Comment: I had a scheduled appointment at 2:30pm Wednesday 8/16/23 for an oil change and tire rotation. Upon arrival I checked in with Ed. I was told I should get a tune up because I have 260K+ miles on this vehicle, and the cost would be around $550. I asked him to check my records because I’ve been regularly servicing this truck at your dealership, since I purchased said truck from you, for over 10 years. Upon checking, he noticed that I had, in fact, just recently had a tune up. After I checked in and waited in the lounge, Ed approached me and said there were a few very minor oil leaks. He showed me some pictures and I asked him for a quote. He said it would take a few days to do this work. When he returned, the quote was for over $2,100 - $300 parts and $1,800 labor. I explained to him that I didnt have any oil leaks on my garage floor, and I couldnt do this service now, and told him I would get back with him. The next day I went to my corporate mechanic, who has serviced my work trucks for the past 20 years. I asked him to give me a quote for fixing these small leaks, replacing gaskets, etc. They put the truck up on the rack and his two mechanics tried to find these leaks. After 30 minutes of trying to find these small leaks, the owner said there are NO leaks! Nothing.Your service department, trying to sell me a tune up that I did not need, then trying to rip me off over 2k for leaks that did not exist, makes me not just disappointed with GMC, but thinking about lodging formal complaints. I’ve purchased three personal trucks from you since 2007, and have serviced them all exclusively there, with you. I’ve now completely lost faith in your service department. At best, they are inept. But worse, they’re possibly trying to boost revenue by intentionally identifying phantom problems.You’ve lost me as a service customer and I’ll never buy another vehicle from your dealership. I won’t hesitate to share my experience with others.

Comment: My Service Technician was polite, knowledgeable, and had time to talk with me. My Sierra 1500 with 3.0 Duramax diesel went in for an oil change, filter change, and 15,000 mile check. The dealership had the special filter and oil in stock. I only waited for about 1 hour, and used my GMC Rewards Points to pay! When they rotated my tires, they reprogrammed the tire positions in my TPM system to show the correct tire locations. My old dealership never did that. Consequently, the front tires showed up on the rear and rear showed on the front. Im very satisfied with the Swickard dealership! Theyre on their A game!

I purchased a brand new GMC Sierra last year that was missing parts. It took 3 months and hours of my life to finally get the parts after dealing with multiple managers and the GM.Now I am dealing with a similar issue. I ordered a Thule luggage compartment for my wife’s Yukon months ago. We paid for it and when we go to pick it up the parts department says we already did, which is obviously not the case. I have called for over a month to remedy the issue and get a refund since ordering a new one is apparently too difficult a task for this dealership. I spoke with several managers who never call me back. I emailed the General Manager, Chance Corbitt, who didn’t even bother to respond to me. Pretty much shows why the dealership is such a disaster.

Comment: My experience started a few days before, I arrived to Silver Star Cadillac.My 2022 Cadillac Escalade was totaled one month after purchase, I just received the notice, the Friday before Labor Day, I could purchase another vehicle.Silver Star Cadillac, had me in a 2023 Cadillac Escalade, on September 9, 2022, two days after my phone call.I tried other dealerships but they did not have the vehicle after I arrived to their location or someone else had placed a down payment on the vehicle, I was told they had available.I started searching again September 7, 2022 and my Wife and I, found the vehicle we where looking for, at Silver Star Cadillac.I sent a few online messages and then ended up on the phone with Lila. Lila answer all my question, sent me information on the vehicle and my Wife an I was very happy, to find someone that could provide the same information, we where looking at on the website.I drove over 2 1/2 hours to the dealership and I was very pleased when I drove on the property. The dealership looked very nice and well kept, I was treated with respected soon as I walked in the door and I did not let them know, I was on the lot. (I have talked to and visited many dealerships since July 2022, I never got treated, this nice.)Lila is very knowledgeable about the vehicles, updated on the chip situations, and very helpful, to make the purchase process go smoothly. (I drove a renter vehicle to the dealership, I did not know if I could drop off the vehicle at this location rental office.Lila checked with the local rental company, while I was in the finance office and everything was arranged for me to drop off the vehicle. Dropping off the rental was just as important as buying the new vehicle to me.Lila, is a very outstanding Salesperson!Justin in finance, what can I say. I have never enjoyed spending a large amount of money before.I had a chip on my shoulders, from the way I was treated at other dealerships and my guard was up.Justin explained everything, line by line, Justin even gave me the biggest education classes on, purchasing a vehicle, when to try for a lower refinance, how to make your money stretch.Justin best information he provide, was how to read my old contract. Once I got home, I looked over my contract and I found over $9,000 in add ons, I did not know was add ons, I was told, it was part of the Dealers Mark Up. I did not have to fight against any hidden fees and sales/ financing reps were truly transparent regarding numbers. I was offered a rental last minute only because I called four times. That morning when I dropped off my car I noticed other clients were being offered rentals from the start, I was not offered the same. The next day I got a phone call and apology from Jack but when I picked up my car it was still dirty, I thought after the great inconvenience that I could at least get a car wash but he told me the car wash was not functioning. All I want at this point is the list of parts my car will need to have the rear driver’s side door lock fixed. I don’t think I’d like to come back to your location for this.

