The hotel was dark and dingy. It had a musty outdoor. Our room door was ajar and the peep hole had toilet paper stuffed in it. The bathroom floor was dirty. We had to unplug a lamp to plug in the microwave, because there were not enough outlets. The staff was friendly, and the beds were clean. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.
Positive: Only the staff were friendly Negative: Cleanliness, the hotel was not clean from the lobby to inside the room.No free breakfast only a muffin and a small bottle of water. This hotel needs a major renovation.Even two nights out of three nights I didnt sleep in the room I went to my family house
Positive: The staff was very friendly Negative: The staff was very friendly and accommodating towards my needs, however the room was run down, the walls had something splashed love it, the floor was stains and the lounge chair wax so stained I¿m surprised it was in the room. The hall smelled like po
Front desk staff she was amazing security amazing room super clean as a marine I know quality I found it here at the Quality Inn as a worker at Curlys in Paradise Upper Peninsula I know how hard it is I stayed in the best and seen the worst today I got to see the best at the Quality Inn the owner is lucky to have these two people working for them I will return Semper Fi Marine Corps approved
Positive: Friendly helpful staff Negative: It was still a bit of poop on the back of the toilet, and there were not enough electrical outlets. The carpet was dirty. The poop on the back of the toilet would be something that, in my mind, should warrant a refund, if possible?
1st time I stayed there, no problems. This 2nd time I stayed there, my bed sheets were dirty. It looked like dirty boot prints stained the sheets. I noticed they were painting rooms so I assume the maintenance guy probably stood on bed to paint higher? Front desk was friendly again during check in/out. With all the hotel price gouging, its a good hotel for the fair price. 4/5 stars.
Positive: The staff for the most part was absolutely amazing. Negative: My guest has mental health issues & was locked out of our room after waking up & running to the front desk to ask if they knew my where abouts. I went to do laundry while he was sleeping, they said they were calling the police for being half naked.
Positive: The only thing good about this hotel was the location. Negative: Dirtiest hotel ever. The hallways had a horrible smell & the floors were so dirty. Our room had a huge layer of dust & dirt on everything. We could even write our names in it.The refrigerator made a load noise and the door came off when opened. Have photo
Positive: close to airport Negative: no airport shuttle, pool hasnt been open for 2 years, no ac in lobby, breakfast wasnt very impressive, dirty lobby, left blood pressure monitor in room by accident, cleaning staff didnt turn it in. drugs being smoked in parking lot, quite a bit
I have never seen such a filthy Hotel! Mold & bugs in room, doors in common area with years of built up crud, furniture in rooms falling apart, halls filthy! Cant believe that the health department hasnt shut them down! We waited till almost 4:00 to check-in because they were waiting for rooms to get cleaned. We had to sign a paper acknowledging that there would be no refunds for any reason...we soon found out why! Unfortunately, we had 2 nights paid for and no time to look elsewhere because of event we were their for. Upon returning to the room after 3:00 the next day, we found out our room still hadnt been cleaned. We complained and left for dinner. When we returned, our soiled towels were removed, but no fresh ones returned. We found someone from housekeeping and finally got towels dumped in a pile in our room when we went out for the evening
Booked a room for July 14, at Quality Inn & Suites Airport 2361 Austin’s parkway flint Michigan 48507.I have a compromised immune system so I take extra precautions with my health especially with what is going on these days.Upon checking in I noticed that when I arrived the room was really disgusting I went down to the front desk and I asked for a different room, she then switched me to a different room I was at room 208.This room was even worse than the previous one after moving all of my belongings to this room I did not want to have to bring them to another room so I actually brought them to my car and I stayed the night in my car in the parking lot.I’m going to attach photos of the hotel you could not even walk around the hotel without shoes on. On the floor there was a ton of food and the entire hotel reeked of marijuana. Including the hallways.I found a honey bun in my bed, there was no trash bags and I also found that there was a whole bunch of dirt in the bathtub again I’m going to be posting pictures to this email.I understand that times are really hard right now and that staffing is hard to get however this room was not cleaned at all I don’t think it was even looked at, The blanket that was on the bed was all torn up and the cotton in the blanket was falling out everywhere.Again I will be posting pictures of the blanket as well. There were cigarette butts underneath of the bed and the fridge had a whole bunch of stuff spilled all in it it looks like somebody had a pop explode in there again I’m posting pictures of that as well.and I’ll be making a complaint with the Better Business Bureau if I do not get this resolved with you I just want my money back.I booked the hotel using your website.Thank youI also emailed customer service on 7/14/21In regards
Avoid this location at all cost. Rooms are disgusting. Extremely dirty. I changed rooms 3 times and each room looked like the aftermath of a party. The bathrooms have mold and dirt embedded into it. The carpet floors are sticky. The beds were never made. And a constant smell of pot in the entire building. My last day local fire department was on site to do inspections. Multiple failures
Front desk was very friendly and helpful, housekeeping wasnt sure they had that service by the way the room and halls looked, but while I was checking in I encountered 5-6 of them and all were very rude! Breakfast, gym, and pool all closed while all others in the vicinity were open. Drugs were openly being sold in the parking lot, and the halls reek of cigarettes and marijuana. Spend the extra few dollars and be comfortable
Overall the hotel was not very clean. Dirt and trash in the hallways. The floors in the room were dirty and you felt like you stuck to the floor in the bathroom. There was a hole knocked through the plaster in the bathroom. We asked for additional blankets and they were all torn. They smelled clean and the person who brought them said they got stuck in the seal on the dryer when they were washed/dried and that is how they were torn. I guess that would be possible but then throw them out and get new.
I reserved 4 room with my credit card and before my crew was able to check in at 6:05 pm the next day, they had given 2 of our rooms away. We then had to find 2 more rooms at another hotel for the rest of our employees. Also, one of the rooms only had half of the inside lock so you werent even secure in your room. Had groups of people gathered in the parking lot being sketchy. Over all experience was not good and will not be back.
I can only speak to the outside and the rudeness of the staff. Went to check in well after check in time and was told the room would not be ready for an hour. When you are traveling from out of you have NOWHERE to go. The ladies were rude...the hotel looked nasty....we left and got a better hotel. I would suggest Holiday Inn Express..worth the few extra dollars.
Positive: The front staff was very nice. Negative: The reason we picked the hotel was the shuttle to the airport, the shuttle didn¿t run. The hotel linens, rugs, toilet, shower was dirty. The door had NO security, anybody could walk in on the sides of the hotel. Our door did not lock!
I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place, a family member booked my grandpa a reservation here because online it said airport shuttle.. no air port shuttle, rooms could be better, had to call maintenance to get the tv working. I’ve stayed at better mom n pop motels for less a night than $80 some a night here.
This hotel is a joke. I was coming in to stay for a wedding and the whole bridal party came in and we had 3 rooms. We all had to leave and find a different hotel. There was Blood on the curtains and lamp shade and a ball of hair on dresser in one room. Nasty bathroom and hair in tub and our jacuzzi in another room and just a bad 30 min experience before we checked out. We checked out as fast as we could check in. Lady at front desk, Anne was very rude 2 days later when I called about my refund. She hung up on me 3 times while talking to her. Said everything is taken care of before we left which was a lie. She told me she had to wait for some lady to give her the ok to refund us. But we all left to get a new hotel before we couldn’t get one at all. Please do not stay here. I was charged twice for my hotel room and the bride was charged 3 times for hers, and none of us got our refunds back. We have to call corporate now. I’m not happy.
