Rooms clean. However there were so many problems with my first room that I had to be moved. When I brought up the problems to the desk clerk he got attitude with me. The next morning I went down for the advertised hot breakfast and all they had was 9 pieces of bread some stale mini cinnamon rolls and cold cereal. The daytime desk clerk was rude when I questioned where the hot breakfast was. There were worn out mattresses in the parking lot. When I asked about contacting the manager I was told she was in Las Vegas at a “seminar “, I then asked about contacting the owners and was told that it was impossible. In short don’t stay at this motel.
This hotel is just wonderful very clean and has a home away from home feeling Linda the hotel manager and her staff are just wonderful since Linda has taken the hotel over as manager she is really went the extra mile to do all the upgrades and give you the best experience possible I will always stay here when in town and not on the road driving a truck thank you Linda and staff you guys are the best
High cost and low value - 177 dollars per room and breakfast not good at all. Hallway smelled of animal traffic - pets allowed. Door to outside broken and fixed improperly. Trash piled around outside entry still there the next day but at least the fire in the ash receptacle for smokers to use had finally gone out.
This hotel was perfect for a quick last minute accommodation and was a pretty good room for the $138 rate being I booked last minute. The hotel staff at the front desk were very courteous and handled my check in flawlessly and within minutes. My two double bed rooms also were equipped with a mini fridge, microwave and more than enough towels and wash clothes. Throw in the free wi-fi and I couldnt have asked for more, lol. Also had an indoor swimming pool and hot tub. Definitely would recommend this hotel if ever in the area or just passing through and need to stop and get some rest.
Was sitting on top of the bed and a tick crawled on my hand I know it is inevitable when hotels allow constant road crew work to come in because they are around all the weeds and ticks oh, I suppose the chances of that happening in most places are pretty big other than that the room was clean that was nice
The place was clean and comfortable. I was a little hesitant about staying here but was pleasantly surprised! The receptionist at check-in and out provided great customer service! The only con was that the tub took a little longer to drain in between showers but other than that it was clean. The pillows were nice and fluffy. They provided breakfast but we didnt eat anything.
Because we used a different app to book a room because we could get a cheaper rate but still higher than was offered which wasnt realized until after the stay. We got a charge of a $100 because we didnt use the app that they require. So now we wait for 3-5 business days to get the $100 back and we have a birthday to celebrate. Will never stay ever again. Freedom of booking taken away now
When I called during the day to get some info the woman working was amazing she answered all of my questions and was very helpful when I got there to check in April was amazing! She pulled out a map to help me find things and even gave me a few books of things to do in the area! Later that night she was the only one working had a lobby full she still had a smile on her face and treated each check in like they were the only ones in the lobby but was also mindful that others were waiting and get everyone in and out that girl Im sure is not getting paid enough! Rooms were clean ( we had our dog so had to get a dog room I was a lil worried but everything was clean just like the no pet rooms) hot tub was warm and pool was just right we will definitely go back if we get the opportunity!
Positive: THE STAFF WAS THE ONLY THING GOOD ABOUT THE STAY Negative: THEY NEED TO STOP ALLOWING DEGENERATES STAY THERE, ONE WAS DROPPED OFF IN THE PRISONER VAN, ANOTHER PERSON STAYING WAS FIGHTING WITH THEIR SPOUSE/FRIEND BEATING ON THE DOOR FOR OVER AN HOUR WAKING UP EVERYONE, BABIES CRYING POLICE GOT CALLED
We booked our room for 2 nights. The rooms are nice and clean but, the cable tv has no volume on certain channels, including ABC, (No football for us 🤬) and the beds are terrible! We woke up with terrible back pain because You sink 6 inches just sitting on the edge and float to the center when laying down. We have a jacuzzi room, which was NOT cheap! Especially being on a Holiday. They offered to move us. We went to take a look at the New room However, the bed isnt much better and there are still problems with the TV volume. They claim the volume on the TV has been a problem for over a year. but nothing has been done to fix it 🤔.. and the room stunk like smoke. We should have at a minimum, been offered some sort of discount or maybe even a free nights stay. Very, very disappointing!!!!!
