Positive: I think it struggles to keep thr 2.5 star rating. Unable to offer breakfast? Toilet seat in room was a misfit meaning it did not match the colour of toilet or actually fit. Negative: Dirty elevator, over really needs to be cleaned up and a few standard upgrades.
This hotel is one complete false advertisement. They had zero amenities that were showing available on their website. Pool closed formaintenance, when in fact it hasnt been open for months, no hot breakfast or grab and go breakfast like shown on their website. Only minimal tv channels actually worked and no elevator to the top floor. I will not be coming back!
Positive: Location was good and the motel was adequate for the stay. Negative: This was my 3rd trip to Michigan this year. Other hotels in the state have opened their pools and offer either a bagged breakfast or even a buffett. I felt that it was a money grab for this hotel to not offer either and I probably wont stay in QI again.
Staff was friendly, but place was pretty run down esp.for the price.I reserved the room where you could view tv from the tub, nope! in fact the tub doesnt even work as a tub! Front desk asked if I wsnted another room.No pool,or breakfast as advertised, I would have given somewhere else my $100 had I known!Really disappointed!
Upon checking in, everything looked okay. Once in the room, we realized we only had 1 TV channel, which is annoying but we decided to just deal with it. Then I went to fill the tub and it wouldnt hold water. Called down to the desk, told us they could give us the last available room, to pack our stuff and come to the front. They gave us the key, we hiked back to the room with all of our stuff and a knee injury, and when we got inside the ac unit didnt work and the room was more than 90 degrees. At that point we decided to take our original room back and just nix using the tub since we didnt have anywhere else to stay. I was told to talk to the desk in the morning for a partial refund. When we went to check out, we were told there was no manager available and to call back the next morning. I was given the name Joe Kuzza to speak with. When I called the next morning, I spoke with Shakita, who told me she was a manager, Joe was not available and she could not issue any sort of refund for our inconvenience. When I asked to speak to someone above her, she informed me the only person above her were the owners and they dont speak to guests! Imagine...running a business and not speaking to the very people who make your hisness successful. The arrogance! AVOID THIS HOTEL, YOU WONT HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE AND WONT BE TAKEN CARE OF IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU
When we called to reserve room they said they had a pool but didnt mention it was closed for maintenance. No breakfast, outlet covers missing, coffee ground still in coffee maker, smoke detector hanging from ceiling, ice machine broken, NOT worth the price we paid. Very disappointed. Overgrown lawn.
The amenities offered were a pool, arcade, weight room, sauna, and hot breakfast. We arrived to find out that they had not one of those amenities. The TV was missing the cord. We asked front desk for cord and they just laughed. So my son had a cord to laptop with him that worked. We get the TV on, the remote doesnt work. So we ask for batteries, that didnt fix it. We gave up on tv. Went t I make coffee and 1/2 the parts missing. The front desk said just come downstairs for coffee. The staff doesnt appear to care that no breakfast, pool, sauna, gameroom, coffee pot, tv..TV... no offers to reimburse, upgrade, an apology or phone number...we will never come back.
I would never go back it was so disappointing and a waste of money. Room was out of date, got a jacuzzi tub and it didn’t work. Phone didn’t work and shower would not cut off. Front desk wouldn’t change my room and denied to refund or let me cancel once I seen all the problems. It was THE WORST don’t waste your time.
If I was not in a snow storm and no place to sleep I would stay away from this place, dirty, run down, pulled the corner of the mattress up and was disgusted with what I saw, bed bugs.... I slept on top of the sheet in full clothes and when I got home they went in the trash. Then I had to fumigate my truck. When I checked out at noon the lot was not plowed and I almost got stuck in 10 inches of snow. Worth 15 a night or just find a piece of cardboard and snuggle up instead of staying here. Staff was nice.
Five Stars for the Front Desk Greeters ⭐Each team works great together. They look out for you, its really nice to feel safe! The house keeping were there Always available when I needed them 😊Thank you everyone. Only the Pool and Free Breakfast is Closed because and since COVID 19.Cherylee Parker
The staff mixed up the names on my room with a different room, and despite us clearing this up with them on 3 separate occasions they still had our check out date incorrect in their system and ended up calling the cops on us because they believed our room should have been empty and it wasnt. When we discussed this with the staff they were not at all apologetic, cooperative, or helpful. We left immediately and found lodging elsewhere.
We made reservations for a birthday party. We werent even told that the pool was closed and there would be no breakfast. When we arrived the hotel looked like a ghost town. It is so run down. We had 2 rooms, In one of the rooms, the window wouldnt even shut. The control didnt work for the tv. The tub was dirty and when the jacuzzi jets were turned on the water turned brown. The ice machines didnt work. I tried to call but there was no maintenance available.I used to go to this particular hotel for birthdays and just a simple getaway. It used to be really nice and now its just simply sad to see how run down it is. I think this will be the last time we go there.
Positive: It was run down dirty pool was shut down they did not offer any breakfast the rooms were so dirty there was no covers on electrical outlets lights didn¿t work and it had an awful smell like cigarettes and syrup it was the worst experience I¿ve ever Negative: It was run down dirty pool was shut down they did not offer any breakfast the rooms were so dirty there was no covers on electrical outlets lights didn¿t work and it had an awful smell like cigarettes and syrup it was the worst experience I¿ve ever
Honestly, dont even do this to yourself. This is the smokiest non-smoking room and building Ive ever been in. The room and bath were both equally dirty with a TV that didnt work correctly. The lights kept going on and off and the receptionist couldnt even be bothered to pause the movie on her phone while I was returning my keys less than an hour after I checked in. 0/10.
Friendly staff. Hit and miss on the cleanliness of the room. Looks out of business on the outside. Property needs a little tlc. One room was infested With fruit flies. Other than that I get great rooms. For the price you can get from most apps it’s a deal here. I’ve stayed here many times and will let the pictures speak. If my review was helpful please like and follow me please.
The AC leaks from the unit all over carpet. Carpet was soaked, has mold along wall, and smells. The room we were given wasn’t even what we reserved. We reserved a King size bed and received 2 small beds. The tub leaks in the bathroom from the faucet and leaks onto the bathroom floor. We had to put towels down to soak up the water to shower. It’s clearly been leaking a while because it’s stained and mold along shower. Thankfully, we were only staying overnight after a concert and didn’t have to stay long. It was completely not up to basic standards. We left a note in the room so housekeeping could let someone know, although there’s no way this isn’t already known. Water leaking all over this room and 1/4 of the rooms carpet is soaked with water.
We have stayed at this hotel for years as we come to the area for an event. Since our last stay in 2019, our opinion has greatly decreased. It needs serious attention nearly everywhere including carpet, paint/wallpaper, tile, landscape, etc. It failed to meet our expectation of the Quality Inn brand. Check in staff was pleasant and the pillows are good. Other than that, there is nothing else worth talking about. We will not be staying here again.
This dump is in serious need of help. Nothing quality about it. Our room had broken windows. There was a broken lightbulb on the floor that was clearly out of the lamp near by. The pool was closed but advertised as open. No breakfast. Ive never been more disappointed with a hotel in my life. I strongly recommend staying somewhere else if youre in the area. At least the hot tub in our room worked otherwise it would have been a total bust and I would have asked for a refund. What a joke...
Normally I would say 5 star but this time no. We booked the presidential suite over a week in advance and were told one price, charge $30.00 more. We are traveling with a teenager and asked for a fold out couch. Got there to only only 1 set of towels, no blankets, pillow or sheets for the pullout. Half the lights were burnt out. The shower in the tub didnt work. The stand up shower in the corner the light was burnt out in. The walls had crayon on them. The quality has went downhill. No pool, hot tub or breakfast any more. We have stayed in this motel every year for the last 30 years guess its time for a change😔
Okay, this place is is going down hill fast. I visited a few years ago, and it was a nice get a way. This weekend not so much. The room advertised was open floor plan with the tub. Thats the room we had before... Which is why we came back. The plan was to watch movies and soak in the big tub. Cant do that with this wall they put in.... The entire back of the building is unkempt. Trash everywhere, no one emptied the can in back the 2 days we were there, lawn 4ft high. Doors in the back have no working lock. Just walk in. Hallway carpets are wore down, stained and dirty. The bed had a sharp piece of metal sticking out of it and the head board was dusty. Pool and breakfast were closed. I was handed an excuse about the state.. I suppose they arent aware other pools are open and people can serve food. I could over look the breakfast and pool , if it wasnt specifically advertised as an amenity. We wont be returning. Edit: Everyone had suspicious insect bites... The bites were in straight rows like bug bites.
