Slice Of The 80s in other cities:
I have ordered here between 4-5 times over the last two years. I ordered here because my usual pizza place is closed on Tuesday’s. I got a large bacon pizza, extreme cheese bread, and 2liter. The pizza was a 4/5 the flavored crust (which is free) could use a second look. The 2 liter was cold 5/5. The cheese bread was the main reason for the low score. I give the cheese bread a 2/5 because it includes one ranch and one pizza dipping sauces otherwise it would be a 1/5. The bread for me was over cooked and not enjoyable.
I would rate this place 0 stars if I could. It by far is the worst pizza I have ever had. 0 flavor and tasted like a low budget knock off of Pizza Hut and Pizza Hut is gross to me but I would definitely take it over this cardboard that was burnt to a crisp. It pretty much tastes like they reheated leftover pizza from the 80’s.
I have been a fan of Slice of the 80s since your 1st location opened in Westland. I have been obsessed with your ranch since that 1st dip all those years ago. Made in the store for years I bought it by the tub. Dipping nearly everything in it. Then the worst thing ever happened. You switched to having it come prepackaged offsite and it became the runniest unflavored warm cup of nasty. I literally quit coming for awhile and tried other places. But your pizza and service brought me back. I constantly asked you guys to bring back making the ranch in store again. It took what felt like forever but the worlds best ranch is back and it is amazing! Well seasoned, rich, thick, and creamy. And most importantly it stays on the food! Please dont ever change the ranch. It is perfection.
Since the very first time that I enjoyed a Slice of the 80s pizza, I was hooked! Awesome pizza, awesome calzones, but my absolute favorite, are their battered mushrooms! I love good battered mushrooms, and Ive had them from many places, all over the state of Michigan. The battered mushrooms at Slice of the 80s are the very best Ive ever had! The staff at Slice of the 80s are always friendly, helpful, and professional. Yep! Slice of the 80s is our go to place for pizza, calzones, and especially mushrooms!!!
This pizza place is a BIG surprise - I just decided to finally order from them after driving past many times - WOW, I ordered the GNARLY style pizza and included trying the Nacho cheeze crust topping AND the pizza was very well loaded with toppings - DOUBLE WOW! Really beats the minimal amount of thinly sliced and Pizza Hut toppings (I can count the toppings on each Pizza Hut slice using one or two fingers max)
I just ordered myself a small kickin Chicken with butter parmesan nacho cheese crust, theres nothing better than this pizza mixed with the ranch that they have, to boot I got these really cool color changing cups for my kids for $0.99! My delivery driver was awesome too, best pizza place around seriously! But for real bring back the damn Coney dog pizza please 🥺 lol
We’ve been ordering from this location for a while now and we love it! We’ve never gotten pizza that was over or undercooked, and we love that the crust is both crispy on the outside and doughy inside. I’m not impressed with their salads, but the pizza always hits the spot—even a basic, pepperoni pizza is delicious. We also love the Kickin’ Chicken pizza, Nacho cheese bread, and boneless wings. Delivery is usually pretty quick too, though we do live close by.
💥💥LIVONIAS BEST KEPT SECRET and A MUST EXPERIENCE!...🍕😍Everyone loves traditional pizza. Its a well known American favorite easy meal that feeds a crowd. BUT hear me out...Have you had a DILL PICKLE PIZZA? A Unique style gourmet specialty pizza loaded with melted mozzarella cheese and tangy dill pickles all on top of a mouthwatering white style sauce with options to kick up the crust with different flavors. All located in a pizzeria with 80s flare. If you cant visit or had a busy week and need a quick meal? They even deliver with totally affordable prices. Definitely my new go to locally-owned pizzeria.
Ah, slice of the 80s. Having lived through 2 whole months of the 80s, I feel I can relate to this pizza on a personal level. This pizza is some of the best pizza I have ever had. And I have had my fair share of pizza. Let me tell you why my review is worth reading. It all started in November of 89. I was welcomed into this world with flashy colors like lime, pinks, and sky blues. The hair was big. The rock was rockin. The pizza? Fantastic. The 80s was known for the countless pizza shops on every street corner. All the kids used to say “I can’t wait to have some ‘Za’ today”. And boy, were they spoiled. Until, the 90s came. And then the 2000s. Cold, dark times lay ahead in the pizza world. Endless amounts of garbage plastered into cardboard boxes with no end in sight. Until, in 2008 our prayers were answered. Not only was Slice of the 80s opened, it brought back that same feel of pizza I once had as a 1 month old in 1989. Faith in humanity was restored. The pizza gods finally provided Metro Detroiters with some of the finest pizza that rockers like Alice Cooper and Jack White have ever had. It was because of Slice of the 80s pizza that rock is still a genre of music. I for one don’t even own a single menu from another pizza establishment. I’m only getting my Za from Slice of the 80s. Any time I have some dough in my pocket, I ask the Slice of the 80s crew to whip up some dough in the form of a pepperoni filled masterpiece. Pepperoni not your style? That’s okay, you can create anything you want! It’s truly easy cheesy to order what you desire online, over the phone, or in the store. Anyone who doesn’t give Slice of the 80s a chance is a real Pizza work, let me tell you. Everything about the pizza is fantastic. Cheese? Check. Toppings? Yes, pease. Crust? 10/10 would dip in ranch. In the words of Freddy Mercury, “Another one bites the crust”. Now of you can’t be convinced to purchase your pizza from Slice, I feel sorry for you that you’re missing out on such a great pizza and I would consider that a breach of crust. And for those of you that do choose the Slice, it sure would be slice to meet you someday.
