I had went into the ER to have a fingernail removed, before the doctor had decided it should be removed he looked it over in a very disrespectful manor. After being sent up to get xrays, he proceeded to take almost and hour and a half to get back with me about my results. This wasn’t my issue, when he gave me the numbing shot in my finger he didn’t give it time to reach the tip of my finger, and proceeded to remove my nail after I had already told him that I was not ready and I could still feel it.In my opinion he had no bedside manor whatsoever, and was rude when asked to explain more about the injury.
Everyone treats you with respect. They are all friendly! When I have been admitted there, the nurses and every staff member I encountered have all been very kind, and treated me with the utmost respect and courtesy. Whether Im there for lab work or testing or being admitted every department I encountered was great. Im so thankful I live just around the corner from them.
I went there with Chest pain, the ER Doctor said he ran my symptoms through a computer program and said I was low risk, Women do not show the same symptoms as men, Being an RN , I was shocked by how they took care of me, I have known Heart condition. I followed up with my Cardiologist at Borgess in Kalamazoo MI, He could not believe they did not keep me overnight, as heart damage does not show up right away on ECG. Needless to say, they are off my list of care provider. Then to top it off, they sent me a bill for 400.00 stating they are not TRICARE participating Providers. Good to know that they dont honor our service members insurance.
Dr.Aimee Nefcy was very rude, and seemed inconsiderate of my 2 yr olds health. Sent us home with a 102 fever AFTER 2 doses of fever reducer that didn’t bring her fever down. I specifically asked for Flu, Strep and other tests but was told flat out NO, they would only do a covid test and that she wasn’t going to continue to argue with me. After she said that i never saw her again. This is a 2 year olds health you are playing with!!! Will never come here again.
Usually pretty good. All the worst experiences Ive had in the ER are with doctors who have since moved on. Yes, it can be a tad slow, but Id rather spend a little time in the waiting room and longer in a treatment room than the other way around. (It could also be different during the day...I only ever seem to end up there in the middle of the night.)Slightly concerned that the hometown hospital feeling Ive always enjoyed will go into the trash now that Sparrow has taken over, but its too soon to tell.
This hospital is closer than sparrow for me. I regret coming every time. Never anyone in the waiting room but it takes forever. The last two times the Dr said I should follow-up with my primary Dr and nothing more is needed. I then waited more than an hr in my room to be discharged. I even used the call button in my room to get someone to check on me and they said someone would be with me soon. No one ever came! Without a doubt, they are the slowest hospital I have ever been to. Most of the people I know have had similar experiences. I have learned my lesson - I will never return to this hospital.
Im really surprised at all the low star reviews. Our family has never had any experience there that would even approach that low of a score. Ive personally had many visits there (some serious) as well as my wife and mother and weve never had a bad or unpleasant outcome. The facilities are in good shape and the people are knowledgeable. I actually came to this site today to register our familys appreciation for the care my wife just received there on a recent three day stay. One must keep in mind that small hospitals excel at some things that the big ones do not and vice-versa and select their hospital accordingly.
Man I am simply in amazement with how efficient and organized my visit was this morning. I had to get X-rays done and with all the reading of horror stories about wait times in ER -- they even have RESERVATIONS now for your emergency, yep, look it up -- I buckled down for a long and extended wait, hoping I do not become the next horror story. While I did not have to go to the ER, having an unannounced visit without a reservation with my X-rays got me a wee bit anxious of my fate. What I got instead was the exact pleasant opposite. I got into registration and was called back into the labs in rapid succession. My head was spinning from how efficient that was. Or maybe thats another condition I need to get checked out? 😏During my time there every single staff member I saw was righteously focused on their patients, and everyone seemed to CARE which seems to be missing from health, um, care, these days. A very positive experience for me all around. I hope others get the same.
YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE TO WAIT FOR 2 1/2 HOURS JUST TO SEE THE DOCTOR IN THE ER! On a Monday. This is Charlotte, not Lansing. Staff were laughing and having a good ole time while patients were kept waiting. The nurse was called once at the 2 hour mark but it took another 30 minutes for anyone to show up.This place is a complete joke.
