Comment: I had my Ram ProMaster towed to this dealership due to its convenient location. Initially, they informed me there would be a two-week wait for service, which was frustrating. Despite this, I decided to leave my van there, thinking I had no other choice.Abel, the service advisor manager, managed to get my van looked at Monday, and it was repaired by Tuesday. While waiting, I read many reviews and was concerned, but I understand that experiences vary. It did make me uneasy but I thought, hmmm I mean theyve been amazing so far. I can see how its easy to leave a bad review, if I dont get my way. And because car trouble cab bring alot of fear and feeling like I might get taken advantage of, Im on guard and any little things that doesnt feel right, Im ready to explode..hence bad review.The service department is extremely busy, and its clear they have a lot on their plate. Abel, who is front of the house, was very kind and I was always able to get in touch with him but only because i literally stopped by everyday, lol. I never called. I wouldnt recomend that if you do not have pateinece. He did something particularly considerate for me, for which I am grateful. Although the labor cost was high, the parts prices were reasonable, especially considering the Santa Barbara location. Plus I got second opinions from other car folks and they said all wjat they did makes sense.Throughout the process, I tried to remain patient and understanding. It’s easy to blame the service department m, However, they didn’t cause my problem, and they worked efficiently to resolve it considering rheir workload. The waiting area was also comfortable enough to spend a whole day there, believe me, i know because I hung out all day waiting...not becsuse they told me to but just so they know Im waiting :)In summary, they repaired my van and provided good service in a busy environment. Patience and understanding go a long way, and Abel’s kindness made a significant difference in my experience.

Comment: My wife and I had a great experience buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Our sales person Matt Scarpaci was very informed and helped us pick out the perfect vehicle for our needs and budget. No pressure just presence. Stephania in finance was fabulous to work with as well making a dry experience really fun. Lastly, they have lots of inventory to see what you really want which wasn’t the case at other competitive car dealers. Thanks again, Matt!

Comment: Multiple offenses with the service department.1.) I had a chip in my windshield, was told it would be taken care of same day (Friday.) The day went by and no phone call from Abel -manager. I made it back there 5 mins prior to close to confront. The repair guy wont be in now until Monday. So theyll let your vehicle sit all weekend with no consideration or communication.I found an alternate solution, contacted an independent mobile repair guy, was fixed in an hour.2.) The battery died in my 2019 Ram Promaster. Before towing it in I spoke with Clay -Service Rep. He quoted me 4 to 5 days to complete diagnostics/replacement. The diagnostic was $200 at that time. It was found to have been bad, not maintaining volts so it was replaced and completed by next day. $566 was the total altogether..6 months later their new battery failed to start my vehicle after sitting while on a 7 day vacation. I had it jumped and drove it to the dealership to see whats up. David the department manager told me there would be another $240 (its more now) to diagnose the battery. I clarified that, if their test found it was bad that I would still be charged!?!? Was confirmed yes on the charge, but the battery is warrantied for parts and labor. So I thought how much could a new battery be its gotta be around the price what Im being charged for a diagnostic..I went to AutoZone, they did a free test and it failed the cold crank amperage. By the way, a top end battery costs about what the dealership diagnostic is and they install for free and in about a half hour.I brought this info back to the dealership. Now David says hell do a free test and if it fails theyll replace. It failed me at the airport, it failed at AutoZone thats enough fails for me and I dont want another battery from them because I wont trust it. Waste of time, waste of money. Going back to AutoZone for a new battery.3.) There is a recall.. this is the info I received from the FCA Recall Team.The transmission on your vehicle may not allow the park pawl to fully engage the park gear due to debris interference. A partially engaged park pawl may lead to a vehicle roll away increasing the likelihood of a vehicle crash without prior warning and/or injury to those in or around the vehicle. FCA US will repair your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). To do this, your dealer will update the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) calibration software, and replace components within the transmission, or inspect, and if necessary, replace the transmission.I spoke with David again, after he looked into what they needed to do on their end he said they didnt have the components but would have them the following week so thats when I set an appointment for.When I got there I spoke with Abel who told me they needed 2 & 1/2 hrs to update the software and thats all theyre going to do. He said thats all theyve been doing on other vehicles associated with this recall. What about the and replace components within the transmission, or inspect, and if necessary, replace the transmission per the FCA.I sure hope there arent a bunch of roll-aways happening out there because of their lack of thoroughness.Done here, going to Ventura.