Room was hot, air did not work at all. Asked twice to move to another room and twice was told no. Asked to speak to management about the issue, they never contacted me. The room and hotel overall were clean etc but what good is a clean room and hotel if the room youre in doesnt have air and youve got to sleep in it for two days? Asked for refund and was told that wasnt possible since Id stayed in the room.....
Positive: Location and near alot of places..The girl that checked us in was nice and did put us on the first floor when I found out there was no elevator. Negative: They say you get breakfast and u dont and theres no reason for that my husband and I have been to alot of hotels latly that serve We told the desk that there was oreo cookies and that in the heater/AC unit and was there 2 more days and never came&clean
Cons:Two signs to identify the location at the road (one large one on a pole high up and one small one at ground level at the small road) - none on the building to identify it. Assume that the building off the side of the road set back a ways with the same color roof is it. Property lacks landscaping - lots of concrete with tall weeds growing up in the rocks. Smokers hover around the only entrance (no designated smoking area). Parking lot is *just* big enough to accommodate a full house. Continental breakfast is *barely* continental - limited sugary snacks with juice and coffee. Little sound insulation from the hallways so you can hear everyone coming and going late at night. Morning staff to check out was dressed in basketball shorts and a sports jersey - unprofessional, no uniform.Pros:Evening staff was professionally dressed in uniform and very nice. Room was very clean and tidy.
The hotel looked new on the interior. Everything was clean and the employees disinfected regularly. The price was excellent and they gave a military discount. The lobby always had hot coffee and restaurants were within walking distance. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely book a room.
Not the best. The rooms are nice but cable tv has no volume on certain channels, including ABC, and the beds are terrible! You sink 6 inches just sitting on the edge and float to the center when laying down. We have a jacuzzi room and they offered to move us. We reserved our room online and upon arrival someone else was in our room. I had to sit on the floor with my sleeping son while they told us there were no other rooms available and to search else where as they had no idea who was residing in our room. After a few minutes of calling around the front desk clerk said she reserved a room under her name for someone else that disconnected on the phone earlier that day. So we took the room. My son slept on a couch because there was only one bed. Following day we go to move rooms to have two beds -yay- and we tried to enjoy the rest of the day. Pool is gross, lines of dirt on the side, yellow neon nail found floating in the pool, used pad on the table. Don’t recommend unless your thrill seeking for an anxiety attack.
This hotel seemed to be updated a few years ago. It was a decent room. A few things needed a bit of attention but not enough for me to leave. Biggest concern was staff should be wearing masks and more hand sanitizer stations available through out the hotel. Oh and update the inroom coffee makers. Ick.
Had a two night stay first night was great, second not so much. The electric went out at 7am and didn’t come on unti 4:30pm. With that being said they would NOT do a refund for the second night so we could find a place with electric instead we only had the option to wait it out in the dark or lose our money and find a different hotel.. completely Unacceptable..
Positive: The room was clean Negative: I could hear people walking up and down the stairs. The walls were so thin I wasn¿t able to sleep because the people in the next room were snoring so bad. I stopped there to get rest before I drove another 7hrs home and I couldn¿t sleep. Wasted mone
The hotel is dirty and needs a Major clean up from The windows to the rooms down the hallways and the steps! I’ve already answered these questions and you keep asking the same questions expecting a different results!! Get rid of the carpeting it will continue to be a problem!!
I had reserved four rooms and paid and got the confirmations. On the night of the reservation as I was driving to the hotel, out of no where the hotel called and cancelled our reservations in the most unprofessional matter. I was left in the middle of no where with three families and kids with all the near by hotels fully bookedWith no network coverages. So miserable. I hope this doesnt happen to anyone else because they told me its normal for them to do that!
Clean rooms, friendly helpful staff. I dont agree with the $200 deposit you have to pay on the room and dont get it back for a week. Which tells me the company is collecting millions of dollars from customers and drawing interest on that money. Even if its only a week, that is a boatload of money they are collecting interest on. Thats like extortion if you ask me
I highly recommend this place, I liked the new tiles at the entrance, it looks so beautiful. The Beds and Pillows are very comfy. Love the updates this place has made since last year. I used to stay at this place even before it was a Quality Inn and I can say this is the BEST QUALITY INN HOTEL IN CLARE. Everything was new, fresh and Clean. I will be back soon. There are many restaurants around in walking distance.

