Comment: The property is very clean and run well. The office managers are thoughtful and have helped us move across country. The only thing we struggled with was our large moving truck, 26 feet long was a very tight fit for this property. Other than that, take time to read the rules follow them and you should be golden!

Comment: I asked if it had elevator access. It does but not for people. Im disabled transplant patient. I had to climb a flight of stairs. With a bad back & hip. I had to stay upstairs in the heat in intire time to make sure thing were put in accordingly.It felt like to was 140 degree. Ridiculous. The person who checked me in yelled at my family for have lunch while waiting on him for taking so long with my check in process. He had no right to do so. When they didnt not no that was one of the rules of the facility rules.I guess I should have stayed with Extra Space Storage. This was not Good choice. Now I may have to turn around a move again.Sad & Disappointed Customer

Comment: Fast east sign up. Great security. But more expensive than others in the area and the units have absolutely no lighting. Even with hallway lights they’re pitch black and there aren’t any hooks or places to put your own lighting to make it easier. Will keep looking around for better options.

Comment: Great Storage place. Very operator friendly with an elevator unit that can be used for the second floor. The units are also AC controlled which is convenient for your stored clothes and electronics, you wouldnt have to worry about the weird humid smell on your belongings. Staff is extremely friendly and very helpful with all questions you need.I highly recommend this place if you can get here in Chula Vista versus other places.

Comment: Was here in 2016-2017, promised to never forget to do this. Number one they offer discounts for good reviews and not sure about Google but with YELP its against their policies. Now here we go.. Rented here for about a year downsizing. The ladies were RUDE! They do not offer a trash bin for disposing items upon moving out. The clerk actually said to me, No storage place offers bins. I hate when people speak and dont know what theyre talking about. As if we are dumb.Well thats not true because SMART SELF STORAGE in National City and Eastlake do. Further, my storage was all the way in the back, down the aisle. Whenever I was in the storage unit, we constantly had to walk down the hall to reset the lights, they NEVER stayed on. SMART SELF STORAGE has lights inside your storage and you control the button for 30mins, 1hr, etc. When it goes out you can just go turn and have it back on. You get what you pay for. I cant remember exactly why, but I was also contacted by attorneys who said SPC were in trouble for forcing people to use their insurance. I assume they got my info from their records.

Comment: UPDATE: I was not just shown the unit I rented it, it had been advertised for a while online and the other units appear to be in similar condition. Now I am wondering why I was charged full price for a unit that was offline for repairs as the owner said in his reply to my review. Very disappointed in this business.Needed a storage unit on short notice so came here as there seems to be a shortage and many places dont have larger units. Was very disappointed at the quality of the unit, it was very dirty, appeared to have insect droppings and possibly orange mold on top. I did not feel great about leaving my stuff in the unit but needed to store them somewhere. I am now considering what to keep given how dirty the unit was.The staff is friendly and they did allow me to see the unit prior to renting. Good experience with the staff besides not getting a returned call when I called as they had customers in the office and another representative telling me I could not remove the $12 insurance.If you care about the condition and cleanliness of the unit where you are leaving your stuff I would look elsewhere. Price appears competitive with other places I called

Comment: Security Storage in Chula Vista must be under a new (since 2007) owner since I used it, given all the sparkling reviews here. My experience moving my stuff TO the unit was a nightmare, thanks to the then-owner. When I booked the unit over the phone from my departing city, nobody mentioned the limit on truck size, since you have to ascend a narrow, uphill curve, which makes larger trucks or trailers impossible. When I got there, I not only had to rent a smaller truck to unload from my large truck to their smaller one, but when I drove my remaining goods to my new apartment --- ONE MILE AWAY --- the owner warned me Id have to put gas in. Yes, for a round trip of two miles. Because this was diesel, I had to drive 6 miles out of the way, and then pay him for 12 total miles in addition to the (should have been unnecessary in the first place) rental truck. Like I said, I suppose theres new ownership, because I wouldnt give the 2007 one the time of day, though the wife was always wonderful. Her husband? Dont get me going. I deeply regret this customer review wasnt available back then.

Comment: This place may be hard to find but it’s a hidden gem. The staff is fantastic. There are locks on site to purchase if you’ve forgotten to purchase one. The only issues I have are that the one way driving lanes get a bit crowded and it’s difficult to drive past other customers who have larger vehicles (moving trucks, SUVs, etc.) parked to unload their items, and that there is no lighting inside of each storage space. This facility is very clean and well maintained. I trust that my items will be safe and secure.

He said that he would pump it up and sell me more insurance or I could go somewhere else. I walked to another one a few blocks away. Im still waiting for the charge to be reversed.Reply:I declined because I said that if there was one problem then there might be others and I dont understand why I need to purchase an additional safe ride insurance when I already have my own.

Comment: My wife and I are moving and needed a storage unit to temporarily store our furniture. We shopped around to find the best price for a decent place. Security Public Storage won the search. Not only is it easily accessible, secure, and well-priced, but the staff was also extremely helpful, curteous, and made the process super easy. Filling out the paper worl was as simple as a couple of clicks on my phone, the whole process took less than 5 minutes. The individual who helped me walked me out to the unit to show it to me and make sure it met my requirements. They have great hours,, being open 6am-9pm and all.of my payments can be taken cared of on their website. I get my own personal code for entry to the storage facility, and have a personal lock for my storage unit. I feel really good knowing our posessions are safe and it isnt costing me an arm and a leg.

Comment: My experience has been ok. It was easy enough to get the storage unit. There is a military discount, but I still think the unit is kind of expensive for its size. Overall, my experience with SPS hasnt been the most amazing thing ever, BUT it hasnt been bad at all. No problems.

Comment: Beware! The on-site manager Lorenzo seems like a nice guy but he is full of empty promises. We went there to get a unit for 12 months and he told us things we wanted to hear so they can earn our business. He gave us a tour of the property and showed us a couple of units, but none were the ones we wanted. He told us one will come available since they had 20 units sold at auction and they were just waiting for 24 hrs for buyers to empty them out. But when it came down to signing they said they didnt have the one we wanted after all. Big disappointed!!! They screwed us over and he didnt seem a bit apologetic at all and we have to move our things tomorrow. Do not give your buisness to them! I give them 0 stars if I could.

Comment: We have had a great experience with this business. Lorenzo, the manager, deals with customers directly - interviewing to assess needs and offer the right services. He was dynamic, thorough, and we got exactly what we needed - quickly. Definitely recommend this business.

Comment: Have used them for both office extra storage and for my personal storage too. Easy access and has security gates & video surveillance. No problem with storage being to hot or getting flooded. I highly recommend them and staff is very helpful. Love the quick & easy access best of all.

Comment: The service here is excellent and the associates here are very friendly. The site is well guarded and I feel that my personal belongs will be safe here will I am away from town or just relaxing at home.
