We have a very old table top Pendulum Clock brought over from Europe in the 40s. Has a lot of sentimental value as well as being artistically designed.Ken knew immediately where the clock was made and after taking apart the clock in less than 10 minutes as I observed ,he told me exactly what the problem was. Repaired it in a week and his price was fair and well worth it. Also has a number of interesting Clocks for sale. He is my guy!

We have both had a click repaired by Ken and purchased a grandfather clock from him. The repair was done quickly and affordable with a high level of quality. I also could not be happier with the clock we purchased. Prior to delivery Ken completely disassembled and cleaned the clock, he then delivered it to our home and set it up. Over one year following purchase the clock continues to amaze me, at the end of the wind (7-8 days) the clock is spot on. I have yet to make any adjustments beyond the initial setup. Very professional! I was impressed with Ken’s thoroughness and knowledge of the specific features of our clock. When picking up the clock, Ken offered suggestions on care and reviewed the proper operation of the clock.We’ve previously had our clocks serviced at another, well known local clock shop, but usually had to return a few days later to fix this or that which left me with an uneasy feeling. Ken came out to my house to service my dads grandfather clock. He meticulously took apart, cleaned, oiled and reassembled the entire clock and made sure it was all in working order. He reinstalled the weights and set everything and then took the time to explain how all of the features of the clock work and answer all of my questions. He was quick, thorough, professional and friendly. He made sure to note what was done and leave me with his contact info for future service needs as well. I would not hesitate to recommend Shores Clock Shop and Ken for any clock needs.
My husband and I hadnt operated our Herman Miller grandfather clock for several years and stopped by the Shores Clock Shop unannounced. We explained to Ken that we wanted to get it operational again. Ken was able to pencil us in for a next-day appointment.Ken took really good time and care to check, oil, and repair all aspects of our grandfather clock. As he work on our clock, he explained the history of the clock and then gave us a tutorial on how to properly operate the clock. Great home service! Ken is very knowledgeable and professional. My Grandmother clock was repaired, oiled and set at my home. The moon phase gear was misaligned, the hours wouldnt chime and a piece of the pendulum arm was broken. Ken replaced the broken arm piece, aligned the moon phase gears, realigned the hammers and hands, oiled and greased all gears and now its like new. I highly recommend this shop and cant say enough about Ken. I recently moved here from California and will always request Ken in the future. He did far more than whats above including removing two brackets that werent used by the mechanism that was installed 10 years ago and removed four arms on the mechanism that arent used for mounting it in my Trend Clock. All six items were just dangling inside with no function.

We had an antique wall clock that survived the Sanford Dam flood. It had been submersed in water for 24 hrs or so. We took it to another clock shop where they were unable to repair it. We found Shore Clock Shop and Ken, the owner, was able to repair it. It still doesn’t chime on the hour, but Ken searched for and is continuing to search for the part needed. We are so thankful for the work Ken did and would highly recommend Shores Clock Shop.
Walked in with a Howard Miller Regulator wall clock that I acquired from my parents. It needed some TLC and no longer chimed. Ken was extremely nice & professional. He quickly diagnosed the problems and was able to repair using spare parts, saving me a few bucks. He cleaned, oiled, and tested in just a few days. Had it in perfect working order for a very reasonably price and warranted his work! Ken also gave us a very thorough run down on setup and operation which was extremely helpful. He has some great looking pieces for sale in the store too. I would highly recommend Shores Clock Shop to anyone needing clock sevices and I will most definitely be returning in the future.
Excellent service. A Grand father clock that was passed on to me from family. One it hadnt ran in years and Two I didnt know what I was doing and accidentally bent the part that moves pendulum when trying to reattach it. Ken was able to bend it back into place without selling me a new part. Also took the parts out and oiled it everything. Sure enough its running well now and keeps good time. He also was able to explain everything this clock does to me and how to maintain this clock for years.
Our grandfather clock was not chiming and had not been serviced in probably 10 years. Ken came in and took the clock apart cleaned and oiled the clock and within 45 minutes had the clock running and chiming like it was brand new. His work was swift, precise and neat. Not only that, his price for this home visit was fair. I would recommend his services to anyone with confidence he will do a great job.
We have an old brass mantel pendulum clock whose chime had turned to a clunk, and which kept time only in an idiosyncratic way.Ken not only got it running, but the chime sounds better than I remember its ever sounding. Further, he was very careful not to polish away the age of the case - its a beautiful _old_ clock; it still looks it, and it works a treat. Ken is great.
Delivered as promised. Straightforward and honest. Rebuilt a 25 year old Howard Miller floor clock movement/mechanism that had not been serviced and maintained as it should have been over the life of the clock and all the years we owned it. It now runs flawlessly again.Ken is fair, honest, and knowledgeable . He knows his stuff when it comes to taking care of these delicate and intricate pieces of machinery. In this day and age service and repair of these kinds of mechanical clocks is somewhat of a dying art. You can rest assured this man will do a fine job for you. My 80 year old neighbor needed help to get two very special clocks repaired. Upon visiting a store who sells Howard Miller clocks, we found they do not repair. They recommended Shores Clock Shop. We brought the clock to Ken and he was able to quote a reasonable price to repair the Howard Miller wall clock. We showed him the broken mechanism for the second clock. He told us to bring in that clock and he would replace it while we waited to avoid a third half hour trip. Quality, friendly, reasonable, warranted,expert service! My neighbor and I highly recommend!
I have a large wall clock that stopped working, I went to the Clock Shop, talked to Ken, the owner and made an appointment for him to come to my home and give me a quote for repairs. Ken is very professional and really knows about clocks. He had to take the internal parts of the clock to his shop to do the repairs and what a beautiful job he did. Our beautiful grandfather clock stopped working. We called Shores Clock Shop. Ken was at our house in no time. He was very punctual and professional. He diagnosed the problem. Our clock needed a thorough cleaning and lubricating - something we havent done in 30 years. It needed a couple of bushings too. Highly recommend if you need a clock repaired. He serviced our Grandfather clock that we bought in Germany when I was stationed there. I just took him a walk clock that belonged to my wifes grandmother. It was given to my wife after her grandmother passed a fee years ago and the clock had not worked in over 30 years. I took it in and he assured me that he could fix it and he fixed it. Clock is working and it chimes. The best Mothers Day surprise I have given my wife in a long time. Thank you Ken!!

