All I can say is wow! I came from Shelby Township and was running few minutes late. Came at 9:40 while the kitchen closed at 10. Called in advance and told them I was coming. But when the food came, me and my buddy LOVED IT!! The owner was running the $20 6oz filet special and decided to order two of them for $40, while a regular 12oz would cost $60. The chef cooked it to perfection and the staff made sure I was treated great. Talk about those meatballs...yumm!! Walking into Steven Lellis reminds you of The Godfather movies with the eloquent classic design and the staff wearing tux. Will never feel disappointed and will always come back..well worth the 45 minute drive for me.
Had dinner there last night. Mark the owner came to our table and immediately apologized for being short staffed. The server was great. He was attentive and very engaged in making our experience a great one. Short staffed or not the service was perfect. I had eggplant parmigiana which was spectacular. The pasta dish was cooked to perfection. This is truly a magnificent restaurant. Best food and best experience in town. What a fabulous evening..
Not really sure how to rate this place🤔 Walking up to the doors the first thing I notice is zero pride taken to their flower beds out front, walking into the doors its VeRy beautiful but dusty, The first smell I noticed wasnt a combination of garlic or field greens, but the smell of an old musky dish rag, the tables were nice, Frank Sinatra playing, service was okay, food was decent, my Caesar salad was good, my bowl of pasta was very oily/greasy. **My dessert being the only thing Id write home about. Roasted pineapple, with a slice of ginger cake topped with a mango sorbet, set in the center of a heavy cream with what I believe was a raspberry sauce. So many flavors wrapped together working so well on one plate.
Overpriced and in need of interior updates. Not only was the seating horrible for a table of two because the placed you right in front of bigger parties that had booths but the lighting was terrible I could hardly see the menu let alone what I was eating. I spent 93$ on a 20oz steak although delicious it definitely wasnt 20oz more like 10oz. The sides werent great undercooked string beans I had potatoes that had a film over them from sitting either under a heater or in the oven on keep warm for too long. Even the salad was disappointing. Desert we had the driest chocolate cake I have ever tasted they put some chocolate syrup on there to make it seem fancy but fa from it you could get better at a grocery store. The only reason Im giving them 3 stars is because the staff did a good job checking on us and making sure we were okay I understand they just opened but this isnt a COVID19 safe restaurant. Yes staff wear mask but I got a crumpled up peice of paper as my menu with actually stains from other people handling it visibly present in that dim light.
The food was good but that was the only positive of the entire dining experience. Reservations were made for outdoor seating but upon arrival we were told there was no outdoor seating available. With COVID concerns, we reluctantly sat inside and did not see one staff member wearing a mask. Not even the older gentleman bussing our table who was so close to us it was unacceptable. The waiter highly recommended one particular entree so several of us ordered it. Minutes later he came back and said they were out of it. The noise from other patrons was so loud it was hard to have a conversation. Not a manager in site, just a sign upon entry that said we are short staffed. It was a very unpleasant experience, I would never recommend this restaurant. Had a similar experience there the only other time I tried it several years ago. Prices are ridiculous too along with the required valet parking which seems unnecessary.
We had my boys Fist holy communion party on 5/23/21Everything was perfect the food was delicious the crew was incredible and so helpful. Francis did everything I need to make our party perfect!! This Place is 10/10 and more. We were speechless and everyone was pleased. Thank you again Steven Lellis on the green my new favourite place to have my gatherings and parties👌😘
Delicious food worthy of five star dining experience, however unfortunately, COVID-19 happened. Good place for doctors to eat, nice to have patients lol. I havent been to the Detroit location for a comparison, but probably wouldnt recommend either considering the staffing issues made transparent the moment you step inside. Also prepare to be ignored if you arent anyone corrupted by greed.Awesome foodPay your employees more!!!
This was a special occasion to celebrate my husbands and my birthdays. It had been delayed 4 months because I had spinal surgery. We had a wonderful waitress, but our food took over two hours to arrive! Our soup was great, the drinks were good, but the main course took forever to arrive at our table! And my food took another 10 minutes and seemed burned around the edges. Maybe it was all due to the huge party in the back outdoor room. If we had known it was going to be crowded, we would have come on another night or picked a different restaurant!
During this whole coronavirus pandemic, Lelli’s was still able to accommodate us fairly quickly. The manager Ari made sure everything was taken care of and was very pleasant. Our waitress Patty was exceptional. At the end of the day, Lelli’s lived up to their standards with the food and their service, absolutely amazing. 10/10 would recommend.....
Its really good to know some people out here taking responsibility during this difficult time of the year, helping health care professionals, law enforcement, and homeless people... A lot of business during this time try to do their own, but obviously Lellis Inn is taking responsibility, and feeding people to contribute society.so as a neighbor we need to actually buy food, and gift card to support them...thank you guys for your all good effort.
