I have lived here since September 2020 and I thought I could love this place and call it home but no. The office oriole don’t pick up the phones. It took them almost two months before I could get a new washer and dryer cause they provided me with one that didn’t work. They turn off the boiler so we couldn’t get any heat on chilly cold September nights. (Especially the day I moved in which was in the 50s) two months ago Ice dams on the roof was melting and causing the water to drain into my apartment. I’m still waiting in them to try and fix the issue? Paying 1200/month for an eye sore in the living room is not part of the leasing agreement. Now they have new owners and nothings changed. I can’t wait to move out. Oh and if you’re ever late on rent they are sure to be quick about taking you to court.
Id prefer a management that cared for its residents safety and wasnt overpriced considering Im still waiting on repairs Ive brought to attention multiple times.Update: I’m ecstatic to finally be done with this place. It’s been a nightmare. Lived here for 18 months. During which time I’ve had a maintenance staff member rummage through my bathroom stuff and leave a door unlocked after he left; my apartment was not cleaned prior to moving in despite a “cleaning fee” Bridget claimed but then later another staff member denied they charged (obviously they can‘t even keep details straight), there were nails and m&ms throughout and the bathrooms were hairy (to put nicely); my 5 year old daughter sprained her ankle due to construction, security lighting they refused to replace for 9 months (the parking lot and side of our building were in complete darkness), and lack of suitable entry into our own building (you had to walk around to the back of building where there was no lighting); squirrels that were never taken care of despite multiple notifications for 8 months and I’ve had to argue with them about; a stove that took them 9 months to repair; a bug problem they failed to spray for despite lease terms and a pest control fee you’re charged monthly; and more. It’s not worth the $1400 i dished out monthly to live here, especially when COVID hit. In fact, the past 3 months I have stayed here less than 5 nights. I paid for hotels because squirrels were so bad some nights, I slept over at family and friends instead, and then I moved out early (while still paying rent). It literally became just a storage facility. Do not live here unless you want a migraine and don’t mind living with the stress it’s sure to cause.
We’ve lived at Woodlake for almost 2 years and I can’t wait to move out when my lease is up. The first unit we lived in was on the first floor and whenever it rained it flooded in our bedroom and closet and 2nd bedroom. After a huge storm one night nearly half our room was flooded. Come to find out from a lady in the office that the other side of that building had the same issue. So apparently they only fixed one half of the building and not the other knowing it would probably have the same outcome. We were not offered at least a small discount on the following months rent or anything at all considering how much of an inconvenience it was for something they could’ve prevented when it happened to the other side. The unit we are now living in the carpets smelled like smoke when we first got here. And just last week my boyfriend noticed how much black mold was in our AC unit in our bedroom. We run our AC most of the time so I can’t imagine how long we were breathing it in. I’m 8 months pregnant and we sleep with our 2 year old. It was by far the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen. When maintenance came to replace it they were so unprofessional. Moved my bed to replace it and didn’t move anything back when they were done and left a mess before they left all over my carpet. The least they could do was clean up when their job is finished. The paint they use on their walls is flat so there’s absolutely no way to clean it without making it look worse. My sister in law also lives here. She has complained all winter that the lights to her building parking lot are always out and you can’t see anything when you’re walking down the stairs or in the parking lot. Maintenance has still yet to fix it, and because they kept blowing it off she slipped on ice on her steps, busted her lower back, and has a hematoma that she either has to have drained or surgically removed. Go anywhere but here. Please.
I have lived here for over a year and a half now and the place is great! The staff is friendly and responsive, the location is great with the short drive to downtown and close location to the mall and about any store you could want. Any maintenance request we have had has been resolved within a day or two. The new offices are fantastic and convenient. There is a gym right in the neighborhood too. You cant go wrong! I get the impression that the staff is working hard to improve these apartments even more. The large amount I have seen change for the better in the amount of time I have lived here is staggering!
Every time I call the main office they do not answer, a simple question consists of calling multiple times in the same day to hopefully get an answer. This has been going on for years. Also, dont expect much from maintenance. I had giant brown spots all over the ceiling from water damage (leaking roof) and it took over a year and a half to get fixed. I have lived here three years and they have still not fixed a window completely fogged (Pictured) with condensation even after multiple requests to have it fixed. The window was like this when I moved in (noted on checklist that the renter fills out when moving in and still never fixed) so obviously inspecting the units before renting them out is not a priority either.Extremely happy that my lease is up and I no longer have to deal with Woodlake.
