Comment: Friendly and effective staff. The car was fine and drove reliably. You are treated personally, courteously and accommodatingly - that was very pleasant! We were not charged any hidden costs. They took us to the airport with their shuttle. Thanks. We recommend it.(PS: Next door at the Priceless company it was completely different (!!), so we spontaneously booked with Sakura on site, and it was possible. The car and service from Sakura saved our vacation.)

Their car for 5 days were also literally $1,100 dollars cheaper than the competitors - Avis, Fox, Enterprise etc. They have airport shuttle services too, definitely coming back here next time.

Comment: We didnt rent a car from Sakura, but we wanted to give a shoutout to Sakura for treating their non-customers like a human being. We returned a rental vehicle at one of their neighbors business and while waiting for our shuttle to come take us to LAX, we needed to use a bathroom. Every business along the strip rudely denied entry to the bathroom. Sakura was the only business that had no issues with a non-customer using their bathroom.Im baffled that denying anyone the use of a bathroom in the United States is a thing... its a basic necessity....I regret not having booked our rental through Sakura. The next time I travel to LA though, I will be booking my rental through Sakura and recommend that others do too.

After spending half an hour getting a shuttle to go get the car, when I got there, they were CLOSED!!!! And already paid booking was not important for them to at least send me a text saying that NO ONE IS AT RECEPTION to help you if you arrive after their closing hours. Comment: This company is part of what seems to be a running scam in the LA area where other companies reserve a vehicle for you, tell you it’s not there and then send you to Sakura. Whoever sends you over receives a commission (I witnessed this process while renting at Sakura) making it very obvious that there are illegitimate practices in play. The cherry on top however, was being charged a second time for a car rental when I never asked for it or consented to this purchase. I would not recommend allowing these individuals access to your card information.

Mike (owner) immediately intervened, resolved my issue and provided me with an upgrade and that definitely put a smile on my face. Rental rates were reasonable and the car was well maintained. I rent a vehicle once or twice a month, usually for 2 weeks at a time when in LA,. I will make Sakura my preferred rental company going forward. They close at 7 but If you are late to the shuttle bus at 630pm they will not take you to the airport! We missed it by a few minutes & they didn’t take us to the airport. They told us to go by Fox rental & get on shuttle there for free (which is a lie that shuttle is only for Fox rental customers only!) When the shuttle came they didn’t want to take us! So DO NOT miss the shuttle at Sakura 630pm!

Comment: The rental company we originally booked with couldnt supply the vehicle I wanted. They actually recommended Sakura LAX to us. The process was absolutely fantastic, easy and quick. They picked us up in a private van and upon return dropped us off at LAX in a private van. We needed to travel outside the Sakura official boundary. The boss (Mike?) worked with us and gave us permission to travel up to 7000 miles outside the official area provided we serviced the vehicle. We did this and he reimbursed us the service amount. We cannot thank Sakura enough for making our holiday hassle free and for working with us to help make our holiday stress free. The staff were very friendly and it is fantastic having someone in location that can make large decisions to assist customers. The deposit was released back into my account within a day. It was also great being able to use a mix of debit and credit cards (most other companies only accept credit card). This is what good service looks like. I would definitely book with them again.

Comment: MAN! These people saved my a**! No one would rent me a car without a cc. These wonderful people were the only ones who would take a debit card/cc. I was stuck, and they came through in a pinch! Great service, both at the counter and on the phone, and the car was very nice too! I would highly recommend them, and they will be my first choice the next time i need a car. Just a heads up, they use A LOT of air freshener and dont allow weed to be smoked in the car 🤣 Its even on the key chain

It was the first time I did it, I arrived from the airport without a reservation and Avis contacted me with Sakura who was completely unaware of its existence. I was looking for something cheaper and they gave me a Toyota Corolla. It should be noted that they went to the Avis company for me. The process was very fast and simple. I preferred to pay the full insurance and the deposit was 200 dollars. It was very practical for me to move by car the week I was on vacation, I was able to go to all the tourist places of interest to me without any problem. Once you deliver the car they take you to the airport.