Made reservations for Saturday dinner Arrived on time, let them know we were here, stepped aside as there were others in line. They proceeded to seat the next three groups then us. Not sure why but ok. We were then taken through the dining room to the outdoor deck which was surprising and seated. There was a large party going on with small kids screaming. Not very pleasant and made conversation challenging. Limited menu, again another surprise. Ordered something different - Fillet with zip sauce. Wasn’t aware my entire dinner would be drenched in butter. Very oily/greasy. Gross. Your guests should be made aware of these things as it not what we expect from Lellis. Very disappointing If this is the new norm. Will definitely dine elsewhere
Came here for our anniversary and decided to sit on the patio on a beautiful night. Felt as if the waiter had the whole restaurant since it took 15 minutes to get initial water and 30 minutes on a refill as well.Other than that, food is excellent and hearty portions. Had the spaghetti with meatballs while my wife had the mushroom pasta which she loved. Will be back.
This place is truly awesome. Great place for romantic date night inside or out. Food is outstanding, as it should be, if your going to go Italian. Carrot cake and coffee is perfect finish to all the culinary delights. Calamari appetizer is heavenly. Just make a reservation and go!!!
Such a great experience every time I dine here! I was feeling a little under the weather most recently and had some soup, very fresh and served hot. I had the Chicken Lelli after and it was delicious, always consistent. Great for events too, I’ve celebrated a birthday and also my sisters communion party in their banquet area. They accommodated about 100 people. Great service and staff. Recommended!
First timers, we went because my Mom was in town and enjoys nice dining experiences. Read some good things about the restaurant so I chose Lelli’s. I’m glad I did. Walking in we met Former World Champion Boxer Tommy “The Hitman Hearns” as well as the owner on their way out. They politely waited, held the door for us and greeted us so warmly. Mr. Hearns said, “take my table when you get inside”.. we felt like royalty from the start. Having spent most my life in swanky NYC and Boston steakhouses, I was swept away by the nostalgia and ambiance this gem of a restaurant exuded. Sinatra on the speakers, and leather seats with chandeliers and red velvet drapes made me feel like I was back in a celebrity 5 star restaurant in NYC. The food was spot on. Let me highly recommend the best minestrone soup in the world. Amazing. Don’t go with the salad- take that soup. Trust me. The wife and I have been to the best steak places in Detroit, Prime and Proper, Marrow, London Chop House, etc. Glad we saved ourselves the trip and went to Lelli’s. Steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce was miraculous. Couple of hiccups on the service but as to be expected during a pandemic when bus service and typical operations are difficult, we didn’t feel ignored. We will certainly be back, and frequently. No need to drive to Detroit when we have a 5 star gold standard establishment right here in Oakland County.
One of the best Italian steakhouses around. Service is top notch, food is always great, and the ambiance is excellent. The owner, Mark, is almost always around interacting with guests and making sure the place runs smoothly. I have never been disappointed with a meal here. Far and away my favorite place to go for spaghetti and meatballs.
Our experience was mediocre. And the only reason I said that was because our food took 2 hours to get to our table. The food when it finally arrived was great. Apparently, there was a new chef that night ( I totally understood because I have 2 chefs in my family sometimes you get slammed). Mezra and Rod were superb. Actually the entire staff was great. So my overall feelings about this restaurant is give it a try. The ambience is nice. The music is calming. The staff is great! I would give it a 5-star but my food was late. Sorry I like to eat on time. 😁
First time at Lelli’s this past Valentine’s Day weekend and I loved it. The minestrone soup is delicious...definitely a good choice as an appetizer. The filet was hands down the most tender I’ve ever had it and very flavorful. The lemon ice is also really good for dessert. Overall this place has a great atmosphere and is perfect for a date night. Mark, the owner, is very engaged and interactive with guests!
My family has been going to Lelli’s, not for years, for generations... from the original on Woodward, to the Pontiac location, and now the this one. We ate here tonight and it was every bit as good as its ever been. Lorenzo provided great service. The minestrone soup is the best you’ll ever have. The filet with the zip sauce is always melt in your mouth perfect. We love this place.
Private party with excellent service and staff. Hors doeuvres were fabulous and the supper unbelievably good. From the salad through the main course I have zero complaints. Beef SO tender and full of flavor, shrimp excellent and my wife had the egg plant which she loved. Definitely a do again! Thanks!
I am looking for reservations for my anniversary. The comment from management on a review left 3 days ago is a complete embarrassment to your establishment and enough for me to not even consider eating here. Personal attacks on your customers? They cant afford it? Wow.
