Sears Appliance Repair in other cities:
Requested repair. Waited. Technician came and diagnosed PART of the failure, not the entire failure, I had to do myself. Technician ordered the part. Part never cam after a LOOOOOONG wait. Technician returned, but no part. Technician re-ordered the new part. Part would not arrive for a month! Cancelled the repair. Located ONE of the needed parts, and installed it. I could not get another part in time, so I had to go out and purchase ANOTHER stove!!! So much for their guarantee. I mean, I guess if you can do without an oven indefinitely, there would not be any problem.
Our dryer was not working properly, continuing to run without ending the cycle. We had Sears Appliance Repair out. He made no effort to diagnose the repair needed. He estimated that it could cost $500 to repair. We subsequently ordered the $65 timer and made the repair ourselves in less than an hour. It was clear that the repairman never intended to make a repair. He was there to collect the fee for coming out. Then he screwed up the credit card payment and even though I can see the charge went through I am getting billed by a collection service. I try to call and cant get through to a person. Best to avoid these people entirely.
It took almost a month to get an available appointment for refrigerator that was popping my 20 amp breaker. The technician who came out was very friendly and knowledgeable, Discovered that where the cord connects inside of the unit, there was a defect and the unit wasnt properly grounding. He ordered the part and said it would take up to 14 business days. Once i received it, call back to schedule the install. 7 weeks later, i still do not have the part. After multiple calls, i finally got feedback that the part was on backorder, without a date of delivery, and they refused to contact Samsung directly to find out more information. And then rudely hung up on me. I never raised my voice either or was rude. Rather the person on the phone was. When i called back and asked for a manager, they said one wasnt available. They have also refused to give me a copy of my receipt even though that charged me during my initial visit because the service isnt complete. I will absolutely never use this company again.
Yesterday I called because our induction cooktop was not working. That morning, I had an electrician come in and confirm electricity was running through the cooktop. I called Sears customer service and explained our situation: pressing the buttons does not turn on our cooktop and an electrician came to our house confirming electricity was running through the cooktop. One of your technicians came in for a diagnosis. I notified the technician of what my electrician said. The technician pressed the buttons on our cooktop, said it was broken, and left with $149. I was confused because I anticipated your technician to bring in some tools and or a computer for a detailed inspection of our cooktops problem. Instead, your technician just touched our cooktop and said it was broken, the explanation I already gave to the Sears customer service representative I spoke to that morning.Last night, I called Sears Customer service again about the technician you sent to us yesterday. The representative allowed for a refund on yesterday’s inspection and sent over a different technician to our house between seven and eleven am today. After waiting for three hours, I received a text message saying that the appointment was abruptly cancelled. Confused, I called Sears Customer Service again and was on the line for twenty minutes. This representative, named Y.., said there was nothing she could do about the situation. Y.. refused to give a more detailed explanation as to why the appointment was abruptly cancelled, refused me to talk to her supervisor, and was overall very rude. Please understand my situation. I only asked to have a proper and more detailed inspection and diagnosis that I anticipated from a $149 fee. But after my unpleasant experience with your customer service representatives, poor technician service, and lack of communication between your customer service representatives and technicians, I ask for a refund and no longer request any more services.
I paid for an estimate, yet I have unsuccessfully been trying to get my refrigerator repaired for WEEKS!!! They have canceled my appointments on 4 seperate occasions... so I dont exactly know how proficient, or quaintly their actual repair technicians are.I guess Im going to have to eat the loss, and call someone else execute another estimate, and complete my refrigerator repair.
I made my appointment 2 weeks in advance to have my dryer looked at. I was scheduled between 12 and 4 pm. When I got no call and no show at 4:15 I called to see where the repair man was. I was told hes running late (along with being pushed for more services from them) and would be there by 5:30. 15 minutes later I received a text stating my appointment was changed to the next day! I took a day off for nothing?! I called to see what happened and rudely was told theres nothing they could do, they over booked!