Cannot get over how long it takes to get bloodwork done! Because of my husbands cancer treatment he has to come in often, waiting over an hour is pretty rediculous. Every time we come its a really long wait. Get more staff or something. People with a preexisting condition shouldnt have to wait in a lobby full of people.
Worst ER experience I’ve ever had. I went in with a high fever and was dehydrated and out of it. I have a long list of concerns about this place - from the ER staff to the Management to the “patient satisfaction team” who is worse than all of them. This is not a hospital I would take a dog to. Don’t let this happen to you. They don’t care if your satisfaction isn’t met. Look at these reviews !? Same stuff different days/months with no changes. If I hadn’t been out of it due to the high fever...I would have looked these up and never would’ve gone here.06/18/18 Update - stack of letters sent to the board members of this hospital to address my complaints including the bill. How do you admit to “failing a patient completely at every level” and not do anything about the bill?I wish I could totally fail at my job and still get paid!
Went in today and the reason I will leave out. They were so genuine! Every single one of the staff were helpful and caring! I was moved right into a room. (although there was no one there either). They turned a horrible day for me into a much better day! The doctor all the way down to the nurses were AMAZING! I cant thank them enough for the help they gave to me today! Thank you thank you thank you! I wish there was a better way to thank you all especially the ones who took the time to care for me today. Ill come up with something!
My husband went after cutting his finger today. It was amazing how many ways that they can let a patient down. It seems like if you question your care the doctors just get their egos bruised and then refuse to provide quality care or really anything that could be called care. The doctor put on sterile gloves and then proceeded to touch multiple unclean surfaces and then clean the wound.Seems basic to understand how to not further contaminate a wound, but must be Im overly critical. They chose not to close his wound so that another doctor could look at it. As a patient you have the right to question if thats the best choice. By my husband questioning that it irritated the doctor. He then chose to clean and scrub the wound without numbing it at all. I swear the hippocratic oath has something about first do no harm. Must be that doesnt apply to providing medication when its warranted. Not narcotics or opioids, just numbing an area so that you gave a patient that is able to comfortably tolerate a good clean wound. That being said the nurse was the highlight and did his best to make the visit tolerable. Thank you for that. Id love to tell you what the doctors name was but you dont bother to put their names on any of your paperwork. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS HOSPITAL! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS.
Ive always had a great experience at the emergency room and urgent care. Recently was hospitalized for two days. I found the staff helpful and polite, and received professional and personal care. ER and urgent care can often get you in with just a short wait. If your health issue is more than they can handle, they will speed you along to the right facility.
We were just at the hospital and learned that our grandpa has a mass in his brain and is dying. There were three people in our room and a random nurse came in to tell us that only two were allowed and to go in the Lobby because we were in her way. I am blown away by how rude this nurse was. I wish I got her name but of course her name tag was flipped over. We were there around 8:30 on Christmas night when this happened. I hope the hospital does something about this RN. My husband literally was crying and she has the nerve to tell him to go to the lobby because there was one extra person in the room. No compassion. Putting a real bad name on this hospital.
Took my 8 month old daughter to Urgent Care here and the nurse had smelled like she just smoked a pack of cigarettes then tried covering it with perfume! She had me put my daughter on a scale fully clothed and took her height measurements with her sitting half way up on the angled bed--nothing was accurate in the least bit. Then, the doctor comes in and doesnt even touch my daughter to examine her. He didnt wear gloves when i asked him to please check her eyes, nose and throat. Mind you- I brought her in for pink eye, it was severely swollen and oozing. When I asked him to check her other ear after looking in one, he said well this one is red so it tells me all I need to know but sure i will look. WHAT!? Are you kidding!? What happened to a FULL EXAMINATION? Sorry, id like to know if my daughter has a double ear infection or just one side so when i follow up with her pediatrician, I can tell him the facts but i would absolutely never recommend this hospital. Horrible bed side manner and staff. Only thing they have going for them and im not convinced it is a good thing, is the quickness of being seen. I have a feeling it is due to the lack of clientele with the horrible staff and experience. I also have to add this is my first review i have ever written. I wont let this one be passed up.
