Comment: I wish I had not trusted this auto repair shop with my vehicle. I had 2 conversations with Ken the owner before agreeing to bring my car here. He sounded so convincing that he really knew how to fix my car. They were paid over $1300 cash and my vehicle is still not fixed. Check engine light is still on for what I brought it in for. This is not good business. It started at the beginning of April then after it appeared fixed about 150 miles later light comes back on for same code. Take it back again. Starting 5/1 they had it for 17 days straight and it would go days without being touched and little time worked on . Kept taking on new jobs and ours sat with very little time devoted to it. Poor communication with no updates. When calling for updates told Ken will call back and he never did. Kept telling him we need this car back. Had to show up on the property to find out updates which were vague. Clearly he didn’t know what he was doing. Finally it dragged on for so long it was clear he didn’t know how to fix but won’t admit it. After doing research on our own were told by multiple mechanics all these parts (pump and 2 check valves) had to be all OEM parts or the system will keep throwing codes. He refused to put OEM for all the parts. He finally agreed to put in the OEM pump but check valves are aftermarket. Then says see I knew that wasn’t the problem even though he never put in OEM valves. On day 17 of him having our vehicle we requested our money back and to put the car back together so we could drive it home. He refuses to refund our money even though he hasn’t fixed our car. He did put it back together so it could be driven. This is the first time ever to have a horrible experience with a mechanic. I have delayed leaving this review hoping he would make it right. Warning to everyone beware of this shop. Communication needs to improve greatly. I sure need my $1300+ since the vehicle was not fixed and now it has to go to another mechanic for repair for the same thing . We have lived in Simi for 26 yrs and know a lot of people in the community.. He will not be getting any referrals for business from us. Ken & Paula if you read this I sure hope you will reconsider.

Comment: I purchased a classic car and didn’t know what I was getting into. I was having some issues with my carburetor, compression, oil leaks and whatever else comes with owning a 1964 classic car. Schneider’s was recommended to me by another auto repair shop that didn’t want to take on what was required to get my car running properly. I called Schneider’s, the owner Ken answered the phone and I proceeded to tell him about all my problems with the car and Ken immediately said “sure bring it in I can handle it”. Ken was very professional, kind and honest man. The price he quoted me was the price I paid and the work is professional. The work I asked Ken to do was a lot and he got it done. If you have a classic car and just a everyday cruiser take it to Schneider’s . The entire staff was very comforting and easy going. Schneider’s Automative is definitely a 5 star organization. Thanks Ken and crew for your hard work and professionalism.

Comment: I was told about Schneiders Automotive by a neighbor use to live in Simi Valley and use them for years. I own 3 Mercedes and they were all out of warranty and I didnt want to pay the dealers price for routine maintenance. When I called to schedule a service the gentlemen I spoke with said that they service MBZ, BMW and all other European cars. The service was done as listed in the service manual . The follow up was amazing. These people are professional and I will continue to use them for my cars.

Comment: I had a really great experience recently at Schneider’s. I was referred to them by America’s Tires to repair a broken stud. I did have a few things that I needed to get taken care of and I was offered a free inspection and provided with a detailed list of everything that was in good condition as well as recommended repairs. And then I was given a written quote for everything I inquired about. The quote was detailed with parts, labor and fees included. The whole process was low pressure, no hard salesmanship. I spoke with four different people, and all were professional and courteous. My car was returned washed and running in great condition. The repairs were done faster than expected. I held off on the most expensive repair and I plan to get a second opinion. I doubt that Schneider’s is the cheapest auto place in town. But I would trust Schneider’s to do a good job and charge a fair amount, so I would likely go back regardless of the competing quote. I’ve only had one experience with Schneider’s, but it was a very good one, and I feel comfortable recommending them highly. I’m actually really glad to have found them. I would prefer to support a local business versus the dealer where I’ve been taking my car up till now.

Our main reason we went there was to fix the ‘death wobble’ on our Jeep. They were able to schedule an appointment next day and give me a diagnostic and quote of how much it will be and timeline of how long it will take. Great customer service with emailing over estimates, explaining what needed to be done, and follow up calls on the progress of the car. I was surprised by how quick they were able to complete the repairs. Once I picked up the Jeep it ran great, but to really put it to the test we went on trip up north about 600 miles round trip and did some light off roading. Guess what no ‘death wobble’!