Said we denied room service. Would not give us more than two towels when we were staying two nights.Dirty rooms and halls. Said the pool was open when we booked but it wasnt. Clogged bathroom sink. Broken thermostat and shower rod. Rooms were smoked in and not clean. Burns in the bed sheets. Vending machines were broken. Dirty parking lot.
Expectations were low because we had stayed here a few years ago and it was bad but we needed a room and didnt want to spend a fortune. It was just as bad as we remembered. I cant believe that this place is still called a Quality Inn. It is dirty and run down. The carpet on the stairs is indescribable how dirty it is. The furniture in the room is old and beat up. There were no pictures on the walls and no phone on the room. There were chunks of food (perhaps chocolate) running down the side of the bed and across the floor. There were splashes of ketchup on the wall. We dis not place any of our stuff on the floor, we didnt dare. All of the handicapped parking spots were taken by non handicap cars. I cannot say this loud enough DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. IT IS AWFUL.
Terrible customer service…. My fiancé has been staying here as a travel tech at Hurley hospital taking care of Flints sick patients he has seen a lot and been through a lot during his 4 months here. He was supposed to check out at 11 am this morning and the front desk was so rude and unfriendly about it he literally got off work and had to start getting his stuff out of his room he asked for extra time they gave him a whopping 30 minutes. I came out to help him drive clear back to Utah just having surgery and couldn’t help him lift heavy things. This lovely place and lady at the front desk was so rude and had no remorse. Terrible, terrible place to stay especially when someone who is in the medical field taking care of flints own people has no leeway to get moved out after working all night if I could give less than one star I would for sure especially for the person at the front desk on July 18th 2021 at 110 AM she is a terrible employee.
I wish I could give no stars. First the bathroom light didnt work there is no lock on the door and half the lights in the room did not work. Ill check in for two nights. I checked out after six hours. They are gracious enough to give me my deposit back but theyre refusing to give me my cash back for the night that I didnt use. I have the receptionist on video claiming that the owner will send me out a check Monday morning. But then screened and told me to f off as Im walking out the door. They are very unprofessional road do not know how to clean the rooms or be professional behind the front desk. If I do not get a phone call stating that my check is in the mail Monday morning I will post the video of the girl at the receptionist desk lying to me and then telling me to f off with their wonderful customer service
Thought building was a no smoking building, but it reeked of cigarette smoke. No way to close the curtains.Bedspread was dirty.Appreciated the sack breakfast. When checking in had to wait as the lady was doing something with files on the computer, a good 15 minutes.Staff was friendly. When asked if the building was a non smoking building, they stated it is. She said the problem is that people smoke anyway. Now they charge a $50 fee. When leaving, your room is checked for smells and signs of smoking. If you dont pass the inspection, you do not get your $50 back
Very dirty hallway all the floors, even the entry way, Being pop/water machine doesnt work should have it offered by front desk, so that someone coming in from a great distance, and/or late doesnt have to leave to go purchase it elsewhere. also I know that marijana is legal in Michigan but seriously needs to have a smoking area away from doorways, as we were heading to door to go end, was horrible, I under stand its legal but its shouldnt be allowed to be that close to entry ways.
Desk person said we were no show for the previous night, when we had cancelled that reservation though Choice Reservations two days before. She didnt reverse the charges for the previous night, nor did she leave a note for the manager to make the reversal the charge the next time he/she came in. Have been trying to get this resolved with Choice corporate since then, to no avail.
Well if you’re staying here because of a shuttle…don’t. Airport is literally in their name AND on their website as one of their “free amenities”. Yet when you get there…no shuttle & they’re like 🤷🏻♀️ “We should have changed the website”. Umm you think? Would not recommend.
The lobby looks nice, but thats where it ends. The bathroom had a broken fan and leaky tub faucet and ants in the floor. The rug was torn. The door didnt even close on its own. Other guests were obviously smoking, even in the adjoining room. When I called the front desk to complain as soon as we got into the room I was blown off. Told maintenance would be by and the smoke must have been coming from outside.
You get what you pay for. Not much. The building is pretty outdated. It makes sense though. Its not in the best area to begin with. Some new carpet, lighting in the hallways, and a few minor upgrades to aesthetic infrastructure would make it appear to be a more upscale hotel.I had a leaky faucet. All I could hear was dripping for my entire stay. I dont know who the head engineer is, but the hotel isnt exactly space worthy. The staff was very friendly. Friendliness goes a long way. Kudos to all of them.I wish I had known that the pool and continental breakfast were canceled due to Covid-19. I should have just known it intuitively, I suppose.
Staff is friendly but the room is filthy. Theres stains all over the floor, the furniture in the room is falling apart, there are cracks in the bathroom floor, towels are covered in dirt, there is metal sticking out of the wall in the shower, the shower rod isnt even attached to the wall and there isnt even a trash bin in the room. What a waste of $200. Not coming here again
Simply Awful.I requested to be moved to another room as my the bathroom as it was very dirty; they gave me the cleaning products to do it by myself as they run out of rooms.Honestly surprised how health department is not closing it...For the rest its more a shelter for homeless than hotel.Be careful, not safe at all!
Paid full price, wasnt allowed to have access to the pool. Was told that pool would remain close along with fitness equipment, arcade, and the vending machine, until the pandemic was completely over.Certain there was blood on our walls, sounded like the people above us was going to fall thru, had to clean shower before able to get in, could tell they hadnt really cleaned in a long time. Phone didnt work. Will not be going in the future.
Building is outdated. Walls are dirty with stains. Five lamps in the room but only three of them work. There was a terrible odor in the room. There was also tiny flying insects in the bathroom. The staff was ok but this place is absolutely falling apart. A very dirty hotel.
Room was disgusting. At a time when standards are extremely high the standards BASIC cleanliness and sanitation are clearly no priority here. There was substances all over the bathroom door, floors had clearly visible dirt and debris on the floor and the microwave didn’t look as if had been cleaned for an elongated amount of time. To add to our experience the customer service was extremely poor. The receptionist was condescending and patronizing.
After waiting over half hour in lobby that smelled of pot, the guest in front of me got her check in completed. When my husband and I got to room we found the dresser was missing a front of drawer Then as I tried to hang my clothes the closet rod fell off immediately dumping clothes to floor. The bed pillows were small square like a throw pillow. We did not stay at all. Anne said she refunded my charges and gave me a receipt with zero balance but there are pending charges at this time. This hotel was awful and the rest of our group who tried to check in the following evening ended up leaving due to someone cancelling half of their confirmed reservations. Very disappointed!
PK is the manager and made my visit horrible. I will not stay here again. I have my service animal with me and when the manager knocked on my door my animal alerted to the door. I was told to leave because my dog is not a service animal cause he barked. My animal was doing what he is trained to do. Even after showing proper documentation for my 9 pound service animal. Still nothing. Ive even contacted Choice about this.
Lobby was surprisingly nice. Rooms were OK, with some updates like flat screen TV. But the sitting chair was so dirty and shabby that I would have never sat in it. Bedding was nice and mattresses were comfortable. Room seemed clean. Check in and shuttle service went smooth. Competent staff. I left the hotel at 4:45 am, before breakfast was set up. But the very nice desk person let me pick out some yogurt, muffins, and fruit from the kitchen pantry.
It was a quick and easy check in. Friendly staff. Good safe location. Several restaurants within walking distance. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was carpet on the floor its always hard to keep that clean. Would like to see them move to some sort of hardwood or ceramic. If ever in the area I would not hesitate to stay here again
The hotel needed to be cleaned thoroughly. They shouldn’t require their guests to come to the lobby for things that should’ve already been present in ones room. The back entrances should be locked at night accessible via keycard only to provide safety for those staying.