Not the experience we were expecting from cadillac. Again, Krystal was amazing but we were very underwhelmed with the experience that day.

Bret Smith and the team at Silver Star made our car buying experience in these challenging times a stress free and streamlined process. I contacted the dealership via their website to inquire about inbound inventory. Bret answered the query and had all the answers. He laid out what to expect from inbound inventory and let us take a look at the window sticker of a Yukon Denali that fit the bill. We said we were interested and Bret said he would contact us once it showed up. It arrived within the week, and we set up an appointment to come check it out.We were on a time crunch and we were able to preload some of the info by forwarding some license, insurance, and trade-in info ahead of time. When we pulled up the Yukon was parked out front and ready to test drive. Bret met us in the lobby and made sure the kids were comfortable and was a pro from start to finish. From pulling into the parking lot, to driving away with our 2022 Yukon took 3 hours. All the trade, finance, contracts, everything... DONE. The Yukon was detailed and ready to go when we were done signing the documents and off we went.I would recommend anyone interested in a new GMC to head to Thousand Oaks and the team at Silver Star. Not only was it low stress and not a high pressure situation, but even now, there was no dealer mark-up or marked adjustment on the new car. We appreciate that and would give them 6 stars is Google would let me.

Comment: I leased a vehicle back in November that had additional features that were “dealership installed”. Before signing the lease paperwork I come to learn that those items had not yet been installed on the Yukon. I asked to have those items removed from the lease and add other products that would end up costing me more. The sales manager refused to negotiate, so I ended up with several products I didn’t want and adding the things I did want. A few days later several of the missing items came in and I brought the vehicle back to have them installed. Crystal, my saleswomen assured me that the remain items would be in shorty. Months later the last of the items were still not delivered. Long story short, the dealership never ordered the items! Several times I checked in with the saleswoman who sold me the car, she assured me the part was back ordered. Out to frustration, I spoke with the parts department and they told me the item was never ordered. I had to put a call into the general manager of the dealership to get anything done. Took three months for something I didn’t even want in the first place. I could go on and on about the poor communication and customer service. I was really hoping this dealership wasn’t like the others, unfortunately it is. Customer service and honesty is just not a priority here.

They claim they tried to call me but it said mailbox was full. That was not true. I never have a gull mailbox.Called them today and after being on hold for over 10 minutes I hung up and called back and finally was told that I would need a whole new top or a body shop might be able to fix it. I told them I had three different body shops look at it and said it needed a whole new top and the window could not be reset in the top.Called back and was told that my warranty had expired in 2020 which tunrs out was a lie.I called back again and was sent to finance who I told that my contract with Premium Wrap didnt expire until 2025 or 70,000 miles, whichever occurred first. The gentleman from finance looked it up and asked how many miles are on the car. I told him much less than 40,000 miles.He said he would check it out and get back to me. Im still waiting. At the end of the day they wouldnt honor the Premium Wrap I had purchased and they did nothing to help. Oxnard or Simi Valley if you want dealers that care. Anderson Autos doesnt.

I had to get their attention by saying excuse me. Finally, a rep named Jose helped me out.Jose estimated the repair time to be around 2 hours. I said Id be back in 2 1/2 to 3 hours, and to call if there was any delay. No call occurred. Car was not ready until 3 hours and 40 minutes, based on the time stamp on the work order. Jose said it was because they had a repair tech call in sick. Nonetheless, I was never contacted.Furthermore, I asked Jose to update me at around 3 hours and 10 minutes to see when the car would actually be ready. It took him 20 minutes to accomplish that task, and I was advised it would be about 10 minutes more. He was fairly correct with his final time estimate. Jose did maintain a friendly and professional attitude, to his credit.Overall, the experience was unsatisfactory. I will now consider alternate venues for future service on my Enclave.