My husband and I were pre-approved online for these apartments 2 weeks before we had to move to the area from out of state. We looked at and applied for other studio apartments, but were living out of a hotel while we tried to find an apartment. Woodlake ended up being a saving grace by calling us and asking if we had still planned to move in the following day. I was able to view the apartment, sign the lease and receive keys all in the same day and the woman we worked with (cant remember her name) was very accomodating. My husband was not with me, but they let him sign the lease online. When we moved in, the apartment was in great condition and bigger than other studio apartments we had looked at. Weve been here 6 months with no complaints. It seems that others have had issues with maintenance and office management, but we havent experienced any issues which needed to be addressed in those areas, so I cant comment on those things. No complaints about our neighbors, theres always people out and about walking leashed pets and we love the outdoor feel of the complex.
We have yet to move in, but so far my experience has been great. Shawn is wonderful and very patient. This is my first time moving into my own place so I have probably been an extremely annoying tenant as far as providing documents and needing assistance. However, Shawn was very understanding and friendly even with how much she had to track me down for documents I was missing. I highly recommend her to any future residents.
*edited stars*Due to biased neighbors who complain about you when youve done nothing wrong. Woodlake is unforgiving if a neighbor doesnt like you. No matter the case.Weve lived here for a little over 2 years and although there are some times that have been inconvenient (like almost ALL apartments), its a great location, in secluded area by all amenities youll ever need. The floor plans are also great, where we get complimented on the size of our apartment for not an extremely expensive price (we have an older not updated model). One of the cheapest, but nicest apartments to have in this area.Since it is in the woods, youll have to expect some bugs, but nothing that a person couldnt handle once or twice a week cleaning up. If you were living in an older family home, youd expect the same.During construction, one of our windows broke because of negligence of the workers. Although I was completely outraged, the emergency maintenance showed up in a half hour and tapped the window up and replaced it within a day. (No problem with maintenance so far).My only advice to the complex would be to invest in bigger projects. We just had our foundation redone around the apartment and being on the bottom floor, we have felt a dramatic improvement. All windows and sliding glass doors should be updated along with this project (due to the bug and leaking complaints I see). I was disappointed that they would choose to paint all of the buildings first and add a dog park that is extremely tiny. Not to mention the ostantatious new office in the front too. Think about the tenants first!Paying for parking is ridiculous because you dont even enforce it. And listening to tenants complaints and investing money the right way may go a long way in improving your Google star rating.
Been living here a little over a month and so far, the most positive thing is the layout. We have a 3 bedroom “treehouse” style apartment and the space is wonderful. We’re close to the Kent Trails which is a huge bonus and the location of the complex as a whole is perfect. This is where the positives end, however. Moving here was such a challenge, we relocated to the area from a couple hours away. No one would ever answer our calls or return them. We had to drive all the way here several weekends before we moved just to ask simple questions. We had to sign the lease before we were allowed to even view the apartment and I had to call CF Lane in their HQ in Atlanta just to have them contact them to return my phone call after three weeks of never having a phone call returned, which was ridiculous. We finally signed our lease, were able to drive down a view the apartment a week before our move in date, the apartment was dirty, dead bugs, tile floors were dirty, spider webs everywhere, everything covered in dust from repainting, our fridge was disgusting, etc. We discussed our concerns with the staff and they assured us it would be clean upon our move in. Our move in date came, we got our keys, and opened the door to find the same mess, same dust, same dead bugs from a week ago. I had to clean the apartment myself, which was a huge disappointment, right down to shampooing my own carpets (we took pictures of how dirty the water was, it was disgusting!) The first couple days living here, we discovered when it rains, one of our windows above our loft leaks. We put in a service request in March…it still leaks when it rains, no one has come to fix it, and we now have a nice brown stain from the leaks and the bubbled paint from the water damage, which I hope they don’t try to charge me for when we move out. Window frames don’t fit the windows because “they’re old and nothing can be done about it”- per maintenance. So whenever we open our windows in nice weather, we get a TON of bees in our apartment. Not to mention all of the other creepy crawlies that get in. This leads to us having to use our air conditioning (I should add the energy costs, gas and electric, is double here for some reason what we paid in the three story townhome we owned before moving here) which is a huge drag. The property is advertised as smoke free, but it clearly is not, judging by the smell of cigarettes and weed we smell in our apartment on an almost daily basis. They sent notices to residents, but it’s clearly a rule they can’t enforce, so if you’re moving here because you have health issues and think you won’t be subjected to smoke, think again! We were told before moving in our washer and dryer would be upgraded (it’s currently the small stacked space saving model) but after moving in, we were told that wasn’t happening. It’s the smallest washer and dryer we’ve ever seen (3 pairs of jeans is a full load in the washer…seriously…) and the quality is so poor, we have to dry every tiny load twice which is a huge pain. We pay $20 a month for parking, but there aren’t nearly enough spaces so even though you pay to park, you certainly aren’t paying to actually park near your building, we often have to park elsewhere, which is a pain if you’re carrying groceries or kids, which we often are. Overall, renewing our lease here probably won’t happen unless some things change (breaking the lease is thousands of dollars, per our lease, fyi!). Hoping things improve, so far, not so good.
