Comment: I have been to this fine location a few times, and the customer service has always been great. During the first time here, I had the pleasure to visit with a friend . They were extremely patient and assisted us for roughly 2 hours until we were satisfied with the most suitable wetsuit, shoes, and gloves. Nico is a professional and provided additional information, including the volume for our masks and how they should properly fit. Each time has been a pleasure, and they never fail to provide exceptional service! Will definitely continue to come back.

Comment: Lessons with Nico are the way to go! I came to Riverside Scuba after finding them online and while I was a bit hesitant, I can honestly say it has been the best decision. All of the staff are so friendly, knowledgeable and makes you feel right at home. Nico was so patient and encouraging. I highly recommend for anyone considering taking classes, come to Nico - He is all about proper and safe training but also making sure we have fun and fall in love for it.

Comment: Just finished the Rescue SCUBA diver course with Brandon off of the Sundiver dive boat. Brandon was very patient and took extra time to answer all of my questions. I had a lot of them. He demonstrated the skills I would need to perform and added in tips for making the skills most successful. Thanks again to Riverside SCUBA for the excellent training.I just finished the BLS, CPR, First Aid at Riverside Scuba with Nico as the instructor and Brandon as the assistant. What a training program. They really took the time to not only make sure I was familiar with the knowledge base of the course but also comfortable applying the training in a real world environment. Everything was very well explained and they were patient with all of my questions. I feel confident in the training I received and that I will be able to handle a situation that requires this type of training moving forward effectively and efficiently. Thank you Nico and Brandon for all of the help and the quality training.I am newer to snorkeling and decided it was time to upgrade from my cheapie snorkel gear. The staff were super helpful in making sure I got what would be useful for my needs and even gave me some time on certain things that would make my trips more enjoyable and less work. They also have an amazing inventory. Even gave me some tips on great local laces to go snorkel or even just practice.Wanted to give a shout out to Riverside SCUBA and Nico. Since my last post for Riverside SCUBA, I worked with Nico and Riverside SCUBA to gain an Open Water Certification. I am a little older and was concerned a bit by my age but Nico and his staff spent the extra time with me so that I felt confident in my skills and was able to complete the Open Water certification and begin enjoying the under sea world. Since completing my open water cert with him in November of 2022 I have continued with the fantastic training at Riverside SCUBA. With Riverside SCUBA I completed the Advanced Open Water course that has made me a much better diver. The level of knowledge shared is fantastic. With knowledge shard and training I received from Riverside SCUBA I have completed several specialty courses including search and recovery, Night Diver, Nitrox Diver, Deep Diver and, Wreck Diver. We also completed a dive to the HMS Yukon near Mission Bay San Diego to put the Deep Diver, Nitrox Diver and, Deep Diver all to use at the same time. What a fantastic program.I am now working with Nico and Riverside SCUBA to complete CPR, BLS, AED, and Oxy, training to go with the Rescue Diver program. Couldnt ask for a better group to learn from and dive with.

Comment: I had a really great experience getting certified at Riverside Scuba. I had Brandon as my dive instructor, and he really went out of his way to schedule dives that fit with my crazy work schedule. I was able to learn a ton in a really short time frame, but there was always a clear emphasis on safety. I completed training feeling very qualified to dive safely and have a great time doing it. I highly recommend this dive shop, and Brandon especially, to anyone looking to get a start in diving.

Comment: STUDENTS BE WARE! READ THE REVIEWS! These are not good people to do business with. Nico is a dishonest instructor. My son scheduled dive lessons with this organization and made it as far as the classroom session. When my son reported for the poolside lesson the instructor, Nico, failed to show up or call on both days (8th and 9th). He wasnt heard from again until a couple of days later. Nico tried to reschedule my son, who is a full time student, for the 13th but my son told him that he was not available due to a very tight schedule. So Nico agreed to reschedule both the pool and open water lesson for the 18th. However, when my son reached out to him on the 17th to confirm Nico cancelled again. On the 18th Nico told my son that his lesson would be complete by the 23rd. My son called called Nico several times after the 18th to follow up with him and get specific times for the lessons. Nico did not return any of his calls. We spoke with Nico today, the 23rd and he completely denied not following up with our son. He also lied, saying my son failed to attend the rescheduled class and NEVER followed up. But the text records and call logs clearly show that my son kept Nico informed of his availability and attempted to reach out multiple times. So my wife and I called the dive shop to ask for a refund. While we spoke, Nico attempted to dominate the conversation by interrupting my wife in a short but assertive tone. When I began to respond in the same manner he quickly became frustrated and eventually hung up on us asking us not to call back. I called him back anyway, at which point he said there is nothing we can do about it and that we should take him to court. Nico has demonstrated a lack of integrity coupled with indifference. Not the characteristics of someone I would trust with the life of my son. After reading some of the reviews I see that we arent the only ones who feel this way. Hire at your own risk.