Its the worst hospital I have ever been too. I walked in at 10 pm and the place was empty but yet 4 hours later I was screaming at the top of my lungs for 5 min before someone came in. They wouldnt answer my call light. I went in for stomach problems and discharged myself with worst stomach problems. They are way to short staff, i was told that the lady across the hall was more important. They only had 1 doc. Working in ER and 2 nurses. Wow.
If you are over 70 the staff of this hospital dont seem to care to help you. A nurse yesterday was so incredibly rude to my family member and OVERDOSED her on a medicine! She could have been seriously harmed. This person should not be allowed in the medical field. Go to sparrow in Lansing instead.
Dont ever go to this ER the doctor seemed like he had no idea what he was doing and he seemed very rushed even though there was only 5 patients there including my mom. The male nurse should be fired I have no idea how he got this job, my mother came in for a very bad headache and he couldnt have been louder we have had problems with this man before so we knew he was going to be like this. When he was giving my mother her IV and shot he never changed his gloves he also tore off the glove partially on his index finger before he started and used the computer and still never changed his gloves I also saw him eating before he came into the room and never washed his hands in the room the sinks are there for a reason, if my mother gets a infection because of this a lawsuit will happen if anyone from the hospital is reading this your nurses need more training or something NEEDS to change your hospital has bad ratings for a reason TAKE THE HINT.
I am absolutely discussed with this hospital staff! I was being seen in a room at the end of the hallway from the nurse station. With my door shut, I could hear the nurse on the phone like she was talking right next to me. She gave a name with spelling, address, phone number, and extremely personal information about the state of the person and their home where the ambulance got dispatced to. I actually happened to know the person who she was talking about. I can not believe that they would discuss very personal matter about patients like that. There is laws against stuff like this. Now everyone that was being seen knows all that information. The family of the patient has been notified
I would never recommend this hospital to anyone at all. Terrible to their patients. I went in for stomach issues and other symptoms. They gave my zofran and I threw it up. It took them a half hour just for me to get some water to rinse my mouth out. Then the came with a pill and some benedyrl in a shot. I said Im not taking that. Im allergic to that pill and they said thats what the benedryls for...um shouldnt you not be giving your patients things their allergic even if you have the medicine to stop the reaction. Please please please please dont ever take anyone here. Absolutley awful place!!!!
Ive seen the reviews, but this is my own. Going to HGB can be hit or miss. Ive had really great experiences and HORRIBLE ones. If you are looking for a primary care provider, I suggest insisting on having an interview before you have your new patient appointment. There are some doctors that will challenge you about your own life experiences and even if youve been diagnosed by another physician (specialist) and will do exam/tests that completely do not follow the diagnostic criteria. They will then call you a liar and change stuff in your chart that can have some serious impacts on future care.In the ER there are some phyisicans that have absolutely amazing bedside manner, and some that are basically just there for the paycheck and really dont care about the patients. I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and I often have to go in when I partially or fully dislocate random joints, without having actually done something to cause it. There is one doctor that wont even touch me yo examine me and says Im OK, I just need to let it pass, and then gives some lame story about how they have gone through something similar and that its no big deal. Im sorry, a broken foot, a broken ankle (injured a year apart after falling, once was while hiking on slightly uneven ground) and coughing so hard I had 5 nondisplaced rib fractures, set home being told to take an OTC cough syrup. Within 48 hours I was back because I had just been coughing nonstop which caused me to have an additional 5 more DISPLACED rib fractures. And the one PCP said I didnt need any pain meds just a few days during my follow up (ER only gave me a few pain pills for at home
Im sorry if I dont remember names but staff on 6/6/2021 on day shift ( shannon and Dr amy I think, and all the radiology dept) The best care I have everrexieved.what a pleasant and genuine ataff.Wonderful and amazing bed side manner! Thank you so much, I am forever and grateful for you!!
This is for the wonderful front desk help that unfortunately is found at far too many doctors offices. Called to ask for an appointment to see Dr. Marl that I chose as my primary care physician over a year ago (I told the lovely receptionist this) and she in the standard tone of the disinterested said she would see if the doctor was taking any new patients and would call me back. Now I know you will be shocked at this... I never received a return call!!! Customer service in the medical field is at an all time low. Its not just the medical profession. It does seem it is more concentrated in the medical field however as this in not my first experience like this and have heard this from many others. Would call to complain if it would do any good. It wont.
