Terrible! Who charges 20$ for a simple tire plug? Never again! Didn’t even tell me the price before hand, I would have left and went elsewhere!
Brought my car in for a repair and had them check my tires because I kept getting low tire pressure. When I picked up my car they said they fixed the issue and patched the tire that was causing the issue. Barely a few days later that tire is already going flat and not holding air. So apparently they will charge you for services that they do not even complete.
We just had a great experience at Sheldon Auto Service. We needed a turn signal replaced on our car and we were completely unsuccessful attempting to do ourselves. We called Sheldon Auto Repair and then got us in the next morning. They were very friendly and so reasonable. It was done in a few hours and I cannot say enough good about the experience. Thank you!
I had a great experience here. My wheel lug nut snapped while changing the tires. They went the extra mile to get this fixed without damaging the wheel itself.I received regular calls and knew when my car would be ready. I would highly recommend this place.

I have taken many cars there over the years to this place. I am part of an organization that donates cars to women in crisis so before we donate the car we make sure it is safe and in good shape. I take all these to Sheldon Auto and I also take mine and my friends cars there. I choose to come here because these people are honest. They will never charge you for something you dont need. They will never trick you into repairs that are not needed and they are very kind and good good people. They stand behind their work and if there are any mistakes they will fix the problem, they are very responsible. Thank you Sheldon Auto
It was a bad snow storm and my car broke down I was able to get in and they fixed my car and didnt charge me too much I appreciate the empathy that they gave me also as I was very upset great great service
We always get our cars serviced here. Wanted to leave reviews here but always forgot. Finally got to leave a review as these guys deserve a full 5 star rating. Have been my go to service place for oil change, tires and everything else.Great place, great service, they take care of every little thing. Never had any issues after the service. We take long trips often and have had no issues on the road.These guys go above and beyond all the time.
Be careful and think before you go to this place because i just has worst experience of my life. one of the tire of my car was losing air slowly like in 3 weeks i would get low air lamp sign. the shop mechanic checked and told to me that you need to replace air valve plus TPMS sensor. Charged me $91. but same day i got TPMS error. after 3 weeks same tire was low in pressure again. i took the car back to shop after checking now they are saying there is nail on the side of tire and can not be fixed. My point is they will trick you smartly. NOT Honest people and will lie to you one after another. Now i have two problem Low air in tire and TPMS dont work anymore after paying $91.

TLDR Summary at the endJuly 2019 I had the shocks and struts on my Toyota Camry replaced with aftermarket parts. I was extremely unsatisfied with how my car felt afterward and when I mentioned it, I was told the stiffness was normal and would fade.Time passed and I grudgingly accepted it.Recently I had the same thing done to my other Toyota and had genuine Toyota Parts used and the difference was drastic. There was zero stiffness.So I wrote a review that has since been deleted. The owner called me directly and said he wanted to make it right.I decided to give him a chance and he REALLY did make it right. He replaced the shocks and struts again at no cost to me and the ride is drastically improved.If you have an issue with work done by this company, they WILL do what they can to make it right if you give them a chance. We really appreciate them and all their hard work.We highly recommend them and will continue to give them our business.TLDR: we were not happy with the work done on our car and they asked to make it right. We let them and they did! If you aren’t happy, they will try to fix it!!!

I have NEVER been disappointed with the speed - quality - friendliness and convince of Sheldon Road Auto Service. Moreover, I genuinely trust the staff. Theyve explained what needed to be serviced and what didnt even when I expected a component would need to be replaced. Their willingness to openly communicate that what I originally went in for wasnt in need of repair proved to me they were truthful and forthcoming. That is worth making them my go-to service provider from now on out!Prices are competitive and service has always been quick. Alright, so First time in Canton, MI and my car has a flat. Drive 8 hours plus and have to go back the next day. Called several places in the area but kept getting same answer, “sorry can’t do it today”. After a while I contacted Sheldon Road service and spoke to Bob, he said to come in ASAP cause they are closing in an hour, and he will have someone look at it. Dropped everything, ran to the store, and met Bob. Pretty cool guy btw, had me pull up my car right away and few guys starting working on it. Within about 15 minutes they removed a decent size nail outta my tire, patched it up, and car is ready to go. This was already unbelievable, then Bob tells me he is not charging me anything for repairs.I’m not writing because I got free service, just wanted to give a shout to the amazing and professional service I received. If I am ever in the area, these guys are my first and only stop. Thank you guys, keep up the good work!