A wonderful dining experience all the way around. The filet were amazing and salmon excellent. We opted the the extras which included a small plate of antipasto, the best minestrone ever and the pasta bolognese that I devoured, all before the main course arrived. Needless to say we brought home a bag of leftovers. Will be back! Thank you for your hospitality Ari and terrific service Sandy.
I went for the Mothers Day brunch with my family. The food seemed to be set up late, and none of the dishes were labeled. All the dishes had serving spoons, when some things clearly needed tongs, especially the bacon and sausage. It wasnt even half full inside yet, but the staff seemed extremely busy. Our server was friendly and funny, but unfortunately forgot things and also had to correct our bill. The food was good, but some of it was cold. For the price, I wouldnt risk going again.
Amazing selection of food and wines with an even more amazing interior. The owner, Mark, ensures that every table is being taking care of, and is a great character. The filet mignon was also phenomenal! Staff in general is extremely well-prepared and super friendly, and the overall atmosphere is very unique. Lelli’s is welcoming of all ages, and is a family-friendly environment. Highly recommend for private events as well— their buffet options are some of the best in the state.
Finally the restaurant have open back up and decided to join my family for birthday celebration during lock down. It was our first time and guest second time going. Well, the waitress running around and unable to give us some quailty time. Food started with being out of our appetizer. Then we waited for 2 hrs for our food. Wasnt hungary when it can. Had to ask for salt, pepper, parmesan chees and bread. Was not inpressed and will not be returning .
My first experience at Steve Lillies on the green was Awesome. Service was excellent our server Dale was the best very personable and attentive. The food was delicious and very appealing to the eye. Atmosphere was classic along with old Blue eyes playing in the background. The owner Mark came and interacted with our table and was extremely nice. This was my first experience however or will not be my last
There is a lot to say about this fantastic restaurant. What a great place to be!!!! High-quality and delicious food! Outstanding service. Very professional. Very clean. Very friendly and welcoming faces. We are always kindly greeted by all of the wonderful staff members who work hard to accommodate all of their customers! This is a perfect place for a night out with friends/family or any special occasion especially if you are looking for an Excellent dining experience. We love Lelli’s!!!!
Lorenzo was our server. Unfortunately, right after Valentines Day, they were out of mussels and escargot. However, between the service and the food, the compensation was superb. After the meal, Mark the owner came out. Wonderful guy. Asked how our experience was and treated us to dessert. Lorenzo was also very accommodating. I’m very happy to recommend this place for an intimate dinner with a lively Italian vibe. Loved it!Hey Mark! Here’s my shout out!!! 👍🏽Thanks again man!
Took my wife here for the first time on a recommendation from a friend on Valentines Day and I was not disappointed. we were seated immediately for our reservation and despite a packed restaurant every Waiter/ waitress was attentive and even if your specific waiter could not come to the table the Busboys and waiters walking by would also contribute if needed without being asked. The food was perfect we tried new foods we have never tried before and now love. I ordered the filet medium Plus which is a step towards medium well and it came out absolutely perfect in my wifes filet ordered medium well came exactly as described This will be on our destination for special occasions for my family and friends for years to come. The ambience is amazing and a great experience needed to try at least once in a lifetime. There was a loud party in the back room however but it was not the restaurants fault its a matter of poor etiquette on behalf of the customers.
If you’re looking for great Italian food, then this is the place. I’ve dined here many times, and I’ve always been thrilled with both the food and the service. The wait staff is excellent, and you can tell they are committed to quality as the owner is always around checking up on his guests. Truly, this is the best Italian spot in Michigan.
My family and I have been going to Lellis since the original in Auburn Hills, before this location even opened, and it is usually phenomenal. However, the mothers day brunch was severely lacking. Every year since they started doing the brunch it has gone downhill drastically so the point that it was really a waste of money and we will be making reservations somewhere else next year. The amount of food on the buffet dwindles down each year, the options were lackluster and the food itself was subpar. Additionally, the atmosphere which is usually wonderful, was not at all and did not look like an upscale restaurant should. The plate station was almost always empty, there was no clear beginning or end of the buffet line, and the omelette station kept running out of toppings and was just a mess. It was very chaotic and underwhelming, I understand trying something new but lellis needs to stick with what its good at and just stop doing brunches altogether.
Been here several times and this last time we were very disappointed. The meat on the antipasto tray wasnt fresh (looked gray). The spaghetti (meat sauce) was extremely slimmy. We ordered surf and turf (lobster tails) that were mushy. For s $300.00 bill, very disappointed ☹️
We made a reservation at Lellis because of the good food and service that we had had when Lellis was in Downtown Detroit. It was just a blah experience in Farmington Hills. We were celebrating a 65th wedding anniversary and a birthday. First of all we ordered our drinks to make a toast. A couple of martinis were delivered and then it took another 20 minutes for the balance of the drinks to be delivered. So while we waited for everyone else to get served, our martinis got warm and we could not make a toast. There were supposed to be blue cheese olives in our martinis, they were just regular olives. Our dinners had the same poor coordination. The last meal was delivered after her husband had completely finished his meal. We had to stop the bus boy to order our wine. We had coffee with our dessert, but couldnt seem to get a coffee refill. This was not a good experience. When the food came it was fine. The problem was not with the food.
