Had my trans let go on my truck unexpectedly and called multiple places for a quote but RW was definitely the best price around and the most professional. They sent a wrecker the next day and had my truck done within a week just like they said from the time I called them. Highly recommend to anyone needing any transmission work.
I called these guys in despair from getting worked over, ripped off and disrespected by Bay trans on Euclid- R&W went over there picked my truck up for free, rebuilt and replaced all my components, and had me rolling in a week from the phone call(over spring break mind you) all for less than the cost of what bay took 6 months to not do, not to mention the 2 tow bills i ate to get it to bay from flint. Rock solid younger cats doing their thing at R&W saving livelihoods one gear at a time. Thanks boys!
Excellent job done by employees who really care and its obvious they are well trained. Customer service is above and beyond what I usually demand. I am confident my truck was fixed to my expectations. I felt safe and secure to go about my business. Thank you so much.Sincerely, Patricia Ritter
We were two women traveling home from Alpena in an unfamiliar area. I heard a loud noise when I got going on the interstate and got off at the closest exit. I had never been to Auburn/Midland before. We pulled in a parking lot and realized the muffler had cracked. Still two-plus hours from home, we were going to try to get to a muffler shop in Midland, but it was almost 5 pm so I pulled in this place (not realizing it specialized in transmissions). The guys checked under the car and didnt think it would make it home, so they were nice enough to rig it up with some wire and said I would make it. I did - and I was definitely glad to get home! They were nice, honest, and helped in a pinch - so give them a try if you need transmission work. Thank you!
Took my suburban in to them to have my transmission rebuilt. Dropped it off on a Sunday night, got a call Friday afternoon that it was done. We were told they close soon so we can come pick it up Saturday morning at 10, that a few guys would be there. We arrived with our 3 kids and no one was there. After about 4 calls to 3 different numbers we got an answer from Logan. He said they should have been there and he would be there in a minute. 45 minutes later we were still sitting there and when calling him again he said he was still an hour and a half away. So we proceeded to drive the half hour back home because we had our kids with us. I then had to get another ride who was already in midland and had to come to Saginaw to pick me up and take me to auburn. When we got my vehicle I heard that it was louder than normal and had a tic in my exhaust. When I got home and my husband checked it he found that my exhaust flange didn’t have all the bolts in it and 1 of the 2 that was in it was barely in. Then we found I was missing my driveshaft, missing a rubber boot, and missing the inspection cap from the transmission. As well as had several other loose bolts. We attempted to reach the owner Rob who never was available. Again we spoke to Logan and were told to bring our vehicle back for it to be fixed and that the guy who messed it up would be fired. Upon research into this business we learned that Rob is also known for cutting corners when building transmissions. So that was just the cherry on top. When we dropped it off Rob was there and told us he would be fixing the issues himself. Logan confirmed the next day that Rob stayed late to fix the issues. So when I went to pick it up the next day my father laid under it to check and the driveshaft boot was missing, which we were afterwards told it had to be ordered. Then we found some more loose bolts. Had those tightened. Meanwhile, Rob was nowhere in sight. A customer has multiple issues with their vehicle after paying you $1150 you would think you would come out and apologize while things were checked over. Nope. My father had to go into the shop and find Rob. When we went back the next day for the boot to be put on the man doing it found even more things that weren’t done correctly. When I got home my husband went and did a check again and found I still had missing and loose bolts on my exhaust and am missing a clamp on the driveshaft boot. I messaged Rob asking him to call and he read the message and did not respond or call. My husband had to call the next day and Rob proceeded to play dumb and act surprised that the bolts still weren’t replaced, even though he’s supposedly the one who fixed it the second time we took it there. So now we have wasted multiple trips and gas as well as our time. I would never recommend this business to anyone and do not see it lasting very long. When messaging Rob his messages often don’t make sense and he appears very illiterate and I’m unsure how he even managed to open a business in the first place.
Best costumer service I have seen for a auto repair shop. If you have questions, they will answer them to the fullest. You can watch the whole process of their work. From them tearing transmissions apart to rebuilding them and installing them. I highly recommend if you have transmission problems to go there. The 3 yrs parts and labor warranties is the best. Awesome!
The previous owner of my truck had the transmission rebuilt here in Feb 2018. When I thought it failed in Oct 2019 (due to a local shop insisting it was the transmission). I towed it back to RW for the 3yr/unlimited miles warranty to which I thought I would be covered. They discovered that it was in fact my transfer case that had failed. Since I dont live anywhere near Bay City and couldnt just breeze in and take a look, they sent me pictures of the failure. After the rebuild (which only took 2 days) for what I thought was a very good price, I drove the long way home, it never skipped a beat. I do however have a clunking when shifting into reverse to which was occuring before the failure. Im not sure what is causing that. Not sure if its related to trans or t case or something else entirely. I suppose time will tell. One other thing, since I thought it was trans I figured Id ask them to quote a shifting issue I was having related to the shift solenoid. Upon receiving the truck back my truck has full power again and I cant for the life of me recreate the shifting issue. It used to do it all the time now its perfect. Its actually fun to drive again. Now I checked the trans fluid and it was brand new red from what I could tell. So it appears they did go inside of it. I wasnt informed of this work being performed relating to the shifting issue which I thought was odd but if it was, I am very grateful to RW for taking care of it.Sorry for the entended review but I wanted to share my whole experience. Thank you.
Rob and his team at R.W. Tansmission looked and my truck and gave me a next day diagnosis and solution. Then turned around and had it done in just another two days. Knowing needed my truck back they spent the extra time to get the job done right and fast. Price was extremely reasonable with an awesome warranty to boot. Highly recommend.Reggie B. 2005 Dodge 2500 Cummins
Horribly service. Hosed me out of $5400 on a junk tran they would not warranty. I had to take the truck back to them (2 hours away) 7 different times. Terrible service then ignored me constantly. Made me pay extra 2 times for the same part. I wouldnt let them rebuild my hotwheels.
Worst shop ever got a stage 2 trans for my ram and have nothing but problems and they won’t fix it or refund my money. Tell me it shifts fine but had two other shops tell me it’s not right. When I first picked it up truck was in limp mode and they let me leave like that saying it would go away never did. Told me it was a ecm payed for that and still didn’t fix it had the truck for 3 weeks. Limped it to another shop he had it fixed in two hours. Then they have hung up on me twice. Then rob want to act like a little kid and say I’m calling drunk when I haven’t even drank in over a year but yet I’ve showed up at the shop and there was beer cans everywhere. Most unprofessional place I’ve ever been to!! Guess a truck with Exhaust Intake and 100hp tune is stock to them
I almost forgot to write my review for the tan 2000 GMC Sierra Z71 you guys did for me. I was highly pleased. You guys not only fixed my exhaust, but you fixed my trans, and my gas lines, and U-Joints. Thank you very much for that. I will be sending in my white 2004 GMC Sierra very soon.
Very unprofessional. They DO NOT know how to do quality work. Voicemail is always full and takes days to get a hold of them. And they charge you for everyday its there. SEEMS LIKE SCAMMERS to me. Had us get a whole new motor and after picking it up it breaks down half way home.
Transmission only last 6-10months in my truck I told them I want a refund they said ok thats find now they change their mind and now saying we cant do a refund I never pulled a sled or a trailer with my truck they said my truck wasnt stock and it has 35 tires I argue bout my truck is stock tune of 350-400hp they dont know anything bout diesel truck they told me there no such thing is a stock tune they wasnt professional on the phone or through text messages
Good price and great turnaround which is why I drove all the way from Lowell back in February. Negated by the fact the 6 bolts mounting the converter to the flex plate werent torqued which left me, my wife and our 5th wheel stranded in Iowa on a Saturday. Not many options on a Saturday afternoon in Iowa. A week later, 16 hr drive, almost 1000 miles on our other vehicle and 1230 bucks later, the truck and 5th wheel are home. 5th wheel got to spend the week in a gas station parking lot.... All I want is you to honor your 3 year warranty and cover the labor of $1092.00. Yep, I could have just had them torque the bolts but I wasnt going to risk a cracked flex plate or other damage with over 400 miles to go driving thru the biggest construction mess in the Midwest.
Worst transmission shop took my trans there and it failed within a month the owner told me the transmission was installed wrong and made me pay for the parts to fix it. Reinstalled the transmission and it leaks everywhere. Don’t take anything here save yourself the headache. Would give zero stars if possible
Rebuilt my tranafercase in my suburban but it still didnt have four wheel drive, went round and round with them. Took it somewhere else they pulled tcase and Robby didnt even replace all the clutches and had just stacked multiple steels to fill the clearance. They are not licensed with the state of michigan, stay far far away hes a scamming crook.
ROB, CAM , JAY AND RICH GREAT WORK GREAT PRICING WOULDNT EVER TAKE ANYTHING ANYWHERE ELSE THESE GUYS WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR ME ON SO MANY OCCASIONS STAYING LATE AND JUST ALL IN ALL WORKING WITH ME. I TO AM A SMALL BUISNESS OWNER I WISH I COULD FIND THE STAFF THAT THESE GUYS HAVE GREAT JOB GUYS FROM JOE AT J&S AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR OF ELKTON