The hotel was outdated and nasty. While checking my hotel room I found hair on the sheets. Lifting up the mattress on the bed skirt was more hair, straw wrappers, and a key card. This was clearly showing me that this hotel room along with the linen hasnt been cleaned. I immediately went to the front desk to check out. The clerk at the desk didnt seem to concerned about my hotel room being dirty. I also took pictures. Overall I was really disappointed because it was my wedding anniversary and I couldnt find another hotel room. Also the Wi-Fi wasnt working.
Ive been here many times. It used to be such a nice place. Its a bit run down now however. Ii seems renovations are underway which is needed. The tub in our room had a pop up plug that was broken, the overflow was a bare hole you could see the wood when you looked in it. Every garbage can was overflowing with trash. The pool was closed. I really have an affinity for this place but the over feel was a bit sad this time.
Staff was terrible, tried calling to confirm reservations. Nobody answered. Rooms were not clean at all. Hair that was not ours in the showers and all over the bed. Hotel claimed to be non smoking, found burnt holes in the comforter. Did not replenish towels each night. Rooms were not clean nightly. Overall, we could not check out fast enough. Unfortunately we lived so far away and were here visiting family for a graduation. Otherwise we would have left as soon as we walked in the door. On the website, a pool is promoted only to find out it is unavailable. They also promote a breakfast in the morning. There is no breakfast at all. For the amount you pay to stay I’d be better off sleeping in my car in a Walmart parking lot. I will never stay at a quality in ever again. If this place is managed this way, I can only imagine how the others are. DISGUSTING!
Edit 6/7/22-Reserved a king room, arrived to a room that hadn’t been cleaned bedding on the floor. Front desk apologized but said there wasn’t any more king rooms… could put us in a double queen. Entered the doubles queen to be hit with musty cigarette room. Someone was smoking pot just down the hall.Establishment has gone south. Not well kept, dirty and smells the moment you walk in. No pool or breakfast since “covid” come on everyone else Is back on track. Adjust your prices if you’re not going to have all of the amenities it shows you offer. Landscaping outside is unkept. Won’t be returning.Previous rating-Decent hotel. Staff has been kind. Things that could improve- no smoking should mean in the lobby doors/entrance doors as well. It wreaks when you walk in..not the best first impression. Rooms are definitely in need of some repairs...but seems relatively clean overall. Kids were running laps down the halls at about 930 last night.. which isnt the hotels fault. Also, something we really enjoyed was that its a dog friendly hotel.
Worst experience ever. Booked in the spring. Called to make sure pool was open. No covid restrictions but pool was closed and no breakfast even when we were told they would be available. First room had cling wrap over the smoke detector and the jacuzzi didnt work. Second room the electric did not work on half the room. There was trash piled up at each door and in the stairs. It was difficult avoiding the trash and holding on to the hand rails. No maid service so 2 hand towels and 2 bath towels hand to last both days. Called the main office and was told no one reported any problems but after 2.5 hours on the phone they said they would send a refund and expect it in2 weeks. Will update if needed.
The toilet did not work properly no garbage can in the bathroom. Refrigerator was frozen on the inside. Bath tub had discolored and chipping paint. Not installed properly. Ceiling tile was falling in the bathroom. Water stains in the ceiling in the sleeping area. Window was dirty with cob webs.
This hotel is poorly maintained. Our room smelled musty and was not vacuumed and towels from previous guests were on the floor in the bathroom. Also no new towels or soaps were restocked. Also the cable on our tv did not work. We’ve stayed at this hotel on the past and never had this problem before. We were extremely disappointed and most likely won’t be back.
This place was disgusting!! The room was dirty and dingy. It smelled awful. The tv did not work. The outlet covers were missing. It looked like the headboard had been on fire at some time. The bathroom tiles were broken or missing. The tub/shower was filthy and missing tiles. Management is nonexistent. Ive tried to call several times and they are not in. We did not stay. We checked out and went to clean hotel. This place is awful.
They didnt like the time I checked in so they charged me for another day. I paid for a room that I needed to check into for a few hours sleep. I paid from 3 pm to 11am. I checked in at 5 am and they said my room was gone and I had to pay for the next day. I also didnt get my king size bed.
DO NOT STAY HERE! Disgusting is too generous for this “hotel”. I have stayed here in the past, and it was fine then - that is definitely not the case now. Lobby stunk of smoke (all sorts), room was filthy, toilet bowl hasn’t been cleaned in years, sink handle broken, shower handle broken, several burned out light bulbs, freezer filled with old exploded soda, room phone not plugged into the wall, AC unit caked with old disgusting dust and grime, comforter missing from one of the beds (front desk provided us with a mattress pad to use as a blanket because they were out of blankets) even the pad of paper they provide was wrinkled and had a water ring mark where a previous guest had used as a coaster. The worst - they only provide 2 towels for a room with 2 queen beds, you have to bring your dirty towels down to the front desk to exchange for new clean towels. There is a Holiday Inn Express a few miles down the road, try your luck there. Don’t stay here.
This place was very nasty! We checked in went to our room were we found a adult bed bug under the sheets. Very ran down Location. Checked out with in 10 minutes of arrival. I sent the management an email about our experience and they tried to offer me a small amount of points for my horrible experience. We booked this hotel weeks Before our concert, then we had to spend hundreds more Because of last minute booking at another hotel. Very unhappy customer!
Positive: I cant think of anything that went well during our stay. Negative: Given incorrect room (filled with boxes and trash), our new room was not what we booked and we were not reimbursed for the difference. We booked for the jacuzzi tub, which was so dirty I would not even step in it. Several broken items and room not cleaned
Positive: It had a good staff Negative: They did not serve breakfast as advertised even though covid restrictions have been lifted. Bull was not open even though covid restrictions have been lifted. The hallways and worn carpet that was dirty. The room air conditioner leaking water
We reserved a room with this Quality Inn opting for the big tub room. When we arrived the tub had soap scum all in the bottom and black grossness around all faucets. The toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned properly as there were brown streaks in the bowl. The ceiling above the bed also had a giant brown water stain. When I talked to the front desk they quickly check us out and explained that there were no rooms available for us and to have a good day… so now we have no place to stay; quite a bummer.
This hotel was laughable AT BEST. We got checked in and went up to our room in an elevator that barely worked. When we got to our room it was dirty and dingy. There was hair everywhere, a dirty headboard, a cracked floor in the bathroom. And the blanket was nothing but a SHEET! The picture I used as reference when I booked online showed a jacuzzi in the room but ours was a whirlpool bathtub on the bathroom which was also grimy. After being in the room for no more than 10 minutes we called down to inquire about the room vs our expectations and they said “well you reserved online so there is nothing we can do. They must have messed up your reservation - even I though we reserved right on the Quality Inn website, not through a 3rd party service. Then when we attempted to complain about the cleanliness of the room we were promptly told that if we did not like it we were welcome to leave and then hung up on. AWFUL! I would not touch this hotel with a 10 foot pole, I’ll never be back and I’ll write as many bad reviews as I have to to keep people from coming to this place!
Went there for my 17 year anniversary was supposed to get a heart shaped Jacuzzi with my my king suite had a regular jacuzzi tub that didnt work, large piece of metal sticking out of my bed that my wife cut her leg on. There was a big joint that was half smoked on my window sill front desk thought it was funny. WORST STAY I HAVE EVER HAD AT A HOTEL. Will never go back stay away from this place
This place is gross. There was blood in my sheets, hair that wasnt mine in my towels & the Jacuzzi was not clean by any means. Everythings gross, dirty & falling apart. Curtains had food & hand prints all over & u couldnt see out the window bcuz their so old the condensation doesnt go away..Could NEVER find s staff member. Honestly i feel i should call corporate & ask for my money back. This is THE WORST hotel i have been to! Dont do it!!
The hotel is clean. The staff is great. I won’t stay here again, however because of the type of people who stay here. The people next to us were screaming at one another all night and someone else somehow lost her two year old in the hallway, causing a lot of confusion and chaos when there didn’t need to be any.My stay-cation was not relaxing, and this just seems to be the average type of person who stays here. If you’re like for a good nights sleep, you won’t find it here.
