My girlfriend and I was in the area for the weekend and decided to stay here. Beds and pillows were very comfortable!! No weird smells or anything! The pool was nice but a little dirty (had some bugs in it). Breakfast was very basic but was better than nothing. If Im in the area again I would consider staying here just because of the beds! Had a great nights sleep!! Thank you!!
Room looked nice, but the peep hole in the door was falling out, the lamp between the beds couldnβt be used because the wall socket wouldnβt work, the bathroom light was flickering weirdly.Breakfast-the cinnamon rolls were hard and dry. The waffles were frozen type and were dry and weird tasting. The yogurt and coffee were good.
Simple check-in. Bed was very comfortable and room was clean. (Just remember to plug in your fridge if you will be using it.) Room backed to the woods, so watching the birds was a pleasant wake-up! Lighting over sink is low lighting so if primping is of importance...you may want to sit by the window instead. :) Quick and easy check-out. Did not have breakfast, so no comment. Super convenient to 127 | I-75 & 72!
We stayed at the hotel during the Memorial Day holiday. It was clean and comfortable. We did not use the pool or the breakfast. My only complaint was the reservation service. I booked the hotel directly through the hotels website for $64/night. After the sale was complete I noticed a 55% tax recovery fee on the bill. This wouldnt have been that big of an issue if they would have mentioned it before purchasing the non-cancelable room. I just want to caution buyers of the hidden tax on their room.
Last minute road trip. Everything was either booked or overly expensive. So as i was googling every place to call, I came to Super 8. As i called, it was not a direct call to the hotel. It was a customer advocate who helps books ect, phone call was a bit long but that was having technical difficulties on her end. (No biggie, it happens!)We got it 100 or more dollars cheaper than any other place. Now I used to travel a lot in my younger days and my experiences hasnt been the best. Usually run down at a Super 8.I was quite surprised when getting into the room. It was very clean. Customer service was great and it appeared to have been somewhat updated. You can tell there were some patch work done inside but some people are just wild. So no fault of the hotel. Floor was noisy but again its an older hotel.I would definitely stay here again.
Room was very clean. Shower is for people 5β and shorter. Lolbed was comfortable. Area was very quiet. Chrissy was very professional, friendly and knowledgable about area and things to do. Would recommend for anyone who needs a break from a crazy schedule or just some peace and quiet. Prices are reasonable.
The rooms are a little outdated. Beds were comfortable and clean. Was a little disappointed in the breakfast all they have is bagels some cereal. Would of like to see eggs and sausage something hot meal wise. Even being by a truck stop you dont really hear them. If you are snowmobile or sxs the trail head is right there.
Desk clerk Grant was one of the most personable and helpful hotel staff ive run into, including high end hotels. The room was large and appeared clean. The building on the whole seems older and in need of some updating, but nothing to complain about. Very inexpensive laundry machines....$3 to read and dry full load on heavy duty wash setting.
This Super 8 stands alone in the 8 franchise. Remarkably clean, well kept property, professional and friendly staff and super rates. I having stayed at Super 8βs all over the nation in my work and I put this one easily in the Top three. Sadly other such Super 8βs donβt even compare. Iβll be continuing to stay here if anywhere in a 50 mile radius.
Check in was easy. No problems there, staff was very friendly. The room was super clean and smelled nice. Everything worked fine. The pool and hot tub was open, and they served breakfast (not sure what, because I didnt check it out). The only thing that bothered me was that if you stay more than one night, house keeping will not clean your room, because of the COVID rules, which is understandable, but the front desk didnt notify us about it and there was no sign (I did notice a sign at check out, which I think was put there later). So we had to go get fresh towels every day, which they provided at the desk with no problems. Other than that, everything was great! Well definitely return.
Booked a Jacuzzi room a few weeks before our stay. When we arrived asked the girl at front desk to have us as far away as possible from the stairs she put us right next to stairs. Got into the room and very excited to see the Jacuzzi, very dissatisfied its nothing but a jet tub in the toilet room. Will not be back, very loud didnt sleep at all. Do not get a room by the stairs. You will hear every person going up and down them all night kind. And the girl at front desk could have at least said welcome to the hotel when we arrived. Pool and hot was nice thats about it.
