Comment: If you want to rent out a place that doesn’t care about their tenants then pure property is the perfect spot for you. This is the second time I sent a request to have something fixed and the took forever to have someone come out and fix it! Sent in a request Thursday because my bathtub was not draining and was over filling with gunk or whatever that was coming out of the drain. They told me someone would reach out to me so I waited all day Thursday and nothing, so then I messaged them Friday saying no one has contacted me and didn’t hear anything back… so I spent the whole weekend with no place to shower. Finally someone got back to me Monday after calling them again and basically they told me that since the apartments are so old, the upstairs neighbors water was over flowing into my bathtub. No apology for having someone come out so late or anything…

Comment: If I could rate them 0 I would. Do not try to rent from Pure Property Management if you are a Moor or refer to yourself as Black. I tried renting 2 homes on Mark West Springs Road since November 2023 and keep getting the run around despite being more than qualified. After advocating for myself they finally approved me for the home the last week of March 2024. The email and phone conversation with Erika told me congratulations on being approved and that Conchetta Flemings would be contacting me with the final steps. This was on a Friday. I waited the entire weekend to hear from Conchetta, no contact. The Monday came and went still no contact. The Tuesday morning I called Erika H again to let her know that I still havent heard from Conchetta. I was told that she should be contacting me soon.The following Wednesday I received an email saying the home is no longer available, mind you, I was told that my application was the only application they had received for the home on Mark West Springs Road during the 2 final weeks in March. I called Erika and ask why did I receive such email after they had already informed me that I was approved for the home. She said that when she inquired with Conchetta she was told that they are removing the home from their website and its no longer available. I needed a home for my daughters and I after months without a home so I had to settle for another home through a different property Management. My intuition told me they are being discrimatory towards me so I check their website daily to see if they would put the home back up for rent. I received a call from Erika on April 4th asking me if I got approved for a home yet through the other property management I mentioned to her I had also applied to. I told her yes despite them being my 2nd choice and the pure property home being my 1st choice. She said ok and hung up after I ask her to refund my application fee. It is now 830 am on April 5th and I look on Pure Property Managements website and they have now put back the home I was approved for and was told is no longer available on their website. What I gather from this is that either Conchetta or the landlord for the homes on Mark West Springs Road are racist and biased. It is not right what they have done to me!

Laura has been our rep ever since and she’s done a fantastic job responding to our needs - even helped move forward some important projects that our precious rep (prior to Pure’s acquisition) had put off for years. She has always been very communicative and collaborative with us and when we moved out, we were honestly sad to leave! The service and the little community of other renters we had around us was so wonderful.On that note: Pure offers rents that are extremely competitive and often much lower than average for the area. It was their reasonable rent rates that allowed us to gradually save enough money to buy our very first house! I can say this definitely would not have been possible without Laura and her team, as well as the property owners who really understand that the goal of renting should be a stepping stone to eventual home ownership and genuinely want their tenants to realize that dream.I will always value my time in that apartment and I’m so glad that someone else will soon have the opportunity to live there and get a leg up on their dream as well.

Comment: My latest experience with this company has been horrible. I’ve been talking to Jaidene and Giselle to help resolve the issue but it’s been almost 4 months already. It started off in mid December where there was a minor leak in my bathroom. It took them two weeks to get a plumber to take a look, and in that time a huge bubble formed in my bathroom and mold everywhere. This turned into them having to close off my bathroom to tear down the walls, which they found more mold in my kitchen. They ended up closing off my bathroom and kitchen, and in the meantime gave me a different unit to use which would’ve been fine if the other units bathroom and kitchen worked properly! The sink was dirty and had hair in it and wouldn’t drain and I found mold in the fridge! I told them about the issue and 3 months later still has not been fixed. Also during this whole process my electricity went out and they told me they can’t fix it until the repairs are done so I’ve been living with no bathroom no kitchen to use and no electricity. Also keep in mind the unit they gave me is across the whole complex so December-March they expected me to walk in the pouring rain for my basic needs. I tried calling them, no answer. I tried emailing them for help, which either they would ignore me or take a week to reply. I’ve mentioned meeting in person multiple times which they won’t answer me. Finally tried to go into the office to talk but surprisingly they weren’t there and was told the best way to get ahold of them was through email… which at the time had emailed them already and a week had passed by with no reply. I even talked to the 3rd party that’s been doing the repairs for my apartment and even they said they sometimes don’t get a reply so no wonder why it’s taking so long to fix everything because they tend to not be on top of things.

