This was my first visit to Simit House Turkish bakery and I will surely return. The owner is charming and when he learned that I was interested in Turkey he regaled me with stories. All of the baked goods looked wonderful and I got some borek, savory pastries filled with things like spinach, potatoes, cheese, or meat. These are for dinner so I havent actually tried anyting Simit House, but Im positive its going to be delicious. There are also some packaged goods available for sale and I bought some cocoa halva. If you want a snack, there is a sitting area and the owner will warm up your pastry of choice for you.
We are from Turkey and we’ve been looking for a Turkish bakery since we moved to Michigan. This place is like heaven for us. We tried their cheese and spinach pies and cig kofte and they are all amazing. We also bought simit to keep in the freezer. Would definitely come back.
Not surprised by the 5 star reviews! I’ve ordered from here through door dash about 4 times now. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy it! The kaymak which I drizzle with honey is so good. I love their crispy breads with spinach, potato, cheese..... Also love the pide. I get the minis with meat. Such a nice breakfast with coffee. I always have leftovers to eat throughout the day. Love this place! I need to make a trip up there to see what I might be missing ordering only through door dash!!
This is more of a bakery of savory goods. Not many options for sweet stuff when I went.Very clean place. I ordered an assortment of things, and I was impressed.Well made, quality ingredients...true craftsmanship - everything looked beautiful and tasted even better. Very fresh...everything was light, airy, and delicious.I had the cheese burek, the spinach burek, the cheese bread, and the sesame bread crowns ( my name for it, not theirs). I also had a Turkish coffee - a tiny cup of heaven. They also carry a clotted cream that I call gaimur, which is delicious to take home and serve topped with honey, and eaten with pita bread.I wasnt impressed by the muffins. They were a bit dry, some could argue they were made the European way (dry and meant to be had with coffee or tea). I will not discount them for it- serves me right for ordering a blueberry muffin from an ethnic bakery...american pastries are not their wheelhouse. The pricing was a bit higher than I am accustom to, or what I expected...but its also a lot better quality than other middle eastern bakeries around here.Overall...very impressed. I will be a regular here. This bakery is a wonderful addition to our community, and I hope they prosper here.
Amazing! Their long pides are very delicious! Those you would need to order ahead because they do have a 10-15 min wait, so I just suggest calling ahead to place an order before coming. Their cig kofte is also my favorite, it is a bit spicy, which I love. I highly recommend this place.
I can say that everything there is good, the simit bread and ramadan bread are way to good. Borek are amazing anything I order is Soo good. And the gentleman there is way too nice excellent customer service you feel like you know him from a long time he is so friendly

2022-02-06DELICIOUS..!!I love Turkish pastries and foods and I had no idea this place was only a few minutes away from my house.I’ve been in Istanbul once and almost tried everything there and everything in Simit house tasted as great as the ones in Istanbul. The place is really tiny and cute. It is decorated properly. There are a few tables which you can put them all together if you have more than 4 guests. We enjoyed out breakfast today.Thumbs up for this place and I highly recommend to try Simit and Turkish coffee.

2022-02-18What a delicious surprise. I had no idea that there was a Turkish bakery/cafe in our area but apparently they have been here for a couple years. The simit were delicious and filling. If you haven’t had one before they’re kind of like a bagel but less dense and crustier on the outside. They have a slightly sweet flavor from the grape molasses used to hold all the sesame seeds on the outside.I definitely will go here again.

2022-03-23Authentic and delightful. This quaint bakery in Garden City has delicious fresh pastries, both regular and sweet, a small eat in area, and Turkish tea and coffee. It also offers limited ethnic imported groceries. The staff are friendly and welcoming and aim to please. Definitely worth the trip.

2021-10-13This bakery is very cute and have very yummy options! They have alot of yummy bakery items and very yummy snacks straight from Turkey! The person working behind the counter is the only person running the shop and hes very sweet. Small space to eat the fresh items. The person working behind the counter offered to make a whole breakfast spread for us since we were the first ones there as soon as it opened up. Love this turkish bakery!
