We had our wedding at the Henry on June 25th, 2022. From the moment we got out of the car, our experience was wonderful! Even the bell hops were amazing. We worked directly with Pam DeYoung while planning and she went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Our suites to get ready in were out of this world. Our guests all commented on how amazing the food was! The staff at The Henry made our day wonderful and stress free!
The most racist hotel I ever stayed in, they took my suite and revoked my extension. When I asked the black manager why she kept charging my card, which caused fraudulent activity, she proceeded to call the Dearborn police. They escorted me out through a hidden elevator away from the public. Honestly, there are way better hotels. They allow smoking on the club floor, which Is supposed to be for the upper-class guests dont support Hispanic bell person gives dirty looks even though I had a room on the club floor.
Just ok fortnehme nightly charge. The hotel itself is nice but the service is just ok. Pool had no towels and needed to ask and wait to get some. Had to call for new towels for room and waited 5 hours but never got any new towels. However when we complaint regarding loud nightly noise we got two breakfast coupons which was nice. The breakfast buffet was not great with many things sitting out for hours and drying out. So glad we did not have to pay for it. They do have a Starbucks coffee maker on the lobby which did not work but was also $5 for a regular coffee!!!
Don’t waste your time. Dirty, dingy, not as advertised, and poor customer service. We chose this property specifically because it was advertised as luxury. Frette luxury linens, featherbed, marble bathroom and lighted vanity mirror is advertised. None of those items exist. Management knows and won’t correct it. Sheets are so thin you can see through them. Cleanliness is lacking. I had stained sheets on my bed initially, which appeared to be bed bug marks (luckily my room was all good, and no evidence of them), but they changed my sheets and put MORE stained sheets on, this time no idea what the stains were. My shower had mold/mildew build up, there was dust coated in vents, it was not even close to being luxury. I also had to call security 3xs in the middle of the night due to noisy guests next door. Security did nothing. I had to knock on their door myself and ask them to quiet down. Furthermore, the management here has NOT gotten back to me to resolve this issue or offer to return any of my Marriott points. This was such a disappointing stay. I am so embarrassed that I wasted 56k hard earned points on this hotel. This is no better than a Fairfield Inn, and I could have saved 32,000 points by just staying there for the subpar experience.
It’s been quite some time since I visited this hotel. I booked 3 rooms to accommodate 4 adults and 5 kids for our visit to Greenfield Village’s holiday nights nearby. I was happy to see familiar faces like Marty at the door and to see that the staff was as pleasant as ever just as they were when this hotel was the Ritz Carlton. While the updates and cleanliness of the hotel were still top notch, the staff’s welcoming and pleasant demeanors are what made the experience. I will be back sooner rather than later to bring the family back during the next few winter months to have the kids enjoy the indoor pool and an opportunity for us to relax and have a great meal. Great experience!
Lovely hotel, with great art collection and super friendly staff. The location is a bit odd- but convenient nonetheless. When you drive in it feels a bit like you’re entering a business park (which is because you are). Yet it’s a 1980s business park... okay, no big deal. Doesn’t take away from the quality of the hotel.I picked this hotel because I wanted a nice place to stay where I wouldn’t have to pay $30 for parking. (It has a no-cost parking lot for guests). The final three positive things I can say about the hotel are: 1) Love the fireplaces on the ground floor (restaurant and Lobby lounge seating area); 2) staff at breaks were fantastic (Rene and Sarah, I’m looking at you!); and 3) Nice little gift shop near the check in area.
This is quite possibly the worst hotel experience of my life. None of the amenities we requested during booking were actually available even though they were explicitly offered. The complimentary breakfast cost $25/person. The shuttle does not keep regular hours so we actually ended up stranded at a popular destination because the shuttle service ended at noon that day. Room service and bell service were likewise sporadically unavailable. Both kids had ear infections the morning after swimming in the pool. We Door Dashed medicine from a local CVS only to discover the hotel has a strict no delivery person policy. And they do not offer itemized receipts for services during the stay. They save that for a surprise at check out. And, most telling, the hotel itself is in some disrepair and it appears that common areas are not cleaned and sanitized as advertised. Over all, a whole lot of hype on the website for a very poor experience.
My husband and I needed to stay somewhere that was somewhat close to DTW for an early flight. The Henry exceeded our expectations! The property is understated on the outside, but really beautiful on the inside. The art work hanging throughout the property was amazing, the public areas of the hotel were very elegant but comfortable, and the room was excellent. We are long time Marriott Platinum members, and were lucky enough to stay in a suite. It was beautifully decorated, but again, very comfortable. We also had a drink and dined in the restaurant (Atria), which we very much enjoyed. Finally, the gentleman at the front desk was really welcoming and helpful. We would highly recommend this hotel!
Fantastic hotel with friendly staff. Marty at the door is the absolute best. He made our stay 5 Stars. The hotel restaurant is great and the bartenders make it fun.Only thing strange to comment on - we received an app notification our room was ready. I approached the front desk upon and was greeted by the front desk worked saying Hi, no rooms are ready. I informed the man that our app said otherwise. He checked and sure enough our room was indeed ready! Seems a bit odd to greet guests with hi, no rooms are ready.
If i could leave zero stars i would.Hotels need to stop using COVID as an excuse to be extremely cheap and not clean or provide amenities anymore.I booked the Henry hotel (as i stay here everytime I visit family in Dearborn) a month in advance. There were zero notifications on the hotel website, no emails and concierge did not call me to notify there will be no housekeeping, no new towels, no room provided coffees in the morning, etc. I was charged full price. The hotel didnt try to rectify and didnt provide a discount.Disgusting and cheap. Does not deserve a 4-star rating.
Where to start.. Easy the staff at this hotel is beyond excellent, even when you can clearly see that they are understaffed, and who isnt in this current pandemic?? This staff just keeps going and going over and beyond. Im not sure who is in charge of making sure these people are taken care of, but they all deserve a raise and are certainly are deserving of it.. Cant say enough... Fantastic. The Hotel it self is beautiful and kept spotless..Congratulations, we certainly will never stay any else when here.
Hotel was clean staff was excellent very nice room. The only negative was the very not comfortable bed. However the staff brought up 4 extra pillows that made it more comfortable. We stayed 2 nights and went to Henry Ford museum & Greenfield village only 5 minutes away. We Would Definitely Stay There Again.
This was our first time staying at the Henry (6/18/21). Very rich feel throughout. There is a beautiful sitting area at the base of a huge fireplace. This makes for a great area to sit and talk while sipping on a cocktail. Our 8th floor room, king bed, was spacious and the bathroom was well lit and elegant. The bed was comfortable, there is a sitting chair and ottoman by the window. We will stay here again given the chance.
Great for one night. Loved all the artwork everywhere. No microwave in room and not enough regular coffee in room. There was a 24 Starbucks machine in lobby. Pool area hot. Great gym. Room takes forever to cool down. Great hotel service. Thats my take away from The Henry.
I absolutely love the ambience of the classy hotel, it was very relaxing. I finally had a chance to enjoy the pool this time and it was lovely. Everything was great the only downside was that the carpet in our room was in desperate need of a carpet cleaning, it was obvious it hadnt been done in awhile. We had brunch on Sunday which was very expensive and on the mediocre side, I will say the omelets were excellent.
