Even as a native Detroiter I didnt realize this museum was here. Thrilled to have been invited and share this hidden gem with others. Also what impressed me were the artifacts that are here. For Detroiters and those who visit the D, you want to see this historic site dedicated to techno music. First we have the Motown Museum, now Submerge the Museum for Techno.

5 stars for historic value. Detroit is home to at least 2 major cultural movements in music, and this place represents for the younger Techno scene. Museum on the main floor and record store in the basement. You will not be able to find Katy Perry on vinyl here, and you shouldnt ever expect to. Theres a larger than slim chance that youll encounter a friendly yet legendary DJ or 2 just for stopping by.

Legendary home of Detroit techno. You need to call ahead or get in touch with them somehow but it is so worth it. You have a good chance of meeting some legends and they have an unparalleled collection of UR records as well as old Metroplex records and newer Detroit electronic music.