Positive: Modern and clean. Room service was very persistent in trying to clean room. Check out was at 1100 but they were opening door coming into room about 0945 and again about 1015. We were out of room by 1100 without further interruptions. Negative: Location was out of town.
Check in was easy. The staff was friendly. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The pool and jacuzzi were nice also. The breakfast was OK. There was always plenty of food. I just wish there had been sausage, bacon, or scrambled eggs. I would definitely stay here again.
We were disappointed in the smell of our rooms and in the unsafe feel to the accessible bathroom. We also walked into a freezing cold room with appliances unplugged. Lastly, there didnt seem to be any extra COVID precautions taken and even breakfast was a serve yourself closed in area.
Incredibly friendly staff. Room was super clean and stocked with everything that should be there. Hot tub was working and wonderful. Friendly and clean. The pool needs some attention but I let the staff know. Good possibility that the pump quit working. I wont hold that against them. Absolutely amazing friendly staff. Clean room. Clean hotel. Hot tub was amazing. I would definitely stay here again
Friendly staff, good prices, and comfortable beds. The pool and hot tub were wonderful. Could have used a microwave in the room, but that wasnt really a big deal. Breakfast was standard continental breakfast fare: bagels, toaster waffles, cereal, coffee, juice, stuff like that. Not a bad place to stay overall.
Second year in a row we have stayed here. For the money, it is very nice. Clean rooms, and decent free breakfast. Plus hot tub and pool. Only suggestion I have would be to have the housekeeping staff use a tooth brush around drains and faucet edges. Other than that, we are very happy with the quality of the hotel.
I took my son to super 8 to enjoy the pool, unfortunately the water was really cold. Unlike the last time I took him a month ago. I couldnt even swim, felt like a river. Hot tub was barley warm. I asked if theyd turn it up, but they said no. We were disappointed. The area was pretty dirty. Hair and dirt in hot tube and walls. Hoping for a better experience
Great service, friendly staff, clean facility. Their breakfast selection was great and the staff refills items as they were running low. They helped us more to another room when the a/c went out and were very nice about it. We stayed 3 nights and have no complaint. They were even nice enough to watch my laundry for me because I was to tired to stay and finish them the front desk even folded them for me.
Our room smelt like cigarettes when we first went in. They were quick to switch us rooms which was nice. It was a decent place too stay. Nothing fancy. Water pressure in shower isnt that great. The morning breakfast is ok. They dont have a ton of options. No sausage or eggs. Very limited seating in breakfast area. The pool and hot tub are super nice! Everything is very clean.
Horrible! The desk staff was extremely rude. The window in my room was literally held together with tape! The shower curtain was hanging off the rod and needed to be replaced. The description of the room said there was a safe. There wasnt. And during ourr last night, the whole place smelled of pot so bad that I actually felt nauseated.
Ugh... the light above the sink would not turn on. Flashed and flashed! Thank goodness i didnt need to put makeup on. The sink was stopped up. The fridge wasnt working. We questioned the front desk we were told to let someone know in the morning. Yeah... it wasnt plugged in. We checked that.. but the plug was twisted around another cord looking like it was plugged in πStayed at the Ramada on the way home!
Originally, we were calling to make a reservation somewhere else but they were full and recommended we go to the super 8 down the road. So happy we did!! Very clean, MODERN, looks like they updated recently. Cute art work, carpet and comforters!!! Also, they have free breakfast. We are very happy with our stay and have no complaints!!
Me and my family got two rooms at this spacific location, it does have a pool the continental breakfast was okay there was a missing light socket cover and a wire hanging down in our refrigerator but besides all that it was a safe trip we had a great day. The best part was being able to hit the orv trail right next to the hotel.. God bless America
Rooms were a little outdated but not that bad. The beds were mediocre. TV was super small. Hot tub and pool were great. The only food right by it was a gas station with an Arbys in it but the lady at the front desk said Pizza Hut delivered there. Overall a good stay.