Pros- Comfortable beds and pillows,Warm pool and a hot tub, free wifi and cable, close to tons of great restaurants, friendly staff.Cons- I paid 100 for my double queen room for one night and had to pay an extra 200 dollar deposit that I would get back in the morning as long as there was no smoking in the room and everything checked out the way it was when we got there. So in total to stay one night you need 300 bucks which if your on vacation looking for a hotel and you only have that 100 bucks in cash to your name its impossible to stay there. Thats my only dislike about quality in but they are not the only hotel in town that does that.Definitely recommend this place if you can cover the deposit. Also there is no continental breakfast because of covid but oh well still plenty of places to eat elsewhere.
This hotel is as expected for a facility at this level. There appeared to be a lot of construction or other similar workers staying here, judging by the trucks in the lot. That was fine; they were quiet. The check-in staff was friendly. But the hallways were not particularly clean, possibly because of dirty shoes in the halls? The King-sized bed was nice to have but it was too soft.
Easy check in, friendly staff, walking distance to restaurants, pool and hot tub were really nice, updates look beautiful so far. (Lower level still seems to be getting updated in some areas) Breakfast was better than expected. (usually am not a fan of hotel breakfasts) but I really enjoyed this one.
We stayed and didnt know it was under construction until we got there. The pool was down, which I can live with, however they were doing construction in there, and while it was raining, they were blowing construction debris all over our vehicles in the parking lot. It couldnt be wiped off, we were forced to go to a car wash and get it cleaned off. Its unfair to guests who drive nice vehicles to have to wash their cars, had I known it was under construction when I booked, and this would happen, I would have booked somewhere else. The room was nice, the staff was great so once they get the pool construction finished, Id recommend it. Until then, call before you book, as of early March 2020, its under construction.
We were in desperate need for a room for the night. The attendant was extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotel was in disrepair and filthy. The people that were supposed to be remodeling the rooms were laying on the floors on their phones with the doors open. Our room seemed to have been recently remodeled. The paint job was awful. The sink was installed wrong. The room and bedding seemed clean.
Outdated and rough around edges. Looks like this hotel is “working on it”. While rooms were clean and had updated carpets and tile, bedding was in very poor shape and tattered. Big disappointment was that the spa was under construction and as a customer I felt they should have let it be known at time of registration not on getting the keys to my room. This a big deciding factor for this important business and pleasure trip. Also had one computer with no chair in lobby but inaccessible due to wiring pulled in front of desk. We stayed 3 nights in a row at a hotel in Cadillac that was a competitor and paid the same price for a new room and great stay with breakfast early in the morning.
Room was clean, no bed bugs during my initial room check. But there was NO hot water in my room. I alled the day before to request late check out because I had to work from 2 am until 830 am and wanted a nap before I left. I was told that I would be charged $25 to stay late an hour and there was no sympathy for the fact that my room was without hot water.
From the moment I called to book this room to the moment we checked out, it was a great experience. Everyone that worked there was very pleasant and personable. Made sure we had everything we needed and offered assistance with a few things. I would for sure stay here again!
Over all was a nice place to stay. We stayed for 4 nights and the cleaning staff was exceptionally helpful. Willing to give extra towels when needed and to clean our room everyday. Breakfast is like every other free breakfast at any other hotel. Rooms were nice. Very convenient area with restaurants and shopping in walkable distance. We would stay again.
Checked in to our room and was gonna take a shower.....only to find a previous occupants hair stuck to the shower wall and what was left the shampoo they used🤦😣The people in the room next to us were so loud we couldnt sleep. They finally quieted down about 2:30amWe wont be back
Easy to find location off the freeway. Staff was courteous. Our non smoking room smelled a bit like stale smoke. Luckily the window opened. Room was decent sized but the beds were uncomfortable and squeaked when moving around. Both shower and bathroom fan were pretty noisy. Breakfast was decent. Pool was average. Overall, it was an inexpensive place to crash for the night, so my expectations werent very high.
The rooms were nice and for the most part the staff was nice however the lady at the front desk, Pam was not nice and does not belong in her position! She does not know how to handle customers and should absolutely not be working the front desk!! Shame on Quality Inn for allowing her to work, or should I say be hostile, to the customers! Xxv Being a choice hotel member I am ashamed at the choice this hotel made at having her handle customers. In the future please choose your front desk staff better!
