Farmington Garage is busy and busy for a reason. Their techs take pictures of their inspections and then you can see them online and approve what you want. They are not pushy and they are super professional. I dropped some coin on repairs but I know they were done right. Worth the money spent!
I have had excellent service previously, BUT this visit I was not given what I requested and was overcharged. I called and asked for information several times to show what was done and did not receive a call back.I was in for a special alignment to take my car to a track day event that weekend. This was done previously on my other car and was done well.I asked them to match camber right side to left on front and rear axle. I also asked them to set toe. When I got the car back there was not a print showing what was adjusted and the new setting. On further inspection I found the camber had not been touched. I was charged for a special alignment even though front toe was the only thing adjusted. A special alignment is much more expensive. If they had said all they understood to do was adjust toe i would have been ok. In the end I wound up checking and adjusting camber myself using a digital angle gauge and a youtube video. Its super easy and I will do it myself in the future. I was not able to have them do it since the event was that weekend and they couldnt get me in until the following week. Its unfortunate since I did have great experience previously but now will not return.
I went to Farmington Garage because the splash guard for my engine was coming off and dragging on the ground. I called in the morning and they told me they could give it a look at 2:30. I showed up at that time and they greeted me and took a look. They came back and pulled it around with the splash guard fixed! The mechanic said there was some screws that likely vibrated out or came out due to snow. He said he just replaced the screws. They didn’t add in additional services or charge me for an hour of labor. They just said “Hey it was a quick and easy fix, happens with cars this time of year. Hope you come back when you need service in the future”. Much respect for doing business the right way and I will be back.
After visiting another auto shop for a tire repair they told me it would be the next day before they could repair the tire. Since I was close to the Farmington Garage I stopped in and explained that I needed a tire repaired. He took all my information, quoted me a price and had me roll the tire to the garage and in five minutes it was done. To my surprise Mitch let me know it was a easy fix and it was much less than quoted . I wouldn’t have known the difference so I felt good that I stopped in to a place that is honest and care about the customer. I will definitely be back for any repairs I might need down the road. Thank you.
They transported me back to my house while my car was there which was nice, but they did not send someone to pick me back up when my car was serviced as they had advertised they would. The included detailing service is simply non-existent. I asked them about it and they handed me a voucher for some car wash, which was a good gesture but inconvenient as I had hoped it would be cleaned while it was there.
Created an appt a week in advance to bring in a set of 4 tires, have them installed and mounted by the shop. Shop mentioned to me over the phone and in person it would take 1-2 hours. I ended up staying there for 3 hours and had to nudge them to install my tires because my car was still outside.I had requested the shop to add sealant since the rim was a bit deformed. This was to prevent air leakage. Shop told me they did. For the next week, i was losing air pressure. So i decided to remove the tires by myself and added sealant and now theres no air leaks. This couldve been detected by spraying a mixture of soap and water on the tire.I feel like a tire swap shouldnt take 3 hours. But it was the air leakage that i was most disappointed with
Went in after a diagnostic test at O’Reilly’s that came up most likely needing spark plugs. This place wanted to charge over $600 for labor for a total price of $758. They also charged $212 for their own diagnostic test which should be no more than $100.Very disappointed and will not be back.Took it down the street to Kings Garage who did the same job for $416
I went in for an exhaust concern, loud noise coming from underneath my Ford Edge. Came back with a diagnosis and estimate of almost $800, needless to say I didnt go with the repair went to a local nationwide muffler shop who checked it for free, instead of the $67 diagnosis charge from the Farmington Garage. They confirmed the same issue as the Farmington Garage but did the work for $200 out the door. Do the math, significant savings. The fellas seem to be cool but get a second opinion if you think your estimate is too high, I am glad I did. Times are tough to be overpaying for service nowadays.
Oh my GOODNESS…!!!!!! Being a female business owner in a male-dominated construction world, I know when I am being sold a bill of goods… Not the case whatsoever with Farmington garage! They were amazing from the minute I walked in explained everything in great detail told me to take my time and think about it, Toni literally was amazing and held my hand through the entire process of fixing my work truck that was also my baby! Could not ask for a better experience L was amazing, and Brian, the technician who masterfully brought my truck back to life, I am forever indebted! Fantastic fantastic fantastic experience! Monica Jackson, Farmington Hills, MI
This is my first time owning a car and they have made it so easy for me to understand what is happening to my car. They take the time to fully explain what is wrong or what they did to my car. I love that they do not assume that I know all the terminology and they are always willing to help.
I went there because I got a nail in my tire. The business is within walking distance from my home, and although they were very busy, Tony said he would take care of it , no problem, he just needed a few minutes. They plugged my tire, at no charge, within a few minutes. Thank you very much for the wonderful customer service!
They checked my 1996 GMC SUBURBAN and told me the truth that my truck wasnt worth repairing, my husband said the same thing but, I didnt want to believe it and let this truck go but, the truck had alot going wrong, thank you guys for your honesty and truth, Im now looking for another truck and I will bring my next truck to you. Thank you and GOD BLESS you and your company. Theyre fair and honest, 10 STARS for old fashion work ethic and HONEST.👍👍👍
I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience with Farmington Garage was. I bought my car through CarMax, and this is a partnered garage so I picked them based off all the great reviews. Al was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING: friendly, kind, patient and helpful as I dealt with a bunch of NONSENSE surrounding my CarMax warranty (never use CarMax btw). He diagnosed the problem with my engine, explained it all to me, and kept my car for as long as I needed as I battled with CarMax. He even discouraged me from doing what they were telling me to do (authorize an engine teardown with no guarantee of coverage) so I wouldn’t be stuck with the fee. He went above and beyond trying to help me and I cannot thank him enough!!
I have had them work on my classic cars since they opened this location. Fair prices. They do it right the 1st time. There is never any surprises or add ONS. Professional and they get er done. Brought my car in today, late afternoon. They took care of me on the spot. The best. Highly recommend their services.
I went it to get pricing for brakes that I was told needed replacing by the dealer. I was called within an hour and told the brakes were fine. There was a $60 inspection fee that they then waived and called it a second opinion.I went in after reading their positive reviews and am more than happy to add one myselfI’ve never been in a cleaner auto service center with immediate professional assistance upon walking in the centerIf you need to stay for service it is in the middle of downtown Farmington with plenty of restaurants and shops to keep you busyI will be back for all of our auto needsThank you for your honesty and not taking advantage of what I thought was needed when I walked in.
Took my car in because it was making an odd rattling noise which I suspected might have been the heat shield. They looked at it right away and it was indeed the heat shield. They tightened it for me and when I asked for the charge, it was complimentary! While I dont expect free repairs the next I go there, I will definitely be going back. Nice, honest shop, not too mention a clean comfortable waiting area!
I decided to do some elective maintenance on my Ford Escape in preparation for two big upcoming trips. I wanted ease of mind to make sure everything was in good shape and ready to go! I believe the pricing was fair to do an all around 360 check. I was given a loaner car which I totally didn’t expect and was nice since I didn’t want to sit in the waiting room for hours when I live down the street! I worked with Al the majority of the time and he was very nice and professional! When I was waiting for my diagnosis, I was sent a text message with my results and either had to decline or approve services/parts...which I thought was very modern and cool! When I was called to pickup my Escape they noticed one more thing and took care of that and explained (and waived!!) an alignment fee! I will definitely be back and it really helps that they are down the street! Side note: when I was waiting in the waiting room with my son, he was happy there were snacks!! Haha and I was happy it’s clean, modern and not smoky or trashy like most car places. Thank you Farmington Garage!!
