad with the previous hitch that I didnt feel safe. I did a lot of internet research and found ProPride. A quick phone call to Sean answered any lingering questions as to whether the investment was worth it. After the hitch was installed there is no sway in strong winds and the rig feels safe. I now pull a 33 trailer and have zero regrets about purchasing the hitch. Unparalleled product with exceptional customer service.
This year, our family of eight moved from an expandable trailer to a bunkhouse that is 33 ft 6000 lbs dry. Towing with an Expedition EL and intending to embark on some long distance trips, I knew I wanted a good hitch to make this combo work for me.After reviewing the options, it was pretty obvious the 3P was the best choice out there.Fast forward to today, we will probably have about 5000 miles of towing by the end of the season. I have no regrets in reagard to purchasing the 3P.Considering the crosswind and passing traffic scenarios weve experienced thus far, Im confident that the 3P gives me the safest and most relaxed towing experience that a hitch can provide.I also am very happy with how easy it is to use. Once you practice a couple times, it becomes surprisingly easy. I do not miss lining up the trailer ball. And, to top it off, the customer support has been excellent. I expect there will be many trouble free years of operation.
I bought a used Pro Pride 3P from a guy on Craigs List who said he had issues with it. It turned out it just needed new bearings. I tore it apart and put all new bearings in it. Shawn was very happy to talk me through the dis-assembly and assembly process. It pulled like a dream when I was all done. I have a 2011 Expedition EL that we pull a Keystone Passport 3220BH with no issues. We pulled it 1200 miles round trip to Mt Rushmore this summer and it was so much easier to pull than the traditional hitch with friction sway control (night and day difference). The daylight picture below is of our setup before the 3P hitch. I constantly fought the trailer and wind, but now the TV and camper play nice together. An additional perk is that now I can open our lift gate with the camper hooked up!!!
This is my first camper and I did a lot of research on which hitch I was going to get. It is important to me because in my research I was reading that for every other hitch out there, there were a lot of mixed reviews. Things people liked and didnt like. Many reviews expressed dissatisfaction with the hitch performance and design, white knuckle driving in high winds or when a tractor trailer passes. Then I found ProPride 3P based on the Jim Hensley design. Nearly every review was positive for both design and performance. Then I researched more and found that the 3P hitch has some design improvements over the original Jim Hensley design, most notably the adjustable stinger height. I really like the pivot point projection concept. So, I made the decision to buy the 3P and I can say definitely that it does all that it is said to do. I barely notice high winds and tractor trailers. Hitching and unhitching is easy now that I am used to it and I really like that I dont have to do anything to the sway control when I am backing up. I will never tow without one. I have my family in the truck with me and their safety is my highest priority. On top of the quality of the product, I am also really impressed with the company and my purchase/support experience. I installed the hitch myself and the customer support was second to none. Email and text messages with questions for install help were replied to within minutes, even after hours. Also, the propride Facebook group has many seasoned 3P owners in it and they are all super helpful and encouraging with the conversations that take place there. Overall, I am extremely happy with every facet of my experience with the product and the company. Do your research and Im sure you will come to the same conclusion I did when I got my 3P!
We tow a 26-foot travel trailer and had bad problems with high wind, especially crosswinds. Since we upgraded to a ProPride 3P hitch the trailer sway is now completely gone. The hitch is built like a tank and the customer service was great (we had to get a small replacement part, which they sent right away). Highly recommended.
Weve been towing with a ProPride 3P for two years now..... 17K+ miles. When all hooked up, our rig is 59 6 long from bumper to bumper and the travel trailer stands 12 6 tall, so there is a lot of mass. Weve towed in significant direct crosswinds (30 mph+) and never had one issue, even when the 18-wheelers hit you with their blast! The customer service has been exceptional! Sean has always been there to answer questions and provide support.
#141 is at home in Vancouver Washington!! I received my ProPride Hitch on July 18 2008, installed it that weekend. I called Sean with a few installation questions and, he cleared them up in no time!! Took my time to make sure everything came out right. Had to modify a few things on the trailers tongue so things would fit correctly,(tow chains, small chain and lock to secure the spring clips to the stinger ,front cover). Took off on my test run and hit the freeway!! The Trailer followed straight as an arrow!! The TT used to wiggle a little at 60 MPH and the Tow Vehicle would have to steer left and right to compensate for it with and death-grip on the wheel Now I can drive with one hand lightly holding the steering wheel!!NO MORE DEATH-GRIP!!!! Towing got alot more easier. Thank you Sean from the bottom of my heart!!!!
We had a Hensley Arrow for 10 years and decided to upgrade to a ProPride for our new trailer. What a difference in towing. The real test was my wife towing and commenting how much better the truck drove with the 3P. This was a very positive experience all the way around for us. The detailed installation instructions from ProPride were outstanding as was the YouTube videos of installing the ProPride.
This is why I have a ProPride , We have a 30 Airstream and a GM 2500 HD we were on our way home from a camping trip on I-75 north, south of Findley Ohio . Running about 65mph and came up on a slow moving tractor trailer rig ,so I decided to pass him when I got into the passing lane I noticed about 2 more trucks in front of him . So I increased speed to about 70mph and when I got past him the Airstream started to sway . There was another truck now behind me .I had both hands on the steering wheel and thought we were going to loose it . I actuated the trailer brakes with my left hand and slowed down Im sure the truck behind me wasnt happy but we didnt wreck . That was about 3 years ago and the P3 has been the best money I have ever spent . I dont tow over 70mph. but I have sometimes without even knowing the trailer is behind me . I always got sway when a Greyhound buss passed me or a Tractor trailer and I was always looking in my rear view camera to see whats coming . No I can relax because of the P3 . from Les Grace Toledo Ohio
The hitch does what it says it will do. Definitely worth the money for me. I pull a 38’ vibe with a Chevy 1500. My towing experience went from driving 55 at most and still swaying to doing the speed limit on the interstate in wind and feeling 100% more stable and safe!
