I’ve been looking everywhere for chamomile (later in the season) and they had it here. I live far away so I had to call and check and Fran was above and beyond helpful. I’ve never been here before and there is so much good stuff!! I will definitely be coming back:)
This is the best place around to find anything nursery. The best healthy plants in town, they recommend Mikes for your plants this is not a waste of money. Thank you Ray Wiegands nursery for telling me about this product. My plants are doing great. And as far as ponds Luke is the best WOW he is the greatest guy. Pond fish here are very healthy.
Worst service ever! One worker wrongly told me the name of a plant I was trying to identify. Another worker looked and couldn’t figure it out and called who they said was the expert. I was told to wait and he would be over. I waited 10 minutes and he came to talk to another worker nearby and said he was out for the day. A waste of my time.

Best Family owned garden center in the Midwest. Largest selection of trees and many more unique plant materials you wont find anywhere else with exceptional quality and costumer service. A must stop place for all seasons from spring to Christmas you wont be disappointed!
Very good selection of indoor/outdoor plants and flowers among other various things (Christmas lights, pots, soil, yard decorations). Customer service is good, very knowledgeable employees. Lucy was very helpful and knew a lot about the succulents and box bushes we were looking for.
As evidenced by their automated recording when you call Wiegands, it is obvious they dont want to be bothered with phone calls. They state every reason why you SHOULDNT call them. And if you decide to hold for a live person, you get put on indefinite hold. To me, thats poor customer service.

I purchased 2 houseplant trees from Wiegands and the first was infested with fungus gnat larvae. Wiegands was accommodating and exchanged it for me. However last night I found a millipede IN MY BED and thought it was strange. So I checked the other plant I purchased from them and it’s infested with millipedes and snails 🙄. I love Wiegands nursery for lots of reasons but stay away from the houseplants unless you want uninvited creatures to come home with you.UPDATE: my replacement tree is suffering from root rot. I have had it at home for ONE WEEK. Stop selling damaged plants that don’t stand a chance. What a waste of money!
This is the best full service nursery in the Detroit metro area, and when I say full service, I mean full service. The selection of plant material and supplies are extensive, and the quality of the merchandise is excellent. They offer a greater selection of trees and shrubs than any other place and can plant them for you as well. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Prices are higher than most, but this is what the best looks like.
What a disappointment. After going to this business for 15 years to purchase grave blankets for my parents, I can no longer recommended it to ANYONE. Today I purchased my usual two grave blankets. When I got to the cemetery it had fallen into three separate pieces since the styrofoam was completely waterlogged from the rain. I called the manager from the cemetery to tell him this. He told me I needed to bring the blanket back or show him a picture for any discount or store credit. It was windy and snowing and he wanted me to drive back to the grave blanket I just pieced back together and pull it apart again to prove that it was broken. What on earth after 15 years of loyalty would I lie about this? Unbelievable. Will never go back there again. Jim the manager told me “have a nice day” and hung up on me. Over priced and poor customer service.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The cypress we were looking at had no tag or price and could not be found in the system. The staff gave us a fair price, comparing to similar species. Their selection of perennials, shrubs, and trees are vast and the staff very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this nursery!
Love them. The staff are wonderful and the stuff they put up with is immense. There was a guy yelling at the clerk because she told him that he had to have a tarp cover his truck for them to fill his truck with mulch. Not her rule, so dont yell at her.
This place is beautiful with anything you could need for an outdoor garden! They also dont have the same basic plants as everyone else. What an excellent selection! I will come back for any of my plant needs! The staff seems pretty friendly and happy to be there which is always a plus!

Looking for 1-2 large and a few small trees also browsed other areas. Trees were not as large as I wanted but prices were much cheaper than I thought. Nobody offered to help me or even said hello when entering or when I spent 30-40 min burning up outside in the sun.There were more people working than shoppers as it was a Tuesday afternoon. The employees all seemed too busy to be bothered and several cruised right past me on golf carts. I guess they dont get commission here. 4 stars because the trees looked good and prices were great. 0 stars for customer service. Dont know how they stay in business if they avoid customers.
These beauties are on sale for $39, the elephant ears run $39 alone! You get the pot and all the 4 other plants - there gorgeous! Yep I bought two!
One of my favorite area garden centers.One of the few locations that regularly stocks (Michigan) native plants. Watch for sales and coupons. Quality is good and the gift shop is very nice too. Big selection. Trees, firewood, mulch seeds, perennials, annuals and everything related garden & landscaping.
I will never buy an indoor plant from them again. Ever since I bought 3 indoor plants , each a different variety, (spending over $150) I have had an infestation of gnats. I have tried many recommended remedies with no success. 2 of the 3 are gone and the 3rd is going now. I can not stand all of these bugs flying around in my home. FYI these were the first live plants I have had in my home in 30 years. Just thought they were better than this.