The Henry continues to deliver their best in class service no matter what is going on in the external environment. The rooms are improved, the staff is off the charts, the food and overall level of service is second to none. If you have not returned, I encourage you to do so. It is better than ever.
Everything about the hotel is super nice except the rock hard bed. Staff was great, art is really cool, view was awesome, gym was large, gym/pool showers seemed like fancy marble, pool/hot tub were clean, could see the Ambassador Bridge and downtown Detroit from the room, able to link Netflix on the tv, conveniently located near a mall, and UM Dearborn, couldn’t sleep at all on the bed, reminded me of sleeping outdoors on the ground. Maybe ad a bed pad to soften a little. Other than the bed I loved the hotel.
The hotel is older and some of the rooms/bathrooms have been remodeled. Nice lobby with gallery artwork. Air conditioning did not work in one room and we were moved to another. Hot tub was not operating. Staff was very accommodating. Area is convenient to Henry Ford museum but most of the mall next door was closed and there was not much else in the area.
The Henry was accommodating in every way, making sure all needs were met. The bellman, front desk, restaurant staff were all excellent and worth the expense. The hotel alone is beautifully kept and decorated, bringing joy with each unique painting on the wall at every turn. The food was also a pleasure I would definitely recommend trying the signature burger it was excellent.
The hotel in itself was amazingly gorgeous. I enjoyed it completely. The wall art was just breathtaking. The only thing that frustrated me is when I went to check in I was told there would be construction in the rooms at 9am. This was not relayed to me before purchasing or it would of deterred me. Then at a little before 830am I heard loud pounding and machines running. I was on a business trip and had gone to bet really late and planned on sleeping in. This should have been informed to all those booking a room. Other than that everything was nice, the bed was comfortable, the showers were an amazing size.
The hotel was EXTREMELY DUSTY! Im allergic to dust, I was up sneezing the entire morning and night. Beds are not queen. They are more full size. The plugs in the bathroom did not work so I had to do my hair using my phone as a mirror. Half of the plugs didnt work in the room. The carpet needs cleaned. The rooms almost looks run down. It was clean minus the dust and the dirty carpet. Pro: they did allow me to stay late until 1pm. Also most of the staff was very helpful and super nice!
The location is perfect for us and the lobby is very nice with a cozy bar area. The rooms could use a more thorough cleaning between guests. The bed skirt had red stains and garbage was on the floor between the bed and night stand. I am sure it was just overlooked by the cleaning staff as the rest of the room was vacuumed and clean and the bed was comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay at The Henry. The hotel is beautiful and filled with art work. The rooms were clean and comfortable and ours had a view of the the Detroit skyline in the distance. The staff was charming. We also had breakfast there in the morning and the food and service was outstanding.
One of the bellhops, an older white guy, was rude to me on my first night there, and pretty sassy with me every time I saw him. And no one told me about the incendentals being charged to my account $100 extra EVERY night, before I got there. It ruined my entire stay there because that wasn’t mentioned to me before I got there, and I didn’t budget for that much of a difference. I’ll be thinking twice before I stay at another Marriott hotel. I didn’t like that experience at all.
The property was nice and the staff was lovely. However, when we arrived, we found out that there was construction going on in the hotel every day from 8am to 6pm (even on the weekends). It wasnt the entire time but when it was, it was like a dentists drill in your head. Twice we had to leave the property and find something to do it was so intrusive. I felt that they should have disclosed this in advance. Otherwise, the property was nice.
Positive: The art in the common areas was beautiful and uplifting. We were looking forward to exploring the other floors the next morning. Art inside the rooms was horrid and looked like a murder slasher movie. NOT RELAXING and I believe triggered below. Floor2 Negative: We FLED at 3:30 AM. A man was raging outside of our room. Police had to be called. The hotel should have offered to move our room to another floor and extend our check out. Instead we drove 5 hours dangerously low on sleep. Ruined our trip completely.
Beautiful hotel and had planned to stay for 3 nights, however, was never told that some of the rooms would be under construction so there would be a lot of noise going on! That was an understatement! We had to cancel after the first day and find another hotel! We ended up paying quite a bit for one days stay! For that reason, Im not sure wed ever stay there again!! The room shouldve been discounted due to the inconvenience!
When I checked in I had to ask does platinum select mean anything at this hotel. There was no mention of it. I had two rooms, the hotel had no executive lounge they offered me a breakfast coupon for the weekend. However, they would only give me one voucher even though I had two rooms (one for me and my wife, one for my kids). Overall the staff did what they could they were badly understaffed at the front desk, Resturant and housekeeping. I ate everyday at the hotel restaurant and I began to feel bad for them. It wasn’t that it was bad service because they weren’t working hard they were failed by management with not properly staffing and it showed. The location is convenient, the lobby is very unique and free parking is nice.
I was struggling with some personal matters at home when i called into ask about the cancellation policy. they told me that the 24 hours had lapsed and they couldnt do anything, OK - no problem, let me think about it and i will call you back. when i called back the male i spoke with was rude that the card i used to make the reservation did not go thru and they already cancelled my room without notice. then he hung up on me. i was prepared to just pay for the room since i missed the 24 hour mark, i dont necessarily think i deserved to be talked to like that. i will be staying at the Hiltons around the area from now on. it was 5:23pm and 6:19pm on October 20th when i called in.
We were not happy with Henry. Hospitality is not welcoming. Absolutely no water in the room. Or wedding experience was a nightmare. Food serving slot was given only for two hours and we were made aware of it only a week before. It was not mentioned in our contract that way. They charged us excess without giving us any service. I will not recommend this place to my community. It was far better years back and that is why we chose this place. But after our experience my guests felt that Henry is not a place for indian wedding
We have not stayed here before. Covid has impacted the services, which was to be expected. The staff was poor. They didnt go out of the way to do anything. We wanted glasses from the bar to take to our room and were told no! As a Bonvoy member, it was just not worth the money. It is Michigan, not Paris! Would not go back again. There are nicer places in downtown Detroit.
I do not recommend this hotel. First, there is construction going on from 8am to 6pm that is very loud and disruptive. They should let people know this before they book their stay. Second, although I appreciate we are still dealing with Covid issues, they should also let people know that there is no housekeeping available if you are staying for 5 days or less. Finally, the staff is dismissive and unapologetic about these issues. Hotels can put any policies they want in place, but they should at least tell people or put the information on their website so you can make an informed decision.
While I was in town for the weekend we decided on your hotel. Unfortunately I wish we DIDNT..Why?The room in the picture wasnt the room we received. We reserved a room with a sitting area and separate bedroom. We reserved a city view room Unfortunately we got a room starting at the office towers. The restaurant is absolutely horrible the should FIRE Paul on the spot. He is rude from the start. The best thing was the soup. Guest got up and left because there is only 10 things on the menu. Food Quality is very low grade. The whirlpool and pool tiles are discolored at the water line and the whirlpool was room temperature.