First, I have to say I do not typically review products.Having owned our 1st trailer for almost a year now, I consider myself a newbie to the TT world. When we purchased the trailer, the dealer sold us a R3 hitch. Setting aside the fact the dealer did not properly install the hitch, did not have nor install the correct shank with the correct drop, after my white knuckle drive home, I went through all the instructions for the hitch, removed it, ordered the correct shank and reinstalled it, including measured, measured, measured and measured again. I had the hitch set up in accordance with the installation instructions.I also spoke with the R3 manufacturer who informed me the weight distribution bars the dealer gave me were oversized for my application. I worked with the dealer and they provided me with the correct weight distribution bars.Even after going through all of the above, the drives were very tiring and white knuckled.I reached out the hitch manufacturer and they sent me a R6 head, which I installed per the manufacturer instructions, including measuring, measuring, measuring and measuring again. While the R6 head did improve my towing experience, it was marginal at best. I even purchased the Curt Better Weigh dongle that connected to my vehicles OBD.It was either sell the trailer or start looking for a hitch that would give me a better towing experience. I looked at the P3, Blue Ox and Equalizer, all of which had good reviews. The P3 was clearly the most expensive and I wrestled with its cost, but, I also did not want to spend MORE money on the Blue Ox, Equalizer or some other hitch and be right back where I was with the R3 or R6 hitches. So, I purchased the Propride P3 and today was our first outing since I installed it. Before talking about my first trip, I have to say Alex at ProPride was available on a Saturday and Sunday to field and answer any questions while I was installing it. Once installed, I spoke with Brent at ProPride to review my measurements. The ride today was simply amazing. I live in the Outer Banks of NC and today was a typical windy day here. The difference between my prior hitch and this is truly night and day. Our tow vehicle and trailer now act as one unit - said another way, they seemed connected. With our prior hitch, the tow vehicle and trailer did not act as one, nor were they connected. It was truly the tail wagging the dog.In the wind or on rough roads, the two units acted as one, in concert with each other. I am not saying the wind did not push the tow vehicle or trailer, nor am I saying when trucks passed me there wasnt the push and pull. What I am saying is the tow vehicle and trailer moved as one. In fact, I would say the wind impact was very similar to driving the tow vehicle without a trailer connected to it.The drive time of our first trip with the P3 was 4 hours. With the prior set up, after 4 hours I needed to take a nap.I was very hesitant to spend the money for the P3, but, wish I would have done it sooner. It would have made our trips up and down the east coast during our first year of trailer ownership MUCH more pleasant for me, and my wife!!!
Purchased my ProPride 3P hitch some months back, Sean was able to adjust the order to fit my 2.5inch hitch. Finally was able to do the install several weeks ago and Sean was available via cell phone and email for the questions that I had. Great customer support, highly recommend buying a ProPride 3P hitch.
Before buying a ProPride hitch my Cherokee Grey Wolf 26BRB swayed constantly. I weighed the trailer, tow vehicle, tongue weight, gross weight, etc. Everything was dialed in to perfection. Still sway. Trucks passing, rain, inclines, wind, speeds of 55 mph would all cause sway. By driving with one hand on the trailer brake controller and a watchful eye I could stop the sway but towing in anything above 10 mph wind was a nightmare.Since I bought the hitch in April 2021 I have towed my travel trailer 2300 miles cross country. Through mountains, wind, rain, interstates, highways and even small county roads. Never has the trailer even considered swaying. When I first installed the hitch I test towed it on the interstate. Without even realizing it I was towing at 65 mph and one hand on the wheel. The sway is gone. Support and customer service have been second to none. Install was very easy following the directions that were sent with the hitch. This is an awesome product and the people behind it are just as good as the product itself. Quality of materials used to make the hitch are impecable and with care I am sure this is the last hitch I will ever buy.
This custom trailer is 43 feet long, weights 12,500lbs, and has 1,850lbs of tongue weight. Had a terrible problem with sway because of a lot of weight from the boat behind the axels. Scarred me to death to tow once the sway started...could have easily gotten out of control fast. Then installed the P3 hitch and it completely tamed the sway! Now I can tow with 2 fingers on the wheel with confidence the sway wont get out of control...trailer and tow vehicle move as one now. This product WORKS AMAZINGLY WELL. The quality of the P3 is IMPRESSIVE. Sean has been extremely responsive. Very Very happy customer.
Were running a ProPride 3P Hitch on our 35 ultralite travel trailer which is pulled by a 2016 F-150 Ecoboost. I cannot saw enough goods things about the ProPride 3P Hitch - it is the best anti-sway load distributing hitch on the market today. This great product is backed by an even better customer support service. ProPrides owner Sean is a terrific individual to work with, he is super responsive and has always personally handle all of my questions. I highly recommend doing business with this company
The ProPride 3P is the best hitch i have ever towed with on my Outdoors RV travel trailer. The is zero sway even when towing in heavy crosswinds. The customer service is top notch. Sean and his team take care of everyone at all hours of the day. I would 100% recommend this product to anyone towing a traditional bumperpull trailer.
I did a lot of research before purchasing my hitch and I kept coming back to the ProPride. We’re pulling a 2021 Grand Design 30ft. 2500RL with a 2020 F-150 3.5EB and although we’ve only towed this combination 5 times so far, it has been the most consistent tow I’ve every experienced. Two lane roads at 65 with trucks coming the other way and not the slightest push from them. Very pleased to say the least. But I am absolutely impressed with the “after the sale” support. I have needed help after hours and on the weekends and they have helped me. Just love the product and the company! Keep it up Sean and Brent!
One trip and I can already tell its better...We picked a new RV earlier this month, only about 40 miles from home. The dealer wanted a lot of both time and money to install the ProPride; enough to convince me to handle the install myself. How bad could it be, taking it the first 40 miles on the ball hitch? Im towing with an F-250, thats more than enough truck.Enter a small, red, Kia, texting probably. Hard braking, brand new trailer is having none of that, starts to sway and its trying really hard to pull the truck along with it....reflexively pinched the brake controller to bring it out of the sway, perhaps -- on reflection -- a bit too aggressively, and smoked a flat spot onto a Goodyear Endurance, with under 40 miles on the tire. I mean, no tread left at ALL, and it was one hard stop over a relatively short distance. So, the next few days were spent installing the ProPride (and replacing the smoked tire), then we took it about 120 miles over the weekend, in some pretty unpleasant wind, and somewhat similar traffic conditions. Never felt unstable at all, and I havent even made it to a scale yet to dial in the weight distribution. Didnt once feel the need to touch the brake controller at all, the whole setup just feels much more connected and stable.I am quite pleased with my purchase.