Comment: WARNING TO ALL DODGE/JEEP/RAM CAR OWNERS: AVOID bringing your vehicle here! My 2017 Dodge Challenger Hellcat was stolen while in their possession. I entrusted them with my car for service and dropped it off with Service Manager Abel at 300 Hitchcock Way, Santa Barbara, CA on 11/17/23.On 11/18 I received a call that my car was ready. I arrived and paid for the service, but shockingly, my car was missing! Abel admitted they couldnt locate it and suspected theft. After filing a police report, I learned the service technician left my car unattended at a car wash station with keys inside, part of their process according to Abel. A thief took advantage, parked alongside, and drove off, all captured on dealership surveillance. Note, my car was missing for a full day!On 11/19 the nightmare continued when the police located my car in Oxnard, CA, after a high-speed chase and crash! Thieves added 210 miles, went off-road, and damaged my vehicle exceeding $15,000. I paid to retrieve my car from the tow yard, and had it towed to Crown Dodge in Ventura, CA, as I no longer trust the Santa Barbara Dodge Dealership.Its now a month later, and repairs will take another month. Shockingly, the Santa Barbara dealership refuses to take responsibility. If youre a Dodge owner in Santa Barbara, avoid the risk—drive 30 minutes to Ventura, where they prioritize security and customer service. Comment: Run dont walk from this dealership. Saw an ad on Car Gurus with a used Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that we were interested in. We contacted the dealership and Adam Bensalah returned the email and said the car was still available. We made an appointment to drive from Thousand Oaks to Santa Barbara the next day. That would be Monday, November 6, 2023. Adam met us out front and showed us the Jeep. Pretty much what we wanted, but the trailer hitch that showed in the online photos was missing. I asked about that, and Adam said the prior owner had come back and took the hitch off. I said I need a hitch...he said he would see what he could do. We agreed to move forward to purchase the Jeep and work on a trade in for my Chevy Silverado. The back and forth went on, but the figures were always about $4,000 more than I figured. Adam finally admitted that he was including a $4,000 warranty. We took that out. Asked him again about the hitch and he said they discounted the price of the car. I checked later and the price we paid was the same as the Car Guru price. We made the deal and started on our way home. Turns out there was no gas in the car and the check engine light came on. We called Adam from the car and he said to bring it in the next day for repair. I decided to take it to our local Jeep dealer thinking it would be covered under warranty, and I would not have to drive back to Sanat Barbara and wait all day. Not so. Turns out the last service at the selling dealership had not attached two critical hoses to the air filter box. Cost me $210. This was verified by the Carfax history.So, Im out a trailer hitch, $210 for the vehicle repair and a tank of gas. What dealer does not fill up the tank to a new customer.At this point I emailed CJ (sales manager) (11/13/2023) to see when we could talk...no response. Emailed him again on 11/14/2023 with my specific concerns...no response. E mailed his again on 11/21/2023...No response.Hence the bad review. Took my car there for a service (engine light on) on a Friday, they kept it the whole weekend, and on Monday told me that the only solution was spending $5.5k replacing the whole engine but it wasnt really worth it considering it was an old car, -which I agree on that- and that I should get rid of it ASAP. Been offered the possibility of trading it in and getting another one from them which wouldve resulted in a great business for them.I got a second opinion from a trustworthy mechanic.So its Tuesday, turns out the cars repaired within an hour, working just fine. They had to replace a small thing and refill the engine oil. SB CDJRF didnt even find that the engine oil was leaking/drying out somehow and didnt even wanna try to keep track of the problem. I paid $210 to just know what was going on.For the same price in the second place I got the same diagnosis and also a solution done and rescheduled to keep track of the problem after some miles driven.SB CDJRF wont care much unless you wanna buy a car from them.Now theyll probably reply down here saying how sorry they are when they really arent.You should treat your clients better, especially when you are Jeep dealers too. People think its the best/first option to bring their car there for a service when they own one of the CDJRFs.

Comment: NEVER bring your car here for service. I have been bringing my car here for years for routine maintenance and the occasional issue when they arose. In the past I always felt comfortable and informed. This last time I had an issue I brought my car in, tagged in some additional services that my car was due for, and $1K later I was called and told more needed to be done still to diagnose the issue I had first brought it in for. As I was asking questions to the service agent I was given a run-around response, no clear indication of why or what needed to be done, and when I was talking started to hear LAUGHTER in the background. The service agent cut me off and clearly wasn’t listening, and the interaction made me uncomfortable because clearly I was being mocked on the other end of the line. I asked instead to pick up my car that day. I paid my $1K ($250 or so of which was to diagnose the actual issue that was never diagnosed) and called the manager immediately. I relayed my concern and he assured me he would follow up and call me back. I never received a return call. I do not feel safe as a woman here and will never be returning. Another shop took me in and less than a half day later/ $100 my issue was solved.