Horrible beds! No volume on certain channels on TV. We stay tonights in a Jacuzzi suite which costs a lot of money and we could not even watch the Dick Clark New Years Eve ball show which was quite disappointing!! This was my husbands birthday the whole reason we came there to spend the night for new years Eve. Yet we couldnt even do something that we do every year!
Booked a room with a block for a wedding. When confirming the room the day of the reservation I inquired about their indoor pool. The person I spoke with informed me the pool would be closed to open swimming due to the hotel being at capacity. Not sure how that works, but ok. Checked in early, which was nice. Everything was clean, but the room had an odor reminiscent of grandmas musty attic. Not necessarily bad, but also not exactly inviting. Only real complaint was that there was no soap in the room that I was able to find. None. Not even a single bar of the cheap hand soap, or a tiny bottle of shampoo. Got to clean my hands with my body wash.
The room heater didn’t work and it was the end of November and freezing cold. I advised the staff and they came up and fiddled with it for a while and still didn’t work so they moved me and my 3 kids to the next room at 12am. We were then woken up at 5:45am by the guy in the next room listening to the news blaring (they put us in a room with only a door between us and the next room with a crack about a half inch off the ground so very little to no sound barrier between rooms) then we went down for breakfast and there was only 2.5 egg patties left. We were unable to swim or eat so we paid full price for 5.75 hrs of so/so sleep and refused any type of reconciliation attempt.
The hotel/room were clean and the staff was very courteous and helpful. It was a little difficult figuring out how to actually get to the hotel but we arrived at night and in the pouring rain so that might have had something to do with it.There are a lot of places to eat nearby and it is very convenient to the highway. And they are pet friendly which is a big plus for us!
The hot tub at the hotel was out of service and the front desk gave some lame excuse about being expensive to maintain. The pool water was murky and unappealing. The breakfast was fine and the room was fine but the pool and hot tub experience put a damper on our stay.
Ive stayed in this hotel multiple times and never had an issue. When we checked in I had asked for a room by pool in my reservation . The lady at the counter told me they were booked but she would check. Not a problem got a room by pool. My problem began around 11pm the toilet became clogged went up front no one was around, had to use bathroom by pool. After being woke at 630 to a fire alarm. When I knew everything was ok I went to desk to see if I could someone fix the toilet they handed me a plunger . When I went for breakfast some food had already ran out no coffee. My son complained at the desk and was told we would receive some type of reimbursement . And that a note was to be on my room. When I checked out nothing was mentioned even when I asked they acted like nothing. I wish the stay was better.
Very friendly staff, and the rooms were clean. Good location right off the freeway. Dated for sure. Breakfast bar was spotty during our three day stay. One day was great the other two not kept filled as it got busier in the morning. Also feel its worth mentioning that there is no elevator so if youre on the second floor, you will be lugging your bags upstairs by hand. All-in-all I would recommend for the price.
I took my grand kids to Clare to visit relatives. We stayed at the Quality Inn. The room was very clean and comfortable. The kids had a blast swimming in the pool and relaxing to the Disney channel on tv. Everyone was very nice to us. Next time I go to Clare I will be staying at the Quality Inn.
The staff during the day was phenomenal, 2nd shift was great. Im not exactly sure of the schedule there. We were in town due to my grandfather passing away and cleaning his home with family. We stayed Friday-Sunday. First off, we reserved a king size bed and that wasnt the room we got. They were willing to give us that room but it was in worse condition than the one we had. The room was dirty, mattress was ripped, box spring ripped open, the chair has a visible tear, stained, and an odor. The curtains had dust on them with Cobb Webbs, my moms bed had a pubic looking hair in bed under covers. One of those evenings my mom, who is 60 years young needed 3 key cards to get into room. NONE OF THEM WORKED AND THE MALE STAFF SAID HE COULDNT CLIMB STAIRS. FYI, THERE IS NO ELEVATOR!! The pool area was nice, hot tub was filthy, and unsupervised children yelling for 3 hours was miserable!! Ill definitely go back to the Doherty and Im pretty sure I convinced mom of the same thing.
