First experience at Single Barrel was very good. Food was great, theres a wide variety of house special cocktails, a lengthy list of bouebons and the atmosphere was good. The service staff were pleasant and engaging. Overall, very enjoyable night out. Only complaint is that the food is pricey. I would definitely go back and would recommend to others.
Really tasty not sure why they dont offer bread or something for the table. Definitely get the scallops. The steak is hit and miss. Mine was a bit grisley this time. They season the sides differently every time sometimes I get garlicky mash potatoes this time they were bland. Green beans were spicy this time but usually theyre not. Idk they cant keep recipes straight.
We went out with friends on a busy Friday night and normally, I never leave a review but when service and food is exceptional!!! I should acknowledge them for a great evening!!! We had ordered the Charcuterie board to start, it was fantastic, drinks are small but great and fresh.Homemade dressings for salads awesome and the best steak I have ever had the Wagyu strip steak is a must and big enough to bring home doggy bag but way to good to share with the pups also thanks to Our server Kaila for suggestions and knowledge of menu , how everything was made and prepared, really made it a great experience!! We will come back for more
Single Barrel Social is a nice, upscale, modern feeling bar and restaurant in Brighton. The whiskey list is extensive and the prices are good. If you want rare whiskeys, they have several to choose from that are definitely hard to find elsewhere. My friend and I tried the poke app and the charcuterie, which were both excellent. Im definitely going to have to visit again and try some of the entrées.
Drinks and calamari appetizer were 10/10. However the entrees were not worth the price at all. For a steak that price, you expect very high quality meat that melts in your mouth (like at the upscale steakhouses we’ve been to), but this was very chewy and not sufficiently seasoned. Also came out way too rare the first time. The seared tuna was overcooked and resembled chicken. Rather disappointing for how expensive the entrees are. Would come back for drinks but not for dinner.
We mostly go to locally owned restaurants and Single Barrel Social never disappoints! The ambiance is perfect for a date night. The staff is always welcoming and attentive. The scallops, salads, and steaks are all delicious. They do have a great selection of bourbon, but I really love the tequila & gin cocktails. Between the food and drinks, they truly have something for everyone!
Started dining here about a month after they opened, can not say enough good things about this classy new restaurant/bar in Brighton! SBS understands the meaning of hospitality. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and work hard to take care of the guest! The menu and is unique and very approachable. The quality and *consistency of the food has been excellent every time. Its not often you can find a place that has a great atmosphere (excellent seating, lighting, decor) and get great service and great food...SBS is that place in Livingston County! Keep up the good work! ❤
Everything was pretty decent but dramatically overpriced. In this price range I am looking for some of the best food I have ever had. This isnt it. Dont get me wrong the food is good and they have a good bourbon selection (albeit over priced) but it isnt among the best restaurants I would place in this price category.
Went on Sunday for the first time. Service was 5 stars, ambience 5 stars... dinner was almost there. The tacos were hit and miss, The Steak one was delish, the pork and chorizo one was all one strong chorizo flavor and I missed the pork. The stuffed shrimp was amazing. The S’mores Sunday was a really horrible dessert to be honest. Like I like chocolate but a Sunday should have more ice cream and I don’t know when they chard the top of the marshmallow but it wasn’t any time in the hour before it was served to me. Disappointing end to a meal... luckily there were amazing drinks and service. We will be back... and just go someplace else for dessert after 😉.
Great selection of Bourbons. Was just oo for the Rum selection. Text Mex style foods. The appetizer tower is a little expensive but is tasty! And good for 3 to 4 people. Could use a cpl more Cabernet options! We enjoyed it and we will be back soon with more friends! Will be excited to see he entertainment options at night!
Our first time here. Chelsea was our server. She did a phenomenal job, as there was a table of 8 of us.She did a great job getting what what we needed and when. Timing for our appetizers and our entrees were great.Pro tip: get the bourbon flight.Their hand crafted cocktails were spot on,I had 3 different tacos, and the scallop chowder. My wife got the lamb tips and the best and whipped feta salad. The lamb tips come with white bean hummus! It was DELICIOUS!The next time we are in Brighton, we will be stopping by!
