Historically accurate dairy farm of Rochester legend...very clean and well kept
We had a family event in the Calf Barn on short notice (within 2 weeks) and Jenna was WONDERFUL to help us with the reservation, logistics and planning. The Calf Barn was the perfect venue and extremely comfortable on a hot day for our event. They worked with the catering company in the best manner to have everything perfectly arranged. and implemented.
Lots of educational events and more interesting than I thought
Pumpkin festival..This was a good event however they ran out of doughnuts. 🤗
Absolutely beautiful area to go for a walk or have a picnic. Just a few picnic tables so you may have to plan in advance. Indoor area for weddings etc.
Was there for a model train exhibit, great for the little ones and adults
My son had his wedding here. So beautiful. If youre looking for elegant and simple, this is your place. Had the reception in the barn and it was great. This is also a landmark area and other things to do here as well.
A truly gorgeous place. A few years ago I took my senior pictures here and just last week, I got married here. Both resulted in excellent pictures. The staff was friendly and even allowed us to use their gazebo for our wedding last minute.
Just had my wedding here this past Saturday.Everything was perfect. The staff took the time to make sure that we were taken care of and everyone could not stop talking about how wonderful the Calf Barn was.From myself and my beautiful wife, thank you. Thank you for everything.
We pulled up for the maps and enjoyed meeting many men and women heading out to see all the beautiful gardens...all of the gardens did not disappoint! Staff was very gracious and helpful!
This is a fantastic facility and the staff is so professional, kind and accommodating. We needed a last minute place to host a meeting for 30 people. In 20 minutes they had the room booked, promoted and organized. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a great facility for an offsite meeting for their company or organization.
Had a great time working in the childs garden with all my garden club friends. Flowers will be beautifull for all to enjoy this summer. Carol Ralston
I didnt get to see every building, but its plain to see that this place has a passionate support base that maintains it and explains it to guests. Popular for school field trips, it is a quality historical gem in the middle of surburbia. Kids would enjoy it.
Taking a tour of the Van Hoosen house is pretty interesting. Its not super-exciting, but it gives you some good background on the history of the area. The whole museum complex is pretty cool, especially for kids.
Very cool place, definitely go check it out! They are doing construction improvements now, but should be great to go in the spring! 😁
We came here for a graduation/birthday party and it was such a beautiful setting. The center itself is gorgeous and the place was simply decorated. We had a great time here.
Lots of great kids programs, including spring maple syrup preparation demonstrations with pancake breakfast, home rolled water slides in the summer, and the local model train club’s Christmas display.
A hidden gem and a great example of preserving history for all ages.
We watched old time baseball. The museum is not extensive, but the old manor house is very interesting.
Enjoy a picnic and the river, just a few steps on a easy trail from the museum.

Beautiful place to have a wedding reception! The barn is incredibly soundproof too; you cant hear anything under youre outside of it.
We loved Wet and Wild Wednesdays at Van Hoosen Farm in July. Activities include family entertainment at the gazebo, rides down the giant slip & slide and fire truck spray fun.
Kids will love this place.....
I just attended my 40th High School Reunion here. Great relaxed venue. Id recommend this place for parties. Had a great time!
Went here for a class reunion. Very nice. Didnt get a chance to check out the whole place. Will definitely return.

We took our granddaughter to see the model train display. I thought the display would be a little larger but where it was displayed was small.

This was a great venue for a WWII rein-actor and collectors group. I hope see more of these historic type events held here.

2021-10-15Didnt get to visit the museum because we went at nighttime, but it was still very nice and the Halloween Wall of Pumpkins was cool to look at. My son and I will go back during the day to check out the museum 😊.

2019-07-31My daughter had her wedding here and it was beautiful. They have a place for the bride to get ready before the ceremony. The ceremony was held in front of a gazebo. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. They have a small stream with a bridge. Everything was magical... it was so beautiful. Afterward, the reception was held in their barn. It is a bit small, but we had 100+ people and made it work. Overall, both the bride and groom were super happy with their day. BTW, we had AMAZING weather, which made it extra special.

2019-12-28Specific to the model train the place hosts every year in december, its such a wonderful experience. They offer the remote control to kids, to control the trains on their own terms. The group of expert railroad modelers also explain the intricacies. The modules are named and there is a story behind the setting which is very entertaining to read. Example there was a truck stuck under a low clearance bridge. A cop pulled someone. There was a live music cafe, running a car show. It was absolute delight to spend 2 hours. The entrance fee is very nominal at $5 for adults and $3 for kids.

2021-09-18Fun place for kids 11 and under to play in their gardens and in the stream running through the grounds. Didnt experience the museum as it was closed.

2021-10-30Love this place all season long. They have a play garden which is nice for kids to spend a few minutes and love their plants. All events they organized such as wet n wild in summer, pumpkin wall in Halloween, old fashion Christmas and other.

2021-12-13Its a must see experience . The train set up was amazing. Lot of great history. They have a hall that you can hold parties,weddings and other events. Pretty cool place

2019-10-13Always a great time for the family. Great seasonal activities like the Crawfish grab in the summer and the pumpkin wall in the fall. Knee of our favorite place to visit.

2018-12-12Somewhat hidden Rochester Hills gem!! Been coming here for pictures since I was little. Volunteered during the summer while I was in high school. Over the years it’s been prom, senior pictures, family pictures, Christmas card pictures...Visit during the day to tour the museum.