This is by far one of our favorite restaurants. From start to finish its perfection. We love the appetizer plate, the soup, the salad and we have never had a bad meal regardless of what we order. Huge portions ! We come here for Special occasions and just as an every day type meal !!! Our happy place!
Worst service ever. The waiter put in the wrong order to the cook. He brought out the wrong meal and tried to convince us to take it as is. My wife turned the meal away but took the side dish of pasta. My son ordered a Lelli burger which includes bacon. The burger did not have bacon. The waiter tried to convince us that the bacon was not standard and since we got fries, we did not get bacon. We had to go show him the menu to prove it. So the waiter brought us a bowl of bacon bits that are used on a salad. We spoke with the manager and he took off the incorrect meal but added the side of pasta. Now I am really upset. I asked if they are going to charge us for the pasta, what is the discount for the missing bacon. Eventually we got another $4 discount. The owner who was working the room until we had a problem was hiding in the kitchen. He was too busy to talk to us but said we could go see him in the kitchen. I am pretty sure no other restaurant would allow a customer in the kitchen. So if the had taken of the side pasta before giving us the bill we probably walked away unhappy but not outraged. The waiter was belligerent and the owner would not speak with us.The young manager was sincerely embarrassed and apologized profusely but his hands were tied.Thank you for your response and proving my point exactly. There were only 2 other tables that were occupied at the end of our meal. If the waiter had not been belligerent when dealing with his errors we would have reacted differently. Being charged for the side of pasta that we had to scrape off the plate was the last straw. If you read other reviews you will see this behavior by the wait staff and the manager is not unique.
We had a wonderful experience at Lelli’s for our Valentines dinner. We sat at the bar prior to our reservation and were taken care of by the bartender, Nick, who was very acomdating and prompt. We were then sat in the red room and enjoyed a beautiful dinner (highly recommend the filet) where we were checked on multiple times by the owner and served by Sanford who was funny and attentive. We had an incredible evening and would recommend coming for any special occasion. The ambiance was romantic and “old school” in the best way. Enjoy!
I enjoyed myself at Steven Lellis Inn On The Green. The facility is so calm and relaxing. To look out and view the golf course and players was even more special. The Staff members were courteous, and professional. The food was very delicious and the facility was extremely cleaned. I would recommend this place to any one who would want a (FIVE STAR PLUS RATING)
Some of the best phone I’ve ever eaten. The shrimp and chicken Lelli is amazing. The palomino and bolognese is delicious. Theirs steaks and chateaubriand are fantastic, really can’t say enough great things about the place. The management and ownership team make you feel at home. For a fine dining experience please go give it a try.
Had my work Holiday Luncheon there on Friday -- they did a great job. Space was done well, staff was friendly and on-point. Food was, per the usual with this restaurant, outstanding. Their minestrone continues to be the best in the Detroit Metro Area. Highly recommend.
I’m new to the Novi area but this place had been recommended to me by a friend. It did NOT disappoint. Greeted by a cheerful hostess, seated immediately. Our waitress was wonderful. Had a filet which was delicious. Waitress and staff handled our custom requests with grace and success. The patio was beautiful and romantic. Will definitely return!
Can not express how disappointed the evening was. We had a surprise Birthday party reservation that we were seated 45 min. late for. Then it took 2 1/2 hours to get our food which made us late for our next reservation. After all that our waitress gave us a hard time because she felt she should have been given a Christmas tip. 1st and last time they will see us!
My buddy took me here bragging about how amazing it was. He was definitely right, had a great Filet for a amazing price of $20!!! Couldn’t believe it. Zip sauce can be a little thicker but was also very good!! Thanks A lot Mark for the great experience, this place is a must try!!
Steven Lellis on the Green is a wonderful dining experience with amazing food presented beautifully. The staff is fantastic and give superb service. My husband and I love coming to this restaurant. All the senses are awakened from the moment you sit down to the last bite. Your host, owner Mark Zarkin makes every patron feel welcomed, and adds even more class and enjoyment to the whole dining experience.
The best minestrone soup I’ve ever had. Highly recommend Chicken Lelli. My husband had Shrimp Lelli. Fantastic atmosphere, fantastic service. Wonderful wait staff. Great selection of wine. The wine that Mark picked for us was fantastic. He runs a top notch restaurant and the desserts were out of this world.
