I think my mother is in good hands, all who work there try very hard to make things nice for those seniors who live there. However because of so many seniors and not enough help and two people to a room made it unsafe for our mother, and we opted for a new one person to a room facility and gave her peace of mind, Regency is good but expensive! Think hard before placing your parents in anywhere until you do your homework.
Was able to create my own meals by telling them what I wanted. Although there were issues with timing the food was pretty good, especially breakfast. My nurses were very good and most of the aides were cheerful and caring. My PT and OT were terrific. They helped me move forward more quickly than I thought I could. I would recommend it.
When my mom needed long-term care, Regency at Grand Blanc welcomed her.The staff takes the time to get to know my mom and treats her with kindness and respect. The knowledgeable nurses, CNAs, Activities staff and receptionists are wonderful. They are positive, upbeat and always helpful. The great housekeeping staff maintains a very clean facility. Mom really appreciates the good food and meal choices - also enjoys happy hour!I would definitely recommend Regency at Grand Blanc to anyone looking for quality care in a positive, friendly and safe environment.
I start off with the some of staff is very rude and unprofessional it’s mostly the younger aids that have bad attitudes. My grandmother there’s a huge bald spot with a clump of hair and a scab really looks like she was dragged from the door to the bathroom she fell but we got three different stories of where and how. Wait 25 minutes because she had an accident my mom ended up putting on gloves and cleaning her up. I do not recommend putting your mom or grandmother or anyone in this horrible facility. Leon Keith Haven and Flynn so keep your eyes out.
The only good thing about this place is that the grounds are beautiful and the therapy room is nice. All public areas are beautiful, however, dont let it deceive you into thinking that the care, food, service or anything else about the place rate at all. Waiting well over an hour to use the restroom and then send another team in to take care of the patient. The nurses aides seem too busy talking about their boyfriends instead of patient care. The people that are there need help because they are hurting. They are communicating more on cell phones than meeting the patients needs. The rooms are not cleaned regularly and the food was adequate. My Father had a very difficult and unhappy, uncomfortable stay. We would not recommend this at all.
Regency would be great if they could find a way to shorten the call button response time and improve the communication with the kitchen/dietary staff. Gerard was outstanding, good listener and diligent, Shaquilla (on 2nd, I think) was one of the few who would ask if there was anything you needed and actually came back with it. She is a really good worker and I would like to see her get some much deserved recognition. My mom loved her. She was willing to take care of minor requests no one else would follow thru with (cup of ice, extra pillow, etc.) I was always relieved to see either of them when I visited my mother. Nicole, the social worker, could benefit from some coaching as she called my mom by the wrong name about 5 wks of her 6 wk stay. It usually takes an hour or more to get a meal/sandwich once requested, she was given the wrong very strong med for days until we noticed she was slurring and disoriented, bathroom would be a mess all day after they gave her a shower and after she developed a sore, the staff was very resistant to use the cream because it is hard to wipe off. Giving this much detail in hopes to help the next family make a more informed decision according to their persons needs. Its not a bad place at all but youdefinitely have to be a pest in order to get what you need and thats unfortunate.
The truth is no family wants their loved ones away from home, especially as their needs become more intense and demanding. We couldn’t have been more blessed than to have the care for our mom housed at Regency. They encompass family, care, compassion and their entire staff from culinary, housekeeping tomedical care are passionate about each and every individual need. They make it appoint to be an extended family whether your family needs are short term or long term. Thank you, Regency, for wrapping your arms around our mom and taking such great care of her and all of us. We’ll forever be grateful.