I was charged a $150 deposit because of smoking in the room and I don’t smoke. They denied me my deposit. Upon arrival my room was not ready. When they said it was ready I walked in and there was trash still in the trash can (a rushed job) the smoking could’ve easily come from the guest before me because the fire alarm was also missing batteries. When I took the necessary precautions to follow the chain of command I was not taken seriously and they refused information that I had every right to know. I asked for a supervisor and was connected to another employee. I would not recommend this particular hotel to anyone.
The worst hotel Ive ever been to. Everywhere around the hotel was dirty. Room didnt appear to have been vacuumed. Microwave and fridge smelled. The whole room smelled. Light switches had visible filth. Hair dryer had visible filth. Phone had visible filth. Parking lot had litter everywhere.
8-12-2020 We booked online through our airline Allegiant. Our room was supposed to be ready by 3:00pm. We arrived at 4:30, checked in and were told our room would be ready in another 30 minutes because housekeeping was running behind, so we went to dinner at a nearby Fudruckers Restaurant because it was too hot to just wait around. (We were also charged a $50 cash deposit.). We returned at 6:00pm and were told our room was ready. We went upstairs to room 335, opened the door and saw trash and towels on the desk and floor. We didn’t even go in, just took a photo, closed the door and requested our money back (it may take 30 days to get that back.) The maintenance guy looked at the photo and ran upstairs to clean the room and came back a few minutes later saying it was clean. My husband asked if he’d changed the sheets and he asked if we wanted that done too. We got our deposit back and made a reservation elsewhere.
Our stay here was awesome to say the least. The staff were very friendly, courteous and had a great sense of humour. The hotel was spotless and looked clean. Although some of the bedding, curtains and decorations were dated, it was a great place to stay. The continental breakfast was excellent, and when they ran out of something, there was someone there to fill it up without the need to ask or search for someone. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed for the sleep, park and fly and will be returning to do it again next year.
We actually stayed on December 24th and January 1, 2016 when we returned from our trip. On December 24th our toilet was not working and we had to switch rooms, maintenance man told us that it had been broke for awhile and he thought they would be replacing the unit. Our friends that were traveling with us, their room had dirty clothes laying on the floor in the closet. The overall condition of both rooms were dirty and worn out. Very much in need of a serious cleaning and updating. We stayed again on January 1 because they did keep our car and provided shuttle service to and from the hotel which is very nice. On the January 1 stay we discovered that the outside side entrance to the hotel was broken and did not lock which did not make us feel very secure. Our friends room did not have a working security latch on the door. Again the rooms are very worn and in need of cleaning and updating. Our bathroom tub had soap build up where the soap lays indicting it had not been properly cleaned. We have photos of the room condition if you would like us to send them to you. We probably would not have stayed there the second night if it were not for the fact that we did not arrive at the hotel until midnight and it would have been very difficult to find other accommodations. The people working there were friendly and as helpful as they could be but the management is the one that needs to step it up and renovate the facility. I can say that the beds appeared to be clean.
I did used to work here so i felt comfortable because i thought i remembered how nice the rooms where.... A lot has changed!!!!!! I looked at about 5 different rooms with 2 queen beds. All had a horrible smell like mold. The bathroom tubs had stains on them that I dont think Mr. Clean him self could get out ( they need to be replaced ) along with tile. The carpet in hallways that is part of the new update needs to be cleaned badly!! I had family coming in and I actually was embarrassed but I didnt want to drive an extra 30 minutes away. I got offered to upgrade to a suite they did discount a small amount off and it didnt seem to bad like the others. The a/c unit ran all night even if it was shut off so it made it either way to cold or very hot. The staff for the most part was friendly. I also requested a late check out it was a Monday and they had a lot of rooms available but only gave me 30 min .. most give me till at least noon or 2 since im a gold member. I wont be coming back
We had a pretty good stay! The pool looked like it could of been vacuumed out really cloudy so we wasnt able to enjoy it and the housekeeping manager was really rude, but the housekeeping staff was very pleasant. Also our socks turned brown from the carpet in the room.
I will never stay here again. Ive never stay at a hotel so disgusting in my life!!! I will not recommend to anyone. I use to stay there frequently when would visit family. Ive been a choice Diamond member for years and even the upgraded room advertised was not honored at this hotel.
I stayed at a Quality Inn at a great price and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and luxurious it was. It had real class as well as a homey feel. I was treated courteously by the desk clerks, and slept better than I do at home. I would definitely stay there again.
After the initial lock out when we arrived, their were no really major problems. The staff always greeted me with friendly smiles. The room was clean and satisfactory. The beds were comfortable and we rested wellThe pool area looked to be nice, but we never got to use it because there were a lot of children here for our stay and it was usually packed..
It was not ideal and the hotel felt out dated. The food was ok. And also the overall service felt very unstable. We also had to wait a hour almost to get into a reserved room that we arranged a late check in because of late flight time. Plus the hotel was outdated and the room was not ideal for the set up and also the room phone was not even working. A refund would be ideal because we felt the room was dirty too and bathroom had hairs collected in bath tub and room was not truly ideal upon arrival.
Good for the money. This is not a 5star hotel. It is very outdated and a little run down. The rooms are very good size and the sheets and towels were clean. There was a microwave, fridge and coffee pot in the rooms as well. The breakfast that was included was very nice for the price you pay as well. If you are looking for a clean place to sleep without paying a fortune than this place is perfect.
My husband and I lean toward staying at Quality Inns expecting well, a certain level of quality. To say that this was not the case at this hotel would be an understatement. This hotel is in need of a major overhaul, but aside from that it is in need of a major cleaning. The entries and stairs (no elevator) and hallway had the appearance of not having been cleaned in several months. The bathroom in our room had drops of coffee on the vanity and the mirror was not clean. There were cobwebs in all the ceiling corners in the bathroom and the shower curtain would not stay closed as the rod was coming out of the wall on one side. We couldnt use the bathroom fan as when it was turned on it sounded like a semi was driving through the room. The mirror in the room itself had a big oil spot in the middle of it and the blanket on the bed was torn. At breakfast we had sausage that was still partially frozen, there was not enough coffee made, and the front desk person told the breakfast attendant to stop putting out so much of the flavored creamer. I particularly noted that because I am a person who uses flavored creamer. We stay in Flint on a fairly regular basis and usually stay at a different chain hotel down the street, but because we have been starting to try to stay at more Choice Hotels in our travels we thought we would give this one a try. We will not be returning to this particular Quality Inn as there is no quality to it whatsoever. I will say that the front desk person was friendly enough, until I heard her talking about the creamer thing, and she referred to everyone as honey which I find to be very unprofessional. The breakfast attendant was friendly but seemed overwhelmed since she could not keep up with coffee, served half frozen sausages, and had to deal with the desk person talking to her about flavored creamer. If we had been staying for more than one night, we would have checked out early and found a different hotel.
Previous guests had violated the no smoking policy so room was sprayed something with a very strong odor to try to mask it. Window opened, so that helped with fresh air. Bathroom was clean but bathtub/shower needs attention. Bed was comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was adequate. Gym was adequate.
This was hands down the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have never written a hotel review before but this was so bad I pray that people dont make the same mistake we did. It is not worth the cheap price we had no other option. The rooms were absolutely disgusting the girl at the check-in desk was very rude. We couldnt even get clean sheets or towels because she said that they were out.
Very good stay, Bedroom and the furnishings were very accommodating. The bathroom was clean and tidy. The swimming pool was clean but cold. It was nice to use the gym. The one thing that bothered me was, that I had to walk up the stairs and I have problems with my knees, arthritis. Not enough tables and chairs for breakfast, which was very much appreciated. service was good. Thank you.