Lots of art and collectables around. Newly renovated, beautiful room with big marble shower. The only downside is that the room doors are noisy. I was abruptly woken several times BANG! around midnight thinking there were gunshots, nope, just some late arriving travelers.
Front desk personnel was less than helpful or accommodating at check in and was not ready at the appointed check in time. Check in was 4 PM, later than lost facilities! Breakfast bill was supposed to be split between two cards and appeared to be that until when checking my account later, I discovered being charged for the entire bill!
Room wasn’t ready upon check-in, requiring us to get ready for a black tie wedding in the fitness center locker rooms. Our room wasn’t ready until 10pm. By the time we returned from the wedding we weren’t able to retrieve our bags from our car as the valet was closed. This resulted in us having to spend the night without our overnight bags.
The lobby was the best part. The hotel rooms were nice but I expected more. The shampoos they provide stripped my hair and my roommates. I have curly hair and her hair is straight. We still feel like our hair is recovering because it left it so thin. Other than that, great staff.
The staff went above and beyond from the time we pulled up. Everything we asked for was delivered. From our traveling experience, there is usually at least one staff member that has a negative impact on our stay but not at the Henry. And the Tria was better than expected. We’d return to enjoy the food alone.
Stayed 4 nights for a weekend wedding. We were told at check-in, there will be no room service during our stay. Unfortunately, the room had linen and supplies for just one night stay. We got one room cleaning service for the 4-night stay upon request, and had to call daily for bathroom supplies. I think a hotel like this could do better.
The Henrys art display provides an upscale welcome upon arrival and walking down the main hall. Artwork on each floor and in the rooms makes this hotel standout above other hotels. The friendly staff were helpful, the business center equipment performed perfectly and the fitness room was large and clean. Very comfortable rooms as well. Will definitely stay here again.
I visited The Henry in March 2020, right before things went crazy due to Covid 19. Its a beautiful hotel. I love the art display in the hallway. We have Ambassador status with Marriott so we enjoyed complimentary breakfast every morning. Not sure how much it costs if you have to purchase it. The staff was helpful and friendly. They knew my husband well as he stayed there frequently. They all knew I was coming that weekend and made sure I felt welcome. We miss staying at The Henry and cant wait to resume travelling.
Stayed on the Updated 9th floorThey kept the old doors that stick and keep 0 noise out. They definitely did not update the mattress either. Staff was mediocre at best. The Pool was open but the hot tub closed. They are blaming an expired executive order. Only saving Grace was the restaurant was really good, amazing service, and excellent food. Not a place we will stay again as often travelers to Detroit
This hotel looks nice online, however its not really worth the money. My first impression walking in was great. The front desk staff wasnot friendly and actually kind of rude. The hallway smelled like mold, and the room was small. Not big enough for 4 people to stay like it says in the description. No breakfast and the Tria restaurant was sub par. Very expensive menu, but the food was not even seasoned well. Overall I wont be back here.
Staff was wonderful. Always helpful. But the fact that I couldnt have breakfast was a main reason I chose to not give a 10/10. I usually come here FOR the room service. Other than that it was cool. Tad bit overpriced though considering also the beds arent super big nor are the king size bed standard rooms. If your gonna come here you might as well be coming for a suite or I wouldn’t recommend it.
We absolutely love all the Autograph properties. The excellent care and attention to each property never ceases to amaze me no matter what city we are in. From the concierge to the front desk staff-the service is always impeccable. I look forward to our next Autograph adventure!
The booking at Marriott is usually the easiest part of travel, this time i spent 5 calls and over 2 hours trying to book a room. I can only guess they are short staffed like everywhere else. The Hotel isnt doing regular room service yet due to Covid. hopefully the world goes back to normal and THE HENRY returns as I know it, a fantastic destination.
The facility is being renovated, the areas that are completed are absolutely first-class and very beautiful. The room (king room) was very nice and accommodating, the room amenities were standard, it did not include a full length mirror anywhere in the room and the housekeeping was below average. The MAJOR issue we discovered was that the renovations are ongoing and therefore, beginning each morning 8:30am and running throughout the day until 5pm, annoying LOUND pounding and power tool noise that would cause anyone to vacate the premises during those hours.. When we confronted management about this matter, they apologized for not giving us a heads up on the renovation activities when we were booking our hotel stay or when we checked into the room. This was a Valentines Day weekend getaway for us, we were told the construction activities were going to continue for another six to seven months.. Bring your earplugs..
My favorite hotel in North America, despite its rather uninspired location in the middle of nowhere next to the old-fashioned Fairlane Town Center mall in Dearborn. The hotel convinces with a very warm and individual interior, an unbelievably good breakfast buffet by North American standards, beautiful artwork and, above all, its warm and extremely helpful staff. The Henry, a former Ritz-Carlton, also has a small but very nice spa area with a gym and indoor pool. Very clean and comfortable hotel rooms with excellent beds.
The room was very nice and clean, classy with a few nice touches. Every member of staff was very friendly, smiling, helpful. Josh, the young gent that helped us to our room was friendly and polite. The art everywhere is a nice touch (even if out of my price range!) and the grounds are well groomed and clean to match. Pool was a touch on the cool side, but manageable in minutes, where the hot tub was perfect. Fitness center lacks only a rowing machine, but is otherwise the best Ive seen in ages at a hotel. Food smelled good but didnt enter. Overall fantastic, would stay again. Excellent value.
Hotel is very nice, and staff are very friendly. Feels a bit more relaxed and intimate than most chain hotels. Staff/service are excellent. Restaurant is excellent (Tria) and reasonably priced, bartenders great. Couple of negatives: thermostat in room didn’t quite work as it should (temperature never got close to setting) and one of the elliptical machines was a bit unsteady, the TV on which was stuck on the golf channel and controls weren’t working, and there was no financial news channel among the channels on the machines. The fitness room was reasonably well appointed though, and the apples and granola bars are a nice touch.
I booked this hotel for a weekend getaway with my husband for our anniversary. We were informed of the renovations upon arrival and that there would be construction noise during the day. The room was clean but outdated, didnt look like the photos. The furniture had stains. We were going to stay for two nights but checked out the next morning because the bed was terribly uncomfortable. The mattress and pillows were hard. Both of us tossed and turned and woke up with sore backs. I specifically chose an Autograph collection because I expect finer mattresses and paper products, which were both lacking during this stay. I hope with the remodel the mattresses will be replaced with those expected from this brand of Marriott Bonvoy hotels
I havent had the opportunity to stay at such a nice hotel in a while but i did notice a big difference between your hotel and the other nice ones Ive stayed at - the staff. The staff at the Henry made me feel so welcome and treated me like I belonged in their fancy hotel where with other places the welcome was cold and formal. i ventured out of my room to the hotel bar and had just a great experience. There were two bartenders, Melisa and i forget the other name unfortunately, made me feel at ease right away. The knew I did not know anyone but didnt want to socialize so they made it a point to engage me in conversation even going as far as introducing me to other around. Because of those two women I had a wonderful time and got a chance to meet new people. My room was extravagant! Loved the robes, what a nice touch. I couldnt be more pleased with my stay and have already recommend your hotel to all my shareholders. Thank you again for a great experience. Your staff, from the front doorman to servers and more, really takes each opportunity to positively engage with clients. Client service is top notch! Loved my room - sheets were so soft, mattress was very comfortable and the pillows were amazing. Having robes and a makeup mirror in the bathroom was a pleasant surprise. The conference I was attending was in this beautiful room (2 rooms actually). Such elegance from the chairs to the audio/visual equipment. The buffet was great and everyone was so nice and helpful thought the day.