Positive: Good location. Fast check in. Negative: Dirty reception, no breakfast and pool, that¿s not mentioned on line. Lots of shifty people hanging around outside smoking heavily. Dimly lit halls with heavily stained carpet. Room smelled musty, smeared dirty surfaces. Whole place is creepy.
*UPDATE BELOW*Bed Bugs. I wouldnt typically blame a hotel for bed bugs (it can happen to any hotel), but their response to it frustrated me. I happened to wake up at 3am and turn the lights on to find bed bugs crawling around me, and my blood on the sheets. When I notified the front desk, they didnt seem surprised (or even care), which makes me think many of the other rooms have the same problem. I was told the manager would call me, they did not. I had to throw away my luggage and some of my clothes, and spend my entire morning replacing items, making sure everything I kept was clean/sanitized, etc.. All in all, this $80 stay cost me about $300. Im just glad I happened to wake up and see them, and (hopefully) not take them home with me.Yes, the rooms are cheap, but removing bed bugs from your home will cost you thousands more.UPDATE: Its been over a month, and I ended up with over 100 bite marks on me; I spent 2 weeks in pain and itching, and I still have recurring nightmares about bringing them home with me (or, worse, to the homes of the people I visited while I was in the area.) Im writing this update after a sleepless night worrying every sensation on my body is the sign of a bed bug, and the months of time and thousands of dollars it would take to get rid of them. I never did get a refund, corporate offered me a handful of travel points but Id rather sleep in a ditch than another Choice hotel. If it happened in my room, itll probably happen in yours... Do. Not. Stay. Here.
We checked in and immediately checked out. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE. Do not stay here there are bed bugs we were in room 232. We told the person at front desk and she acted as if this was something that happens all the time. Refunded us immediately and didn’t offer any other things
I thought the price for a Jacuzzi room seemed cheap and when I saw the room I realized why. This place hasnt been remodeled in probably more than 10 years. (I stayed here in 1992 and I dont think the Jacuzzi has been updated since then) three jets turned on but the rest of the switches didnt work. The water barely got warm enough to enjoy the tub and cooled off too quickly. The dial on the heat lamp was broken so wee couldnt use it. The vent fan cover looked like it may fall. We saw some tiny round black bugs in the bathroom too. A couple was also fighting down the hall all night and no-one stopped them until the middle of the night. Couldnt even see out 1/2 the window
Have you ever been part of a police scanner group on Facebook? This is that in real life and Im here for it all. It wasnt terrible. Some reviews had me nervous. Aside from being pretty old and a few domestics, it really did the trick for our group. Pool still closed as of 5.29.21. do yourself a favor and go to the shark club down the road for a hoot and a holler. Waterford is a nice place. I was pleasantly surprised by the town. Definitely saw a few crackheads over the weekend but they were hard workers. They had a psychic fair this weekend but we didnt make it. I have a weird respect for how long they are putting off updating windows... Packaging tape will do. Beautifully confusing 2 days of my life. Quality.
I had high hopes but was disappointed. I personally cleaned my room because it looked dirty(hair and grime in sink) and some things were dirty but a lot of things were just old! The t.v couldn’t even get hbo! The hotel was uncomfortably hot and back stair ways were full of dead bugs, dust and cobwebs. Our mini fridge was also very dirty. I recommend they hire a professional cleaning company or someone to really over look the cleaners work. The staff was nice but the place needs a lot of upgrades
The person that was at the counter was horrible and I have never went to a hotel and experienced such a bad personality. No smile, no hello. While checking me in her cell phone rang, she walked over to the desk and answered her call. She continued to check me in, while having a personal conversation. She was saying she was called into that location to work and carrying on with her conversation. She handed me a paper and I told her the end date was wrong and she looked on the computer and said no its right the 30th. I signed it anyways. She handed me the card keys and I waited for her to tell me information as they usually do, nope. I finally asked how I get to my room. She stopped her conversation long enough to tell me where the elevator was.
Quality inn and suites in water ford 7076 Highland Rd, Waterford Twp, MI 48327 I booked a room today 7 -27-21 and the whole building smelt like weed and cigars( if u smoke idont care but respect others please) , the a/c was broken the tv didn’t work the bathroom and sheets were dirty, thi I wouldn’t complain but it was that horrible the worker who claims she was patricia but had no tag and didn’t want to give me aname at first wasn’t helpful wouldn’t give me a manager and wouldn’t hear me out and wouldn’t even give me their corporate number , another guy behind me sitting on a bench ,a older white guy i seen staying around all day and smoking alot in the front entrance i heard talking complaining about as soon as i was trying to get her to listen to me, i assume this guy works there too. this hotel shows that you guys don’t give a care , I think corporations like you need to be held accountable if you cannot be responsible yourselves. I hope you decide to do the right thing , but I doubt it, I will most likely have to fight you tooth and nail, for this horrible experience.
I stayed here s year ago when they were just beginning a full remodel. This year Im glad to report theyve made good on my expectations. New carpeting and wall covering is everywhere. Gone is the tired, worn decor Id had last year. My room was furnished with new beds, desk, chairs, etc. The air handler was quiet and easily adjustable to suit my comfort. The bed was extremely comfortable with clean fresh sheets, comforter, and pillows (plenty of them, too). The room and bath were spotlessly clean telling me the hotel owner and housekeeping staff have taken this remodel seriously. Its not yet a Hilton or Marriott but a solid value. Front desk staff was friendly and welcoming on check-in reminding me when the complementary breakfast would be served and showing me where. There is a shuttle for guests, too. Oh yes, although its located right next to the airport, I didnt hear any airplane noise all night. Nice job.
This hotel is much need of updating and many repairs. We stayed here 8 yrs ago and it was pretty good. My husband planned a weekend away and picked this hotel. He made a reservation for a king suite and they gave us 2 double beds. The room was unclean. We went back to the desk and was given a different room. Still not very clean but better then the 1st room. The shower had broken tiles, all the edges of the carpet was not vacuumed. The jacuzzi was very old , rusty trim on the ceiling tiles, wood work on dresser was all chewed up, and the little refrigerator had about 3 inches of ice in the back. We were also told the hotel was redone 3 years ago. I find that hard to believe.
The pools were still closed due to COVID. No Hot breakfast due to COVID. The rooms could’ve been cleaner & more up to date. The employees were never no where to be found they need to do better with this Quality inn, I feel like it’s A lot of laziness with the staff at this location.
This place was awful. Our first nonsmoking room smelled like someone had been sitting in there smoking cigarettes all day, and once we requested to switch rooms, the second room wasn’t much better. The front desk staff members constantly seemed too preoccupied with their personal phone calls to help us. There were multiple times that we came back to the hotel and the front desk staff had a woman at the front desk laughing and cussing loud enough to hear on the third floor, and overall the rooms were just poorly kept. There were cigarette burns on the chairs, broken glass in the room windows, the bathtubs looked extremely unkept, and the doors to the rooms weren’t very secure. If we hadn’t used nonrefundable points to stay here, we would’ve left immediately. It was a disaster.
The greeter, if you can call her that, checked me in less than 3 words. Just handed me paperwork. Tv in room didnt work. Had to switch rooms. No apologies and again when I went to get the new room key.. No words spoken. Building is rundown and seems to be getting worse. Was a loyal customer there, but my last few experiences there may in fact be my last.
Broken window, no screen, drapes torn so bad that they would not cover the window and due to a bent track would not close all the way. The jacuzzi was missing the knobs that control the air level. The refrigerator was missing the knob to control how cool it was. It literally took to the next day for my pop to get cold. One out of the three lights in the bathroom blinked like a strobe light Non-Stop when the lights were on. And yes I checked to make sure it was screwed in all the way. If you leave the water in the bathroom sink on for more than a few minutes it would will back up. They dont seem to be putting money back in the hotel anymore.
Overall an average girl. Its a bit run down compared to other Quality Inn brand hotels Ive stayed at, but the room was clean, bed comfortable, and had decent amenities. Room rate was competitive and appeared reasonable for the room, but the taxes added another 30% to overall cost. An $80 room ends up costing $125.