Rip off! I have used them for repair work for many years. When the used to be A&E Factory Service. set appointment for a fridge leaking water. tech was at house (including time in truck) for less than 30 minutes. cleared a blocked water line to the ice maker and vacuumed the coils. Charge was $400! When I tried to call, I was given the run around and phone numbers to departments that dont exist. BUY BEWARE. Much better options out there.
The technicians have been very friendly and good about keeping me informed on when they will be arriving. Work was done quickly and they left my home clean and neat. My only problem is with the scheduling. I have a Sears Protection Plan covering my Kenmore Elite fridge (made by LG). It has been a bit of a lemon, and I’ve had several opportunities to call for service. In my most recent incident I contacted Sears on July 15th when my fridge was not keeping food cold (47 degrees when set to 33). The earliest a tech could be scheduled was July 24th. He arrived on time and diagnosed the issue with LG technical support on the phone and ordered a new control board. Had to wait until Aug 8th to have the board installed. The new board made no difference. Three days after the new board was installed the fridge hasn’t dropped below 40 degrees and the freezer is at 23 degrees.I contacted Sears again, and was told that the earliest a technician could come to look at it again will be Aug 20th. Absolutely no priority was given in scheduling, even though Sears/LG obviously misdiagnosed the problem on their first visit. Now I’ll be without a usable refrigerator for over a month , and who knows how much longer, if more parts need to be ordered. An extended service plan isn’t worth much if I’m not able to get timely service. I’ve had to buy a second refrigerator - just to survive the time waiting for a technician to provide the service the protection plan supposedly guarantees.
My fridge wasn’t cooling properly a couple weeks before Christmas so I scheduled an appointment. The person on the phone told me the mandatory $125 just to show up would go toward the cost of the fix if I had the tech fix the fridge. Tech shows up, seemed knowledgeable, only looked at the back and said everything looks like it’s working properly. He didn’t open up the inside of the fridge to check components inside, like the thermostat. But explained to me that the person on the phone shouldn’t have told me the $125 would go toward the cost to fix it because that’s not how it works. So a couple weeks later and before the 90 days, the fridge was still not cooling properly. I had another tech show up. He changed out the obviously burned out thermostat inside the fridge. He was here for less than 1 hour (about 20 minutes). Charged me $100 for the new thermostat and $300 LABOR. $300 an hour for labor? So now I’ve paid a total of $530 for a new thermostat. People will rip you off these days without any conscious.
I was very disappointed with Sears itself, not necessarily the tech. The tech was supposed to be there between 12 & 4. He called at 2:45 and said hed be between 30min. to 1 hr. He showed up about 1hr. 40 mins. later. He was not a happy man, but he did fix the dishwasher rack very quickly, but the charge was outrageous. I knew what was wrong with the dishwasher, a broken piece. I didnt need someone to come to the house to diagnose it. The Sears store told me I couldnt bring the top dishwasher rack in to be fixed because they dont fix dishwasher parts at the store. Clearly that makes no sense since all the tech did was install the part in a few minutes and left. I was charged $125 for the house call which was totally unnecessary. Total cost to replace the part was $295.00 . The part itself cost $40.00. I told the tech I could almost buy a new dishwasher for that price and his response was I dont sell them, I just fix them. Not a good experience at all. Very displeased with how this request for assistance was handled by Sears.
It has been 2 months since my Microwave oven has stopped working. I know we are in the middle of a pandemic and I am really not someone to give a negative rating to anyone because things happen. But I am really frustrated. I have 2 kids at home. We have been working without a microwave. First the door ordered was delayed due to shipment from China. No updates to us. Then they finally found a door and tech was supposed to come out between 10.00-2.00. No show - no call. I call customer service to find out he is running late. Ok - no problem. I understand things can go over time - even though he did not notify us that he is running late. Then 30 min later - my appointment is rescheduled to 2 weeks later...just like that. And when I asked on chat why - it seems that I requested it. I told the chat lady that she can check the call records and I did not but nothing that she and her manager can do to fix it since apparently I asked for it......Just really pathetic.