Everything from the doorman to the bellman to the front desk to everybody else I encountered at this hotel was five star. This hotel operates perfectly in every way. Clean rooms. Great service and friendly staff. I dont mind paying $2 for Starbucks coffee but I would prefer if they had free coffee sat out somewhere. That would be a nice feature to look into in the future that would be very minimal in cost. I cant complain though I had a fantastic stay thank you all for making it possible for me.
Although the location is ideal, there is so little sound barrier between rooms that it was difficult for kids to sleep through the night. We could directly overhear conversations in the hallway and from the adjacent room. The restaurant was nice and has great selection, but overpriced. Service is prompt, friendly, and easily accessed.
The room was dirty. There was hair in the shower, juice stains on the chairs, garbage wasn’t emptied. I use the room for about 2 hours. Called to speak to a manager (that was not very professional), when I told her we were only in the room for 2 hours she argued with me and told me I was there for 4 hours. Just because I checked in on the app prior to arrival doesn’t me I was there at that time. I live in Buffalo NY, I know what time I left and how long it takes to get there. We didn’t arrive to Michigan till around 4 and made a few stops before heading to the hotel. I arrive at the hotel between 5:15 and 5:30, we called the front desk around 7 and were out before 730. May we were there for 2 & 1/2 hours. Either way we were charged for a dirty room. Thanks for the 20% but that’s not sufficient.
Construction started at 8AM and shook the room. Was so loud we had to yell to hear each other. We asked to be moved and was ignored, asked again and was told the whole hotel was under construction. No waters in rooms, treadmill was broken, old smell in hallways, no room service, no restaurant open during breakfast and lunch and nothing close to walk so you can’t get any food in the morning.
Centrally located, very friendly and helpful staff. Beds were comfortable, and everything (especially the linens) felt high end. There was plenty of light in the room along with a large window, and a fair amount of accessible outlets. Room service is 24 hours, which is a nice option, though we did not partake. The best part was all of the gorgeous art throughout the hotel, as well as in the room. I wanted to see everything!
From the flies in the restaurant, to them charging my card from a room already paid for in advance, the manager was rude and not caring, the agent who checked us in only asked for a card for a room deposit. Then he charged the whole room to my card. When I spoke to the so call manager she said he told you he was charging the card, there were two people there when we checked in and both told her he did not, her, yes he did.I stayed at the Henry some years ago, but not ever again, it’s changed a lot.
Beautiful hotel. Artwork is fantastic, and the pool/hot tub appears to be salt base, so it felt great on the skin.Check in was easy, and the service is top notch. Highly recommend. We stayed for a concert in Detroit and it was about a 15 min ride back and forth. Made for an easy concert experience.

Beautiful lobby so the expectations of a beautiful room were high. Sadly, I was disappointed. It was fine though. The bed was a little hard but I did sleep well. Staff are friendly at check in and in the restaurant. Breakfast was delicious. I will say the tub plumbing should be looked at - I dont like standing in a puddle while I shower. Overall Id stay here again.
I recently stayed at The Henry for 10 days for training. The hotel was very unique with the myriad of art that was located throughout the property. I have never seen a hotel with so many fine pieces of art in my business travels. The service from the time I arrived until I left was warm and welcoming. I look forward to future trips back to Dearborn, and stating at The Henry as the staff were wonderful. Even though the hotel was nearly sold out most nights of my stay, the hotel was very quiet and allowed me to be productive when I returned from training. The beds were very comfortable which was good since I was there for 10 days. I also enjoyed the Club Lounge in the morning and in the evenings, especially the Chocolate and Cordials that were provided. Please thank all the staff for making my staff comfortable and memorable!
We had an overall good one-night stay. Great service at the front desk and bar for a drink. We were pleased with how quiet the hotel and room were considering at least 2 big events were there. The room was very clean. The club room was not stocked between services which was sort of surprising as usually there are at least light snacks out. The bed was also not the Marriott bed you know and love. It was quite hard and the fitted sheet fit so poorly it slipped off the corner several times during the night. Our room service breakfast was missing several items which were quickly brought up to the room upon request.
Have stayed at this property on multiple occasions. It has a great location for downtown Detroit and Airport area. Normally outside of COVID restrictions it is near several good restaurants. I would recommend waiting to stay until all of the construction is complete. Between the dust and noise, should have stayed at another property. The construction hours were from 9am-6pm and then the staff would take over for next couple hours with banging doors. The only other improvement I hope they are fixing is the toilets are very dated and about 12 inches off of floor so if you have orthopedic issues would suggest going somewhere else until this is improved.
My husband, our 9 month old son and I had a great stay at the Henry 3 nights in October. We traveled to Dearborn for a friends wedding. From the second we arrived, Marty with the valet team was very welcoming and went out of his way to help us feel comfortable with our little one. The front desk staff were very polite and professional. There was a refreshing drink at the check-in area. Everyone we met with the housekeeping team was absolutely wonderful! We loved the art and felt like we were in a mini art museum - it was so fun to walk around and look at the paintings! This was a hotel stay we wont forget! Highly recommend the Henry.
I have stayed more than 700 nights at Marriott and this was the final qualifying night for Lifetime Platinum so it was a special event. Beginning with the greeting at the front door, front desk, the decorations in the lobby, the fabulous art collection and the Amazing room it exceeded our expectations. The final touch was the dining experience which was the best ever in my Marriott hotel experience. The menu, the service and the food were all superb and it all flowed together like a great performance. This Hotel is beautiful but more importantly the staff are experts at teamwork in every phase of the operation and make it even better when it is followed by a truly amazing dining experience. We will definitely be back.
This is a beautiful hotel with great staff. The decor was lovely and I really enjoyed seeing artwork every day. They provided lots of small conveniences (water in the fridge, coffee in the room, ample parking, etc) without charging you as many hotels of this caliber do. Staff is also very friendly and helpful and makes you feel at home.
Had the pleasure of spending the day at The Henry for a vendor show. Such a gorgeous hotel, I was in love. Loved all of the artwork I can only imagine what the rest of the hotel looks like. Id love to stay a night there when the timing is right for me. The staff was so nice and helpful for lunch and the food was delicious. If one of the employees happens to read this just know I appreciate all your work, I know it can feel like youre unappreciated when it comes to serving food. My only negative review, would be that I wish the food would have been served instead of waiting in a super long line. My company had a huge turnout and I dont think the buffet style was a good idea, maybe it would have gone smoother if it were served. Im not completely sure if thats something that could be blamed on the hotel, maybe that was my companys decision and they thought thatd be the best and least inexpensive route? Not sure just a thought, Im pregnant so standing for a long period of time for me is hard. Other than that everything was great, such a beautiful hotel.
This hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway or just because. The bed was a little too soft, then again, I have fibromyalgia and need an extremely firm bed. My husband and I both had a wonderful time and are planning on returning several times a year. Very clean suite, well stocked bathroom, the robes could be fluffier but the shower was wonderful. The front desk was so helpful, if you forget any toiletries, they will provide complimentary ones, and if they dont have it, the gift shop downstairs had everything you need.
I was very impressed with everyone I encountered, so friendly and professional. The lady at the front desk (I wish I had caught her name, it started with a V), was hands down the nicest and most courteous front desk associate I’ve encountered (pre-Covid I traveled almost weekly for work). The Covid precautions taken made me feel very comfortable (mask, the rooms were very clean, and they provided sanitizing wipes in the room). We were given extra points because the lounge was closed, which was nice. We at dinner at Tria and enjoyed the food and service (the menu was more limited due to Covid but still a good variety). The artwork in the hotel is beautiful and if you don’t mind driving, you can get to a lot of attractions within 20 minutes. I’ll definitely be back!
Stayed here for a few weeks on business. Nice communal areas, art on display etc. The restaurant is quite pleasant with decent sized portions, but a bit on the expensive side. Good gym facilities, clean and with a variety of machines. The room was nice, if a bit on the sparse side. Decent sized and clean though. Keep in mind that, at least in mine, no safe was available and the minibar had only two small bottles of water.
Our excellent experience began from the moment we pulled into the portico. The bell captain ( I wish I could remember his name) and his staff treated us as we were the only guests and best friends. Monique Cole provided a warm welcome and told us all about the hotel. Every hotel employee we encountered greeted us with a friendly smile and a cheery hello. It goes without saying, the hotel itself is spectacular. As expected, the accommodations were clean and well appointed. However, the primary asset of The Henry is the staff.
As a former Detroiter who travels to the area annually to visit family and friends I usually stay with family in Oxford. However, I decided to stay in a hotel this trip that was closer to the downtown area attractions. The Henry was a great choice. It was approximately 15 minutes to both the airport and downtown. The hotel was beautifully decorated, modern, clean and has a wonderful art collection. The staff was outstanding! From the moment I stepped onto the property the staff was welcoming, friendly, courteous, professional and very, very customer service oriented. The rooms were very nicely appointed, clean and well maintained. The restaurant offered numerous and delicious healthy choices with great service as well. The check in/out procedure was easy and convenient. While I did not use the gym it had more equipment than most hotel gyms. The indoor pool and spa were very nice and clean, but crowded on the weekend with families which is to be expected. The Marriott Corporation should be very proud of this property and particularly of its staff who go out of their way to ensure their guests have a enjoyable stay.
I have never stayed at this hotel so I was a little leery prior to our arrival. Once we entered the lobby I knew we were in for a great visit. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Overall we had a fantastic oasis to call home for a couple of days during our cheer competition in Detroit. Thanks
Cutest Hotel known to Ben. 😅 Super friendly staff, love how they maintain and run this place. It feels like they really do care. Never had a dirty room, or broken electrical equipment.+ There is always something new to discover, since the Art they display is up for sale, very interesting and quite unique I think.*If you prefer a quiet place this is the right Hotel for you.Keep it up guys, best regards from Germany see you soon 😍👍
Relished our stay at The Henry. Staff were courteous and helpful, strive to ensure your stay is a memorable one. The swimming pool is very clean, atmosphere is ideal to relax. Art & architecture is uplifting. Hotel rooms, though a bit small; however, modern and clean. Banquet halls are nicely decorated. On site restaurant serves delicious dinner dishes. Towels & miscellaneous amenities, such as shampoos, soaps & water bottles, though seem to be not much costly, can be a big deal when in need of them; and staff make sure that you have plenty of them. Again, staff make you feel you are at a top-notch hotel. All in all, highly recommend it. Try for yourself.
Very nicely appointed hotel. Rooms are average size - plenty of room for a business traveler or couple. Attentive front desk and bell staff. Nice restaurant and bar -- great for an evening when you want to meet at the end of the day but dont want to bother leaving the property. Concierge lounge is convenient, with a nice selection of snacks and beverages.
We were very happy with our stay at the Henry. The size and cleanliness of the room was great. It was hot outside and our air conditioning did not work very well during the day. At night it was fine. The wedding venue was fantastic. It had plenty of space and the food was excellent.
By far is the best hotel in the area, I always stay at The Henry when I am traveling to Dearborn and always is a good experience. All staff is great, specially the ladies at the Guest Room in the 10th floor.Gym and pool are good to relax in the evenings and food at the restaurant is OK.
After several misses on our vacation for hotels, this was a welcome relief! This hotel has wonderfulness written all over it. The front desk staff engaged in a conversation and then I guess we whined a bit, gave us free breakfast! What a treat! Even if you do not get comped, have this breakfast...everything is superb and tasted wonderful and they do some made to order items as well like omelets. Hmmmm my mouth is watering from the memory. Bed super comfy, lovely bathroom with places for everything. We stayed three nights and enjoyed ourselves to the max. You cannot go wrong if you are looking for a break from everyday or want a getaway spot.
I would stay elsewhere unless the rate were better at the Henry. I was highly disappointed in the lack of sauna despite the advertisement for it. Although the decor was better than a courtyard hotel, I felt the only other think that was different that a courtyard was the fact there were bathrobes and a nice hair dryer. For the amount I paid, I expected more. A mirror outside the bathroom, beds that were more comfortable, linens were average and there was only a single outlet on the lamps by the bed (Ive stayed at cheaper hotels that have had more options). The pool area was beautiful and no complaints there.Restaurant was overpriced for quality of food. All staff were excellent. And the security guy stated hed mail out the charger I left in the room... Which I felt went above and beyond. I gave an extra star because of the quality of service. If I found a better rate for this hotel, Id consider coming back, but the cost and the comfort of the beds this trip would make me look elsewhere if price wasnt in alignment with a courtyard.
You literally can hear the people next room talking . I asked for one glass for water they told me in front desk that they cant help me because they dont provide glasses , really? Its too difficult to have some glasses aside for this cases? For the money you pay here I think that it shouldnt be a problem.
This hotel is lovely. We spent the weekend here for our son’s on-site wedding and reception! We had an issue with the air conditioning, which was quickly resolved to our satisfaction. Also, an issue with our door lock was similarly immediately corrected! The food was wonderful, both in the restaurant, as well as the reception and following morning pre-scheduled breakfast (for 21) for out of town friends and family!
This is definitely my new hotel of choice. The pool/jacuzzi area was absolutely beautiful. I felt like I was at a top resort in Miami lol. The fitness equipment was definitely top of the line and I truly enjoyed the complimentary snacks and headphones provided. The room was neat, clean and the bed was so comfy. 24 hour room service which I ordered at 3am was fast and tasted fresh compared to other places who seemed to just reheat good in microwave. FYI the chocolate chip cookie with glass of cold milk is a must have. Internet service was complimentary and provided lighting speed. 24 hour convenience store was very umm convenient. My only negative was the room did not provide a mini bar lol. But overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and woul definitely recommend to all my family and friends. And there is no doubt that I will be back!