I really wanted to try this place when I first heard about them online. After about two months of toying with the idea, I caved and decided to drive the 25 minutes there and try it out. Man, was I ever disappointed. The pizza was very much like hungry Howies, in my opinion, and I don’t care for their pizza. It just wasn’t good. The “extreme cheese bread” that says in the description “double the mozzarella” wasn’t very cheesy at all. I’m not sure what they’re comparing it to when they say “double the mozzarella” but it’s very scarce. The last thing that really disappointed me was the ranch.. I love a good ranch with my pizza and I think Jets pizza has the best ranch. When the menu said “homemade ranch” I very much imagined it being a jets quality ranch.. however, what I received was a side of ranch that was clearly made in factory setting and not in the restaurant, and it was just nasty. I would not recommend this place to anyone.. there’s way better pizza out there to spend your money on.
One of the few places open on Christmas. I didnt feel like cooking a big dinner for my family and didnt have anywhere to go. Apparently neither did a lot of people because there was a lot of people waiting. From what I gather it was just 2 ladies doing everything and one man delivering. I could be wrong. Regardless, they were working hard. Thank you!
We are so happy that we now have slice of the 80s close enough to get delivered to the house! While I have driven to westland all these years its so convenient to have delivery! And the pizza is even better than I remember!!! Always consistent, always delicious! And always hot!!! I cant say a bad thing about their food. I have never had a bad experience!!!
Literally The Best Pizza I’ve Ever Had!! Great Customer Service Like They Remember Who I Am When I Call.. I Order Slice Of The 80’s From The Livonia Store Almost Everyday!! I Almost Want To Apply For A Position Just So I Can Get The Discount. Lol This Post Made Me Want Some Now!
My husband and I have been going to Slice of the 80s since they only had the location in Westland. We have always been lovers of their calzones, and so when the Livonia location opened we were super excited because it was closer to our home. We like to get them at least once a month, if not more. I craved their veggie calzone my entire pregnancy with my son. Check them out.
Amazing Food, Amazing Service, Amazing atmosphere. If you love the 80s you will love Slice of the 80s whether this location or the original. From amazing tasting pizza that feels like it has been delivered straight from the 80s delivered by a DeLorean going 88 miles an hour, to all the other tasty food options they offer like their chicken Wings. Great staff that always goes up and beyond every time you come in. Plus while you are waiting they have an arcade machine that has all of you favorites from the 80s and a whole lot more to make make the quick time you have to wait for you food go by faster.Do yourself a favor and visit Slice of the 80s for you Food Options, trust me its the best and easiest way to feel like back the 80s instead of Finding Doc Brown.
Pizza made with the blessing of heavy metal. Brace yourself because one step in this pizza 🍕 palace will rock you like a freight train with the power of heavy metal, Nintendo nes, and the golden saxophone of the Lost Boys. The pizza will make you fly like an aeroplane one more time tonight. Slice if the 80s is THE best pizza joint in Detroit.
This is hands down the best pizza in the area. Having had less than desirable experiences at most other pizza places in the area this was an exceptional blast from the past. I had pretty much given up on pizza around here and just happened to see a car with the delivery topper driving around town and I was immediately drawn in by name.I knew I needed to figure out where it was, and then how to get my hands on it. Turns out it was much closer than I would have ever anticipated. The rest is history.Delivery was quick, and the food was hot and fresh. There are many of variations of the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza and the one these guys make is probably my favorite that I have had to date. Its not fancy or anything, its just plain delicious. Another must have when ordering from here is the Nacho Cheese Bread. Think of your favorite cheese bread but on steroids because its slathered in liquid nacho cheese sauce—which adds a perfect touch that until now I didnt even know my cheese bread needed. If youre new to the area, or from the area and are on the fence about trying this place. Look no further, and order immediately. Oh and tell your friends.Thank me later. ;)
I ordered a pepperoni, sausage & bacon pizza with 80s bread (1st time). The bread was really doughy and the pizza was ok- not enough sauce for me. They called me the next day to inform that my coupon wasnt applied to my order properly. Yes, they gave integrity. When I shared that I didnt enjoy my order, the owner offered to remake my order. He told me to order extra sauce (since I like my pizza saucy) and he told me to try their cheese bread as the 80s bread is made like the 80s- doughy. My remade order was much better. They were really nice to talk to (1st & 2bd time). Now I know why other fellow Googlers like them too!