I am always treated with respect and courtesy. The cleaning staff is always helpful and courteous. I enjoy the breakfasts, I just wish the policy of taking your breakfast to your room would be reconsidered. This hotel gets pretty busy and many times there isnt enough room to sit at the tables and enjoy your breakfast. Thank you.
I would have loved to give this hotel a better rating, as I rarely give a bad one and think before I do. As Diamond members, we stay often at Choice Hotels, so we are able to compare and contrast. What made this even worse is that the promised call from the manager never happened--I guess it just was not important enough.I will talk about the major CON firstly. Our room was filthy and unsanitary. When we checked in, we noticed the hot tub was dirty and grimy, with hair and dirt on the bottom. It was if the drain was opened and the faucet started and shut off, allowing gravity to empty the tub but leaving dirt and debris. No problem, we thought, we will just clean it ourselves properly. The next morning, we were checking out. My wife and I inspected the room to make certain nothing was left behind and to clean up after ourselves, as we hate leaving stuff for others to clean up. It was then we noticed food particles in our bed, and we had not eaten there. We wondered if the linens were even changed. We noted in a drawer some soiled sheets and a blanket just thrown in the draw, obviously used and dirty. My wifes nightstand drawer revealed garbage, from soda bottles to wrappers, to half-eaten food. DISGUSTING!We called the front desk, and they sent the housekeeping manager over. She seemed annoyed she had to come by. She apologized for the hot tub and the garbage; never mentioned the food in our bed; and stated that the sheets in the drawer were hotel policy. I could not get an explanation of what the latter meant. At checkout, the clerk asked about what happened. She explained that the sheets are for the foldout bed, so they do keep linens in the drawer. She says they are supposed to be checked to make certain they were not used between guests and that this apparently was not done. She apologized on behalf of the hotel, and stated that she would have the manager call me and took my phone number. Five days later--NO CALL.Now, this hotel does have some positives. The staff is very friendly, except for the housekeeping manager, who although was professional, seemed annoyed. The breakfast was very good. The lobby is beautiful.
Stayed here as a pre-night before a long flight to Hawaii. While the proximity to the airport was nice, we would never stay here again. Upon checking it, we opened our room door to an absolutely FREEZING condition. The heater only blew ice cold air. Went to front desk to ask to be switched and she said to go back to the room and wait for maintenance. After waiting awhile, maintenance showed up and confirmed what I told the lady at the front desk... it was broken... not a user not knowing how to turn it on properly! Still would not change our rooms, but instead had us wait around for a long time while maintenance could go to another room and tear apart a unit to get the part he needed. Then, came back to our room to swap out. Not sure why they just didnt have us go to the room with the working part. The hotel was pretty empty! Anyhow, even after switching out the parts, he still had trouble getting it to reset and blow warm air. After a long period of time, it finally started. We are now talking well over an hour or 2 of sitting in ice cold conditions (plus it takes a long time on high to get the room to warm up).All this and that doesnt even address the ripped carpet, stains on walls, misaligned door catches, etc. If we ever stay somewhere for close proximity to FNT, it will not be this hotel.
We chose this hotel because it was the only one with a shuttle to the airport that started prior 6 a.m. (our flight was at 630). The front desk staff (Honey and Carlos) were very nice and friendly. My husband left his hearing aid in the room and Carlos went to the room and retrieved it and passed it on to a taxi service who brought it to the airport. But, overall the hotel definitely needs some upgrades, a good cleaning, change of carpet (very dirty) and an elevator!
Based on other reviews, I expected to walk into a dump; however the hotel was fabulous, rooms clean and bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was hot, delicious and plenty. It was clean, and kept tidy. I only wished there was an elevator, but you cant have everything. Enjoyed every minute. Staff were accommodating and helpful, friendly and upbeat. Always a good morning and good evening and a smile!!! Couldnt ask for anything better.
WE did not enjoy our stay at this hotel because it did not feel clean and other than the bedsheets themselves everything was none too clean. The bathroom was disgusting...the tub peeling and did not look too clean and upon entering the hotel hallway and room it had a smell. I felt sort of regretful that I brought friends here...we all wanted to relax and get away and it was just hard to feel comfortable in a room that smelled and the carpet was visibly dirty and just YUK!
Besides the heater being broken in the pool during our stay, everything else was great! My boys still went swimming and enjoyed themselves!! We had a nice relaxing weekend!! The staff was kind and courteous. Especially housekeeping when we needed things like extra towels, etc!! We will go back again for sure!!
The women at the front desk was very rude and refused to assist us in moving to a 1st floor room as I am not supposed to do stairs. We then called down and asked for extra pillows, becasue Im sorry by 2 very small couch cushion pillows is a bit ridiculous. The room was not clean, the ceiling had water stains on it, the lamps had mold on the shades, the tub was dirty, there was toilet paper in the toilet when we walked in. And yes I have pictures of everything. The whole building including our room smelt like weed. The breakfast staff was rude when I asked a question. And the front desk staff refused to give me a receipt saying I had turned the keys back in. Horrible experence. I have stayed in over 20 hotels this year alone and this one by far had the rudest staff. I wish I could give no stars but it wont let me.
It was quiet, the pillows were comfortable & some of the staff were nice. Thats ALL I can say good about it. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. The carpet was FILTHY, I didnt want to take off my shoes. Some of the towels were stained and holey. The elevator didnt work and we had to carry all of our luggage up the stairs ourselves. The maid moved my shirt and put it on a sharp metal edge on the TV, when I picked it up it tore a hole in it. Luckily, it was an older shirt so I didnt complain. The pool was NOT heated and had no towels, and the hot tub was covered with wood. They said it was out of order. The unheated pool and unusable hot tub is shared with the hotel next door! In the fitness room, 2 out of 3 of the exercise machines were broken! The cleanliness everywhere was quite unacceptable from the dirty ice bucket to the toilet seat. You had to clean things yourself before you used them! The vending machines usually didnt work and there was a sign on them no refunds.
When we checked in the coffee pot was broken, we called the front desk and they said it would be replaced, but it was not and we had to call again for a replacement. Every evening we had to call to get coffee, coffee cups, towels and one night toilet paper. We asked to have the sheets changed and the housekeep staff just made the bed and set the signs on our night stands. There were questionable stains on the bed spread and we asked to have that changed, it is probably still there. The night before we were due to leave the maintenance guy told us that housekeep was marking us as Do Not Disturb WHAT? Guess that is the cover for not cleaning the room, but if this is true why did our towels disappear, along with my notes and the bed got made every day. These are the only things they did and they didn’t do it well, the sheets were always crooked. After hours brought us coffee, coffee cups, towels, toilet paper and sheets (so we could change them ourselves). Really?None of the mirrors were clean, the floor was never vacuumed and the tub was not clean.Just about every morning we talked to the front desk about these issues and were told that the manager was not available and that they would pass the information on to the manager. We asked to have the manager call us and she never did. This was a vacation! I do not go to a nice hotel to change my own sheets! You have a problem! There was no internet. We should have been refunded!
Our experience was extremely unsatisfactory. We booked this hotel for the Park n Fly feature but the hotel was unable to wake/find a driver at 4:15 AM. We then drove to the airport and paid to park. Our room was very worn out and felt unclean. The bathroom was dirty and dusty. The wifi did not work. We will never stay there again nor recommend it. We are not fussy or demanding people but minimum standards were not met. The reception desk and breakfast area were the only updated areas we saw.
We found our stay comfortable. Our room matched our expectations for the price. It is a bit older. All the employees we spoke with were pleasant. Breakfast in the morning is always a treat to me too. At home the next day, we were looking for a coat and realized it was left behind. It must have fallen in the hall. So glad someone was honest and turned it in and they were great to get it sent back to us quickly!
