Posting with regret that after U.Store sold out to SpareBox Storage a new price increase has occurred. No longer Senior Discount is honored and Price goes up $25.00 per month additional. Very unhappy ad was not able to speak with a Manager or Supervisor. Thats the way it is nowadays. I had not even received a notice it was going up it just went up. What was once fair is know longer fair.

My name is Keith I have a RV which I park at the Gull rd Spare Box storage unit. I have been a customer there for years when they “had” security and good customer service. When I went to get my RV yesterday I discovered the lot was not secure. Then I discovered the catalytic converter had been stolen from my vehicle. After some looking around I found four other Motorhomes had their converters cut off also. About four weeks earlier I had been to the storage facility and discovered the key pad to open the gate did not work at which time I spoke to an employee who advised me the “storm” had knocked out the power and the key pad would be working later the day. How I have talked to others and read other reviews and discovered this lot has been without security for several weeks. I have attempted to contact Spare Box to talk with someone about this situation and they said to file a police report and he would put a note in my file. I have sent an email requesting contact an all I have received is a automated response saying they are to busy and I should here from them in 48 to 72 hrs. They are still advertising “ security” on their web site which is not true.

It took a few days for someone to follow up with me after I was onsite with the county sheriff. This officer informed me that after speaking to a representative from u-haulu-store in Richland, that gates were down but the cameras were still operational. The representative from u-store informed me that the cameras in fact were not operational. So, since Tuesday, 8/24/21 this storage facility has been 100 % completely unsecured. I asked if customers would be compensated for this laps in security. After all their claim is 24/7 secure storage! I was told by the representative that compensation was not going to happen, and if I didn’t like it I could take my business elsewhere and he had 20 other people waiting to take my spot. Not once during my conversations have I been rude or obnoxious and never disrespectful. It was made very clear that clear open communication and being a customer focused business was not a priority!

Honestly before I spoke with you I was very frustrated and felt defeated by U-Haul and you completely changed everything! Thank you so much for being your customers advocate and for the incredible, top of the line customer service.

I needed to move into my unit on a Sunday with short notice due to some unexpected circumstances. I used their webiste to rent a unit, as the office was closed. When I arrived to the facility the gate code didnt work so we couldnt get into the unit. We double and triple checked the code and called emergency number 3 times and went straight to voicemail with no call back. We also tried renting another unit on the Kiosk at the office, with the same results. After a few hours we were finally able to tailgate someone in and unload, unfortunately by then it had started to pour rain. Turns out that the website inaccurately stated that the gate code could be between 6 & 10 numbers but in reality it has to be 6. The next day I contacted them to get it straightened out and to ask that the $20 admin fee be returned to me for my trouble. The assistant manager, Jim, was very helpful but the refund had to be approved by his regional manager, Tyler. Tyler denied the request. So the moral of the story is make sure you pick a 6 digit gate code, pray there isnt an actual emergency because nobody will answer, and Tyler has terrible customer service.

We needed 4 storage units for 4 months while we made our move to the area. This was not an easy move, but Jim, the assistant manager, was very accommodating, helpful, and friendly during our move in and move out process and helped ease the stress. He is an asset to the business. Thank you to Jim!!

For a 10x30 storage unit they were cheaper than the surrounding areas much cleaner nicer facility very well maintained and the manager was very pleasant to work A+++👍