This place is dirty and we were sent to a room where someone already was staying! We opened the door and saw the booze on the take and the the bed was a mess. We omnidirectional shut the door and went back down to the desk. No coffee out side of the room, it was the worst stay in a hotel room. The staff isnt Friendly or helpful. We were given 2 towels for 2 people in the room so I called to ask for another since I need one for my hair and they said they dont overstock. Only 2 allows in a room at a time!

Although love the jacuzzi tub in each room, the loveliness of the rooms and the fact that theyre pet friendly, I must admit Im rather annoyed and Confused as to why the pool area look and feel like something out of a horror movie because of its complete desolation? And whatever happened to those cute little waffles I love to make that they have advertised on their website? I understand that we are getting over a pandemic, I really do. Im just wondering if they understand that the worlds GETTING OVER IT, and their website needs to reflect current facts regarding amenities offered. I paid to stay HERE for the amenities... why am I still paying pre pandemic prices when Im receiving worst of covid-like amenities ? There are no mandates stopping the pool from being reopened and a nice breakfast being served..... As advertised....smh. pull it together, people ARE noticing
I did enjoyed my stay but I wouldnt go back. the room could have been cleaner floor wasnt vacuumed and it could have been dusted but it wasnt horrible. Sauna door doesnt close completely like somebody had broke it playing around or something of that manner. The majority of staff seemed like they enjoyed their job and put their people first, one staff member specifically was extremely rude and clearly didnt want to be there i asked her where the laundry room was and she said that she didnt even know if it worked... For a first time stay she didnt even tell me how to find my room or etc. Basically told me to leave her alone in a nice way of putting it and went on with doing something else. For a 100$ a night Ill be going else where for friendlier and more helpful staff.
The hotel was nice and clean, the bed linens were very comfortable. I loved the huge jacuzzi tub! The front desk staff was nice. I felt like I got a good deal, a jacuzzi room with breakfast for $80/night. The building is in need of renovations/repairs, but overall was a nice stay.
This hotel left we with a dirty feeling. When we first got to our room, it hadn’t been cleaned yet. We talked to another family who said that when they got to their room, they opened the door to find it already occupied! Poor management! I felt like the rooms weren’t very clean either. The one plus at this hotel is that it seems that most of the tubs are jetted tubs. This is a bad thing if you are disabled and have a hard time getting your leg over the side of a high tub though.
This hotel was very close to where I wanted to be. When I got my reservation I was aware this was an older hotel going in and so did not expect great results. I expected clean, warm and comfortable, with the extras like the pool and jaccuzzi to make up for the age. The hallway to and from pool was freezing, stairs close to outer doors, no heat. Room smelled like cigs, they gave me spray, it went away, it would have been nice if they would have sprayed. Staff had no idea how to get the heater in room to work correctly so most of my stay was in a bathroom with very cold floors, The jaccuzzi needed to be cleaned with yuk so it would be clean in jets, not horrible, just not good. Breakfast and staff were very nice, extras available in small store, nice little veriety of junk food. fridge & micro in room both worked, one cup coffee pot and blow dryer both worked well. Bed, pillpws and bedding were all excellent. Holiday so short staffed. Gym a joke, games a joke, pool and sauna good. Lobby very nice, good people.
The location is good for our business travel needs. There have been Pardon our dust signs posted by the elevators for a year, but weve seen no actual work in progress. Possibly its being done inside rooms. The hotel needs maintenance everywhere you look except the lobby and breakfast room which are very nice. The rooms are large and comfortable, but details like worn hardware and paint and carpet are seen in many places. Elevator carpet is really bad, but could be easily changed. Staff is friendly and helpful. This hotel will be very nice once updated, and well still stay there for business until then. Just wish the most visible issues would be taken care of first since they help guests form their impressions.
So we booked a room on the hotels website and it was horrible. We arrived at 10pm. 1st off tv played one channel which was how to program your dish network remote. Which wasn’t even the remote. So I called down to front desk 15 times from the room no answer. I called the main line he picks right up he told me the room shouldn’t of even been rented out and it’s nothing he can do to make me comfortable this is before seeing the bathroom black mold in the shower with hair and black mold in the toilet. I was told management comes in at 8am talk to him. Management wasn’t there at 8 am and when I asked for corporate number would not give it to me I was told I couldn’t get a refund for numerous reasons main one being I booked online on the actual hotels website like are you serious it’s your own website not a third party. Then he said well you stayed so we aren’t refunding money. Clearly safety isn’t important to this company with COVID rooms should be sanitized and cleaned properly. Do you know the harm black mold can cause? I don’t think you do. Not only that the front desk gave me there own number for corporate and tried to justify why they weren’t refunding the money. What kind of games are you playing very dangerous ones I see. So I finally found corporates number and explained my situation and sent the pictures I was fully refunded. I will never Never stay at this hotel again. I’d rather sleep in my car.
Im surprised this hotel has passed any inspections. Does management even check if the rooms are clean?! My refrigerator was broken, the freezer was entirely full of ice due to the fact that it obviously wasnt closed properly. The jacuzzi jets were grimey, cracked tiles, no bulbs in some of the lamps, poor lighting. My friends booked here as well that night and left due to mildew growing around the A/C and a dirty bed. My other friends had to switch rooms because there was urine on the bed sheets!!! They couldnt pay ME to stay here again... Shut this place down or get new management and hire completely new staff! Disgusting!
Our room had an awful odor to it so we had to leave the window open. The tub was a large spa tub which would have been nice except it was very slippery for taking a shower in. The curtains were filthy and the beds were very un-comfortable. The lobby was very nice, the breakfast offered was fantastic and the staff were awesome. The motel just needs some updates to get back to what it could be. There is also no signage on the outside of the building so we were not sure we were actually at the right building at first.
No housekeeping at all during a 5-night stay. Broken window. Dirty carpets. Floor and parking lot litter. The room was clean but run down, old, scratched up furniture. The mini-fridge was made level and stable with a wooden clothes hanger wedged underneath. Switchplate for the bathroom fan was cracked in half.
Booked for one specific type of room And received a totally different room than what I paid for. The jacuzzi tub had no stopper, it should have been the honeymoon suite and IT WAS NOT. They gave me a handicapped jacuzzi tub suite. And then told me they would bill me more to upgrade to what I’d actually reserved. This hotel was TRASH... I do not use there words lightly and so upset I spent my money there. I will not reserve or EVER stay at this Cigarette Smoke smelling hotel again. So disappointed, nothing like what I was expecting. I DO NOT recommend this hotel if you actually have standards. Smh
Disgusting dirty room that smelled of stale cigarettes. Left immediately and was refused a refund and told to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Staff was friendly but unable to help as the manager told them not to call them for any reason. Stayed in the next town at comfort inn, it was clean and worth the drive.
The beds feel like they are made of bricks. The bathroom was cleaned but still had a dirty feel to it, there were bugs in the tub when we walked in.The hallways smell really funky in a bad way.I did enjoy the fridge/freezer combo as I needed to store breastmilk for my son.I loved all the pillows they had for each bed.The code system for the back door is dumb, especially because the sign says you need a key card for re-entry.All in all it wasnt a horrible hotel but it definitely wasnt worth the price.
Hotel is large, with secure parking. Great value -- but price reflects aging property, older rooms and questionable cleanliness. Jacuzzi tub in room is nice. Carpet was wet. Cleanliness of rooms and public spaces is questionable. Better than a motel but thats about it.
The bathroom jacuzzi tub had pre-existing water in it; the drain insert was stuck- the tub was clogged before my arrival. The front desk was unable to change my room, and never showed up to service the tub. I managed to remove the drain insert (by twisting it instead of pushing down on it; as directed) I washed the tub. I used the towels to clean up after I cleaned up the tub. I requested more towels - they had no more??!!! I believe he said the area they were stored in was locked. The pull out sofa bed in the guest area (of the king size suite) didn’t have sheets pillows or blankets. The supplies were also unavailable for the front desk to provide me with. I’m not sure if the storage room/linen closet was actually locked? It seems like the wise thing to do would be to call someone who could unlock it ASAP. Because towels and sheets/blankets for a bed are necessary for a hotel stay.
Checked out 15 minutes after checking in because of how filthy my hotel Room was. During a pandemic they want you to wear a mask all through the lobby yet there was 3 of stagnant water in my bath tub and finger prints all over every surface possible. Luckily Stacy at the front desk was super helpful and she refunded my money and I lefted immediately. I almost went to the grocery store to purchase cleaning supplies to clean the Room myself but I realized that was insane and I would rather just leave. I work for a cleaning company and I am a quality manager and this is by far the worst quality check I have ever had.