Positive: Location to where I was working Negative: Several screens missing out of the back of the property where people would walk up to buy drugs through the window of the rooms. In the corner of the property there were guests and vagrants hanging out partying and littering all over the grounds.
I love the staff they are all very attentive. I have never had a problem with the staff. They are always willing to work with you. Especially if things go ari and your not present for a few days you can count on them to have your back with the support of cameras of course tho. But they will help in showing that you are not at fault and who is.
Most of staff was nice. Stayed an extended amount of time do to job I was working at for a month. Motel was smoke free but most of cleaning ladies would stand two feet in front of door so you would have to walk through a cloud of smoke to get in or out. Could not get most cleaning ladies to clean room even once a week. For an overnight stay the beds are comfortable and nice breakfast. Security was lacking it appeared. Did have lots of cameras though. The back and side doors were open to anyone off the street to walk in. The carpets are in bad shape. There are rolls of new carpet that have been in hallway for over a month, have been told they are not for this motel though. They are going to the owners other motel he owns next door. Had a sticky spot on floor in my room when I moved in, asked to have it cleaned when I saw maintenance had a carpet cleaner in the hallway cleaning another room, not the hallway that needed it. The next day after it was dry the sticky was still there, i told him did not offer to re clean. Two washers, one broke the whole time. Two dryers neither one worked very good at all. Had a small exercise room with dirty machines, that maintenance has not been kept up on. No airflow in exercise room either, at least put a fan in there to move around hot air.
Rated one star because there was nothing lower. Hotel is not being maintained. Old and less expensive accommodations is no excuse to not maintain/clean. Rooms were filthy, found what looks like old dried bread on the bed rail, sheets were dirty, floor lamp was broken but being held up by chair...lamp fell apart when chair was moved, shower was dirty and floor could use a thorough vacuuming coupled with an occasional shampooing. After reporting/showing these to the staff (who took pics issues and promised to fix), it took over 5 hours to just get clean sheets. The only bright spot of this hotel was the late night front desk clerk (Carlos...extremely professional ) who promptly fixed several of the issues when we made our 2nd complaint.
This is a perfect hotel if you need a break on a long road trip. Not far off several highways and I had no concerns with the surrounding area. I felt safe arriving at night and found the night staff helpful and the morning staff even more professional. (Too bad she is there by herself though).Yes, the carpet isnt in the greatest shape and my bathtub had faded paint, but nothing dirty or gross. Beds were really comfy and breakfast was average, but still a great perk considering the price. I would go back.If I would point out something negative - the walls arent very sound proof!!!
They need to clean the furniture or get rid of it. The room was a great price, we have stayed there before but it seems to be getting old and needs some good cleaning of rugs and such. The bed was clean and comfortable so was the rest of the room. The chair was so full of stains it was terrible. Just throw the chair out. The carpet could also use a cleaning. The pool was open but no heat. We have been there a few times, because we were satisfied. The pool was always closed. Now its open with no heat, just give up on it.
I was disappointed upon arriving and noticing that the room had not been completely cleaned for my stay on Sept 21st. There was food in the fridge and microwave that smelled and was just filthy. Dead bugs were on the table....totally unprofessional and un-inviting!! When I brought this up to the front desk she was unwilling to make it right! Clearly, customer service is lacking in this place. Additionally, we were situated at the gathering place for the workers who talked loud and would have remained there had I not made the call to the front desk. I would not recommend this place to anyone for a nights stay.
I didnt stay at the property because when we checked in and went to the room they had roaches . So they were mad they had to give me my money back because I didnt stay then the next they they charged my card 200 dollars and lied and said we were smoking in the room we were in the room 10 mins before we saw the roach they are a big scam do not stay here
The clerks were amazing! Friendly and helpful. The shuttle driver was awesome as well. The carpet in my room was sticky- taking off shoes was not an option. The bathroom smelled very strongly of urine and needed a good scrubbing. For A quick overnight before an early flight it was fine.
The hotel was very easy to get to off the interstate, the hotel lobby was clean, and the lady at the desk was very helpful. Our room was ready when we arrived, we were told though when checking in that there would be a $50.00 deposit charged to our room till after we checked out. I recommend if there is any noticeable items wrong with your room, that you take a picture of it, so you can prove it was already busted. We had a drawer in the chest of drawers that wouldnt close, i took a picture of it to prove it was already broke before we got there. There was a fridge and a microwave, with was awesome for the price. We would be willing to stay there again when visiting friends in Flint, MI.
Upon arrival, the rooms were not ready by 3pm as promised. After they were ready, my coworkers and I had a lot of problems with the locks on the doors. Once in the room, found mold on the ceiling of my bathroom, bugs flying around my bathroom and a general funky smell. Thought we would relax in the pool, bad idea. There is a nice thick black ring around the top of the pool. Hot tub was covered by a giant pallet. Due to our curiosity, we picked it up to see what it looked like... man was it disgusting. Tried to do some laundry and had to run my clothes through the dryer 3 times for them to dry. At $1.50 a load on the dryer, thats a lot of quarters. Dont even want to bother with trying to get these things along with the other items I didnt mention fixed. Theres too many things to fix in a day. This property needs some real work and a truck load of cleaning supplies. If I had a choice, I would stay somewhere else. But since my company put me here, all I can do is be thankful the money isnt coming out of my pocket. As far as the good things. The cleaning staff, or at least the lady I spoke to, was quite friendly, the beds are fairly comfortable (assuming I dont get bed bugs) and my A/C unit works great (which I cant say for the unit in my coworkers room).
I was flying home via Flint Bishop airport, so I booked the Jacuzzi suite for the night before my flight. I was pleased with the price. The hotel check in was easy and the front desk staff were friendly. The room was clean though obviously older. Everything was in working order and their WiFi also seemed to be decently fast. The only thing to know about this hotel is that there is no elevator, so expect to walk the stairs with your luggage if you are on the second floor. Otherwise I thought it was a great value for my purposes, and it was very accessible to the airport.
Good lighting in the parking lot. Easy access to room and internet/wifi. I only needed 1 bed but my room had 2. The first bed I turned down had a long black hair between the sheets so I picked the other bed which appeared to be clear of any unlikely objects. I do not have long dark hair.
Rooms are clean and very nice . bed was a little hard for mine and my wifes liking . staff was very friendly and made sure you had everything that you needed . the breakfast was on the very low end . not much there to chooses from and the eggs and sausage was over cooked . you would be better off going to Ihop just down the road
We have stayed at this location many times over the years. Room was reasonably clean (edges of the tile on bathroom floor needs a thorough scrubbing) and the bed was reasonably comfortable. This location is badly in need of some renovation/updating. We liked the fact that it is a smoke-free location.
I needed a room in Flint and found Quality Inn, I chose the hotel based off the name.I was slightly concerned as I pulled into the parking lot because it didnt look like the hotels Im accustomed to. The lobby was nice and presentable. As we were walking to our room it looked like that had new tile floors then we went into the carpeted hallway that smelled kind of musty. Once we got to our room, the room was also a little musty, the walls looked dirty and the tub had missing porcelain spots in it. We decided to complain to get a different room. We were accommodated to a a different room which was better. I was impressed with the shower and the bed was comfortable. I could never get on the website though. Not sure if I would choose this again if in flint.