I have been servicing my 2015 328xi here as long as I have owned it. (The dealer really ticked me off). These guys are honest, skilled, and fair. The have invited me back into the shop area a few times and I have met some of the mechanics nd they are all really nice guys who happily explain what and why the are doing things.I trust and appreciate the work they do and I wouldnt take my BMW anywhere else. Nice waiting area too!
My 2015 Honda Civic coupe runs better than when I drove it off the lot 2 years ago. They even showed me the parts and explained why the brakes and rotors on all four tires had to be done. Amazing staff that goes above and beyond to deliver, and they give the facts to you straight. Added bonus that they wash your car and wipe down the interior! Awesome service. 👍🏻
They did a great job on my car! They were professional, their facility was beautiful and clean, we also loved the online analysis profile that had pictures of what needs to be fixed! The best part, we could choose which issues for them to fix! It was a bit more on the pricey side, but the service was top notch!
They provide solid service, but arent truly telling you everything. When they do brakes they have made the decision to not turn the rotors. (Resurfacing) They have made the decision as a company to only replace the rotors along with pads. This is fine of of course, but rotors in most cases can last for about three sets of pads. So inflated prices over time when Resurfacing everytime they do the brakes would be much better option. Most dealerships with still turn rotors for a much smaller fee so long as they are still in spec.
The Farmington Garage is fantastic! I know and more importantly trust the mechanics there, especially Grant & Tony! When I bring my vehicle in I know Im getting quality parts, installed properly by qualified people! I also know Im not going to be sold anything I dont need.I wouldnt take my vehicle anywhere else! When I leave The Farmington Garage, I know Im driving a vehicle safe enough for my kids!
Went to the Farmington garage for the first time quite by accident. (Had a flat tire just outside their shop.) I was warmly welcomed and felt immediately at ease. Al and the rest of the crew went well and above the call of duty dealing with my insurance company making numerous phone calls so I would not have an unexpected out of pocket expense as the tire was under warrenty. Rarely have I ever experienced this level of customer service. I would not hesitate to recommend their services. Five star service without a doubt!
I have had a lot of work done at FG and have always received quality services. I was most recently impressed when they made quick work of a problem that had many on the auto forums stumped. They charged me much much less than I was anticipating. It is nice to have access to highly skilled mechanics that are right down the street.
Took my wifes 2013 ford edge(80k miles) in for antifreeze change/trans fluid change/spark plugs/belts/fuel injector cleaning. Appointment was scheduled and all work was done that day. Great communication with staff. Pricing was fair for the amount of work done. Will take cars there again and suggest anyone looking for a trustworthy group to deal with... These guys are it
Recommend 100%! The service was top notch! Tony was extremely helpful and professional. The service was quick and the results were amazing. My car has never driven better. I couldn’t have asked for an easier transaction as the technology used made things extremely simple. A+++
I got my SUV back running smooth, smelling good and vacuumed. Al was so professional and patient to wait for me to pick up my car even after their closing time. I will be back for sure to have the other recommended repair needed if I decide to keep my car a little bit longer. Excellent work.
Brought my 2012 Buick Enclave with 105,000 miles into Farmington Garage for the first time. Worked with Tony. Shared with him I thought I had issues with brakes and power steering. Sold me on Approximately $100 to inspect the entire car And let me know if there would be any other issues I should be prepared for down the road. Would up replacing front brake pads and rotors and power steering pump in the timing and at the cost he had estimated. He provided me with a summary of other items which I will likely do myself like air filter and plugs. It was Totally unexpected and nice that they washed the car and put armor all on the tires Think they also vacuumed the floor in the front. Received a follow up call from Bethany to insure everything was good. I’d bring my car back next time it needs repair.
I took my 2018 Jeep to Farmington Garage with the engine light on, I was charged $309 just for diagnostics! Upon further research I discovered the fair price for this service is $100 - $125 !Update: The shop responded appropriately to my concerns, demonstrating they valued my input and refunded me the overcharge.
Went in for an alignment after I installed a mild lift to my vehicle. Told this to Al who quoted me between $80-100. Accomidated me a 1 day earlier appointment which I appreciated.Took 3 hours! Ended up costing me $170! How can the original quote be so off. They washed and detailed (horribly, leaving grease spots all over my dash and seats) my car. I never was asked about these services as I would have refused them. I dont like anyone washing my car but me.No respect for personal property here! After days and days of complaining, Al offered to re-detail my interior. While I appreciate his offer, I dont trust him to do it and I should never have needed to go through this in the first place.Waiting area was nice. Plug and free wifi. Will not be back due to lack of personal property respect.
Reliable, fair, and honest. You get what you pay for with auto repair and these guys use the best parts installed by skilled techs. They have serviced my cars for years and will continue to. Highly recommended. It seems like some of the bad reviews here only tell half a story and the owners are always quick to reply!
I have a 2007 Cadillac DTS and it has a slight oil leak that I could not get figured out for a while. I took my car to other shops and had no luck but once I got in contact with AL one of the service advisors at the Farmington Garage we got the the bottom of it. He and his team figured out what the problem was and had if fixed right the first time and I have not had a issue since. Along with that they noticed some other things that I didnt know was an issue replaced those parts also and everything was fixed in a timely manner, they even washed my car for me! Great service that I would recommend to anyone
Ive been to many garages in the area, but the Farmington Garage is definitely the best place to go! The mechanics are constantly working on newer cars all the way to cars from the Baby Boomer era. An auto mechanic shop that someone can trust a 30+ year old classic car to be worked on is a shop worth going to!I highly recommend them as they keep you informed about your vehicles status and are professional every step of the way. Thanks to Tony for helping me out!
I cannot express how much I loved my experience at the Farmington Garage. And that’s saying a lot considering I’m a stay at home mom and it’s a mechanic shop. Making time to get my brakes done was the last thing I wanted to do. I had no idea that they offered a Lyft service so I could be driven back home while my car was worked on. It was absolutely amazing to be able to do that while my kids were in school and still be home getting stuff done while my car was being worked on. My husband would take our cars to the dealership because we just didn’t know where else to go but it was always such a hassle and takes much longer to get services done. I’m so glad a friend told me about this local mechanic shop. Thank you Farmington Garage for the great experience! My car was done on time and communication was excellent with the shop throughout the process. Definitely worth checking out for your car service needs.
Farmington Garage is an auto gem in downtown Farmington. The manager Al treated me and other customers with extraordinary hospitality. The amount of detail given about my vehicle was amazing plus, I was stuck with a dealership bill. If I could give this garage more stars, I would. If youre having vehicle issues, run over to Farmington Garage and your issues will be rectified.
This is an excellent mechanic. The prices are very reasonable. My car requires full synthetic oil, and they’re cheaper than most places. The work quality is excellent too. It’s always done right, and most importantly, they don’t try to up sell me or convince me something needs to be done that really doesn’t. They’re honest, trustworthy, and genuinely care about quality customer service. I highly recommend them.
I do NOT recommend. I’ve seen a review saying that it looks more like a fancy salon inside than an auto shop and that’s exactly what I thought when I first stepped in. This place tried to tell me that I needed a completely new engine and tires when my car has 40,000 miles on it. They wanted to charge me $6700 on a new engine. I took it somewhere else and the fix was under $1000. Just wow. Be very careful!
