Eric is an outstanding salesman. Very patient and very knowledgeable. Great selection of light fixtures, furniture, and flooring.
My husband and I stopped in here on a whim thinking it was just a lighting store but its so much more! We found the perfect light fixture for our bathroom reno and on top of that, the flooring we are going to use on our first floor. The larger flooring displays make it much easier to envision in your home and the prices are in line with the big box stores but better quality. They also have unique home furnishings and well be back when we furnish our newly floored family room! The sales people are very helpful, friendly and not pushy.
We are just finishing up our remodeling project and wanted to share our great experience that we had with Shelby Design Center. They provided our flooring, tile and lighting, all of which look fabulous!! We received great ideas from all of the sales associates that helped with the final plans and decisions. Adam and Anthony came out to install the floors and tile and were very efficient and experienced. Adam helped to turn some tricky spots into great ideas. All worked out so well!! Highly recommend Shelby Design Center for any new or remodel job. They have experienced professional consultants and a beautiful showroom that is definitely worth exploring for great product and design.
Highly recommend the Shelby Design Center!During the recent remodel of our condo, we had the pleasure of working with several team members. Mark OLeary did a great job in helping with the selection of our new flooring. Adam and Anthony did an amazing job with the removal of the old ceramic tile and carpet and then installed all new laminate flooring throughout the condo. Greg, in lighting, was very helpful when selecting our new lights in the foyer and dining room.We couldnt be happier with the selections or the level of service!
I’m so happy to have worked with such a reputable company. I recently had new carpeting installed and noticed a problem with a color match along the seam. Within a couple of hours after notifying my sales representative, Corinne, the store manager, Mark, was at my home to inspect the seam. He immediately assured me that the entire carpet would be reordered and replaced. On both installation dates John and Joe arrived on time, were very respectful and efficient. Shelby Design Center stands by their product and has great customer service. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for flooring.
Adam and Anthony did a wonderful job. They had attention to the smallest detail and everything turned out great. We had LVP installed along with floor molding. Highly recommend!
AMAZING!! All I can say is you get what you pay for! Rosemary our sales representative took great care of us, my husband and I can be very high maintenance when it comes to making up our minds. We had our entire home re- carpeted today.The carpet is amazing!!!! Our installers were two of the most professional, clean, and hard working people I have met in a long time. This establishment has it down! They know what they are doing and they do it well!
We had Shelby Design Center install both a large carpeting job and a large luxury vinyl plank flooring job and both turned out fantastic! The store is beautiful, the selection is never ending, the sales staff is friendly and very knowledgeable, and there are very good quality selections at many different price points. The installers are very good at their job; and friendly and professional on top of that. Highly recommend Shelby Design Center and their products and people.
SDC has been great about taking care of problems we had with our Hunter Douglas Duette blinds especially Michelle Bottini. When a repair to our shade was not done well, she got Hunter Douglas to send us a new blind and kept us informed during the entire process. Great customer service.

Mark was great to work with both with my home and my moms. Adam and Anthony did a fantastic job of installing my new waterproof wood floor. They were very accommodating with my elderly mom and also working around my cat Dahli who insisted on supervising the remodel. Im very happy with this outcome and would recommend them.
My wife and I really enjoyed working with Shelby Design Center. Sometimes we dread starting a major project because we have had a recent history, it seems, of consistently bad customer service. Definitely not the case with SDC, and in particular our sales associate Jennie. She was great to work with when picking out our lighting; friendly, knowledgable and quickly picked out pieces that fit our tastes. Highly recommend!

Were redoing our family room which includes new carpet and lighting. Working with Mark OLeary from the flooring center on the carpeting was a pleasurable experience: he listened to our needs and made a great recommendation for the carpeting. The installation team - John & Joe were great. They were very careful when moving furniture we couldnt manage, including a television. They never stopped moving from the time they arrived and did a great job - their passion for doing the job right, and quickly amazed us.Greg Holmes from the lighting center helped us with table and floor lamps, including a special order. Greg was a real pleasure to work with. We’ll be back.
My husband and I recently had our floors redone by Adam Walczak and Anthony through Shelby Design Center in Shelby Twp. No words can describe the transformation that took place throughout my home at the hands of Adam and Anthony. It was pure perfection.They were careful, caring and hard working while in my home. They continuously cleaned up after themselves and were considerate when moving around big pieces of furniture. They took care of our home as if were their own. If anyone is looking to have their floors done, contact Shelby Design Center and request Adam and Anthony.

I ordered my wallpaper from Shelby Home Design today. Mark OLeary helped with my order. As usual Mark was so helpful, nice and patient (this is my third attempt to purchase wallpaper, previous ones were discontinued). Mark has made my redecorating process so enjoyable!! Big thumbs up to Shelby Home Design and their staff!
Had to haggle with the installer on the day of the install to get them to actually screw down the floorboards, even though I was charged $900 for the service. Dont feel like I got $900 worth of effort, I got about $200-$300. Several spots still squeaking immediately after install. EDIT TO REPLY: I offered you to come out and inspect the install, but instead you offered about 1.5% off of the total bill to get me to shut up, very generous
Excellent customer service. We were very happy with the resolution of issues we were having with our wood flooring. We worked with Tim and ordered LVP. It was installed on schedule. The installers, Adam and Anthony are phenomenal. They are knowledgeable, professional, and personable. I feel they went above and beyond the work order to make sure problems were solved. We are very pleased and will certainly be repeat customers for other areas of our home. Great regional design center for flooring, lighting, accessories etc. Most recent project - luxury vinyl plank flooring entire home. Love it! (Would never install wood again.) Selection, price, staff & install cant be beat. Tim & entire sales team excellent re product knowledge & customer service. Installers Anthony & Adam great. No chipped wall paint or mouldings when removing appliances, installing flooring etc. Clean-up on target. (Could not be happier with SDC - retired engineer, and very OCD!) Were an hour drive away, but well worth it.