Upon check in we saw that the room we are in looked like it had been haphazardly remodeled. The base panel of the jet tub looked unfinished and cheaply done. Trim work was horrible, The inside of the the tub looked all fractured and old. The panel put in to replace the closet style doors between the bedroom and the bathroom was hastily installed at best. We met maintenance in the hall as we were coming to the room they told us that the phone charger plug that was on the night stand between the beds had just been replaced. This charger worked for the night but come morning it stopped working. Carpets in the room looked old and outdated, As did the walls. I did not use the pool my wife and child did. My wife stated the Pool wasnt exceptionally clean and she was unimpressed with the over all cleanliness. The locking mechanism on the outer door to the hotel where we were to come in was broken the entire time we were there as was the one around the corner from our room. This hotel is in need of serious renovations and updating. For the amount i paid for a one night stay i could have stayed at a much nicer place just a few miles down the road we chose this because of its proximity to where were going. I will drive the extra few miles next time and stay somewhere nicer.
Booked two nights, the night before and the night of my wedding, many guests also booked rooms. Overall the experience was okay..the breakfast was edible, the rooms were clean.. however one spot of the room smelled like pee in my opinion. The best thing about this hotel is the front desk staff... Cheyenne and donnie are very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this place if you are just looking for a night to crash and are not worried about the actual quality.
So we got room here and everything was fine but there pool wasn’t open. We walked into the room it smelled like cigarettes bad I had turn the fan on in the bathroom which that fan looks broken. Then I realized that 1 of smoke detectors was rip off the ceiling then we weren’t sure if the other smoke detector need to be changed. Another thing was cockroaches. They need to spray and update this place but if ur looking for cheap hotel I recommend this one. Also if you use the microwave you have to unplug the refrigerator and then plug it back in so your food won’t get warm.
Upon arrival the desk agent was on her personal phone and maintained her conversation, was still on the phone and continued her conversation when I came down to ask if they had silverware. The headboards and mirrors were so dusty that I could write my initials in them. Cobwebs by curtains that looked like it had a spider egg in it! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone
Ive been there a dozen times never a problem. However this time I had a power outage so I came here running the room. Get to my room theres no cable and the pool area is closed. Management never said anything Im very disappointed I would have went somewhere else if that was the case. Never offered a discount or anything else. The sad thing is it was never brought to my attention.
Stayed In the king suite, but the room we got was not the one pictured on the website when i made the reservation, the pictures mafe it look way nicer. It wasnt the cleanest, there were Stains on the wall and ottoman couch had rips, had a weird smell, one window was missing the screen, not enough towels only 2, for a 2 room suite. It was a very spacious room though and you get what you pay for i guess. Very dissapointed for the amount ive spent with Choice HotelsStacy at the front desk was awesome and very accommodating!!!
I was disappointed in the rooms ability to be more soundproof, I would have liked the floors to not make so much noise! The pool needed to be a bit warmer and cleaner! Would prefer a jacuzzi to a sauna. The workout room is a joke, I didnt even bother trying it this time. The main elevator was down and I was told the other one might also go, I was using the other one for the pool. There was an elderly man who left because he literally could not continue to use the stairs and his room was near the main elevator. The room was clean and the jacuzzi in the room was very very large, I enjoyed that option. I was told my firestick might not work in the room (a toss-up), I believe it would have if I had remembered to bring the remote. I had the connection. The ice machine on the first level by the main elevator was out of order so you had to go to the next floor and do a bit of legwork, the vending machine kept my money and my water, front desk supplied me with water. All in all, I got very little sleep and many small things that just took the hotel enjoyment down the tube. I like the location of this hotel, I hope with this new management they can fix these issues.
We chose this hotel because we were traveling with a dog. I am pleased to report that all of us, including the dog, had a fantastic stay! The room was very clean and had a coffee maker (with coffee), little fridge and microwave. We had everything we needed. The free breakfast in the morning was also pretty terrific, quite the spread. Would definitely stay in this hotel again, hopefully next time make room to swim in the giant pool!
GM had a nasty attitude to my husband and I and we had just moved here from out of state and are homeless but we took our money and stay at the hotel only to get bitten by bedbugs. And they we in the clean sheets when we went to change our linen. So if bedbugs were in the clean sheets that was giving to us by the front desk that means more people will experience that problem.
Our room was neat, clean and bed was nicely made and certainly comfortable. And we sleep on a memory foam mattress at home. The room was nicely appointed-- ours had a small fridge, microwave, coffee pot. Bath had large granite countertop, a big framed mirror. and huge tub. I read the other reviews before deciding to stay there. Yes there are some small cosmetic things that you notice on some surfaces. None have anything to do with your comfort , security or relaxation. Breakfast was basic but neatly served. Coffee Juice Bagels, Muffins Toast Cereal Yogurt etc. We did not go to the pool area and we were only there for one night but we would certainly go back again. Good value for the money! .
Had family visiting in town & wanted to get them a nice, clean &comfortable room for them to rest for a few hours before they headed back on the road & they were sent to a room that was not clean & I feel as an hotel that is unacceptable especially during a pandemic where sanitation & cleaning is very important. Also management didn’t offer any discount on room price for the inconvenience or anything just a simple apology and a different room after waiting for 15 minutes to get clean. I’ve always liked coming to quality inn on highland and I am very disappointed in how careless they have become with their customer satisfaction but I understand that they might be under staff or under new management but they should double check each room for being cleaned before sending guests in.
We stayed here for a wedding, it was a quick trip. After our wedding we returned to our room and the ceiling started leaking water onto our bed. It wasnt a small drip, it was a significant amount of water that fell onto us. We then asked to change rooms and we were assigned a room down the hall. The new room was extremely hot, the bathroom light did not work, everything was unplugged, and the TV remote did not work. At this point, it was after midnight, we were tried and I was tried of going to the front desk. The morning staff was really nice about what had happened. The quality of the room was good overall, and it is a fine place to stay for a quick trip.
We were disappointed with this hotel. The hotel store had only diet coke available to purchase. All the soda machines were sold out. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls. Room smelled moldy/musty. The room was really cold when we walked in, I think they were running the AC to get rid of the smell. We found a large spider in the bathroom (about 1 inch around). It was a disappointing experience.
Pool had an over-powering smell of chlorine-again not good for my asthmatic daughter. The elevators smelled and there were chicken wing bones on the ground. The floor we were on the other people in the rooms around us were loud and screamed and ran down the halls all night. We stayed in this hotel because we had to be up early for dance competition in the area and this did not get our dancers well rested for the big day in the morning. Very disappointed in the stay. Room was very clean and nice. Hotel and the other rooms and the pool area and elevators and overall experience however was not.
Chose this hotel because they offered a courtesy shuttle to DTE Music Theatre, but apparently they do not offer this service on Sundays. I called to verify that indeed they offer the shuttle and was told there would be a fee which wasnt a problem. The only problem was that I was never told there were specific days and specific hours for the shuttle. The hotel itself is quite dated. My wife and I were given room 108 which to our surprise had a jacuzzi tub in it. There was this weird slider/mirror door straight from 1986 that separated the bathroom from the rest of the room and the door did not close all of the way, there may have been something obstructing it. The jacuzzi tub also doubled as a shower. There was some very cheap, poorly measured, plastic, paneling covering the outside of the tub as well as wall-paper coming apart from the wall in several places. The room itself however seemed to be clean and was very spacious. They may want to check their phone system because we were awakened by a flashing message light at 3am and then received a wake up call at 7am that we never asked for. Also when we checked in we were greeted by a fire alarm ringing through the entire hotel. The young lady at the front desk didnt seem to know how to turn it off and when the maintenance person reached the lobby, he merely replied that old thing again.
We arrived at the hotel, and it was... Okay? The room was a nice size, with fine enough amenities and information. But when I began to look more closely at the hotel, the more disgusted I became with the penny-pinching ways of the owner. Our desk chair had a wheel that didnt belong on it, so it was immovable for the most part, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, the fitness equipment was broken, the sauna was rendered useless, the elevator wouldnt come when you called it, the continental breakfast was basic at best, the items they sold in the shop was outrageously priced, the customer service was minimal, and I could go on. I would very much recommend passing this hotel and going to the next one, where they might leave your checkbook scathed for good reason. Do not give this hotel your money.