Ive been bringing my vehicles here for years. Clean showroom so my wife has no problem waiting there for oil changes and tire rotations. The mechanics really know their stuff and the counter guys are knowledgeable, friendly and honest. They have good prices on tires and offer a lot of brands to choose from as well. Ive since moved to Farmington Hills, but I still drive out to Canton to get my cars worked on by these guys I highly recommend Sheldon road Auto. I love that its a family business too.
I visited Sheldon Road Auto Service after my car started shaking while driving down the highway. I called at the beginning of business hours to see if I could get in and they told me to stop on by - a major bonus as sometimes places want you to make appointments. I came in and was greeted by Bob, who quickly gathered my information and had my car off into the hands of his mechanics. After a test drive, inspection of my struts and tie rods, and a balance check on my wheels, they determined I had a very bent front rim and some unbalanced wheels. They fixed the balance and rotated the bent rim to the back of the vehicle, where it would be less noticeable until I get a new rim.They were very quick with their work - this whole process took about an hour.Im disheartened to see the poor reviews on here. When I entered the shop this morning, there was a disgruntled man there getting his car fixed. I wont pretend to know the whole situation, but it seemed like Bob was doing everything in his power to apologize and make things right, including waving costs for the job. This to me seems like a shop that is out to make customers happy, not one that wants to take your money and run as some of the reviews indicated.I will definitely be bringing my car back here for any future service needs. They readily answered all of my questions and trusted my opinion of how the car was behaving since Im the daily driver. Sometimes shops give me the brush off because Im a female and they think I cant possibly know whats going on with my car, but these gentlemen did not do that.
So honest and helpful. I had a leak in my tire and needed to make a 4 hour round trip that same day. I ended up needing a new tire that they did not have in stock.They offered to order it & have it ready in a few hours, but because I needed it ASAP, I had to go elsewhere. They put on the spare tire, and were so helpful and understanding. They didn’t even change for the diagnostic.We would return there in a heartbeat.

First rate customer service. They give you a realistic options when fixing your vehicle and are very honest. I have been doing business with them for over 15 years and drive from Detroit for all my vehicle repairs, oil changes, new tires, etc.
Excellent customer service! My elderly vehicle needed emergency service after losing power and stalling, nearly leaving me stranded in not the best part of Detroit. They calmed my anxiety, drove me to work, called me with the diagnosis and had it ready for me at the end of my work day. Even though it was later than their closing time - I found two others waiting for their own vehicles. They even worked with me to keep the cost down on this unexpected but necessary expense. Thank you Bob and Daryl for getting me safely back on the road!
My go-to spot for car repairs in the area. They have always treated me with respect and professionalism and certainly took good car of several of my vehicles over the years. One of the few auto shops, I trust and wouldnt hesitate to recommend. Family-owned and operated which is always a plus!!
Work done on 1993 F150:Radiator Replacement (including coolant flush obviously and new thermostat)Front Fuel Tank + Pump/Valve AssemblyRear Drums/ShoesFront Rotors/PadsRear ShocksPros:Everything done same day. I was very surprised what they were able to accomplish in a day when dropping my truck off in the morning.Very friendly - didnt feel rushed or pushed out, willing to answer questions.Willing to fix problems related to the work performedReasonable pricing (but see Cons:)Cons:Noticed a few days after paying that I was charged $100 labor for a thermostat replacement on top of the labor charged for the radiator replacement. For anyone who might not know: if the radiator is literally not attached to the vehicle, the coolant is obviously drained and swapping the thermostat takes 3 screws, a new gasket, and 60 seconds. I am assuming I was just charged the standard price for that service, but I should have caught and challenged this when I paid (but missed it then). I do have to say the prices were reasonable even with the additional labor; Im not looking to get the $100 back, I paid it, but wanted to include that I was double-charged.Overall if I have any additional work that needs done I would go back to Sheldon Road Auto. But I am going to double check the bill before paying in the future.EDIT-2: Changed review to 5 stars after company response; removed some wording; removed reference to radiator leak.
Was visiting from Ohio and ran over something that caused 2 flat tires on my passenger side. I am a single woman so was really scared they would try to take advantage of the situation. These gentlemen were great, they fixed both tires and sent me on my way. They were courteous, professional, and great to work with! If I was in the market for tires and good customer service I would definitely buy them here.
I recently went to Sheldon Road Auto as my check engine light was on, they diagnosed it as needing a tune-up. Well the next day the light was back on so I took it back and they looked at it again and found another problem that they could not address. They apologized for the inconvenience and gave me a full refund and a recommendation to a dealership for the repair. Greta guys and better work! Thank you!!!

