Comment: I had the best experience with Mazda of El Cajon. From the moment I walked in their doors, till the moment I drove off in my new vehicle. My son and I were greeted when we walked in the door. We were offered water, and were made to feel comfortable. Dylan the salesman who attended me, Nick his manager, and Keith the finance manager really listened to what I wanted and didnt want and made it happen. They went above and beyond. I would def recommend El Cajon Mazda to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle

Comment: I should preface to say I did end up purchasing a car here and I’m ultimately happy with my vehicle but the process was nothing short of a headache. I worked with Lauryn who was very professional and lovely to work with. However, as a young woman buying my first car on my own, I came in having done a lot of research knowing that I would be a target to get taken advantage of which they didn’t seem to like or respect. Negotiating with the manager Nick was a nightmare. He was completely disrespectful and degrading towards me and said “I see you came in here with your boxing gloves on.” Attempting to get him to give me the out the door pricing breakdown on paper was like pulling teeth. And even when I told them multiple times and made it extremely clear I was not interested in the several “add ons” they try to up-sale you on, they still relentlessly tried to work it into the deal. This was over $7000 extra of OPTIONAL stuff and definitely not in my budget but they make you feel crazy for declining it. Ultimately I stood my ground and got the deal I wanted but I had to fight for it. And now almost a week later I’m trying to call the finance department to get an electronic copy of my contract sent to me and it’s impossible to get through to someone and they really seem to be intentionally ghosting me. I can’t say I’d recommend this dealership unless you are looking for a typical sleazy, scam-y car buying experience.

Comment: The car I bought that was car faxed and this dealer had this inspection report on it but 90 days later the trans showed sighs that is was bad. I should have bought the extended warranty because I b dont think that Team Mazda did a good job at certifieing this car as a good car worthy of their name. Would not buy from them again. I have bought cars from most of all the locial dealers in the past 35 years but never from them again.

Comment: I leased my car with this team back in 2021(and got an absolutely incredible deal) and came back to see what my options were at lease end. They were mindful of my budget, goals, etc. and offered me two options within my budget: lease a new Mazda CX-5 or finance the residual on my 2021. They gave me time to make an informed decision, weren’t pushy or overselling and gave me yet another great deal.I never leave reviews but this experience was so great that I really wanted to take the time to share. They answered all my questions, didn’t rush me and made sure I walked out feeling confident in my decision. As a woman going in to buy a car alone, it can sometimes be intimidating but this team made me feel at ease and supported. Comment: Can I just say, WOW! What an amazing team down there in El Cajon. I was greeted by Abel who was quick to jump on my request. I had originally had my eye on a used Mazda CX-9. It was in a separate lot, so we began chatting with Ryan while we waited. Ryan got to know us a little as we got to talking. I had explained that I was looking for a new car as my current car had reached 163K miles. We have a 4 month old and it was time to upgrade. As we walked around the lot, my husband starting asking about the new CX-90 on the lot. Boy was she pretty! I had no idea Mazda offered AWD on some vehicles. I was also impressed that it was a 6 cylinder turbo! I hopped in the front seat and tried to hide my excitement. This car was way bigger than my current car and you cant beat that new car smell. Just then, Abel pulled up and we test drove the CX-9. It was alright, but I couldnt stop thinking about the CX-90. We proceeded into the showroom and grabbed a seat with Ryan. I decided to just go for it! I was so happy with my chat with Ryan and Abel. We were all laughing and getting to know each other. I had expressed my concern with the terrible interest rates that I was given at Audi, VW, and Toyota. In comes Nick with a beautiful APR that I couldnt resist! So now I have a new car and a great interest rate. It doesnt stop there! We go upstairs to finalize the deal, and we meet Keith. He starts to go over the finance details and goes over some additional upgrades and coverages. I got to pick and choose what was right for me and my family. So now you can add protection to my list! New car, great rate, and fully covered. I went back downstairs and took a picture with my new car. Hugs were given to my pals at Mazda that made my car buying experience a dream! I pulled out my phone and started my new car with the app that Ryan helped me set up. How cool! I will be seeing them all again when my next service is due. THANK YOU TEAM MAZDA OF EL CAJON!!

