The food was good, but not as good as our last visit. The place was busy, but even so our wait for the food we ordered was very long, right at 45 minutes. Very clean inside.
Ordered 11 things and only 4 where good that was the 2 cokes 1 ice tea 1 water. Lets start with French Onion soup my wife and I Ordered it well it was good except they forgot the bread in it. So that is six things total now. Main meal wife and I split a Italian sub nice and full bun toasted nicely but the meat was still frozen waitress did offered to take it back but we did not feel like waiting 30 minutes yes they where very slow and not busy at all four tables in back and maybe two to three tables upfront. Kids meal they complained fries where soggy and cold along with there chicken tenders being cold. So that is 9 things oh the other two things we never even got appetizers. The reason why two stars and not one cause I know the owner and I am pretty sure he will take care of it

While visiting a friend, I seen this place, and I wanted to stop in for lunch.First impressions...appealing but wasnt the look I was expecting for the reputation it has.Got inside and was pleasantly greeted.Kind of dark and dismal but appeared clean and up kept. I did not visit the restrooms, which I normally do when I know I will be leaving a review...AnyhooWe, chose to sit out on the patio.Charming and pleasant out there.A bit Weird to look into the connected hotel swimming area but once our waitress arrived she picked up my spirits.Friendly, upbeat, and knew her menu and specials.I am disappointed for forgetting her name... She deserves recognition.The food was great! Served promptly and wonderfully prepared. I ordered one of my favorites that I order everywhere I can.Mushroom Swiss burger! (which just so happened to be a part of the burger special of the day.)The Bun was toasted perfectly.Burger cooked to my likings.Juicy and tasty.I opted for waffle fries which were also crisp and delicious. They have homemade ranch which was a perfect pairing for a dipping sauce!My gal pal ordered a flat bread pizza which I didnt try but it looked amazing!All in all, my lunch experience was amazing! And I plan on returning in the future, on my next road trip, to check out the night life there.

I wish I could give more stars!My husband and I stayed at the hotel attached to the gathering place and went to the bar to see if the bartenders were fun! Rachel and Ashley were so much fun!!! I wish it wasnt a 3.5 hour drive one way!We had the Spicy Italian flatbread made into a pizza, it was the BEST pizza!We regret not ordering a pizza to take home.

We had a surprise birthday party in their banquet room. I was elated to see the nice details taken including tablecloths on the tables. The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. I would recommend for a party or just night out for fun.

If I could leave a NEGATIVE 5 star review, I would. When visiting home, I wanted to meet up with some friends that still live in the Bad Axe area. Upon ordering our drinks, we were approached by a 2nd waitress disputing that our IDs were “fake”. While inspecting our IDs (for the second time), the second waitress proceeds to start peeling the laminate off one of my friends IDs. Needless to say, the 5 drinks and 5 shots we ordered unfortunately went to waste (which was really unfortunate for them because we ordered more drinks than there were people in there)If you’re looking for a good place to go to with great drinks, head down the street to Rachel’s!
Serwas great!5 stars. Pizza was undercooked, doughy. Sent it back. Same pizza brought back. They put it under the warmers hoping for the best? Waitress was awesome. Took it off our bill. We tipped accordingly. Not her fault the kitchen messed up.
Service is hit or miss. Either its great or terrible. If youre a regular, you can usually pick up on when its best to eat somewhere else.Tonight? Fries so greasy, they leave a puddle on the table.And no, thats definitely NOT condensation from the glass.

Quite a variety of different sandwiches and menu items. The onion rings are delicious. I recommend the fish sandwich, it is very large and can feed you later if you take half of it to go. The owner Travis is quite friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating. A great atmosphere indoors to chat and relax with friends! Almost forgot to mention the pizza is fantastic and that is what they are known for. They also have a unique dessert option: self serve soft serve ice cream
I love everything about this place. But for some reason they cant seem to be able to make crispy bacon to put on waffle fries or anything else Ive ordered. Maybe a bad review could help them figure it out!

This is one of the best places to eat in Bad Axe. It is attached to a decent hotel so when you finish eating you have the option of not having to drive. I have been dining there for at least ten years.