These guys offered a good deal on an oil change.The customer service was great.While they did try to up sell a few products, it didnt seem they were out to get you.In fact, while I was waiting, I couldnt help overhearing a conversation between an employee at the counter with an elderly couple. Basically the young man was telling this couple that they already had paid and no additional charges were made or required.^The honesty was appreciated and it appeared this elderly couple was well taken care of.A plus was that the shopping center nearby was close enough to walk to, and I was able to get a haircut while waiting for the oil to be changed (and tires rotated, which was included).

Very Poor customer service, initially told me that it will take couple of hours to get my car done and then after waiting for two hours they told me that they are not even sure they will will be able to do it for the day. Complete waste and hopeless
Arrived at midnight to Detroit Metro Airport where my car had a flat tire. I mean it was down to the rim. After being stuck in the airport for hours trying to get AAA in the sturcture to change my tire. I was exhausted and got home about 2am. After dropping the kids off to school I googled a tire shop in canton and the first location that came up was Firestone. I went there and of course the lady at the counter advised that it will not be until after 1pm they can even look at my car. I googled another tire repair shop close by and Sheldon Road Auto Service Came up and they were just about to open at 7:30 AM. I was the very first customer there. I hate that I do not remember the name of the Gentlemen that assisted me but he was so NICE. First off not only did he have time to look at my flat tire. He showed me where the nail was. Plugged the tire. Advised me that I need my front sturts done before I get a new set of tires this winter. He also went out of his way to put a quote together for me. He did not charge me to plug my tire. I was so thankful for him. I was ready to pay. Not only was he pleasent but he had me in and out of there in a hour so I can pick my daughter up from school for a doctors appointment. I will be back.. Service was great. Thank you so much. Having just recently moved to Canton within the past year I was hoping to find a trustworthy and cost effective facility to perform some service work on my daily driver 2000 Taurus. I reviewed the good & bad with the help of Google reviews and the recent reviews for this facility were comforting. Most people who take their vehicles to a shop deal with the fear of being taken advantage of and my concerns are no different than anybody elses - and thats what led me to Sheldon Road Auto Service. The group is personable enough and very polite to deal with and appeared to be giving me a bargain on the cost of replacing the two rear struts on my car. However, after driving the car for about a month after the repairs I felt I need to share the experience. I spent roughly 2.5 hours waiting for my repairs to be done (which is ok) but after comparing the actual cost of the items (eco-matic struts and two sway bar end links) which equates to about 150 dollars, I was charged just under 500 dollars. Pretty stark contrast to the glowing reviews that had me trying this place out as a new repair facility. One of the things I noticed is a huge row of cars that are lined up on the north side of the facility & it initially occurred to me this may take a while as they appeared really busy but in retrospect there were only about 5-6 people that came in for work for the 2.5 hours I was there on that Saturday morning. The cars werent being worked on while I was there and I kind of think they are just staged there to make the place look busy. The two individuals I spoke to while waiting said they had really great repeat business with very competitive pricing and no negative complaints about the work or cost. Maybe its just me-but paying more than twice the cost for work I could have done is most likely whats fueling my need to write this. Like all business propositions, one needs to be aware of the actual cost of prices and labor costs before paying for the service so this is just my experience shared. Good Luck!