Comment: Ryan was amazing everytime I walked in he was johnny on the spot ready to answer any question I had, even technical questions about each vehicle, if he didnt know the answer he was quick to find out.Test drove a cx5 liked it,, Ryan was nothing but amazing the entire time, even on the test drive, where I put the sport mode through itNick one of the managers came in and chatted, instead of Ryan disappearing to go talk to his manager everything was totally transparent,After getting me the best price possible, up to Mr Keith in financing who ran down all my options, I wasnt planning on financing through mazda but he helped me get some extra features I was wanting tied into the final price,Paperwork signed and I drove off in my new cx5Fast foreward to getting the financing through my bank, had to get some bank docs signed back at mazda, as soon as I stepped through the door both Ryan and nick were shaking my hand and congratulating me, I was just a finalized sale they could ignore I was a valued customer still, they got me all the docs and back to the bank to pick up the checkWhen I returned to drop off the final check from financing, Ryan was off which was kinda a bummer but Mr nick was right there helping me finalize everything asking how I was enjoying the rideAll in all my expectations of the dealership experience were shattered, I expected a horrible bargaining experience, horrible attitude towards financing elsewhere but Ryan nick and Keith were amazing!Tldr visit Ryan and nick they will make your car buying experience a breeze

Comment: Overall my experience with them was fine, the staff I worked with was very nice. I honestly can’t remember the workers names. I test drove a Mazda CX-30, wasn’t a fan of how small the inside was so I asked to test drive the Jeep wrangler they had on the lot & a CX-5. They never brought the CX-5 for me to drive, instead brought me another member to sell me the jeep. I specifically asked if the Jeep had CarPlay, they told me yes, it does not. All it has is the ability to do is connect Bluetooth so it can read your texts for you. That would have been a huge dealbreaker for me.The biggest reason for such a low rating is because I specifically said MULTIPLE TIMES. I do NOT want them to run my credit (I was already preapproved through NavyFed). They CONTINUED to run my credit. I had to LOCK my credit through Experian because I kept getting notifications while I was there that they ran my credit & muliple agencies were getting copies of it. This is extremely unprofessional & not okay on any level.

Comment: I was hesitant getting an oil change for my MX5 Miatia, 2019. Last oil change, my husband found a slight nick on my wheel rim after detailing my car. Although, I cannot claim they did it, I know it occurred when they rotated my tires a while back. I pointed this out to Rob. He assured me that the service guy will be careful. I must say that their customer service is excellent & Rob made it seamless & professional. Overall, oil change was quick, included with videos & recommendations to replace tires due to baldness. Rob made it easy to regain that trust. Hopefully, my husband wont find any nicks or scratches on my car after he does his inspection when washing my car.

Comment: 5 stars for Chris 0 for Mike!! Chris didn’t say anything but when I showed up with my 2 kids, but he quietly changed the channel from news to a kids station. I really appreciated his attention to us and the fact I was sitting somewhere boring with 2 children. What I didn’t appreciate, was being told by the woman who collected my keys there was a 1-2 hour wait (reasonable) when pulling up, to Mike telling me there was a 3-4 hour wait. I’ve never waited that long ever and have appreciated the quickness before even without an appointment and have never been told 3-4 hours for a simple oil change. It was very disappointing for him to tell me such an outlandish wait time saying he’s seen it before and wanted to let me know. We watched my car get pulled out front after 45 minutes and watched it sit there for another 20 minutes before I went and asked if it was ready. So there was really less than a hour wait but Mike felt the need to tell me 3-4 hours. That seems unreasonable, and I’m confused by his customer experience tactic there. Very disappointing experience with Mike but thankful for Chris.

Totally surprised by the behind the seen mechanics video that was sent to me as I waited on progress & any issues of the vehicle ! Great tool to acculturate see as they showed 1 st hand on what was being done live shots of inspection check up. Great team work all around definitely satisfied. However, Lulu let me know it would just take a few hours, and it was indeed ready after my post work nap. Getting set up with a courtesy vehicle was fast and simple. No one likes dealing with vehicle repairs, but Team Mazda service made the experience as painless as possible.

