Comment: Use this company with caution. A technician came out to fix a clogged drain. He was friendly but I was really disappointed he never even attempted to unclog our drain. He looked at our piping (not even opening anything up) and said they wouldnt be able to work on it. He said the only way they could unclog the drain was if they put in a clean out under our sink which would cost thousands of dollars.It didnt sit well with me that he never even attempted so I ended up calling a different plumbing company. They came out, actually opened the pipes, and got our drain unclogged and serviced within an hour. No expensive fixes whatsoever.I wont be calling Rooter Hero in the future after my experience. I cant trust that they arent trying to upsell me.

Comment: Terrible experience. The technician was late and no one called me to inform me they would be late. I had to call them. The technician tried to sell me on $20K of repairs to the main sewer line when all I had was a clogged toilet. After wasting my time doing that, the technician finally got to the toilet. After unclogging the toilet with an auger, the technician threw in wads of toilet paper and plugged it again. More toilet paper than youd EVER use. Then the technician left and I had to plunger the toilet myself to unclog it again because the technician put the equipment away and wanted to leave it that way. The whole time he was trying to hard sell me on the $20K worth of work, saying that the clogged toilet was somehow related to the sewer line out at the street. My advice is to just keep looking if you are in need of a plumber. The auger also damaged my toilet. This 5 minutes of work using the auger cost me over $200. I regret ever calling. What horrible service!

Comment: Our sewer line backed up into the bathtub and shower on one of the hottest weekends of the year. Jarid at Rooter Hero took the original call. For the initial cost of $386, it took a several hours to open the line and inspect it. The 85 year old sewer line was severely clogged and roots had grown into it at multiple locations along its 75-foot length. Jarid recommended a cure in place liner as the best option to restore the sewer line. This was a costly option but it was clear that Rooter Heros inversion lining trenchless repair was least intrusive and would not damage the permanent structures in our back yard. The next day, Jarid and his crew of three worked 9 hours and the system was returned to service that evening. The final installation of cleanouts and the City permit were promptly dealt with over the next three days. Thank you Jarid, Emelio and Corey. Comment: I was very pleased with the response time and professionalism of Zach and Jim. However, they ran a camera through 2 of our lines and found issues with both. We explained the work had be done by 2 different plumbers fairly recently (one a few months ago and one 3-5 years ago). We were hoping they are covered under warranties. Zach sent me footage of one but said they have NOTHING for the other line? I don’t understand. Why film one and not the other? How do we tell the other plumbers the problems or show them? We wasted $1600 it feels like. Jim wouldn’t quote one of the lines for repair because he said “he hopes it is still under warranty”. But what do we tell the old plumbers?? We have no footage and no report. I’m very very confused and upset.

Comment: My neighbors had a plumbing emergency in their shower where the hot water handle broke, making the hot water heater run constantly and some of the water was leaking into the wall and down to the basement. They were catching that water in buckets when they asked me for help. They are in their 90s and dont speak English or Spanish or hear very well and their phone didnt work. I called my usual plumbers and they didnt want to get involved with it not being my house. I called Roto Hero because of the name. We needed a Hero and Kyle and the other members of their team really got the emergency stopped and then were able to help me get permanent repairs done right. Kyle helped me identify some other major issues in their house and we were able to make it safe for them to keep living there at a very reasonable price. I have had a lot of plumbing work done on my own house by another company in the last year, I know a bit about prices and how to judge competence and that finding people you also want to be around is a bonus if they are reasonable and competent. Now I kind of wish I had called RotoHero first for my own house. Professional and reasonable prices plus really went above and beyond to help my neighbors. It takes a lot of patience to deal with seniors and treat them as humans. I am really thankful that heros do exist!