While very few people truly love their landlord or property manager, Pure is a company that so far has been easy to partner with for happy renting.

Comment: Update: PURE property management has acquired DeDes, along with multiple other local rental agencies.~Update: I was compensated by Keith Becker for the cleaning I did. My rating Id now 5 stars. I am 100% satisfied with my experience at DeDes~With Perlas help, we were able to apply for our house and get accepted within 1 week. The process was very easy. Also, DeDes Rentals was consistently the only agency that always had some rentals which allowed pets We love our home.Sadly, I just found out that the time I spent cleaning the filthy kitchen and laundry appliances will not be reimbursed. I asked to be reimbursed for $75 for 3 hours of cleaning with my supplies, or $88 for a pro-rated rent amount. The rental manager declined my request and said it was as-is. I didnt know that could apply to cleanliness.

So I called them and was put in touch with Keehay Jackson. I cannot say enough good things about her, but let me try to mention a few. Firstly, she asked very thorough questions on the phone, then followed up with the details over email so that I could listen instead of taking notes on the call. Secondly, she followed up with the proposed contract over email. Now, mind you, that all of this happened before I had even met her! Comment: We applied on a Sunday for a house that was on the market for over 60 days! We didnt hear back after two days and they were not answering the phone so I located their email address online. Their response was your application is on hold. We checked in again for a timeline and the property manager said she was giving the previous applicant one more day to submit proof of her service dog; she didnt get back to us again. We got ahold of her and she said she would call us on Monday by Noon; nothing. After reaching out again, it took her 10 minute to make a final determination: They do Not lease to ANY person with a credit score lower than 700, even your 18 yr old childs credit score is a factor lol. For whatever reason, she called us back and said she would talk to the property owner. The property owner agreed to rent us the house....but her supervisor declined:1 of our scores was 34 points from 700, the other was way over 700, excellent rental history, on-time credit card and mortgage payments, and income more than 3x the rental amount; this was insane, we were declined twice in the same day!As a property owner and finance director - OWNERS BEWARE - it seems like this company will leave a home vacant for months, choosing to monitize on application fees over renting out a home; I would NEVER use this company to manage my property!

Comment: I know that moving is always a challenge, especially across state lines. I never expected for my moving experience to be this excruciating. I am taking the time out to write about my experience with DeDes rentals because it was uniquely horrible.I started by finding their property on third party sites and then went directly to the website to see if the properties were still available. My earliest receipts of trying to contact the management company is from March 12th. I guess it was a misunderstanding to think that contacting the general info email or kevin@dedesrentals would warrant a reply. I then went to try close to 7 different phone numbers, all under the contact us section of the property, leading me to different recordings. One of the recordings informed me that it is company policy to require an in-person tour before any application is sent. Being from out of town, I swallowed the financial aspect and FLEW OUT TO CALIFORNIA to tour the homes. Upon my arrival the tours were shut down without any explanation. I found one property that tours were still opened for and jumped on it.I loved the property, I was willing to put down whatever it took right then to secure the place. I wasnt prompted for any application and again no one was answering the phones so I decided to stop by DeDes while I was in town.On the way, I was prompted to fill out the application and started the process. Thank God I didnt complete it before arriving. I got the the location and was greeted by THE RUDEST representative. I wish I couldve gotten her name but truly in the conversation I couldnt get a word in edgewise. She immediately shut me down and wouldnt tell me anything past theres a process and that location is no longer available. She was incredibly patronizing and told me if the property isnt on their website its not available. The property is still listed on their website even now. One of the worst customer service interactions I have ever had. She didnt take any time to get to know my information or situation and felt passionate enough to write this review. It is not fair what these property management companies get away with and have to be reminded to have some semblance of customer service interaction.