I called Sears Appliance Repair about a repair of a Sears Kenmore electric dryer. I specifically asked the the customer service representative if the quoted $105 “diagnostic charge” would be applied towards the cost of the repair or was in addition to the repair cost. I was told it would be applied to the cost of repair. The repairman said this was incorrect and charged me the $105 on top of a “labor charge” of $162 to replace a fuse, which took 10 minutes. Total cost was $12 for the part, $267 labor for a visit that took less than 30 minutes in total. I called their “Resolution Hotline” and they refused to credit the diagnostic charge.
Waited for 4 hours (window 12-4) and then had to call to see if Sears was still coming. Was told the technician was arriving at 5:00 instead but they didnt bother to let me know even though Id signed up for text alerts. The technician was a very nice man and fixed the problem with our dryer. My complaint is with Sears internal tools, they encourage customers to utilize, not working. My husband and I just purchased ALL our new house appliances through Sears because of the dependable service were accustomed to in the past. Sadly, this experience did not live up to our expectations. I hope Sears gets its act together!!
The girl who made the repair appointment was more of sales woman. I specifically asked if the technician would have all the parts necessary to fix our Ice dispenser, yes-she replied. She was also pushing their $60 a month maintenance program. Finally, I had to hang up. Technician came with no parts and to only tell me that my Ice dispenser needed parts-no kidding! He wanted another $279 on top of the $89 that I was charged for nothing. He too tried to sell me their maintenace program. I refused further service and got rid of him too. Pushy pushy! I went online and ordered the parts for $46 and will installed them myself for free. No more Sears for me...
We have found our annual inspections to be the greatest way to be sure our appliances are working well and that we are caring for them properly. Have appreciated the technicians who came and did the work. Repairs have been done along the way and we know they are in good working condition.
The repair to our treadmill was successful. So far, the thing is working great. Two gripes. Our Treadmill is a BH S3Ti. No parts in stock in America. Took many weeks to get in parts. Repair appointments had to be canceled several times because of parts backorders. If Sears is going to sell this brand, they need to stock parts to support the brand. The technician also did not help carry out the failed parts. Left the boxes, failed parts, packaging material, etc. in our basement. Not a huge deal, but kind of annoying. The technician was very nice and knowledgeable otherwise.
Terrible, I scheduled a week in advance to have my garage door fixed. They called to confirm the day before and they gave me a window of 11am to 3pm for the next day. Today no one called no one showed. I called their number back at 2pm to make sure someone was coming and the woman I spoke with (Melanie) was rude and said they still has another hour. So when 3:07pm rolled around I called again. This time she said she would page the tech but was very short with me. This is the worst experience I have had with this company and I will not be doing any business with them again.I took a day off from work and they wasted the entire day for me.--As I wrote this they called me back to say I didnt confirm the time with them yesterday, but I did otherwise how would I know 11-3 today.I am done with Sears. Ill never buy a product or service from them again. This is ridiculous. Horrible customer service!
After 4 visits by 3 different technicians, the correct part was finlly ordered and I installed it myself. A thermister that was very inaccurate and wouldnt allow the fridge to defrost. I manually defrosted it about 10 or 12 times. It seems allright for now, time will tell.
If I could give it a ZERO I would! Three times I miss work to wait for the technician and they havent solved my problem yet! Each one of them said a different thing: they dont have the part or the time to do the job! This is ridiculous! My refrigerator Kenmore Elite is 4 years old! This is the 3rd week without a refrigerator nor a freezer. Sears will lose my business for sure and Ill post on the Media and spread the word as well! DO NOT BUY FROM SEARS! YOU GUYS HAVE NO RESPECT FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS!
The service technician was very good and thorough.... However, $200 to replace an ice maker hose that had a defective crack is typical of my experience with Kenmore products. Unfortunately, a two year old refrigerator needs basic repairs based on a defective part, and the customer has to pay. Next appliances will not be Kenmore!
It was a lengthy process but very smooth. The parts needed for our fridge were covered under manufacturers warranty and Sears contacted them to be shipped. The technician arrived when scheduled and completed the job in a timidly manner. He cleaned his mess and put everything back as found. Best part was the repair bill was actually less than the quote! :) You have a customer for life now. Thank you.
