They have a lot to do there. They have the arcade games, pool, bowling, and karaoke rooms. They have a ton of arcade games to choose from. Like most arcades, some of the games can be hit or miss when it comes to how much theyre worth to play, and how long you can actually play them for. Some of the games can be made a little cheaper (in terms of how many credits they require). When we went yesterday, it was super busy and a lot of the games were out of service. They dont have very many food options, and the bar didnt have many draft beers to choose from. Overall, we like to go there but dont go out of our way to go there.
First review I’ve ever left:ROUND 1 DOESNT EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR! BEWARE! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS PLACE AND DO NOT SUPPORT THEM!!! Says open until 11. Called to confirm. Yep, open until 11. Serving beer and wine until 9:30. Walk in at 9, 2 hours before close. The bar is still open right? “Yes it is, I’ll be right over.” Walk over to the bar… “oh sorry I guess we ARE closed for drinks already.” Yes, 2 hours before close they stop serving beer. 9:30 rolls around, go to buy a couple games of bowling. Can I get a couple games of bowling? “Oh my drawer is pulled but if you go to them at the other register you can.” Walk to the other register. “Oh, sorry we already closed bowling for the night.” Thought you’re open until 11? “We are, but we close early sometimes.” 10pm rolls around, a friend goes to get water. Not allowed. Closed for water. Worker says, “you can use the water fountain, but I wouldn’t trust it.” Just put on your website that you close at 11, but you don’t want anyone in here after 9. Or better yet, just close at 6pm when kids parents are finally getting off of work. Staff is rude, clueless, clearly doesn’t want to work, and management is not worthy of managing a port-a-john. First time here - Never going back.
Simply put, I do not like this place, the concept is great, but it is beyond a rip off, it’s extremely over priced, a lot of the games are out of service and not working, and those that are on to use, don’t always function properly and the points are not transferred to your card more times then not. It was disappointing to say the least, my son did have fun, mommy not so much. After $100 in game play, most games costing 10-14 credits didn’t take long to spend the game points. Def will not be returning. Staff was honestly not helpful, and it was extremely crowded, it didn’t help that a Karen was harassing me and my son in the prize room either.
Not enough tables if you have more than three people playing pool...... security will harass you for using more than one table. Might as well rent one additional pool table to avoid the hassle. No adult supervising the young people cooking the food so the food might be a little nasty.......if you dont know better the food might be good.
Drove 1 hour to get there. They closed earlier than they were supposed to. So I couldnt use the rest of my credits or get a prize. Ill go back to use the rest of my credits but after that. Ill look else where. crazy they cant find anyone to supervise this place. Left a lot of money on the table tonight saw a lot of people still want to play and got shut down like they are idiots. The dad in front of me said how do I pay you for a service then you dont provide said service and that s just supposed to be ok. Hes right 100 percent and he had 4 kids so I doubt they will be back. Thinking about it I saw at least 20 people that thought it was shady the way they just shut everything down. Cool place just bad representation and lack of discipline/ reward ratio with there employees.
I came to round 1 today for my nephew birthday party bowling was shut down, kitchen was shut down but the manager opened up the kitchen for my sister because she RSVPD the party in advance. They served 3 underdone pizzas. I understand that its a kids play place but they sale alcohol but 1 person per 1 drink and you have to wear a bracelet just to let everyone know that youre drinking is ridiculous. Then you have a security guard thinks hes Robo Cop checking on everything If I wanted someone to be looking over my shoulder I would have stayed at work but I probably wouldnt spend another dime in this place
Staff is extremely unfriendly (besides guy at bowling lane ticket counter, he was wonderful). LONG lines to oder food, they only allow you to buy one drink at a time. Security rudely kicks certain groups out at 10:45 saying they have 2 minutes to finish the drinks they JUST paid for at 10:45. I was not drinking myself, and kindly said we would leave at 11 (posted close times) as to give my group a few minutes to finish the items they just paid for. We were rudely told that we only have TWO minutes....not the 15 still on the clock. We spent ALOT of money at this place, we were not bring loud, or causing any issues of any kind.....and we were the ONLY group being told we must clear out now, and must leave our paid for drinks on our table. This place has extremely rude staff, over priced food, long lines for EVERYTHING.
Everytime I come here the staff is an issue. Especially the security, I’ve gotten yelled at multiple times for sitting at open tables even when me and my group paid for food and drinks. The food here is absolutely disgusting, you might as well go to the food court and grab a bite than even thinking of buying the food from here. If you win at one of the machines, you either have to leave it to go look for staff or stand there for 20 minutes until they come. Leaving the machine unoccupied, someone could try to steal your prize. The prizes were better when they first opened too, the prizes now seem more cheaper and harder to win. Also you can’t buy more than one drink at a time and the drink line can be around a 20 minute wait.
