Comment: How can A Public Storage be open till 6 pm when its closed due to property manager at one of its other three locations. Support has no info for you on if the one person that works 3 locations is at any of the locations there suppose to be at with no way to get a hold of the property manager but there nice enough to give you the property managers number who doesnt pick up at the number they give you and apparently dont care enough to return the messages or just too busy doing there own thing and who knows what there doing since they dont have to communicate with there support on where there at or were there going so when customers need help they can actually help. Better thought is, who ever thought it was a great idea for there to be only 1 property manager that works 3 locations and no other help. That was a brilliant idea too save on payroll and lose a lot of money since no 1 knows how to help.

Comment: This review is for the Public Storage location at 1040 N Main st in Orange CA. The place is well maintained, clean, and a good location. Its temperature controlled so it doesn’t get too hot or cold. Gabe is the site manager and he is super helpful. He is a good guy and has always been prompt and polite when I interact with him. The place itself is good but Gabe makes it really good.

Comment: I rented a unit here for over a year and didnt have a single positive interaction with their staff, who always seemed frustrated, or apathetic at best. They raised my rent with very short notice by an unreasonable amount at a time twice in that year and responded very patronizingly to my emails about it. On multiple occasions when I needed something from the single staff member on duty (despite the rent increase, they wont pay for adequate staff), the office was locked with no way of contacting the person who was doing their rounds, so I had to wait over an hour, once while they had my drivers license, throwing off my whole moving schedule. There has never been any accountability or apology for the inconvenience. Im so relieved to have moved to a mom-and-pop storage company for nearly $100 a month cheaper. They are gouging customers, and for what?

Public Space website let me reserve my 10x23 drive up unit with no credit card! On my move in day I had a work emergency, couldnt get there until 4:50pm when they close at 5pm & it was Easter Sunday! He found my unit damaged and called me immediately to let me know he was taking care of it. When I arrived to the unit, he showed me pictures of the damage and walked with me to the unit to show me it was repaired. We then opened it to verify all my belongings were safe and still in the order I left them. I really appreciate this kind of service. I have trust my belongings are safe, but knowing he is doing this kind of detail to watching the units, built even more trust that I am being well taken care of. Thank you to Giovanni. Comment: I’ve had such a negative experience with this property. I highly recommend looking for a different property that actually ensures that it is properly maintained. I’ve been trying to convey my issues with the management and their upper management for the last 8 months, however they haven’t taken any actions to resolve or address the concerns that I’ve expressed. For the last almost 8 months the lights outside of my unit have not been working which makes it difficult to access my unit due to it being dark and can pose a safety hazard as well. I tried to bring this to the attention of the property, but the property manager would not contact me in regards to the issue. I then decided to escalate the concern to the district manager, Tiffany, however I would always get her voicemail. Unfortunately, Tiffany was not professional enough to respond to my voicemails and I never had the chance to speak with her. After trying to communicate with Tiffany I then spoke to Bilal who said that he would address the situation, which never resulted in anything. Just last week I spoke with Ken, the Regional Vice President, who I hope will help resolve this issue. It’s just kind of interesting to see how they can raise the price of the unit and invest money in renovating their office, yet I can not get them to fix a light. This truly shows that all they care about is making money and not taking care of their tenants because there are also other lights that do not work throughout the property as well.

Comment: The office is under renovation and their temporary office is a trailer with a small sign. I was rushed to sign the contract just to find out too late the gate hours are ridiculous! But the reason for the one star is that I was pressured to leave a review, the woman said “do you have a google account? Can you review us while I finish your paperwork, but we only accept 5 star reviews” what in the world? What happened to my constitutional right of free speech? I declined and suddenly she was already done with my paperwork. So in other words she lied and tried to trick me to leave a review right there and then before I even had any experience with the place. I gave my number and asked her for them not to call me. She said only for emergencies. Well they have called 7 times since because I never put a lock on the unit as it is useless to me with those gate hours, which are the same as my work hours. Rather inconvenient. So not taking possession of the unit does not qualify as an emergency, specially after I explained this to Crystal. Who really didn’t care and let me tell you, watching her so pregnant smoking on the side of the building is rather disgusting! Not happy, do not recommend this place to anyone and they should be more profesional! Go somewhere else, not worth it.

