Comment: I brought my car in and my car was worked on 04/02/2024. My car was diagnosed on paper that my car had a bad distributor and bad computer control relay. Over the the phone I was told my bad distributor was covered in oil. The bad distributor sucking oil up from the coil wire drenching my spark plug. For $551 in parts. I thought swapping the spark plugs and coil wire would be included. Instead I was up-charged and got a $450 distributor and my old coil wire and old spark plugs installed. A distributor doesnt cost $450 alone. When I can back with engine problems, I was quoted $650 for spark plugs and wires and labor. I was also quoted $650+ for a alternator and labor. Yes, I denied service. You charge to much for car parts. Im comparing the price of the car parts you offer with OReilly and Auto Zone highs costing distributor/parts for my car because I deserve the best and Ive found nothing over $300. Any regular spark plug and coil wire for a 2002 honda accord costing or even costing more then $150+ is wrong. I have zero problems with labor costs.

The service has been very thorough and, when necessary, provided repeated service, at no additional charge, to correct concerns. Also, they have kept our Volvo in like new condition.Recently, as TAS has begun servicing other makes, I brought in my 2010 Ford Edge. They discovered several concerns that have now been corrected, rendering this car in the best condition since I bought it six years ago from CarMax.We recommend TAS very highly.

Comment: This was a 120K Lexus “tune-up” with a long manufacturer’s list to be completed. They also did a free AAA inspection. To my knowledge, they did a great job and advised me that my transmission fluid was quite dirty. I agreed to change that too and I am glad to have averted a big transmission problem! They explained everything to me and sought my “OK” before proceeding. I will be back.

Comment: REVISED FEEDBACK04-18-2024Back here after wasting valuable time with a repair shop (Fox Auto Care) down the street who I had used for 2-3 years. I have no idea WHY I stayed with that other shop for that long, the rationale, or lack thereof, escapes me.Very glaringly obvious issues the shop down-the-street shouldve noticed, and which I also commented about to that shop several times, were immediately suspected by TAS. The auto-transmission (AT) had a massive leak. TAS tech-psychic and GM John P immediately and for some unknown reason advised that they needed to check for AT leaks (now, HOW did HE suspect that WITHOUT even looking at the AT, no obvious leaks on the pavement nor putting it up on the hydraulics and NOT saying a word to him?). The other shop was up under this truck in the area of the AT numerous times and were asked to please check where the fluid leaks were coming from, again, numerous times. I assumed the leaks mayve been oil leaks (engine seals, etc), since I had never experienced deteriorated AT pan seals in decades of driving.That other shop shouldve noticed that leak since they had it up on a rack, viewing the AT area. Am I complaining, maybe even bemoaning that previous experience? Yeah, not just due to misdiagnosed, obvious issues (other missed issues as well) but also because of wasted, invaluable, irreplaceable time (numerous trips to and from the other shop, sometimes for the same symptoms, time without a vehicle, relying on friends for trans, etc, etc), as well as placing valuable trust in the wrong repair facility (all repair shops make mistakes, inaccurate diagnoses from time to time, but the same mistakes and misdiagnoses repeatedly?). I dont like to see any small or privately-owned business fail, but AAA needs to review its approved auto repair shops. Luckily, TAS is one of the approved, however, Ive also known TAS when Steves pop was running it (and John Pizanie was a young buck...SORRY John!), over 40 years ago.Great work John, Steve and team. Please dont loose those values. If I were back on the track, Id want you folks as my crew!PRIOR FEEDBACKGreat shop, very professional. Unfortunately, the cost to repair the vehicle was far, FAR more than the value of the truck (i.e. high thousands). So why the high rating?TAS gave a rough diagnostic of what was WRONG with the vehicle, which was pretty much in line with my dreaded suspicions, and strongly cautioned against investing (throwing good money after bad) in a vehicle that would only need more repairs. The vehicle (truck) was purchased from Fairway Ford and, unbeknownst to me at the time of purchase, was fraught with problems that quickly (within 2,000-3000 miles after purchasing) evolved into worse problems culminating in the aforementioned exorbitant repair costs.In summary, The Auto Service was completely honest in advising AGAINST costly, irrational repairs (contrary to Fairway Ford who gave an estimate implying that the vehicle could be repaired, AGAIN, for a vehicle that they sold in initial stages of disrepair).Other than that, the shop is impressive, VERY impressive. The customer waiting area (lounge?), although I just peaked my head in, was equally impressive. Large, comfortable, very clean. If I were so inclined to throw large sums of money away on vehicle repairs, I would trust those repairs to TAS over any other shop.