I have an older car, 2010 Edge, maybe 2011, it has been good to me, low maintenance, minimal issues. I was overdue for an oil change and my engine was acting funny...I was hoping it was because I needed an oil change....it wasnt. The short version of this story is I stopped here because it is where my husband had my oil changed the last time. They were nice, evaluated my issue, and the price they came back with was well not expected, but in reading their reviews and getting a quote from the dealership, they were honest in their assessment and competitively priced and my shock of having to spend that much on my older car was really the issue. The shop had a great atmosphere and changed my oil on a whim with no appointment and did not pressure me at all when they provided the quote regarding the work needed on my car. The dealership actually required two trips because they forgot a part so I think I might be checking in with The Farmington Garage next time I need some work on my Edge!
I found Farmington Garage on the internet and decided to give them a try, I am so happy I did. Everyone was very professional and just really nice. The service I received was excellent, my advisor Tony was just awesome. I will continue to take my car to them for service and recommend them to friends.
Fast, reliable and trusted mechanics. They address my car needs quickly and professionally. They explained repairs in detail and why I need them. I have even been offered a loaner car while they worked on my vehicle. Will definitely continue to use the Farmington Garage for all my car needs!
Great customer service, very friendly staff. The place is very welcoming and has great interior design. The loaner vehicle they provided was also a big reason I chose this place to have my car worked on.I wouldn’t recommend it to someone looking for a place that will work with you on a price though. Very pricey. One of the only places I’ve been to that does not apply the diagnosing fee to the repair costs. They also told me that my repair was simple and easy to get to, yet the labor costs on my receipt say $357. Is that really necessary? Such robbery lolI appreciate their kind and helpful staff regardless. Thank you.
This was my first time there and I had scheduled an appointment for a Pre-Purchase Inspection. I had a last minute scheduling delay and they let me push my appointment time back an hour with no problems at all! Everyone there was super friendly, the location is very nice and clean. The gentleman that assisted us took his time to explain everything they check and what the results were. I would definitely come back here if my car needs service in the future.
These guys are great at what they do! I had a problem with my car shutting off while I was driving with no warnings or signals. I took it to 2 other shops and they could not figure it out. I finally took it here and Tony and his guys didnt stop until they figured out this rare problem. Thanks to Tony, Al and the crew for fixing my car and making it safe. You are the best around!
I had a recent experience going to check what caused severe brake pulsation in my 328ix Drive with Farmington garage. First, team over there is good.Issue was that my rotors had to be replaced. It was shocking as I had replaced a new set of premium rotors (which Budget brakes claimed !) 30000 miles back / 2.5 yrs back (Warranty is 24000 miles). Farmington garage claimed that it was done by Budget brakes which is acquired by the former company (thats my understanding). I am not an aggressive driver by any means and primary reason was quality of rotorsI was just out of the warranty period by couple of months. There was certainly false word of mouth from Budget brakes with safety critical component . My point is that Livonia garage should own some sort of responsibility on safety critical components. From my view, this could have been discounted price on new set of rotors. Unfortunately I had only 5% discount which was letting me down. From my view, I clearly see the customer safety ethics are not considered !
I went to Farmington Garage last year because they had good reviews and were open on Saturday. I took my van to them where they replaced the 2 engine belts, fixed my air so that cold air came out of both sides instead of just the passenger side, and a few other things They had me come back twice to tighten one of the belts. The last time I left, I was told that if the air started to come out warm on drivers side to bring it back and it would be $100 out the door - part & labor. I was extremely happy with the work and they did at a reasonable price. Earlier this year, I hit a pothole and my strut broke. I went to a website that tells you what it should cost and the garages in my area that would honor that quote of $950. Their garage was on the list which made me happy, but when I called they said the price to replace the struts would cost at least $1300 and that did not include a wheel alignment or if other problems were found. I called other shops, found only one that would honor the price, but that was for struts only. It ended costing me $1150, but that included one tie rod that needed to be replaced and the alignment, plus I was able to take my van in that day because they had a loaner car I could use while they were fixing mine. Well now with the heat, I wanted to use the air in my van, and same problem - drivers side did not get as cold. So I called Farmington Garage, told them the problem and what I was told last year, then made an appointment. When I showed for my appointment I again stated that I was there to have the air fixed to come out cold on the drivers. An hour and 1/2 later, nothing was fixed and they had a list of other repairs they felt my van needed. My van is a 2004 Toyota Sienna which had over 190,000 miles the first time I went to their business and it now has over 210,000 miles. Most of the repairs they state stated were obvious and not necessary - cracked in windshield, windshield wiper streaked, passenger side electric mirror was cracked (still worked with no problem) the rear wiper arm was broke off, light over license plate was out, muffler rattled - all of which I did not bring my van to them to have repaired. Then the air, not just fixing the problem I wanted fixed, but to replace some rings and charge would be $450 So I left paying $63 to have someone tell me what I already knew and not having the problem I brought it to them fixed. The charge was for their time, but the majority of their time was looking for anything to repair instead of just doing what I asked. I was grossly overcharged. If they had just replaced the part I asked to fix, I would have been happy. Since them, the air has been about 1/2 as cold as it was prior to them checking the lines and whatever else they looked at. We have since recharged the air ourselves (the Freon or whatever) is available at an auto parts store and you hook it up to the line and refill - very tedious. If they had just replaced the part I had previously been told I would need, I would have taken it back if I had other problems. Now I wonder why I ever trusted the . I should have called and asked what it would cost to fix my problem (the one problem only), got their quote. Then I should have checked online what the approximate cost would be and called the shop I used for the struts to get their quote, which is what Ill do now. Just looked it up the cost to replace the ambient air temperature sensor is $61-$104. Shops need to realize we have access to so much information. When I called one shop about the struts they quoted a price so high and stated it depended on whether they had to rebuild the struts - found pair of them online for just under $300 delivered.
I want to give a fair and accurate account of my expexrience with The Farmington Garage, which I will from here on simply refer to as TFG. I challenge TPG to contradict the following description of my experience.I initially took my 2012 BMW 535i to FMG just to have the battery changed. I then decided to have some additional maintenance done on the car which was simply to have the diagnosed for any issue and get is 100K mile maintenance completed. After spending almost $1,500 on the car for this service, which primarily consisted of changing spark plugs and filters, I received the car back and immediately got a “DriveTrain” error at a low speed. I had to return the car to FMG the next day and, upon further evaluation by TFG, I was told that an error code that came up during the initial diagnosis that TPG had not evaluated. I was told that had that the issue was related to a hose that connected to the engine and would cost me an additional $180 to repair. After getting the car back for the 3rd time and still having the same issue, I had return vehicle FMG. I was then told that a new error code pointed to a failed turbo booster and that the cost to repair it was ~$6,000 and would cost $8,000 if BMW performed the repair. My experience with FMG is extremely troubling because prior to taking my vehicle to FMG, I had no problems other than the battery failing after over 3 years. In fact, I had recently drove my vehicle to and from Texas, over 2000 miles, and had no issues even after pushing the vehicle pretty hard during both trips. Additionally, after returning from Texas, I drove the car at least 200 miles a week in Michigan had no issues. I am a pretty aggressive driver so if this problem existing prior to me taking the car to TFG, I would have noticed it and informed TPG of the problem. The entire experience with TFG has been a nightmare. I cannot begin to relay how much anxiety I have experienced. The service I asked TFG to perform was relatively simple and to walk away with a much more serious problem is very troubling. Therefore, I would NOT recommend anyone take a foreign vehicle to TFG and, in my opinion, TFG should stick with American made cars. I do realize that this is a very harsh assessment of TFG, but I assure everyone who reads this review that it is very accurate and deserving.