Love Ray Wiegands Nursery, this location is 20 mins from home. Even now during a pandemic they are providing so many different decor and plants. Yesterday baught 8 white pumpkin(table decor) for my wedding this coming Oct. 3rd
A bit on the pricey side, but they have a huge selection of plants and theyre plant, trees, etc. Are healthy.

Visited nursery in mid-March to get ahead of the landscape season. Interested in quick sketch design/complete landscape design. Sent dimensions and photos of area to consultant. After a month, I reached out for an update. On April 30, I was asked to send information again. As of today, still no response. Extremely dissatisfied with the customer service.
I never write reviews. Jim the manager very disrespectful. I purchased 7 pieces of Sod that were basically dead. The guys loading up the sod in my car told me this sod has been there for a long long time. I brought it back home and next day basically dead. They were watered and taken care of by me but obviously the store does not take care of their sod while it’s been sitting at their store for weeks. They refused to refund my money and expected me to bring back the Sod that is super heavy and muddy that I already threw in the garbage. Ray Weigends and manager Jim basically Stole $50.00 from me and sold me their dead left over sod. Very disappointed. I am a regular customer and will never go there again.
An absolute delight to walk through anytime of year, especially the holidays. They carry a wide variety of decor for indoor and outdoor.
Updating my review to four stars because Bob working in the outdoor tree area is great. After many visits and phone calls trying to get a Jack Pear Tree Bob went above and beyond for us. He drove us to the back to look for a Jack Pear through dozens of pear trees. Unfortunately we couldn’t find one so Bob went a step further and talked to his manager to confirm that they didn’t have any at the farm so we wouldn’t have to keep coming back and calling all season long in search for a Jack Pear. He even then went on to suggest a range of other trees to us and went into detail about the trees which the previous associates didn’t do. Even though we didn’t get the Jack Pear in the end we are still more happy with Wiegand’s now after working with Bob. I hope the management knows how much of an asset Bob is.The employees are knowledgeable with plants and trees but it seems every visit the important information changes. Start of spring we were told quick sketch landscape design cost $45 and didn’t need an appointment, called a few weeks later to be told that it was by appointment only which we signed up for but haven’t received a call back over a week later. Last week we were told they prefer not to hold purchased trees for too long, we wanted to pay for Wiegands contractor to deliver and install the tree, today we are told the tree we want is sold out and the contractor is booked up for over a month so we could’ve bought the tree last week and had it held until the contractor could install it. Inconsistencies in information like this can really mess up landscape planning.

Awesome people !! Nobody was available to discuss a problem Im having with a maple tree - the gal who answered the phone suggested I leave a message and someone would return the call !! Much to my total shock -- THEY DID !!! Got a return call a few hours later from the nicest woman in the world. Unfortunately, I was so stunned that I forgot to ask her name. Thank you for doing what you said you would do !! Wonderful customer service.
Really bad customer service. Waited ten minutes to get top soil loaded. Ended up getting a refund and going somewhere else. Customer service reps too busy to guide you to correct location to pick up top soil
Amazing inventory and the plant selections are the best in Macomb County period. My mother always buys her stuff from here and she has been coming here for over 20 years now. I myself have come here many times as well and I am very impressed. I highly recommend coming here you wont be disappointed at all. The customer service is outstanding and everyone is very friendly. Nobody in my family has ever had an issue at Ray Wiegands Nursery.

Lots of plants, flowers and shrubs to choose from. Knowledgeable employees and they require you to wear a mask which is a plus for me. You will find those individuals who still want to break the rules after they are inside, so my motto - Wear a mask now or a ventilator later. Great place. Prices are reasonable and even though Im not anywhere near a green thumb, their plants always do well in my yard. No shade in the parking lot so you dont want to bring your dogs and leave them in the car.