Comment: I had a wonderful experience at TAS. I just moved to the area and searched online for a great place to take my Toyota 4Runner too and TAS came up. Good reviews so I went deeper and I was able to schedule my appt online within minutes and got a confirmation text and email, as well as a confirmation email and text the day before as a reminder. I do love the automation and communication because life gets busy and I forget stuff. Showed up right on time and found it very easy to find their shop and park. Went in and worked with John. He kept it straight with me and offered me multiple discounts to offset my cost and I felt the prices were fair and reasonable. They did the work great and within a reasonable amount of time. Their waiting room was very comfortable and I was able to get a lot of work done. The facility in general was very clean which I did appreciate. I like it here and will be back.

Instead of replacing the moon roof, TAS was able to straighten some components and now it works like new!Second car, VW Toureg, needed tires, brake pads and brake rotors. Again, everything done overnight, and the car is a pleasure to drive again!

They are the most unreliable mechanics who has no ethics whatsoever.Originally I gave them an excellent review since they fixed my car’s air conditioner and assured me there is no leak on my car’s air conditioner. They charged me $427. John even put my previous mechanic down who diagnosed Leak on my car’s air conditioner.After 10 days my car’s air conditioner stopped working. I took my car back and John said oops, my car has a leak and I have to pay $6000 to fix it.Before they take my car in, I asked John what would be your maximum charge for this problem? He said maximum $2500 !!!!!—————————————————————————I am replying to your response,I think the purpose of online review is to let the other people know what kind of customer service you have and what is the quality of your service.On both appointments you were not present. I did talk to John on both appointments. You mentioned he cannot diagnosed properly without doing service on your car but, I am telling you, he did say maximum cost cannot be more than $2500 before car service.So do not assume what he promised? He and I know what we talked and what he laid.Yes, I disputed your charge with my credit card company. You are happy, I lost but we both know, you lied to credit card company. You told them first appointment there was no leak and after 10 days i got a leak on my cars air conditioning system coincidently. Credit card company believed you but I don’t. Before I talk to John, I had seen another mechanic and they already diagnosed a leak but I wanted a second opinion when I came to your mechanic shop. I told all these informants to John. When he told me first appointment there is no leak he put my first mechanic down and said they do not know what they are talking about….First appointment, He quoted his service $400 in the morning but when I was paying at the end of day he asked $500!!???? I reminded him what he quoted earlier and he just said…. Comment: My wife is too nice to leave a negative review, but when we have an appointment at a set time, we expect to not be forgotten. We drove two cars for 45 minutes in rush hour traffic to get there, waited 2.5 hours only to return at the shop and have them apologize for forgetting about our vehicle and it would be next. Wasted mine and my wife’s valuable morning off from work, gas money to get there, and added stress to our lives as well since we still have to get our vehicle maintenance somewhere else now. Inexcusable and unprofessional! Figure out a better system, so this doesn’t happen again! Have some respect for your customers time! Other than that wife said front desk guy was nice and apologetic. Have no idea if the work they do is any good, but if they can’t figure out the basics, or realize their mistake for almost 3 hours, I am not confident in the rest of their teams abilities.Update: Owner reached out to make things right. Offered a complimentary oil change service, but we declined. Changed from 2 to 3 stars.