Also if you bring your vehicle in for service they park the vehicles along the street and take up nearly all the residential parking for people that live around here. Overall they have bad business practices and dont care about the residents that live around here, the vehicles they are taking in for service, or the employees that need to park vehicles to actually work in the area..One of their employees hit me with one of their cars this afternoon 6/7/22 at 1:04pm while i was walking past their sign on the sidwalk. I left thinking I was okay but my wrist started to swell and hurt shortly after. I called them 2 hours later letting them know what happened and asking if they had cameras pointing there since they must for insurance purposes. So I got my Ram Truck TOWED in to the Santa Barbara Service Department because I was having problems with my ignition. Once they finally diagnosed it I was told it would take 2-3 weeks for them to receive the part needed. Once they finally received the part it took them a whole week in order for them to schedule me an appointment. Vehicle was towed first thing that morning. It was 3 o’clock and yet to receive a call of the status of the truck. I called 3 times and no answer. Left messages and finally they returned the call only for them to not even know what the Vehicle I was calling about was Make/Model/Color of the vehicle. To make things worse I was told the Vehicle Had not Arrived from the Tow Truck until 2:30 PM that afternoon which was a total Lie. This vehicle had been dropped off at 10:30 AM. I called the Tow Truck Company and Triple A and got confirmation the truck had been dropped off 10:30 AM. Abel is a total Liar.Please Beware They Lie to There Customers!!!!!Horrible Customer Service

Parts cost is inevitable but today I was charged nearly 7 hours of labor @ $105 per hour to; oil change (1 hour), brake fluid change (1.8 hours), Fuel Air induction cleaner (2 hours), Rear Differential Service (2 hours), and rotate tires (flat fee @ $38)...all easy jobs. I feel there was definitely padding of labor charges on my bill. Look..I am not cheap but I hate getting ripped off!!! I wont be back.

The Compass had some minor body damage so my granddaughter ask for a little money off the asking price and they would get it fixed by a friend in the business . The sales person asked the sales manager if this was possible and they agreed on 600.00 off the asking price but as they were doing the credit numbers a higher up manger changed him mind . I told my granddaughter over the phone to go have lunch and see what numbers they can come up with. While they were at lunch the nice sales person called her and said the manager was being dishonest with them and said dont buy the car and he said he just quite and walked out and for them not to go back. There were several guys just standing around doing nothing. - l called Jeep USA and they told me they had a few complaints about this location and that I was best to avoid them. We bought a brand new jeep from this establishment a couple years ago & have had many problems with the car. We have had to bring in the jeep for many recalls & other various problems. Most of the problems still remain even after they have ensured they were fixed. Able who is the manager in the service department is always extremely rude, never calls us back, has even tried telling us we were making things up. I would never buy another Chrysler product just because of the horrendous customer service we have encountered. We plan on selling our jeep soon so we dont have to deal with them anymore.