After arriving to LAX and shuttling to the company I reserved and prepaid a vehicle with, I found Nu (booked through Travelocity)had given my reservation away!!!! It was a miserable, rainy Friday night, 6:30pm and after a dreadful delayed-flight, this was the last thing I wanted to deal with for my marathon weekend! Sakura Rent a Car picked me up at the other car rental place and had me in a cute beetle turbo, within minutes. They treated us with so much respect and disposition. We had no reservation and we left with a clean well maintained Toyota Camry in less than 30 minutes. Comment: We had used hotwire to book a car with the company NU. Upon arrival and after waiting 3 hours that company did not have the van we rented. They contacted Sakura and they were there to pick us up immediately. They worked with us on price, apologized for the experience with the first company (that had nothing to do with them) and got us on the road in under half an hour. I will only rent from them in the future!! Sakura came to the rescue and we couldnt be more grateful!

Comment: Sakura saved me from being stranded when another rental car agency decided not to take my credit card because its also a debit card. Sakura picked me up from the other agency, gave me a reasonable last minute rate, and amazing service. They are very friendly and helpful, and their office is very nice. The car is also nice; no frills or anything, but a nice car for a reasonable rate, with the same rules as the major companies (unlimited mileage, fill up the tank on return, etc.) They even took pictures of the car and emailed them to me, so that we are all in agreement about the condition of the car upon pick up and return.They did charge a $500 security deposit, but given the circumstances, I was more than happy to pay that.I will definitely be using them again the next time Im in CA.

Comment: I rent a car regularly here.Today’s service was terrible out of my 15 years of using this shop.I was in que of only one lady who arrived by the same shuttle bus was in front of me.No one took care of my check in where a Japanese girl worker in the counter enjoys her internet play for fun with her dead eyes of no work motivation to serve a customer in only two customers in the shop.I had to wait 30 minutes and wasted my time after I had to fly 20 hours from Tokyo to LA due to flight problem. American person took my call twice requesting that shuttle bus to came from LAX to this shop and of course both of only two customer service knows I came to rent a car in the two customer only shop at 7pm.After 30 minutes of wasted my time to check out almost leaving the parking to hit the road and then Instead of good service, the american service person in the counter came to my rent car outside to give aggressive word saying he doesn’t scare anybody but instead he can call security to protect him where he came to me outside almost leaving the shop.What a nice message to hear after wasted 30 minutes to just check out a rent car!For the last 15 years, I was very happy about Sakura Rent A Cat and that was good reason to use only Sakura Rent A Cat every time I came to Los Angels.I observed Sakura Rent A Car grew better and better.That was why I could not accept today’s Japanese customer service lady in the front desk ignores only one of two customers in the shop just where I initially assumed that Japanese service lady is super busy for something and hence I stay quite and waiting for 30 minutes and then I asked that Japanese lady if she is working not to waste my time further and she said yes of course working with her dead eyes enjoying fun internet and then I asked why you don’t take my check in and then I more realized this Japanese lady just enjoying internet for fun with her dead eyes with no motivation to serve only two customers in the shop.I could not accept this terrible service of today totally 180degree opposite service of happy 15 years service at Sakura Rent A Car from this totally dead eyes of no motivation to service customer Japanese lady. The line was short and check-in/check-out was very quick. The car was also in excellent condition, clean. Will definitely rent the car from Sakura again next time coming to LAX. Btw, theres no shuttle service between the airport and rental car place. But you can always get uber or lyft. Its not far away from the airport at all. If you stay in the nearby hotels of the airport, you may even be able to walk there.

I was late by 15 mins to return a car due to unexpected accident on a freeway and I called them to explain the situation before my return time but the front desk person said, “if you are late even by 1 min, we will charge you a fee of an extra day” and they ended up charging me $40 for being late for 15 mins while I had no control of being in an expected accident. There was no hospitality spirit to care of the customer and I have nothing to say but disappointment. They used to be more generous and accept a bit of delay for returns but they just kept on insisting they have changed their rules which they did without letting the customers know about alterations. Very awful customer support and worst experience ever and I will never use them again.

When I talk to people at the store, they are very arrogant when it comes to complaints.Perhaps because its not Japan, theres a habit of not saying anything, but theres not even a single word like ``Excuse me.Although they replaced the car right away, they lent me a full tank of fuel and asked me to return it with a full tank, but this trolleys memory was lowered by one. All I had to do present my ID, answer a few questions, sign some paperwork and I was in my rented chariot. Upon returning the car I just had to wait a few minutes while the car was inspected. Once that was done it was a very very short wait for the shuttle van to show up to take me to the airport so I could fly out. The shuttle driver was very friendly, very knowledgeable and very entertaining. The staff at the counter of Sakura was also very friendly and professional. Everything about my experience with Sakura Rent A Car was positive. For this reason they will always be my rent-a-car of choice in any of my future visits to LA. Domo arigato.