Comment: Edit: Upon moving out, I was charged for services that were existing problems and left with several issues. I was charged for an unnecessary change of locks. I was charged for maintenance and repairs that were addressed in my move in. The office charged me far too much on my security deposit. Just be careful who you pay deposits to. They may use it to fix their problems and send you on your way.After a minor speed bump with my initial application(s), Susana Hernandez and Crystal Silva provided excellent customer service and communication. I had a problem with my application initially, but was in contact with them and was able to move in on the exact date requested. Keys, contract and utilities were smooth. The only reason why I couldnt give a 5th star is because I had difficulty with communication initially. The phone operators were a bit problematic in the status of propertys. I would give a 4.5 if I could. Thank you for all your help Susana and Crystal for making the process smooth after the hiccup!Actually also bumped it up to 5 stars because they have really impressed me with the service at the property. Anything Ive needed was an easy email away and I have got the answer I needed. They have good answers and service people to help do work. Really enjoy that aspect of the agency.

Comment: The positives:Theyre responsive and kind when you speak on the phone and offer help or will send someone out right away.If an appliance stops working they work to get you a new one fairly easily. Had a fridge go out and they replaced it with one that was too big but helped get the right one in there.They got a new laundry machine when the one that barely worked broke down.Keith and Perla are very kind people, always easy to work with and helpful, but see below for the negatives on the move out as that was where I feel they felt short.The negatives:They hire the cheapest contractors they can find and the contractors they hire wont do the work right or well. (Had a carport leak that dropped residue constantly on my new car when it rained, they didnt fix it right as the grating didnt fit in the drain, and it still leaked)Laundry machines on site were terrible, and I mean terrible. Ive lived in a lot of apartments and Ive never experienced such poor laundry machines. It costs you about 5-6 dollars in quarters just to do the laundry and end up with it damp.The cleanliness when I moved in was disgusting, but I needed a place and didnt complain about it at the time. (Pee below the toilet, a dirty shower, oven still had stuff in it etc)The moving out process was the most uptight Ive ever seen especially given the above statement on the cleanliness upon moving in. I went around the house with my girlfriend for hours filling every tack hole (yes tiny little tack holes that you couldnt even make out half the time) because of the complaint that holes hadnt been filled. Getting my deposit back I was deducted based upon that.I also was deducted based upon touch up paint and minor scuffs which in any other apartment falls under the normal wear and tear so this came as a surprise to me because Ive never been charged for something of that sort. Also the way they like to paint things is by just painting over old peeled paint and not sanding it and doing it correctly therefore making it easier for it to degrade.The other surprise to me was that they called out that they had to replace items that werent there when I moved in such as a tub stopper. (The tub has a valve switch to plug and unplug the drain which didnt work upon moving in but thats besides the point).Apparently it took someone two hours to fill pinholes and paint minor wear which also is a surprise to me.Overall Id rate experience living in the apartment as fine and acceptable. The moving out part was the worst move out experience Ive had.Honestly look somewhere else if youd like to have someone who will repair your issues correctly. And unless you like losing a chunk of your already ridiculous deposit to superficial things mentioned above then I recommend looking elsewhere.

Comment: I usually never write reviews, this is probably my 3rd or 4th review ever. I feel the need to speak about the integrity and thoughtfulness of Keith and his staff. Ive been with them for 11 years now. I came to them a long time ago going through a horrible and expensive divorce, my credit was shot my life seemed to be falling out of place. I showed up at their door a wreck with some money a steady job but with a extremely low credit score. They never once made me feel like I didnt have a chance or make me feel less than, what they did do was find me a place I could afford found ways to help me get in without breaking the bank. Fast forward to all the tragic things that have happened in the North Bay. All the fires flooding and electricity crisis. Every time tragedy struck, Keith and his staff would make contact making sure we were OK and offered up solution on how we all could pull together and get through these trying times. I never once felt in fear of loosing my place or there werent willing to work with us if need be. I have lived all over the Midwest and east coast, renting every time, I have never found a property management company go that far out of their way to help their tenants feel supported and safe.