If I could rate this place a zero I would. Came here for my 20th birthday and all of my friends were harassed. Security hovers around. The male security guard followed my female friends to the restroom. When we confronted him about it he demanded us to leave. Extremely unprofessional and I will never waste a dime at this establishment ever again.
Ummm 20 bucks for what taste like frozen pizza was the only food problem other than that the other guest who have to have the intelligence of a Carrot should know better than to bring an infant to a place like this, it is to loud and bad for their ears people, so if you read this WAKE UP! Sheesh the people over 25 should let kids play first but then again considering todays adults.
It was very clean. We went to all the attractions.I had a cup from Annies the pretzel place. The guard told us to put the cup up so I put it in the bag bc my 6 yr old daughter chews on the straw. He came back with his arms folded and feet shoulder width apart, he stood there silently. So I didnt say anything then he mentioned the cup again so I put it back in the bag, while he was still standing there my daughter took the cup back out so I scolded her . He laughed and walked away bc she was crying. Now as her mom I want to punch him in the face but I dont. I told the manager, who told me he was young and new. Basically making excuses for him.It became a problem when he came back near us made eye contact with my daughter and giggled again. Now, I wouldnt be so frustrated if the man had headphones in his ear or if others were near us. But it was intentionally. Ill be reaching out to his supervisor.I wasnt satisfied with the supervisor at the arcade.
Great place, good atmosphere, cheap drinks, and the best game selection around. The customer service is great too. Brian had helped me out greatly with an issue with the kiosk, his handling of the situation was smooth and hospitable. Chris, who prints the 3d parts for the claw games had created really engaging experiences that kept us interested and looking for the next new claw game.
I love this place! We come for dare night with friends all the time, the isle compliment I have is we drive close to an hour to get here and when we arrived this last time the location was closed. We double checked the Facebook page and website and it both said the location was open and within business hours but both the mall entrance and outdoor entrance was closed. It was very disappointing as we planned this trip out with friends just to arrive and have our day and plans wasted.
I really enjoy coming here. The mall is about an hour way from my house, yet Ill come here just to go to Round One. I love that there are so many Japanese rythum games. Im a big fan of them and Ill spend 3 hours here with only spending 10 dollars. The only reason Im giving this place four stars instead of five is because of the other games and the prizes. Its really worth it coming here for the rythum games because one swipe is three songs which are 3 to 4 minutes each, but the other games are just like any other arcade and if youre going for those games, Id recommend Dave and Busters over Round One. Either way though, I love coming here and the Japanese games are always really fun.
So much to do! Old school, new school, video games, driving games, interactive games like skeeball, fighting games like Tekken, air hockey, bowling, pool, you name it! Pricey, but Im sure there are good deals online. My kids had a ton of fun. Oh, and games are for tickets, redeemable for prizes.Currently under covid restrictions. Limited capacity, no food and drink outside dining area, masks, etc.
This place is so nice and fun, had a amazing time bowling here, arcade machines are so cool, some were out of order though, I love all the colorful lighting here, been coming here since they first opened 3 years ago, and all throughout the three years it still looks fantastic.
Paid $75 to bowl. After we started bowling found out 3 people called in sick and they weren’t serving food or drinks. We were all very thirsty and hungry, So as the mom I went to get some drinks and fries to hold us off. As soon as I walked up with drinks for my family 2 security guards told us we weren’t allowed to bring in outside food and drink, even though they weren’t serving any and we were forced to leave. Totally unnecessary.
This is a pretty good arcade some of the games are broken claw machines are addictive but they are kind of a waste of money. a decent amount of broken games we’re sad and some of the claw games are just completely unfair. the 8$ play pass is fun to get with friends. but i definitely don’t recommend the food there are way better food options in the rest of the mall
Amazing place to go with friends and family to forget you have a life for a little while. Claw machines are super fun and addicting, and the prizes tend to change out every so often. So far, I have walked away with 7 crane prizes in the two times Ive gone ever. The ticket games are a lot of fun too, especially with friends around. All in all, a super fun place to spend about $100 on yourself, with some dope ticket prizes.
We had a pleasant experience, all things considered. The wet hot weather was rough the day of our visit so we expected it to be busy. Yes, several games were not working but we still had fun. $30 for 280 credits. Most games were 6 credits and up. Yes, several machines were out of service. Even the credit kiosk needed help when it jammed while giving us our cards. We wanted to but chose not to bowl because we were a group of 7 and none of the options were priced for large groups. If all the machines worked, I would have said 5 stars. We will return.