Our experience was very poor. Scheduled a time in which technician arrived an hour outside of the 4 hour window, left in the middle of service to only reschedule on their convenience. This left me with a dryer in several pieces. Ask to speak to a manger, who never called back. Customer representative were not helpful and after demanding to speak to a manager, I got the run around and a disconnected phone call. Will not be using them for any of our future services!
The serviceperson arrived within the time bandwidth, was extremely courteous and helpful with diagnosis of the appliance concerns and promptly repaired the unit. I would highly recommend and commend the input and professionalism offered from this person and company. The entire experience was well received.
Pathetic excuse for a company. Three hours into our appt window, they call to say the technician is sick and wont be coming. Oops..second phone call to them they say it is due to over-scheduling. I guess lying to your customers is one thing, making a crappy Sears appliance to secondary. Completely unreliable service, will never buy anything from Sears ever again.
I was told the $115 minimum fee would be applied toward whatever parts and labor were needed. It was not. I was charged $352 to adjust a freezer door - no parts needed and a 10-minute job. Thats exhorbitant. I called to lodge a complaint and no one ever called me back. A horrible company and a horrible experience.
Had service last Friday. Steve came out, looked at my dryer with cracked drum and cinfirmed yes its a cracked drum!! Charged me $89. Had to have a technician come out because my warranty company requires it. Steve assured I would get the reciept for the payment later that day. Today is Wed and still no receipt, I have called them every single day since Fri asking to simply get my reciept. Every time I call I am told t would be 24 hours. Still no reciept. A truly lousy service company with a rigid and failing system. I will NEVER use this company again. A true discrace.
07.03.2016 Service man arrived within the expected time frame. Easy to identify as a Sears employee. Promptly identified the problem and set about fixing it and instructing me on how to prevent this problem in the future. Left the service as clean as he found it. Prompt, professional and thorough.
The repair to my fridge was quick. The tech knew what he was looking for and knew of the problem that apparently is common for my fridge. If I had to make on criticism, it would be that he didnt clean up after himself and that he was quite negative about the fridge that I had purchased.
Fantastic Service! Very Professional and shared with me some tips on how clean the carb out over the winter storage on my riding lawnmower (using sea foam cleaner - look it up) along with how to identify a mulching blade vs. a standard cutting blade. BTW - the same came out in early fall last year and did the same to my snow blower!
Resent dryer repair was good.recent refig. Ice maker repair was horrible.problem - I maker produced low volume of Ice.first attempt to fix ice maker - Teck just did a maintenance and didnt even investigate the ice maker problem. It did work a little better for a day or 2 then failed again.about two weeks later the second tec. Changed the Ice maker . after this it produced no ice because the tec . installed the wrong ice maker . Actually the ice maker does produce ice but with the ice bin installed the bin hits the bin full switch. The bin full switch moves horizontal but a vertical moved is needed for proper functioning. This is obviously the wrong replacement ice maker. this is an almost unforgivable mistake but O.K. anyone could make it. However, there is no excuse for the Tec (or lack thereof) not checking his work. He was just too much in a hurry. My real problem is the sears response to the problem, I couldnt get another tec. to come and fix this thing for 3 weeks. I spent hours on the phone with sears repair serves trying to get a improved date . They said that they would call me with a new date and even cave me a confirmation number but nothing so far. Its ridiculous. I have several maintenance agreements on several appliances that expire 2017. I dont think I will be renewing any of them. I can fix this stuff faster and cheeper myself.
The tech did not keep the agreed appointment time., which was 3-6p.m. He called me at 11:45 and asked if I was home. Of course I was at work and I needed to keep my orig time. He stated he didnt think he could wait around that long between appointments. I said I would be home at the stated time and hope to see him then. No Show. I find out that he reported that he called me and there was no answer. Liar. Had to reschedule. The guys that showed up, 1 for the fridge and 1 for the stove, were very good.
This is the second time they have been out to make the repair. The water dispenser still doesnt work. I have paid for it. I have been left on hold twice on the phone for over half an hour when I asked to talk to a supervisor. I finally had to call back and start over as no one was ever coming back on the line. When you call back for a return warranty appointment they give you one two weeks away. So you have now paid, your appliance is still broken, and you are two weeks away from the next appointment. I am mow scheduling a third appointment, two weeks from now, to fix my still broken fridge.