Comment: Riverside SCUBA is not a safe place to get certified. I worked for Riverside SCUBA for approximately 9 months. I was the lead instructor/only instructor besides Nico and 1 other and I ran the shop when Nico was not around. I have since happily quit to go back to my career in EMS. The reason I am writing this is because I truly believe that you and your family would be at risk learning and participating in a sport and environment I love. I can tell you students I did not train would not follow standards. Many only received 2 dives during training due to instructor laziness. I know this because I would be asked to check on the “used tanks”. And they would all have more than 3000 psi. Basically the same amount I sent them out with. Nico has told me that he would never try to save a diver he didn’t think would live. He told me he turned a blind eye on a diver that had surfaced way to quickly. I understand this was just a story he was saying and could’ve easily been stretching the truth but that was his story. He told a diver I knew personally that he would teach him to be a Divemaster in 2 weeks even though the gentleman only had 20 tropical dives. After I left I got a call from a concerned parent because Nico decided to certify a student of mine that was not ready. I had vocalized his non readiness and Nico had never even spent pool time with the student. There are so many more instances of lies, disrespect to customers, and greedy business tactics that I don’t want to get into. This is not a safe place to learn SCUBA diving but please still look for responsible dive center and instructor because the ocean is an incredible environment that I truly believe everyone should experience! Btw he’s probably going to try to lie his way out of this review but hey, at least it’s out there.

Comment: Recently I bought a scba tank for my PCP airguns. I’m relatively new to the hobby, and was initially intimidated going in for the first time to fill my tank. All anxiety and worries were quelled once I arrived to the shop. The owner Roy was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He gave me some advice and answered all my questions. This will be the only place I will get my scba tank filled from now on. Awesome service and shop.

Comment: This place is great the owners are cool, former U.S. Navy divers, who have alot of experience, and knowledge, one owner was assistant to former owner, great selection on all dive gear, plus have on site dive school if you wish to take classes, go in check em out open weekends, seriously cool place for curious wanna be or wanna learn future divers, ask about kid classes, get ready for summer vacation for the family adventure of a life time and a sport that lets you visit one of 3 atmospheres that we live in on this planet, the other is the sky, and dry earth, learn so you can visit the life forms below the waters surface, youll be amazed at what the creator has given us but few know about, diving is COOL

Comment: I just finished my Open Water Scuba Cert and I highly recommend the training and instructors here at Riverside Scuba Locker! Chris was our main instructor in the water and he was very patient with my slower pace and millions of questions, with lots of stories and experiences to relate, and different things to try when challenges come up. JP and Greg were also teaching and training in class and at the pool and the years of experience and expertise is very impressive, always making sure we know our stuff, asking lots of questions to make sure we are paying attention, especially with the teenage divers going through certification. I enjoyed classes here and now I look forward to many adventures underwater! Great place and great people!

Its now run by two very experienced divers, the new owners are Greg Martin and Roy Widney. I couldnt have met a nicer bunch of guys, who are very knowledgeable about diving, instruction, and equipment they sell. They are very helpful to make your diving experience a safe and memorable adventure. The store has been upgraded, and really layed out nice and clean, be for rentals, classroom instruction, and some of the best dive gear you could want to buy as well. I reside in Palm Springs, yet I will be happy to make the drive to Riverside, for all my diving needs, visit them, youll be glad you did, it will be your dive shop for ultimate scuba fun !!!

Comment: Definitely 5 stars!My Mom and I went on a Trip with Wileys Scuba Locker to the Bahamas. It was absolutely amazing!!I had just recently learned how to dive and was nervous, Tony Wiley was a great help to me and made me comfortable while in the depths of the deep blue sea.Tony could sense my nervousness and stayed with me overseeing every move I made. Not only did he make me feel comfortable in the water but his knowledge of the sea and all its creatures was amazing.We sailed on a Sail Boat called the Sea Explorer that belonged to Blackbeards cruises. The crew was very friendly and made it clear that they were there to ensure our safety and that is just what they did.The most amazing thing about this trip is, thanks to Wileys Scuba Locker, I met the man of my dreams! I had my eyes on Dennis from the time I landed at the airport where he was waiting with the rest of the Wiley Crew. We got to know each other and bonded with some beautiful walks on the beaches, dancing on the Island on a warm tropical evening and swimming in the moon light with the luminescence in the water all around us....I could go on and on but I will spare you the extra mush.Yep we fell in love. But how could we make it work, I was a deputy in Northern Idaho and he lived in Southern California. Dennis and I spent many hours on the phone and I fell further and further in love and moved to So-Cal.Today we have been together for 7 years. THANK YOU WILEYS SCUBA LOCKER!!Not only did I meet the man of my dreams, but was very impressed with how helpful and knowledgeable Tony Wiley is. Weve been diving and relying on Wileys Scuba Locker to care for all of our diving needs and dont ever plan on going elsewhere.