I needed to get my older brothers 2002 Exolorer Sport diagnosed for engine surging and CEL. After searching for reliable garages in Farmington area I saw all the positive reviews for Farmington Garage. They lived up to their great reviews. They took care of all the vehicle issues I had initially as well as addressing and correcting a problem that was observed during their inspection. They are a very competent, professional, and friendy organization to work with. I am very glad I found them.
I took my sons 2010 Malibu in for a little winter tune up and to check on why it was running so rough. I thought it was just the age and mileage of the car. They were able to fix it and I am amazed at how well it now runs. Thought it was almost time to get him a new car, but now I am sure we will get several more years out of it. Great job Farmington Garage and I would recommend anyone to any of their locations.
Had them work on both of my vehicles now this past week and I was very impressed with everything. The owner and staff were very friendly and knowledgable, and after my two visits I really trust them with my vehicles. You will definitely get great work done at fair prices here, and you dont have to worry about a shop trying to screw you over. They pointed out to me a few areas that will eventually need work, but didnt need it now, which is how I gained my faith in this shop. The place is also completely re-modelled and a great place to relax while you wait for the work, which includes free snacks/drinks while you wait. Keep up the good work, and will definitely be back!
During the stay-at-home lockdown, I went to the grocery store. When I left, my power steering failed. Fortunately, Farmington Garage was open as it’s an essential business. I brought it in Friday afternoon and the car was ready by Noon the next day. I mainly dealt with Tony, and a bit with another fellow but it I forgot His name. ☹️ Sorry. Both men were very polite and knowledgeable. This was my 2nd dealing with this Garage. After my 1st visit, I knew I could trust them re price and value. I highly recommend them.
Reasonably priced and really great people who are trying to help you get back on the road safely. The staff at Farmington garage go above and beyond to make sure your car is in the best condition when it goes out the door. We love working with Ben especially! We wont bring our cars anywhere else for repairs or service. This place is also so nice inside. You feel very comfortable and taken care of while you wait. Thanks Farmington garage for your excellent customer service.
Would not recommend. Everytime I have gone Ive had further issues with my vehicle. Last time I got my brakes done here, they immediately started squeaking again. Returning to the shop, even under warranty, no resolution.Ive had friends go in for routine maintenance (battery issues) only to have to take their car back in t next day to get those issues sorted out again. Worse, after a routine brake job, the car lost all braking power the next day; caliper appeared not to be screwed on correctly and all brake fluid was lost.Long and short, if youve got two days sequential days to take your car to the shop go ahead and come here.
I am so impressed with this auto shop. They were able to fix the reoccurring issue with my Check Engine Light and diagnose it to replacing the converter and gasket. My truck is running like new and the quality of service is second to none. I recommend Farmington Garage to anyone whos looking for fair pricing, quality service and friendly hospitality. I will be back most definitely.
Tony saw to it that my repair was done promptly and properly. The business is not typical of repair shops. Clean environment offering refreshments, plugs to charge your phone and a comfortable waiting area along with friendly staff that gets it right the first time. Like Arnold says when he has a problem, “I’ll be back “...to the Farmington Garage!
I walked in without any sort of appointment and were helped immediately. They had the part I needed on hand, so they were able to take my car in right away. They estimated that the fix would take approx. an hour, so I walked around downtown Farmington, enjoying the farmer’s market, and they called about 50 minutes later saying it was all done. The final cost was ~$15 more than the estimate, but it was done so quickly and everyone was so friendly that I didn’t care at all. The car’s running great, and they seemed to fix the problem for me! I would highly recommend!
I would recommend the Farmington Garage with the highest praise for their honesty, thoroughness, and follow-up. My car was seen by two other facilities, one of which was the dealership where I bought the car. It was left with too much anti freeze in the system. We have not driven the car in about a month, and with the sub-zero weather, I was concerned that it might have frozen. When I started the car, it left a trail of anti-freeze. The problem could also have been from a broken line.Ben, the manager had his team pressure test the system and after confirming no problem, ran it for several hours and test drove it before giving it an ok. They also found several other problem areas that they pointed out, one in particular was where a previous repair on the clutch had left the bolts for the bell housing loose. They asked if I wanted them tightened, which of course I did. With all of this stuff going on, they could have told me anything, but they were honest and accurate. The final price was reasonable, and at least now I can start off on a long trip to visit an old friend with peace of mind knowing that I have found an honest garage operation in my home town.
The guys here know there stuff, i work on cars myself a little bit here & there but when things get out of hand or i dont have the right tools, i go to Farmington garage. Ive been told by friends and family about this place and Im glad they did so. I love the 3 year 36k mile warranty on both parts & labor. The guys up front are honest and are car people themselves! I never feel like they pressure me into something I dont need & if I need a repair badly they walk me into the back (wow- super clean) to show me what is broken and why it needs to be repaired. I highly recommend The Farmington Garage.Go in yourself and give them a try, you wont regret it!
I was in the state for a surgery and needed a engine light diagnosed and fixed before a 1000+ mile trip back home and they were able pick my car up from my home, diagnose it, fix it( with communication to me as what the problem was and other problems they found), and get me a Lyft to come get my car. Overall I’m greatly pleased with them as far as repairs completed, final price, and communication with me during the process.
All flash but no substance.I chose to go to the Farmington Garage based on their very high reviews. Unfortunately, I had less than a 5 star experience. This is the first car I’ve ever owned and the first time getting it serviced. I feel taken advantage of. I didn’t know how much things should cost and found out later that I grossly overpaid. For example, I was charged $173.90 for checking the engine light which could have been done for free at Auto Zone. I also paid for an annual inspection. They gave me a very clear typed list of all the things “wrong” with my car and they were explained to me in such a way that sounded like I needed those repairs (at unreasonable prices). Luckily, I took my car to get a second opinion of every item on the list. They did successfully repair the lock cylinder which fell in my door affecting the window. My only complaint would be a weird clicking when the window rolls down, but as long as it stays in place, that’s fine with me.Less than three weeks later, steam started coming out from under my hood. Turns out, I had a hole in the heater hose and lost all my coolent and the engine started to overheat. Nothing on the recommendation repair sheet indicated that this would be a problem, and the “annual inspection” supposedly checked the belt and hose conditions.Their presentation is amazing though. The lobby is absolutely beautiful. But I suspect that is where they spend all that extra money they charge. I really don’t care that they gave me a dry sugar cookie with their logo on it or any of the other “free amenities” since I paid for it hundreds of times over with their ridiculous prices. If someone were to ask me for a recommendation for a good place to take their car, I wouldn’t have a suggestion, but I can certainly tell them where not to take it!
Ben and Patrick, service advisors were so professional and friendly. I was able to book Appt for brake inspection and then repair, very quickly. Their prices beat another estimate I had, without sacrificing quality, and I received better all around service. I really appreciated being able to apply for and receive financing through their website!