Good food nice atmosphere but the facilities are getting shabby. In response to the owners comment, in the front of the building, right next to the entrance there is a window ledge that is completely rotted out and falling off. The eaves of the building are in only slightly better condition. This is the first thing a customer sees as they approach the building. In addition, the lights were all extremely dust covered and looked like they havent been cleaned in years.
Like stepping back in time. Such an elegant restaurant with amazing service. I loved my Veal Piccatta entree and others enjoyed different Filet entrees. For $14 extra, you can select a 6 course meal. You definitely need to add this on as well. You need to go to Lellis, you wont leave hungry!
Lelli’s on the green is hands down a Michigan icon and will always be with the amazing food/service and brilliant atmosphere. Where can I start the food is very delicious. This is a place where you finish everything on your plate. The six course is a must have. The decor of the place is genuine and ties together very well. I will continue to come to Lelli’s like always! Thank you Mark! Truly a 5 star experience
Excellent food, and PHENOMENAL service!! This place is amazing! Had such a beautiful ambience and romantic vibe. The booths/tables are so lovely and our food was cooked amazingly. So much flavor in the filet mignon and the shrimp Lelli is to die for!! Our waiter Scott was an absolute gentlemen and gave us amazing service. Nicole is also an absolute sweetheart, and so professional! Go and see them!!! Prices were great, and you get so much for your money. I highly suggest taking your S.O here for a birthday, or anniversary, or just because. I will be back here for sure more!
I was there for a memorial dinner and the staff was outstanding. We had a 5 course meal with a choice of 5 entres. What we couldnt finish we got to take with us. The restaurant is a 4th generation family business and the decor is super. Loved all the photos lining the walls
Lellis is our favorite place to dine in the area. The food is always amazing and the service cannot be beat.My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary on an evening when the restaurant is typically closed, the owner, Mark came to the rescue by making a special exception and allowed us in.Needless to say, the private dining experience combined with a top notch meal made the occasion truly special.Well definitely be back.
I had no idea of this place until my father took me, and all I have to say is excellent! The calamari was actual calamari not that red Lobster bread rings the salad was amazing and the best part was the Parmesan cheese I hate that gimmick you get a Olive Garden with the cheese grinder it should be like a powder and the sea bass was so fresh I tried my fathers steak and it just melted in my mouth... but I think the absolute best part was dessert! The carrot cake were to die for cannoli and the Tiramisu was authentic like it was right out of Italy. Last but not lest our waiter was a good conversationalist and an all around great man and the building was beautiful inside and out very professional thank you!
My go to favorite restaurant. Love the place. The ambience, the service second to none, and of course the steak is great every time. I will say, however, watch holidays when they are super busy. Sometimes not the best but hey its the holidays. Go any other time and its the best. Highly recommend it. See you there.
We visit Lellis on special occasions. We celebrated a birthday dinner on 2-24-17 at Lellis on the Green. Our server was Elizabeth and she took good care of us. Our son (the birthday boy) ordered the special steak of the night --the Butchers Butter. It arrived overly seasoned and very salty. He could not eat it. When we mentioned it to Elizabeth the manager had the chef come out and explain how he seasoned the steak. He explained in detail his process and then walked away. We paid our bill of $350 (4 people) and left. We paid for 5 star service and did not get it.
We sat at the bar. When I asked the bartender if they had blue cheese stuffed olives, she replied, Of course. Turns out, its Gorgonzola stuffed which was terrible. Then we had to wait a while before they returned to take our appetizer order. Waited 30min for the appetizer to arrive (and it wasnt very good at all). Considering the prices on the menu, I would expect a level of service and food much higher then they deliver. There are many other places that serve better food and service for a much lower price.
My family and I attended a family members Baptism celebration recently at Steven Lellis Inn on the Green and from the moment we where greeted by the owner Mark and his staff at the door everything was wonderful. The service and servers where excellent, food was served on time and was wonderful. We had an amazing time and we look forward to returning soon.
I celebrated Valentine’s Day in Sat with my girlfriend the food was the best I ever had . I recommend the Filet with zip sauce , and make sure you try the spaghetti with meat sauce . Don’t forget the Carrott Cake ,and Chocalate Cake you won’t be disappointed . Have a drink before dinner with Nick at the bar he was amazing . Mark was a amazing host he checked on our table 3 times . if I could give this place 10 stars I would . Experience I will never forget .
Had a party of 16 people, which we called 2 weeks out for a reservation. From the time we sat it was almost 90 minutes before the food was brought out. A couple of people in our party had to go to the bar to get refills on their drinks and water(s). Drinks were generally empty and we all said they could have made a lot more if they brought out replacements for our empty cocktails. One person in our party ordered the Surf and Turf - market price. We knew the 6 oz filet was $40 on it’s own because a couple of us order it, but when my friend got his bill it was $118 for that. So market price for their lobster is about $80, so buyer beware.Overall it was a disappointing experience with the only highlight coming from everyone laughing at our friends over priced meal.