We had a little too much trailer for our Expedition. It was all within specs, but any wind over 20mph required extremely slow, white-knuckle driving. This hitch saved the day. We were able to take a 3,000 mile trip to the Florida Keys and back in relative comfort. We did just upgrade our TV to a 3/4 ton and the Pro Pride is 100% staying. It changes the game by eliminating all sway. I still wouldn’t drive Interstates without it with tractor trailers flying around me. My family was worth this investment. Resale value is near 90% to boot!
ProPride 3P Trailer Sway Control HitchTowed my 32’ trailer with a 1 ton truck with all the bells and whistles via standard hitch and expedition with the P3 installed. The expedition with P3 towed significantly better (except for gas mileage of course) than the 1 ton truck thanks to the P3. Will never tow larger/heavier trailers with any other hitch regardless of tow vehicle! Customer service is outstanding and any setup struggles are easily dispatched. Piece of mind is worth every penny.
Not only is the 3P Hitch superior to any other sway control/weight distributing hitch on the market today, ProPride’s customer service is beyond exceptional. I have purchased the hitch, accessories to the hitch and a set of Rock-guards from them. I have been able to speak on the telephone to the professionals at ProPride, while standing at the roadside, who then coached me through a repair. Additionally, I was able to adjust my hitch to a new tow vehicle, while speaking directly with the folks at ProPride. I have never experienced that level of customer service from any other company nor any other product. The quality of the product brought me to them, and their customer service will keep brining me back.
I have used other weight distribution and anti-sway hitches before deciding that the ProPride was worth a try. As an engineer and someone that has been towing most of my life, I can say with confidence that there simply isnt a better hitch available. The technology employed in it as well as the craftsmanship that goes into making it are second to none. Combine that with a company that stands behind their product and goes the extra mile for their customers and its pretty much a no-brainer.
The best hitch you can buy. Total eliminates sway and makes the whole towing experience much more relaxing. Worth every penny and would recommend to anyone who tows a trailer. Plus the customer service is exceptional, always willing to answer any questions during purchase, set up and use.
I just recently bought a ProPride hitch, and so far so good. They have been very responsive to my questions along the way in purchasing, and installing the hitch. I just recently installed my hitch, and could see a difference immediately. I will say this about the hitch itself. It is very strong and well built. With proper maintenance it should last me for years to come. Overall, it was a good experience.
We ordered a 27 foot airstream in 2019. Researched hitches for a few months prior to picking the propride hitch. We were newbies to towing and travel trailers, the ordering process and delivery was a breeze. Once we got the parts there was more research on how to install. We installed at the dealership in under four hours. Couple of phone calls to propride with questions during install and we were done. I have to say that we have never and will never experience trailer sway with this hitch. Even in windy and stormy conditions. It is a small price to pay for safety on the road. Recently did a 2000 mile road trip on route 66 and saw a pick up and trailer facing the wrong way on the road with trailer lying on its side . After a few minutes we figured out that trailer had flipped over. Scary! Dont hesitate. Just get it.
Great company!! Sean, the owner is very active on the social media page and so are some of the other employees and theyre always helping out whenever we have questions and if theres a hiccup, they respond back almost instantly and offer amazing customer service. The support community from other ProPride owners is second to none and theres a wealth of knowledge from them as well. Im glad I purchased the ProPride hitch and joined this amazing family. What are you waiting for? Order your ProPride today because I can assure you that you wont be disappointed.
Propride is the absolute best hitch on the market. I bought it because my family’s safety is increased by using this hitch when we tow our camper. Sean and the entire team at Propride also provide the best customer service and support. Sean answered my phone calls on a weekend when I was installing my hitch. He also backs his product 100% and helped me replace some minor parts. I highly recommend Propride.
Emailed Propride with a question about my Propride hitch lot bar. And less than 5 minutes later the owner replies to my question with an answer to fix my issue. And a few hours later another representative follows up to make sure Im happy. Now thats absolutely outstanding service!!
Couldnt be happier with both the sales and the hitch itself. We ordered a 30 Classic Airstream and knew we wanted a ProPride hitch, we had received an email that our Airstream was being delivered. I called on Sunday night expecting a call back when they opened that week, but instead, approximately 30 minutes after leaving a message, I received a call from the owner, who answered all my questions, made suggestion and took my order including shipping directly to our dealer. It couldnt have been a better experience, we have now 3 months experience towing and all I wonder why I didnt use this hitch before. Great experience
My husband and I had an equalizer wdh but realized that this was only to reduce sway. We wanted to eliminate it and after reading tons of reviews from Propride hitch owners on Travel trailer pages on Facebook and YouTube we realized that Propride was the best on the market. We are very happy with our purchase and feel safe taking our precious cargo to make memories.Another thing that is fantastic and so rare to see with companies today is customer service. Their customer service is enviable. I’m a small business owner so seeing just how available Sean makes himself to consumers is incredible. I honestly don’t know how he does it but if you have a question he quickly has an answer.
It Works!!Product: ProPride 3P Trailer Sway Control HitchPosted By: Norman GregorySince owning our 25 Airstream trailer we have put about 12000 miles on it - the first 8300 miles with a common weight distribution hitch and the rest with a ProPride 3P. We decided to spend the money as we really like our very light F150 truck but didnt like the tension we felt driving with lots of semis or cross winds (or both) and the sway we had to always be ready to compensate for. After switching to the ProPride hitch we find ourselves driving with a light touch on the wheel even in a herd of semis with a cross wind. We barely can feel most semis and a cross wind feels just like the truck is in the wind but not towing. The description folks give of the truck and trailer feeling like a single unit has proven very accurate. We have decided that the money was well spent. The only downside is that we still have some learning to do about connecting the hitch on uneven ground but that will come.
Yes, this thing is worth every penny. Yes, even if you have a 3/4-ton truck. We have a 3/4-ton diesel truck. We also have two trailers, a 32 travel trailer w/ ProPride and a 20 enclosed car hauler with Blue Ox SwayPro. The 20 is more fidgety and nervous to pull than the travel trailer.Plus, it is much easier to hitch and unhitch with the ProPride. No carrying greasy bars around, no pry bars, no fidgety coupler locks, no nothing. If your vehicle has a reverse camera, you can hitch up by yourself in a few minutes.