The part that brought a serious Alarm was the cost. 1909 for 3hours of work. $938 for a bathtub drain plug that took all of 3 minutes to replace. These items caused a very serious NO in my report. It was originally 2000 but with the 10% discount brought it down to 1900. These brought my report down to the bottom. I could have bought a drainage piece for $20.00 at ACE hardware $938 dollars? For that reason I wont be coming back

Though I thought the price might be a little high, seeing my predicament he went right to work getting the problem fixed. Because of a situation where he had to get another part, my son had access for the part, the technician gave us a reduction in cost. I would definitely call Rooter Hero again for my plumbing needs.

Comment: The day before thanksgiving we lost our hot water in the shower tub. I knows it wasnt the hot water heater because the sink had piping hot water. So I first met with a local plumber that came in and told me we had to replace pretty much everything that connected to the bathtub. At the cost of 6 grand. I decided to call rooter hero and spoke to mark about our problem. Mark located our problem and had the valves replaced and it only cost us a couple of hundred. He didnt try to sell me on anything I didnt need, he was very friendly and professional. You cant believe the anxiety I had after the first plumber gave me the quote, and it was instantly relieved after make the rooter hero crew took care of our problem.

Comment: My mom found water leaking from the ceiling of her master bedroom. She called Rooter Hero and they came out to assess the situation. After calling at 3PM to tell us that they were on their way, they showed up at 6:30PM. They told her that her general contractor used cheap piping when they built the house and it would cost over $14,000 to fix because they would need to replace the piping in the entire area. Then they told us that we needed to cut out an 8ftx8ft portion of the ceiling in order to avoid any black mold issues and recommended that we move a portion of the piping over to the repairs for the ceiling because insurance would cover it. My mom was concerned that they were suggesting insurance fraud and called the general contractor who built the house. He came out and was able to fix the problem (which was one leak and a twenty minute fix) for $200 (the cost of the materials and the tool needed to fix it). The piping turned out to be one of the most expensive options (and not the cheapest like they had told us). He also was able to air it out without removing a portion of the ceiling. So either they didnt understand what they were looking at or they were trying to rip her off. Either way, I would not suggest using this company.

Comment: I am very disappointed to post this review because Rooter Hero helped us in an emergency installing new piping in my parents home in June. However, there have been some issues with the installation, including the hot and cold pipes being connected to the wrong taps in the house. That got fixed right away, but now hot to warm water still comes out of the cold tap for up to 12 minutes before any cold water comes out. A service rep came out to inspect, but he couldnt diagnose the problem at the time he came. He returned later but did not call and reported that no one came to the door, so he left. My mom was home waiting for him. Since then, it has now been 7 days without a return visit, despite constant calling and talking to dispatchers (1-3 times a day). We have been given two service windows on two separate days and no one arrived - the office had no answers of why not. Hardly anyone has been helpful. It is hard not to start feeling a bit swindled. Rooter Hero offers a 10 year guarantee on their work - I can see why! No one comes to service anything once you pay your check! Being ignored and stood up for a whole week with no explanation when there is a genuine problem is not good business practice. Please know what you are getting in to when you agree to their work and the 10 year guarantee.

Comment: I am in absolute shock right now. Im a Realtor. I called because my client would like a plumbing inspection, as hes in contract on a house. I have used many different companies throughout the years to do this same type of inspection. Normally a camera down the line can be between $100-$150, that seems to be the norm. The incredibly rude lady on the phone told me she would put my info out to dispatch for a tech. I asked her the price of the inspection. She said its a $49 fee and if we agree to the $$$ with the tech when he gets there then they waive the fee but that she could not and would not quote me any more than that.SO you are telling me, that I should tell my client that this company is going to show up he has to pay a $49 fee if the $$$ quoted seems to high once the tech gets there instead of simply knowing how much a plumbing inspection is so that he knows what the cost will be. I have NEVER EVER heard of something so ridiculous. wow! I am shocked and appalled that this company thinks, that this is a way to do business. When I asked to speak to a manager this rude rude lady refused to let me speak to anyone else, which then upset me even more. I have no idea how this company has so many good reviews, but this practice of blinding having techs go out there for a fee without knowing the cost of an inspection is simply ridiculous. I do NOT recommend this company.