I decided to give them another try and once again its the same story...they get you in at a special rate and super competitive prices and then boom! up goes the rent 3 months later! And I have called and left messages with the manager more than 3 times about the lights being out right over my storage unit and NEVER received a response. Dont be fooled by the good prices in the beginning...theres better places out there.So, after JUST having my rates go up I get hit again!! Another $25!!! I called to ask about the rate hike and the girl says to me...oh you should have received an email well sweetheart, no I didnt! And then proceeds to tell me thats something they do at the beginning of every new year. Really?! Increase my rates again because its a new year?! Why dont you try keeping your customers happy instead of driving them away? I guess you do just enough business to keep your doors open. And thats a joke because half the time the doors are locked with a be back sign up. Oh, and one more thing...God forbid if you need to use the bathroom!! My belongings were STOLEN out of my locker with no signs of forced entry after only 3 months of storage. Over $600 in property lost and all of my belongings were touched. Most likely an inside job judging by lack of evidence. Before and after pics included, notice the missing longboard and open boxes.

Comment: Tony & Patrick both were very responsive to a problem with a lock on my storage unit. It appeared that someone tried to drill out my lock and jammed it so as I couldnt open it. Patrick tried everything he could within his responsibilities to fix the lock but was unable to so he gave me an additional lock to secure it until maintenance could replace the hasp.Tony called me when the repair man arrived and waited until I got on location and supervised the repair of the lock and made sure it was done correctly. Comment: Dont Rent Here!The place looks nice, and the desk staff is friendly. But --the lights have burned out --all four fluorescent bulbs-outside my unit, making the unit too dark. The unit is basically not useable now. It is really, really dark! I have been in 3 times over the last two months asking about the lighting. Yes, it is on some list dating from the beginning of October but the answer I get is management is not buying any light bulbs.Also this place raises your rent frequently! You would think long time renters might get a break but they raise the rent a lot.

Comment: Employees (Tony and Patrick) were very friendly and even funny. Storage unit was clean. Fair price. Only issue I had were the hours, I wish they were open after 9 pm which I wouldnt have mind under other circumstances but in this case their hours were a bit incontinent. Overall though, I recommend this place and I would go back.

Comment: To date, I have used this Public Storage location (property 25522) for three years and have had no negative experiences with security, lighting, cleanliness, availability of the facility/unit or customer service. Recently I had the opportunity to downsize to a smaller unit and chose to remain at this same facility. I must bring to light customer service rep Tony. I could not have been more pleased with his attentiveness to my needs and his genuine desire to work with me in arranging a unit location that more than met my expectations and desires. If I owned this facility, I could earnestly state I would be more than pleased to have Tony as one of my employees. As long as I have a need for a storage facility, this location would be my preferred choice.

Comment: I really give them zero stars. I rented a 10x30 indoor locker from them in March 2014 for $327/mo. Kimberlee, the property manager told me that renters insurance was mandatory and the minimum cost was $9.00/mo. I fell for that one for two months and realized that she lied. Insurance is not mandatory. I cancelled it. They raised our rent in July 2014, after only four months to $409, an insane 25% increase. Our lease states that they need to alert us to rent increase with 30-days advanced notice in writing. The Public Storage agent told me they sent a postcard notifying us of a rent increase. However, they notify me by email that my bill is due, but they send a postcard for a rent increase. Again, liars! We moved out of there today (Sep 29) before those blood-suckers could rip us off for another $409. Is the rent increase due to an increase in the cost of doing business? No. Today, that 10x30 locker is back on the market for $359 online, or $388 in store. Shortly after you rent it, youll get socked in the shorts too!We rented two lockers from Public Storage (Canada), each for 2 years, and never got a rent increase. And each locker had its own alarm. I can understand why one person complained of a break-in. This one in Orange, CA is not very secure.