Ive started RV/camping with an EAZ LIFT 48058 WDH with chains and a removable sway control bar. I didnt know what I was doing. This cheap WDH didnt control weight distribution with the chains, and I also had to remove the sway control bars to back up. It didnt even do a good job managing sway as well! I finally upgraded to an Equal-i-zer 4-point WDH as it seemed to be the gold standard for friction-based hitches. While it improved my tow experience, I was on a mission to fix the sway since it still happened. I installed Timben SES bump stops, new Bilstein 5100 shocks, and an add-a-leaf spring. They did help with stability, but with windy conditions, I would still get sway. Since I was on vacation trying to relax, I finally was over it. I want my trips to be enjoyable. When I started camping, I initially put off Hensley, and ProPride hitches due to the cost and thought people were ridiculous for buying them. The ProPride is the upgrade to the Hensley. Even though my travel trailer was within the limits of my truck, it was either upgrade to a bigger truck or give ProPride a chance; I tried the expensive hitch and installed it. The install took some time but was worth it. Tow has been completely elimated, and it is no longer an ordeal -- I can finally relax while towing! Definitely worth the big pile of cash.
Was new to campers, dealer sold me a blue ox, almost died about 20 times with it, was scared to death to tow it anymore. The camper is 37ft long so that didn’t help, started researching and looked at both Hensley and propride, loved propride design and after getting on their Facebook page and looking at all the reviews I had made my choice. I couldn’t afford the hitch after had just purchasing the camper so luckily they have a finance option. The website was having issues while I was trying to order and to my surprise the owner actually called me to get it all sorted out, called twice as a matter fact. Once I got it I put it on there and never had an issue since, hooking up can be challenging at times but once I figured out to tilt the head I rarely have an issue anymore, I can run 75-80 if I want (not that I do as that’s unsafe pulling a camper of my size). Hands down best purchase, best customer support, propride takes care of its customers, if you have an issue with this hitch they will resolve it and send you new parts to your campground or wherever you are to get you going, go on their Facebook page and look through it, it will sell itself
Best WDH on the market! Makes towing a travel trailer a breeze with no trailer sway! Customer service is 5+ Stars. Have emailed them on Saturday with response within 15-20 Min. Have spoken on phone with company representatives even on Sunday. A company that actually cares about its customers. Expensive but worth it. Cant put a price on safety!
This system was originally recommended to me by a professional truck driver. It has turned out to be an Outstanding product for anyone towing with a standard travel trailer. No fish tailing, 18 wheelers passing either direction have no impact, and very stable with side winds. I would not have crossed Kansas once in a 25 kt cross wind had I not had the ProPride hitching system. 15,000 of trouble free coast to coast towing in two years including passing over the Colorado Rockies, Cascades, and the Wasatch mountain ranges a few times. Consider it the best travel insurance you can buy if you travel the long haul!
Amazing product and even better service. This hitch made a night and day difference to my towing experience. Now I dont feel like I am going going to lose control in the wind or if a semi passes. The instructions were very clear and it only took me about 5 hours to install.
We purchased a 34 foot Rockwood trailer in Arizona winter of 2018. When we towed it back to Michigan, the trailer was all over the road. It seemed when I got to 45 mph, it started moving around and it really got bad once I got around 55. The hitch I was using had worked fine on my 29 foot Coachman trailer and was rated to handle the bigger and heavy trailer. I made several changes to my truck and that helped a little. The local trailer dealer found problem with the trailer which also helped. I ordered my ProPride hitch as a last resort and it made all the difference in the world. I am now able to travel at 65 and there is no sway at all. I just got back to Michigan from Arizona where I pulled the trailer around 6000 miles since I bought my ProPride hitch and towing is enjoyable again. I cant say enough, this hitch is amazing.Kim
I called Propride to inquire about their products. Brent was very helpful over the phone. I placed my order same day and had it in 2 days. I had further questions and reached out to Sean, the owner of propride and he got back to me right away, even on a Sunday. Thanks to propride my toy hauler towing is now smooth sailing. Thank you Sean, Brent and Propride staff.
Can’t say enough about this system. It’s a total game changer as far as towing stability goes. My wife wouldn’t even attempt to share the driving and now she offers all time. The trailer feels very secure and stable even during the harshest wind gusts. The customer service is the best I’ve seen. Not only do they provide a full updated color install booklet with very detailed instructions but the also provide wrenches and tools to install it with. On the first page of the book, the owner Sean provides their office number and his personal cell phone for any issues pre or post install. Brent also provided me his cell number when I called prior to my purchase.I had to call a few times on a Sunday afternoon during my install to verify a few items and he picked up on the first try and was more than happy to help. We did a video chat session and had it resolved quickly.Sean is also very active on their Facebook page and the community of subscribers is like a big family always willing to help each other out. Can’t say enough. Highly recommend!
I cant say enough about this hitch. Been using it for about 7 years on 2 different trailers and its been great. No sway in any winds we tow in or with trucks passing. We did a lot of research on the 3P and Hensley but went with the 3P. It seems to me like the 3P is better designed and better built than the Hensley.
I can’t imagine pulling my camper without the ProPride 3p! You are lying to yourself if you think your current hitch is good enough. I went from white knuckle driving at 55, to forgetting I have the TT hooked up when trucks pass us at 70. And there is no better customer service on the planet! 5/5 every single time!
Owned one of there hitches for a few years now. Prior to buying I thought it was just an expensive gimmick. I decided to try one for myself and I was wrong. The hitch is worth every penny. Solid, and performs as advertised. I can highly recommend this hitch. All question sent to the company were answered quickly and they take the the time to talk with the customer.
Wow! What a difference.I have a 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 pulling a Grand Design 2850 MK 35.5 feet in legnth.I had a Blue Ox sway pro and it did a decent job as long as you were not on the freeway and there was no wind. If a truck passed you got pushed then sucked back in as they went by.I purchased the ProPride with 1400 lb bars and I could not be happier. Last week we did some camping while towing had a really good wind. I couldnt even feel it. This week we headed out for a 6 day camping trip and while on the freeway I had to keep slowing down because you just dont feel it back there anymore. Even as a large semi passed I could not even feel the typical pull / push that you get from the big trucks. This hitch is worth every penny. You cant put a price on safety and piece of mind.