My wife and I needed a hotel close to home when the power went out for 12 hours. I booked on line using my points. We were greeted by a very friendly and professional front desk clerk (Kevin). Extremely helpful and courteous, great check in experience.Entering the room was a different story, we would have checked out then but needed to stay somewhere close to home. The room had a very noisy heater, old carpet smells and a bathroom that needed cleaning and repairs. Jacuzzi tub would have been great but it needed cleaning. Holes in walls, exhaust fan dirty and missing cover. The bed and pillows were comfortable. When checking out the two girls on desk were friendly and professional.
Upon arrival I walked up to the check in desk. There was a girl with purple hair there that was texting on her phone. When she finally looked up she had a blank stare on her face. She came up to me and asked last name? Not a hello, not a welcome to the property, absolutely nothing. When we got to the room there was no coffee and only two towels. I called down and she said she would text housekeeping. We never got a thing. When we got back to the property at 6:30 pm our room had never been serviced. I went down to the desk and asked for towels. She said I had called and told her I didnt want service. I was flabbergasted. First, I never mentioned the room had not been serviced and second I never called that day. She went on to say that she would again text housekeeping. I asked her where housekeeping was and she pointed toward the back hall. I went in to housekeeping and the lady sitting there on the phone provided me with towels and coffee. There was not an apology from purple hair girl, she just went back to her phone. On the second morning there when we were greeted by Katie and guy came in to work, put his stuff right behind the front reception desk and proceeded to change into his gray uniform shirt. Right in front of everyone. This property needs a lot of work. The bath tub is disgusting. Comforter was used as a drop cloth for painting. I know this because the paint splatters were on my side.
Overall staff is extremely friendly. Rooms are always neat but sometimes the older heating and cooling systems make for either too hot or too cold in room. Our bathroom sliding mirrors were broke in the king bed room and also our storage closet but other than that the friendliness and cleanliness met expectations! Will definitely continue to come here.
The hotel looks a little older from the outside and the lobby could use some work but everything else was wonderful. The staff, our room, the cleanliness of everything, the price were all wonderful!! PLUS it was pet friendly. While we werent traveling with our pets this particular stay, I will definitely check out your hotel chain first for pet friendliness.
I have stayed here a few times while visiting my brother but its deteriorated a lot. The weekend we stayed the whole area around Detroit lost power, and the elevators were both out, which was not good for my elderly mother who cant do stairs. The staff does their best but this hotel is in need of a major overhaul. Not bad for a night or two, but dont expect much until Choice Hotels dumps some money into the place.
I love the spaciousness of the room. Loved that it had a whirlpool. But didnt get to use it because the drain plug wouldnt stay closed. Our room had some hanging cobwebs. The bed was comfy, temperature was perfect and the new carpet was delightful under my feet. Plenty of parking. The staff is lovely!
We paid for a suite, but nothing worked. The TVs, fans, the jacuzzi tub, which we paid extra for all of these amenities and got none of them. Front desk did nothing at all except tell us they can switch our room, at 11 at night! Mind you they did not offer that until we had asked multiple times for the things to be fixed. They did not offer us anything further, no hospitality at all. We asked in the morning if we could have an extra 30 mins to an hour for checkout, and they said No they would be charging us for another full night if we were not out by checkout time! Every other hotel Ive ever stayed in allows this if needed. Not here. Then at checkout not one person asked how was the stay, just took my keys and said thank you. They should have offered us a free night or comped the room for our stay since we had no TV, no fans to circulate air, it was so uncomfortable and stuffy, hot in there. No working jacuzzi tub that our kids asked if we could get, so 2 kids with no TV, and no jacuzzi tub stuck in a hot, stuffy room...it was the worst stay ever.
The hotel is dated and seems dingy in lobby and hallway. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was the same I have had a fancier hotels. Nice that pets are allowed. I did not hear any barking at night. Vending was completely empty. I would stay again for the price.
We love this hotel! Clean rooms, great swimming pool and a welcoming staff member smiling as soon as you walk in the door! We stay here quite often and we LOVE the front desk staff member, Kevin! He is always going above and beyond for us and our family to make sure we are comfortable and taken care of. When our tv wasn’t working he came to our room more than willing to help us, when we needed more shampoo he delivered them to our room for us. He is always doing what he can to provide his best service with a SMILE! We look forward to seeing him each visit, as well as Jerry! He also is friendly and helpful! Can’t say enough good things about the guys at this hotel! Absolutely worth the money!
Though the room itself was clean and comfortable, the whole motel could at least use fresh paint and carpet (either new carpet or shampooed); and although it was nonsmoking, the room smelled of old smoke. The elevator was out-of-order one day and was promptly fixed, but the smoky smell and scratched door made it look old and rickety. The pool is a nice amenity, but the water was cloudy; it did not appear to be being kept up correctly (possibly chemicals out of whack). Although the price and location were pluses, I dont think I would stay there again. In the future, I will select a different location.
While the service at the front desk and the food service person at breakfast were both very kind, helpful and polite, the run down condition of this property is another story. During my stay the pool was closed for maintenance and we had to change rooms three times to find a bathtub with a plug that actually worked. The rooms and the property as a whole were not very clean. It just seemed run down and dated. Compared to the alternatives in the area, I guess its not HORRIBLE but it definitely needs to be updated.
Check in was a breeze. Although the hotel was under construction it was still very well kept. Our room was clean and the amenities were well stocked. Enjoyed our stay as well as the sleeping Koi Fish. ;-) Check out was quick. All of the Staff we encountered were a wonderful representation of the brand. The pool staff was attentive, the maintenance staff was helpful, the front desk staff were friendly and the breakfast staff was helpful.
The staff at the Comfort Inn is very friendly and accommodating. Although we enjoyed our stay, we were not pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms. The surfaces in both the bedrooms and bathrooms were not actually cleaned. We had to clean them ourselves with disinfectant wipes and spray, as wiping them exposed dirt and grime. One of the bottom sheets on one of the beds had not been changed. The coffee pot in one of the rooms was filthy and inoperable. Perhaps the stay being over a busy holiday could account for the lack of detail by the cleaning staff as they seem to be very nice people and are probably pressed to hurry through the rooms. The hotel itself is convenient, quiet and safe. These factors mean a great deal to us. However, management might revisit their cleaning practices and training.
In town for a funeral of a friend. Nice place , room was already cooled down in 90 degree weather, dont know if they did this or it was left on by previous guests. The building is definitely lived, need some paint here and there and some worn places in carpet. The price was great. Overall would stay again. Didnt get the breakfast cant rate that.
The room was nice and the service was good. However, we couldn’t take a hot shower. It took 5 minutes for the shower to get hot, and then it only lasted for about 5 minutes before it got cold. They did not seem to care about this at the front desk at all. Also, while the breakfast tasted good, the hot options were slim. There were waffles, scrambled eggs, and sausage for hot options.
Stayed here about two years ago & decided to re-stay because the experience was great last time I stayed, But this stay was horrible the entrance smelled of Marijuana when you walked in. The hallways to the rooms smells very bad of marijuana, My Room window was busted & they didnt offer to move me when I told the front clerk about it.The only good thing I have to say about staying this time is the jacuzzi Tub in the room.
Nice rooms, bed was comfortable, loved the Jacuzzi, hot breakfast was great. I think the maintenance crew checked out. The fitness center machines, and ice machines were out of order. Garbage outside was never picked up the 4 days we were there. The stairways were filthy and they have people that live there that were loud and rude.
Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Crisp linens and comfortable king size bed. Coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator in the room. Breakfast was hot and good. Enjoyed the pool. I always feel welcome and safe there. Staff always helpful and polite. Good value!
I cannot say I would choose to stay in this hotel again. The room was mediocre, the pool was an odd shade of blue/green, there were no towel at the pool. You had to leave a go all the way back to the front desk to get pool towels. Our bathroom fax fixture was moved away from its proper position and left the wires and a hole exposed for rodents to come in if they wanted.Breakfast was NOT ready anywhere near the time it was supposed to be and the hotel employee who worked breakfast was unkind and expressed her frustrations freely in the dining area.