Lol. I guess doughballs are 50 cents a piece now. Barely the bottom of the box is filled for $7. Roughly the same price at other locations except you get so much more. First pic is from Gathering place second is from Charmont in Cass City. These are about the same price.
There was a group of younger men at the bar who were loud and offended and older woman and by the end of the night the older woman was very rude to them and ran them off without them having a chance to pay their bill! It was pretty funny to me but it wasnt funny at all to the waitress or the bartender who was very upset in the end I found this entertaining however if I hadnt already been drinking I would have been quite irritated. The food was basic the cervix was pretty good but overall I have to give them to Starz because of the strange disruption
Good average family style, American food. The atmosphere is good for drinkers and family as the restaurant has a bar area and a non-bar area. I would definitely recommend the rueban and friend pickles. They also have pretty good soup bowls. The only thing that sucks is their service because they pretend to ignore you.
Went with a group of 10, there was no one else in the restaurant. Half of the food arrived 10 minutes after ordering while a few other orders trickled in slowly. My food didnt reach my table until about an hour after ordering, when the rest of the party was ready to leave. The waitress was nice, but wouldnt go back because of slow service.
Always a sure bet that the food will be good and the staff will be friendly and attentive to your dining needs. Today I enjoyed a Reuben with sweet potato fries. Absolutely delicious. The many flavors of frozen yogurt and variety of toppings are hard to resist.
Girls nite, service was good, even with the place being full. Snacks and burgers were good.
The Works burger was delicious and my wife loved her pizza. The waitrrss was very helpful with selecting from menu items. Went back later to the bar for some brew. Limited selection of beer but the bartenders personality made up for it.
I would not recommend this place if you have more then 4 people in your party! They only had 1 waitress for our group of 20. We had made reservations a week out so they would be ready. It took over an hour to get our food which came out cold and over cooked. We were not offered refills on our drinks and the waitress was never around! For the amount of money we dropped at this place you would have thought it would have been a 5 star restaurant!

Food was good, service was ok. We were there on the day that they were scheduled to have their Christmas party and they seemed in a bit of a rush to get us out of there. They have a self-serve frozen yogurt bar, which is cool. However, they broke it down like an hour early so my kids didnt get to try it, which was a major bummer because they were so excited about. It was especially annoying because they turned it back on for some other guests, but refused to do the same when my kids rushed out there so they could have some too.
Drinks are cold, and the bar tenders love to chat. Biker friendly and happening place, to meet up after work or a late night beverage. Lunch menu, and pizza.... well sad to say we will just not bring up that. Pretty much a place to stop and socialize. ***Big help!*** Get the waitress off their Phones and to tables more! Been in numerous times to stop and visit a friend or 2 and not once was I offered something to drink or a menu. The girl/s know that I didnt come in with, so treat as if they just sat down.
Food is excellent but the last 3 times , i wasitheretheservice was poor. Ordered two kids meals and didnt get the sides. After waiting quite some time for waitress to come back to ask...she said we had to order them....any decent thewaitress would have asked if they wanted them if they came with the meal...i didnt think when i i sa kids meal i had to tell her what it came with..not to mention they never were offered their freezepop dessert...it wasnt busy at all. Then my whole group left and i was still waiting for my change.
The lady there started screen at me because I couldnt prove I was 21 all I had was a non picture ID. My freinds bought me me some birthday shots with out me asking and then she kicked us all out I gwt she has a job to keep safe but she coulda been way more chill since im actually 21

Busy restaurant on a weekend night. Service was below average , waitresses seem understaffed and inexperienced. Pizza was slightly burnt , over sauced and skimpy on toppings, but was tolerable, could be really good if they just tried a little.