I went to Silver Star last year around April 2020, I had been experiencing a Service Power Steering and Stabilitrak warning on my instrument panel, when this would happened I would lose all power steering capabilities, but if I was able to stop and turn my vehicle on and off, most the time it would reset. So in April of 2020 I told the service writer of the problem when my truck was in for service, he said I would have to bring it in with the light on, I tried to explain to him that I live 20 miles away and that would not be the safest action to do in Los Angeles traffic, and all it said was to SERVICE the power steering. He just said thats what I would have to do, as you can imagine I was not happy! I was so unhappy, that I went somewhere else to get my vehicles oil changed the next time.Fast forward to June/July 2021, I decided to give Silver Star another chance as I was still having the same above issues with Service Power Steering/Stabilitrak warning. My service writer was MEGHAN HOERNKE, and she was AMAZING!!! Explained my above issues, and she said they would look into it, she arranged a ride home for me and said should be contacting me about the issue. About 2 hours later, she contacted me and said a technician would have to look at it Tuesday and would I be able to bring it in, as I had brought my truck in on a Saturday.Brought my truck in and about 2 hours later Meghan called me and told me they had found error codes with the power steering/stabilitrak and would have to keep the vehicle for 3 days and order/wait for parts. We have an extended warranty for the truck, and Meghan arranged all my rental car needs! In 3 days my truck was fixed and running great, no issue with the power steering or stabilitrak.After my last dealings with the dealership and the previous service writer, Im glad I gave Silver Star a second chance, Meghan went above and beyond, made me feel comfortable and assured me everything would be corrected! Silver Star needs more employees like Meghan! She is a Superstar, makes Silver Star shine.....Thank you,Chris H

Comment: First it was a very disappointing experience this time . it would easy to Blame Covid 19 for the lack of caring and organization, delays in getting parts etc. but to overcharge $305.16 under extended warranty the deductible is $100. and not respond or call to apologize or refund the overcharge, Is the bottom straw. we brought our work GMC work van in for a simple replacement of the slider door handle . something GMC has many problems with and one would think they would stock the part for both the commercial and passenger Savanah vans. first visit May 14, service had van until Monday did not communicate diagnosis nor did they even look at the van until I called to pick it up since it was needed for work . Told the part would be in by Wednesday or Thursday, again no communication with anyone after repeated calls and requests to speak with management . the part was never ordered until May 30 finally serviced on June 3 . by appointment at 9:30 am, it should have taken 1.5 hrs to complete the repair it took 7 hours . We will never use Silverstar Motors for service again

Comment: I have been a Chevy man for over 40 years. I go way back to days at courtesy Chevrolet and great customer service. The process at Silver star from drop of to pick was terrible. Jose didn’t have a clue how to work his iPad and find services available, when asked for direction on repairs I was encouraged to look on Amazon, while he was stumbling around to find codes on the computer 3 other service personnel, including Phillip and Carlos, stood by with no attempt to assist and make my drop off smoother. No one said hi as I entered the service office and there was no friendly Chevy welcome. After many more errors in service and treatment I contacted Carmen the service manager. She was kind on the phone and offered to make sure the paper work would be done and my truck would be washed as a courtesy. When I arrived the truck wasn’t washed and it took Jose over 25 min to figure out the paper work. I’ll be contacting cooperate office regarding the poor service I received. Comment: The sales associate Gilbert Acosta was wondering!! He was informative and very personable. I would recommend him to everyone to assist in your car buying needs!! The finance department on the other hand ruined my experience. He made me feel unimportant and not worth his time. I spent $85,000 at your dealership and when I asked him a question about the options his response was “look I don’t even know what you bought.” We had already completed paperwork that he typed up. His cocky demeanor got worse after I told him I was going to finance elsewhere. He told me that’s how they make money. At that point I would have opted for a high interest rate than to help him make any more money from me. Apparently spending $85,000 at the dealership wasn’t enough to warrant any respect. Again I really enjoyed working with my sales associate Gilbert!!