There is absolutely no comparison to the level of service that you will receive at the Farmington Garage. They are so knowledgeable, professional and literally a pleasure to do business with. Having an unexpected and immediate repair, I called and Andy answered. I told him what’s up and what I thought would resolve the issue, he knew exactly the alternative fix I was speaking of, checked his pricing, along mine and their warranty (good at any BOSCH in the US) and it was less expensive to have him handle, I gave my card, and instead of needing a tow truck, I was so relieved and energized, I fiddled around with my ignition and got it to the shop. Both Andy, and Ben sent me updates on my car through detailed emails, and when my car was done Ben called knowing I was out of town, for what I had told him was “the most important day of this year for me” and the first thing he asked was, “how did it go?”. I shared the emails, and voice messages with family, because it truly stunned me how professional and kind they are. Every step, progressed through excellent communication and unparalleled customer service and for the first time, I was able to take care of my Rover (that I love so much!) without having to deal with nonsense and stress and that means everything. I feel that every shop could learn so much from these guys, people value their cars and want to maintain them, and when we do, we want to feel good about it. You guys are the best!
Tony was awesome. They did a diagnostic on my car as I was losing coolant. I chose not to have any repairs done as I didn’t want to put money into my 12 year old car. I was able to get a ride home too. If I need any work done I will go to the Garage and I will tell my friends.
My first time at this shop, do not normally go-accustomed to doing my own work. However, Nick was positive, inviting and well informed... Explained services and needs very clearly. Vibe while waiting for service was good, also was able to walk to several conveniences in Farmington during visit. Fair/reasonable price. Be back!
This was my first time at Farmington Garage and I dealt with John and Ben. Both were very knowledgeable and polite. They were not pushy about anything that had to get done to my car however made some very good recommendations and allowed me to decide what I wanted to do. The facility is clean and bright and I will be back to have them complete the final work on my car. I would highly recommend this garage!
Went for a pre-purchase inspection on a used vehicle and was a good experience. Had a nice waiting area/office and were quick, looked over everything and went over it afterwards to discuss what would be best to mention to the dealer when negotiating. Overall a good experience and would recommend to any others looking for a good place for an inspection.
Has everything to make most customers happy. I went in with tire issues- didn’t want the sales job like Belle Tires and came out with the repair I wanted at a very reasonable cost. Clean, friendly and fast - besides near walkable downtown Farmington. Will definitely go back when the next need arises.
My wife took our mini-van in for a few routine services and to fix the sliding door which wouldnt open. All of these services were completed quickly with great prices. What was really great was that the staff at Farmington Garage detailed the van as well (3 kids, 6 and under...so it was a mess). Well, whatever they did, my children were asking why we got a new van!!! Great job! We will definitely be back.
They were able to get me in quickly for an oil change and to check a tire for an air leak. Both completed in a timely matter. They did however leave off my tires air cap and they cracked a plug in my oil resulting in a leak. I took it back and they repaired it for free. Very nice and helpful staff.
I took my wifes car to get a radiator replaces. The person at the front desk was every professional and friendly. He explained what they were going to do and why they were going to do it.They were even to get the diagnosis and repair completed within 2 days. Amazing and fast service.
First off let me start by saying thank you to the Farmington garage team. I know I came in with no notice for a oil change half an hour before you closed and you were wrapping up for the day, but you still took the time to make sure my mother car was serviced and had a complete inspection. This type of treatment is rare now and I respect that, not only that but you gave a military discount which was unexpected as well...this garage is now my first go to place. Amazing service and great prices.
Ben and his team have great customer service! One of their part time mechanics, Derek, orchestrated replacing my tires on my Taurus SHO. I was very pleased that they had my tires in stock and they had them replaced and the car was in my driveway waiting for me to get home from work. Now thats service! I would recommend them to friends/ family and I will be back for any future needs on my car.
I have been looking for a trusted shop for awhile, ever since Suburban Chrysler/Jeep in Farmington Hills changed location and their staff. My mother came across Farmington Garage and recommended them to me. I have a 2016 Challenger Scat Pack with a Supercharger. And for Chrysler to even look at it I have to work around their schedule when the hellcat or demon techs are in. But these gentlemen and ladies are certified and able to look at my Vehicle anytime I need them too. They were fast and their rates shocked me, I dont believe anyone in the Farmington and Novi area can beat their prices and quality of services. They also gave me a military discount which really meant a lot to me.If you have a high performance car that needs any normal maintenance that you can not do yourself or even if you just have a car that needs routine maintenance and need it to be done right the first time in a timely fashion and at prices that are amazing contact these people. And for my other service men and women you really need to check these guys out.P.S. Also cleanest garage Ive ever been too!!!!!
It was Saturday and my sister in law was out with my wife. She experienced a loud disturbing noise just be fore arriving after a 3 hour drive. She was very concerned about returning to her home Sunday. I volunteered my help to have it taken care of. I found Farmington Garage and took a chance with them. The service rep was very friendly and helpful. They quickly determined the problem and gave me an estimate. They took car of it and I soon took the car knowing that she would be safe going home.
Edit: I had someone to go to your location for me. I’m 100% sure my car was dropped off, diagnosed and put back together THERE. A 36 month warranty does not justify almost double the amount for the repair. Also, if you want to offer your customers 3 years warranty, don’t enforce it. Offer it as an extended warranty instead of forcing customers to pay for the extended period. Also, on top of it, you had an opportunity to make amends with a customer, but you insist on defending yourself instead. You should applaud yourself for being a “professional” business. And yes, have a happy 4th if July.Overpriced, over double of what you would normally pay somewhere else. Literally, got a quote from somewhere else for half the price. Force you on a diagnostic fee so they make something when they tell you a ridiculous quote. Told them I couldn’t afford the price they were telling me and I would come back later for the repair and asked if they would help with the diagnostic fee. They refused. Would never come here in a million years and I’m definitely going to recommend people to NOT come here. Thanks for reading this. Don’t be scammed. Get better quotes at real places. If you want to pay top dollar you might as well take it to your dealership.
Follow up visit went well too.---------I came here for the first time today based on the great recommendations on google and nextdoor, and because Im not happy with my dealership. Ben was very friendly, the lobby and waiting area is very inviting and pleasing, I sat there with a heart rate of 65 BPM compared to 85 at Starbucks the same morning ;-). Vehicle was completely checked and alignment performed in a little over an hour. I will come back for future vehicle service.
Ive been in the automotive field for over 43 years, and I recently had a vehicle in for service at the Farmington Garage, and I found the staff and the technicians to be courteous, professional and provided a comfortable atmosphere to conduct business. Ive experienced many repair facilities in my career and this is one that I would highly recommend to take your vehicle in for service, knowing that you will receive honest pricing and quality repair.!!
Nice garage, comfortable waiting room, sale staff was very professional. Only gripe was the lack of communication between the sales and the mechanics. Had to bring vehicle back because job was not complete and hood was left open. I value being able to talk to the mechanics directly to avoid things like this. Great garage, just not my cup of tea.
I needed a rear brake caliper replaced on my vehicle, and not only did they charge a ludicrous price for this service that was significantly cheaper at every shop I called, but they tried to add a bunch of other services on my invoice that I certainly didnt need. I declined the service and paid the $60 inspection fee, which to their credit is fair. However, my experience worsened while I was watching a technician put the wheels back on my car. He used an impact wrench to put the lugs back on, and he didnt use a torque wrench. When I asked him if he torqued the wheels, he gave me a dirty look and said my gun is pre-set. Ive been doing this for 42 years... like I didnt know what I was talking about. Well, youve been doing it wrong for 42 years. He claimed his gun was pre-set to 105 (I assume lb-ft - he didnt even bother giving units). Even if that WAS true, he over-torqued my wheels; I drive a Honda Civic, and the torque specs are 80 lb-ft. Im an automotive engineer, so I could see this rip-off from a mile away as soon as I got the invoice, but for less experienced car owners, this shop can and probably will rob you. I highly recommend avoiding this shop as well as their sister locations The Detroit Garage, The Hamburg Garage, and The Livonia Garage. Your money is much better spent elsewhere.UPDATE AS OF 7/5/19: I have not been contacted despite the reply to this review saying this would happen. Also, they completely hid the bad review on their website, and they only display 5 star reviews, which is obviously misleading to any potential customers. Again, I stress that you look elsewhere for automotive repair.