We recently hired Shelby Design Center to do a large flooring project at our business and we were amazed at the quality of the workmanship and level of customer care provided - at a price that beat half a dozen competitors. Mark O’Leary was our rep and his attention to detail and customer satisfsction has been truly remarkable.Even after the job was done and he was paid in full, he went out at our request and had a lien waiver notarized (to comply with our landlord’s last minute demands) without which we would not be reimbursed. Mark went above and beyond to help us complete the project.Adam and Anthony amazed everyone with their skill and speed in laying the luxury vinyl tile, including some very tricky areas that demanded exacting skill. Still, they were in and out so fast there was minimal disruption to our customers.Honestly, we can’t recommend this company highly enough.

I purchased several new lights & lamps when I recently redecorated my home. Gregg Holmes in the lighting department is the absolute best & has a natural talent when it comes to redecorating! If I didnt find the particular item I wanted in the store he spent time going through catalogs to help me find the exact light I was looking for. Id never considering going anywhere else for lighting fixtures in the future. Highly recommend!
My family had our dining room and Great Room done in Core Tec (Expresso) in October 2016. I did not want to post a review right away as I did not know how the product would hold up. We LOVE IT! It is SUPER easy to clean and looks like the day it was installed over 1 ½ years later. We love it so much that we just had the same product laid in our master bedroom and office. With three cats the cleanup is amazing!

We shopped 3 stores . I have to say Shelby design center made life simple. Its nice to see businessthats listens and keeps their promise . Quality is excellent so is the inventory. We were referred by 2 different people glad we listened . A bit of a drive from Grosse Pointe Shores it was worth it..
This place is very customer oriented. I had 2-3 fans that had some quality issues and they took care of them with no questions asked. They had the electrician come to my house 3-4 times to find the problem, remove the fans, and install the new ones at no charge to me. They are truly a customer focused company and I highly recommend them to anyone. Keep up the great work.
Mike helped me with lights during our home remodel. He was patient while I sorted through options for a chandelier for over the kitchen table, 2 pendant lights for the island, the entrance way light, a wall sconce, 2 lights for the laundry room and hallway lighting. I would recommend that you call Mike if you are looking for lighting. Very thorough, patient, and professional!

2021-11-29Shelby Design Center was a pleasure to work with. They were on time, they did absolute quality work. Noe and his father were so courteous, helpful, and quick in getting our carpet laid. We appreciated being in the loop and notified when the start time had to be pushed back a couple of hours. Both my husband and I remarked to one another that that courtesy usually gets missed nowadays, so it was much appreciated. We will definitely use them again, and highly recommend them.

2020-11-08We have dealt with Mark at Shelby Design Center for our family room and dining room floors. So, we were eager to work with Mark again for our kitchen, hall, laundry, and 1/2 bath floor. We met with Mark a couple of times at the store. He covered all the details of what, how, and when all would be done. We took several samples home to make our final flooring choice. On the day of installation Adam and Anthony showed up at 9am sharp, just as they said they would. They worked non stop from 9am to 5pm for 2 days to get the floor installed. Anybody who owns a house knows no wall in the house is perfectly square. I was concerned that this would be issue with the vinyl plank floor not being parallel with the wall. I dont how Adam and Anthony did it but, where the planks were parallel with a wall they were PERFECT! The attention to the detail of cutting the door jambs, stair nose, and overall installation was outstanding. At the end of each day the they cleaned up so we could still make use of the kitchen. What made the experience even better is that they were friendly, knowledgeable, and explained exactly what they were going to do. I couldnt be happier with the crew at Shelby Design Center.... 2021-09-15We had new flooring installed yesterday in dining room, kitchen, hallways and laundry room. We are extremely pleased with the professional job that was done. Adam and Anthony made our place look absolutely fabulous. They made sure everything was done 100% perfect. They even moved our furniture back into place. The left our home and garage cleaner than it was when they came. Adam even made sure our dryer vent was safe and informed of a possible issue with a copper pipe in the basement. We highly recommend this company if you want perfection and TLC with your home. We felt confidence with this company from the moment we walked into the store. Our salesman Tim was very professional as well.

2018-04-01We had a great experience using Shelby Design Center for our recent basement remodel. Corinne was our salesman and couldnt have been more knowledgeable, helpful and polite. We purchased our flooring, dry bar backsplash and bar tables and stools from SDC. We also used Corinne for basic room design ideas, like color scheme and room/furniture layout and other general design ideas. Corinne made sure we knew of all of our options and actually steered us to our favorite flooring option, which happened to be on sale! We loved our MSU bar tables and stools so much, we ended up buying a set of 2/6. The store really provides for a good visual of all of your options. We will definitely be going back when its time to do our next remodel!

2018-11-14I purchased a large foyer chandelier from Lighting One and my salesman was Mike. I must say that it is a rarity these days to find a store and staff that actually communicate and genuinely care about what they do. That being said Mike and the rest of his staff was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond for me. I would definitely recommend this place to others and hope you have a great experience!