Went here recently with a not so easy group of people. There were some legit complaints but things were not easy on our poor waitress. Chelsea kept her cool and was outstanding!! I know waiting tables is hard and you handled it like a champ! For me, the food and drinks were great as usual! Had appetizers and dinner and everything was amazing!
Very nice place, really nice to spend an evening with friends and loved ones enjoying a drink and a meal. The live music was a plus. Our waitress knew the menu very well and made several drink and food recommendations that we enjoyed. Next time we will make reservations as they are busy and we will be back.
The food and cocktails were top notch! We happened upon Single Barrel by accident and were really glad we did!! We had been given a list of recommended places to eat from our hotel but they missed the just on this one- Single Barrel wasnt on there and absolutely should have been at the top of the list. Highly recommend!
Cool place first time there, just for drinks. So cant give 5 stars didnt have food. One thing drinks alittle pricey. Girl greeting us seemed a little stuffy and stand off ish. Walked in and she said you need something. Not welcoming, felt like it was a private club. Need to work on welcoming people better, bartender was welcoming.
Great atmosphere and drinks, but food wasnt what I thought it would be with all the rave reviews. Went with a group of 6, we all ordered something different, our reactions ran the gamut. Some of us were pleased, some not so much. I ordered the Aukra salmon which was fresh and cooked perfectly. However, no broccolini, nothing lemony, just some greens thrown on the plate like a garnish. No whipped potatoes....just some little square pieces of potato with some sauce over the entire plate-definitely NOT what was presented on the menu. We were a little short on time, and since the salmon was so good, I didnt complain. Also, waitress was also working the bar and not very attentive. Not my only visit, and I may still go back, but will definitely say something if the food is not right. Check the menu before you go, food is not all Southwestern as they say that is their theme.
If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. We were very impressed. This was our first time there and it was beyond amazing. The food, the staff, the atmosphere.....WOW. What really blew us away was the cost. When we got our bill we expected it to be a fairly high amount with the food and the drinks, not the case at all. It was way under what we thought. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a laid back kinda place.
Went there for my bday and the atmosphere is nice and appetizers are good but everything else was pretty mediocre and below par. Entrees were very salty and my drink was ok. I would think bc youre paying so much the food would be much better but its just decent and super salty. Had the pork chop and an old fashion, in which they gave me a cinnamon infused cherry? Absolutely gross. You dont do that to an old fashion. If you go here I would just recommend just drinks and appetizers. If youre thinking its some classy entrees, be forewarned. I personally wouldnt want to come back.
Last week we stoped for a drink and we were very impressed, so we went back for dinner and it was very disappointed, very bad food and very expensive... I dont mind to spend $ but that was the worse food i had.I ate two bites and was enough to get sick .Never going back and I dont recommend it.Waitress was very nice though! Just because of that we dont complained.Place is very cool, but food isnt good.
Beautiful building for sure! It was our first time coming to this place and we were excited because it was so beautiful! Upon receiving my first drink of blackberry cider it was spilled all over my husbands jacket and all of her my pants and my purse by the waitress! Then I ordered a $30 fillet medium rare and received it medium well! I figured if I was paying $30 for a small fillet that it should be cooked correctly so I sent it back. I waited over 45 minutes for my second fillet. Everyone else that I was with was already done eating and they were already clearing their plates. Our waitress had disappeared? When somebody came and asked if we needed anything else, I explained that I was still waiting for my dinner? This was the worst dining experience that I have ever had! We quickly paid our bill and got out of there and went to another restaurant for drinks!
Great food! My husband and I both got their burger that came with fries. We both were impressed with how great the burger (and fries) were. We topped it off with some peanut butter whiskey ice cream. Yum! Due to the governor closing restaurants, we had to do pick up this time. It was easy to order on line, then texted when we got there. There was a simple line to wait in and the food was brought right the the car. We will be back! (Hopefully inside again soon)
I came in here tonight for a few drinks with a couple friends of mine tonight. The food was good, the drinks were great, and the service was awesome. We were greeted promptly by Julia who had great recommendations and an upbeat attitude. I could tell that she was smiling even under her mask. Her demeanor, speed and knowledge made tonight great. I’ll be back for more taquitos in her section.