So far this place is beautiful, the scenery is beautiful. I worked with Siana who is a leasing agent. She was nothing short of amazing. Attentive and treated me as a human being, meaning she made sure she fully took the steps to learn me as a person to make my situation perfect. Even though its a short period of time, I have lived in a number of apartments and can already tell its going to be a great experience here, way better than my last experience.
Very decent place.. good up keep and the price was right. Never got a chance to live there so my complaint is with the non refund of my application fee. I called and got the wrong information from one of there agent.. Based on that information I went ahead and filled out the application on line. Then when I got into the office and talked with Shawn.. the agent I was working with, she cleared up the wrong info for me but could not refund my fee. The reason Shawn gave for the non refund of my fee was because they use a 3rd party. But I’ve noticed that the name on my bank statement is Woodlake.
At the beginning I loved the look to is place. In the woods and secluded. I am a person who keeps to myself and works. Once I tried moving in, Darlene was never there so I had to talk to multiple people about trying to get everything straightened out. Darlene did not give me the one thing I asked for, a walk out. I didnt care if it was a new or old apartment but she somehow didnt understand what I said. I was very clear about what I would have liked. Then come move in day, once again Darlene was not there. So I had to talk to another employee who was nice but no one explained the outrageous utility bills added on. I cant believe that the buildings bills are divided! Heck now that is not fair by any means. I am a one bedroom apartment in the basement. I should not be paying the same utility bills as the three bedroom two story apartment above me.I will never EVER live here again! After six months of living here they are now trying to kick me out because a few residents complained about my dog being aggressive. First off she doesnt bark, she doesnt bite and she is always with me. Never has she ever hurt anyone or any other dog. She is a mixed spaniel/lab breed and if people are intimidated with at then they can get with the times and deal with it.This place is not prompt about their process of moving people in but they are sure quick to evict them. I pay too much for this place for this amount of harassment.I wish that I could give them zero stars. They havent even earned one.Oh and I am prepared for a copy and paste type of response from the apartment place seeing as everyone on here has gotten a very generic reply.
This entire apartment complex is annoying. Downstairs neighbors brought roaches and instead of spraying the entire complex, they “check” each apartment. My next door neighbor (who i’ve been next too my entire lease) also complained about the downstairs neighbors and nothing was done. Dog park size is a joke. Management is a joke- don’t believe them when they say they’ll call you back the following day. Increases rent every year yet we have appliances from b.c. They just paint over the poor trims and walls. I promise you, take your money and search some more. I am counting down the days until my lease is up.
The apartment I lived in was huge and a decent price. This complex is in a really good location, and secluded. The staff was always helpful. The maintenance here was probably the best thing about living here for me because I’ve lived in other places where the maintenance was absolutely useless. Every time I had a maintenance issue, they came and fixed the problem right away. For being a fairly large complex I thought it was great that the maintenance was so dependable.
Its a nice property with some great scenery, and seems to be well maintained. My only real gripe is that I feel like my wallet got raided at every opportunity. Want to park at your apartment? You have to pay for that. Really? I have to pay to park where I live? Want to use the fitness room at night after work? You have to pay for that. Pest control? You even have to pay for that too! What about an itemized statement/bill for all the fees and utilities every month? Surprise- theres even a fee for that! The add-on fees just seem a bit excessive.
The location of the apartments and the woodsy atmosphere are the only good things about this apartment complex. We have had and continue to have issues with this place. Weve tried to talk to the manager Nicole, about our issues to no avail. Either she isnt available or she brushes off our issues as if they were nothing. Ive never lived at a place where I feel more unwelcomed. It seems the management here is trying to get people to move out rather than move in. We have gotten snide remarks and evil eyes every time we enter the office. On top of that nothing is organized. They send out papers, and post them on our doors, noticing us of things that either dont happen, or happen weeks after the posted date. Calls are never returned, and when we ask them about it, they say we didnt try to contact them. This will be the last lease we sign with this apartment. I do not recommend living here. If you want a place in the woods go buy a house, itll be cheaper I promise.
Terrible management. Employees park in New Residents Only at the leasing office. Try calling and asking to speak to a property manager and see where that gets you. A/C filters never changed, and if you have a major issue good luck it’ll probably take a year of excuses from the office.
There is a woman named Darlene who works in the leasing office at Woodlake Apartment Homes that is like a cancer. She is the most condescending and rude person Ive ever done business with. She lacks empathy, compassion and a general care for what she does on a daily basis. And Im pretty certain I had one of the good experiences. Ive heard of other tenants being treated even worse. Woodlake Apartment Homes will love you when they are trying to get you to move in and spend your money with them, but once youre a tenant, they are rude, unreachable, and down right nasty. Id live anywhere other than here - ever again.