Ben and TJ went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of, and all I needed was a pre-purchase inspection for $99. I suspected the first vehicle I brought in smelled like smoke, and they quickly determined it was owned by a smoker and even showed me the signs to look for. They didnt charge me when I decided I didnt want that vehicle, but I was happy to bring back another one I had put an offer on. One hour and $99 later, I had a complete rundown of the vehicles condition, which ended up saving me $500 off the agreed price. Would definitely recommend and I plan on doing business with them again in the future.
Thank you for offering completely free of charge oil changes to first responders! What a great way to show appreciation to those that tirelessly care for others. Last year this service was offered one day only, this year an entire week, it can’t be beat and I’ve yet to see another local shop do this. The staff is far above the rest and this is the nicest and friendliest place I’ve ever been. Everyone is very knowledgeable, friendly, and very honest. I couldn’t ask for more in a shop. I won’t be going anywhere else. Thank you again! - A very happy and satisfied paramedic
My wife went here to have her vehicle checked and had an amazing experience. The crew there were welcoming and knowledgeable in explaining to my wife what was happening and the best course of action to fix it. Would recommend anyone to any of the Detroit Garage locations.
The two gentlemen that I spoke with over the phone were professional in their tone, had customer service skills, and were most definitely sales men. They were in the process of selling my daughter 9 states away a set (front only) of brakes and pads for her 2016 Chrysler for over $500. This included $200 worth of labor which really means... 30 mins of work and a warranty. When I spoke to the salesman on the phone myself he tried to explain to me about pricing and how different it is state to state. Like I needed a geography or a consumer lesson. This same salesman interaction with my daughter was to tell her that she was going to also need several other repairs on her car (including shocks) totaling $2000.00. My daughter knew that sounded a little extreme so she only agreed to the brakes and pads. Their unprofessional behavior, and their disregard for good business practice leaves medumbfounded that the good people of Farmington Hills, MI would entrust them with their vehicles let alone their hard earned money.
I loved this garage for my oil change. They are clean and have everything you might need to hang out there for a while, if needed. They talked me into a full check-up, which I barely had time for. (I was on my lunch break.) But then they strongly recommended I get my headlight changed out, which ended up needing an extra part. They had to order this part and said it wont take long. Even after the extra check-up I planned on getting back to work at 1:30, but didnt get back to work until 3:30!
Updating my first review from 2 years ago. Still 5-stars. Just had Farmington Garage service my car during the COVID-19 lockdown. Loved how I was able to call for appointment, drive in, leave keys in car and leave. When car was ready (within hours), they called, I opted to pay over phone then walked uptown to pick up car - with key and receipt already inside. Seamless, safe and reliable. . Of course, FG has been my trusted auto service place for years due to their typical great service, knowledgeable expertise, courteous treatment and reasonable pricing. Still highly recommended.
I cant say enough about how awesome these guys are. I went here on a recommendation from a neighbor and their mechanics were able to figure what was wrong after my regular mechanic told me my car was a lost cause. They took me under thr car and showed me what was going on and explained in all in terms I understood. The level of customer service and professionalism is top notch!I wont go anywhere else and will highly recommend them to anyone needing car repair.
I had a very pleasant experience with this place. Staffs are friendly and services are great. I visited here 2 times, 1st time for changing my cars timing belt, 2nd time for replacing a blown fuse which caused fans to stop working properly. They provided me uber rides to get me to my office and offered detailed updates on my cars repairment, would definitely visit again for my cars maintaince.
Stay away from this place at all cost. They are a giant rip off. They charge twice the price as the OEM dealership. I took my wifes Equinox in for a simple oil change. I was notified by the service advisor that the technician discovered a broken rear spring. I was quoted $599 to replace both springs. Thinking that price was steep I called Serra Chevrolet for a quote. Their price, $350 installed and out the door. Not to mention they tried to charge me $50 for an engine air filter. Its $25! The oil change was $46 dollars, and Serra charges $36.
I am very thankful for the time that was taken by Curtis to gather information on my vehical, and then how through the report of my vehicle was before any work was done to it. He laid out the cost, the reason, and also how much longer I could go before having the work done. I didnt need to know car stuff - he made sure I understood what he was explaining before moving on to the next thing. This is now my go to place if I need any work done on my vehical!
Great service! My family and I drove to Farmington for the Founders parade and ran over a large nail while en route. We made it to the parking lot of a local business in Farmington as a tire was getting very low on air. I walked over to Farmington Garage and spoke with Patrick. Patrick was very polite and professional. Farmington Garage came and got our car, and repaired the tire while my family enjoyed the parade. Patrick then came and found me down the street, returned my key and said we were all set, not charging us for the repair. Thanks again to Patrick and his team!
The service staff here is better than at the Audi dealership!Very helpful, they know what they are talking about, and will even let you look at your own car up in the air, showing you what is wrong/broken.Forget the overpriced and under appreciative dealerships, go local, and go to Farmington Garage.
As an update to my prior review I have changed my rating to 4 stars:1 star previously for having a nice facility/lobby area and courteous service advisors1 additional star for caring enough about their reputation to read reviews and resolve outstanding issues1 additional star for caring about their customer satisfaction enough to contact their customers and work towards a satisfactory resolution1 additional star for quality workNo 5th star because it took posting a bad review before a resolution was resolved when it could have easily been resolved beforehand. Yes, my AC problems where created elsewhere and, yes, I was unhappy with a previous garage but I chose FG because of its good reviews and expected all problems to be resolved. So, yes, I felt I should not have had to visit the garage 2x and pay 2x for a problem that existed on the 1st visit. Nonetheless, manager Andy and I came to a satisfactory repair and resolution for both parties. Kudos to Andy for calling me and working with me. On that note I can honestly say I would recommend Farmington Garage and have no problem with choosing them for any future repairs on my vehicle. So my son moved to Farmington Hills and, because I couldnt fix the AC on my 2006 BMW X5 before he left TN, we selected Farmington Garage. I specifically mentioned that the fuse for the AC controls was blowing intermittently and, when the controls were functioning, the AC was not cooling. After diagnosis the problem was stated as a system leak but, obviously, troubleshooting went no further. Also, a safety inspection was performed on the vehicle, not at my request but as a service to the customer. Of course I consider this a scam to generate more work for the garage since, IMO, any problem can be found on a used vehicle. Recommendations made to replace rear ball joints and, since well be in the same area and to save labor costs, also recommend replacing front ball joints and CV axles at a total cost > $3000. No thank you. Parts online < $600, Ill do it myself WHEN its needed. AC repairs made at a cost of ~$350. Wow! But... it comes with a 3 yr warranty! Like thats worth it... A few days later, my son tries the AC FOR THE 1ST TIME and the fuse blows immediately. Because he had just started a new job it took him a few weeks to return the vehicle to FG. After diagnosis, FG found a shorted wire pinched at the compressor and wanted an additional $448.48. Seriously? Not covered by the warranty though I specifically mentioned this problem the 1st time? 2 different issues and controls were working the entire time it was here is their stance. Really? Guess that wire pinched itself on the compressor once the car left the garage because the AC didnt work after that. Maybe better troubleshooting would have helped instead of performing the safety inspection.?!!! Again, no thank you on the repairs though I had to pay $120 for the diagnosis. MY RECOMMENDATION IS TO FIND A DIFFERENT GARAGE! One that actually listens to the customer, troubleshoots the actual problem, and is not in the business of conducting safety inspections to drum up additional work.