Nice atmosphere, lovely drinks and decent service, but food left us a bit disappointed. Shrimp were overcooked and chipotle dressing had a heavy horseradish punch my friend and I found unpleasant. Also, can we talk about the menu overall? I get that its southwestern but... bourbon drinks paired with Mexican flavors? Is this really a thing? My palate is at odds with this information. We felt for the price point there are better culinary choices in the area, but if the food game improves theyll do much better. If youre after a nice aesthetic and a few cocktails, it really is gorgeous inside and worth checking out for that reason.
Had brunch there today with a nephew visiting and our kids. Loved it!! Very eclectic menu and cocktail choices which we very much enjoy, and everything had wonderful flavor. The space is small and intimate but also eclectic, hip and beautiful. But the crowning jewel was the service. Miss Chelsea was our waitress and hands down one of the friendliest servers weve had out. 100% worth asking for her if you go...a natural at making people feel at home. Thank you Chelsea and Single Barrell Social. We will be back and recommending you often!
This place is amazing. The atmosphere is beautiful, the food is delicious, the drinks are unique and super yummy, and you can really tell that everyone who works there loves their job. I had multiple servers AND managers visit our table to check on us, and everyone was very helpful and friendly. The bartenders really know their stuff as everyone agreed we were served the best Old Fashioned and Manhattan wed ever had. Theyre knocking it out of the park!
The atmosphere is very nice. The food is an embarrassment. The tortillas and salsa was terrible. The tortillas looked like they were poured from a bag onto a stained baking sheet and the salsa was awful. It lacked any seasonings at all. I ordered three different tacos and they were all disappointing. No sauces to accompany them and although they were all different, the flavors of each were not unique. Drinks were nothing special nor was the $12. Glass of wine. Such a disappointment for a lovely restaurant. The positive thing was the wait staff. All very pleasant. Sadly we won’t be back unless there is a total change in the kitchen and bar.
Good food, although pricey. Good selection for drinks. Pretty atmosphere. The bartender could have been friendlier and less interested in talking to her friends. We waited an extra 15 minutes to ask for our bill because she had her back to us while she gabbed with her girlfriends. If service was better, I’d be excited to come back
Great dining experience. The food was delicious! Generous portions, salad ingredients very fresh and and tasty. Love the chicken wings and Tostitos. Service was excellent and the atmosphere is very nice. Friendly staff, this was our second visit and we will definitely return.
Nice atmosphere, food and drinks. Drinks are reasonably priced. Beers between $6-15 and cocktails $9-15. A nice selection of cocktails and not overly creative where you have to look up the ingredients. If you’re a vegetarian there’s about five entrees you could chose from including two appetizers.
I wasn’t sure when I looked at the menu but this is a MUST go to place. The drink menu is unique and so great. You can’t get food this flavorful and dress has anywhere else. I had lobster taco and pork belly taco. Really great! Had three different appetizers and they were incredible! Going back next Wednesday with my entire family and out of town guests.
Nice venue but not quite there yet. Small menu. Food we tried was great though. Drinks very odd and eclectic. Not anything most people would drink. Wine selection extremely limited and overpriced. Hope menu expands or when newness dies down place may fall by the way side. The trophy animal heads kind of ruin the ambiance of an otherwise nicely decorated venue.
I went there last night. The building is beautiful but that is where the good part ends. The menu is very limited. When I ordered tacos, I expected regular tacos. What came to the table reminded me of the movie Demolition Man when they went to Taco Bell for dinner. I had to laugh. They were mini tacos. One was $7 (lobster) and one was $4 (lamb) and an order of steak fries $5, they were not steak fries but shoestring. The food had no taste. I had a margarita that was served in a short rock glass (about 6 oz) for $6. You could see the shock at the food when it was brought out to the guest. I wasnt the only one laughing at the tiny portions. Anyone over 25 looked totaly in disgust at the prices in regards to the portions. If the mini tacos had been $2 each, it would have made more since. If you have a lot of money and you are not hungry, this is a place to hang out.