We currently live here and if I could rate this place anything less then 1 star I would. First off, this apartment complex has the most useless leasing staff who does nothing but sit in the office all day and lie to their tenants about handling situations. Our first year here our toilet broke and it took them 2 weeks after at least 8 or 9 phone calls to come fix it. My favorite part is their maintenance will hang up on you or just simply refuse to answer the phone to assist with anything after 10pm.
Lots of spiders. The appliances are old and have issues frequently. We have had our vehicles messed with at night. Pit bulls are banned, although youll see people walking them. Basically every outlet cover in the apartment has fallen off. They appear to just have been stuck on with glue. Our slider door is in piss poor condition and the lock doesnt work. They came to repair. And it still isnt right. Weve had a room light fall out of the ceiling. We get notices of getting fined for not cleaning up our dogs poop. Yet we do, its just people let there dogs crap all over and dont clean up after them. We are on the final month of our lease. I would recommend looking elsewhere to rent if you are a person seeking an apartment home.
Going on about 3 months here.Layout is great.Everything else is pretty rough. Our first month had some pretty odd service calls that took multiple visits to fix.Stream of water into extra bedroomLeaky fridge/dishwasher.Stained Carpet (Took 2 visits, had to move furniture each time)Noisy Neighbors, going on a 9 day email chain trying to get it resolved with the leasing office.Rent starts out at 749.00 basePet Rent is $40 for a cat. + a $250 on time Fee (Not Deposit, FEE)Water/Sewer is added to your bill based on whole complexes use divided out.Same for GasTrash, Pest Control, and a Service feeAND Parking for basic spots per carAll round out at $~920 per month just for rent, gas, water + assorted charges/fees.
We had a rough start at move in, but if you talk with them and share your needs, they respond. Maintenance has done a great job taking care of our needs. I am glad that I did not jump too early and write a bad review. Word of advice......be patient, talk with them, let them resolve the issues. They will take care of you!!!
*update* continuing issues with the phone system at leasing office which is still not fixed a month later although owner assured me that they are diligently working to correct the problems. *****I have not been able to park in my parking lot since Tuesday night because the complex decided to reseal my parking lot. Not sure if this is a result of poor planning or just general incompetence but when I have contacted staff I have gotten nothing but excuses. This is a process that should have taken two days at very most if done efficiently and I was told in writing that I would be able to park in my lot after 49 hours. The work on my parking lot and several surrounding mine should have been started by Wednesday but was delayed due to weather. Work on my lot didnt start until 2 on Thursday. Of course the work wasnt finished Friday and they dont work weekends so here I am Sunday with no place to park. Five days of countless displaced cars, searching for parking and worrying about my vehicle getting hit. There are vehicles parked precariously all over the road , even over curbs and on grass, Ive even documented this in photos. Pretty sure thats a fire hazard. I pay extra for parking on top of my already high monthly rent and this is beyond unacceptable. No updates from the complex on when work will be done, why it has taken so long or even an apology, but then again, according to the assistant manager this is just a small inconvenience. Absolutely ridiculous. This is just one of the many issues Ive had with the management at Woodlake and Ive barely been here 4 months. At this point I dont care if this is the fault of Woodlake or the company they hired to do the work but this was handled so incredibly badly by Woodlake management that Im astonished. I think we can all agree that this is far more than a small inconvenience and Woodlake has a responsibility to their tenants to make up for this and correct the issues with their management immediately. Hopefully this posts gets the owners attention since they clearly dont take reviews from customers seriously. The owner to one of my reviews on Google over a month ago and said that they are diligently working to repair the phone systems in the leasing office (because they mysteriously hang up when I try to call or put me on hold and then hang up.) Well, that is clearly untrue because a month later the same things are still happening and Im getting nothing but excuses from staff yet again. I also have that in writing. A word of advice: Fire the management company you use, all your tenants hate it here and your reviews are almost all negative. I will be billing Woodlake for the days that I was unable to use my parking spot and I wont hesitate to post my proof on social media if my concerns are challenged or minimized again. I expect PROMPT ACTION.
