The BELT in other cities:
Detroit is definitely an Artist Mecca. With so much revitalization and fresh new innovative ideas, there’s a ton of newly restored places to explore. If you’re up for a day trip or weekend of fun, forget what you may have formerly been introduced in years past about dark Detroit alley ways and let me introduce you to bright vibrant corridors filled with art works of local talent from all over metro Detroit. Come see what’s new and visit The Belt. You’ll love it!!! I did.
The BELT is a must due everytime youre downtown Detroit. Weekends usually consist of live music, alley is also always full of new and fun art and bars with outdoor spaces. Always a good temperature due to the wind through the alley. Alley is greatest and busiest from 8-2 on weekend nights 👍
Amazing block-long alleyway in downtown Detroit, features murals and artwork by variety of artists in different media and themes. Beautiful colors, look incredible against the old brick exterior of the surrounding buildings. Area is lit-up at night and very clean. Murals seem to change regularly as a new one was being installed while we were walking through.
Really enjoyed my first experience with the Belt before and after a Tigers baseball game. With the one exception of 1 factor somewhat beyond its control which was the extremely high humidity on the day I was there. But overall enjoyed my time at the Skip first which had a lovely collection of small batch Bourbons to try and reasonably priced as well. After the game went to Standby for the highlight of the evening where we enjoyed a wide variety of outstanding hand crafted mixology and well executed small plate food options. Parking at Z Spot is an excellent value for $10 after 4 pm.
The BELT is literally an alley with food, bars, art, and now a dance club. While I personally don’t frequent the establishments, this is a great place to visit in Detroit. Standby’s food is great, though as a warning it is very busy. The Skip is a great local place to go, but also quite busy on the weekends. Detroit Flux is new, and not quite my type of thing to do, but it’s one of the better places to visit in the city. The art places in the BELT are usually private function use only, but you can see quite a bit from walking. Definitely pass by if you are coming in from the suburbs or out of town.
Beauty and the Beast, Sweet and Sour, and a Gorgeous Alley! The Belt is a must see if you can find it. A real alley that has been transformed into the most stylish and artistic thoroughfare in Detroit. There are two bars and some pop-ups and a lot of cool street art. Meet me at The Belt.
One of many treasures to be found in ever-growing downtown Detroit. Theres wonderful art, good vibes, and tons of interesting restaurants and other businesses I sadly have yet to explore. Definitely worth a quick stop/detour downtown! I know Ill be visiting again on my next visit to see whats new.
Something Ive not quite experienced anywhere else. The belt brings together art, drinks, and food in a single alley between two buildings. Home to the skip, the standby, and deluxx fluxx, the belt is never lacking in places to go and drinks to try. A popular place in the summer as it is mostly an outdoor experience, but all three bars do offer some inside entertainment. A great place to start pregaming before going out to the rest of Detroit. Located in the center of campus martius.

2022-06-14Went to the Adidas Do Over Event a few weeks back at the Belt and wow - what a great space of art, food stands, little hidden bars and galleries. This spot has so much character and impressive to see how an alleyway can be completely transformed into an experience. The music was excellent as per usual with the Do Over Crew, vibrant and upbeat crowd - also loved hitting up the little drink and food stands throughout.

2022-04-30I always love coming down this little gem of a corridor. The entry ways to the bars are so pretty to look at. The lights hanging above you, the murals, just a fun area

2022-04-09This place is definitely worth checking out. I visit here frequently when Im downtown. It is really cool even during the day when most of the bars on the belt are closed because there is so much art and creativity. Dont forget to look up and see everything above you too. The Z-park parking garage is right next door for convenience. Plus if you head to the top of Z-park there are some great views of Detroit.

2021-10-31The BELT is full of interesting artwork and murals. If you go in the evening there are a few restaurants that cater to tables in the BELT, some have windows were you can order right from here.

2021-10-27Cool alleyway thats has multiple food options and photospots for you and your friends. The smells of the food lingered in the alley. Downfalls would be parking although the garage is right there there was a line due to the machines not giving clear directions and it is kind of the only thing right in that area. Hoping to see more developments like this throughout detroit.

2021-06-26I absolutely love the belt!! There are so many cool works of art on the walls and I just love taking photos there. I also love the restaurants and hangouts there off Z lot. Highly recommend checking it out if you never have before. Ive gotten some really cool photos using the belt as a backdrop.

2021-07-04Hidden gem in Detroit. When I visited it was the last snow of the year during pandemic times so it was quiet & empty. Some really cool art work. Must see on places to visit in Detroit.

2021-08-03I attended a party at The BELT hosted by Jerk x Jollof on Saturday, 7.17.2021. The vibes, music & fashion fueled my soul! It was great to run into so many familiar faces. Sadly, I got injured that night so my overall experience was bittersweet.

2022-06-07I loved the aesthetic of walking through with all of the strung lights and artwork painted along the walls. Definitely a beautiful and unique place for pictures!

2018-10-15Awesome alley, tucked away from the main streets. The alley features a few bars, but its main attraction is the art on the walls! The alley is edge to edge art. Few installations but mainly painted walls of all sorts of different art styles etc.The neighboring parking garages are also all covered in amazing art and are partially visible from the alley itself, but both warrant a visit themselves.