Comment: I have used storage units in the past but this was a different experience. The units are indoors and clean. What a great experience from the time Tony greeted me at the door until he walked me to the door after the paperwork was completed.Tony took me to the unit size that I thought that I needed. He wanted to make sure that I chose the right size. He took the time to show me how to lock and unlock and open and close the unit. He also showed me the keypad for the elevator and made sure I understood how to use it.Tony went over the paperwork with me and made sure I understood what I was signing.I think Tony is a wonderful representative for Public Storage

Comment: This public storage is awesome, running by very good management!!!The facility is super clean, location is good and it even provides shaded parking right in front of the elevator lobby so its very convenient!!Tony, the manager has offered great help to us to choose from the deals that best fit our needs, we were already very impressed by his professionalism and enthusiasm. in July we were thinking of moving out in order to save $$, because we had a big unit, Tony helped us to downsize it and we eventually we did save quite a lot, he was still very happy to assist, never ever gave us any hard time that other places might do. Although we are moving out today since we just moved into a bigger house, he Tony is still being so nice and helped out a lot. Thanks to you Tony, you deserve the best praise!!

Comment: I have purchased boxes and supplies from this PS location for years and have always had excellent service and help from the staff. Just recently I was in need of storage space and while purchasing more supplies I asked Tony if there was any small units available. Tony was very kind, knowledgeable and checked the inventory. Tony showed me the unit and explained everything. The facility is clean, convenient, secure and well-lit. I decided quickly to rent the unit and Tony explained the agreement and all the legalize. I highly recommend this PS location and commend Tony and the rest of the staff for their excellent service.

When I went to go see it and speak to the police, it was pried open and the cheap latch was bent inward. I spoke to the manager and said something along the lines of good thing you have cameras everywhere and she said they dont in the staircase and on the separate floors themselves....

The most important factor was the service. The level of service Kim and Rene provide is no short of being Top Tier. They made the entire process easy, fast, and stress free. Comment: I have had a storage room at the Public Storage on N. Main in Orange for years!!!! I probably have had almost every size they offer, which is a LOT!! I finally whittled mine and my 5 childrens belongs down to fit in the smallest storage last year and last week I emptied it!!! YEAH!!!! My baby got married in 2012!! I was always amazed at how clean every hall was. It was comfortable on all levels, never hot and stuffy. I knew my precious belongings were safe in every way possible. I never once saw any kind of a bug or rodent!! Unlike when I rented at outside storages where I suffered damage to belongings from mice getting to them!! YUCK!!! Kim and Rene in the office were so nice and helpful when ever I had a question. Even the other renters were considerate, helping to load something, giving you a turn with the dolly, etc. Thanks PS-Orange!! Ill be back IF I need storage again!!

Comment: Kim was so helpful!! After asking a few questions to determine what would work best for me, she shared with me a couple of options. The move was so easy because they had a deal on boxes, tape and packing material. The first month was not free but the pricing is very reasonable and the staff was really nice. Both Rene and Kim were awesome and then Heather gave me a follow up call, just to make sure everything went okay with the move. They really made a very stressful time in my life a lot better!

The showroom is very clean and theyve created artful displays of the boxes and packing supplies they sell - a very nice touch. Comment: I had such a bad experience with this facility. The management and staff do not care about their customers in my opinion. I was recommended to purchase a 10x10 unit for my items by the sales associate. I asked the sales women if I can get a bigger unit if my items dont fit when I more in. She said, yes! What she failed to tell me is that I would not receive the promotional discount of $1 for the first month if I end up requiring a bigger unit plus I would not receive a refund or credit for the unit I already purchased. So, basically I had to pay for a unit I did not use and purchase an additional unit so my items could fit at full market value (no discounts or promotions). When I spoke with the management about the situation, she was defensive and argumentative. She did not let me speak and blatantly did not care. She pretty much told me it was my fault for purchasing the wrong size. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. This facility does not know how to treat their customers nor do they have the qualifications/education to recommend the appropriate size unit for you items.The elevator is also difficult to use. I really feel wronged by this facility!!!!