Stopped in here for a quick drink, based mostly out of curiosity. Being one of Brightons newest drinking establishments, and how the building looked in general, I couldnt wait to stop in here. With that being said, this place was everything I was hoping it was going to be and more. When you first enter the parking lot, you will quickly realize that this place looks nothing like anything else youve come across in the area—which is what drew me in while driving by for the last month or so. Once you make it inside, you will again notice that much like the outside, the inside also looks nothing like any sort of bar or restaurant that youve come across in the area. The staff is welcoming and friendly, especially the bartenders. Speaking of the bar, this place has two of them—a full size bar area when you first walk in, and a smaller more quaint bar area toward the front of the building (this is the one that I sat at). Since we are already talking about the bars, and bartenders its only fitting to mention the fact that this places boasts a massive unique collection of booze (most of it being Whiskey, but regardless there is A LOT). They have some stuff here that you literally will not find anywhere else. They do not however have a huge draft craft beer selection, but what they have curated for the menu fits in perfectly for the experience you will find yourself immersed in here. It just works. The food here, is also exceptional— and all I had the time to try was considered to be just an appetizer. I can only imagine what the full entrees taste like.I stopped in here earlier in the day on a Saturday, and it was already getting pretty busy, so I imagine this place fills up pretty quickly and with quite a bit of people (especially on weekends). So hey, maybe lets not get so mad if you have to wait a little while okay? Its worth it, in every way. This establishment is not only immaculately curated, and decorated in every way, it is also very clean and inviting (especially the bathrooms). There are little features all over the place that serve their own individual purposes and that is one of my favorite things about this place. You can tell that an immense amount of thought was put into how this place was put together in every aspect. If you stop in, you wont regret it. Matter of fact, just thank me later—because thats now nice of a place this is. This place is the real deal.
I went there today under the premise that today was a special brunch for Valentine’s Day. Having never been there I brought by months old baby along with me. They had high chairs that they offered me so I must not be the only person who has ever shown up with a baby. We were seated directly next to the DJ speaker. They looked at me and said they would turn the music down a bit but that was not the case. We were not given menus and told that they needed to find some more. I don’t quite understand considering their menus are a piece of paper. I figured there would be a special tasting menu for the brunch but there was not. Took a very long time for someone to come and take our order. I then needed to take my child to the restroom to change him and there were no changing tables. Being winter I canceled our food order and we had to leave.
Great ambiance - cool 2 story glass front sitting area, nice bar with comfortable seats and good mixology drinks. Had some good apps - the dates and lamb over hummus. Limited menu, had a few tacos which were pretty good. Live music on the weekends later in the night is another bonus.
Hoooooooly Cow! We just finished the skirt steak (about a pound), big chicken breast and 12 jumbo shrimp family style dinner. It was amazing. Super fresh, house made chimichuri sauce, lots of grilled vegitables, cilantro lime rice and black beans. Not to mention some great churros with chocolate dipping sauce for desert. This is a great deal for $48. It fed 4 hungry people with plenty of leftovers. We had a somewhat negative experience being ignored at the bar when they were open back in February, but this really made up for that previous experience.
First time dining here n was very enjoyable food was outstanding n presentation was very nice dessert was was awesome I had the Tomahawk Porkchop which was very well cookedHowever most of all was our Server Chelsea she made our dining experience most enjoyable very polite n considerate
If I could I would give it 3.5 stars.Pros:-The atmosphere-The drink menu (huge selection of bourbon and vodka). Beer list was pretty decent.-The friendly staff if your seated anywhere but the bar.Cons:- Tacos were average at best. Had 4 different ones and the shell was something you buy from Meijer as a 20 pack. There was only one and they broke apart on everyone, they should double up.- Pear and Walnut salad was excellent, but was served with no dressing at all and when asked for extra they charged me $1 for it.- If you sit at the bar, the bartender spends more time talking to the owner at the end of the bar or staff they continuing to follow up with their customers.Overall: This place is confusing. Its a mix of a bourbon house/ mexican / seafood / upscale during the day / dancefloor party /club at night. Entrees are pricey but seem the food quality is so so. If Im going to soend $40 on a meal, id rather go somewhere else. If im looking to get a drink and hangout then this is a really cool place. Well see if it lasts for a long time or not.