I absolutely LOVE THIS HITCH! I just finished a 2500 mile trip towing a 7,200 lb travel trailer with an 08 Chevy 2500 HD. The trip included terrains ranging from flat desert roads to 16 mile long, 10% mountain grades. Heres my scores... PANIC STOPS: A+ On two separate occasions, due to careless/dangerous drivers I was forced to make very sharp evasive maneuvers which included extremely hard, skidding stops. One of them was going down a 6% grade at 52 mph (posted speed was 55mph). My 3P kept that trailer right in line behind my truck both times and enabled me to make the maneuvers I needed to avoid a serious collision. No damage to my truck, trailer, hitch, or the Bozos who almost hit me! HIGH WINDS: A+ On several occasions we experienced high, gusting winds hitting us from the side. Zero sway. ROUGH ROAD/UNEVEN PAVEMENT: A+ Lots of road construction this time of year in the high country. Zero sway. TRUCKS PASSING: A+ Whether we were passing them, or they passing us - at freeway speeds - we experienced no sway. HIGH WINDS + TRUCK PASSING + UNEVEN PAVEMENT: A The trailer tried to get into a sway for a few seconds, but once again my 3P corrected it and held the trailer right in line behind my truck. Also, installation was pretty easy. My Father in Law and I put it on in 3 hours and I am far from being a good mechanic. In addition, hook up and disconnect are simple. It just takes a couple tries to get the feel of it. The 3P is an awesome piece of equipment. I highly recommend it! And yes, I took some grief because I paid more for this than the other more popular and inexpensive options. But, after my two near collisions, I credit my 3P with me ending my vacation with my wife and three kids looking at all the great pics we got and talking about the great experiences we had instead of lying in the hospital. Once again, great hitch! Thanks to Sean and all the folks at Pro Pride!
Just purchased our third Airstream trailer, a 27’ International Serenity. Last two trailers had Hensley Hitches.. Great for sway control but was a pain hooking up and unhooking. This time we researched and decided to go with a ProPride hitch, and so happy we made the switch! So much easier! When you spend a small fortune on an Airstream.... you shouldn’t opt for anything less than the best! Worth every penny and a small price to pay to protect your investment and your loved ones along for the ride.
In December of 2019 my Pro-Pride hitch saved my life.I was on the way home at 9pm on route 60 heading west bound. It’s a one lane in each direction highway without a center divider. Traffic was heavy and we were all traveling at 70mph.A guy in the opposing lane pulled right into my lane and was not moving, after 6 or 8 seconds of trying to figure out if this guy was going to get back in his lane, I did the only thing that I could,I turned my truck into the grass and rock sloped shoulder at 70mph and pulled back into the lane after I passed the wrong way driver. Then I spent a few more seconds thanking my creator for the miracle that just happened (in my head). The trailer did not budge an inch. I was able to somehow maintain control of a 8000 pound toy hauler loaded up with gear, thru the sloped unpaved, shoulder and get it back on the asphalt without jackknifing or rolling over.Without your hitch, I would have absolutely lost control of the trailer. My wife and 3 children were in the truck with me.That experience rattled me in a bad way. This should have, and likely would have, been a catastrophe without a pro-pride hitch. If you are reading this and considering the hitch, I would say that it may be more expensive than some of the standard designs on the market, but whats your life worth? Whats your familys life worth? More than the cost of this hitch, thats for sure.
Outstanding service. The hitch is absolutely amazing but if you’re new to towing it is somewhat complicated to understand how to setup and make adjustments. However, that is of no concern as the customer service this company provides is absolutely exceptional. Fast detailed responses every single time, and ive never waited longer than a half day to get an answer. Whether it be by phone, email, or facebook. Few companies can make great hitches and this is one of them, but what sets them apart is the customer service. Buy with confidence, its worth every penny.
Love our pro pride. We bought a camper that needed a smaller stinger. Called pro pride and he answered right away. They sent the wrong one but with out fail, he immidiately sent one over night and asked us to return the one previously sent. It included the shipping label. No extra cost to us. You can always reach him with any questions. Amazing owner.
I have owned this hitch for 2 years, the hitch prior was one that the dealership provide and made the towing experience scary. I did buy my hitch 2nd hand and have a so adjustment question, Sean emailed me promptly and even though I did not purchase from them directly, I was treated as if I did.Thank you for all you guys do. Your customer service is stellar!
I LOVE IT! Had a fellow RV’er recommend ProPride. I’m fairly new to pulling an RV, but had some concern after the first time out from the dealership. I was also concerned about how much my F150 could handle pulling a 28 ft, 6,500 lb trailer (dry weight). Had the opportunity to talk with Sean, and he was very friendly and ready to help. The install took much longer than I had planned, but mostly due to trying to work around a couple accessories my trailer had on the tongue that got in the way. Well worth the time and money!!!! We are currently in the middle of driving from MS to AZ, and we are now in the high winds of west Texas. Though we do feel the winds hit us from time to time, ProPride handles it well. No white knuckles here. Oh, and I don’t even notice the semi’s passing me or vice versa. My wife and I now have a very relaxing experience pulling our rig. Get a ProPride hitch!
I met Sean the owner of ProPride over 6 years ago. I had just bought my second camper and explained to him all the problems I had with my first hitch that came with the camper. He took his time with me, explained towing forces in depth and how his hitch worked and WHY it worked that way. He also explained the difference about the many other hitches available. He spent close to two hours patiently answering my questions and my multiple phone calls afterwards! AND NOT ONCE did he push Proprides hitch on me, he never asked if I wanted to buy one. His product has made a huge difference in our camping experience. We go out 12 to 14 times a season, mostly weekend trips. Without exaggeration I get two to three people per trip that want to chat with me about my hitch. I LOVE IT! The Propride 3P has been all he said it would be and FAR more frankly. They take great pride in craftmanship, its American made, and that alone makes this Navy Vet proud. I like doing business with companies who care about me and you. Sean and his team do. They take RVing and towing these rigs serious. Its a great hitch, and a better company.
Made it possible for us to enjoy our travel trailer. No sway and the feel of control while towing is a good feeling. Extreme sway using original hitch kept us from using our trailer. Buyers regret kicked in during first time we towed the trailer. We purchased the propride after 2nd trip hoping we could enjoy our camper and not fill panic every time we towed. The propride was the best option on the market and we are very happy with the purchase. Best customer service I have ever experienced. NO SWAY! And always looking for next place to go camping.