2022-07-12Had them build a trans for my 2003 Cummins. Transmission shifted absolutely flawless, even though the truck was making 575hp. They can definitely build a good transmission!! This is over a year old now, with no issues. Reason for the review now is I have another 2 transmissions that are going to their shop. Great guys as well! But the work speaks for its self.

2022-07-16Highly recommend RW . My Transmission was supposedly rebuilt 8 months prior. In desperate need for my work truck. RW got it out and rebuilt and back together in 4 days. Shifts great and running strong. I will always recommend them to anyone .

2022-04-19My transmission went out in my 2008 Cadillac Escalade. They got me in right away and had it turned around within a week and charged a reasonable rate! Initially I was experiencing some shifting issues so they told me to bring it in so they could look at it. JD hooked it up to the scanner and it revealed that I had a bunch of electrical codes which were causing the issue. Since Ive had those issues resolved, I have not had any problems. They are very easy to work with and I would definitely recommend and use them again!

2021-01-28I lost reverse in my trans and was looking everywhere for a reasonable replacement or rebuild. I went here to get a stage 2 48re and torque converter installed. I live three hours away and made the appointment for 9:00 am when they open. Unfortunately there was a good snow storm the night before and I ended up being about 90 minutes late. I talked to JD on my way there and it was no issue. Once I got there they got my truck right in and there tech had my trans pulled and the rebuilt trans installed in under two hours. They even replaced a ujoint that was bad. Very fast, professional service. The staff is all very knowledgeable about many different transmissions. They even tore down my old trans and showed me what failed before I left. Great team there that knows exactly what they are doing with a great price point. I had this installed Jan 26th and I’ve already put 2000 miles on it with no issues. Very happen I went here and would recommend to anyone that needs or wants a transmission. Big thanks to the guys at RW Transmission.