Dined in once for my birthday and had excellent service. Then my family ordered curbside during COVID and part of our order was missing. When we picked up the missing item, staff was very apologetic and treated us to free ice cream, cookies and even a gift card. It really was no big deal, and yet they went above and beyond to make it right! Food and drinks are ridiculously delicious on top of the fantastic service. Keep up the good work SBS, you’ve got lifetime customers over here.
Really cool looking new place in Brighton. Large selection of bourbons and whiskeys available to try in a separate pour or whiskey flights. (I know bourbon is a whiskey!) The food selection is limited and a mostly Mexican theme. The food was good (we had the app tower), but expensive ($30) for not much food. The drinks is were average pours and reasonably priced.
Being a foodie, five stars! To be honest, this was our second visit. The first was a pre-opening...not a full menu, not much to say the first time around. This time? We ordered a simple appetizer. The quoeso was incredible! I ordered the grilled Caeser, add shrimp. My husband ordered the stuffed shrimp, which he shared with me. Both dishes were top notch. All flavors blended perfectly. The salad had the perfect amount of dressing, not drenched. They definitely put a lot of effort in their food prep. The owner also approached us. Very genuine.
This place was so cool, I had to make this my first review! Some places have great food, and some have great service - It is a rare treat to get both of them in one place. Food was tasty, and delivered by our waitress that you could tell cared about us having a good time. I’m still amazed that Brighton has a place like this. We will be back!
Simply fantastic! Don’t have any idea what the 1 star reviews are taking about...diverse menu, many reasonably priced offerings, including American and Mexican fare. Portion size perfect. FYI, the tacos they serve here are “Mexican” style street tacos that would cost $1 there, but for a different quality of meat...You are not in Mexico, people! Here the tacos range from $3–$7. Completely reasonable. Beautiful, 30 day aged ribeye with 2 sides included...perfectly seasoned and cooked. Sonoran hot dog is not to be missed! Mushroom risotto add chicken and is fabulous. Service by Chelsea...impeccable. Attentive, friendly, extremely knowledgeable about drink and food. Great music. Don’t miss the churros for dessert. Make reservations and do yourself a favor. This place is worth the drive from anywhere!
Heres the deal, I really wanted to like this place because Brighton is a great town and the social is in a great location. Anyway I love bourbon, whiskey, etc. Unfortunately when arriving at the social we asked if they could sit 10 they said sure but it will be a wait. Okay, totally understandable, we wait. Well we waited and hour and a half. We saw tables be turned over three times. Finally they text us, we go up and they tell us ok, you will be a two separate tables. One on one side of the room the other in the other side of the room not even together. That was a frustrating but we decided ok we will stay at the bar we were at. It would have been fine if the bartender paid any attention to us. Always had to ask for another drink. Mind you the place was not busy. We were polite and just went with it cause honestly its not a big deal. The reason for two stars is because the drinks were awful. They tried way to hard to make their drinks different and a simple Manhattan tasted like swamp water. Another specialty drink ended up making my friend sick and sadly the pulled pork tacos I tried were extremely dry and flavorless. On top of it all they claim to be a high end social. Well ya, the prices are high but the booze and food are way below average. The bartender told us the owner got a bottle of Bourban for 5000 and thats why a shot was 815. Well we looked it up the exact bottle and you could get it for 2000. I totally get up charge and if it was good I have no problems paying. That being said what I recieved was not worth the money I paid. I hope they can improve cause this should be a home run for them.
Food was good, drinks were good, atmosphere was good. Everything is overpriced.I dont mind paying a premium for higher end places, but my experience at SBS was everything was good, not great but priced as if it was great.$90 bill for two people which included an appetizer and 5 drinks.
The only thing is the decor was very modern and updated! The whole look inside and out was nice. Heres the bad. Poor service wasnt even acknowledged for about 20 minutes after being seated. The only thing we ordered where bloody Marys which where very high in sodium. Decided to not order food because service was incredibly bad. Also high prices and the menu had very little to offer food wise. Would not recommend unfortunately.
Pretty building. Rude and poorly trained staff. Many empty seats but you still wait forever. They say the seats reserved however it appeared as if these infamous people reserving thegood seats never showed. Absolutely no reason to return with so many better choices out there. Training should be the number one priority in a newer business. The price point would be fine if the staff was attentive and friendly.