Comment: After hearing commercials on the radio, I decided to give the company a try. The response was great, a technician was at my rental property within a few hours. Unfortunately it was all downhill from there. The technician told me I would receive an estimate the same day; I did not receive anything. I called the office the following day and got passed around on the phone until I was connected with the same technician who explained the office would need to do the estimate because it was such a big job. He said I should have the estimate in 10-15 minutes. I did not receive anything again. 3 more days passed so I called and asked for the operations manager. I let the manager know what happened and for some reason they went back out to the property and told me right away it would be $35,000. My tenant has been without water for 5 days waiting for an outrageous estimate and it cost me $50 for this. I am not impressed.Update: I sent American Leak Detection for the same exact problem and got the job done for under $3,000.

They said they had to inspect the rest of the home, and gave me a few quotes. I decided to do the whole home repipe because the deal was great and I really liked the lead technician, Adrian. I had a second company come out later and their quote was 6,000 more for less work. I may have haggle well with Rooter Hero, but they really gave me a great deal. I cant thank them enough.Adrian and his team worked very hard over the next week to repipe the entire home. Unfortunately, one of the showers connection to the pipes was not sealed correctly. I didnt want to pay another 5k to demo the shower and will do it later myself. But Adrian told me to give them a call if I changed my mind. The home also doesnt have a clean out, which we decided to wait on too. But Adrian made sure we were aware. Comment: We had these guys come out in September to clear our drain. They encountered roots in our system. They stopped at that point and offered to sleeve our pipe for a cost of 10k. Wow! We asked him for that quote in writing but yet to receive even now. October came, our pipe is backing up again. I called to ask if they had warranty and was told, after they looked at our notes that yes they would come re-snake our drain at no costs within 90 days and scheduled for Sunday between 10 and noon. Just before noon they called us to ask if we wanted the service. Huh? At which point I had to ask the dispatcher if we werent already on the schedule. He stated that they would try to get here as soon as possible. The technician arrived and said he would replace our pipe for 8k as quoted originally And that to finish the original job that he would need to charge us again at 350 for today. We called the dispatcher back and again was told that it should be free and she will call the technician. After she talked to the technician she told us that no they would not be able to complete the work under warranty. They were only able to offer us a rebate cost of 280. We decided that due to their lack of customer service and non backing of their warranty that we would use another service.

The diagnostic person showed me the pipe using a camera and it was clear that the pipe needed replacement. I was offered three repair options and did not feel pressured to make a choice. There was no hard sell, which I appreciate.Although my partner felt the repair price was high, I understand the difficulty of estimating a job like this since it is hard to predict what issues might come up underground - the job can go smoothly or be really challenging so it’s a bit of a gamble for both parties. Rooter Hero gives a fixed rate estimate for the job and does not add on extra fees as they go. This means the job price might be on the high end of the market, but it also avoids add in fees that can result in much high fees than estimated. Other companies give a base estimate and add on as they go. Considering that plumbing jobs can go south quickly, an open ended estimate can add up!The job was done promptly and quickly. The crew was polite and careful of the plants and trees near the job and they always let us know what was up. The office was short staffed during the job so the paperwork follow up seemed slow but that is understandable. When my partner called the office and complained about the slow paperwork and that she thought the price was high, management quickly responded to make sure her complaints were satisfied. They explained the pricing strategy and sent photos and paperwork immediately. Troy came out personally to follow up. Responding quickly to customer issues is key, and this local Rooter Hero did a great job of following up! I would recommend them to anyone.