Awesome views of downtown Detroit. The night staff was not very friendly almost felt aggressive. The beds were on the hard uncomfortable side and the future was worn and dated. I expected more for a four star hotel by Marriott it was not worth $178 per night. The art however was beautiful but I would rather go to a art gallery and pay 5 to 10 dollars to see it not $178 plus tax and fees.
We stopped in for lunch just before the holiday. It was very quiet (normally it is very busy). The service was very good, as you would expect for this location. The food was fantastic! Served quickly and hot. The side salads were picture perfect and very fresh. This is an upscale establishment part of The Henry hotel. There is plenty of parking and easy access from the Southfield freeway and Hubbard drive.
We came to the Henry for a wedding and were pleasantly surprised. I loved the art throughout the place. The room was very comfortable and the bath was big enough for both of us to fit while getting ready in the morning. Great bath products and a lighted, magnified mirror was present. The banquet room was beautiful and the food servers were prompt and receptive. We had a great time.
This is my second stay at The Henry and it was very pleasant, albeit short. I came here for a conference and was at the hotel for less than 22 hours but have absolutely no complaints. The hotel staff was most helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, the food served at the convention was fresh and delicious (they had amazing tomato soup!). And whats not to love: they even serve Starbucks coffee!
I stayed approximately 11 nights. Unfortunately I did not enjoy my stay. The Positives:1. My room was nice and spacious.2. Most of the Service hotel team were kind and professional. The Negatives:1. Food Service - I had a number of issues with the food quality and service. The breakfast buffet was terrible quality. It looked and tasted like it had been out for several hours. It was gross. If you have Marriott status and access to the club level, eat there since it was much better.I also ordered a Turkey Club for room service and they served it with RAW bacon! I couldnt believe it.2. House Cleaning - Two days out of the eleven I stayed they did not clean my room. And when I complained, the reason was they have house cleaning service 24 hours a day. I mean, I travel a lot and for over 20 years, and cant remember one time I got back to hotel from client meetings in the evening where my room wasnt serviced. Does this mean theyre going to show up at 10:30p and knock on my door to do room cleaning??!! I dont think so.There are not a lot of hotel options in the area, and I wont be back to the Henry because of these issues plus others I incurred. The hotel just felt understaffed, especially in the House Keeping and Food Service area.
We recently stayed at the Henry Hotel for the first time and had a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, warm, personal and professional. The atmosphere is beautiful, clean, unique, artsy and glamorous. It was easily the most comfortable bed I have every slept in and I was amazed by the pool- so clean, quiet, serene and peaceful. We also ate at the TRIA restaurant in the hotel and had a lovely meal. I now only want to stay here when we come to town. Thank you for making our stay everything we wanted.
I have been able to visit and stay the night in several of the Marriott Autograph Collection hotels across the US and this is one of the best I’ve experienced. Even during the height of the coronavirus pandemic and in winter, when I visited The Henry, I was greeted warmly and, despite the restaurant being closed, was able to get room service for a great Whitefish dinner. The room I stayed in was large, clean, warm, and very well appointed. The bed was very comfortable and felt great to sleep on. I wasn’t looking to stay in this hotel for the view, especially in this part of Dearborn. Instead, I expected it to live up to the Autograph Collection name and it definitely did. If you find yourself in Detroit or Dearborn, I highly recommend this hotel.
There are some really some exceptional people working at this hotel, from the front desk, to the servers and manager of the restaurant, the doorman, housekeeping, everyone. The hotel is beautiful and really cozy. It seems isolated but there is really lots around but you can also have a nice weekend away from everything and never leave the hotel. Its well worth the money and the service is very attentive and its pet friendly!!!!
What a great experience. I was here for my wedding night and they made it so special. They had several surprises for my husband and I! My only complaint is they did not mention an extra charge of a connecting room, they made it sound like it was part of the package as long as I had X number of guests, but Im hoping we get this sorted out soon.
The service at the restaurant was friendly and attentive. Room was clean and room service was quick. I accidentally left a cell phone behind and when I called to see if the staff had found it, they knew immediately where it was and had it shipped home to me. Honesty and trustworthiness are traits you want in employees. Well done!
This is an upscale hotel we visited for a day with family. It seems to be popular for weddings, there were two there at the time. The club lounge is not open for food or drinks on weekends, unfortunately. Rooms are good sized, well decorated. Public areas are nicely decorated and clean. The restaurant serves buffet breakfast which was quite good overall. A large shopping centre is nearby.
Nothing Collection level with the rooms. Just ordinary like any other place. The staff were very polite which compensated for the aging place. How does super premium priced rooms not have double Queen beds as options?! The breakfast buffet was just ok and it was not even included. Only limited number of passes for guests.
We were on a pleasure trip with our kids and staying at the Henry actually added to our enjoyment of the trip! The rooms were very nice and spotlessly clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was lovely - it was the weekend so there was a breakfast buffet - not a huge assortment but everything was nicely cooked and they had a lot of items we happened to like - fresh fruit, smoked salmon etc. Service was friendly and very quick. Cant say enough nice things about the hotel and the staff.
We loved our stay at The Henry. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The beds are great to sleep in, especially with a sore back. The lobby is filled with beautiful artworks. The bar near the lobby is well laid out and serves good drinks. Staff is friendly and efficient.
Based on the attire of the doorman, I had expected something really special. The lobby was nice, but not extraordinary. Nice artwork, however. The front desk staff was very nice. The room was a letdown. Standard furnishings, standard amenities. This could have been a really great place. As it is, it is a very nice place. Youll have a comfortable bed, but your surroundings wont be memorable.
What stands out the most at The Henry is the Staff...from the Tria restaurant to the doormen and more, the staff are courteous, smiling and smart. The rooms are large and have plenty of natural sunlight. What is most mesmerizing is the art of course, everywhere, in the rooms, halls, ball rooms and restaurants, the art is not always the same so it is nice to take a good luck on each visit. Thank you to Saeed, Richard, Melissa and Brigitte at the Tria, I really appreciated their humour and quick wit, professionalism and tireless dedication to their work. Kudos!
I stay at the Henry very often and I always look forward to my arrival. I am greeted by the friendliest staff and am treated to true hospitality at every touch point from the moment I arrive to the last second when I stay for my late departure. The valet team treat me like I am a high roller even though I never use the valet service because I want the exercise. The front desk is staffed with a team of professionals who remember everything about me and provide me the best available room to meet all or most of my personal preferences. The staff in the executive lounge are like family and friends who I look forward to hanging out with after a long days work. Lastly, the housekeeping and room service teams make sure that each and every need is met and anticipated whenever possible. The extra towels I receive because I work out every day, the extra pillows I receive for my bad back, and the extra water I receive with my meals because I am always thirsty all make me feel that they actually listen, pay attention, and care...because they do. The Henry staff makes me feel like Im coming home every time I stay. Thanks Team Henry - Joe, Paul, Tyrone, Marty, Nick, Patrick, Alicia, Daniela, Natividad, Marlene, Jennifer, Emily, and so many more. See you again very soon!