This company has their staff literally walk around and harass you about masks and we went one day before the mask mandate ended. I truly believe they just wanted to try and make a quick buck off of every mask they MADE YOU BUY TO EVEN ORDER A DRINK. My son had a stomachache so I just wanted to buy a water but we had to buy masks from them first. Such a joke. They clearly dont care about their customers. Bowling is so overpriced and shoes too. Not that many games to be honest for how big the place is. Definitely wont be back.
This place used to be great until Covid. Now theyre not even worth your time unless your someone trying to be at an arcade in the middle of the day with a ton of kids. Had a 25 person party that I wanted to bring in, no reservation options available at all for no real reason besides that they dont want to take them. We said, whatever, and still went on a Saturday and were appalled that the bar closed at 9PM and that they were closing at 11 instead of their 2am normal time (my fault for not checking that they changed their hours). So much for our bachelor/Bachelorette party.
I was falsely accused of cheating and was threatened to get kicked out with no proof and only based on an employee’s accusation (possible discrimination). Being a regular, I knew the game cards have recorded histories so I told them to look it up which proved I played the game a lot of times and won the plushie fairly. The manager gave the most bare minimum apology for his employee’s false accusation and left me feeling very offended and super upset. Would never go here again.
Absolutely abysmal, horribly overpriced arcade that was only justified by its unique japanese prizes. Now its just filled with generic cheap american carnival toys. Just a more expensive, harder to win at Dave and busters. $98 spent on 2 cheap plushies. small machines set to a large pay out. Hook and box game almost impossible and is deliberately set up for the hook not to turn correctly. Large claw machines at an even higher pay out rate. I would be embarrassed to work here. You will leave disappointed. DO NOT waste your time OR money at this SCAM.
We enjoy going to Round 1 for the cute claw machines. I will say Round 1 is definitely more pricey than a Dave and Busters or CJ Barrymores, but its at least worth trying out. From what we were told by employees the claw machines are Japanese style machines that are designed to push or move your prizes over instead of picking them directly up. So I see some people thrown off by that, but I still think they are really cool cool worth experiencing for yourself. Ive had no interaction with the bowling alley or regular ticket item games, so I am unaware of any issues in there. Again, kind of expensive, but worth trying it out.
My friend won the game fair in square and an employee accused him of cheating. Super petty employees and did not believe us. We drove an hour just to have a good time and the employee wasted all of our time until the place closed. Horrible experience, avoid at all costs.
The claw machines are rigged so the stuffed animal gets stuck in the drop hole and then the manager comes and accuses you of stealing and takes you stuffed animal from you if you do manage to get one. I had won after $20+ worth of credits on one machine, my plush got stuck half way down the hole, I reached in and grabbed it, and they came and said that was theft and took it. Absolutely absurd. Go to Dave & Busters instead
I love round one. Great games, fun claw machines and in general a nice way to spend an afternoon. If you plan on playing any of the music/beat-type games I recommend bringing a pair of headphones to plug into the machine, as it gets really loud in there during peak times.
Great place to go for games, great selection of rhythm games that are all in top condition, except for the Guitar Hero machine but who plays GH at an arcade. Arguably the best DDR and Pump machines you will find publicly available in Michigan. Some of their fighting game cabinets in the back were busted, one of the Tekken 7 machines had a busted LP button, and the 2 other SFV machines were out of service. Cant really comment on the claw machines or ticket games as I dont play those. Overall a great arcade/family fun center, the area was spacious and very clean, they had ac on and even fans at the dance game machines. Much nicer than any Dave and Busters Ive been too, worth the 2 hour trip from Grand Rapids imho
I love this arcade for all the hard to find machines here. Project Diva, Dancerush, all the DDR you could ever want and need. Youll always find something to do here, whether you like prize games or Japanese rhythm ones. I just wish they had Taiko no Tatsujin, my one request lmaoAnd, of course, this place is way more expensive than your typical arcade. Not that thats bad, but it adds up. So its hard to come here more than a couple times a year.
This arcade is pretty fun. Lots of rhythm games if you enjoy them, groove coaster is great! I was however disappointed by the claw machines. Half of them were empty with no prize and most of them were plushies. They also were very difficult to win, I spent about 200 credits and won no prize. Maybe I’m just bad or unlucky! My husband got one prize but spent about 300 just alone on the claw machines. When I come back I will avoid the claws.
We were harassed the entire visit for not having our mask on. When others in the place did not ha e on there’s. I won’t play the race card but my group and a family of 4 were black and we were the only ones out out because of the mask issue. The place was packed and security passed so many people without their mask on but kept coming to us. They waited until 40 minutes from closing time to put us out and had the nerve to call the auburn hills cops. Never been here before so for this to be my first experience, I’ll never drive the distance and show my face again because I felt like we were being watched and profiled the entire time.