The front desk and hospitality staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. Breakfast was plentiful and satisfying. Even though the hotel is older, it was primarily clean and bedding had been updated. The bathtubs in standard rooms are very large garden tubs with multiple jets. The pool and sauna were well kept. The only negative for me was a few spots of mold on the wall grout in the tub area. Outside smokers had an area across the drive from the entrance so that my allergies were not affected going in and out of the hotel.
This hotel looked amazing from the outside, got inside and it was a different story! Had to wait at the counter no employee in sight. the room had been remolded , except the bathroom the tub had a crack with some sorta putty in it. This hotel was supposed to be a non smoking hotel, and thats all I could smell when your a non-smoker its very disgusting! And then no hot water, stayed here for work and couldnt take a shower!! At check out I easnt even offered any compensation
The Comfort Inn lived up to its name...My room was large, clean and comfortable, and quiet. the pool area is clean, the water warm. There is a small room with 4-5 pieces of gym equipment nearby. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast varied and plentiful. overall, I´m very pleased with my 2-week stay there. However, the internet wifi connection in my room was not constant....It sometimes lost the connection. Several times I went down to the use hotel´s lobby computer which always worked well.
This hotel is being updated and the updates are very nice but the cleaning staff here needs to be retrained. The only place I felt okay sitting was the bed. Everything was dusty/dirty, the room felt very unclean. The pool was nice, the desk staff was fantastic. Was grateful to only be spending 1 night.
Hotel is competitively priced, has a nice pool, and a passing breakfast. Staff is friendly. Very convenient to the Pontiac airport. THE hotel advertises a fitness center - However, ALL of the fitness equipment is out of order, has been for many weeks, and it does not appear they have any plans to fix or replace the equipment. Much of the hotel shows it’s age and is pretty worn. Most of the vending machines/ice machines are out of order. The security latch on my door was loose and barely holding on.
Stacy was absolutely amazing!!!! The 3 day shift ladies were equally amazing!!! Our dog was a little more than nervous in your parking lot at night with other dogs. Stacy was willing to pet our dog to see she wasnt aggressive- but SCARED as well as nervous. I hope Stacy knows how much I appreciate her!!!! The cleaning ladies were more than willing to get us anything we needed. The only issue was the helpful guy on 3rd shidt didnt know how to use the washer so unfortunately we went a night with no blankets. Day shift said we would have them back later in the day but if you leave and the next person doesnt know how to do it......
I was sent to three dirty rooms! Then a room with one been when I needed two. Finally the 5th room atleast had two beds.... after getting in and checking it out we left! Burn holes in the bedding and the curtains! Tub was disgusting soap and hair still left and found two bugs on the night stand moved the night stand to find tons of old food!We were gone!
We had a good night in this facility. The room was clean and well appointed with a Jacuzzi tub. The staff were friendly and helpful even in a confusing situation with the website. We had a good meal for breakfast and check out was easy. The floors were a little creaky but room was quiet overall. There was a big wedding in the property and it handled the noise pretty well.
Dirty. Back door open, not secure, anyone could come in. Window has big crack. Only 2 lights out of 3 worked in bathroom. Front desk area has a weird waterfall thing that didnt look very appealing. It needed some decoration of some kind. It was a cheap stay and I wouldnt stay again.
I am only giving it an 8 because of my isolated experience. But I was impressed with the building even being a couple years old. I would recommend it to someone else visiting the area. Friendly front desk, nice location. Its got everything, including an impressive lobby!
I chose this hotel because it is pet friendly and I was able to use my choice employee discount there. Our room featured a very comfortable whirlpool, which was a great surprise. Tons of hot water, which is a rarity. The hotel had some nice features, like an on site sundries shop. Some amenities to which I looked forward ended up not living up to expectations, like the pool and game room, but all the employees I encountered were friendly. The first shift employee, Brandon, was able to secure us an early check in after the festival we were attending was rained out, leaving us stranded with a dog.We were able to get in two hours early, which as an employee is my pet peeve, but was just so appreciated! Thank you, Brandon! Breakfast was a little sparse, but free. Good location, neat grounds, and the room itself was clean. Everything is kind of showing its age, but you can tell they are aware of this and working hard to improve. I would stay again. Thanks to the crew at the Quality of Waterford!
We stayed here in a double queen room. When crawling into bed, I noticed the bedding was soaked. The night staff gave us a clean set of bedding, and while changing the sheets we noticed the mattress was soaked as well. After replacing the sheets and getting back in bed, the ceiling above the bed started leaking, soaking the sheets again, before getting a garbage can under it to collect the water. They had to turn the water off to the room above us, give us another set of sheets, and unfortunately the hotel was full so we couldnt switch rooms. After sleeping on a wet bed all night, the best the manager at the hotel could do was give us $20 off our $100 room. I should also mention that the condition of the rooms were not very clean.
We have stayed here every year that we come up to visit family, but this will be the last time.We heard that there was a change in ownership, and we could tell immediately, but not in a good way.The breakfast is disappointing, and the blankets have stains, and the rooms are definitely not being cleaned properly. The first night we stayed, we could not use the freezer because it had not been defrosted and ice was taking up the whole inside of the freezer, and on top of that the side of the table was being held up by metal. Some other family members who were also staying here had major issues as well. Their mini fridge didnt have its two front legs, so they couldnt open it! All that happened was that bars of soap were put under it so that it could be used. Another family members room was right above the Community room where a party was being hosted, and the music was so loud, we could feel the floor vibrating and we could hear clearly what song was playing. When my cousin requested a discount, they reasonably offered a room change, but my cousin had a sleeping baby, so a room change wasnt very ideal. After complaining various times, she was finally offered a refund... IF THEY LEFT AT 11PM. She was told a manager would be there to speak to in the morning, but they never showed up! One time the desk staff even refused to call the manager for fear of them being angry! Also, we could hear everything in this hotel, EVERYTHING. It took 3 people to call corporate for them to shut the party down. Another thing is that we wake up this morning and theres a bag of beer cans just sitting by the ice machine, and the vestibule in the back of the building smells like people are staying in there to smoke and/or depositing their cigarettes in the trash can. This place was never perfect, but it was way better than this when it was Comfort Inn. Unless this place changes for the better, we will not be back.
Nasty, dirty outdated motel. Desk staff rude and hate their life.. Wr have 4 rooms booked for a 8 year olds birthday party. Right before check in told NO HOT WATER. Well they havent had it all week, days they were out. But made it seem they just ran out!! Rooms dirty and so out dated. Sole creepy drunk dude was knocking on both of our connecting rooms. Called front desk to complain and no answer.. No help... Will not be back.
The room was fine. We arrived with another couple at around 4:00, though, and were told it would be another hour before either of our king size rooms would be cleaned. We ended up taking a room with two queen beds as we were on a time crunch to make a concert. It was really disappointing that they list a check in time of 3, yet they obviously werent ready for guests at 3.
Stayed there this past weekend while my Son bowled in the state bowling tournament. Would not recommended this hotel at all even though there are not many options in the area.1. The halls stink of cigarette smoke.2. The elevator to the pool level didnt work half the time.3. The rooms have poor sound proofing. I could here the person sneeze in the room next to us.4. A pipe started leaking on the middle outside or room in the middle of the night I could hear it dripping the whole night.5. In the morning the whole hotel had no hot water...6. The so calf breakfast was nasty eggs and stale bagels7. Drug paraphernalia scattered all over the parking lot. They did give us $30 off or bill due the lack of hot water but really I would have been better off sleeping in my car and buy McDonalds breakfast!
Our visit was a short and busy one. We ran errands all day and just had time to sleep in our hotel room. The hotel was clean and presentable. The breakfast was fresh, the lobby was clean. It was overall lively and pleasant. Our walls, however, were very thin. The short time that we were in our room, we could hear the people above us and next to us. It offered a slight annoyance and a feeling off intrusiveness.
Rooms need to be upgraded and updated there was a drawer missing in the dresser and lots of things small things were broken. The two men that work the front desk for very nice and polite but the female during the day was not quite as kind. Overall I would stay again.
Not happy at all. Only stayed for pool for the kids. Hot water was out in building. Supposedtobe fixed by 10pm! Wasnt. Then promised to be fixed by 10am so we asked for late check out thinking we could finally enjoy a relaxing hot bath in the large jetted tub! Nope! So we left. Room was not very clean. Looked the the refrigerator front was never cleaned. TV was unplugged. Received at shock turning on floor lamp and desk lamp withdry hands. If Icould giveno stars I would.