Wonderful staff!! They took care of us when our reservation got messed up. Stayed for 2 nights, the rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. We took some wedding pictures at the Henry, which turned out to be amazing. The manager gave us attitude regarding taking the pictures, but nontheless, I had called before booking my rooms and was told that we were allowed to take pictures on the premises.
The hotel was beautiful and unique with great artwork. Our family loved the pool, a beautiful spot. Our room was clean and comfortable. We ate at TRIA, the restaurant, and had a great meal and service. Drinks were very expensive, especially on our quick stop at the bar. A bottle of wine with dinner was a much more reasonable choice for price and quality. We stayed on the Club Lounge level on a Sunday night. Not worth the added cost. There was nothing available in the Club Lounge upon our arrival and a minimal amount of snacks (potato chips and small oreos) later. We were able to get a water from the convenience store in the lobby at no charge, due to the lack of beverages upon our arrival. Beverages were stocked along with the chips and oreos later in the evening. It seems like the Club Lounge is not worth the price on for Saturday and Sunday night stays based on the itinerary in the lounge for each day of the week.
Was here for a convention. Housekeeping staff seemed over worked - our room was not done up completely either day - we just took towels. But room was comfortable and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was very good. I was a bit taken aback at not being able to have a soft drink with my lunch. Maybe the convention contract only allowed for coffee, iced tea, or water. But even in those situations elsewhere, I have always been accommodated. Most places put customers satisfaction first. Not huge deal, but a small detail that would have made a big difference (and it would not have cost them any more than an iced tea!).
This hotel has to be the nicest Marriot I have ever stayed at. Decor is very nice and unique, the staff was extremely friendly. If I had to give a complaint was the wait times in the restaurant was longer than expected, but the food was very good. Also being an “Elite” member seems to hold no weight anymore at Marriott, it was never mentioned at check in at this and many other Marriott hotels, and don’t really see any benefit to the program. I try to use my late check out benefit (for example) and no matter which hotel I stay at when I ask, they say no or give me like an extra hour. Other than those complaints, very nice hotel you will not be disappointed.
My stay was comfortable. Attended a family wedding. Arrangements were really great....especially the decoration of hall where Wedding Reception and Dinner was hosted. What made me write the review is that this hotel has courteous, helpful, caring and trustworthy staff.I twisted my foot and ankle was hurt. Within no time Becky brought Cold Packs and Bandage for me and explained how to take care. Not only that she made it a point to follow up with us to know if I were better.Later I met another staff when the Reception was coming to an end....that was 27 april...almost midnight...I was so thirsty...requested the staff for a glass of water as I could not really move...she went running....brought water for me and thereafter brought an ice pack on her own without my asking. That was so nice of her. She went out of the way when she came to know about my ankle...I do not know her name....god bless her. The same lady pointed out to us that there was cash lying on the table. What more does a hotel need when such gifted humans are working with them.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff very attentive. The internet is really bad on all floors and in all sorts of rooms. I make that statement sadly after many visits. The pillows are really soft and nice but the bedding and blanket comforters scant. While bathrobes are provided it is strange because the bath towels are not large. The bath amenities other than towels are very nice. Furniture is nice and décor with the artwork pleasant.
I attended a 2 day conference for work and was absolutely impressed by this hotel. It is absolutely gorgeous, the food was excellent, and the drinks were great with a selection of local beers to boot. As for the venue for a conference, several huge rooms held all of us comfortably, and the wait staff was awesome. The room itself was gorgeous and comfortable as well. If I ever return to Detroit, I may just only stay here.
The Henry was a Ritz 30 years ago and thats where we had our reception. So, for our 30th anniversary, we decided to see how it has changed. If anything, it has changed for the better. Though the Ritz is very hard to beat, what struck us was the quality of the accommodations and food for the price. We loved everything about The Henry including the prices. We had dinner and breakfast at the TRIA (in-house dining room). Both were excellent and reasonably priced for such quality and luxury. The entire staff (valet, check-in, bellman, waitress) were all professional and courteous and, seemingly, genuinely concerned about our happiness. Highly recommended!
This is a beautiful property and the service is usually very good. My complaint is more on the lines of a membership pricing issue. I recently booked a room to stay in for my companys holiday party in 2 weeks. As I was reviewing the details of my evening, I noticed I booked my stay accidentally on the night before. I called to modify my reservation date as was told that I am unable to do so.I was advised that I would have to cancel and not be entitled to a refund. So, now basically I am being forced to pay double the price for one nights stay. This was a horrible experience - I didnt even want a refund, all I needed to do was modify the date and was willing to pay the difference in rate if there was one. Highly disappointing.
The experience with my family at this hotel was excellent. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The staff at the desk and front door were very friendly and helpful throughout the duration of our stay. I would definitely stay again at this hotel and I highly recommend it!
This hotel never fails to disappoint. Handled our special requests swiftly. First time staying over the Holidays or with children. The decor was lovely and we had the very nice pool to ourselves. We did not dine here this stay, but the food has always been top notch in the past. My only request (wishlist) is to bring back the tea that was offered years ago by the Ritz. (Perhaps modernize it somehow to match the updated space.). It would be a great option for one on one business meetings.
My husband and I chose The Henry (a Marriott hotel) in Dearborn, MI to celebrate our anniversary. It is our second time staying at this hotel. Both experiences were excellent and memorable. The hotel is beautiful and very comfortable. The Tria restaurant is one of our favorites. Service was excellent, thanks to an excellent chef who prepares not only delicious but unique dishes and our server Sylvana who was not only friendly and personable but very attentive. We dined in-room several times and the room service was as excellent as our restaurant service. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Even the front desk service was excellent. Everyone, including the doormen greeters made us feel welcomed and special. My only minor complaint is the artwork in the rooms is too abstract and detracts from the warmth of the room. Great experience at this hotel. Highly recommend.
I have stayed at The Henry for personal visits as well as for work, and there is just something that doesnt sit right with this hotel with me. It never feels welcoming or inviting to me. The opportunity to browse the amazing art on the walls is great, but it just feels cold and sterile. The rooms are lovely , and I was honestly blown away with how nice the bathroom was in our suite. The food from room service was not great for the price and the staff I have encountered is never friendly. This is not my first choice for a hotel.
Wow, what a beautifully designed hotel! The lobby is spectacular and the art work is vibrant and rich with details. The bell service men are charming and helpful. The valets are a great source of knowledge for events and dining. The room was very clean and comfortable. This was my second time stay at the hotel and I will definitely be returning.
Cleanliness was disappointing in room. Maintenance unresponsive after a report of phone and radio not working.Commitment to travelers lacking. Reservations not honored and contract reportedly not honored.General Staff Very Friendly.Food staff accommodating but salads and meat failed - either to rare or overdone. One lunch left most of us expecting the meal after the salad which turned out to be the meal. Deserts were nice. Bar staff generous but some inexperienced.
I stayed at this hotel because our Ballroom dance event was being held there. It was a beautiful facility. My room was cold, but they quickly took care of it. I liked having a bathrobe in my room. The food there is decent & the service is great. Caveat: Mixed drinks were $15!!! I dont pay that in New York City. Bring your own mixers would be my recommendation.