The rooms are very clean. The staff is very friendly. The continental breakfast is what youd expect. The location is very convenient as there is a gas station within walking distance and restaurants are one exit to the north. The rooms boast of the wildlife that could be seen from your window as the location is rustic and quiet. The only downside is that there is a fee to use the pool.
I needed a room and was able to get one, finally at a decent price. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The pool was nice, but I did not need it. The other guests enjoyed it. The room was clean and gave me good nights sleep that was of great help to me as I had to travel back to my home of crystal lake, Illinois in the morning.
Our stay was peaceful and the room was clean. The mattress was comfortable but did slope towards the middle which is great for couples who have drifted apart over the years. The staff was friendly, but the breakfast was lacking. Ive stayed at other Super 8s that have offered a larger selection of breakfast foods. If I were in the neighborhood I would stay here again for the price.
The service counter is clean and friendly. They are very helpful on finding anything and printing off directions to those that dont have smart phones or GPS. The rooms are VERY clean and I was surprised the handicap accessible room is very well equipped with a phone next to the bed side and one beside the toilet connected to the wall. The shower is very roomy with hands rails into and around the shower walls. There is also a handicap shower stool Im the corner to use as well. Overall... If my grandparents were around Id definitely recommend that they stay here on a trip.
Room was clean and comfortable enough for a budget hotel, but beware pets are allowed in this hotel. I was woken up by a yapping dog in the room next door well before 7AM and the dog continued to whine for the next 45 minutes until the staff intervened and the owner returned to the room. I didnt know this, but pet-friendly hotels are a thing now... going forward Ill have to start checking for this before booking a room. This type of disturbance should never happen. Also worth noting the walls are thin in this hotel and I could hear various guest TVs well into the wee hours of the morning.
I love staying in Super 8 Hotels - I find them a great deal for the price. This place left me not wanting to return.Check in was fast and prompt. Room located on first floor near the pool which made it very noisy. Also, parking was very close to the windows, making it hard to relax for the next days drive. I know those are things outside of the hotels control. However, when we booked we were told this place was recently updated and had kitchenette amenities. As soon as you open the door, youre greeted with an outdated bathroom sink. The updates looked to be bedding, maybe paint and the focus wall on the headboard side with a large picture above the bed. The air conditioning was not fully functional, which was a little frustrating but it wasnt going to be enough to make me switch rooms for a night. Kitchenette amenities only included a small unplugged refrigerator and a coffee pot on a table. At other Super 8 Hotels, we have had a microwave and at the very least, the fridge was plugged in and not old, out of place and mismatched. The pool was dirty on top of all things. The bed was amazingly comfortable and clean. We had plenty of clean towels and so on. We stayed for breakfast too. They did not offer a lot of the similar fare like most Super 8s do - a big one was the lack of fresh fruit. It pretty well came down to the noise and promises that werent there.
Amazing Hotel to stay at with amazing staff! And it is Pet Friendly which is awesome! Always super peaceful & super clean! Housekeepers do a fantastic job & they are extremely polite & always have smiles on there faces! Itβs the only place I will stay when I am in Crawford County/Grayling area!
This by far was one of the best hotel stays I have had in awhile. We were on a family vacation and this hotel is cozy and quiet. April and Tracy are so friendly and very helpful. This is a great Super 8, its clean and the staff is amazing!!! Pool and hot tub are awesome
The first room we got was musty. We opened the door and window to air it out. I later stepped in a puddle of water at the foot of the bed. That was too much. They gave me another room on a floor up and at the other end. Well worth the move. This 2nd room smelled fine. Pretty decent breakfast. Dont be fooled by the pictures. There are a couple common rooms that have been updated. The rest of the hotel is pretty old.
While waiting to check in the gentleman in front of me asked about a room. He said he was a trucker and was given a rate of about $52. I had a reservation made 2 months earlier and was charged $82 for the exact same type room. I asked and the lady at the desk and she said it was something about the truck stop across the street being owned by the same people. I complained to the manager the next morning saying that a $30 price difference seemed excessive. She was polite, but again said it had something to do with the same people owning the truck stop. I left feeling I had been taken advantage of. I could understand if it was 10 bucks or so, but not 30. I should have looked farther as there were several other motels just one exit up. Never again.