Took my newly installed Propride P3 for a ~60 drive! What a difference! It was quite windy today and there was no wiggle in the back at all. Trucks passing pushed me a little to the right rather then sucking me to them as in the past!Thank you again for the great phone support! I look forward to long safe towing!
This pro pride hitch is amazing. It really does take away all the sway. I have a 2018 Ram 1500 and a 30’ Grand Designs travel trailer. I will say that with the extra 200# hitch weight I did get 3” of squat. At Brents recommendation I installed a set of super springs sumo springs. Now I only get 1” of squat and only have to lift the jacks up 6” for weight distribution. Excellent product and outstanding support
Best customer service experience I have ever had in a long time!! Began with my first call for information, talked with Sean about my excursions, my plans, he answered all of the questions I had, the next day I placed my order for two hitches, Im so glad I made the call!! The hitches have been amazing!! Thank you to everyone at Propride!!
I used to be an avid camper back in the early 2,000s. I was towing a 12K pound 35’ travel trailer with a Ford F250 diesel and a Hensley Arrow hitch.I remember how comfortable we were when pulling that trailer around the country. We started enjoying RV life again last year, after being out of it for about 15 years. Our current setup is a 7,500 pound 31’ travel trailer, a Ford F250 diesel, and a ProPride 3P hitch. Before buying the ProPride 3P, we were using an Equalizer hitch. While we had no serious issues with the Equalizer, I always felt that there was something different or wrong when pulling the trailer. Towing did not feel as I remembered it felt when towing with a Hensley. I could feel the 18 wheelers pushing or sucking the trailer when passing, I could feel the cross-winds, and when I looked on the side mirrors, I could see the trailer swaying. The swaying was very small, and the Equalizer friction-based sway control was working, but we were not as comfortable as we used to be. I had this funny feeling, I did not feel completely safe, so I started looking for other options. That is when I found that the great Jim Hensley designed hitch was improved in the form of the ProPride 3P.As soon as we took our first trip with the ProPride 3P, we recognized the comfort and relaxation that we were missing. The towing experience between the Equalizer and the ProPride is night and day. The Equalizer is a sway control hitch, the ProPride is a sway elimination hitch. ProPride’s design makes the trailer and the towing vehicle one; sway is eliminated. We no longer feel the 18 wheelers, or the cross-winds, or the little sway that was bothering me. The ride is now very comfortable, and we feel safe and relaxed. The ProPride 3P also shines when it comes to weight distribution. The weight distribution jacks allow you to easily fine tune your tongue weight distribution. Since there is no pivot point at the hitch ball, there is no longer a seesaw ride feeling. The ride is very smooth. We are so happy with the ProPride 3P that we are now planning a 2020 trip across the country. That is a trip I was hesitant to take with the Equalizer hitch.Lastly, customer service from ProPride is the best. Where else can you call or text the company president to get your questions or concerns answered? Sean Woodruff answers every email or text message I send him. Sean stands behind his company and his product and makes you feel like you are part of the ProPride family.
Used blue ox before this and while it was good, it was also fussy. On my 30 ft Airstream at full interstate speed on windy days and 18 wheelers all around, there was challenging sway. ProPride is a expensive product if it does not end sway. However, it does end sway snd is easy to use. Money well spent when living riveted. Protecting one’s property and ones life is worth the investment. Thank You to the ProPride team and especially Brent.
This is the best trailer hitch in the world. I am using my ProPride hitch on an Expedition Max w HD Tow pulling a 32ft, 7800lb trailer. I am at the limit and the only reason I feel completely comfortable is because of this hitch. There is ZERO sway and no negative affect from passing trucks or winds. I crossed the Tacoma Narrows Bridge (very big Bridge) with 25-35 knots of crosswind. Several big gusts and she was steady. No sway at all.The big plus to the hitch is Sean Woodruff. He is the owner and is always willing to help and has a fantastic reputation and service record. These are expensive hitches compared to others but they are not in the same class. When compared to the price of your trailer this gear is a fair price will do more to improve your towing RV experience than anything. This hitch has amazing build quality. It’s beautiful.
First, my setup for perspective: 2016 f150 screw, 3.5 EcoBoost, Max tow package, 3.55 rear. Bilstein on rears, Michelin LT tires, 3p pulling a 2017 Rockwood 2905ws, 7500 lbs loaded, 900-950 lbs tw added to the truck. (Cat Scales for the numbers). 33-9 total length. Has GY Endurance E rated tires.Previously had an Equalizer hitch I used for 5 years. Worked good most of the time, but would get squirrelly in wind above 15 mph. 3p has so far made a really nice improvement. Smooth, silent when turning and backing, and made it feel much more stable. Get slight wiggle in 20+ mph wind but feels solid and not jurky. I have also found it is much easier to hitch and unhitch than the Equalizer hitch. Faster too. There are a lot of complaints about these types of hitches when hooking up and unhooking. I have found 0 of it to be true in my case. Its fast and easy, just have to pay attention. Takes only a couple minutes once you get the hang of it.It is a heavy, expensive hitch so make sure your tow vehicle can handle the extra weight. But its the best out there, backed by great service. The Equalizer is the best traditional friction hitch on the market in my opinion, but the ProPride takes it to an entirely new level. So far so good, and I would even think about a different hitch.
We purchased our 2019 GD 297 RSTS last fall, have owned several other TT prior to purchasing the Grand Design. Since this trailer was a little longer and a little heavier I decided to upgrade my weight distribution system as well. Originally purchased the Equalizer 1400lb with 4 point anti-sway. First 5 trips no problems, did take several trips to the CAT scale to get the WD system dialed in, played with the washers and brackets until I go the weight balanced and felt like the anti-sway was working. On my 6th trip it was pretty darn windy and when passing big rigs I was getting a lot of movement from the trailer. After talking to several full timer RVers I decided to take a leap and purchase a ProPride, knowing I could always sell it if it did not live up to the hype. Finally got it installed and waited a couple of days to take it out since they were predicting some windy days. I live in the NW so not hard to find winding and hilly roads, took the ProPride out for a 100 mile maiden voyage. About half of the trip was on back roads and up and down some pretty step hills, the other half was on the interstate. I also made 6 passes over the CAT scales while playing with the WD heights. Results: Truly impressed, it was a complete night and day difference between previously owned hitches and the ProPride. No sway, trailer was right behind me the entire time. Going down hills and passing big trucks it was rock solid. If someone asked me would I spend that kind of money again...hands down YES. Probably one of the smartest purchases I have ever made.Sean was super helpful and even offered a military discount.