Well my list of complaints grows longer. Now I can’t seem to get a call back from a Jackie in billing to dispute my bill. My experience with this hospital has been like a nightmare that you can’t wake up from.6/29 updateReceived a call from Medical Executive Team Member - Gisli Haraldsson and Chief of Emergency Medicine - who is just now getting my letter. Acknowledging the many issues and offering assistance. I have to give credit where it is due - THIS is a Doctor who really cares.7/17 updateFooled once again!? No call back as promised by this doc who said he would check into the billing and call me back.7/30 updateNo one cares that I had this experience including the board of trustees I sent a 2nd letter to over a month ago!Their names areEd Dobbs David Reece Martin Latchaw Lori Pray Kira Carter-Robinson Fred Darin Thomas Eveland Eileen Fhaner Charles Grundstrom Sharon Kubica Dennis Swan Denise Wheaton Harper Wildern Robert Leeser Virginia Lowe Richard Trumley8/9/18 updateFinally received a letter telling me politely that they don’t Really care about how poor my treatment was - and that I owe them money because service was provided. Ok. Bills are paid in full. You know multiple reviews claim all this hospital cares about is money...this letter and my experience proves that to be accurate.Of interest. I talked to an employee at the hospital about this a bit ago and they told me not to hold my breath for a good outcome as their MO is to cover for each other no matter how bad things are...well that person was correct. I have now given EVERY level of management the opportunity to do the RIGHT thing and they politely refused. My reviews and others reviews will stand. ***Money is not worth more than doing the right thing and it is certainly not worth more than good public reviews of your hospital. ***
This is by far the worst place to go if any health related services are needed. Not only am I disgusted with this facility but the people that work here should not be working in the health services field. The staff is not knowledgeable. They are working to screen people to push for different state funding I am sure, in my opinion. I urge you to file your complaints against this facility, they need to understand how to treat people and obtain people that are competent. The health of our families is not a part time joke like this facility treats it.
Urgent care is great however, The hospital is absolutely terrible! They not only take hours to see someone when it could take as simple as a 2min in and out thing but they get what is supposed to be sterile supplies out and just leave them the whole time in the bacteria filled area and air. This place is going down hill faster and faster if you have a broken arm or anything serious DONT COME TO HAYES GREEN BEACH!
I went to the Hays Green Beach ER, because Ive been having a pain in my right side for over a week and I dont know why. My girlfriend being an RN urged me to have it checked out as it could be something serious and life treating. However, after having some blood draws and a CT scan. The doctor tells me I only have a small kidny stone in my left kidny . Otherwise Im fine. He suggested I see a chiropractor. To me that didnt make any since for a pain in the right side of my gut. So I go another week and Im still in pain. I end up going back to the ER and requested the paperwork on the labs done and CT scan results. I read that I have a small hiatal hernia and something on my liver but they dont know what it is. Just says it might be a cyst. Funny how I would have never known that if I didnt go back to get the paperwork. Anyway. its now been about a month and Im still in pain. I sense something is terribly wrong. Ill be going to sparrow hospital and if I find out I have something life threatening and it could have been detected sooner. Hays Green Beach will be seeing my attorneys.
If I could rate a 0, I would. I took my son to ER ~ (because for some reason urgent care closes at 4:00pm on a Sunday?!)And was treated so poorly. The nurses treated me like I was an uneducated mother and were extremely rude. I will drive 20+ mins to Lansing urgent care if the need to take my son in arises in the future.
As with several others here, if I could give this quackatorium a negative rating, I would. My nephew who is 6 years old and has type 1 diabetes, was taken there only because it was the closest hospital because his sugar was very low and he had keytones (which, for those of you without diabetes is very bad, especially for a small child). Upon arrival, the staff gave him a popsicle and Gatorade to raise his sugar and replace electrolytes as he was puking also. His sugar came up a little but still not enough. They wanted to recheck his levels because they didnt believe the readings from his own meter. That may have been acceptable if they actually did it. His mother took him out of that place and drove up the road to Sparrow where he was immediately admitted and has five people working on him. THAT is what should have happened at HGB but didnt. Does someone have to die to get the proper assistance at a HOSPITAL?!?!If you have an emergency and HGB is the only place to go for healthcare...go somewhere else.