The wife and I went there probably three times.. enjoyed watching the black squirrels looking for food in the bird feeders and the black birds chasing them away.Very clean motel and Arbys across the road in walking distance and gas too. A great place to stop and rest on the way up north... or south for that matter.Watched for the bears but didnt see any.. Large wooded area behind them.
The bed was hard and not comfortable, the blanket was as thin as the sheets. Towels small and scratchy. Tv had static every few minutes no matter the station. Pool and Jacuzzi had bugs if not dirty water. Most of the brecfest was good except for the frozen waffles I could buy at the grocery store. The room had a good view out the window, the tv and picture above the bed were updated though everything else was out of date from the carpet to the green chair with a stain. Service was great and friendly. I feel I paid to much for what I got.
Rooms are clean. Depending on which side of building you are, you might get a Forest view or a trucker stop view. Small selection of breakfast food but was stocked well. Tub and toilet in the bathroom, sink just outaide of bath near entrance of room. Friendly staff All in all, a good hotel for the price.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! π² Not even going to bother adding photos because that would do this place too much Justice. With what they charge I was sure there would be decent accommodations. BOY WAS I WRONG!π First I pulled out all of my work gear and clothes and the other 200 pounds worth of stuff that I have to take out of town with me only to find out that they dont even have an elevator so I had to lug everything up the stairs.π€ But no biggie right? I can get over that. Then, I always bring food with me on trips so that I dont have to eat out every meal. After a long trip on the road naturally the first thing I want to do is eat... Especially after carrying all my stuff up the stairs!π© So I start putting a small meal together and looking for the microwave. Oh....NO MICROWAVE in the room??? What decent hotel in this day and age doesnt have a freaking microwave in the room???π€ Got ready to put away some of my clothes...but quite naturally they werent going to fit since the room only has a tiny dresser with two drawers. Frustrated, I went over to Arbys because that is the only place to get food that is relatively nearby. Got back to the hotel... Ate my Arbys... Got ready for bed... But not before picking up a dirty Q-tip left on the floor between the nightstand and the bed.π€’π€’π€’ But wait...theres more! They advertise free breakfast so I figured I might as well go get some. They dont have breakfast! What they do have is cinnamon rolls and orange juice. You can advertise that you have SNACKS... But when you tell an adult that you have BREAKFAST we figure you mean ACTUAL BREAKFAST!π€₯π€₯π€₯ If they charged $45 or $50 a night most of this could be easily overlooked... but for the rates that they want they should be doing a hell of a lot better than this!ππππππππ
There was still shaving cream on the shower wall. As well as hair. The beds were comfortable. Tv was out half the time, and when it wasnt the channels were fuzzy. The guest serve individual think here name was Lee who checked us in was extremely helpful and engaging. Had a smile every time I saw her during our stay. Bit of a noisey place though walls are thin.
This was a great hotel to stay in for the night, it was very clean and the staff for that night was very helpful. On the other hand Im sure if I would have just booked the hotel directly through them I would not be having a problem. Do not book this motel through any traveling website, they will end up taking more money then they really should have.
This was the cheapest place my family and I could find on the way to the Upper Peninsul. It was late at night and was a last minute decision. The place was functional, however the room had a dankness in both appearance and feel. While this place had barely any amenities, the bed and pillows were surprisingly comfortable and I slept great. The continental breakfast consisted of precooked waffles, cereal, hardboiled eggs, packaged cinnamon rolls and coffee/ juice.Overall, not a bad place but certainly not good either. Recommendation is to spend the extra $10 on a better place unless the $10 is needed.