Really cool and just the right amount of fancy and ostentatious. Lots of whiskey options obviously, but surprisingly lots of non-whiskey and even non-alcoholic options too. Food is good, the queso might be made from Velveeta as its very congealed. If thats your thing, the flavor is still good.
Horrible!! My wife and I wanted to try this new restaurant. We sat at the bar . We shared a Weller Old Fashion and 2 , 1.5 oz shots of Mezcal (Tequila), a Chopped salad with Chicken and the Shrimp Tamale appetizer. TOTAL BILL -$173.84 !! $63 a shot for the Mezcal, $126.00 for 2 small snifters of Mezcal!! The bartenderadmitted she should of told us. I paid the bill, left a tip but feel totally RIPPED OFF. This isnt how you do business in Brighton and survive.
Nice atmosphere. Food is over priced and service is bad. They brought out the wrong flight and then charged us double what was labeled on the menu. Talked to the manager about it and instead of apologizing said they “weren’t the kind of place to hand correct their menus.” Trying too hard to be fancy... not worth what you pay for.
Well first of all this was our first night from our child in at least 3 months. Hearing about this place we had to visi . Let me tell you it will be our last visit. We showed up right around 9pm on a friday. I get that it was a little busy but we should bot of waited 35 minutes for someone to come get our drink order. Then the same waitress came back opening admitting she went out back to smoke weed and forgot our orde . So it took us a whole hour to get even one drink. If this is how this establishment is going to run it wont be around for long.

2022-03-06My daughter decided to surprise me with a birthday dinner out. I have not gone to many restaurants since CoVid, so she surprised me with an igloo experience. Single Barrel Social provided the best birthday evening. The food was amazing, the service was exceptional (Kayla), and the igloo was warm, quiet and enjoyable. We could laugh as loudly as we wanted to. Everyone had a fantastic time. The Chef made a exceptional dinner for me since I have so many allergies (gluten, corn and a low sodium diet). Thank you Single Barrel Social for the wonderful birthday experience.❤️

2021-08-13What an absolutely amazing place. We’ve wanted to go since they opened not too long ago, and we are sure glad we finally made it. This place filled a niche that I wasn’t even sure existed. The atmosphere here is fantastic, from the architecture of the building to the layout of the inside. The lighting is great and the tables are well spaced to enjoy private conversations. The staff was fantastic, and for the most part very knowledgeable. I would only suggest that some servers brush up on their whiskey knowledge. They all seemed to know the cocktail list and menu very well. The food was great as well. They have options that most places don’t, and they were all delicious. The drinks were just as well made. The cocktails were creative and not just generic classics. The whiskey: it’s why we came in the first place. The selections were fantastic. They have more here than any other place I’ve yet to go. Their scotch list was a bit shorter but since it is a bourbon themed bar I’m not surprised. They still have all the classics.

2021-11-25This restaurant is more of an experience than youd expect. The setting is beautiful, the service is excellent, the music is eclectic. All of that before you even see the extensive spirits offerings, the excellent menu and delicious desserts. This is a beautiful spot overlooking Brightons Mill Pond for an upscale, wonderful evening out.#NotACountryMusicBar

2022-01-16Had a great dinner last night with my wife and friends. My scallops were delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. Appetizers were very good too. My only take away was the included gratuity on the bill. I almost double tipped her. We were only 4 people and I know bigger groups get that at a lot of restaurants. It felt a bit insulting.

2022-04-24I chose this place because it was recommended on Google.I love my steak well done but not burnt. It came out perfect. To bartender Rob was very personable and welcoming to me and others.I frequently visit Brighton for business and this was in Oasis as a tourist.Wish the patio were open but the ambience and the staff were top-notch!

2022-05-17Solid experience. Food was delicious/ Drinks were well prepared. We had an appetizer and a couple amazing burgers plus the best beet salad and a dessert. Tipped the server well cause she deserved it. At the end of the night $170 spent on the bill was a tad puzzling, but I guess expected. We had fun and we will be back .. eventually