Comment: The appointment was ok, with the exception the oil change was finished and they sent a video with items which needed repair or replaced. The car set finished for approximately 45 minutes before I was able to pay for the repairs. One of the items was an air filter, they had taken it out to inspect, why couldn’t they have informed me when the car was being worked on instead after the fact. To replace an airfilter is 48.00 where the part is 27.00 with tax. Also the tire rod is in question. The estimate doesn’t say whether it’s the inner or outer tie rod. The labor is ridiculous. They want to charge over 3,000 for repairs. Also they said the battery needed replacing, when the battery is only 6 months old. Why have a customer wait 45 minutes after repairs are completed in order to pay and leave. It just did not set well with me

I make the appointment online, drop it off, get a loaner car, and then all the results are sent to my phone and I can approve or decline the services recommended, all on my phone! The video of the inspection is very helpful and truly makes me feel like my car is in good, knowledgeable hands! Then I get notified when it’s all ready and done! But if you want more human to human contact, the staff is very friendly and attentive. Mike Auch was my advisor this time and he was very friendly and immediately answered my texts and questions. Comment: Best customer service I have experienced at car dealership. I like going to the service center as much as I like trying to buy a new car. This was a different experience. We took the car to Mazda of El Cajon for warranty work because our normal dealership was backed up for 2 weeks. I had my car back in 2 days. Once it was diagnosed that the parts were covered by warranty, Mike texted me and offered a loaner car at no charge. Usually it’s like pulling teeth to get a free loaner car. We will be taking our Mazda to Ep Cajon Mazda for any maintenance and service needs from now on. Well done Mike, well done.

I’ve been ghosted by these guys after they agreed to fill a window crack from the previous owner, at the time of purchase it was called out and they said it would be filled. I have reached out multiple times and was told they would get back to me and they haven’t. I’ve since reached out again and still nothing. I wouldn’t come here again and would not recommend doing business with them. They will finesse you into buying a car (with much higher payments than you originally agreed you could afford) and then when you need something they disappear. Do better.

It was the first included scheduled maintenance for my lease and it was easy. My only issue is they forgot to top off my wiper fluid (which I mentioned right when I dropped it off) so the light is still on which is pretty annoying. Myself or my husband will top it off and take care of it ourselves. Hopefully the light goes out. 🤞🏼 Not a big deal except I sat in the dealership all morning and it would be nice if everything was handled as it supposed to be. Comment: I called Mr. Mike last week about problems I was having with my nieces 2016 Mazada 3. It was at another shop and the mechanic was having a hard time diagnosing it. The mechanic had it for a week. Needless to say this was as so much stress on us.After listening to me, Mr. Mike took some information from me and gave me some feedback on what it could possibly be. I told him Id have the car towed in. It arrived on his off day, however Julius was helpful in checking the car in. The very next day I spoke with Mr.Mike in the morning and by 11 am the car was fixed and ready to be picked up.I have to say he made me cry by the help he provided to my family. My niece who is a college student, had a warranty that we didnt even know about. Just by Mr. Mike activity listening and addressing the problem and fixing the car so quickly, I cant say enough how much I appreciated that. Comment: I completed a maintenance service for my 2021 Mazda CX-9 Carbon Edition today. I was working with Rob in the service department. I was delighted to have had him as my Service Advisor.I scheduled the appointment in advance and, with it, was in and out in no time. They even replaced the scratched wheelbase molding (caused by me a few months back) I purchased from them. Rob, his staff, and the service technicians were all extremely friendly, professional, and efficient.The price for all the work done today was lower than at other Mazda Dealers.Waiting for the work to be completed, I was comfortable in their lounge reading the newspaper, which I could not finish because they were so efficient in getting the job done.Overall, as always with this team, they provided an exceptional customer experience. I will be back for the next service/car needs.ALSO, I purchased another Mazda from this dealer last year, in 2023. It is always the same great experience, no matter the department. Back then, I worked with Ryan, a sales staff member. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and patient, not making me feel pressured to purchase a car but him advising me along the buying journey to find the right fit vehicle. Comment: Terrible. The sales manager Tim in particular is your typical greedy, arrogant, car salesman. Are you looking for some good down to earth people to give you a good deal on a car? Don’t come here. These guys only care about profit, not their customers.I went here viewing a 2022 CX-5 that was listed at $24,900. Kelly Blue Book has this exact car (certified from dealer value) at $22,000-$24,900. Again, this is using the exact miles, trim, certification… I advised the sales guys the car is on the highest end of price ranges based on other listed CX-5 at other dealerships and by KBB it is a little high. I asked I they can come down even a couple hundred dollars. They refused, printed out some bogus “JD Power Values at $26,800” bogus. Even though CarFax says it is over priced, and so does KBB. I went home and took a day to think about it as to not make a rash decision. I liked my sales rep Dalton so much because he was the ONLY honest, good hearted, genuine human being in the building. Just mainly because of Dalton, I decided I would go back and buy it the next day.This is where it gets worse. The very next day I go back to the dealership to buy the car for $24,900 (still too high. There are 3 other Mazda dealerships selling this EXACT car certified and all for thousands less) but I was going to bite the bullet and buy it. I loaded up my 4 month old baby, my 2 year old daughter, and my breastfeeding wife into our car in the pouring rain and drove 45 min to the ghetto of El Cajon to buy this car. When I sat down to finally do the paperwork, the sales team handed me My new outdoor price. The problem is they raised the price of the car to $25,200 ($300 more than 24 hours ago). I gently advised that I would like them to honor the price I saw yesterday. My sales rep went back to Tim the sales manager who simply refused to lower the price by $300 back to what it was 24 hours ago. At this point, I had wasted almost 2 hours in the pouring rain with my kids crying in the car. I requested to talk to the manager. Tim came out and told me that he sells 80 cars a month and he doesn’t care if I buy this car or not. He was very arrogant and unprofessional. I told him I would buy it at the original price. He refused basically saying he doesn’t need or want my business. It’s a pride thing. Dalton is a wonderful human being just trying to take care of his family and stayed 2 hours late to sell me this car all to have Tim’s pride and ego deny him the sale over $300. I wasn’t asking for a discount, i was simply asking for them to honor yesterday’s price. Go to Mazda of Escondido. They have the same exact car with 7,000 less miles for $1,000 less AND certified. For contrast, my next stop was to Honda down the road. When I asked the Honda dealership for a good deal, they immediately offered to negotiate their already fair price by lowering up to $1,000. Take your business anywhere but this place. Ownership needs to get rid of Tim and stopOver pricing their cars.