None of them had the professionalism to tell me that the clog is not on my property and is in the area that falls under the Counties responsibilitiy. Chris and Greg. It only identified this within 15 minutes, they also found the cities clean out trap that was buried in my yard and I was unaware of. They gave me the info of who to call and I have a County worker coming out now. Comment: My 94 year-old mother lives in a 60+ year-old house in Carmichael. At 4:00 p.m. on a Thursday, her caregiver called informing me all 3 toilettes in the house werent flushing. Within an hour of calling Rooter Hero, Greg was on the scene diagnosing the completely obstructed sewer line and getting a crew digging down through the night to reach the sewer line. He also sent me a video of the sewer line and the plumbing under the house, which was leaking sewage. They quickly got the toilettes working He then turned the project over to Trevor, which was a real blessing. Trevor was fantastic to work with! He was very responsive, available, & professional. Comment: Anthony is the person from Rooter Hero that came to my house to clean up the draining system for my kitchen sink. He arrived about 5 minutes before our appointment time. Anthony is very professional on the work, he opened up the draining system and fixed the slow water run in my kitchen sink within about 45 minutes. I had another plumber to come in the day before, who tried around 3 hours and keep trying the next morning for another 2 hours while couldnt fix the problem and gave up. Thats why I called Rooter Hero and got Anthony to come in on the same day. He did a great job to fix the draining system quickly, it cost me $150 includes a 30 day warranty, Anthony also cleaned up the working area in my kitchen carefully after the work is done. Comment: We started on a Saturday with a stopped up sewer line and ended6 days later with a sewer line replacement from house to the city line across the back yard and then it was discovered we had water leaks in numerous spots on the lines under the house and Rooter Heroes replaced sewer and water lines with all new materials Excellent customer service from Alfredo and all his helpers. Alfredo treated all my questions with respect and good information. They paid no attention to what time it was and made sure we had water and toilets we were able to use before they left for the day, every day! My phone calls to Alfredo and his supervisors never went unanswered.I would recommend this company to anyone. The city inspection was completed this morning and I am so very pleased!

Comment: Words are not enough to describe how pleased I am with Rooter Hero Plumbing Sacramento, and the work they performed. Before contacting them, I had used another plumber who charged me about $700 to basically make a hole in a wall to access a pipe and then run a snake into it to temporary clear the pipes. The problem returned a day later, but was worse. After contacting several other plumbers to deal with the problem (some didnt return my call; some had phones that were disconnected; and others didnt have to proper equipment to handle the job), I finally got a hold of Rooter Hero and booked an appointment for the next day. Much to my surprise, I received a phone call from the Operations Manager, Patrick, the following morning to assure me that he was sending over his best guy to troubleshoot the problem. That guy turned out to be Greg, and Patrick was right about him. After sending a camera into the pipes, we saw several failed sewer pipes leading from our house to the main sewer line. No snaking was going to fix this problem. Greg immediately informed me as to what needed to be done and how. This it turns out was going to be a major project. After assuring me his company could handle this type of job, he wasted no time preparing and filing a work permit on his phone and scheduling a County Inspector to come out later that day. Greg also sent out two guys, Antonio (Tony) and Trever to dig the holes necessary to access the broken pipes. These holes ended up going down about 15 feet. Greg also determined a second hole could be dug outside my house to access the pipes connected to our downstairs bathroom toilet and shower instead of tearing up my bathroom and the adjacent laundry room and causing a major disruption to my family. Throughout the entire project, which took a little less than two weeks, Greg, Tony and Trever worked diligently on completing the job with as little inconvenience to my family as possible. They routinely worked long after dark, and on the weekends to finish the job as quickly as possible. They were all extremely courteous and professional and constantly kept me informed as to the status of the work. The work is now completed and we have complete use of our facilities again. The pipes are flowing like new! I am absolutely convinced that had I not hired Rooter Hero or had Patrick, Greg, Tony and Trever not been involving throughout the repair, this situation would have been an absolute nightmare for me and my family. I will be eternally grateful to all of them, and I will definitely use them again next I have any plumbing or other household problems! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Comment: I don’t write reviews very often but felt I needed to after the work that Greg with Rooter Hero did. Initially they had to reschedule, but they were here the next morning right on time. Greg was very professional, knowledgeable and even gave me some advice about maintenance with plumbing and what lead to the problem I had. They had an advertised special that was less than half of what the other three plumbers quoted me. I highly recommend Rooter Hero for good work at a very fair price. Thanks again Greg!