Positives: Large apartment with a ton of space (3 bed 2 bath treehouse)$1300 mo, Treehouse layout is awesome with walk-in closets and floor to vaulted ceiling windows. Quiet for the most part, gym included in membership if you are one that would use it. if not, which Im guessing 90% dont, you pay for it anyway. Maintenance is pretty good about fixing things when they are broken. The scenery of the woods is nice.Negatives: I have never felt comfortable in the leasing office. The only person that has been friendly has been the maintenance lady that answers the phone. The amount of spiders IN my apartment is ridiculous. I get that we are in the woods, but I kill them daily. There are constantly new webs no matter how often I dust. They are outdated and need to be gutted. If I could show you the 1/2 inch thick layers of paint and years of pubic hairs they did not clean but painted over in our bathroom you WOULD be disgusted. The walls have cracked and been filled so many times that the cracks turned into long mountain ranges sticking out of the walls. The windows are as old as the apartments and do not fit seamlessly, so if you try to open your windows instead of using the central air, you will have more bugs and spiders than you can even imagine. Been there tried that, because our electric bill was $300 for one month using the air due to poor insulation, windows, and cracks everywhere.Dont be fooled by the photos of the updated apartments, there are hardly any, and you probably wont get one unless you want to pay $1000 for a 2 bedroom. The kitchens are 40 years old. I had to clean plenty upon move in as there was still food UNDER the appliances. I only found this because something fell behind and I had to move one to get it. The old linoleum flooring has so many dents and holes in it that it looks more like GOVERNMENT HOUSING THAN A $1300+ APARTMENT. The trim is in HORRIBLE shape. The paint is peeling everywhere off the trim because there is 80 layers of paint on it. THIS IS THROUGHOUT THE APARTMENT. The ceiling leaks when it rains. The exterior windows are covered in bird poop or paint splatter and there is no way to clean them yourself. The double pane windows seals are broken so its not a clear view outside due to the condensation in the windows. The front door has a gap and air flows through along with bugs.I feel bad leaving this review because Im sure someone is saying, Well why did you move in then? Because the place we had planned on moving into fell through. The only thing I looked at was the size of the apartment. Some of these things wouldnt be so bad if utilities were included, but WE PAY for the HEAT AND CENTRAL AIR to just flow right out. THEY TAKE AN AVERAGE OF THE BUILDING UTILITIES AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD SIZE AND SQUARE FOOTAGE OF YOUR APT AND BILL YOU EVERY MONTH. IT ABSOLUTELY INFURIATES ME, BUT HEY, I SIGNED THE LEASE LIKE AN IDIOT. OH, AND YOU GET TO PAY TO PARK IN YOUR PARKING LOT EVERY MONTH!They spent a CRAP TON of money on a leasing office for leasing people that make peanuts. WHY? Why do the ornery leasing people get a new space to spend their days in when these apartments that people LIVE in are in such bad shape? It makes no sense to me.The wood exterior is well, wood. It looks like crap even AFTER being painted. The doors to the apartments are flat metal and dented up. There is nothing welcoming about walking up to your apartment.I am not disgruntled, but stating the facts. I have recommended these specific treehouse apartments (because of the size and layout) to people I know while making sure they are aware of all the negatives prior to making a decision.Dear OWNERS (NOT MANAGEMENT) THE NEW BUILDING REALLY PISSED ME OFF. Every time I cook in this ugly, dirt and grime covered with paint little kitchen I get irritated wishing you would have spent the money elsewhere. Aaaaaand done.
Living here was okay at first when it was ramblewood south. Once the new owners came everything changed and not for the better. They even gave away my parking spot that I payed extra for every month.and dont expect anyone to leash their dogs! I had a 65lb boxer that was always on her leash but unleashed dogs would run up to her and make her pull me while being pregnant and she almost bit one running towards me. Darlene is the nicest person when you want to sign your lease and move in but once you move out shes very rude! She even made smarta** comments toward me and my husband when we were just trying to seek information. Wont ever live here nor recommend someone to live here.
I have been having the worst experience with Woodlake apartments.. it started with simple service request to a huge annoyance. As much as we pay in rent you would think they would have the issues resolved permanently even a month Id be happy with for any of the below listed issues*no hot water (has been resolved but still took 7 request)and *no exterior lighting (have submitted several request always resolved.. 3 days MAX before the same issue happens again. Not to mention I had to submit 2 service request the time before last because they had canceled the request without a resolution or reaching out to us.So fed up with this complex.. they may have changed the name but from the reviews for Ramblewood its very obvious nothing else has changed!! Ready for our lease to be up but at the same time terrified to see what kind of charges they are going to come up for that as well.
DONT LIVE HERE!!! I have never had such a terrible experience in my life. While I was living there they changed owners two times and it has yet to improve. The difference in customer service after becoming a resident is baffling. Darlene was the one who assisted me in the whole process beginning to end. I honestly dont know how she is still employed there. She has giving me wrong information multiple times, lied to me and has been completely negligent through my entire stay. I have friends that have had worse experiences there. I wish this awful place would be shut down.
We moved here out of state and leased sight unseen. Overall we are very happy with our apartment. Plenty of space and the area is great! We love that even though it is an older building, the apartment has been kept up well. My biggest complaint is getting ahold of the office. My emails are never answered the same day and I’ve tried calling the office multiple times but no one answers. Other than a lack of communication, it’s been a decent experience.
Office is terrible, my brother had the apartment professionally cleaned, took pictures and still was robbed of his security deposit. When I asked why they transferred us around until they eventually hung up and stopped answering. Live ANYWHERE else if youre cosindering this place. Youve been warned.