This hotel was atrocious. The hotel room was filthy. There were nuts on the floor and hair in the bathroom. The pool was dirty. The hallways were not clean. The breakfast was ok, but you better not be 1 second late. My husband was making waffles and as soon as it clicked 9 she took them away. We were packing up our things and was told by housekeeping we had 10 minutes or we were going to be charged another night. They were waiting at my door at 10:58. Lets not mention the police stakeout that went on next door. I suppose having 4 or 5 police officers outside your door all night isnt terrible. I guess I was safe for that night. Never staying here again.
This is definitely not a 5 star hotel but for the price I wouldnt expect it to be. There was an unpainted patch in the ceiling and even an unpatched hole in the bathroom. The furniture was a little beat up and the closet was missing one of the sliding doors. That being said the room had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker and the sheets and towels were clean. The staff was friendly and breakfast (eggs, sausage, waffles) was included. We did not use the pool so I can not comment on its condition but it is available none the less. I would say for the price this place has everything you need if you would rather not spend a fortune on a place to sleep at night.
I read the reviews before placing a reservation and it had 3 1/2 stars. I would give my room 2 stars. The room was very dated. There was hair on the bathroom floor. The mirror on the closet door was cracked. There were no stoppers in the bathtub or in the sink. There is no elevator.
This place should be shut down. The awful smell I kept reading about is coming from the very unclean carpet through out the entire motel. This motel shares all it amenities with a much cheaper motel connected to it. For almost half by the rate you could get a much better value. If you call this value. The whole place is filthy. The morning staff instead of stocking breakfast items they had a conversation about how they didnt like their job and how so ans so was doing better than they were and how they though emptying the trash in the hallway wasnt their job. Avoid this place cheap isnt always the best way to go. Also they use a dollar store product to cover the smell in the Room which is linked to health problems.
I had read some really bad and terrible comments on this hotel. We were going to cancel because of the comments, but it was too late. We decided to suck it up and go to the hotel anyway. Im sure glad we did. The lobby was clean and beautiful, the staff were great, the room was clean and very nice, the bed was VERY comfortable, the bathroom was clean and well stocked, the pool was great. This exceeded my expectation in every way possible. Im glad that went there. I actually slept great!
I think this was a good hotel I just wish they would have given me a call when my checkout date changed so that I could have gotten all my groceries and toiletries out. I am a low income single mother and I dont have money to just be throwing away like that. Since I specifically called and spoke to the woman and she said it would be fine if I left them there I think the hotel should have done something to compensate me for the items they threw away.
The room size was lovely and it wasnt noisy and we werent bothered the breakfast was great and the front desk and maintenance team were friendly and warm the wifi was bad which isnt unusal but I didnt like the 1925s coffee maker and microwave. Almost got charged for sheets that were already dirty upon our arrival but since the spots were not huge we didnt want to bother the room attendants but I can tell you thats out the window in the future Ive traveled a little bit this year and in comparison this place was pretty good.
Two night stay. My meetings were in the Detroit northern suburbs, but this location (just off I-75) allowed for shorter arrival and departure drives to and from this area, and just 45 minutes (I-75) from the meeting location. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Second floor room was clean, comfortable and everything worked. Breakfast area was clean and organized, and the food was good, with a friendly staff. I would stay here again.
One of my rooms had a urine smell, was filthy and the tub was atrocious. I would not even think of bathing there. The other room smelled like mold very strong. When I told them they went and sprayed odo ban and said they had no more rooms. I called the 800 number twice and was told there was nothing they could do. When we got back to the hotel I demanded they change one of the rooms and the desk clerk said I’ll give you this woman’s room. She probably isn’t coming in. I have called twice since then and gotten no satisfaction at all.
Entered hotel to find a nice young lady at the desk. We were asked if we would be swimming, if so we would have to wear wrist bands to prove we were guests. Pool towels were at the front desk, one per person. Pool was dingy, dark, poorly lit and very cold. The pool was shared between 2 hotels. Guests were free to wander between hotels through the pool area, no security measures. The bathroom in our room was filthy. My feet slid as I stood up from using the toilet. The shower curtain wouldnt stay closed, the bathroom flooded. Mopped up mess with towels, they were black afterwards. Every corner/wall joint was full of dirt and dust. There was an electrical cord octopus hanging over the microwave cart. The microwave, coffee maker, fridge and a lamp were all supposed to use the same 3 outlet plug. You had to pick which items you wanted to work at any time and there werent working plugs for our 4 phones either. Room was too hot even though we turned the temperature down to 60 on both the heating unit and the wall thermostat. The breakfast area had signs all over it telling guests that they couldnt take food to their rooms. A hotel employee pushed his way to the waffle maker in front of my son. Waiting for an employee to get his breakfast before guests was irritating. Breakfast offerings were quite limited. Ive had better in lower grade hotels. Some items were stale. There was no hot chocolate mix for the kids. This hotel struck me as Inferior not Quality.
The staff were friendly and attentive and the nightly rate was cheap. The hotel is dated and thus has the look of being dirty. The carpeting in the hallways hadnt looked vacuumed in some time and the floors in our room were dirty as well. We were disappointed in the pool as again, the floors were dirty, the water was cloudy, and the hot-tub was boarded over (literally--with a pallet painted blue to blend into the blue flooring).
I usually love staying at Choice Hotels. I prefer staying at them because they usually have a standard of excellence. This one however fell way below. I was so disappointed in every aspect of this particular hotel. The most disappointing was the cleanliness of the room and the disrepair of the hotel overall.
I stayed for one night while traveling for work. The rooms are nice and they are in the process of remodeling the place which will make it even nicer. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was good. They staff service was ok but a lot of them are not sure what is going on. While I was checking in another customer had been charged 3 times for his room and when I was checking in the clerk asked me questions on preferences and when I answered she told me it was too late and she had already clicked the other answer. Since I was only there one night I just went with it but it looks like the desk staff needs more training or overseeing of the manager who they couldnt find.
The front desk manager,Branden had only been working for the hotel for a few days but he was professional and accommodating. The property is nice for being nearly 30 years old. There is no elevator, but hotel employees offered to assist me with my luggage. The room was clean and fresh with lots of towels and room to relax.
We took our 10u youth softball team up to this motel! Drea went above and beyond for us to accommodate our ball schedule, as well as taking time to assure a flawless check in! Our rooms were perfect, not a single issue! Breakfast was above standard for a continental breakfast! We had 12 or 13 rooms I believe, and everyone was happy!! The only negative was the pool was freezing cold, however we knew if this issue long before checking in! The kids still enjoyed it! Thank you for an awesome stay!!!!
Never staying here again. Bad experience from check in. Got keys to room they didnt work, got a different room because of the uncomfortable looks we were getting, and the key didnt work on that room either. Finally got into our room and the smell of whatever they clean with gave us all headaches. Pop in vending machine is out dated by 7 months. Hall reeks of cigarettes and pot, hmmmm strange for a non smoking rooms. The room my daughter stayed in is a whole different story.
The room and bathroom were run down and smelled of smoke, though it was marked as a non-smoking room/hotel. The walls had stains and the carpet was threadbare and dirty. The shower did have nice hot water, but the tile floor had mold/mildew and was cracked. We have stayed at this hotel chain before and have always been pleased, but this visit to this location was severely disappointing.
Been a member of choice hotels for a couple years and actually stayed in this hotel for weeks at a time. Was great until I asked for my deposit back... I have NEVER smoked in any of the rooms I stayed in and now the last one i stayed in SUPPOSEDLY smelled like smoke 🤔... I want my deposit back for the lies and disgusting room i stayed in which i should call the health department for. I was even told by some staff that the manager likes to keep deposits after so long because she doesnt like giving it back. Will be contacting corporate and whoever else until I get my money back. A bunch of bs if you ask me.
