The Michigan Secretary of State office s in general have really went downhill recently but this particular office and the Freemont office are particularly pleasant in comparison to much of the rest of the system. White we could certainly benefit from a new Secretary of State, this office is well staffed by quality people.

Gal was alone.told several people her life story rather than concentrate on customers. My problem had friend who needed personnal ID (she can no longer drive) and forgot birth certificate. Drove home for BC and came back to bureau. Three others ahead of us. They were taken care of plus gals life story. I went to counter and explained we had 950 appt.and had to get birth cert. Gal says I cannot take returns I am by myself and want to lock door. So got appt.5 hrs.later. was taken care of then nicely. Bottom line we could have been waited on without problem had gal done job instead of feeling sorry for herself. Needs re-trainning

Very rude. The lady pointed at me an asked my husband why I was here as if I couldnt speak for myself. Her exact words were why is she here? This lady has worked here for many years she is a louder talking lady and I couldnt have been more insulted by her having to ask him instead of asking me when I was standing right in front of her. Thinking she might need some training in people skills. 🤔

You can get in and out fast, that’s the only upside.The women who work here are so unprofessional and are always unfriendly and complaining about other customers, especially Cathy. An employee was told to turn someone away because the appointment was made in a different family member’s name and she said, in front of the customer, “I’m not turning her away because her dad is dumb and made the appointment in his name.”I’ll keep going here because of the convenience, but I always brace myself for the unfriendly staff.

Honestly they gave me great service. I was getting my license and they got me done in 5-10 minutes. Very fast service, very nice employees. I would definitely go their again. I wouldn’t go to Ludington, they are very rude and impatient.

I have never experienced such unprofessional, uneducated and unorganized staff in my life. Wasted 8 hours driving round trip because they did not call us to let us know that testing ended at 4:00PM. I was told to leave after i was giving the wrong form 2 times to renew my license.Do not come here becuase it is quicker, these women are absolutely karens.If any type of management is reading this, fire everyone and get new people. Truly disgusting.

Problem with an id. Was asking miss Sonya for more info. Refused to try and process and alternate id. Then told me you are a big boy and your an adult in front of the other people trying to embarrass me for answering questions. Also made fun of an elderly woman who was not able to push the exit door open. Room was filled with awkward stares at her after that.

Two consecutive times Ive been in there Ive overheard the women speaking badly about the customer that they had just waited on and loud enough for the whole office to hear. I had to wait for one woman to finish texting on her personal phone at the counter (dark hair but unsure of name). I was met with nothing but attitude when I was waited on by her the last time I was there and talked down to for no apparent reason. I live in Shelby and will now be driving to the Grand Haven location to do my business rather than hear all the snarky remarks the staff seems to make quite often about the customers. I get that you know your job better than the customers but there no excuse for the amount of unprofessionalism Ive witnessed more than once at this location.

I went today and as I walked in they said Mama were closed for lunch. Being a mom with 3 kids in tow we walked back out and came back in an hour when their lunch was done. My heart sank when I saw the 20 people in front of us. I told the kids to have a seat on the floor because we would be waiting for a long time. Just then an angelic voice from behind the counter says Maam you were here at lunch, come please right up. They by no means had to do that. I am so greatful for the awesome service we received!