This place is great if youre an arcade person. Theyve got Japanese game machines that have different Japanese plushies, including ones by Sanrio. Their ticket prize room has plenty of little niche prizes like patches and mini helicopters to really high-end ones like electric guitars, speakers, and even a Dyson vacuum.
This place used to be our favorite date night spot. But the green light games have gotten more busted and deteriorated over the years. They dont fix their games. If it was broken 2 years ago, its still broken today. If we buy 2 hours of play, weve played everything in a half hour and dont know what to do. Offer a discount until you can get someone to repair your games guys.
I love this arcade a lot! my fiance and I always have fun playing but during covid theyre not telling ppl theyre making them wait in a line to get in we waited almost two hrs and the way theyre letting ppl in makes no sense theres literally no reason to it they make you sign a bunch of personal info for covid but no Temps which would make the most sense but nope so worth this other info theyre no sure way to know who would be infected anyway so idk overall frustrating to just want to have fun
I am writing this review especially for I believe the managers name is Mayshawn and an employee that was working with him the other night named Angela. We have been going to this location since day one. I have to be honest the staff has never been too friendly. Some workers would get annoyed if you asked them to get a prize for you out of a machine etc. However, Mayshawn has always been kind. The type of manager that are few and far between. He remembers customers and even asked me once if my husband liked what I had one for him on his birthday. So when he’s working, you feel welcome as he is such a wonderful and nice gentleman.Angela was working that night and I had just met her for the first time. I didn’t win much but when I did she was very professional and also very kind. More employees and managers at round one need to act like Mayshawn and Angela. Together they made a very stressful night out for me enjoyable. This was one of my first times out since Covid and I was terrified. By the end of the night I wanted to come back and I hope that when I do these two awesome people will be there. Professionalism and kindness and top notch service.
I always come here with my kids but I came here on the weekend and I couldnt even get in they made me wait outside in the freezing cold...... when I asked the worker how long is it going to take he says we can only have a hundred people in our arcade so you guys have to wait until theyre done....... please round one fix that
Several of the games just took our money then had to argue with the staff to be refunded...they pulled out a whole csi investigation to make sure the machines were broken...then went about to say we have a credit in the machine walked all the way back to the flight simulator for there to be no credits credited...all while when the manger took over for her to say aloud i told you to refund the credits

2022-05-28Great place to have family fun!! Its clean, they have a bar, fries is good. Our pizza was undercooked to me. Bowling, pool, arcade games, and more. Its a one stop shop for family fun night. 2021-12-20I had heard about Round 1 from trying to find a way to play Japanese arcade games in America. I decided to try coming here at least one time to see if it was worth the hype. Ive been to this arcade nearly 10 times in around 3 months and will continue to come back here. The game selection is incredible here as they have tons of Japanese imported rhythm games that are very uncommon in America. They have the newest Dance Dance Revolution cabinets along with nearly every Bemani game. They also have tons of fighting, ticket and claw machines if you arent interested in rhythm games. This is the best arcade in Michigan if you play rhythm games. They also have other activities other than games. This is definitely the best arcade Ive ever visited and many of my friends have agreed with me.

2021-10-31My husband played for 90 minutes for $10 and I got 800 credits for $100. Id say I think I like it better than Dave and Busters. Pool tables, air hockey. Food is lacking but we can eat elsewhere.

2021-09-20The crane machines are set to drop your prize as soon as they hit the top so thats no fun LOL other than that a good place for kids to waste their parents money. Have fun!

2022-02-13Little tight in the prize room when things get busy. Most of the games were working though I would like to see a few more green games and a touch more variety in that section as well. Also the bar was closed until 3 on a Saturday, saved me a few buck so not all that bad. Probably a staffing issue.Pleasant enough even when busy, pretty clean. Will go again.

2022-03-21It is a good start to what I experienced in Japan while I was there, but very disappointed in the claw machines. They made it close to impossible to get some of the plushies. Its like they want money over the experience of the costumer. This is a Japanese company and should treat its costumers fairly as they do there over here.As for the games, they had a good amount of rhythm games that I could not get off! I loved the once that was working! That being send, two of the dancing games I played was broken and did not register my movements. (probably a part broken and waiting on parts takes a bit of time, I get that).

2021-08-29Great place to lose a few hours with the kids. Its super clean, staff is friendly and I feel like your money goes a long way. We usually just kill time in the arcade, but the bowling alley looks AWESOME!! We will definitely try it out one of these days. One of our favorite parts of the arcade is actually kind of hidden. They have a bunch of Capcom tabletop games in the back. Its 5 points a game. $40 goes a loooooooong way!!