Recently my wife and I visited Michigan from Georgia. My best friend took us to this wonderful restaurant. I was extremely happy with the food. Steak&chop is off the chart. I forgot what my wife had but I do remember her reaction and it was priceless. To my surprise the staff reminded me of the souther hospitality I am used to experiencing. And you cant go wrong with Frank Sinatra playing all night. Loved it. Looking forward to it next year. I wish I could remember the server name. He was a gentlemen and a scholar.
Absolutely amazing! The food was outstanding, and everything was delicious especially the filet mignon and the lobster lelli. The service was impeccable and we could not have asked for a better host with Mark and Fozzi as our waiter. The wine was incredible and it was hands down the best dining experience Ive ever had.
Sadly, Chef John - formerly with the closed Lark restaurant, and more recently the executive chef here, is now taken leave. Fortunately, the current kitchen did very well on Thanksgiving with a prefix choice of brined, tender white turkey breast or braised beef. The sides served family style to our party of 5 were all good each with a nice touch. The ambience of the place still ranks as one of the best in town. It is certainly one of the best eateries in the Farmington- Farmington Hills- Southfield area. Sinatra style songs are played continuously and bring back another era with a lovely eating experience. Dinner here is expensive off the regular menu with the dont miss minestrone soup as good as any in the city. Ask for a small pitcher of hot water to accompany it , if you want to thin this very thick soup. The soup is served warm, so ask for it to be heated if thats how you like it. They are famous here for there filet mignon and New York strip steaks - both with a house zip sauce. You get them very tender and prepared to your liking, but a serving is way too much protein at one sitting ...but take home is always done with a smile. Wine is available by glass or bottle. Usually ordering a house wine by glass is going to be good quality for a fair price, by most folks standards This visit to a yesteryear style of fine dining is very enjoyable. You can bet that Frank is likely going to remind you in song to Do it Your Way..
A fantastic restaurant. A real Italian place where food is high quality and delicious and service is great. Get the full meal with all of the courses - the Minestrone soup is amazing and pasta sauce is made with prime beef. The Spumoni ice cream is the same as when I was young.I love it.
Lellis left a lasting impression on me. In the Farmington Hills theres not many places that can provide a great atmosphere, high quality food, and unique aesthetics all while providing top of the line customer service. The manager himself welcomed me into the restaurant and throughout the meal made sure everything was to my liking. I dont typically leave reviews unless there was an issue involved in my visit, but Lellis is well deserving of this five star rating and my future business.
This is not the fine dining restaurant it believes that it is. I spent a lot of time planning a party for a mile stone birthday to have it end as a failure. The food was cold, my contract indicated bread - there was none, the non-alcoholic beverages were to be by consumption only...meaning only if my guest requested them; they were forced on them, which led to a charge of $3 per drink, the owners wanted to the party music to play at a whisper when the contract indicated 70 decibels. The sad part about it is I could not advocate for my guests because of an illness in my family, which took my attention away from the beautiful party I thought I’d planned. This venue (among other hired services) turned it into a disaster. I wasted a lot of money on this venue. I would not recommend parties at this location. If you do, go with a sit- down dinner. That was what I initially wanted and was swayed toward a strolling meal. And most of all, I have reached out many times afterwards and have been ignored. I’m still devastated.Response to Owner’s note (Nov 1, 2019):Excuse me...how dare you disclose my husband’s personal medical affairs in the web as a response to a failed business event. Your rating was about the party service and nothing about my husband’s illness. Very LOW to introduce that in your defense. My husband did not make these plans with you - I did!!
Thank you for your assistance in helping me arrange what turned about to be a wonderful get together for Stacie. The staff at Lellis was fantastic! (you should know I set the bar high for delivery of amazing customer experiences). Ron and the bartender delivered! Also, the food was excellent as expected. Stacie was the only in town for a short period of time. Therefore, I chose to maintain an intimate group of people for this event due to such a short window to plan. Otherwise I would have had double the people or more experience such outstanding service. I will keep your venue in mind for company team building dinners/events and upcoming 30th anniversary.
Terrible service. Waited over 2 hours for entre. Waiter only asked how we we were doing once. This was a. birthday party gone bad. Their excuses were laughable. Although they were short of help. I wont return so I can pay a $450 dinner bill for 6 and say I enjoyed it. What a waste of a good party ruined by Lellis
Horrible horrible horrible!!!! While the food here was good the service provided just lacked. We booked the terrace for our sons first communion. Two hours between appetizers and lunch. The only thing the owner and his wife do is lie lie lie than they lie to cover up there lies. I definitely would not recommend this venue for anything .