My check engine light came on randomly this week, and though it was running fine, I wanted to ensure it was nothing serious. Rob got me in sooner than initially scheduled, clearly outlined what he thought may be the issue and updated me regularly while waiting. The fix was fairly simple and under my warranty. Comment: The repairs seem adequate; however, I was disappointed with the pricing as well as feeling that I had to bargain with my service advisor. I called on the phone first and selected this dealership due to their pricing. When I arrived the pricing was higher and I was going to be charged for services I didn’t need since they were part of a package. Upon inspection, a host of other issues were noted. Some I approved to be addressed since my car was already there and it was time for the services; however the experience seemed more like what I would receive at an oil change shop. In the end, I had to bargain for a price that was more reasonable and the service rep said he would beat any pricing discounts from AAA or Costco. When I went to pay, he did not beat those discounts, so I had to bargain again just to meet their competitor’s discount. Two days later, I took the car for additional service items at another shop and saved 40 percent. On the way to the dealer I was enjoying how my Mazda drove and I actually was looking at new models. On the way home, I drove by a dealership for a different brand. I would not recommend this service department.

All went well, the repair couldn’t be done on day 1 so they gave me a nice new loaner and I pick my car up the next day at 1:00pm. All friendly and helpful. They went through the car and sent a video of their findings and I know what to expect next visit. Mike helped me this time and was helpful and pleasant. 08/23/2023All went smooth, got in on time, got out exactly when then indicated the service would be completed. They send a video of the evaluation so you can see exactly what they are going to repair. Julian was pleasant and helpful. The waiting area is pleasant and clean. My only suggestion is either turn off the tv or the music. Too much back noise. A more generic genre of music would be nice.