Great for lunch or dinner. Avoid before noon. They suffer from Rural Restaurant Atrophy.Went here for breakfast at 11:20 on a Sunday morning. Got a Reuben, bowl of French Onion, Coffee, and water. Coffee served in a glass beer mug? Thatd be fine if the coffee wasnt weak and reheated. (To be fair, it may have been instant. My nose is a bit off these days.) No sugar/creamer served with coffee. No fried foods because the friars hadnt heated up since opening. (They arent the first thing you turn on before you open?!) Also got to listen to the waitress flirt with the Firemen while my transparent coffee mug sat prominently on the edge of the table for ~10 min. Got my food, and that was fine. If I wouldve had fries, I probably wouldve shut up, enjoyed my meal, and been done with it. But then the waitress asked IF I needed change....Miss? If the food youre serving is not quite ready for showtime and youre slow getting the coffee and youre focused on hanging out with non-paying firemen instead of your customers? Dont be shocked if you get stiffed on the tip. Calling me darling and honey only works if you meet the minimum service qualifications. (Like keeping my coffee full and not also calling the firemen darling within earshot.) And asking about WHETHER I want change on my bill? That is the definition of tasteless. I will happily tip 20% when Im good and ready. Dont get greedy and jump the gun. It can make customers vindictive.TL:DR Good food when they have a chance to get ready for customers. Very local service standards. Go after 12 pm.
Personal pizzas top notch. They heat up at home good too. Great pricing on specials. Frozen yogurt...make your own sundae. I love that dessert choice.
Usually I enjoy going here. However, This time I came in on a lunch break and stood at the counter waiting to be seated for 15min. There were people at the bar but no one to seat people and no sign instructing me to seat myself or to wait. Very frustrating so I took my money else where.
Waited over an hour on a burger and fries because the kitchen did not get the ticket. Wait staff was good, they were not busy and things were taking a very long time. It was my first and last time there.

Dont waist your time and money. I booked a wedding rehearsal party there and got the pizza package deal, we got very little food and soda was part of the package but no soda was even served and we still got charged for it, the management would not adjust the bill. For what I paid and what little we got it was a total rip off!!
This is a great place to gather! Only thing is you have to have the right person bartending and waitressing! Some can turn your night into a night you will never forget and others will make you leave and never come back!

2021-08-17The pizza was good. The tables and bathroom were clean. They must have been short staffed because it took them a long time to bring out our beverages- we could hear them saying they ran out of cups.The kids grilled cheese was really bad- my son cried when I made him eat half, and I felt awful after taking a bite afterward because it was really gross.The employees were friendly. Food was priced fairly.I would order pizza from them again. They also have frozen yogurt. The yogurt itself was good, but they had toppings out like caramel that needed to be refrigerated like it says on the bottle, and were room temperature.

2022-06-13We ordered the Hawaiian pizza with BBQ sauce instead of pizza sauce! It was delicious. Ashley was our server, she was great and kept our drinks full! Strawberry cider boys is on tap and we loved it!

2022-01-20My immediate family and myself went here after a memorial service for a family member. Everyone ordered something different to suit their tastes. The food here is beyond excellent! Everyone agreed! The service was great. The waitress was very attentive and asked if we needed anything else and refilled our drinks often. We even enjoyed playing some Keno. Everyone was happy with the prices. I definitely will return!!

2021-09-19We stayed at the hotel next door so this place was super convenient. We got a pizza to take back to our room. The pizza was pretty decent but could have been cooked a bit longer. Reasonable price.

2022-04-11Me and my husband decided to try this place for the first time, I guess I should have read the reviews first because I guess it’s very common that the food is cold. We ordered a chicken club sandwich, rueben sandwich with thousand island on the side, nacho supreme and onion rings. The rueben was the only good thing we bought and we didn’t get our side of dressing. Onion rings were soggy, chicken club sandwich was cold and didn’t have tomato lettuce or Mayo, and our nachos were extremely cold and unsatisfying, seems like it only got cooked to barely melt the cheese and they threw cold toppings on top of it. Amelia was super polite when my husband called back to ask for a refund for the chicken club, but honestly should have gotten a refund for the whole meal minus the rueben. Super disappointed. Will not eat here again unfortunately. This seems to be a normal problem of overly greasy/soggy/cold food.

2022-01-23Waitress Kim was very attentive and got us our food and drinks quickly. Owner stopped by the table to see how everything was which you do not see everywhere. Quesadilla and potato skins were delicious along with our mixed drinks!!!