This place was a bit of a contrast. At times I was pleasantly surprised others disappointed. The good...nice lobby with waterfall, huge jacuzzi tub in bathroom, huge pool, sauna. The bad poor exercise equipment some of it broken down, just an uneven quality of things. Some signs of neglect and despair. Overall, not feeling disgust but you wonder when it is the wrong toilet seat is installed on the toilet model in the bathroom. What else are you not seeing? Given a choice probably would not go back.
Me and my wife wanted to get away for a night, so we decided to book a suite here, we were surprised as to the fact there was a nice whirlpool tub in the suite, and it was a very reasonable price. Very clean and the staff was very friendly. The bed was so comfortable we missed our 6 am wake up call for breakfast! Also theres a 24 hr. Grill right across the street and a movie theater in walking distance. Would definitely stay there again
Staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are good sized and comfortable but the suit was a little disappointing because even though it was a good size and had well laid out it felt outdated, wasnt very clean and had an uncomfortable, almost anxious vibe. There I definitely potential though with a good deep clean and remodeling. I also like that it is pet friendly and close to lots of stores/restaurants.
Overall decent stay. The rooms are worn with hard to operate light switches, curtain rod broken/inoperable, TV channels not accurate and slow to change channels. Rooms seemed clean and breakfast food and breakfast area was great. Not sure if the walls are thin, but i could hear the TV and conversation from the next room. Woken up a few times due to people walking down the hall..
Rooms were clean and satisfactory. I believe they are doing work on rooms as the bathtub had some signs of ongoing construction (drywall only on outside of tub). The hotel itself was clean. We were frustrated with parking - construction and snow created an extreme lack of spaces. Many spaces were marked off with cones; two vehicles with trailers were pulled in across multiple spaces and some vehicles took up more than one space due to poor plowing/shoveling (lines were not visible). We had to wait until someone left the parking lot to find a space. We chose this hotel for breakfast included option. We had to be somewhere early and the breakfast option would make our morning easy. There was NO food when came downstairs; many people standing around and no hotel personnel. When we came back downstairs to leave & get breakfast we found another large group of people in the same situation. If you stay here, you would most likely be satisfied with your room but dont count on breakfast.
1.We could not connect to the high-speed internet in our room, even with the wi-fi booster 12 feet from our door. 2.We had NO hot water! We ran the water for over 20 minutes and got nothing. While we were at breakfast, the facilities manager went to our room and told the front desk that we had hot water. When my daughter tried to take a shower, it was almost lukewarm for the first minute and then remained ice cold for the rest of her shower. Absolutely unacceptable! 3.Upon arrival, the hallways and steps were unkempt and messy with food ground into the carpet. Revolting! (Not the kind of first impression you want to make to a guest staying there.) 4.The room had a lingering smoke smell, emanating from the carpeting, walls, and/or draperies. To a family of non-smokers, that was the first smell that hit us every time we opened the door to go in. Yuck! 5.The hot breakfast was fantastic with waffles, scrambled eggs, and sausage for choices. A plethora of other cold choices were available too, like: various cold cereals, muffins, bagels, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, oatmeal packets. They also offered milk, three different fruit juices, coffee, hot water for tea, and hot chocolate to round out the selection of beverages. This was definitely one of the best breakfasts weve had at a hotel in the last year!
If I could give them a zero I would. The restrooms were filthy. The staff was rude. The breakfast was disgusting AND to top it off; there was a bed bug found in one of my families rooms! Photo of bedbug is uploaded under the photos section. Also a rotten gallon of milk was found in our fridge...I’m looking for a place that goes above and beyond and they did not. Our dance studio was staying here for a dance competition and had been gone from 7am-930 pm. The dancers needed to eat dinner; they hadn’t eaten more then a few snacks all day and food was a priority. I kindly called the hotel at that request of the dancers and parents and begged them to kee the pool open later then 10 as we hadn’t been able to enjoy it the whole weekend. It was even my daughters birthday but they refused even if the parents agreed to sit and assume responsibility for the kids. NEVER again will they get our thousands of dollars for the 20 families that stayed two nights. Extremely disappointed!
Everything. My room 124 was in shambles, there was no screen in the window, the window was open, there where ants in my floor and on the bed. There was a hole where the light switch was in the wall, and I was sure I might electrocute myself.( I would have asked to switch rooms but I didnt get in til later at night )The breakfast was appalling. No food was out in the morning, the juice despenser was broken and had to be mended, the front desk service was terrible.I asked for a refund and was denied. Thats really what I want at this point and I am so upset with how everything was handled.Never staying here again.
Well where do I begin this location was a comfortable stay, but there was alot to not like about it. For one the common area was not well kept the elevator was old and clunky the hand rails and door handles were dirty. God only know what was floating in the pool. They advertised a sauna on the website but it was very poor The lights and dials did not work. The public restrooms smelled terrible and were poorly maintained the water in the building was not drinkable the fridge was half covered in ice and the list goes on.

2022-06-02Let me say I was very disappointed. They have a pool-closed and apparently been closed for months. Free breakfast- except they dont have breakfast due to covid. First room we were given the keys would not open the door. So back down to the desk. The desk person was out walking in the parking lot smoking and talking on her phone. Gave us another room. Room was clean. This is an old hotel in need of an update. Large crack in the bathroom sink. Open outlet without a cover by the bed. It wasnt that expensive but for a few bucks more you can stay down the street with all the advertised amenities.

2022-03-14Very terrible service. We got to our room, our toilet was clogged and we couldn’t use the restroom in our hotel room. We called the front desk, the lady was SO rude. She told us we could not get a new room, and they would not fix our toilet until AFTER we left. We had to use the bathroom in the lobby it was not clean either. We threatened to call corporate and they flat out said to do it, and they didn’t care. Room was dirty and bathtub was disgusting. There was 2 bugs on our lamp, never been so disgusted with service. Also Something was on the curtains making it look disgusting. Overall, our stay was terrible.

2022-04-19Not good, could smell gas as soon as you walk in the building. We consider canceling our room but felt we would see how it was in the room. Window did not lock could hear traffic window would not close all the way. Could still smell gas. But not as bad. We where so tired we just stayed anyway.

2022-05-18The worse experience we ever had at a Quality Inn and weve stayed at a lot. We put a reservation in a week in advance for a suite with a king size bed and hot tub. We were given a double bed room and told the suites were out of order. There was no breakfast and the ice machine was out of order. The pool was closed for repairs and the staff was rude and lied to customer service. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Several of the other customers complained about it also. Overall bad experience that Quality inns needs to investigate.

2022-06-13Stay somewhere else. It looks like at one point this was a nice hotel. But... Not anymore. It basically felt like the hotel was crumbling to the ground and no one was doing anything about it. Floor was soft in spots, elevator had taped on buttons, room numbers missing and replaced with taped on signs. We did stay in a room with a nice jacuzzi tub, would have been relaxing if it wasnt for the handprints all over the walls from previous people, weird spots on the ceiling, and funny stain on the tub. Oh there was a handprint on the lamp too... That one looked bloody. Pool and breakfast havent been open since COVID, all the hotels around have opened that back up. There is a reason this place is cheaper than others around, but its not worth it in my opinion.

2022-06-18Ok, I want to make it clear, Hanna at the front desk was very nice and I know this wasn’t her fault so I am not putting any blame on her. Now the bad. When I pulled up there was a police car sitting in the parking lot (ok, the cops patrol the area, no necessarily a bad thing) Then I notice the few cars in the lot were all in rough shape…Ok, that’s not the hotels fault either. I went to check in and saw the pool was closed for maintenance. Also, no breakfast was being served because if Covid. (We can’t update our website in 2 years Q.I?) I was asked if I wanted to cancel. I gave it one more try. I went up to the room and it was dirty. Table was sticky, tub had a huge fiberglass patch, and it smelled like smoke. As I went back down to ask if I could leave I noticed just how dirty the carpet was, the walls are stained from cigarette smoke and incense sticks and the elevator was broken too. Do not stay here.

2022-02-08Positive: Beautiful lobby and nice and clean rooms and hallways Negative: Was expecting breakfast when I booked this hotel only to find out when arriving that no breakfast and no pool because of covid without any refund of some money or a voucher to offset breakfast somewhere else