Everything is pretty newly built, so it’s very modern and has very nice facilities. There’s a really nice waiting area and they are very quick to service my car. I am always able to make an appointment the same week. The fact that the service department is open on Saturdays is the biggest plus. The employees are very nice and helpful as well. I sent a message to Tee right when they opened the next day, asking if anything could be done to check the car and she said she’d take care of it. A few days later, we got a message that she had recovered my CD! I was so delighted that she remembered and pulled the strings to make that happen before our old car couldn’t be accessed anymore. The CD left in the player was 20 years old! We can’t explain how much that effort meant to us. Google only goes up to five stars, but we’d give ten if we could.Big shout outs to Nick in sales, and Keith, their amazing Finance Manager also. They both were great at locking down a good rate for us, setting up our payment plan, and granting us some leeway to provide Team Mazda with our total down payment in a reasonable timeframe. Comment: Vehicle came in for a rats nest inspection after purchase from Mazda El Cajon, when I received a video of my inspection the technician who recorded the video, never once showed, or addressed the rats nest, or that he inspected the wiring harness, I was not reassured at the rats nest had cause no damage to my brand new vehicle that I purchased two days prior from Mazda El Cajon. When I went to pick up the vehicle after inspection, my service writer, “mike” was only able to show that they had detail the engine bay, after I looked in the area of where the rats nest was I found bite and chew marks on wiring harness, “mike” then looked surprised and had to get 2 other managers to try and help with the situation, after talking with now 3 people they determined that I would be allowed to speak to the technician who would be working on my vehicle, so me and him could come up with a solution to my problem. Overall, my vehicle came in for a rats nest inspection. Comment: First time bringing my car to this Mazda service center. Was greeted quickly and helped promptly. I usually wait for my car and had planned to do some work while waiting. I was genuinely surprised at how quickly my car was ready, roughly 45 minutes. Ive been to other dealerships and Im given a 2 hour wait time. I liked how I received a text with the information about my car and the recommendations and that I could decline or accept the work. Ended up getting my wiper blades changed and that was about about an additional 20 minutes of wait time. Loved the video of my car and the detailed explanation of what everything looked like and the energy of the mechanic explaining everything. Highly enjoyed the speediness of the service. Everyone was very friendly. There was a woman cleaning the tables in the waiting room. She was very friendly and explained which tables you could use to charge your devices and helped me carry all my stuff to one of the tables! Julian was great and super helpful and very friendly. Overall this was a great experience and I will definitely bring my car back!

I moved to San Diego three years ago, but have continued to take my 2014 CX 5 to the dealership I bought it from in Orange County for service. I was so reluctant to switch to a local dealership because I wasn’t sure anyone could have topped the service I have been receiving and the trust I had felt with the prior location. The service I received last week from my service advisor, Julian, was top notch. He answered all of my questions and made sure I was happy with the service. He took time to explain things and was really patient and kind. I left feelingvery comfortable knowing I will receive great service from Julian and Team Mazda El Cajon into the future. I have 115k miles on my car and have never had any issues - I am very happy!

Comment: I had the best experience today, 9/13/23, for my 60,000 mile inspection. The video of the inspection was very educational and I appreciated the recommendation/heads-up for upcoming services as this allows me to plan ahead of time.The waiting area/showroom/bathroom were, as always, super clean and very comfortable. Since weekdays can be less busy, I was able to drive away after 2-1/2 hrs of wait time WITH a washed car (other shops ask to leave the car at their site all day!).The person who made this visit enjoyable was Rob Burden, the Assistant Service Manager. Kudos to him for excellent customer service/people skills, answering all questions, displaying sincere and pleasant demeanor, and exhibiting upbeat/high energy. It showed that he enjoys his work. Keep up the good work.This may sound strange but I think I can say, Ill be back!Thank you again.

Comment: Amazing!!Sold my Fj to carmax had an appointment with Cam but wasnt able to make that appointment. Went in the next day and he was with a customer and his business partner RYAN helped me out. He was very knowledgeable about cars in general and let me drive the 3 I was thinking about. He didnt pressure me to buy something I didnt want. He knew my price and wasnt trying to upsell me to a higher model car. With much thought and honest advice I felt right with the deal I was offered and drove away in a new Mazda CX 5. Anything he didnt know he always came back with that information and more. It was my first time getting a car on my own and I felt very comfortable with my experience. In fact I was told many good things about this dealership that I drove 25 minutes away just to deal with good people. I would definitely recommend this place to people who are looking to buy, lease or even just want more information about cars. Truly no pressure. I cant say enough about those people but most of all RYAN and CAM are definitely good people.!!!