I travelled to an event in Mt. Pleasant, MI and stayed at the Quality Inn in Clare, MI. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, except the biscuits and sausage gravy were a bit cold (and I love biscuits and sausage gravy). I thought it was a good price compared to other hotels. I would stay there again.
What a joke.So we send our Boys(good boys) up there to have a fun time without adults weekend 1st time since turning 18.No where does it say that you have to be 21 or older. They didnt want to stay with people who drink just wanted somewhere to swim, sleep and that would be fine enough. So a ruined weekend because you people cant post it on your website. How bout you fix that being your that close to Rocks n Valleys and other fun stuff to do!
This hotel was supposed to be refurnished and redone. They still have plenty of work to do. The carpets still need to be replaced in the hallway. The whirlpool was broken when we were there. The hallways are due to be repainted. I did like the new beds but there is still work to be done for the amount of money spent per night.
I give it no Stars, As I find it very unprofessional that the desk staff is entertaining guest as if it was a pay by hour hotel! I find it very unprofessional that it is with more than one employee. Long term guess should be just that, and there should be boundaries at a place of employment. Professionalism is not at its finest, so just a heads up. Men, you want a pleasant stay, ask for their special rates!
Very nice staff. Clean rooms BUT...the heater was off in the middle of winter and we had a freezing room for about 3 hours. No controls on the old outdated heater so I was up and down all night re-adjusting it because it was either too hot or too cold. Absolutely horrible, I got no rest at all. Will never go there again and wish I could get a refund.
The staff were friendly and responsive, but the room smelled of stale cigarettes and mold. The beds and TV were ancient. While the bathroom was clean, the bathtub stopper didnt work. Even though it was tourist season, I thought the price was too high for the room that I got. The free continental breakfast was a (minor) plus, just the basic one you get pretty much everywhere these days.
Like staying here, very covieniant, easy off and easy on the freeway, all in all I like staying here. Since the hotel I stayed in Mt pleasant was treating for bed bugs last week, so I had to go to another hotel. Had the large heat machines outside. Do not want to deal with that.
We got the room because of a memorial service for my mom and put my son daughter in law and our twin granddaughters in it. It appeared to be a old smoking room that had been painted, you could still smell it. They did not tell us about it until the next morning because they knew we had a lot on our minds. We would have pulled them out and gone elsewhere. Very disappointed here!Tim Wangler
The rooms are old, beds are so hard and uncomfortable, the second night my mothers room had no heat , she called downstairs and the front desk said there was no maintenance man , he came to the room and unplugged the unit and said I can switch you rooms and give you ten dollars off. Mind you it was midnight . Who wants to switch rooms that late. I had asked for a manager and was told no one was working till Thursday that was management. I asked for a phone call and still have not received a call. There is also no elevator in this place. So if you are handicap like my mother who can barely do stairs this not the place. The breakfast signs say 7 am to 10 am. At 930 there was nothing. No coffee , no cereal , NOTHING. The ironing board was completely broken and was un able to use. I wont even give this place any stars. One of the worst hotels Ive ever stayed in. Especially for the price.
Worst stay ever. Room was outdated. Burn holes in blankets. Staff was rude. Fire alarm went off around 5am. Scared my 6 year old daughter. Never found out why. Got charged for missing towels when we took them to the pool with us. Breakfast was not stocked. Will NEVER go back.
Hotel is not quiet. We could hear everything said in the room next to ours. Also could hear snoring from same room during the night. Room itself was clean but could use some TLC to clean sloppy paint job in bathroom. Mattress was way to soft. Probably not good for your back.
While the staff were quite friendly and very accomodating, this property clearly needs some updates. The room was very run down, and the plumbing is in need of service. Faucets were hard to turn on/off, had to go get some WD40 to make sink faucet work. They were clearly getting ready for some renovation, so hoping the next visit to Clare will be after they have done some work.
Ok I will give them credit they are remodeling. For just floors redone the room was WAY OVER PRICED. The workers are staying there and they started working at 10:00 pm!! Was very loud their radio was so loud!!! Called the front desk the young lady was very nice only thing this hotel had going good she went and told them twice to turn it down and quite down. They did for about 10 minutes. Very very dissatisfied with this Quilty Inn.