I would give zero stars if I could I called first thing this morning and a gentleman told me they could get me in at noon and I told him I would be there. I went in, they asked me how they can help me, I told them that I needed my tires changed. He said it would be a few hours at least.I told him that someone said they could get me in at noon. And that’s why I was here at noon. However they didn’t change anything so I’m taking my business elsewhere! And I will not be returning.The old man behind the counter said “good luck” when I said I was going somewhere else.I’ll wait a year before I give them my business.I’m Assuming this is the same rude old man others have talked about.

I live in Madison Heights. Yes it is a bit of a drive to get to them but these guys are the most honest and the best mechanics around town. These few negative reviews must be from people that have a lot of personal issues and seem to take it out on Bob and his crew. Never had a problem with them. They dont sell you stuff you dont need.

Took my car there and I was greated by this friendly, yet handsome worker. His name was Chapo and he answered all of my questions. He explained clearly what my car needed and even gave me the cheapest options! Did I mention he was very handsome and cute? Had a really disappointing experience here. Ill try to keep this short: I bought my vehicle from a friend of the family who was a long time customer at Sheldon Road Auto Service. Right before I purchased the vehicle this gentleman had new tires put on at SRAS. I purchase the vehicle in November, seven months later I return to SRAS to have the tires rotated. The service reps said they knew the previous owner of the vehicle and would gladly do the rotation at no charge since the tires were purchased there.I get a call from the service rep saying that they are unable to remove the hubcaps. I say, this cant be right, you guys are the ones who put the tires on, surely you can get them off. I am told that the plastic lugnut covers/chrome caps are on too tight and the only way to get them off will be by breaking the hubcaps. I am understandably confused. I ask if the service rep and I can speak to the mechanic who did the original works, to which the service rep says, well, hell just say he did it by hand. I am also told that since it has been seven months since the tires were installed theres not a whole lot they can do to remedy the situation.Why would seven months between an installation and a tire rotation have any bearing on their ability to provide me a service (or good customer service for that matter)? I spell out one last time that if they are the ones who put the tires on, then they are the ones who are responsible for having over-tightened these lugnut covers, to which I am told again that they would have done it by hand. So I ask if the implication is then that I am the one who took a torque wrench, impact gun, whatever, and over-tightened them. He again insists they would have done it by hand and lastly tells me we cant really help you man, sorry.On a sidenote, I had a neighbor who works out of his garage take the hubcaps off with no damage to the hubcaps, and minor damage to the lugnut covers. Interesting that a full auto service shop was not able to accomplish this, but Im guessing since the rotation was to be performed at no charge, they deemed the effort (to repair their mistake) was not worth it.I have a hard time believing the previous owner would have been treated in this manner, but regardless, I would not recommend this place if you have other options in the area. Im sure they do decent work and there are positive customer reviews, but experiences like this should factor in when youre choosing where to have work done on your vehicle. If you were weighing Sheldon Road Auto Service against another auto shop maybe this review will be helpful for you.
They take great care is my car every time
Horrible Experience! Paid over $300 for two sensors and they had the nerve to give me my car back with the exact same problem as when I went in. This is after calling me and telling me it was fixed! Car sluggish and sputtering with engine light on! They needed to explain to me beforehand that if PCM was bad the $300 for the two sensors would do no good. I would have not have risked $300 and declined repair! So, of course, now they say I MAY need a new PCM. All I got from the owner was this is a tough one! Yeah, tough for me cause Im out $300 and in the exact same position as when I came in. Avoid at all costs!

Horrible customer service! The older guy working there is super rude and not professional. Go there just before lunch, they tell me to come back an hour later after the crew is back (no problem)... I go back there an hour later they say they cant do the car because they have to many cars in front of me before closing. Horrible!!I call back the next day to check wait time, the guy is so rude on the phone and then refuses to use the coupon which 2 months before the expiration date. Says the coupons shouldnt of went out. Worst place to go for any service.Worst customer service ever. Dont go here

Took my car in due to a loud creaking noise during turning. They told me it was due to the struts and sway bar links so I had them replaced. Total bill was over $1000. Got the car back and the issue is STILL THERE. Dont trust these morons.