For a beautiful facility this place is such a HUGE disappointment. The only thing good about this place is the rehab therapists and the food. The nursing staff and the House PA are a big joke, horrible at best. My mother had a massive heart attack over a year ago and we put her in there for rehab. If not for our family being as assertive as we are and making sure Mom is taken care of she would’ve been neglected. Come one year later mom has another heart attack And again we put her in there (our mistake) For rehab. Our mother was so neglected by the entire medical staff. They send the CNAs to do all the dirty work while the LPNs are not paying attention to the patient or the physical or mental state of their patients and their needs and the medications that their patients need. On my visit to my mother to have lunch with her I had to have them call an ambulance because she was in such physical distress and no one knew it because they were hanging at the desk on that particular day and not watching how swollen my moms ankles were from fluid overload or how labored her breathing was. My mother ended up in the hospital for another week because of fluid overload because they never monitored her intake and output (she has CHF and is an A Fib patient ) and lo and behold come to find out they never gave her the medications correctly they omitted one altogether and continued to not put her on fluid restrictions. When my sister went to pick up my mothers stuff because we were never going to put her back in that place again it took over an hour to find my mothers stuff because they threw everything in bags Which were located all over the facility. This is a horrible place and I would never recommend it to anyone. A friend that works with me pulled her mother from there because the mother had to go to the bathroom and no one would answer the call button and the mother fell and broke her hip trying to go on her own. That should’ve been our cue not to put our mother back in there the second time but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. My mom is now at Wellbridge And it’s like night and day difference in the care that she is receiving. It is outstanding at the least which is the way a rehab facility should be.Regency needs a complete overhaul from management all the way down. Keep the kitchen staff keep the therapists they are the only good thing about that place. Lesson learned!
I came to Regency in June of 2017 after being hospitalized for a broken leg. I was greeted with a great deal of warmth and kindness which brought tremendous ease entering a rehab facility not knowing what to expect. Being younger than the majority of Regencys residents I came with a ton of preconceived notions about being in an old folks home.lolEvery single inaccurate notion was dispelled by the wonderful staff and their unwavering desire to make my unpleasant situation as pleasant as they possibly could. The facility itself is remarkable with a 5 star hotel atmosphere as soon as you enter the door. The food is stellar!!Everyone from the CNAs, Nurses, Kitchen and Maintenance Staff, Laundry staff and their remarkable PT and OT crew as well as Admin were superb and took incredible pride in what they did.Regencys PT and OT staff were quite impressive, the entire Therapy department was extremely supportive. They encouraged, inspired and celebrated me at every accomplishment...especially on the days I did not want to be there. The energy when you walk, or roll, into the therapy room was contagious and captivating it invigorated me so many days when I so did not feel like therapy. I love them all.My stay at Regency was a little over 11 months...yes 11 months. They turned out to be 11 of the most amazing, exciting and unforgettable months of my life. They took excellent care of me.I will be forever grateful to every single staff member at the Regency of Grand Blanc, from my 1st day until my last, for their part in facilitating my recovery and adding so much life to my life and Regency experience. When I came I did not want to be there...when it was time for me to leave it was a very sad (and happy) moment because I had developed so many great relationships and friendships.Would I recommend Regency of Grand Blanc to others? In a heartbeat I would!
Management Is Very Unprofessional, I’ve Seen Them Treat Their Staff Very poorly. My Grandmother Was there For Three Months But Only Got Washed up A couple Times And showered TWICE I wouldn’t Recommend This Place To My Dog Very Horrible. The Food Made My granny sick She Said the food Tasted As it was Old or had been sitting out over night. My Granny called home crying numerous of time sayin her call light have been on and no one ever came even if they did it would be an excuse of it being short staffed or they had a lot of residents to take care of. This place would never get any more of my MONEY
On Dec.22, 2015, my wife was transferred to the Regency of Grand Blanc for rehab in her recovery from a brain aneurysm. At the time she arrived there, she had been bed ridden for two months. The staff immediately started her rehabilitation program. My wife was using a feeding tube and had a tracheotomy tube, so there were physical limitations. Once they were removed, she began her recovery. The nurses, rehab staff and all the Cenas were all outstanding. They worked hard and were always available when needed. A special shout out to the ladies who were the Rehab specialists. Vanessa, April and Tammy were awesome. They spend numerous hours making sure that my wife could get to a point where she could do as much as possible for herself. They were tough, but most of all, they were caring and made it as much fun as possible. The facilities at the Regency were outstanding. The community dining room was very clean and the meals were scheduled in advance with numerous options available. There were places to visit with the patients inside and out. We would recommend the Regency in a heartbeat to those who are faced with a need and very little time to visit a lot of other facilities. We visited three before we made our decision and it was a no brainer, the Regency was by far the best that we seen.