It is a good place with helpful people but I think it is expensive though. Being a first time visitor I felt that they have too much in labor charges than parts. for example it was around $136 to check the car which took around 2 hours or so but then they charged around $250 for an hour worth of work (started at 5:00 PM and got the car by 6:00 PM) to change transmission fluid and solenoid. The thing, I liked about the place is the people who are very helpful and quick to take a look at problems and provide resolution.I think it is the computer system that works that way in terms of charging labor.I am generally happy that they did a fine job but not very happy about too much labor charges. May be something for the management to look at.
I first went to the Farmington garage when I was driving to work one day and the power steering went out on my car. I was able to get the car to their parking lot. They not only diagnosed the problem but they checked with Ford and found out that the car had an extended recall. They did all of the talking with Ford they got the car to and from the Ford dealer and gave me a loaner to drive at a small fee. I ended up in the hospital and was unable to return the loaner car right away. When my daughter did return the loaner car, explained to them that I was in the hospital and I would get my car when I got out of the hospital. They let her take my car home and trusted me to go back and pay for it when I was out of the hospital and feeling better. Andy the owner restored all of my daughters faith in humanity in that one second. I have told my family friends and anybody I know how awesome they are at the Farmington garage. And I will be going back
Excellent Customer Service! Caitlin was amazing when I submitted a question via the website. Even though it was after hours, she was quick to respond back and forth until we made an appointment for the following morning. Caitlin was an amazing first contact and the guys at the shop continued the great service. Well done and thank you!
Ive taken my Volvo to Farmington Garage a few times for maintenance and major repairs. On each occasion, James and his staff have correctly diagnosed and repaired complex issues with expertise, promptly. I finally have a mechanic I can actually trust to do the job right. Cleanest shop in town.
I was received by Ben who was very nice and attentative. He made sure that the right repair was provided to the issue I had and was not incessant on selling me other repairs or add-ons I dont need nor want. Also, he was able to give me a good estimation on the length of the repair. Their facility is superb and very clean! Thanks Ben and Farmington Garage!
Great spot for an oil change. They were friendly and xplained the whole process with me. Farmington Garage also has better prices than the previous shop I went to. And the best part is that you can walk around downtown Farmington to Starbucks or one of the restaraunts for lunch while waiting. They will call you once your vehicle is done.
James was great with the description of what needed to be serviced. In 5 days, I returned to have my van serviced and Ben was accommodating about giving me ride to my home. Few minutes later, he called to let me know that wrong part was ordered, he would gladly collect me so I dont waste precious time. Ben was very apologetic. If I didnt receive the great introduction from James, I would be worried, but with Bens apologies it was no chance that I can trust another mechanic like Farmington Garage mechanics. The 36 reviews on Google were priceless. Thank you very much.
I bought a car in that was making an awful noise. I assumed that it was the serpentine belt. They took the belt off, checked the tensioners, then replaced the same belt!! My original belt was in perfect condition. I never would have known the difference. There was no charge!!Wow.. An honest garage!I will be bringing another car for shock and strut work.
As usual Ben took good care of me and also noted some maintenance items to consider doing. I have been going to this physical location now for 30 years. So Farmington Garage is the third generation to have a service center here. I miss Frank and his team. But Ben and the new team have become my new family. They have done work on our Jeeps and my wifes SAAB 9-3 convertible. Tell them Larry Fee recommended them and you get a $30 discount and I get one too. The family helping family mind set.
I was apprehensive about what to expect from a shop that looked more like a Starbucks than a auto repair place, especially on my foreign car. But boy could I not have been more impressed! Not only were the gentlemen up front kind and professional, but they even found things I didn’t expect and fixed it for much less than I thought it would be! And they washed my car for me! I’ll be back and I’ll bring as many people as I can with me!
I suddenly came upon an emergency with my 2009 Tiguan VW. My regular mechanics were booked into the late month and Farmington Garage invited me to drop off my car right away. The next day I got the bad news that the timing chain had gone... but the car was worth the surgery.TJ at Farmington Garage was exceptional in handling my car. The approach to service and attention to getting my car on the road again quickly was remarkable. The garage is conveniently located in downtown Farmington - across the street from my Crossfit training gym. They were kind enough to drop by - pick up my car or drop off keys to their loaner car so I wouldn’t have to stop my workout! - such hometown service you don’t get these days.Apart from the initial diagnostic fee that most garages don’t charge, Farmington Garage’s workmanship is spot on. I had the work examined by my usual car mechanics and they verified they had done a really good job! They were impressed!Thank you TJ for seeing the job thru. Now for the bill. :)
I messed up my sideview mirror on Prius a couple weeks ago. Called them, they said they would order the part. Come friday I drop off my car. They call me the next morning and tell me that they accidentally got a mirror for an f150 and didnt bother to check until that morning. So I go back and pick up my car. Super inconvenient and obnoxious, eslecially at their prices, but I get it, mistakes happen sometimes you slide on ice and hit a neighbors mailbox and explode your mirror, sometimes you mean to get a part for a midsized Japanese hybrid, and you order a part for a massive American pickup truck. Understandable, very inconvenient but ultimately it wasnt that big a deal. Then comes this weekend, they call me saying they got the part (again) and the guy is like so do you want to bring that by today? And Im like yeah, how long does it take you to do something like that and he is like oh it usually takes me about an hour just make sure you get it in before 3 and Im like ok cool I will do that. And the guy Repeats Himself yeah just be sure to get it in before 3. Come time when I get there at 2:45 (before 3, if you were keeping score) and then the guy goes oh Im sorry we close at three so we cant help you todaySo now this is the third week of driving around with no side mirror, and planning my weekends around getting rides to take my car in to the shop only to be turned away do to incompetence, or someone not understanding how English works and or not knowing when their shop closes.Basic customer service would probably kick in and say maybe we should do something because of how much we are yanking this guy around but nahhh, not this place. Also dont even get me started on when I tried to get a tire replaced there. 3 tires they gave me that all failed within 2-3 weeks. Weird, I wish we could do something, but I guess you just got unlucky and the winter is real bad was their response as they rang me up again -> weird how I stopped getting lucky once I went to discount tire.
If you are looking for professional and high quality auto repair go to The Farmington Garage. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly and make you feel comfortable about your vehicle. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone in the area looking for auto repair!!
Can not believe how beautiful this place is! Fireplace makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Stars hanging from the ceiling are very festive. Aaaaaand they fixed the 4x4 on my truck for less than a grand. Grant is a phenomenal tech and Helena loves hugs. I will definitely be coming back!
This place definitely is my go to when it comes to any service on my vehicles. It is nice to support a local business, and Andy the owner goes above and beyond to take care of my vehicles and is very transparent and fair with his prices. Plus they have free snacks and drinks! :)
Thanks for doing a terrific job installing new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on my wheels. Balanced with addition of minimal weight and not a scratch on my wheels. I appreciate it!Farmington Garage uses top shelf Hunter tire installation and wheel balancing equipment. So if you love your wheels, this is the place to have your tires done. Also noticed Hunter alignment rack and a well kept, tidy garage area.Hoists have rubber padding on lift points that touch car underbody. This helps prevent underbody sealant /paint damage, critical in MI where salt, brine, calcium chloride are used in winter and rust any exposed metal aggressively. Every garage should be required to have rubber pads on hoists, but I find most do not.Thank you!