Dont book it, please! the room wasnt very clean, weve heared everything from the room next to ours. the beds were really uncomfortable and the bath were also unclean. overall the room was a nightmare. ... the staff was very kind and she gave us a little instruction what we have should seen in Flint. so we did it and it was really nice. but please use another hotel!!! even if the price is very low!! take some more dollars for a much better stay!!
I do not recommend this hotel at all. The mirror was shattered and when I reported it, they already knew. The heater was broken. The window was open, with the curtain closed so we didnt realize it until the room was very cold. The desk had a piece of trim broken off and it was leaning in the corner. When I checked out and made sure they were aware of it all they werent concerned at all. I told them they shouldnt have put anyone in that room and that I wouldnt be staying there again, but they didnt seem to care.
Overall not a bad stay the beds were nice. I was with my son and the pool was closed which disappointed him. Room was clean but there was trash around the outside of the building. There were some loud teenagers a few rooms down from me but they settled down around 11:30. Not fond of the deposit that you must pay to stay there but it is the City of Flint area.
I did not enjoy the quality of the room that we stayed in. Ironically, there was nothing quality about it. The sheets weren’t changed, the bathroom door was dragging the floor and tearing at the bottom, the window didn’t open and the screen was broken, the tub did not drain, the carpet was sticky. The stay was horrible to say the least.
I believe that under normal circumstances the hotel would have been a 2-star at best, however after an obvious problem with the sprinklers going off recently and them failing to replace the carpeting prior to our visit, there is no way we should have been allowed to check in. I realize that the business needs to run but under the circumstances Im sure their insurance would have paid for lost business and they should have given us the option before we got to the hotel. Management should be embarrassed that they actually tried to check people into that hotel in those conditions. We met several people who also had to leave and couldnt stay at the hotel and were forced to go elsewhere at the last minute.
I expect much better accomodations for a choice hotel. Cleanliness was marginal at best. The hotel was booked as a Comfort Inn, but upon arriving found it was in fact a Quality Inn. Seemed quite run down. The front desk did respond to our concerns when first placed in a room that reeked of cigarette smell and the person was very courteous and immediately gave us another room.
Ive been using this hotel when working in the Flint area for over ten years now. It used to be a good hotel, but has deteriorated greatly in the last three years. Theyre trying to put some money into it, but its not well spent. The carpet in the first floor is a weird blue and orange stripe pattern that runs the long way down the hall. It did cause a slight disorientation issue when I walked down it the first time. The hotel staff did tell me that Im not the only one to experience this. The room needed work. The curtains would not draw all the way shut. I had to use a binder clip and tilt the floor lamp up against it to keep the curtain closed and outside lights out. I had to ask twice and it took two days to get this fixed. The hotel key would not work for more than a day, which is not what you want to have happen when you are trying to get into your room with a handful of gear. The shower curtain rod was pulling out of the wall and would not stay closed when trying to shower. The bathroom sink would drain slowly. Considering it took two days to get the curtain taken care of, I didnt bother to report these issues. The worst was on the second morning I was there and the breakfast was supposed to start at 6:00 AM. I got down there at 6:25 and nothing outside of a little stale cereal was out. The guy who was supposed to set it up was standing in the lobby chewing the fat with another employee. He had the time to chit chat, but not enough time apparently to get his job done. He seemed a little surprised that I had an issue with the breakfast not being ready and said the he could have it running in a few minutes. That didnt work, because I had a job site to get to and my window for having breakfast had just closed. I wasnt happy about paying for a breakfast that I cant get because of someone just being lazy. I left my name and number with the desk staff on Thursday morning to talk to the manager about these issues. I didnt hear from him all day. I checked on Friday morning to see if he got the message. The desk worker said he had. I again let her know that I wanted to talk to him. That was three days ago and still no contact, so I can only walk away with the impression that he doesnt care. I dont know if Ill ever return to this hotel!
DO NOT STAY HERE! I repeat- do not stay here! Due to a funeral, we had 7 rooms for family from June 21-24, 2019. When the front desk attendant didnt know how to check people in- we should have seen it as a sign of things to come. Or- when we realized that there was no elevator...yeah, multiple-level hotel with no elevator. Got our steps in though!None of the rooms were maintained- as in never vacuumed, etc. Room 1- a/c didnt work. Room 2- had stains on all 4 walls (like water stains??), door to bathroom had a hole in it, and smoke detector didnt have a battery (cover was off). Room 3- had a refreshing scent of mildew, BO, and cigarette smoke..and had no peep-hole (had to stuff paper towels into hole for privacy). Room 4- toilet seat wasnt attached, and pinched/left bruise of our 90 y/o Matriarch. Room 5- tub never cleaned, had short pubic-like hairs on side of tub (like someone shaved in tub but never cleaned). Room 6- had to get fresh towels from lobby. Room 7- resident is used to camping, so he thought it was ok.Breakfast- do not eat. Just dont. Employees smoking outside main entrance, with smelly ashtrays leaving fine aroma as you enter building. Really curious why Pepsi machine had TWO signs that said use at own risk...what does that mean?BUT the best part- Housekeeping left their Master key in our room (key #7)...we just left it in our bathroom. What would have happened if someone dishonest and robbed rooms/assaulted people? So yeah- stay somewhere else. We may sue for misrepresentation- NOTHING quality about this Quality Inn!
Tv is kinda small and my room has a great view of the dumpsters, not a fan of the $50 deposit even when you have a credit card. they knew I was seeking relief from the tornado, I could have got the room another night if I needed. gym looks nice the staff was friendly and the waffles, bear claw OJ were great! No elevator
The price for the room was fantastic, but after staying here... I could see why it was so cheap. The hotel looks like it has the same decorum from the 1980s. The main doors to the building require no special keyed entry so anyone could come in. It is not well stocked with vending supplies so late arrivers are stuck with slim pickings for dinner. Although it seemed clean overall, I couldnt be sure that there werent cockroaches and rats roaming about when the lights were off... thats just sort of how it made me feel to stay there. The continental breakfast hardly looked edible, btw. Think I had an English muffin and some coffee just to play it safe.
The night reception was the rudest person I have ever met!!! Our room had not been cleaned since the last guests!!! When reception was made aware of this they replied “ I will have to see if maintenance can do anything about it because housekeeping was gone for the day! “ They didn’t offer another room or anything!!! Thankfully the maintenance man found us clean sheets ( which we changed ourselves). I have stayed a many Choice Hotels but this by far is the worst stay I have ever had in a hotel!!!!
Staff is extremely friendly but rooms werent the cleanest ... they were installing newer door locks ( still old technology) and there was copper wire all over our just cleaned bed. This hotel has the ability to be really nice however it is extremely outdated in every way. At 8 am the breakfast left much to be desired ... the sausage looked like it had been pulled from the couch cushions of my aunt Ednas 1970 plaid sofa. The eggs were hard , even the fresh coffee tasted like cat pee ( if I was to hazard a guess as to what cat pee tasted like)The heated pool is shared with the roadway Inn next door and was dirty and freezing. The floor leading up to the door to the pool room was ankle deep in water and though it was an idoor pool the room had holes in the wall for fans leading to the outside so the winter air was blowing inside. The staff were the best part of our stay and the reason for 3 stars. We only experienced staff that were very friendly , eager to help and were full of smiles.Hopefully the management will update soon
Our room had broken tiles in the bathroom. I was afraid one of us was going to get a cut on the way to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The floor was sticky in places. The arm chair was stained with who knows what. Youd think they would either clean it better or throw it out. The desk in that room was also falling apart. The linens were clean at least and the bed was pretty comfortable. We wont be staying here again.