Comment: John was not very polite on Friday when I brought my car in that was almost stolen the night before and had damaged front door locks and a barely working ignition slot(have to jam the key and pull hard to get it out. (KIA Boys got me)Unfortunately I havespent easily 10K on my girlfriends car and my own vehicles here in the past 5 years or so. They were always polite and great to deal with. When I called on Friday morning the owner Steve was very accomadating and sympathetic with my car being damaged by thieves. This was the place I trusted and felt comfortable with.John basically told me the owner does not know anything and to disregard what he said about being able to help shortly after I arrived. I told Steve when I was bringing the car by, but I guess John was not notified about my issue. Ultimately John just said I should have gotten better insurance and that it would be pricey ($1500) to change two locks and have the third party locksmith program them.As a service tech in a different industry I understand some repairs are not fun or great because they are costly and require more effort/time to complete. This is understandable and not what bothered me. I do not care about the cost or time in this case. The biggest issue was his initial attitude about not believing me that the locks are damaged or how I knew my car was almost stolen/locks damaged was also rude. (Possesions stolen from car) I was in at about 3:30pm near closing so I am sure that it was an annoyance. Ultimately, I know John is very knowledgeable and a good guy, but sometimes listening to your customers and being sympathetic/not being the skeptical tech about what the customer says is important.I will not be coming back here as bad mouthing the owner is not a good thing to witness. Also being open minded and not so skeptical of customers problems/listening is important. I know most customers are not knowledgable, but being patient and reserving judgment would go a long way. I was surprised because John seemed so cool every other time I went here.Sorry for the novel. Do not buy a KIA and as John said get better insurance.

I took it in to TAS for an oil change and they showed me a faulty power steering rack and pinion on the right front wheel. I came in for regular service and because I suspected my brakes needed to be replaced. They had advised that it was unusual for a Prius to get brakes done so early, but came to the same conclusion I had (warped rotors). I turned my car in at 8am, it was done by 3pm and it runs so smoothly (it hadnt for years). And price was exactly what I expected it to be. The dealership where I purchased my car told me I needed front and rear brakes. I thought their price was high so took my car to The Auto Service. Animals had been living in the engine, fur all over, they ate the wires, drank fluids, which broke my heart to think of the animal suffering. After I got to know him and trust him, I used to tell John before a long road trip, Pretend Im your daughter, look over my car, and make sure its good to go without worrying that he was going to make up fake repairs to charge me for.John gave me advice about car buying which I took, even though it meant I wound up with free routine maintenance from the dealer for years. By the time that deal ended, Id lost track of TAS (formerly Swedish Asian Auto Service). Googling John and Steve great mechanics didnt work. Finally, my 14-year Prius needed real maintenance, so in desperation I sat down with Google maps to try and remember where they were. So I found them again- thank GOODNESS.Ive been back at TAS for two years now, theyve replaced the 15 year old battery on my Prius now that its worn out, and at this rate Ill have this car until it qualifies for vintage plates.Last week, with a sense of déjà vu, I went to John to say, Im making the first long road trip/camping trip in over 20 years, so I can visit my parents without worrying about giving them coronavirus by staying in a hotel or flying on a plane. Look over my car and make sure Im safe for the journey. He fixed the timing cap leak weve been putting off repairing for a few years, and a few other things too, and I *know* he was being generous on labor costs. Im not a kid anymore, but I feel perfectly safe driving off across the desert in a 16 year old Prius, which Im not sure I would otherwise.TL;DR: These guys are honest and dependable. Ive mostly mentioned John, because hes the guy who usually takes care of me, but everybody who works there is great. Im writing this review as an unsolicited thank you, but really, this is a long overdue review for the business I have depended on the longest… I was going to say since I moved to California, but come to think of it, Ive depended on them longer than any business, ever. I thought my car needed some major work done but instead John told me later in the day that it was just a few things. It needed an oil change, tire pressure fix and fill the fluids. When my service light came on, we knew we didn’t want to wait and risk a breakdown, but couldn’t take it to the shop and remain isolated. Comment: I would not recommend for anybody to take their cars to this shop! This shop is overrated and too expensive even more than the dealership. They charge $130 for 45 min pre purchase inspection and the results were not accurate! John pointed out few things wrong with the vehicle just to make extra money or justify the high price of the inspection! I got a 2nd opinion from another certified shop and the ruled out few of the problems that John said they were there and recommended fixing ($900 in parts and labor). I took my car there because the shop is close to where the car broke down.They wanted $750 to replace the radiator in my Toyota Corolla. Ive been going to dealerships ever since I got my car and save for 1 (elmore toyota) they never treat me well or even care about my expenses let alone my car. The first time I went to TAS I immediately could tell the difference. These guys care about the customer service end and care about you knowing what youre paying for. If you dont need it, they wont press you to get it. If youre having issues with something you dont understand, theyll explain it to you. Comment: WARNING: If you have A classic Car or any car with drum brakes Be aware of the work that is done on your vehicle and double check with your mechanic to make sure the Job is done correctly . The owner Steve and John are one of the most dishonest n disrespectful people in the shop . I had gotten service done on my front and rear drum brakes, the only brakes they changed were the Rear drum brakes but the Front drum brakes were never even touched as i had my Mechanic take a look and my front drum brakes the shoes were cracked and broken and were not safe to drive.. When i had taken my car back 3 Times for service because i had a Warranty they just gave me an excuse saying thats the way those old Cars are and also said they work perfectly fine they never worked on them . Once i talked to my mechanic and he told me that my car was not safe to drive, I called the Auto service and spoke to John and told them that they had never even worked on the front drum brakes and that he was just lieing to my face n once I told him that i was going to make a report on the BAR Against the shop He began cussing me out with Abusive language.This is the worst customer service Experince ive ever had, and surely I will be making a Report to the BAR.