An absolute nightmare. I would NEVER recommend anyone to live here. The office employees have no respect for their customers, the lady we dealt with had obviously no customer service experience. She was so rude the whole time. To move out you better expect to pay atleast 1,000 to 2,000. if you werent broke living there you will be once you move out.
I’ve lived here for almost 3 years now almost every time there is an issue with something in the apartment and you call maintenance they don’t wanna come fix it they refuse to change the air conditioning air filters so when you turn on the air conditioning it just stinks up the apartment there has been mold in the air conditioner and I was told why don’t you just clean it yourself like I’m trained to know how to take apart my air conditioner. People throw trash in the bushes by the entrance to your doors to apartments and blast music in the parking lot at 10pm or Later save your money and get a lease somewhere else I can not wait to move out of this hell hole
I lived at this apartment complex almost five years, before it was Woodlake, it used to be called Ramblewood South. I have a lot of knowledge and experience, and I will tell you that this is a nice and chill spot to live at. I didnt ever have any real problems when it came to maintenance issues, because if something didnt work they were there to fix it fast. My neighbors were pretty cool for the most part, and they are generally pretty laid back. I didnt have to worry about crime or drugs a whole lot, but there was this one time my truck was broken into, didnt take much though. The leasing office staff was very nice, and great to work with. They did an excellent job providing me with time to move out, because I bought a house, and didnt charge me a fortune to leave. I would recommend this apartment to someone starting out. The only downside would be, that you pay for all of the utilities, and the gas bill is split between the tenants of the building you are in. You pay for parking, gas, electric, pest control, internet, water/sewer, renters insurance, key fob for the gym, pet rent...so it adds up at the end of the month. My base rent increased year over year too. You need to make at least $15 an hour to be able to afford just a one-bedroom here. Overall it was not a bad place to live, and they have a yard crew that does all the yard work, and plow in the winters. They are geared more toward young professionals, but kids are welcome too. I would recommend living here.
Moving in, we were told we couldn’t have our original move in date because someone else’s unit wasn’t finished and they gave them ours. We couldn’t move in until 4pm, days after we were meant to originally move in. During our experience renting here, we had a service dog and cat. We put in maintenance requests for our washer and dryer not working countless times. Electrical issues. Maintenance men would come in and say they didn’t know how to fix it because, “Steve doesn’t teach us anything” or they would say they’re not allowed to replace the washer and dryer because it is new. They used foul language constantly. We had a massive leak in our apartment, and they said they were not qualified to fix it, so they waited almost a whole week before sending professionals! It literally broke through our ceiling in the closet. We had numerous issues with our washer and dryer during COVID, including leaking- A LOT- and they said there was nothing they could do because of COVID safety precautions. Now we’ve moved out and they tried to nail us with an over $2,000 fee for “not writing a notice of move out,” which I did. They removed the fee, BUT tried to hit us with a $1,000 carpet and pad replacement, as well as sealing of the floor because of PET URINE damage when the carpet pads are literally spotless! There were stains under the carpet WHERE THE LEAKS WERE THEY NEVER TOOK CARE OF. Seriously NEVER live here. They’ll try to tell you your service animal urinated all over the carpet. We had a professional look at the photos (we weren’t allowed a walkthrough of their findings) and he verified it was water damaged due to the carpet pads cleanliness. Steve Lake, the maintenance supervisor, claimed he “wasn’t worried about the stains that no one could see.” He “would have left them there.” It was “the odor that is concerning.” You mean the odor of smoke and weed of our neighbors who have lived in their unit for 8 years and told us they smoke inside their apartment and we literally told maintenance every time they came to look at our washer and dryer of the smell and they said there was nothing they could do? Watch out for seams in your living areas- professional carpenter says if they know what they’re doing, they’d never have seams in the middle of the room. It’s just patchwork. Which leads him to believe they’re not only lying, but absolutely stealing our money. We are fighting this further, and we urge everyone else who has had these issues to as well. They claim they’ve “never lost a court case” and that all of their reviews are “not what actually happened.” Believe me- they actually have happened. They don’t care. They just want your money.
Moved here this past summer. Live in the back area so it is nice and quiet. I like the views and the space. I also like how convenient the location is to grocery stores, places to eat and the distance to hop on the highway. Being in a lower apartment, it is darker and the headlights of cars turning on in the morning do shine in to the apartment. The kitchen can get tight and there have been issues with online payments. Maintenance does take a while with fixing things and appliances are a bit out dated. Other than that the price for space is good.