I consider 3 stars to be adequate. I found this place to be slightly less than adequate. I travel a lot for work, and this hotel rates slightly worse than my stay in Fargo. It was impossible to get my room to be a comfortable temperature and the phone had clearly been yanked from the wall and wasnt working. To add to this, the bathroom was so small that if you sat on the commode with the bathroom door open, not only was closing the door impossible, but the door itself, locked in the open position was blocking the toilet paper! ONE THING I MUST SAY: The staff were very kind and helpful. They were very eager to do what they could to make your visit as comfortable as possible and ALWAYS offered a smile.
AVOID! None of the rooms are renovated. Sleeping on a little bit bigger than a twin. So imagine how old the mattresses are. It is a drop off on weekends for parenting time for noncustodial parents. The pool was a zoo. I would avoid at all costs :-). Go a little further to Mount Pleasant.

2022-02-28Large amount of parking, beautiful clean outside the hotel. Inside was very clean, staff smiled and greeted us when we passed. Very quiet! Front desk was so friendly and helpful. The hallway was clean and quiet. The room was simple with lots of extra space! Cleaned very well, but very minimal amenities; nothing to complain about! The only issue I found was the pool. It really needed to be clean, not the actual pool but there was a ring around the side of the pool from dirty and oil and it was gross. They need to paint and spend some time fixing up the pool area, its rather run down and gross.

2022-01-11For New Years eve I booked thru a third party without knowing when you checked in they would charge you a $200 deposit. Since I booked the room that did not have a refund, I had to pay knowing I wouldnt get the money returned to me until at least Monday. This was Friday night. The room I booked was for a king size bed- it wasnt available so they upgraded me to 2 queen size beds. I didnt need 2 beds- it was just my husband and myself- I wanted a king size bed. They acted as though they were doing me a favor by upgrading to 2 beds, like I should be grateful. No. I didnt get what I paid for. I wanted a king size bed, not 2 queens. How was I supposed to sleep with my husband in 2 beds for 1 night. The first room they gave us wouldnt open. I walked to the front desk 3 times before the clerk finally came and tried to open the door himself. He couldnt open the door so thats when we got upgraded, 20 minutes later. 20 minutes to just get into a room to put down our things.Im not impressed.. at... all.

2022-01-05The bedroom was nice and clean, the carpet was nicely vacuumed, with my allergies this is always a problem for me. The bed and Sheets were fairly comfortable. The indoor pool was ok. For families with with children this would be ideal since is just 3 feet deep all around, having a hot tub was a plus. They provide Continental breakfast. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. Overall it was good experience.

2022-03-01The staff was friendly and welcoming the pool is open until 10 pm the room was clean could use some touch ups but was well kept the bed was a little uncomfortable on the firm side. The hotel is near stores, food, gas and expressway. They do offer breakfast and coffee.

2022-04-30Tv works when it wants to? Bathtub doesnt hold water? Rooms are clean and look like recently redone which is nice but should have construction company come back and go through stuff. Just to sit back and sleep rooms are super clean and comfy

2022-02-23Rooms were clean other then finding dirty wash clothes in the bathtub. Breakfast was a joke. Every thing so sparse. No jelly for toast. The pool room looks horrible. Hot tub was dirty. Kids jumping in and out over the side. Not enjoyable at all.

2022-02-01Positive: Convenient location and staff was friendly.. Negative: Kids running around unattended. Something in the room made us all congested. We were all fine once we left. There was hardly any food for breakfast. We ended up going out for breakfast.

2022-04-02The room was clean and the staff was nice but I am giving them a bad review because we came in late last night (which isn’t on them) but at 8:15am they had a company come in and start changing locks and were in the room right next to ours when we called the front desk we were told “we have no control of when the company comes” we preceded to get up at that point because we obviously couldn’t go back to sleep. When we checked out I asked why they were banging, drilling, sawing right next to our room and again I was told they have no control when the company comes in and there’s nothing they can do about it…I don’t believe that what so ever and I complained that we are paying customers and we paid money to stay there but they have no control over anything?? Come on. I would also write a bad review for the company but the guys only speak Spanish, wear normal shirts not company shirts and they drive their personal vehicles. So if you want to sleep in on a Saturday morning…don’t go there!!