Slice of the 80s Livonia was awesome. First off, the Pickle Pizza was delicious! But second, I messed up my order and they fixed it for me, no questions asked, right away! They didnt even have to because it was my mistake but they did it anyway. Very impressed with the service and hospitality! Thanks so much Slice of the 80s! I will definitely be back!!!!
Love this place pizzas I tried from here the pickle pizza one of my favorite It is awesome plenty of pickles, great amount of cheese and a nice light crispy crust. Just recently tried the coney dog pizza and love it. Just like a coney dog so good -- pepperoni and cheese cant go wrong there. All around great place
We tried this place for the 1st time tonight. Coney pizza was great! Reminds me of being a kid! The other 2 pizzas we tried were good too. I asked for well done and they were. The wings were good but I do wish they put the sauce on them. But I understand why they dont. Ordered online and it was ready when it said it would be. Deffintiely will be back for the Coney pizza! Glad someone I know recommended this place.
Great job Livonia location!!! Fast service, delicious HOT food, and COLD soda. We ordered half steak & mushroom and half sausage and the mushrooms were huge, fresh and awesome. Steak is to die for. Cheese bread alone could feed our whole family. So much bang for our buck and super friendly staff. Keep it up guys!
Everything was good the pizza was a little too greasy but most people like that I just can’t stand grease so that’s not their fault. The workers were nice and it was really fast. I live at Joy and Middlebelt and out of Pizza Hut, benitos and 80’s, they are the best option by far
Ive known of the other location in Westland for many years. Always stopped in while in the area. I learned of their new location yesterday and had to have some today. My kids and I are Pizza snobs and have tried all the local mom and pop shops as well as the main stream Pizza joints. From online ordering to the notification that its on the way and fresh ingredients. Absolutely nothing compares!!Even tastes like the 80s!! 😆 Best pizza now in Livonia and Redford! Thank you Slice Of The 80s! Im now within the delivery area!P s my kids love the pizza delivery race car!
I came to this location to pick up an order for DoorDash. It was 8:58 pm and they were slated to close at 9:00 pm. While most restaurant employees dont care and will quickly tell you that theyre closed and hang up in your face, that DID NOT happen here. I called and Mariah answered the phone and was very sweet as she told me she would wait for me to pick up the order. This small act of courtesy on her part should be recognized and I really appreciated it. I will definitely come here in the future and do business with this establishment. Kudos to Mariah.
Been going to the Westland store for years and it has been nothing short of amazing. Decided to give the Livonia one a try. Not as impressed. We got some boneless wings which were probably slightly bigger then popcorn chicken. The ranch had a hair in it, it also smelled slightly off. They also forgot to add our flavored crust to the pizza. Will most likely not be going back to the Livonia store, but definitely will make the extra drive to the Westland store.
First of all I am so excited to hear that you now have a Livonia location. I have heard so many positive reviews about you and had to give it a shot. I had ordered a large pizza with bacon and pineapple with butter parmesean crust and its amazing! Everything was hot when we received by delivery. I am very pleased with you all. One thing I would recommend is to cut the pizza all the way through but other than that I will order from you all from here on out. From your friends on Belton St.
Pizza was okay, but not impressed with precautions taken for virus. Windows are covered so you cant see inside. Once inside, no way to stay 6 feet apart. Being able to see inside would give me the choice of whether or not I want to go in. Pizza wasnt ready when I got there, which was fine. I told them I was going to wait outside and would somebody please come get me when my pizza was done. They said yes and then never did. By the time I went inside to double-check, my pizza was cold.
The food is tremendous but the owner doesent respect his employees, treats them horrible and allows his Husband and wife managerial team to steal from the drivers without ANY concern. What kind of taste does that leve you with?4-12. Im the one they did it to! You know exactly who Im talking about. This is indictive of my point. Im not going to allow you to try to discredit me or lie.
Ugh, I hate to leave a bad review because this is truly the best pizza I have ever had. Unfortunately, while we are all about supporting local businesses especially during the pandemic, not following safety guidelines by not wearing masks and standing on top of each other just isnt worth the risk for me.
Just had Veggie Calzone, Gnarly pizza, 1 order of each boneless & bone in wings. Ordered 2 sauces habanero/ mango and thai chili. We have zero left overs, in my book that says, Awesome food! Terry was our delivery guy had it here in 25 mins. I live in New Boston and hes my son. Im sure, Im out of their delivery area but, Ill order again.
My husband and I actually love this place. However the last few times they havent followed covid regulations. Last week the staff behind the counter were wearing masks but the female delivery driver came in and wasnt wearing a mask. Then today none of the staff were wearing masks. Its a very little thing to do to keep people safe. We sadly will be taking our business elsewhere.
We were looking for a small business to support during these crazy times so we got delivery. Decent food but what I have to say is that I’m verrrry disappointed that the man who dropped off my food tonight didn’t have a mask on. Makes me rethink ordering here again until this is over.