I’m always sure to find what I’m looking for at Weigands. I don’t have much of a green thumb so the staff is always so helpful and knowledgeable. I had a huge landscaping job last year and all of my plants are still looking great. I live over 30 minutes away but I still make the trip because I know I won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend this nursery.
Not the biggest selection of smaller houseplants if your looking for those types of gifts, but very nice flower and outdoor plant selection. They also have some pretty good service
VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!Needed some screened top soil. I called 1st and asked if they had it and the customer service representative said yes.So I head over and pay for it. As the employee was putting in my truck I heard what sounded like rocks. Stopped the loader and said is this screened? Response I dont know Let him finish loading thinking I asked for screened and Im at Ray Wiegands so it has to be top notch products.Drove 70 miles and started to unload and found its full of Rock. Super disappointed I was filling forms from concrete. I had just raked my yard until it was spotless from all of the digging.As I unloading it I realized it is mostly rock and then found GLASS SHARDS in it as well. Realized this is not even good Fill Dirt at this point.Called the store the next day. Spoke to a manager and explained the above. He took my number and said. I dont know if its screened or not now all the pieces fit. If management is unaware of the products they are selling. How can the staff !!!!Back to the number he takes my number and says. I will speak to my boss on Monday and call you back Well its Thursday still no call.Everyone beware of the products you buy here. I will never return.I gave them the chance to make it right !!!!

What a great place. Recently revamped ourBackyard for a summer event. We needed new stubs and some ideas for the new patios we had installed as we removed everything and started from scratch. weigands helped us with not just picking stuff that would work and grow they helped lay it out with our new decking. The stuff is high quality and it looks super. Will be purchasing all our lawn and garden needs from here out from this location. Thanks for the guidance and for adding the finishing touches to our newly renovated back yard. Very happy.
Every year its my go-to store for all my lawn and garden needs! The knowledge of the workers is amazing! Many times Ive brought a weed or a flower in and asked whats this? and they always have a quick answer, description, and knowledge of if its a problem and how to get rid of it without harming the surrounding plants or grass...I absolutely recommend Wiegands to everyone!
We took sketches and photos of our new planting areas, and they spent a lot of time with us to help plan and pick out new plantings. We ended up buying 2 truck loads of plants, and now have a beautiful new garden that we couldnt have done by ourselves.

Ive been going here for years as a landscape contractor they have the best plants in the state everythings grown here in Michigan and the stuff thats not is brought in from top notch nurseries from around the United States
Super cute, except I found mealybugs a few days after purchasing my crispy fern from here! It was never placed with any of my other plants, and I only had it for 3/4 days before I noticed, so it absolutely came from the nursery. Please check your plants before taking them home! These will suck the life out of all your plants if not caught early enough!
Best nursery and greenhouse in the Metro-Detroit area, hands down. Their selection of perennials and shade plants is especially impressive.

Great selection, great pond plants and fish. Very expensive for average quality trees and shrubs , plants and flowers are more reasonably priced but larger items are priced as if they were from high end growers. You can do better having trees and shrubs shipped to you from online growers, even with the added cost of shipping.
Every time I walk through the Christmas displays I find a new item! This place displays such great ideas that I can do to pretty up my house with their things I purchase! Today there were more things on sale and The Almond Hut was there. Win-win for me!
I go here for work almost every day, and am met with highly skilled professionals of horticulture each and every time. Very friendly staff, they greet me by my first name. Im beginning to build a friendship with these people and Im perfectly okay with that.I highly recommend to anyone for any needs of foliage. I love this place.
Had contacted Pond Guy for pond supplies to replace old pump and filter. Was back ordered over 6 weeks. Cancelled order and a friend suggested Wiegands. Stopped in Saturday morning and met Luke. Wiegands will be our preferred pond store going forward. Such great customer service and information. Love everything he suggested for us.
I was able to find the plants I was looking for when no where else seemed to carry them. And extras...Everything was displayed nicely, and the plants all seemed to be in great shape.All staff I interacted with were pleasant and helpful.
I tried asking about a spruce pine and this red-headed lady was very rude & continuously ignored my questions. Would never go back there again.Thank God for English Gardens, I got my questions quickly answered & a reasonable price on my tree.
I have shopped at Wiegands for years. I have found that they have very healthy product and a great selection. However, I was there on a Friday morning in mid-May and was shocked to see that there was not one employee in the nursery area (which is a large space) to help customers. I had questions about a bush but left without buying anything because I couldnt find any staff. Also, there was an entire table of spikes that were not priced, no signage and when an annual clerk called the number in to find the price, there was no item coming up. May is a very busy time, seems like they would have made more of an effort to get their shop staffed.
High-end everything for your garden needs. A very lovely place to spend some time browsing around to get new ideas for your outdoor needs. I guarantee, you cannot leave without buying something that catches your eye.Super nice customer service. An absolute must see ! Enjoy ! 😄
Emily was a great deal of help as we explored various plants for our yard. She was tremendously patient and friendly. We have some great ideas and will measure twice and return for the plants next weekend
When decorations are $50 for something I can get at Kirklands or CTS for $20, AND an employee tells me thats NOT what I want, when I clearly came there for that item, its time to spend my hard earned cash elsewhere.