My grandfather was terrified of Regency but would never tell us why. I believe it was because he was mistreated while being rehabilitated here three years ago. The reason he was there for 20 days and not the full five weeks of recommended treatment was because we pulled him from Regency and put him into a different rehab facility so he could get better care. I have only learned about his stay here to this extent in the past few weeks and am quite furious at how my loving grandfather was treated. The only time he was taken out of his room was for one treatment of therapy in the morning every day. He was never taken around for any additional exercise or activities. He had two baths during his 20 day stay. When he did get a bath, he was handled roughly to put it mildly. He had his sheets changed once because he had an accident. When they changed him from that accident, they tossed his soiled clothes in a bag. We were not told that he had an accident so the clothes stayed in the bag for several days in the closet. When my mother found these, she immediately asked what happened. My grandfather told her that he had an accident and thats where they put his soiled clothes. The clothes were then promptly thrown away. One night at 4 am, my grandfather called my mother crying about how much pain his stomach was in. My mother instructed him to push the call button. My grandfather then said that he pushed it 20 minutes earlier. No one had shown up and he was in an extreme amount of pain. Ten minutes later, my grandfather called back saying someone still wasnt there to help. When my mother visited the facility the next day and asked why his call wasnt answered, she was told there was a lack of staff that night. He came out of Regency over medicated. He slurred his speech for a few days at the new facility we placed him in. When he was given the proper medication, he speech returned to normal within a day.We learned a lot from having my grandfather at this facility. This was the first rehab he was in and because of it we learned to visit every single day, keep our eyes and ears open for any suspicious activity, and to speak up to managers or nurses if we even had an ounce of thought he was being mistreated. For the last two to three years of his life, he was in and out of rehab. He never had complaints about being a difficult patient from any of the few facilities he went to. He was never a violent person or complained much (unless it was about my grandmas cooking.) We never returned him to Regency. My hopes writing this review is that Regency doesnt treat patients like this anymore. Three years is a long time for any place of employment to keep the same staff of nurses around and I understand its not an easy job to do. But I do not think that my grandfather was treated with dignity or respect while being at Regency by the staff that was responsible for him.
My mother Malinda Pittmon was a patient here at Regency at Grand Blanc before she went home to be with the Lord. Thank you for the outstanding service that your staff rendered to my mom. I was very pleased with the staff and the services. Special thank you to Timeka Roland. I will definitely recommend Regency at Grand Blanc to Family and friends. JoAnn Brown
This place totally saved my life! After 3 botched knee replacements I went to the Regency for rehab. I was discouraged and upset, after some intense rehab with the great therapy department I was able to walk out the door on my own!! The building is beautiful, loved the Birstro. And the staff was friendly and inviting. Would recommend to anyone!!!
URGENT PLEASE READ!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVE ONE TO REGENCY REHAB/NURSING HOME OF GRAND BLANC! MY MOTHER WAS AT REGENCY REHAB/NURSING HOME FOR A PERIOD OF 11 DAYS. SHE CONTRACTED COVID-19, PNEUMONIA, AND BED SORES. MY MOTHER WENT INTO THE FACILITY COVID-19 AND PNEUMONIA FREE. HER COVID-19 TEST WERE NEGATIVE UNTIL DAY 11, THEREFORE SHE HAD TO CONTRACT IT FROM THE STAFF AT REGENCY. REGENCY STATES THAT THEY QUARANTINE THE PATIENTS UPON ARRIVAL FOR 14 DAYS. SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THERE FOR REHABILITATION AND THEY DIDNT PERFORM REHAB ON HER AT ALL. I CALLED AND SPOKE WITH MY MOTHER AND SHE TOLD ME THAT SHE WAS COLD. I CALLED THE NURSING STATION AND ASKED THEM TO TAKE HER A BLANKET. I CALLED BACK 2 HRS AND 16 MINUTES LATER AND SPOKE WITH MY MOTHER AND THE PERSON WAS JUST WALKING IN HER ROOM WITH THE BLANKET. A FAMILY FRIEND WENT TO VISIT HER AND TALKED TO HER THROUGH THE WINDOW AND MY MOM SAID THAT SHE NEEDED SOMEONE TO TAKE HER TO THE RESTROOM. IT TOOK 45 MINUTES FOR SOMEONE TO COME. I RECEIVED AND EMAIL FROM REGENCY REHAB/NURSING HOME STATING THAT THEY HAVE HAD 13 NEW COVID-19 CASES OVER A 3 DAY PERIOD. I HAVE MADE EVERY ATTEMPT TO CONTACT THE CDC OF MICHIGAN AND GENESSEE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND NO ONE HAS CALLED US BACK. REGENCY REHAB/NURSING HOME OF GRAND BLANC NEEDS TO BE CLOSED DOWN BEFORE LOVE ONES CATCH COVID-19 AND DIE!!!!