Comment: I bought a 2020 Sierra Denali. I went to DMV to get my personalized plates transferred only to find out Silver star registered my truck incorrect. The DMV corrected the problem and told me I was due a refund because of Silver stars mistake. After over a year of emails and phone calls to Silver star I gave up. They knew I wouldnt go to small claims for under $300.00 Joe the sales manager tells you want to hear just to get off the phone call but never did a thing about it. The sales person was very personable and was apologetic but just kept handing me over to Joe. I tried to buy from my local dealer but they just dont care about customers after the deal is done.

Comment: My wife and I purchased a 2021 Yukon AT4. Nothing but problems with this dealership from day 1. We drove about 2 hours to this dealership as this particular spec was very hard to find. We already had an approval directly from our credit union so no finance from dealership needed. From the very beginning the “sales manager” Wayne and sales person Ed wanted to run our credits because they needed to determine payoff amount on our Jeep Wrangler we were trading in. I refused to let them run our credits as this was NOT needed to determine payoff amount. I pulled up payoff amount on my app and gave it to them. After about over 6 hours of being at their dealership and what we thought was a done deal, we start getting calls from the sales guy and manager saying that the payoff amount we gave them for the Jeep was wrong and that we were responsible to pay the remaining balance. This dealership never confirmed payoff amount with finance company and now was trying to pin the mistake on us. Both Ed and Wayne were VERY unprofessional screaming at us over the phone saying how it was our fault we gave them the wrong amount and our responsibility to pay it off since it was our car. Mind you we purchased a $80k vehicle from them and gave them $13k down. After a bunch of back and forth with management they only agreed to split the difference in half and I STILL had to pay my old cars note to avoid it being reported as a late payment to the credit companies. Now over 2 months and we still haven’t received plates or registration for vehicle and of course I can’t get ahold of anybody anymore. I’m sorry for such a lengthy review but I wanted to make sure I got everything. This dealership is very unethical, so quick to take your money and just look the other way. STEER CLEAR from this place!!

All items were addressed and requests made upon arrival were confirmed when service was completed. Absolutely outstanding.I was skeptical due to a prior dealings with service where requests were ignored or neglected.This was the first service on the car. An oil drip was noticed on the garage floor. Despite being the end of the day Rebecca asked for me to bring the car back immediately to get it addressed. Being almost 5 PM on a Saturday, this was fantastic. Upon my arrival she already had the ticket prepared and someone ready to take the car back to the technician.Rebecca made me feel as though I was important to her, the dealership and she had my best interests in mind.I manage personnel across the country. We found one at Silver Star Buick, called and made the deal over the phone.We live over 550 miles away so we rented a car and drove over eight hours, staying that night in a motel down the street from Silver Star Buick. We were there as the dealer opened that morning and the internet salesmanager we had dealt with was there to greet us. He showed us the car and we were very pleased as it was just what we wanted.We went inside and he took our paperwork in to his manager who we heard ask, “They drove how far?” He did a search and discovered that there weren’t that many Enclaves available in that color combination. He sent our salesperson back to us with a new offer that raised our agreed upon price by over $7,000.00.Our having previously made a deal carried absolutely no weight with Silver Star Buick.We really wanted this car, however we couldn’t condone this unethical treatment, so we left empty handed. We didn’t drop off our rental car as planned and just drove back home.I suggest that if you are looking to buy a vehicle that an ethical dealership would be a better choice.

Comment: Horrible customer service at this GMC. I got my Acadia and have loved it and GMC. I called GMC and asked them where to turn in the lease, said they could go to any dealership. Walked in to get a new car and turn in my lease here and Ben Prachyl walks up and right away is like no we dont take leases since we are busy here and full. I tell him GMC tells me I can drop if off anywhere and I want to look for a new lease. He doesnt care, walks away twice saying they are a dealership and to call GMC for what to do. GMC says to drop it off there. I ask him about customer service and if he wants me to lease my new car from him.... says he doesnt care and walks away and right to his office.Literally tries to run me around in circles.... go someplace else....

To the frustration, when they checked air bag issue (passenger seat), they forgot to put the buckle back. I have been trying to reach the service guy for last one week to get this fixed. This is horrible experience....

Comment: We had an EXCELLENT experience at Swickard GMC. We took our 2022 vehicle to another GMC dealer who wouldnt address the issue under warranty. At Swickard, Carmen listened to our issue and immediately agreed that it was a warranty issue. The issue was quickly addressed. We also were able to use a loaner vehicle while our vehicle was in the shop which was truly a bonus! We will use Swickard GMC for all our vehicle needs going forward.
