This place is awesome! We ordered the Peaches and Cream French Toast with pecans, and they were worth every penny. Prices are reasonable, and the staff are very friendly. We also ordered an order of scrambled eggs and pancakes which were done perfectly. Several of the menu items Ive never seen anywhere else. The diner is small, but they make great use of their space and it feels neither small nor crowded. We would highly recommend this place, and will definitely be returning! Awesome!
I ordered carry out from this business to support them during an all restaurant shut down/hard times. I even drove 20-25 minutes out of my hometown to pick it up, I’ve had breakfast at this small business before and enjoyed it, so I thought it was a good choice. I ordered the “dirty hot blonde french toast” and it literally looks like someone just threw bread and some walnuts in a carry out box and called it good. Definitely does not look like the picture advertised on their website or Facebook cover photo! Not even any whip cream. Never ordering from this place again. Waste of time and money.
This is the second time Ive eaten at the Daily Diner and there two for two on great service and food. The western meat lovers omelet with side of potatoes and rye toast is great to say the least.Good spot.Quick service and friendly staff.Ill go back again and definitely recommend to friends
The Daily Diner was like being at home having a meal with your family. It was a very warm and inviting little diner filled with regulars and a few new comers like me. The food was good and the staff was so friendly they made me feel as if they have known me for years. Highly recommend anyone desiring comfort food in a cozy atmosphere to stop by The Daily Diner.
Lets see 🤔 not one family member has a complaint, Im there for peaches and cream french toast❣️ They serve turkey bacon which delighted my older daughter. Hard to find it seems. Now keep in mind Im a Southern woman so we wont talk about biscuits and gravy! Picky I am.
When I tell you this is the best breakfast I have had in a long time, believe me. I am a very picky eater. No only is the food good, the people are so nice and patient. When I am on the phone and unsure, they don’t rush me. Try this place, you won’t regret it. You will make it your “go to “.
Everyone from the chef John to the person who fills our cups was incredible. Food was great and they did fantastic for every seat filled. They are definitely a well oiled machine. If one person was slacking the whole thing would have been thrown off but they all did incredible.
Being a BLACK actress and model Ive had some difficult restaurant experiences here in Michigan coming from Texas but I had a very good experience here at the Daily Diner... My waitress Cathy was very accommodating and professional... I would recommend this restaurant even though seating is very close but Im sure it was like this before the pandemic and with that being said the FOOD was excellent.
Amazing omelets and the service was great. I usually get nervous bringing my preschooler out to eat without my husband because she tends to get a little loud and rambunctious, but the servers were so good with her and keeping her happy and occupied. I was actually able to enjoy my meal! Well definitely be back asap.
I have been in there a few times and the wait staff is very friendly and on top of their job. I thought it was going to be a quiet place to enjoy some lunch but every time I have been in there, the male cook is always yelling and down grading the waitresses in front of customers like myself. My personal opinion I think the owner needs to fire the male cook. Although he does an excellent job at cooking, his attitude and people skills needs a lot of work. He shouldn’t be working in a restaurant. My opinion he needs some anger management classes. I will continue to come back only because of the wait staff and to hope to find a new cook.
We were going to try it but I didnt feel safe with lack of distance. Tables are back to back.. I went inside and walked right back out.. Glad you paid off the health inspector.. Three tables outside are still too close for comfort.. I am allowed to choose where I feel safe to eat.. This isnt one of them..
A letter to the Manager:I had the pleasure of sitting at your counter today. I am not a frequent customer, however; I have been a customer since 2012.Ive watched you grow, and so I feel I have a responsibility to speak up in order to help you continue to grow, and not slow growth or halt it.The time was between 1215 pm and 115 pm on 6/30/16. You had a full house and a busy staff. The Kitchen Back and Front of house is working well and at high standards considering that they make up for one waitress. The wait staff, just one from my experience today, needs more training.Confusion was caused when I ordered because the waitress did not know the menu, nor reference it when writing the ticket. To be fair, I didnt reference the menu when I placed my order, but the server should know what is on the menu. The chef was doing his best to get clear orders from the waitress, and I admired how calm he remained at a stressful time.I believe my original waitress doesnt close tickets well. I did not receive any other acknowledgement from my original waitress after she submitted my order ticket, so I asked the second waitress to help me with a box to go and the bill. She couldnt find the ticket and so had to make another ticket for records.Im patient and its obvious that your staff is too. But how long must your full staff support the one waitress? The Daily Diner is still a great place to come to and enjoy a delicious meal.
Very nice people here at the Daily Diner. Their food is made with love. Everything I have ordered has been made with patience and care, like it would be in any home. The eggs over medium are *perfect* as is the bacon, perfectly crisped, browned the perfect amount. The staff are very friendly. To me, the customer, it feels like they are a happy family. I would recommend this Diner to anyone in the area. I have one thing to humbly add to the suggestion box, (as there are many people now turning to Plant Based Diet to improve their health) I would be ever grateful if they would add a couple pf Hippie Hash options on the menu, which includes all sorts of veggies (yes, even broccoli!) in with a healthy helping of the hashbrowns. and maybe one with artichoke, onion and sauteed mushrooms? This would make the experience complete. My Chronic pain, Arthritis symptoms and need for pain medication are greatly reduced by maintaining a Plant Based Diet
Being that I personally have been involved with a wide range of working in the front house part of many restaurants as well the back for many years. I am so honoured and proud to say that The Daily Diner is owned and operated by a great all American group of people. The quality, portions and prices of the wide selection of food is fantastic. I highly recommend this place.
Good little diner right in Waterford. Have eaten lunch here several times when working close by. Service has always been fine. As with most you can get breakfast anytime and there are always 1/2 dozen specials on the board. Live a little and try something off the board. If you prefer order one of their fresh salads, guarantee it will be enough to fill you up. Coffee is always fresh and strong too.
BEST Breakfast ever. Everything is made from scratch. NO WATER ADDED to all their pancakes & waffles. Great portion, NOT Greasy/Oily. Weve asked for 1/2 Lbs. Hamburgers (NOT on the menu) instead of 1/3 Lbs. Hamburgers (on menu), it was made for us with no problem. We were greeted by the owner to make sure everything was ok. Their Prices are 1/2 as anyone elses prices. Customer services is EXCELLENT.
Good food, but they refuse the answer their phone. I guess they just dont like making money. Plenty of breakfast spots around town that I will go to instead of this place. They probably will go out of business soon because their business plan of not making money most likey wont work out.
We absolutely love this place. We visit here quiet frequently. We have been long time customers since we moved into the neighborhood a year and a half ago. Even after changing ownership, they still continue to put out great quality food. My fiancé loves their steak quesadilla with no pepper and oinion & extra cheese. He can be quiet a picky eater, but the daily definitely has won him over.
IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A DINER JUST LIKE THIS ONE.....SO HAPPY TO FINALLY FIND THE DAILY DINER. MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS WERE BETWEEN THE FRIENDLY AND GRACIOUS PEOPLE THAT INVITE YOU IN, SO OBVIOUSLY TAKING PRIDE IN MAKING EVERYONE FEEL WELCOME, AND AT HOME. THE AVIANCE HERE FOR ME WAS VERY WARM, AND COZY. NOW, NEXT WAS THE MENU....AND LET ME TELL YOU, THEY OFFER MANY UNIQUE DISHES FOR THE ASKING. I COULDNT MAKEUP MY MIND, A TOUGH ONE. AND WHAT I DID ORDER WAS THE COUNTRY OMELETE, DELISHES WITH A THICK MARBLE RYE TOAST. YUMMMO😉 SO, IF YOU WANT A GREAT MEAL, SHARE A SMILE, PARTAKE IN DELISHES FOOD, THE WHOLE SHABANG, STOP IN THE DAILY DINER😉