I experienced nothing but outstanding service from Jose, he promised to take care of minor issues with the Jeep and he went above and beyond the call of duty to make it happened. I strongly recommend this dealership and especially Jose the awesome salesman. His colleagues were just as outstanding. Kudos to the finance representative, sorry I forget his name, however he was very professional. Kudos to Abel for making sure the visor was installed in a timely manner. Did a car inspection with them and they recommended I do up to $4000 worth of fixes. Took the issues to 3 mechanics in the area and they were all completed under $500.They love taking the smallest thing too and making it sounds like my cars going to explode if I dont get it fix like changing my fluids when I ask the mechanics they said it wasnt that bad at all and probably didnt needed them change for a while. I also recently went in to re-program my keys and I need a 4 digit pin thats unique to each car. Just look at the one star reviews, and that should tell you all you need to know. Owner, dont respond with an insincere lie, youve already lied enough for one day. You will ask how you could resolve the issue, yet that will be another lie as you already know how you could have solved this problem; and that is by selling me the vehicle at the advertised price. I suppose the extra $4k you make on this sale will be worth the bad reviews further highlighting your deceptive practices, and cover your costs dealing with the Federal Trade Commission and the BBB. How can you people sleep at night? On this end of doing business with your company, I will tell you honestly that I couldnt sleep at night knowing that I didnt do everything possible to warn the public about your company. What prompts this review? They advertised a used car on Friday for $29k. I expressed interest in purchasing it, did not attempt to negotiate and was willing to pay their asking price. The following day they wanted to run a credit check on me for purchase. Noah told me there was a lot of activity on it, hence they took their ad down. Not until later did I discover that, just for me they raised the price by $6k, then discounted it by $2k which equates to a $4k increase in price. Oh, but the advertised price didnt include all the fees they tack on, which actually raises the OTD price by 20 percent! Hilarious if it were not so sad. I am insulted that they think I am ignorant enough not to pick up on this scam. Noah, the last time I looked a $4k price increase without notification in the middle of a deal is called false advertising, and it is a deceptive trade practice. I asked one seemingly simple question. Do you ever intend to sell me the vehicle at the price you advertised? No answer. If they never intended on selling me the car for the advertised price, they should have continued to ignore me, but instead, seemingly for sport, they would not let sleeping dogs lie. I guess that wasnt enough fun for one day of lying to a customer, so many hours later I got an email from Noah asking if I had any questions. Yes, Noah, I still have the same question you refused to answer. Do you intend to sell me the vehicle for the price you advertised? Im sure we know the answer. This dealership is the polar opposite of Sewell Lexus in Dallas, which I reviewed four years ago. I generally do not write reviews as they can be subjective, and a negative review is particularly difficult for me to write, but how could I sit by and allow the public who is not as savvy to be duped by these people? I cant. In fact if you look at my review history you will see that most of my reviews are positive. We only realized when we picked it up that it was still cracked. Then we scheduled to have the other part fixed but found out when we got to our appointment that they were backed up and would not be able to fix our car until the next day. A phone call to tell us that would have been nice since we needed to use the car. I asked about a rental and he told me we would have to pay for that. There was no shuttle service either that day. Comment: Santa Barbara Dodge (3 ½ stars out of 50 reviews, not good). I purchased my Dodge Ram in Ventura. A few months later I notice white puffs of smoke from the tail pipe. I brought it into the Santa Barbara Dodge location to their service department. They quickly diagnosed the problem as being a quart over filled with oil (that’s how I got it). They changed out the oil, checked the rest of the vehicle, and called me to come pick it up. No charge as it was covered by the warranty. I was told to come back every 1,000 miles for the next 5,000 miles for an inspection to insure the problem was fixed and so it could be documented to protect my power train warranty. I was very happy with my first three visits. Months later I made an appointment because my digital speedometer was not matching up with my physical speedometer. It was also time for my fourth inspection for the oil issue. This time I was “helped” by a gentleman named Able. I informed Able of the oil inspection that needed to be done and told him there should be detailed notes in their system as the service department previously took this issue very seriously and documented everything (wish I could remember who it was I dealt with before because they were fantastic). Ten minutes after dropping of my vehicle I called to see if my truck was under warranty as I knew it was close. Able informed me it was under a power train warranty but the bumper to bumper had fallen off so the inspection for my speedometer would need to be paid for out of pocket. I then asked if he located the notes about the oil inspections. Able told me he had only one record of my vehicle being inspected for the oil issue and that was the original service for the issue over a year ago. I told Able I was concerned that the lack of documentation would affect my warranty because that is what I was previously told by Dodge. This is also why I have been taking my time to monitor my mileage and take the time to carefully follow Dodges instructions so that the integrity of the warranty would be preserved. Able told me again he had no record of any inspections and put it back on me asking if I had saved the paper copy of my services invoices. I told him no. He told me that every service Dodge does they give the customer an invoice and if I had kept the invoice then I would have a record. Able told me I could bring them in for him to document if I had them. He told me that he would check the oil for me and that there was no need to come in for any further inspections regarding the oil. This was frustrating and I strongly feel Able needs to be remediated in customer care and encouraged to complete due diligence (do your homework) before tackling an unfamiliar issue with a customer. The services department as a whole plays an integral role to the customer….the consumer. Knowing this, and after reading the reviews (3 ½ stars out of 50 reviews, not good) of the service department, I see a major missed opportunity by the local Santa Barbara Dodge dealer owner in fixing this problem. I have been in town for 27 years, been driving Dodge Rams for 20 of those, and I don’t mind paying a little more to my local owners but this doesn’t mean they get to do less. You can do better! Be professional, be courteous, know your craft, and be friendly. Dodge owner, if you need a local dealership to model after try Perry Ford (4 ½ stars out of 800 reviews, excellent). Purchased my wife a new Ford three years ago from Perry Ford and they, as a whole, are always super helpful and know their skill set. For future customers of Santa Barbara Dodge, apparently you need to save your paper copies of your invoices in case something goes sideways.