Before using this hospital I would recommend reading the reviews!!So disappointed in this hospital I have never waited so long for a lab test in our lives, then picking people outa order, with no spots,Even other people in the waiting room were wondering what is going on!! Its very easy to see that the registration staff has no clue or concern about the patients!Cannot believe this place is actually open still.. just wow!!! P.s. the wait with no one in the waiting room will take hours!!
I told them all my symptoms and left with the diagnosis I said. I told them I wanted to know exactly what it was and I left with the same info I came in with. I looked up my symptoms and talked to another doctor and I should be admitted! Why are you doctors if you can’t even look into stuff you just say yep you have what you said now go!
WORST EVER! Will never bring my family there! 4 years ago. After 1 month of constant migraines to the point where my vision was blurred. and many trips to the ER at HGB, and being sent home with Pain meds.and stating it was allergies, or i needed my eyes checked .. Sick and tired of pill pushers ..I finally went to Sparrow. I ended up having Streptococcal (sp) Meningitis! and was admitted imminently. and was in there for a month, and sent home on IV.

2022-04-24I would rate this 0 if that was an option! I was seen by Ashna Goyal, PA-C. This is the second time I have been seen by her and I will never be back again! She was super condescending and rude! The impression I got off her was she didnt want to do her job nor be there! Who wants there health put in a doctors hands thats like that! I came in with a sudden very blood shot eye in one corner, my eye feeling scratchy and burning. She looked at it from the edge of the bed and told me it didnt look that red. I came home and my family is also upset, they were shocked that she just blew off the way my eye looks! Ive never had a doctor make me feel this way! I will wait till tomorrow when my eye doctor and doctors office is open to actually be evaluated! What a joke!

2022-02-17Came in though emergency. Was quickly admitted and put on a gurney. Medication and test were then quickly done and I was taken to a quiet, private room. Excellent care by skilled health professionals.

2022-04-02If you need to go to the ER, if all possible go to Eaton Rapids or Lansing if you want to bee treated with any care or passion. Second visit in last 4 months and nurses and doctors are very rude and seem like they don’t want to bee there. Next time I’m going to Eaton Rapids or Lansing. Thought you would get better care from a small town hospital. 🙁

2021-11-13Not a very friendly place. I was in distress and could catch my breathe and they were only interested in me answering their questions. Never got a breathing treatment or any fluids for being dehydrated. They only ran test to confirm what we already knew then told me I could get dressed and go home. Mind you I couldn’t breathe every time I moved and sat there for a while waiting for someone to hell me out the door. They made me feel like I was an inconvenience and didn’t want to be bothered by me. Wouldn’t recommend this hospital to anyone. Very disappointed 😢

2021-09-16If we get a choice, we always try to utilize this facility. We find everyone to be professional and very nice. Its easy to get in and out for lab work, X-rays and most procedures that are outpatient. I have personally had two major surgeries here and my stays were phenomenal with no issues whatsoever.

2021-07-01Went in because my throat has had pain eating and drinking for about 10 or so days now, first visit they gave me shots thatd help a viral infection, second visit after pain persisted and worsened was prescribed steroids, this morning my throat is swollen like Ive told them and now Ive begone spitting up blood. I WOULD NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL, the doctor that seen me has refused to believe my condition to the point I am more willing to drive all they way to lansing to be PROPERLY AND THOROUGHLY checked for any type of infection or virus.

2021-08-03This is not a hospital! It is an urgent care which are two different things. My daughter went for heavy bleeding and other issues. They did a urine sample and took blood. The doctor lied to her face. Told her nothing was found in her blood yet when she logged into their portal it showed abnormalities. She wasn’t able to log back in afterwards! What kind of hospital doesn’t do any type of testing? They told her to see a specialist! Really?