Just got home to Northern Ohio from a trip to Florida. 1,200 miles in 23 hours towing a 32 Rockwood Windjammer with a Ford F150 3.5 EB. The last 400 miles through the Virginia and W. Va. mountains in 25 - 35 MPH wind and heavy rain. I would not even attempt to drive in such conditions with any hitch other than a ProPride hitch. Towing with my ProPride hitch is like my truck and trailer are one unit. Absolutely no sway, even when topping Fancy Gap mountain in a 35 MPH crosswind! In over 35 years of owning RVs, my ProPride hitch is the best investment Ive ever made.
Fantastic company with the best customer service I’ve experienced in a long time! I can’t praise them enough! Online videos detail the installation process and Brent responded to a couple of my email questions within minutes—and this was on Saturday and Sunday morning!! Great job ProPride!!!
Hi Sean and Brent,We were at the ProPride shop on Monday morning July 8th to get our hitch inspected and adjusted. We have over 30,000 miles on it and we felt it was time to get somebody competent to look at it. Brent McDowell took care of us and took the time to explain every single step to us to ensure that we understood what he was doing and why he needed to modify our set up. We learned more in three hours with him than what we learned by ouselves in the last three years. It was a one on one session and we really appreciated it.On the way back home, we had the opportunity to test the new setting on different kinds of roads at different speeds. Hard to believe, but we think that the new set up is still better than what we had before. The combo truck and trailer is more stable and we could feel we had better control in difficult situation. It is nice to see somebody that stands behind his product and gives a real good customer service. We wanted you both to know that we are really impressed and that we will be good “ambassador” to ProPride for many years to come.Thank you again and we sincerely hope that ProPride will continue to evolve as being the number 1 hitch on the market.Helene and RochKingston, OntarioCanada
By far the best company I’ve ever dealt with for anything!! Their response to emails and phone calls as amazing. The other day I emailed Brent at 930pm, not expecting anything back until the next day...he email back at 940 that same night. Brent and Sean are always available for helpThanks guys.
Have really enjoyed the hitch, especially out here on the plains where the winds blow all the time. Great product and equally great service! There are not a lot of companies where you call and the owner picks up the phone and helps you troubleshoot and fine tune the product to insure that you have the best experience with your particular application. Can’t say enough good about this company!
Amazing personal service and an amazing hitch. So glad I found this hitch because it save our plans to travel. It only took two trips with a friction style of sway control to convince me that I needed something better or give up the dream of traveling with our trailer.
I still can’t believe how much of a difference the propride is over the e2 we had before. Tv is a Yukon xl. Our tt is a 31’ Catalina 273bh that’s 6500 empty an 7400 loaded. With the e2 the wind would blow an you would know it. A truck or car would pass an you would know it. 18 wheelers of course did the suck an blow super bad. With the e2 we only drove 55 an that was white knuckle driving the whole way. Took our first trip with propride last weekend from Hammond LA to Gulf Shores Alabama with wind blowing an cars passing an the only thing we felt was the squishy rear end of the Yukon(we need e rated tires an shock upgrade)but that’s it. We did 65 with no problems. Could have went faster but I don’t want to heat the trailer tires up that much. We even passed ppl an 18 wheelers for the first time with 0 issue. I love this hitch. My blood pressure thanks you Sean Woodruff for this hitch. Hitching up is getting better with practice. This is truly the best hitch on the market. I can’t say enough about this awesome hitch.
This is the best weight distribution and sway control hitch you can buy hands down. When setup properly I get zero sway, pushing or pulling from wind or semis. Absolutely worth every penny. Hooking and unhooking is easier than the other styles of WDHs. Customer support is also miles above any other company out there.
ProPride is a company that is so successful for several reasons. Obviously they build a great product, backed up by the amount of customers that would have nothing else. But the difference shows up in customer service, where the customer feels like if they need help or have a question, its there. Countless stories of great service, and I am one of them. A great company, a great product, and customer service to be used as a role model for others. Thanks ProPride
This hitch, although time consuming to install and fine tune, is great. I get VERY little truck suck if at all. The sway is gone. Sean was there day or night for questions. Best customer service experience Ive ever had!I dont like that I have to be nearly perfectly level to hook up my trailer. It also takes some time to get used to how the hitch moves around when parking.
Best hitch for eliminating trailer sway! Previously used an Equalizer WD hitch and it could not control trailer sway in any type of wind. The ProPride P3 works on the Jim Hensley hitch design and has been improved to be easier to setup and maintain. The whole towing experience is remarkably better and safer - no more sway!
We have had the PP for 3 years. First towing a 30 footer with a Durango and now with a Titan XD. Recently we were following a couple of RVs when the wife noticed them wagging from side to side on a high bridge . She asked what was going on with them. I said they probably don’t have a PP. We didn’t move and we had cross winds at about 20 mph with gust up to 30mph. We are so happy we invested on this hitch.
Ive owned this hitch for a year now to pull my airstream. Ive taken it all over the mid-west and it has worked incredibly well. It may be a complicated install, but its completely worth it. Great customer service and help during the install by Sean and the community.
The ProPride hitch in itself is nothing short of amazing. However that is not the end of the story. Sean and his team is the most customer focused team I have ever seen in 45 years in the maintenance arena. Sean has been available to answer questions and provide help any time I have needed it. I have reached out to the team on weekends and holidays and received responses within minutes. I have lost and damaged parts, totally my fault, and ProPride promptly replaced them. Now as far as the hitch goes, I pull a large travel trailer with a half ton pickup. I am within max tow and payload specifications but at the upper limits. While it did take some time to “tweak” the hitch in, once completed, the hitch is nothing short of amazing. Sean and his team was available every step of the way with suggestions and solutions. The ProPride hitch is extremely flexible with many available adjustments to match any tow vehicle. I wholeheartedly recommend this hitch to anyone. Let me make it clear. If you have any concern about sway, this is the hitch for you. I have never had even a hint of sway when using he ProPride.
This review is on purchase and installation. I have not pulled my trailer far enough and/or in enough different conditions to provide a review of how well it works. The propride was shipped on time. Everything was shipped (no missing parts). The propride appeared to be of high-quality manufacture. The directions were good, but could use a little updating. What was outstanding was the responsiveness of the manufacturer of Propride (Sean). In a very timely manner, he has responded to any and all of my questions regarding installation, setup, and hooking and unhooking the propride to the tow vehicle.