Ive been going to this place since I was a kid. I have a lot of memories here. There experience has always been amazing. The staff make you feel at home. This place has a swimming pool, a hot tub, a game room, and an area to work out. In my opinion nothing can make this place any better
Stayed here four nights was not impressed i called four times to make sure i could get first floor knowing we would be in late every night and out early every morning for fact of visiting family the first morning housekeeping had us as checkout so i had to call the desk to verify we were still in for the next three nights frustrating...our last night there one room beside us was throwing a party i get the busy weekend because everyone getting ready for the marathon for the next weekend and room on the other side us had a baby crying until almost 4 am got no sleep so come checkout next morning i had no energy to even wanna get ready to leave bc the lack of sleep we cant say anything about the breakfast for we never ate there we were just basically there to sleep and barley even did that over priced for our stay with all the inconveniences happening around us while we were there
So the room was affordable and clean but staff is very rude was told there was a game room when there is not was told there was a gym but there is not the hot tub was dirty and had people practically having sex in it in front of children and my wife stepped on a razor blade in the pool our neighbors where up partting all night being loud and very rude and when complained the staff did nothing oh and they advertise fridges in rooms but they do not work other than that great place lol in other words dont waste your time or money

2021-12-30Love this hotel. This place is always my go to when looking for a place in the Grayling area to stay. Rooms are very tidy, clean and beds are always comfortable! Love the jacuzzi tubs in the King rooms. Also love the pool, hottub and, breakfast. Also love the meeting room thats right off the pool area, great for any type of get together like birthday parties or baby showers. Also love the fact that open swimming is available for 5 bucks a person. Always my favorite hotel in the area

2022-02-13Check in girl was more interested in watching tv on her tablet. We found dirty underwear under the bed in our roomβ¦. Room was very poorly cleaned to say the least. Toilet in room 233 barley flushes. Hotel was very outdated. Also there was a fridge and no microwaveβ¦ whatβs the point of a fridge without a microwave to heat up leftovers/bottles. Pool had a film on it and the pool room floor was covered in hair and dirt. It was disgusting. The side entrance door doesnβt lock so safety is also a issue. This is one of the worst hotels weβve ever stayed at. Will not be back.

2021-12-30I absolutely love the fact that they are a pet friendly motel and also have a little play/walking area for dogs. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The staff is always friendly and checking in/out is very easy. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone whos traveling and needing somewhere to stay.

2022-02-12The rooms/hotel is outdated, we booked a room with a queen bed. Its definitely a full. Light in bathroom flickers. Pool area door, windows, and ceiling has rust all over them. Pool had a weird white film on the water. Hottub was dirty. I probably wont stay here again

2022-05-15I wish there was a zero rating. The manager was extremely rude. I had booked a pet friendly room through expedia. I was dropped off at the hotel a little before check in time, which was no problem since I planned to walk my dog. A big storm came over the horizon and the wind started to blow very hard. I ran back to the hotel, expecting that I could sit in the lobby for the short time until my room was ready. The manager started yelling at me and I was ordered to stay outside and that my dog was not allowed in the lobby. The storm had become a downpour with the wind driving the rain sideways under the portico. I and the dog ( who is afraid of storms) got drenched, as the *#@*&*# manager watched from behind the desk. I opened the door to go back in the lobby and ask if there was anywhere I could stand with my dog, that wasnt the lobby. He started screaming at me, ordering me to get outside and find a dry spot, under the portico. He was not only rude, he was attempting to indimidate and bully. At that point, I lost my patience and a pretty loud exchange took place. ONLY then did he begrudgingly tell me that I could stand at the end of the pet friendly room hallway until my room was ready (which any decent person would have done at the outset.) Interestingly, when my ride (who was a male) returned to check in, the manager started to backtrack. Surmise what you will. In addition, the exit door at the end of my hallway leading to the back of the building had no keyless entry and was left unlocked all night. Grayling has a lot of nice folks and many choices for hotels. Go somewhere else.

2022-05-16The location was amazing I dont really know why thats a thing π. I walked in and had to wait for the lady to notice me, and the pool there is amazing. Loved it, just needed to be a bit deeper. And the hot tub made me lightheaded, and made my head feel very hot and found myself not being able to go in there for long periods of time.

2022-01-18Positive: Good location for my purpose. Negative: I think the room was much smaller than claimed 450 sqft. The mattress was a little too soft for my preference (I like a firm mattress.)

2022-06-04I love that they provide a public swimming pool, great place for a birthday party. My family and friends stay there when they come to visit. Great house keeping!!