2022-07-24I give them two stars because of their timeliness and professionalism. However they did not fix my cooktop and I was told they would have to order the part, and bring two techs to fix it and couldnt come back for two weeks. I called another company and one tech came out the very next day with the part and fixed my cooktop.

2022-05-12This service company is aJOKE.... cost $155 and told $600 to repair. Was told when I scheduled Id get credit toward a new appliance if unable or expensive to repair. DID NOT HAPPEN, tech did not know of such credit. I have made 5 calls, different #s, each connected to India, no one can help me.... NEVER EVER CALL THIS COMPANY FOR REPAIR, NEVER EVER

2022-06-28My washer displayed Error Code U6 when the load became unbalanced and stopped spinning. The serviceman knew immediately how to solve the problem. He also advised me on what steps to take if the problem recurs. Excellent service.

2022-01-20The worst customer service. I spent 2 hours trying to cancel my appointment. Most of phone numbers on their website dont work. The one that works said to go to their website. Per their website, my order was not found. Finally I was able to chat with a real person. It took 30 min to chat with her and she was trying to sell windows and garage doors instead of just cancelling my order. I was so relieved to receive the email that my order was cancelled. The next day... I received the email that my appointment was rescheduled for the same date!!!

2021-12-18I asked for a service on a microwave that wasnt turning on, i was fairly certain it was a fuse or breaker. I didnt attempt to do this myself as this was part of a double over mounted in the cabinets.I was told that a tech would be dispatched and they asked for a credit card number in advance. The tech came after three weeks, within 5 minutes of entering the house tells me after opening the microwave oven door that there is a lever that needs to be replaced and they dont have the part. He tells me he cant repair it and leaves. A day later I see a charge of $249 on my card with no authorization from me. In the meantime I had another contractor (not Sears) come out and he told me it was a reset switch behind the microwave thay tripped since I cleaned the conventional oven below (fairly common with Jenn Air). The issue was resolved and I was charged only $60 by this honest tech, unlike Sears.I complained to Sears as their tech never fixed my microwave and furthermore misdiagnosed the problem. I sent all the documentation to show their tech botched it. They told me I would get a refund and after numerous calls, no refund.I urge everyone to stay with from this repair company. When I call the customer support helpline, they keep offering me other services that I have no interest in rather than helping me with my refund on the failed service call and misdiagnosis.

2021-07-22Terrible experience all around. The tech that was sent out was rude, unprofessional and completely unhelpful. We were having an issue/leak with our ice maker in our freezer. The tech (can’t remember his name unfortunately) came in, didn’t even open the freezer. Complained and asked us for tools and equipment and then did nothing. He tried to pressure us into some warranty offered by Sears and the told us to hurry up and make a decision as he had “other things to do”. I cringe and feel bad every time I see their vans on the road knowing Sears Home Services is on their way to completely rip off and con another customer. I tried to call their customer service department and was given the complete runaround. Their systems were down for 3+ weeks. I asked for a manager to call me 5 times and heard nothing. Still have no resolution and I am out $150 for a “service call” which was laughable. Bottom line - do not use Sears Home Services ever. Their technicians are ill equipped and they not experts in any home service and/or appliance and their customer service department is not focused on servicing customers or resolving issues.

2021-06-18We have used Sears warranty service for years and have always been very happy with the technicians that come to the house. This time they were especially good and did even more then we expected. Cleaned both appliances up and made sure everything wasps working great. 10 stars very happy with our service

2021-06-11Several emails and text messages before the appointment, Informing me of the date and time window of noon to 4:00 p.m.. On the day of the appointment I noticed the time was 4:45 p.m. and I had heard nothing. When the technician arrived, I was informed the call was to service a range oven at $149, but I made the appointment for my microwave, which he said would cost $249 plus parts and labor. I would not have agreed to that price and waited 10 days only to refuse service. It got even worse before the tech left, but bad enough with what Ive already explained.

2021-10-25Dennis did a wonderful job. My burner ignitor was out, Dennis replaced it and its working great ever since. I have an LG stove and frankly when I called them I was put on hold twice and given a major run around. Sears worked well for me!

2021-10-24Beware of this service, serviceman spent less than 10 minutes in my basement came upstairs and flashed his cell phone in my face, telling me this was the damages. Before I could get my reading glasses he said you need to buy a new washing machine. He quoted me over $800 for a washing machine motor (I found a price of less than $200 online for the part). After he left I surveyed the area around the washer and it was obvious he never pulled washer out or looked at any mechanical parts. Im out $119 and have not been able to speak to a real human about this shoddy service.