Every time we have an issue they tell us it is not covered by the guarantee. I would never buy a car from them again

Comment: Place is a total joke. I bought a Pacifica Hybrid Minivan. Price was great and they got me out fast. Problem is they totally messed up the DMV paperwork and have been unable or unwilling to fix it for months. Instead of a plugin electric they marked it as a Butane Commercial vehicle. Apparently they have been making all minivans Commercial for God Knows how long. If you bought one you better check your paper work. It costs and extra $80 a year for every year so you should probably try and get your money back.

Comment: Saw a price on autotrader at this dealer. Went in, test drove, and decided to make a deal. Initally they did not want to honor price, but sales manager worked some numbers and came very close. We agreed on price. Went to bank to get cashiers check and a bite to eat so they could get the paperwork together and prep the car. Just got a text and voice mail to call ASAP. General manager backed out on the deal. Not a dealership I want to work with or recommend ever.

Another person met me very reluctantly and I never felt that they were interested to sell the car to me. For me, it was close comparison between two close competitors model, and just because of this unpleasant experience, I just opted out from Jeep. They lost a customer. Ps: I bought my car in the same week.

Comment: They shouldnt even be in business: cant fix your car on a rainy day because the mechanics work in the open air, service department doesnt return calls, there is no voice mail system to even leave a message, took weeks to get the two appointment i had. The third, to fix a problem they hadnt solved on the second visit, wasnt possible because they no longer service a car they sell. They should fold their big inflatable tent until they are ready for customers. No option here to give them no stars, but no stars would be my vote.

From beginning to end it was bad: from the rude service rep who answered my first call to them having my car for FIVE working days and then telling me it was beyond their technicians ability to fix my problem! Then when I went to pick up my car last night at around 6:30 pm NO ONE would wait on me, so I looked in the parking lot for my car. It was left running with the heater on full blast! Left by itself! Comment: I dont write reviews, but Dodge Ram Fiat Chrysler of Santa Barbara deserves major acknowledgement. I stopped by to take a look at the Ram 1500 since Id been researching this truck for several months and had never seen it for my own eyes. Matthew Razo showed me the car and I quickly realized this is the truck for me. I left the dealership as Matthew said he would work on some numbers. Just a few phone calls later, we made a deal over the phone and a payment $100 cheaper than I was expecting. Matthew went out his way to make sure I ended up in this truck and Im grateful for his efforts. Between Matthew and the Finance Manager Paul Mills, I drove away in my new truck in the most seamless auto purchase Ive ever experienced. Minimal price haggling and full transparency. These guys are top notch and the Ram 1500 is an amazing truck. Thank you Matthew and Paul for the excellent service. Do not hesitate dealing with these guys-they are the best.

Comment: Only got a recall worked on here, though it took three times as long as manufacturer estimates, over five weeks to schedule a job, and when they gave me a complimentary tire pressure inspection, which I do myself twice a week and told them I did not want, I received my vehicle with just over half of the recommended tire pressure... Pathetic, I hope they installed the recalled airbags correctly!

Comment: Worst dealership experience of my life. Went in to look at two Jeeps. A compass and a Cherokee. I made the sales person aware that I was torn between the two, to which he responded “I love driving cars all day but let’s narrow it down”. I had only been there for 10 minuets, and there were no other customers on the lot.So I opt to drive just the compass. The salesman was perfectly pleasant during the drive. So I go into the office to talk leasing options, he takes down some of my information and says he’ll email me in a half hour with some numbers.2 hours go by with no response, so I email and then text him. He responds saying he’s still working on it. Fast forward to the next day the manager calls to tell me that my sales personnit out sick, which is fine. The following day, no call no email, so once again I email and text inquiring. They then quoted me a vehicle which was much more expensive than the one I had driven and without my trade. I brought up how the vehicle I they quoted me was 6k cheaper (for the same vehicle same options) at a Jeep sealing in a neighboring town. I was then told to go ahead and go to that dealer and that they were sorry we couldn’t come to a deal.For the record, the price they had on this Jeep was the highest in the country as it was listed right at MSRP.They really made zero effort to help me in purchasing a vehicle. I had to do most of the work for them and every time I did speak to them on the phone they were rude. I will never go back to this dealership, luckily I have another one in a neighboring town I can go to.