So after reading the outstanding reviews for this shop, I visited and asked for the number of Chapo. I am highly disappointed to report that he is no longer giving out his number due to him being in a relationship. I feel that it is false advertisement that they have not taken down the review for Chapo before, which states that he is giving the number out. Very angry.
Had tires replaced. They pointed out some issues with my shocks, but werent pushy about fixing them. Very refreshing.

First time I went here and was very impressed by the politeness and professionalism of the staff. I felt they were knowledgeable and offered straightforward service.
Hidden gem! I was able to drop off my car at 10:30 am, have my front and back brakes worked on, have a faulty ignition coil fixed, and picked it up by 5:30! I was definitely planning on being without a car for a few days so this was a pleasant surprise! The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was very informative about what my car needed but was not pushy about adding extra, unnecessary things on. He was transparent with me about what should get fixed right away and what could wait (as long as I took care of it sooner rather than later). I spent more than Ive put into that car in a while but honestly it was so worth it. Great service all around and I will be telling everyone to take their cars there!

2022-01-18This is the only shop I will use now. They do great work and are very trustworthy. I took it in for a rim leak that another shop tried to fix and they fixed it no problem and same day. This shop also took care of my check engine light its a great all around shop. They have done a great job every time I take my car in.

2022-01-22The other reviews tell the whole story. But, here is mine. This place is the classic under promise - over deliver. The name fits. Simple and straightforward. No glitz or glam. Just service.My daughters car had a slow leak in one of the tires. And to my shame, I called the place that advertises the most. Fortunately, they didnt answer. Then I checked their reviews and took the advice of one of the poor souls who used them for service and looked elsewhere.Finding Sheldon Road Auto Service on google turned out to be like finding an extra $20 in my pocket I didnt know I had. They answered immediately and the girl stated that they could indeed perform the service requested, but recommended dropping the vehicle off stating the repair would be done by mid afternoon.We talked to Ishmael who took the needed information and then went to breakfast. Within a few hours the repair was complete and they gave us a free tire rotation(we didnt buy our tires there). Ishmael also did the work. During our checkout he was upbeat and engaging. The $20.30 we paid for service almost made me feel like I was accepting charity.We already have a great mechanic, but he is always busy. So Sheldon Road Auto will complement him nicely. Am thankful that there are still businesses like this where I am treated like an individual and not another sale.

2022-01-21I have used this business for my 2011 Scion tC twice, after reading other reviews, I find it hard to believe anyone would be turned away or treated poorly. I took my constantly deflating tire into my Toyota dealership 3 times, each time after the tire would be deflated within 2 days. After weeks, I gave up on my own dealership to go to Sheldon Road Auto - 40 minutes out of my way. The professionalism I was given from Bob and his team was top notch... if there were more stars to give, I would give them all!

2022-01-10I had bent my rim and brought it here to be fixed. They handled sending it out and having it ready for me. A week later there was an issue with the tire. They were really helpful and apologetic, things happen! I would recommend them to a friend and be going back if I need to in the future!

The mechanic/tech explained everything he did and why he needed to do it, and even taught me a few things about my car and how to make use some of the smart features it has. The owner personally rang me up and made sure I was satisfied with the service. Definitely going back for future needs.

2021-12-21I was taking my car to another garage in the area and they told me I needed something done on my car with a pretty high quote. Some family friends told me to call some other garages to verify, so I called Sheldon Auto Service. Not only was their quote 1/2 the price of the other garage when I brought my car into have it fixed they found there was no issue with my car in the first place. Instead of fixing something that wasnt broken they gave me my car back at no charge. I have now brought my car back for some maintenance items and they have done a great job and in a timely manner. This is the only place I will be brining my car to in the future.

2021-11-15So I’ve been going to Sheldon Road for a number of years and have always received excellent service. I recently had some routine work done, and it was not up to my extremely high standards (I work in Quality). The team stepped up. I got a personal call from Bob, the owner, who was apologetic, very professional, and takes the work seriously and personally. After the repair, he offered to deliver my vehicle to me with the words “Hey, this is on us, I’ll do anything for you.” The guys delivering my truck startled the heck out of my wife, who was also impressed with their commitment to do what’s right. It’s great to find integrity in a business. I’m a customer for life.