Comment: In Los Angeles, Interstate 5 is always congested, so if you are traveling south of Anaheim (Orange County), you should check before booking whether your car has the option to travel on toll roads.If you easily choose a rental car company because they speak Japanese, they will tell you, ``Our car doesnt have a toll road system, so youll have to pay for it yourself.During my stay, Google Maps selected a toll road as a loophole and I ended up taking it, so I paid it myself and even though I entered the license plate, the automatic calculation did not match it, so I entered it manually and returned home. The company that manages the toll road will contact you if the license plates do not match.When I contacted the rental car company to confirm that there were no flaws in the information, the first thing I heard was a completely uncommunicative man who told me, ``If there is a violation, ``Ill have to call you myself.After asking a female representative to take my place, it was finally discovered that the license plate on the car was different from the actual registration, so I re-registered the license plate online.It was a trip where I had no idea why I paid higher transportation fees, insurance fees, and rental car fees than other rental car companies.

They picked me up super quick from the airport LAX in a really nice and comfortable mercedes benz van and took me to the rental counter where Midori helped me finish the rental process! Great service and super friendly. Everyone was super welcoming and I felt great renting from them. It was my first rental experience and being so as I am under 25 they did have an up charge but was so affordable in comparison to any other major company nearby. I did a lot of research and was so beyond excited I was able to rent an affordable rental for my week stay in LA. I recommend them to anyone staying in the Los Angeles area!!

Comment: Best prices in the LAX area, reserved the car online prior to our vacation. Shuttle picked us up at the airport within 15 min, arrived at Sakura and we were in and out within 10 minutes. Super friendly staff, clean cars, they even gave us an upgrade for free! Drop off was a breeze as well and their shuttle immediately took us to the airport. I Definitely recommend Sakura if you’re looking for a stress free rental company, they didn’t even try to upsell us any additional services, insurance etc. We did bring proof of our own insurance just in case. Also, no hidden fees or surprises! Thank you to everyone at Sakura for making our car rental process a breeze!

Comment: This is my first time using Sakura rental car, the staff are very friendly, I called they before I pick up the car, when I get there office, the immediately called out my name and led me to lady for the paper work, the process is pretty quick and I get the car within ten minutes, and they also give my son a candy box as Christmas gift! I drove the car to SF and back LAX, when I returned the car, they have shuttle send me to airport, at the airport I suddenly realized that I left my coat in the truck of the rental car, so I called them immediately, and they found my coat and have the shuttle driver send my coat immediately to airport, in about 15 minutes, I got my coat back! excellent customer service! I will definitely recommend Sakura! and will definitely rent again next time when I come LAX! Thanks Sakura rental car!

Comment: I used it when I was on a business trip to America.We have Japanese staff, so Japanese travelers can feel safe using this rental car shop.Its close to the airport (LAX), but if you make a reservation in advance, they will pick you up at the airport and drive you back, so you dont have to worry.Inside the store, there are many photos of Japanese celebrities who have visited the store.The staff were courteous, so I felt like this was a rental car shop where I could rent without any worries.I have a business trip to Los Angeles next year, and I plan to rent it here.

Comment: This was my best rental experience so far. Reserved car was prepared, in very good state, super clean with a full gas tank. Rental didnt take much more than five minutes. We had a car for 18 days with zero issues.Return was also very easy and super fast. They even gave me a lift to Airport instantly with their car. Price was also good and this company just works, no hidden danger and fees. I couldnt be more satisfied (happens very seldom to me) and if I am ever back in LA, I go again with Sakura.

Comment: After arriving at the airport, they came to pick me up right away, and the procedures after arriving at the company were smooth, and the car was clean. Theres nothing to say. Also, even if you can speak a little English, you may feel anxious in the event of an accident. But here, you can feel safe knowing that even in case of an emergency, you can consult in Japanese. The amount including insurance premiums is about the same as other companies. Since I work in property and casualty insurance, I cant help but think about what would happen if I had an accident. So, next time I come to Los Angeles, I will definitely stay here.

Comment: The Japanese staff are friendly and easy to work with, but there is only one girl at the counter. The car is a Japanese car. Insurance is only available separately. I wish there was a plan that covered everything or a plan that included gas. It was cheap for me at about $60 for one day, but when I only had personal insurance, I got a bumper scrape and was charged $200. The LAX store is in front of the hotel, so the entrance is a little difficult to find. It takes about 15 minutes to return. About 10 minutes by van to the airport. If you are taking an international flight, try to arrive at the airport 3 hours early!