Comment: I know they dont NEED another raving review... but I am giving one!Because I am so happy and relieved that I finally have a auto service center that doesnt make me feel like an idiot or that Im gonna die if i dont buy every service! LOL.This place is AWESOME! My dad referred me ( of course like a good dad would! )They are HONEST, EASY to work with and speak to, COURTEOUS, FRIENDLY, the shop is clean and beautiful, the service is OUTSTANDING, the follow up is fast... these guys are the BEST!

Comment: Looks like I found a new mechanic! My regular mechanic was unable to fit me in for a vehicle inspection, so I began looking around for local AAA approved shops. Given the overwhelmingly high online reviews, I called The Auto Service, and I was delighted to discover that the good reviews are well deserved. When I called, John (the manager) spoke with me on the phone and said he would be happy to fit me in that day. Once there, I was treated kindly and professionally by every staff member I encountered. They went out of their way to be helpful. Its also worth noting that the customer waiting lounge is far and away the nicest I have seen anywhere. As it happens, I didnt get to spend much time in there, though, since they set to work on my car as soon as I arrived and had me out of there in no time. This will certainly be my go-to place in the future.

Comment: They do great work, I have been gone to them with 6 cars over 15 years and they have done high quality, consistent, reasonably priced work for my family the whole time. John and Steve know most of their customers stories and names, they and all the staff are very personable.SAAS is run by honest people, and I cant speak well enough of them.

Comment: John and his team truly put the customer first at SAAS. He will not only diagnose and promptly repair your car, he will also educate you along the way so you understand exactly what is being done.My dashboard lit up with service lights a week ago, I called John and he told me to bring it in right away as that typically isnt good. When I arrived he dropped what he was doing, brought the computer out to the car and, while i was sitting in the car with him, explained the error code and what it could mean. After asking me some questions, Johns opinion, based upon his experience, was to reset the light, tighten the gas cap (which was loose), air up the tires, and evalute the car from there.A week later the lights are still off and the car is running perfectly.I am not sure most shops would offer this type of service and give you the genuine impression they care more about you then they do about their cash register. John and his team have a long term approach to their shop and know happy customers equal a healthy business.Take your car to SAAS!

Comment: Simply put, if you want great and honest service with great customer care come here. Too often in this industry consumers feel apprehensive about service, whether it be an independent shop or the dealer. You will not get quoted for work that does not need to be done, they will give you great prices and workmanship, and most important peace of mind. Its pretty simple, bring your car here, ask for John, he was great!

Comment: Consistently great service and advice. Ive been a customer since 1978 and rely on Steve, John & Tim to keep not only my cars in great shape, but to keep me up to date on things I need to know. These are great people and no one better than these guys for service and attention to you as a person and customer. Keeping my car serviced on schedule and following the recommendations from the guys at Swedish has allowed me to drive trouble-free for a long time and keep the cost per mile low.I cant say enough about these folks - if there was an excellent-PLUS rating, thats what I would pick.