Not only are they kind and have the most amazing customer service Ive ever witnessed at a mechanic shop, but they are HONEST. Do you know how hard it is to find an honest mechanic? I had taken my car into the Hyundai dealership over a month ago and they said my car was great and didnt need work. My intuition told me different. It wasnt until my car wouldnt start that I knew my intuition was right.Schneiders gave me a complete breakdown of the services I needed to get done from high priority to low. They didnt push me or try to sell me anything I didnt need. They told me the facts and left it in my hands to decide. Not only that but also gave me a free car wash coupon and a fancy water bottle and pen to round out this incredible experience. Steve and Joe are amazing and make you feel safe and that youre in good hands.Even if I move out of Simi one day, I will be driving to take my car into them for maintenance. Comment: We needed to get a 2000 F-150 that had been sitting in storage for several years road ready again. We did a lot of work ourselves (new brakes, tie rods, control arms etc) and after purchasing new tires from Americas tire they recommended Schneiders automotive for a wheel alignment. They booked us in within a couple days, did a complimentary and very detailed multi point inspection with photos for us and noticed the ball joints needed to be replaced first, we picked up the truck, fixed those and they got us back in quickly. We are very happy with the knowledge and professionalism plus kindness of the techs and staff there. They did an excellent job and their prompt communication with us throughout the process was great! They also called afterwards to check in to make sure everything was good. We highly recommend them for your automotive needs!

Comment: So these couple 1 star reviews made me bit cautious taking my car to Schneiders, but Im glad I did. Extremely positive experience. Took in my Range Rover for an oil change. Pricing was in-line with other Indy shops, but what you get in return is way more. They used the higher grade of Oil. Usually shops use the lower end of the allowed range to save few bucks, but at Schneiders they went by whatever dealer would have used. My car got somewhat detailed visual inspection, with pictures, notes and recommendations. All got posted on line, and I got a link to review everything. It was more detailed and better presented than my yearly medical exam with blood work ( take that Cedar Sinai). Customer service was friendly and attentive. Final report came with some suggestions of near future repairs/ maintenance, but at no point was pushy.Im not really freaked out about COVID, but it was nice to see that their office was COVID-proofed. They even suggest you to take with you pen you sign documents with.Im new to Simi, so Im happy I found a place to take my cars in for service.

Comment: Schneider’s isn’t worth your time. I brought my vehicle in for a door lock issue; after a few days, I picked it up. I took 3 seconds to check that the locks now worked—the problem wasn’t even fixed! Did they even bother retesting the issue to see if it was resolved before trying to charge me for their “service?” Evidently not.Schneider’s doesn’t give the time and attention your vehicle deserves. Simi has plenty of mechanics; do yourself a favor and pick a different one.Side note. They also don’t take COVID seriously. Office staff only wear masks when customers approach and don’t bother enforcing masks for other customers. Technicians don’t mask at all, even in the office. They must not care that COVID lingers indoors. If you care about preventing the spread of infection, you won’t feel safe here.

They provide a comprehensive inspection which includes what you brought the car in for as well as anything else they find. This was extremely helpful and they do not push extra repairs on the customer. Most of the items I was already aware of and plan to take care of them in the future. They quickly diagnosed my problem and compleyed the actual repair same day. The cost was a little more expensive than I am used to but not egregious and well worth the customer service that was provided. I will definitely come back for additional services.

After having several bad experiences with Simi Ford I had a friend recommend Schneiders automotive. The minute I walked in I was greeted as if I had been coming there for years. Within a couple of hours they called me a diagnosis. That was followed up with an email with pictures showing the problem and also a couple of areas of concern. The truck was finished the following day. Its been several months since the work was completed and the truck has been trouble free. We were upfront and told them if the repair was expensive we would not be doing the repairs. They said no problem bring it in we will do a free evaluation, and they did. Their estimate came in about $300 dollars less than the average price listed online, but still out of our range. We did not do the repairs but they were so kind about it and even put fluid in it for free so we could safely drive it off their lot. I highly recommend them...FAIR & HONEST!

Needed to get my CarMax warranty into the mix, and they were able to handle it flawlessly.Unfortunately, my new clutch master cylinder wasnt adjusted properly on the first try, so I had to take it back in to get it adjusted. However, the owner (Frank) totally owned the problem. He paid for the towing to get it there, the Uber for me to follow the tow truck, and was even ready to pay for the rental if I needed one!A little hiccup on the process, but it was handled great. They were very honest and did what was best for me, told me how I could be better served by going to the dealer.