2022-04-26This place is very expensive. Diagnostic fees alone were hundreds of dollars and do not go towards the repair. Took my car here because the battery had trouble keeping a charge and starting. I thought the battery was good but they told me the battery had dead/faulty cells and needed to be replaced. They could not proceed with the diagnostics until I authorized them to put in a new battery, so my hands were kind of tied. So not only did I have to buy a new battery, the diagnostic then revealed no issues. I also had them recharge my AC since it was not blowing cold air. They also suggested replacing the serpentine belts and getting new brakes. I reluctantly agreed to the belts but not the brakes since it was extremely expensive. Ended up taking my car somewhere else for brakes where I saved a few hundred bucks and found out they could have replaced the belts for half the price. So while the staff is very nice and my car is still running well, I will probably not be coming back unless I have a warranty issue. I will add that one thing I did like is they send you an email/text with all the work that needs to be done and you can approve or decline each individual service.

2022-06-08Overall, I am pleased with the service I received here. I have used their services before and will likely again. My beef with them is hard to describe. My car is 14 years old and needed an A/C compressor. The price for the part exceeded $600 and another $600 in labor to install. When I questioned it, I was told that it was the factory authorized part, or something to that effect, and it came with a three year warranty. A quick internet search pulled up compressors anywhere from $99 to $320, some with warranties. I asked if there wasnt a quality refurbished compressor available, as I dont believe its necessary to spend top dollar on parts for a14 year old vehicle. They seemed to take offense, and suggested that I get used to rolling my windows down.I understand the need to use quality parts, but I also understand that a 14 year old car does not require a $600 part when a $300 part will do the job. They could stand to be a little flexible and work with people who dont require the top of the line in their older vehicles.

2022-02-22Service staff was nice and seemingly helpful but it was clear from the start they only care about nickle and diming you. Any diagnostic work is charged per service and doesnt count towards the repair itself. So you gamble with whether or not the part needs to be replaced. The garage prices are crazy expensive. They make you jump through hoops to pay for the service or charge extra for using a debit card. They explained the approval or services as being simple. They text a link to your phone for you to review and then approve or deny services. Its not optimized for mobile so its difficult to use, easy to fat finger buttons, and very difficult to see the photos they attach to the service line item. They came up with repairs that totaled over 5k$ and some of that was just diagnosing if there were even more things to be repaired. Definitely the one and only time Ill be using this garage.

2022-06-30Awsome experience at the Farmington Garage, Sarah was very helpful and knowledgeable on what needed to be done. Her and the crew were professional and fast while working on my vehicle and kept me informed of all the progress until it was ready for me to pick up.. I WILL NOT use a other service unless I absolutely have to! And also the complimentary car detail inside and out is a nice bonus!!

2022-02-23They text your estimate with all the pricing and labor costs and you have to go in and accept or decline the repair so it is nice if you do not want everything done. Very transparent and makes it convenient and quicker instead of playing phone tag. They even looked to find a cheaper part for my turbo solenoid on my Ford Escape.

2022-07-08The folks at The Farmington Garage are terrific. Excellent, professional service on my older minivan. Delivered on what they promised and completed all repairs ahead of schedule. Friendly, knowledgeable personnel answered all my questions and didn’t try to write more work than I needed. I highly recommend this local FH Garage.

2022-06-01I took my 2007 Maserati in for chuck hole damage, tire pressure sensors and deck lid closing issues. All the work was completed (new front tires, new tire sensors and cable issues on deck lid) in a timely manner and I was kept up to date on all repairs. Farmington Garage is now my go to auto repair facility. A shout out to Sarah and Mike for being so helpful. 👍

2022-03-10Brought the vehicle in for an inspection which included testing the wipers. The vehicle hadn’t been driven in really but a mile or two in 1yr. Upon picking up the vehicle and driving away I discovered the wipers didn’t shut off. It was like they were stuck on the lowest intermittent setting yet in the inspection report, it says they work just fine. Was basically told they worked when the inspection was done and was basically dismissed and said it must have happened when I picked it up. They still work so they were right but just won’t stop working. Could have happened when I drove away but highly unlikely. Now I am questioning did they even inspect my vehicle or the quality just isn’t there. It is this kind of service that makes me question taking my vehicles to an auto shop. Otherwise, I think everything else is fine so far.

2022-08-19I went there for a front-end alignment (i do all my car repairs myself, the alignment is the only work i cant). Was highly skeptical at first (especially given the reviews i read), but they earned their money and their keep, fair and square! The part i didnt like at all was inclusion of $8.80 in shop fees on top of the quoted $80 for the alignment. For putting the car on an alignment rack and not using any actual consumables (no oil, washers, bolts, rags, etc), charging shop fees for this is lame. But i said meh! and just moved on.I was also suspicious when i didnt see anyone working on my car (a couple mchanics were casually chatting outside the service bay) and when they claimed the tire pressure in one of my tires was low - but it turns out there WAS someone actually working on my car (i just didnt see him!) And they were right all along about my low tire pressure! So KUDOS to them on that, and sorry for giving them a hard time.At the end, after approx 1 hour, the alignment was absolutely PERFECT (well within the tollerances), the steering wheel perfectly straight, and the car perfectly aligned on the road! They also gave me a printout with pictures of their findings - i already knew what was going on with my car, but for everyone else this will be very helpful.Tips:As part of the work they do, they also offer a free pit stop inspection. DO take advantage of it! It takes an additional 30-40 minutes and it will tell you lots of good info about your car.Did they have the lowest price for the front-end alignment? No. There are shops in the Livonia /Dearborn Heights area that do an excellent job for $60 (no shop fees and with all taxes included) - if you have time, call around and youll find them. Their price (Farmington Garage) was $80, and i guess that if someone lives in the Farmington (Hills)/Bloomfield /Rotal Oak area (where the shops charge $100 and above for the same), this may seem quite decent. But i do shop around and know my car shops. I chose Farmington Garage this time because they were close by and due to the proximity and my time crunch, paying them an extra $20 seemed like a good compromise for me.For the West Bloomfield / Farmington /Farmington Hills / Novi residents, i think Farmington Gagarage is a good choice.Would i go here again? Probably yes - the quality of work was outstanding, and despite me being clearly suspicious, the service advisor (Sara) was still highly professional and curteous (and at the end, after seeing that there was nothing shady going on, my suspicions vanished and i had changed my mind).Another note: their customer waiting area was clean and organized, they had water / coffee / soda drinks available in a fridge, and a jar of snacks & a coloring book for children (the last 2 came in handy for me, as i took my toddler along on this trip and it kept her happy and busy). Additional kudos for thinking of this ;) I would add a couple more coloring books to the pile, though, theyre cheap Dolllar Tree purchases ;)

2022-03-27Checked my Chevy cruze for stabili trak issue. They fixed it fast but cannot be sure if they fixed it correctly as it happened three times where i had to use towing. Changed ignition coils and somethings but did not fix the issue completely. I do appreciate that they did not charge any fee to fix it the second and third time but not confident that they fixed the vehicle properly after paying 2250$ with them. The issue happened 3 times within a month and half and with less than 500 miles driven between the issues. The customer service is courteous and responsive.