2022-03-18My grandmother had the best care here! Each and every individual from the Receptionist, Social Worker, Physical Therapist, Nurses, Nurses Aides, and Housekeeping, were phenomenal! The care they showed my grandmother was above and beyond our expectations. I thank them for their hardwork and patience with my stubborn and difficult grandmother. The building was clean and well taken care of!Also, cannot forget the chefs and the food. As my grandmother being a chef herself, she LOVED the food here- especially the meatballs! On behalf of my family, A big thank you Regency staff for everything!

2021-04-07Absolutely best place for mom.Regency at Grand BlancMy mom is smiling, happy, loved and cared for with compassion and patience. Covid has caused some tough decisions for everyone. Throughout This pandemic of window visits and a couple of in person social distanced masked (after survey and covid test) we could see one another. Thank you Regency staff. My mom says that every person, department from daily care to activities to the food served has been great. So, blessed she has your care and for keeping mom alive with all the precautions. As hard as it all is.. mom says, and I’m thankful and glad they did it. Very pleased and would highly recommend this Regency facility.

2019-03-18My grandfather was at this facility twice, after being in the hospital. Both times he received good care and his aides were amazing, especially Julius. My grandfather has Dementia and can be hard to work with, but they took their time with him and treated him with respect. The food was good and the facility was clean. The staff all seemed very polite and willing to help with our needs. I would definitely recommend Regency at Grand Blanc for you loved ones.

2020-06-30I currently reside here at regency. This facility was recommended by a nurse from Mclaren to my wife and I. We are very happy that she did. The staff is very helpful in regards to my stay here. It has been very cordial. For the most part the food is alright. I did have therapy here, very beneficial and the therapy staff were friendly. Id like to give a shout out to Mimi and Lou in the kitchen and the lady we call baby doll. Katie and Rebecca are very humorous and good to me but most of all the social worker Tracy has been excellent throughout my stay. She worked very hard at getting everything figured out for me and I want to thank her. Nurse Dee and Annette were very special nurses

2020-07-30Stop! Don’t take your loved one here. My mom was in for rehab after tripping over a rug and breaking a rib. While there they ignored her and she fell and hit her head while trying to get to the bathroom, we think, there were different stories, and they failed to evaluate her. She fell again and they put her in a chair by the nurses station and still failed to take evaluations, where she moaned for three hours about her head. It was the occupational therapist that recognized she wasn’t the same from the 3 prior days and sent her to the hospital. She sustained two head injuries that caused brain bleeds and severe brain damage, because she arrived too late to do anything! They received a violation from the state. Wow. My mom died 4 long suffering months later, and never recognized us again. My first instinct when rehab was suggested was, I should just take her home but everyone said, oh this place is great! We would have been better off hiring someone to help her out then doing what we did. But we cannot change the horrible thing that happened, we can only advise you against this facility. She was 88 and would hop on a plane and visit family, very independent and energetic and all in her right mind. Although she looked fragile, she was a powerhouse. That’s kind of why we thought she’d be fine. So don’t do it! Stop! Find a person to hire, don’t leave them over night! And for goodness sakes, if you must, make sure that bed is all the way DOWN! They didn’t put it down!

2019-05-20My mother received excellent care at Regency, the therapy team is outstanding! Not only is she back home her quality of life is back to normal. She was unsure about going to rehab after her stroke, but she found it to be a great decision after settling in, being able to enjoy all the amenities, getting to know her therapist and putting her trust in her caregivers. Also, I found the Social workers to be very knowledgeable which helped us with Mom’s transition back home, they were able to set her homecare, appointments and out patient therapy when she went home. A huge thank you to Regency for all your help during such a stressful time in my life!

2018-06-07My aunt recently had a stay at regency. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone and their family! Copley square nursing staff welcomed me with open arms. The therapy there was top of the line. Especially from the gental giant Tim. He got my aunt back to walking and doing normal every day activities. The food was always great and ready when you walk into the dining room. 5 star rating any day of this place! It’s a hidden gem!

2018-01-041st I would like to share all the positives of this facility. The building, rooms and environment were very impressive. The food was good and they would always adapt the menu to please my father. The entertainment most of the time was outstanding. (4.5 stars)-2nd for the staff and care- The professional & trained staff were very good & caring. The real inconsistency came from the support staff. There were times when my dad would have to wait for help to the bathroom for up to 3 hours. They were suppose to do my dads laundry but I found my dads dirty clothes just thrown in the corner for almost a week. Finally I asked someone on staff & they said truthfully you should probably just do it yourself because there have been complaints about missing clothes.60% of the support staff worked with a chip on their shoulder the other 40% were absolutely wonderful. (3.5 stars)OVERALL I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY
