Only issues I have is communication could use improvement to the client and the P.A. not being concern for the client in properly treating the issue that they are having. They act like my father is just having an off or bad day. I do love most of the staff they are nice and act their generally concern over issues. They provide transportation to my fathers appointments which is a great deal of pressure off from me taking him and still manage keeping my job.

2 years ago, I would have given them a 5 star rating when our loved one was enrolled. But after having a loved one in the PACE Program at CentraCare long enough, you learn that the Interdisciplinary Team makes all the decisions and will refuse requests for referrals and additional in-home hours based upon their own set of medical necessity tools. Doesn’t matter that after a couple of years your concerns for your loved one is no longer safe in their own home or not; or that their disease has progressed to the point they need 24 hour supervision. The Team decides everything and their hired Social workers are pro-CentraCare, instead of advocating for your loved one. If you appeal a decision you will be encouraged to dis-enroll. Your POA means nothing to them. They claim to give 24/7/365 care, but are closed on holidays and do not provide nighttime care. If the assigned in-home worker is sick and can’t come to work, good luck getting CentraCare to cover the in-home hours. Your loved one will be left alone to fend for themselves. This is a money motivated program and they will cut costs at the expense of your loved one. You are better off, if financially feasible, to speak to an elder law Attorney before enrolling. Just a note: many people working at CentraCare have hearts of gold.....but you will find Management up to the CEO oftentimes heartless and cold. To them it’s just a J.O.B. where the bottom line financial statement is more important.

Great place to work due to good pay and benefits but terrible for clients who sign up. They would rather keep your family member in unsafe living arrangement then pay for assisted living. I got a lot of calls about aides not showing up or not providing care and when i reported it i am the one who got in trouble because i dared say anything. I would never let my parent sign up for this program.

We moved my father from Illinois to here . Centra Care was extremely helpful in getting dad in 5 days per week so that I could keep working. I know while dad is at the center he is well cared for and loved. Dad enjoys the daily activities especially singing. All the staff we have interacted with have been helpful and kind and are truly caring people. The ability to have physicians, dentists, therapy and a nutritionist all at the center to take care of any needs has been great and very helpful. I highly recommend Centra Care if you need an adult day care center for your loved one!

My fiancee and I have been at odds with this company for the past several months, trying to coordinate care for her combative elderly father. During this time, they have done everything in their power to guilt my fiancee into accepting her physical/emotional abuser, her father, into our home to take care of him.My fiancee has diagnoses of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and acute intercostal muscular trauma due to her previous employment. She CAN NOT care for an elderly man that requires assistance to go to the bathroom or get in and out of bed. But CentraCare doesnt care. All that matters is that they get their Medicaid payout while doing as little work as possible, pushing it all on the family. They used their own in-house physician to have an elderly man with dementia ruled decisional despite the fact that he is, as we speak, covering his body in feces because he doesnt like where he is staying. We TRIED to have him taken in to a nursing home, but they over-rode us so that they could stay in the loop. They even took an insulin-dependent diabetic OFF his insulin and couldnt figure out why his blood sugar was so high! A real crack team, this one.So no, I would not recommend CentraCare to anyone. Their staff is condescending, rude, bullying, and fail to listen to the familys needs in addition to the elder adult.

Stay away as far as you can from this place, or visit them once. Case workers never stay beyond a few months, neither do most staff there. We had at least 15 different case workers assigned for our loved one over a few years. They were changing constantly. The care (?) is HORRIBLE. The facilities they contract bottom of the barrel. I would choose this place again only if I wanted to expedite a loved ones death or increase suffering. Wish I had known then what I know now...

I truly CAN NOT say enough wonderful things about Centracare. All the people there from van drivers to receptionist and secretaries to aids to Doctors, PA’s , NP’s, RN’s, Case Managers all clinic staff, PT, OT and the list goes on and on.... Our situation had been difficult at times with my dads needs and we have had to do some trial and error to get things running but this TEAM has certainly hit this out of the park! They do not believe in the word “Can’t” they worked and worked and worked until we found a solution! After all Rome was not built in a day:)My advice to everyone who is involved with or has loved ones who are involved with Centracare, be patient, be open to suggestions, be kind, listen to what is being said and offered. Realize they have to meet your loved one, get to know them, form a relationship and asses what your loved ones needs are to help put together a successful plan.THANK YOU CENTRACARE Of KALAMAZOO for all you do!

Really good program for senior adults with disabilities that do not have long term care insurance.

Very rude workers and would never recommend to anyone. The drivers just drop the patients off at the door and do not even make sure they are in the right place.