2022-03-09The crew at Slice of the 80s LIVONIA Location (Middlebelt, north of Joy Rd) absolutely ROCKS! I organized pizza parties for 34 schools and departments for Be Kind Livonia during the month of February, as a thank you to school staff in Livonia Public Schools and Clarenceville Schools. Patrick, Matt and the entire staff at Slice of the 80s handled this huge volume with perfection! The pizzas were delivered on time, piping hot and absolutely delicious! We had lots of smiling staff members who were so excited to be treated to a pizza lunch! THANK YOU to Slice of the 80s Livonia location for making this huge project such a totally awesome success! How can we give TEN stars?? :)

2022-04-20Delicious Pizza, great app with reward points and excellent deals going at all times. You truly cannot go wrong here. I definitely recommend the carryout option just so you can come in and see the amazing décor. Slice of the 80s takes their brand very seriously - its amazing to be sent back in time when you walk through that door. Give them a shot!

2022-09-14Wanted a well done trilogy pie via door dash and that option wasn’t available online. I put the request in the special instructions and the awesome people at slice of the 80’s made my request! Best pizza in town

2022-07-16Great place, great decade, and probably the only pizza place that has convinced me that pineapple can go well on a pizza. (And this is a huge compliment btw.)EDIT: Got it again tonight, along with a pepperoni pizza. Consistently awesome. Thanks guys!

2021-11-19Ordered from here last night, pizza was ok, definitely a little well done. I like well done so it wasn’t bad for me, but the rest of the family complained. The breadsticks were burnt to a crisp and tasted terrible. They literally got tossed in the trash. They also completely forgot my antipasto salad. Not a good experience at all.

2021-09-03Dude! You gotta try the pickle pizza! White garlic sauce, mozzarella, crunchy dill pickles and parmesan cheese 👌😘 Make sure to order the crust well done to prevent it getting too soggy. Your taste buds will be very happy.

2022-05-05Pizza is amazing!! Someone said the reviews are manipulated.. theyre not! I love the trilogy! My kids love this place. You also are not required to purchase any kind of cups at checkout, it is an option on doordash and all you have to do is click the X to say no.

2022-07-30Slice of the 80s Livonia is my #1 pizza place and you wont be disappointed here!! They have consistently super awesome pizza, I love the calzones and the team is always totally fantastic and nice! The manager, Amber, is a Rockstar and it was great to meet her today!!

2022-04-28Seems like a place that possibly has manipulated its reviews.Legitimately the first pizza Ive ever had that has extremely bland and near zero taste sauce.People mentioned the ranch a few times, but its nothing special at all. Also extremely ridiculous that when using doordash they REQUIRE you to spend $1.5-2 and buy a glass or shot glass to check out.Trust your instincts when it comes to this place. Literally on the bottom of my list for pizza now. Not the first person to question even trying this place. It was edible so doesnt warrant a 1 rating, but its like a worse hungry howies.Just too many very sketchy variables with this restaurant.

2022-06-15Im so glad to see all the good reviews. I used to live in Westland, so Id go to the Westland location often. Years later and I STILL think about their cinnamon bread and pizza. Then I moved to Livonia and was so excited when I saw they had a Livonia location! Their whole vibe is so cute and their food is amazing. Really sad to see some people didnt like them because I think their stuff is fantastic.