I simply just love this place. They always have what I want. I love all the fairy garden items they have. Its very enjoyable and fun to look at and buy them too. Sometimes I will go there just to look around because it makes me feel good.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Went to find flowers for my home. None of the flowers or pots had the tags that indicate sun status (shade, full sun, part sun, etc.). Employees to busy stocking and couldnt be bothered to help. This is the second time Ive had this experience. I tried to ask for a manger on the way out. I tried to reach out via Facebook. Then I posted a review on Facebook. This resulted in me being blocked from posting comments or sending messages. No accountability, no ownership, no apology, no hey thanks for the feedback well look into this, absolutely nothing but them blocking a customer. Very disheartening.

Recently purchased a 4 Cleveland Pear tree, quite large. Wiegands has a huge selection of trees. Very satisfied with the work crew that planted the tree. They took the time to make sure it was at the correct depth, straight and well staked. This size tree is expensive particularly when having it delivered and planted but it was well worth the cost.
This place truly has the pros in nursery and lawn care. Purchased a home last summer that had an awful lawn. My husband and I felt no big deal we can fertilize and get it back. Was not the case, we tried a multitude of fertilizers and tips given, no success. Sod companies said kill it all off and resod. That was the plan until we tried one last effort and took some photos in to weigands. The gal knew exactly what the issue was and gave us a 2 step spray treatment. We noticed a change within 2 weeks of first application, followed with second shortly before cold weather set in and then followed her spring recommendations this season. Our grass was beautiful thick and disease free all summer. Highly recommend them for outdoor lawn shrub and tree issues. This gal knew her stuff.
I was at Wiegand’s today. As a first responder I know of many places giving discounts but can’t keep track. I asked the cashier kindly if they were offering any and she snapped at me NO, Wiegand’s NEVER gives discounts. Well excuse me for asking! Disappointed with the attitude and a totally unacceptable response to a paying customer.
They have everything you need for around a home flowers pottery some Landscaping things patio furniture the stores beautiful plants are healthy price is on little bit of the expensive side if price is not a factor this is the store for you dont even need to shop around and I just want to let everybody know you do get what you pay for at least you do at this store
We bought a small tree and 2 hanging plants and the one hanging plant died. We took it back just to be told the hanging plants are not guaranteed!!! We have been shopping there for years but this would be our last visit.
Debbie was AWESOME!!!! She looked at the picture of our house and gave is some great ideas. She took her time with us. We did not feel rushed or that we were bothering her. If you go, ask for Debbie. Landscaping Project and Plant PurchasesWe have bought plants and bushes and trees from Wiegands over the years and been happy with all.Always got good advice and good quality, one or two times needed to return something we were taken care of.We needed to re-do our front yard, add trees to backyard, replace entire lawn and improve drainage around our house. Never considered Wiegands even though we heard they offered design services. After several disappointing and over-priced proposals we finally gave Wiegands a try. Very pleasantly surprised. The gem we found is Theresa Miller their designer. She has all the skill, patience and understanding, she put in the time and effort to get everything right and to make sure we understood all we wanted or needed and how best to go about it. Theresa also hooked us up with a good landscaping company, part of the design services. Project had several twists & turns but both Theresa and the landscape company took care of everything all the way through to the end and the project turned out great.Very happy with whole Wiegand experience and would recommend highly.

If I could give zero stars I would. What horrible customer service experience ever. Looking to buy Christmas tree and go to the Christmas sale and there was probably 12 trees. While looking at a tree my husband was looking at a plug on the tree and he was rudely grabbed by an employee and told not to touch the trees. She stated he was going to cause the tree lights to go out. He was trying to explain that he was just trying to see what the plug was for she continued to scold him like he was a child all the while she has a mouth full of food. We left and I looked on line and found the exact same tree on line and it is $100 less and free shipping. Not to worry Ray Wiegands - we wont be back!