I was in on Christmas Eve celebrating with family and I thought this place was exceptional! We had so much fun. The food, service, and atmosphere are fantastic. I had the chicken lelli and minestrone which I highly recommend! If you’re opting for a salad, their dressing is soooooo good!!!
Horrible experience! Owner treated us like we ate a cheap steak at Applbees. Went here for a bachelor party and spent over 200.00 for 4 people. The food took forever and got nothing but excuses. Finally 2 of 5 meals had steak cooked incorrectly. One has to be actually sent back 3 times. The owner came to table and was really arrogant and not at all sincere. We were attending a late comedy really show and almost missed that! We were given free dessert, which was nothing to write home about..I actually asked the Waiter for a discount or that steak off the bill.....should I really have to ask!!! The bill.came and nothing off!!! What a classless horrible place! ,one owner leaves reviews as a fake customer for his own restaurant. Take your money to a decent restaurant please and dont let a place that plays off the old lellis name take your money!!!! They need to have a zero star option here. Esposito is a much better choice on 14 and Farmington, in my opinion, no place should treat people like this, especially for the prices...Shame on you!!!!!!!!!!!
I always enjoy my lunches and dinners here at Lelli’s. On The Green. The food is always tremendous and the atmosphere is the best in town. This is my favorite restaurant in all of Michigan. Tonight I had the minestrone soup, pasta side and chateaubriand—it was fabulous as usual! Plus, Mark Zarkin is a wonderful host. He always stops by the table to say hello. I would give more than 5 stars if I could!!!!
Headed to Lellis Inn on the Green for a couple of celebrations. An incredible dinner of filets, ribeye, salmon and scallops ushered a wonderful evening to celebrate our sons graduation and daughters taking of the MCAT.The house salad was delightful, along with some wonderful cocktails including my Hendricks martini. The meals arrived shortly thereafter, not rushed, not too late. The signature filet and zip sauce were exactly that signature - and did not disappoint.Fawze was an amazing server, and the team took great care of us. Fawze had a wonderful sense of humor and provided superior service as well as guidance. Our wonderful evening was topped off with dessert consisting of cannoli and teramizu, both of which were great. Thanks for a great evening!
Got the entire family together for Moms 90th Birthday. Horrible service, food was mediocre, at best. The entrees were served 45 mintues after the last course. And when they were served all the Steaks were cold and not cooked properly. For $85.00 a plate, its reasonable to expect them cooked properly and served hot. The waiter was horrible (kind of nuts) and the supporting staff were rude. The owners came to find out all the problems and they did nothing about it. From now, if its Lellis, Im just going to STAY HOME. By the way, I emailed them and they never responded.
Dont be surprised if you have exceptional food at a fine dining establishment. Lellis is no exception. Dont be surprised if you have a superior atmosphere at a fine dining establishment. Lellis is also no exception in this. Whether for a romantic date or for a business dinner you cant go wrong at Lellis. Lellis has an old world feel you will never find at one of those national chain restaurants. Highly recommended.
Restaurant is OK, but they are a terrible neighbor. They hold events outdoors in the summer, with loud music until late at night, many days of the week. Many calls to the restaurant and the police do no good. Last night music was blaring until 11:20 PM (Thursday night!), when the police met with them the 2nd time that night. Could not get go to bed with the music thumping. It is not like we are next door - we are over 1200 feet away, with dense woods between us. Do not support a business that does not care about its neighbors!
Not only is this a destination restaurant youd be proud to bring your out of town guests, Lellis has an unparalleled pedigree and holds a ranking high among the legendary and award-winning Detroit area dining establishments.Heres a twist, I was one of Lellis tuxedo-clad waiters several years ago, and by the end of this August, 2018...have I got something for all the patrons of Lellis to read. While diners can hide behind their reviews, authors cannot hide behind their words.Feeding the mAsses (No, mAsses is not a typo, look closely) is a compilation of true stories about people at their weirdest and worst while dining out; many of which occurred while I served at Lellis. If you think these 1 and 2-Star Reviews are nasty, wait until you read about some of the people Ive served in that glorious restaurant. As for the food...I defy anyone to find a more delectable Chateaubriand on the planet; and few places can compare to Lellis minestrone and other long held family recipes. As for the servers and their service...as I say in my book...EVERYONE should be made to wait tables for two straight weeks before dining out next; youd be amazed at what an unbelievably difficult job serving strangers is, and you might even think twice before submitting a scathing review.I consider waiting tables to be among the noblest professions. They say that if you can become a competent server, and Lellis takes pride in hiring only the best servers in the metropolitan area, you can handle ANY job; because theres so much multitasking involved during the course of a shift on the dining room floor.Lastly, Mark Zarkin is among the last of the great restaurateurs. His hospitality and affability are strong suits as is Frans attention to every finite detail at the host stand and throughout the restaurant. If you read all of the lower-starred reviews, you owe it to yourself to read this glowing one. Cheers to all my old Lellis peeps. I hope to be stopping by soon with my bride. Stay well. I KNOW you EAT well! And that aint Fake News!PS: After reading some of the reviews I stumbled upon one written by a person I served. Not coincidentally, his rating was 1-Star. And, guess what, the full and TRUE STORY of what happened that night at that persons table is one of the favorites of mine in my book. Another coincidence? I think not. Perhaps Ill include their review in that story!