I had Ken out to fix a grandfather clock that was handed down through my wifes family. The clock hadnt worked in years. Ken came right to the house and worked on it. After a few days it stopped working. I called Ken up and he was back out within 24 hours. In normal circumstances he would have taken the clock into the shop to repair it, but because he knew I wanted to surprise my wife the following day, he completely stripped the clockworks right there in my living room and made adjustments, all within an hour. Ken called me as soon as he received the letter from the Company I ordered my clock from before it was delivered and explained to me that he would be the one to set it up for me. Once the clock was delivered, I called him and set the appointment up , he explained how the clock works in great detail. He also gave me good advice on maintenance of the clock and how to trouble shoot. He is highly recommended.
Took Ken a family mantle clock, early 1900s, in storage for years. He is an expert who did a wonderful job. The treasured clock is now running like new. He gave clear, specific instructions on the chimes and setting the clock. His fine work is much appreciated and highly recommended.
If I could give 6 stars I would. I took a treasured wall clock to get fixed. They fixed it and there was a slight issue with it when we put it back on the wall. I called and the owner told me to bring it back. Ken kept it for another week and monitored it daily and made slight adjustments. It now works better than ever. Took another neglected grandfather type wall clock to him and its now running like it was brand new. Exquisite customer service and attention to detail that is sorely lacking from most clock shops these days. Excellent excellent. I have a 200-year old French clock that hasnt been running for maybe 40 years. Ken, with his infinite well of patience and extraordinary skill, got it running again. My father fixed clocks for a living. Id say Ken is in the same league with my father, which I never thought Id see.

The shop has plenty of unusual clocks to look at for purchase, and the owner is knowledgeable about fixing watches and clocks. It’s a great find!

My antique “eight day” New Haven mantle clock was mechanically getting worse. I had it fixed a number of years ago, but those repairs failed. Every closck repair shop I have spoken with complained that New Haven’s were difficult to work on etc. Shores was forthright and told me that the clock needed to be rebuilt. The price was reasonable and the work was completed when I was told it would be! Highly recommend this shop!
We recieved our Howard Miller clock as a gift 20 yrs ago and it is very important to us. I tried another shop and they couldnt fix it. We googled a howard miller repair service and the Clock shop popped up and they had our clock for two days and it is good as new and we got a year warranty besides. I took a family clock (100 years old) to Ken that has not worked in decades. Other shops did not want to touch it. Ken carefully explained to me what the problem was, what it would take to fix it and then did it masterfully. I have the clock at home now and it is working beautifully.

Inspected and removed grandfather clock mechanismOiled greased and explained everything he was doing and how to maintain clock.Verry reasonable price .Other clock shop in Troy wanted 50 dollars just to make appt .and couldnt give me even a cleaning price . I first took a 1960s German cuckoo clock for repair to working condition. Ken explained the option to either rebuild or replace the clock mechanism which failed due to age. I chose the replacement option since both the clock and the weighted chain system were worn out. He did a great job and provided a 2 year warranty on his work. I then took a chime clock to Ken for repair which was estimated to be 30-40 years old. Once again, Ken explained why the clock stopped working and offered a repair or replacement option. This time I chose the repair option. Once again Ken did a terrific job and the clock is working well. This repair also has a 2 year warranty on his work. Ken is very knowledgeable and takes great personal pride in his work. I trust Ken and highly recommend Shores Clock Shop. Thanks for the great work Ken.

2022-01-06We acquired a late 1800s long case grandfather clock and was looking to find someone local to go through it and get it working. Ken did a excellent job of replacing the warn out parts, ordered period correct hands and even made the calendar hand to match. In less time than most other places (under 5 weeks) he brought it to our house and even set it up to work properly. Everything is working as it should and keeps great time considering its over 130 years old. Thanks Ken for everything. If youre looking for a mechanical clock guy, this is the place to go. Highly recommend him.

2022-07-12Ken arrived on time and quickly alleviated my anxiety about hiring a professional who was new to me. He was here to see if the grandfather clock which I had inherited could be repaired. As he took the clock apart he explained what he was doing, and then clearly told me my three options for repair. Within an hour, Ken had the clock running, and those beautiful chimes working. 2022-05-05I have a clock the has a rocking penglym. It stopped rocking several years ago. I have taken it to 2 other clock shops and was told both times it couldnt be fixed. As a last effort I took it to him. He knew exactly what was wrong and didnt guarantee he could get it going. It is rocking gentle on my shelf right now. I couldnt be more pleased THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

2022-06-17I brought my late grandmothers broken mantel clock to Ken. In a week not only was it fixed but Ken also made a key and explained how to operate it. I would recommend Ken to anyone who needs a clock fixed.