I was hesitant to even look at these apartments after reading the reviews online. I’m new to the area and didn’t want to settle for an apartment that was going to be terrible.. but let me tell you, this has been one of the best experiences I’ve had renting an apartment.Brigitte in the office was extremely helpful and understanding. I work night shift so the only way to communicate was through email since I was sleeping during office hours. Brigitte was prompt to respond, gave very clear instructions, and went out of her way to make sure that I had everything I needed complete. She went over how much rent would be and how much average utilities will be. I recently put my first maintenance request in and it was completed within 24 hours. The space in the apartment is more than adequate, and the appliances are updated. Brigitte’s friendly attitude, and patience with me during the leasing process was incredible. I would recommend these apartments to anyone.
Lived here 2 years. Overall a nice convenient place to live for a reasonable price. The main issue I have is with the washer/dryer situation. Its already a bit inconvenient to not have a washer/dryer in the apartment, but the fact that the dryers rarely work is extremely inconvenient. We put in work orders for dryers every now and then but it seems they stop working again 2 weeks later. Have to dry 2-3 times just for a small load which costs $1.25 each which adds up over time. Other than that its a good apartment complex to live in.
I recently moved into my new one bedroom apartment here in beautiful Woodlake! I am so so so happy! Amazing property, super beautiful views, super friendly neighbors, and the most helpful considerate employees! Joshua Kim is amazing! Helped me figure everything out! Always willing to go the extra mile! Thanks for making the next step an easy one!
I enjoyed living here nothing too bad to complain about until I moved out. They took forever to send me the final bill. When I received it, I promptly mailed them a check that they cashed. Then a month later they sent a debt collector after me saying that I did not pay. Told the debt collector I paid and showed the evidence of the payment. They seemed satisfied so we will see how it goes from here.Update from 1 star: They resolved same day.
This place is trash and overpriced. They always blame all their mistakes on glitches in the system. Also the maintenance isnt super responsive either. I have to call multiple times and ask the status on my stuff being seen because no one even bothers to follow up. Wouldnt recommend.
I had one issue that got taken care but after I had to complain multiple times but sounds like if you have a maintenance issue you go directly to maintenance because if you go to the office it doesn’t get submitted properly, but other then that the place is nice and beautiful, larger rooms then all other apartments I’ve lived.

2022-03-29Terrible outdated apartments. My car got broken into 4 times and they won’t do anything about it. Our neighbors cars are getting broken into also.We bought a house and to break our lease and they want us to pay 4 times our rent! This place will do anything to scam a dime out of you.My apartment has had many issues with it. It’s always cold and we’ve asked maintenance to fix it 3 times. Our fire place doesn’t work when we want it to. Our second bedroom is constantly so cold that we can’t use it.Terrible terrible place. Overpriced and outdated and your stuff will get stolen.

2021-12-29Lived their for little over 2 years. Service is pretty bad. Had several maintenance issues that took months at a time to resolve with not even an offer of money off rent. Had water leaking for weeks from our ceiling before being addressed. Maintenance did work to outside of the apartments and left tons of junk and saw dust all over our balcony. Had outlets that never even got fixed. You can’t ever get ahold of anyone. Seems that office hours barley exist. To top everything upon moving out they took pictures of the back of the carpet that they were already tearing up, you wouldn’t even see it if not tore out, sent us pictures saying there was stains. Kept the deposit and also charged an additional $600. Considering it wasn’t new carpet on move in who knows how long they were there. Rent at your own risk! Place will scam you as well as have 0 service. Not recommended.

2022-03-24DO NOT MOVE HERE. If you ever have to contact then they willl NEVER answer the phone. They don’t come fix anything in a reasonable amount of time. They will shut water off for repairs for a day without any notice. Rent is ridiculous for what you get. If i could give them less than a 1 i would. Not worth it for what you pay.

2021-06-12I’ve been here for about a year now. My apartment is really big for a one bedroom. I wish laundry could be in the apartment, but having it in the building is nice enough. The community is really clean, and there’s lots of wildlife around. The pool is great in this summer heat. Maintenance usually swings by within a few days of putting in a work order, and they’re always really nice. Sometimes it can be hard to get in contact with the office by phone, but if you email them there good about getting back quickly. People are really negative but this really isn’t a bad place.