Terrible, ZERO stars. Ive dined at this restaurant on 3 different occasions hoping for better food and service, too no avail, I will never be back. Before you respond, Mr. Zarkin, Ive read your previous responses to bad reviews and its very indicative of how you run your restaurant and treat your customers, your absence of responsibility is astounding. Also, might I suggest you hire someone who has passed the second grade before writing a very condescending paragraph to your patrons with absolutely no punctuation.
The terrace atmosphere and classy, attentive service were lovely; friendly chef came to check on us. Pricy menu was a bit stodgy and could use some reimagination. Food was large and not too fresh. Flavors and textures were one-note and lacked moderation and balance...individual ingredients (like duck) did not shine.
Tonight was our 34th anniversary. Ive been a Lellies customer 25 years till I went three years ago to the Updike restaurant....this Lellies is the restaurant I remember. Filet mignon for two, lobster tail, all the trimmings! Doug was outstanding as our waitor and the recipes were spot on. Thanks for making a special night the way I remember Lellies downtown! My compliments to the chef as well.I highly recommend this 5 star restaurant for that special occasion.
I have never been before, looking at reviews and when the guest say good things the owner doesnt respond. But, when there is bad reviews the owner slams the customer. Not good for business, a better approach is to be humble and apologetic. You have to be able to take criticism in this business. Service may not be good all the time, its a learning experience on how to do better next time. Ill pass...
By far the worst, most unprofessional place to host an event at. Once you have made your reservations and paid your deposit, you will be ignored and have no idea what is going on for your event. Frances does not return your phone calls, instead she will have someone else give you the msg and the person delivering her msg is still unaware of what is going on. The people that answer the phones give you multiple excuses on why things are not organized and why you cannot get a hold of Frances. They say that they will have everything set up long before your event, but when I checked up on the room hours before, nothing was done. In fact, I ended up helping them set up. No matter how many times you tell them something they DONT LISTEN. Very very frustrating. Poor management. Save yourself the stress and headache and go elsewhere.
I was planning to take a group of 7-8 friends here... pictures looked nice.. just thought of reading the reviews... and man, am I disappointed in the responses by the owner to bad reviews... it just tells me what kind of an unprofessional bad person he is... decided to never go here.. Mr. owner, you have no idea how many good customers you are going to loose just because of how you are responding to peoples complaints.. such a waste of a nice place...

2022-07-15Hands down my favorite place to eat a steak other than my backyard. I usually lean towards a dry aged ribeye.. BUT this place has a “Famous Broiled Filet Mignon” that just hits differently.. So good!

2021-02-13Truly one of the best dining experience I’ve had! Mark and his employees went out of their way to serve us. While calamari wasn’t on their menu, Mark made it possible to make it happen. We can’t thank Steven Lellis enough for making our Valentine’s Day weekend so special. We are so excited to be back!

2019-02-08This is a very romantic place. I love the crystal chandeliers, red velvet and leather upholstered furniture and the dim light setting. The bathrooms were so beautifully appointed as well. The service is excellent and the food is good.

2018-12-18Steven Lellis Inn is an old-fashioned, classic Italian Restaurant Steak House. Dark walls and dramatic red velvet curtains, a bit dark, despite chandeliers.Attended a birthday party dinner there, although the food was good, service was rather slow(for such a large party, more than 1 server would have been more appropriate) and we were the only guests in the restaurant for the first hour or so.

2018-04-26This restaurant is simple the best you can find. Their stake is always perfect, it doesnt matter if you order it raw or done, it always taste perfect. The service is always amazing. The mussels are not from this world, the palomino sauce is like my son says A party in my mouth, try the creme brulee if you have a chance. Amazing place and amazing people.

2021-02-15This place was on point when it comes to ambience!! Everything was fresh & but felt like the food could have gone a level up. All staff wore masks and there was no wait time. Our waiter was very polite, helpful & attentive.

2020-06-23Always a fantastic experience with upscale and comfortable decor. The food is outstanding, and the service excellent. We have tried several entrees, but keep coming back to the filet with zip sauce or filet & lobster tail. Although very pricey, we have never found a better lobster anywhere in the country.