I enjoy shopping at Wiegands because the plants are healthy; there isa good selection and plenty of staff to assist customers. Most importantly, the staff is knowledgeable and willing to help you select the right plants for your garden exposure.
Weekend is an issue due to safe crowd control. Best to go during the week where you can be safe and quick in and out. Great tree selection and tree expertise.

Friendly, helpful (if youre looking for a specific item, they actually take you there), informative & honest (they answer your questions and if they dont know the answer, they dont BS you, they ask other employees, until they get informed answer). Love their spring workshops.

Outstanding Butterfly House and Zack, particularly is very knowledgeable! They then have nectar and host plants available right there and so one can be assured they have not been treated with a repellent.
I give an A+ for customer service, but their prices are astronomical. For the same brand of roses that I used to purchase for $16/ea. (very high quality), Weigands charges at LEAST $30, unless youre lucky enough to catch a sale... And theres NO WARRANTY. For my $16 roses (again, the exact same brand and breeds), I received a one year warranty at Semrau at Stephens and Gratiot. Not only that, but I purchased two rose plants at full price, and when I came home, the soil was bug-ridden and the plants were beyond dead. Since Weigands has been around so long (I went to high school with Becky Weigand, and the place had been around long before then), and because the prices are through the roof, Id ASSumed Id purchased viable plants. NOPE! .. And when Id asked for, at the very least, an exchange, they may have well just told me to suck it.If you wipe your butt with $20s, and love expand your bug collection, shop here!

2022-04-23This place has a great selection, but we’ve been disappointed on a few occasions by them now. We purchased a half dozen 8’ arbor vitaes less than a year ago, and we were assured that if we bought the myke’s product too and had the trees delivered and planted by their team, the trees would be covered under a 1 year warranty. When the tree finally arrived for planting, 1 had very clearly been swapped out for a much smaller size. We took pictures and went into the store, and they did make it right by refunding a portion of the price for the smaller tree so that we only paid for the actual product size that we received. Not ideal, because 1 tree looks out of place, but we were satisfied. Fast forward and despite our best efforts 1 of the other trees is dying. We took pictures into the store and they agreed to replace it under warranty, took us out to pick out the new tree, got us scheduled for planting, and then at the last minute told us that the ‘only hook’ was that the price of the tree now has gone up $70 since the time we bought it, and we would be required to pay the difference. This is a 35% increase over what we paid less than a year ago!!! We asked if they would work with us, or split the increase and they declined. They said it was always technically a ‘price warranty’. It’s just that no one really communicated it to us that way at the time.. they just said that the tree would be ‘replaced’. So now our options are to be price-gouged on a replacement tree OR have a gap in our natural fence. Neither is really great. We purchased the trees and had them professionally planted, expecting that they would thrive.. and when one didn’t make it they really should replace the tree and not just try to make an extra buck off of us.

Not only do I like to shop there but its fun to walk around and enjoy the scenery...and that butterfly garden I didnt know they had in the back! Super cool :)

2021-09-06Love this store. They have everything you need. One stop shop. The prices are reasonable too. My girlfriend bought a Pink Dogwood tree for my memorial garden (our pet passed). I went and bought 2 Snowball Bushes to add to that. Im very happy.

2022-06-04Helpful staff to assist you navigate all the plants. Seasonal things going on all the time. Love coming here in the fall for the autumn activities.Later this summer were returning to get ideas and advice on our butterfly garden, when the butterfly exhibit opens for the season

2021-08-11We had some landscaping done in front of our house and Christian and his crew were wonderful. They carefully went over our plan and willingly did a few tweaks that we requested. They were meticulous.in planting, installing edging & vapor barrier and spreading stone. They even filled in bare spots around the edging with grass seed. We couldn’t be happier with the finished product. Great job guys.

2022-05-29Ray is an upscale garden center and on average their prices are a little higher. The quality of the plants is excellent and the variety is great. I got water plants and the water hyacinth was the same price as last year! I love this nursery and shop here every year.

2022-04-21My husband and I really enjoy shopping at Wiegands Nursery. The entire staff is knowledgeable and Weigands is our go to store for plants, trees and everything necessary for their health. The staff inside and out are always friendly and helpful.At Christmas time, the store is simply magical and there is NOTHING they do not have to make a home Christmas wonderland. My favorite part in the store is their Nativity scene. Without fail, we go there every year and it gets our hearts in the spirit and excited for the Christmas holidays. Well be shopping there for many years to come and always recommend Weigands to our friends and family.