2022-03-10OMG this place! I am a first time customer today. Think of a classic, old school diner. No frills, just good food, great service and very reasonable prices. Where it seems other restaurants have raised their prices recently, this place shocked me with low prices, large portion sizes and good food. How have I been driving by this place for the past 16 years and never stopped in? I think I just found my new breakfast place! 😋

2022-03-19Literally my favorite place for breakfast and/or lunch. Everything on the menu is good. Pictured is my favorite breakfast. Peaches and cream french toast and a side of sausage patties. Its the perfect mixture of sweet and salty. And I dont feel guilty cause the peaches make me think its healthy. Lol. I highly recommend checking this place out. They have odd hours but are totally worth making an exception.

2022-06-16Small local diner that is like a local coney island. But, they have a great breakfast. Best, and fresh, home fries (I would order them crispy). Friendly service and an owner that works his @$$ off at that grill to make sure his customers are happy. Cant speak for the rest of the menu, but if you are in the mood for eggs, home fries and bacon... great place to go, and you are supporting a local business too.

2022-05-22Really good breakfast. Went and got the “Daily Special” for breakfast, it was 3 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, 1 slice of ham, 2 pancakes, and 2 slices of bread for $8. The sausages were soooo good and flavorful. Decent amount of seating, and a really friendly staff.

2022-04-16A female staff worker (dont think she was a waitress, was wearing a full apron) was literally WIPING HER NOSE WITH HER HAND - FULL PALM right behind the counter where I was sitting. I was absolutely disgusted. Food was bland. Would have gotten a better burger atcdonalds. I drove by many times and wondered if it would be good and it certainly was not.Edit: It absolutely is true. It literally happened today! Is the person replying to these reviews delusional?

2022-07-02Pancakes were really good. Came for the pancakes with maple syrup and pecans but its a special. They made me pecan pancakes and added whip cream . Not as good but still very accommodating. Potatoes were fair.

2022-03-19Such a great place to eat! I love the environment and the nostalgia of the place. The food is the best in the area hands down! Salute to John and Jackie that run the joint. If youre ever in the area, stop in at 991 West Huron Waterford Michigan. They are open until 2 p.m. Open 8am on Sundays. Try the Melted Club with bacon, turkey, mayo and swiss. The Lentil soup is delicious. One of the last American small diners. Check them out.

2019-04-09Came in for lunch after hearing about a good deed this restaurant had done for someone in the community. My co worker and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the service we were given. Food was delicious and very prompt. Drink cups were never empty and the atmosphere was very inviting. Pricing is on par with other diners in the area. Ill be back again. THANKS!Also- the pretzel sliders were amazing.