2021-07-19If there was an option to do a lower rate I 100% would. Even giving 1 star is a stretch for me and my roommates.I am thoroughly disappointed In the management and negligence from their management team. The staff does nothing to resolve issues or repairs.Since I’ve moved in back in 2020 I was so excited to move in! The whole process was absolutely impossible with them cancelling my application and giving our unit to someone else. Then the only thing they could do is give us an apartment that is $100 more than what we were told. Red flag #1After moving in the very first night it rained our master bedroom window would downpour inside meaning the window is not and was not sealed properly. Since the issue and of us living there for 13 months there has not been any resolution. We have called, emailed, gotten hung up on, emails ignored and lost, and have physically went into the office. There had been no resolution. Finally after months and months of trying to get something done to fix this issue we found black mold growing right where the water would rain on in. We brought this to their attention and sure enough our issues were not a priority. We have been patient because it had been a hectic and stressful year for everyone but coming from me who was so excited and optimistic about this new home I could not make it my home. I have had my personal property damaged and have seen a lot of health issues that could very easily be caused from the mold and negligence.I am a nice person and have always done my best to be respectful. But in a situation where I’m being charged for every instance and for things that just don’t add up I can’t allow people to take advantage of me or my money. I am young but I know right from wrong. This issue could have and should have been resolved the first month we moved in. Renew woodlake and their management team will do absolutely nothing to make up for their negligence and won’t even admit fault.I showed images of the mold and were told it was not. How would they know if they don’t step foot in our apartment to check it out? Also after we moved out they charged us $700 because they need to remove the carpet from “animal damage” I had one cat. Coincidentally my one cat produced enough damage right in the same room we had water damage. Make that make sense Woodlake. Please do. I’m very curious especially since before any new tenants move in they repaint and take carpet out anyways so why are we being charged for something you’re already going to do. You’ve already charged us up the butt from simply trying to live in conditions that are not safe.I recommend anyone living at Woodlake or thinking about it to look elsewhere. They will lie through their teeth and blame you for any and everything. I recommend filing complaints to higher businesses that can do something because their negligence it not worth the $1400 a months we have been paying for an apartment worth maybe $1000Contact the better business bureaus contact the health department. Contact anyone who can do something about their mid treatment towards their tenants. They also tried to charge us $1200 for terminating our lease without a 60 day notice. They received a written notice they just lost the email and tried to accuse us of only giving them a 3 week notice. I recommend leaving while you can. This place is not worth the money or your time. It’ll all be wasted. Also document everything. Damages etc. so they cannot screw you over. Woodlake. Do better we are human beings that deserve a safe place to call home. This place is far from that and you have a lot of work to do. Maybe start by getting new staff that actually care about the well being of others.

2021-08-28We lived at Woodlake for 3 years. Overall experience was decent. Cross your fingers you don’t need maintenance or to reach the main office. 90% of calls are not answered or returned. Maintenance if you’re lucky will call you back but it’s 50/50. Our hot water tank went out multiple times within a two month period. Instead of fixing the long-standing issue they patch it up and write it off as nothing. When you do have maintenance it takes days- all while having no return call to know when the issue might be resolved. Ownership changed and now it’s impossible to reach anyone on-site. You get directed to offsite team who relays message to on-site team and then nothing is ever done. Our neighbors had issue with mice and we had issue with bugs to no avail. Rent should be cheaper for quality of apartments and the state of the grounds. People park old cars on property that have been totaled/are missing wheels/have flat tires and are left there for months on end. Huge potholes that never get fixed. The list goes on. Like I said- our experience was okay but cross your fingers you don’t need help from management.

2021-07-30Absolute worst apartment complex ever. Mainly due to management and the fact this place is a money grab rather than providing quality service. When we first moved in they said the rent was going to be $800 and then they slowly jacked it up to $1200 not even a year being there (not including utilities). They also fined us $1200 for not putting in a 2 month notice when our lease was expiring, probably their way to trap people in cause no one wants to stay. There’s always gnats that fly around the apartment that you can’t do anything to get rid of (multiple friends had this not just us). The apartments were probably also built on the cheapest budget possible as we were always running into having repairs needed (leaky pipes from above that broke our light fixture and drywall twice, sink broke on us, wall was loose in the kitchen). You also will not get your security deposit back because all my friends that left their apartment how they found it didn’t get theirs back either. Moral of the story, live somewhere else. (Also no central air, ac unit hardly works and has mold in it).

2021-07-22So let me tell you about my experience here at Renew Woodlake 😃.I moved in August of 2020. First of all, my apartment was lovely, it was awesome! Everything was new. It was the best apartment I have ever had! The neighbors were friendly and everyone pretty much just stayed to their selves. The staff was amazing, they were understanding, they were caring. From day one, they have been responsive to all my emails and voicemails even throughout the pandemic. I have had some past financial difficulties and they understood and worked with me for that time. They really made me feel comfortable and showed me that they care. If I wasn’t relocating I would be resigning my lease. Thank you for the experience. Also shootout to Ms. Laura for the whole screening and application part. Big big Thankyou and appreciation to Ms. Elyse Pauffhausen. Thankyou Thankyou.

2021-05-13This is absolutely the WORST apartment management to deal with! Never Never NEVER trust what they tell you, if you can ever reach someone to actually talk to. Going into the office and discussing move-out and making sure all rents etc are covered does nothing. Once youve moved out, they say you owe them and they immediately turn it over to a third party collection agency. There is NO talking to them, no discussing it, even though it was all discussed prior to moving out. Then the collections payment charges $70 for processing. Encouraging everyone with problems to contact the BBB!