If I could give this place zero stars i would. HORRIBLE customer service. As soon as I walked in it took forever to get checked in doesnt even acknowledge people infront of the desk. Rude when she finally did talk to you. Smell in the room was horrible we had to ask 4 times before they would do anything about it. Refused to give us any towels . Let people have parties till 4 am. We stayed with my 3 year old and had to call the office twice before they made the people shut off the music. Every time we try to call the front desk they are rude. 100% do not recommend! Cant find a costumer service number anywhere
Very friendly and caring staff. The rooms were clean - the bathrooms were VERY clean, the food was great, the work out room was nice too. Overall a good stay. Although people say Flint has a very high crime rate I found people to be very friendly and our stay felt perfectly safe.
It was ok. Smells like cigarettes and Irish spring. For the price to park and ride its ok but dont go there for a vacation. Our room needed a little maintenance. Clean but maybe check out your room first. It is. What it is. A reasonable place to lay your head or a night when need be.
This hotel needed some TLC. The carpets in the halls and main areas were worn. There was no elevator so we had to drag our luggage up the stairs. The room was ok but I had just been in a room with new furnishings the night before so the furnishings were not nearly as nice. The place was in need of a makeover. The check in clerk also needed help or she just needed to not answer the phone because she could not do both. The breakfast clerks didnt even take the passes we were given to present at breakfast. There was very little cereal in the bins and the waffles were small.
I do not agree with the $50.00 incidental hold they put on my Debit card in case I smoke or damage the room and they say my account was Credited 1st thing in the morning, but it takes a week for my bank to release it and shouldnt they check the room first? You would think they could wave this fee for Choice privilege member, expecially when they are Platinum or higher. I also booked my room on Choicehotels.com before April 1st and the owner/manager dropped the price on April 1st by $20.00 a night. I asked in the morning if I could get a refund and was told they didnt think so but would check with the manager but I have not heard back and no refund on my card as of yet. I have stayed at this property many times in the past and the rooms are comfortable and it is conveniently located but I am looking for a different place to stay when I am in that area.
First night fine, when we got back after we out for the day got in that evening and we locked out of our room . Went to front desk to get new keys redone, got into our room and we didnt have any clean towels , went back again to front desk. After second day of being out got back again LOCKED out of room, we told again the second time housekeeping does that sometimes, but 2 days in a row. Checked out room after getting keys,AGAIN NO CLEAN TOWELS 2 DAYS IN A ROW. Talked to clerk the only she could say was she would talk to housekeeping. Once in awhile I understand but 2 days in a row with keys and towels dont appreciate at all
Close to Flint airport, this hotel is great value for those who need to stay overnight and leave early in the morning. Our free shuttle to the airport left right on time and delivered us within 5 minutes to Bishop airport (which is highly recommended to fly from). Nice staff, easy to deal with, even leave your car here for a fee. Rooms are clean but a little tired - we saw all the new carpet had arrived in the lower hallway so it looks like a renewal is underway. This hotel is a great value for us and we will certainly stay again. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker make it easy to stay here.
This Quality hotel is making strides to upgrade back to its former self reminiscent to when it was a Comfort Inn. Not only is the staff great, but improvements to the hotel are visible. The room was large, clean and comfortable and the breakfast items were ample. The hotel is conveniently located near both I-75 and I-69 in an area with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Great place to stay at a great price!
This place isnt just in the worst part of Flint Township I would say it has created the worst part of Flint Township. That being said most of the patrons wear masks Inside the Hotel even in the lobby in in the parking lot the employees however dont which makes it super awkward since theres signs all over the place saying you cant enter without a mask on its a bit ridiculous. Filthy overpriced high risk of criminal activity in a nutshell
Friends had told me not to stay in Flint but I saw the good reviews and decided to give it a try. I had no problems what so ever. It was late at night and I did not have a reservation but the gal at the front desk was very nice and professional. The room was clean and comfortable. I got in late and left early so it fit me very well. The breakfast in the morning was suitable for early quick departure.Im very satisfied with my choice.
A quiet place but could use some improved cleaning and better room specials. Indoor pool is nice but closes at ten and if you arrive late you are out if luck. The vending machine was broken and they refuse to give refunds. The front desk employee Amanda was very friendly and helpful.
Was clean, night clerk was semi friendly, was told they did not honor AARP and would not give the discount, required a $50.00 security deposit, (hold on my credit card) that is still on my card 10 days later room area of hotel was separated by a locked door between rooms and lobby. Rate was great and day clerks were extremely friendly. Breakfast was only so-so. There is my stay in a nutshell.

2021-12-29Customer service desk is continually staffed with smiling faces and bubbly personalities that are eager to assist patrons in having an enjoyable stay at this location. I have been staying at this hotel 1/2 a month and I have yet to encounter a dirty room of any sort. I have gotten a Jacuzzi room every time I have stayed there and enjoy the tub that comfortably fits two people. Not only does this hotel stand above and beyond the competition in the area, I personally find it to be a great choice overall and we recommend staying there to anyone who is looking for a great hotel at a good valued price!

2022-01-17Was able to get a same day reservation for a single bed room. The front desk had my check in information and there was no wait. Had to put a $50 deposit which was refunded on checkout. Room was fine. Bathroom door was broken, but that wasnt an issue. The combo heater/ac worked really well. This was probably the quietest hotel stay Ive ever had.

2022-04-23Generally acceptable conditions. Relatively safe neighborhood and clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Reasonably priced for whats included. They make a genuine effort at providing satisfactory service. Pool and fitness rooms are advertised but unavailable for use. Rooms have safes but they dont function. TV remotes arent programmed for the TVs. Housekeeping focuses only on high priority tasks due to understaffing. I would stay here again.

2022-06-23I am only giving this a two star review because the staff was friendly and doing the best they could with what they had to work with, otherwise it would be a 1 star. All information we got about this hotel before arriving was very misleading. First there is no pool, was told there hasnt been for several years, and no shuttle to the airport, again hasnt had one for 8 years. No air conditioning in the lobby/breakfast area, there was ac in the room. The room was ok but the overall hotel was in disrepair.

2022-03-26Positive: The price. Negative: Everything was awful. Tv didn¿t work. Carpet pieces together. Everything was dirty. The smell of way too much Lysol spray to cover the smell of urine. Do not stay here.

2022-05-20Positive: Anna at the front desk was very nice. Negative: This place is a nightmare. Dark hallways with mismatched lights, damage in the room, the vending room felt like a jungle, and some trashy, intimidating guests. We went in the wrong room at first, and that bathroom sink had dried toothpaste on it.

2022-05-10Everything was dirty, floor, counters, bathroom, towels had hair in it, and walls. Our only expectations were for a clean safe hotel. We were very disappointed. This hotel was anything but clean and safe.

2022-04-01Horribly managed property. Filthy from the front reception area to the halls & the rooms. Housekeeping will not change the sheets & pillowcases so inspect it well before accepting a room. The same thing is mentioned over & over and nothing gets done about it. Tgat tells me they don’t care. Don’t waste your time or money

2022-04-03Room was dirty, curtains were dirty and splattered with dried blood, every walking space was dirty, toilet lid was dirty. Items in the room were worn, scratched and tired looking.Microwave sounded like it was grinding coffee when we ran it.People hanging out in the hall and we had someone knock on our door at 2am, wake us up, and ask for asked for someone named Courtney. We could hear a car revving what seemed like a half hour after the knock on the door.Could hear music playing somewhere in the hotel into the wee hours of the morning.Went to dial the front desk from the room phone and there was no dial-tone because there was no phone cord.We finished our stay and left very early --- couldnt wait to get out of there.