The ProPride hitch has made towing our vintage airstream a much more pleasurable and safe experience. The difference is a more comfortable experience, which make the travel part of RVing more enjoyable. The product is well made and has held up the elements quite well.Sean, the owner of ProPride is hands on. From setup to support, hes accessible, patient and wizard smart on top of it. Several times, hes helped me on the go, getting back to me right away. Ill never have an RV without one and Seans commitment to his customers is impressive to say the least.
Sean is the best. I bought a used ProPride from an individual off Craigslist. When I got to the campground in Frankenmuth, MI, I discovered that one of my jacks was leaning. After messaging Sean, he invited me to come out to ProPride since it was nearby. He knew that I needed the spacers. He didnt charge me when I offered. Excellent customer service and stands by this product even a second hand used hitch.
Great product + Excellent Customer Service = Five Star!I am writing this review Five Star review because its rare to find both product and service being worthy of this kind of review. Sean and his team exemplify the term service. It starts from the moment you begin to interact with ProPride and it continues long after they have your money. I wish every company I dealt with understood how to deliver this exemplary service and attitude for their customers. I could not be more pleased with the product and the service that I have received from them.
After months and months of research, we landed with the pro pride. Can’t say enough great things about this hitch. Between the amazing quality of how it’s constructed, and how the immediate help Sean provides if you have any questions during the install, it was a no brainer for us.
I spoke to Sean, the president of the company, about a hitch for our upcoming trip across country and he promised to send one out the following week since we were leaving in 14 days. I sent an email the following day to ask about making payment. No response. The next day I called and left a message with a secretary. I emailed again a day later and then another call the following day. Then another email . . . . After a week of trying to get someone to respond I had to go to plan B since were leaving in a week. I even checked my spam folder but since I had left a message with two different human beings its obvious to me I was being ignored. Heck of a way to do business. Wasted a week of my time.*****The response from the owner below is not accurate. I do not use my real name on Google for privacy reasons. Everything I stated above is exactly how the interaction occurred. As proof Im attaching a redacted screen grab of the last email I sent to the owner.

2022-04-14Purchased and installed my ProPride hitch on our 2850BHS Aspen Trail and for spring break took our annual 3,200 trip to Florida and back. And I can say hands down what a difference from my old WDH. Never a worry with trucks passing you and the side winds. Can’t wait to get back on the road with it. And customer service is hands down the best I’ve ever dealt with. I would recommend this hitch and company to anyone.

2022-06-26We love the ProPride! We have had ours since April 2021 and it’s been a night and day difference. Before our ProPride, our RV had horrible sway! It was so bad that it was a dangerous white knuckle driving experience every time. AFTER we installed it….wow! No sway, no FEAR on the highways! The trailer was rock solid behind our truck with zero sway. I HIGHLY recommend this hitch to all my friend and families and really anyone who will listen that gas an rv! Top notch product and unbelievable customer service!

2022-06-26Pulled my 7,000# Wildwood Heritage Glen from Michigan to Montana, Idaho, and Utah last fall all through the Rockies and across South Dakota in 40 mile an hour winds. I’ve experienced a sway event with my old “sway control” friction hitch. Not fun! ProPride 3P is an entirely different level of sway management. Truley effective. And extraordinary customer support and service. Love it!

2022-08-02I’ve had my Propride hitch for almost 3 year now and I absolutely love it! You cannot go wrong with this product. I switched over from the Equalizer hitch and the performance has been night and day. I will never go back. The customer service here is top notch. 100% recommend.

2022-06-26We initially purchased our ProPride hitch for our 25 ft travel trailer a year and half ago and have vowed to never tow with any another hitch. It’s THAT great of a product. We’ve driven from Florida to Arizona and Utah, across the rockies in Colorado, and through a tropical storm in the panhandle and have not once experienced any sway. We’re about to upgrade our rv to a 37 foot TT and can do so with the peace of mind that sway will not be an issue because of this hitch.Adding to the effectiveness and dependability of the product is the exceptional customer service and support. The staff at ProPride have set the bar on the responsiveness, troubleshooting & support scale. I encourage anyone concerned about sway to look into this product, join the forums and take a look at the conversations & exchanges between the hitch owners and learn about the science behind the development of this product.

2022-06-26This is the greatest of all hitches, I wouldn’t be towing a travel trailer without one! Did a 4500 mile trip last summer and the entire experience was stress free, even through wind rain and dust storms.. sway eliminated and not to mention the quality and customer service are top notch!

2022-05-20First of all, ProPride makes really high quality products. Then there is their friendly & fast customer service. They ship their products quickly and securely, using form fitting foam to secure heavy, metal parts within cardboard containers. Products arrive in excellent condition despite their weight and shape. I will let all the other reviews speak to the effectiveness of their towing products at controlling sway and providing a more comfortable towing experience. Sean and the rest of the team work for and deserve your business.

2022-06-26ProPride 3P is the absolute best hitch hands down. It creates a stress free towing situation and bridges the gap presented by natural physics allowing my F150 to tow a 34ft travel trailer. I wouldn’t do it without the 3P. ProPride provides the best customer support of any company I have ever experienced. They stand behind their product and are promptly available to support their customers. They treat you like family.

2022-06-26I used an Equilizer hitch for 20 years and its a fantastic hitch. But, when I bought my new trailer in 2020 I started having problems with the tail wagging the dog in strong crosswinds or passing semis. I spent a lot of time and money on my tow vehicle (ball joints, steering gear, upgraded springs (VC Code), Roadmaster AS, but I was still feeling a little white knuckled and apprehensive as big rigs approached. ProPride was the final solution. I still feel the occasional buffeting of a strong wind but no sway or anything that requres much steering correction. Im a fan.

2022-06-27First time trailering and must say this was one of the best purchases. Not only one of the safest hitch out there, but customer service is outstanding. Sales arranged my install at the dealer and local support team assisted the dealer to ensure the job was done perfectly. My first experience involved unexpected W. Michigan wind gusts 30+ along with rain and this hitch kept everything straight with little to no sway as designed. If your searching for a hitch, get a ProPride... Worth the investment.