We chose the Henry because of our incredible experiences at other autograph collection hotels and this one unfortunately missed the mark. Upon our arrival, we were offered no help with our baggage and the customer service during check in was adequate but nothing special compared to other autograph hotels who always make us feel extra special and appreciated at check in. We had tickets to a show the evening we checked in so we immediately went to our room to shower. The shower would not drain. When we reported it to the staff we were simply told they’d fix it. We were not apologized to, offered another room, offered a free drink while we waited for them to fix, not offered a late check out or any other simple gesture to show us as customers a “sorry for the inconvenience.” Personally I feel a hotel supposed to be of this high caliber could’ve done much better to accommodate us seeing as how the price you garner leads the customer to expect perfection and nothing less. This hotel didn’t show us a bad time but it did not even come close to comparing to the level of service we’ve received in the last at other autograph collection locations.
The Henry is the flagship property in the Marriott portfolio. As an Ambassador Elite for several years I have experienced all types of Marriott properties. The Henry is unrivaled in what it offers. The hotel is unique in style and décor. The rooms are always immaculate. The food throughout the hotel is off the charts. What makes the Henry what it is however is the staff. They are all professional, warm, courteous and at your service. The customer service culture they have engrained into the DNA of the staff should be studied and copied by all companies. I cannot say enough about the Henry. Go there and experience it and they will raise the bar of what you expect.
I staid at The Henry for a week, check in was effortless and the room was ready, spotless and comfortable. I dined on my own in the Tria restaurant, I was offered a range of seating options, menu and choices were explained with recommendations. The waiter was very helpful and made a lot of effort. I used the gym and pool daily, I appreciated the apples and cereal bars after a workout. Really nice hotel, well located for the nearby offices and Fairlane shopping mall. Will definitely try and book the Henry for my next trip to Dearborn, buts it a popular choice so it’s often full!
This property has it all...beautiful public spaces filled with artwork, a restaurant with beautifully presented dishes that are miles from ordinary, well-appointed rooms built around guest comfort, and a staff with the desire to make your experience top-notch. The Henry is our favorite hotel in the Dearborn area. We always look forward to the visit and they never disappoint.
Worst experience EVER!!!! as a Platinum elite member who spends thousands of dollars into the Marriott for business travel, I was out the room for a business meeting and after requesting late check-out I came back to my room and my things had been packed up by their housekeeping staff and moved out... Several items missing from my luggage when I checked it and they could care less. I have been calling them for a week about my missing shoes and other items. They couldnt check the room because someone had already checked in the room as soon as they kicked me out.... $100 shoes gone and they could careless after the loyalty I have given their company... very disappointed to feel robbed and kicked out of my hotel room. And no one has try to resolve this issue. I could barely get a call back... took 7 days for them to call me just to say oh well ... we cant help you. Very poor compassion and support from them after my shoes was stolen out of my hotel room.
Stayed at the Henry 4th of July weekend and it was an awesome experience. Location quite, but within walking distance of Fairlane mall and various restaurants. The hotel decor...glamourous. Plenty of art work everywhere you look. The staff was helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the fitness center, wipes available to wipe off equipment after use, ear buds in case you left yours, fresh towels, various types of work out equipment and an amazing pool. The rooms were beautiful especially the bathroom, had a spa like feel. Definitely on my return list....almost forgot nicely priced!!!

2022-01-18Don’t let the name fool you. This hotel experience is far from upper class. Marriott should reconsider giving this hotel the distinguished Autograph Collection title. I was excited because I have attended a wedding here in the last. The hotel lobby looks great and freshly renovated. It’s artsy and unique but none of that matters at the end. The room was cheap compared to my usual Holiday Inn Express experiences. The iron in the room was cheap, and was leaking water all over my clothing. The shower had no hot water for 10 minutes! For a moment I thought I was abroad at a cheap AirBNB. Leather on the desk chair was peeling off as well. If you want an overpriced hotel experience that offers less than some motels, The Henry is your spot! Very disappointed overall with the luxury facade.

2022-04-03We were in town only a couple of days. The hotel lobby and common areas are really nice. Take your time and enjoy the art on the walls or if your here in the winter, enjoy the cozy fireplace. The staff (ALL, from the door attendants, to front desk, to the house keepers) are top of the line in hospitality, always readily available to assist in any way possible. The rooms could use some updating with the furniture (it was completely torn and peeling), the peeling wallpaper. The beds and pillows were really comfortable. The wifi wasnt working for most of our stay, but with so many phone plans offering unlimited data, that wasn’t a problem. The hotel is in a quiet part of town, which made for a peaceful nights rest after a long day.

2022-06-21Me and my wife we went to greenfield village and stayed here fathers day weekend. It was beautiful the room was clean and disinfectant. The manager and employees was beautiful also and the restaurant wow their food was excellent.I considered this hotel a 5 stars 5 diamond hotel in dearborn mi,its one of the the best.I worked in the janitorial cleaning business over 40 years and I just thought that hotels stop being unique and clean like this anymore,I guess I was wrong.WE WILL BE BACK!

2022-01-07Had a holiday party in one of the smaller banquet rooms and it was perfect. Beautiful modern decor, the staff was really nice and worked with us to ensure everything was perfect. One star removed because when desert came along, only some guests received theirs while others didnt.

2022-01-16Absolute worst hotel experience. I booked this for my wedding weekend to surprise my new husband with the best hotel Marriott had to offer. The bathroom floors were dirty, the door knob to the closet was hanging off. The chairs leather was cracked and flaking off. There was no full length mirror (what the heck, the cheap holiday inn we stayed at last week had one, this is standard) so getting reading for my wedding was a nightmare trying to see my dress in the bathroom mirror while trying to not get my dress dirty since the floors were left dirty with mud looking streaks. The bed was so uncomfortable he couldn’t sleep and he was exhausted all day on our wedding day because it. The blanket was worse than a motel 6, I got cold in the middle of the night but the only blanket on the bed was this thin blanket that made me wish I had a left over packing blanket in my car because it would have been warmer. Woke up w a sore throat from being so cold (my husband lives it cold which is fine but I need to have a blanket myself which has never been a problem), ended up loosing my voice by 4pm on my wedding day.Just absolutely horrible. Thanks for leaving a horrible shadow on my wedding weekend that can never be undone. I wish we would have just stayed in the cheap holiday inn we were in last week.

2022-06-29As other reviewers have said, don’t be fooled by the name. This hotel’s staff presents as though they are running a cheap motel. I would never recommend that anyone stay here for the lack of customer service alone. My wife and I came in for her delivery at a nearby hospital- the day before she was due. We arrive at the hotel and the staff tells us we will have to wait to check in because their system was down. I asked if it was 5 to 10 minutes of a wait or was it longer- the staff member stated 5 minutes. After waiting 30 min, my wife explained her situation and one of the staff members was attempting to find a room for us manually so my wife could change and go to the hospital. However, this staff member was told not to by another staff member that rolled her eyes and said “ma’am, we don’t do that you’re just going to have to wait.” Then she proceeded to help another man check in on the side manually- just as we asked given our circumstances. We waited another 30 minutes and then told them we had to leave because of my wife’s condition. The rude staff member just said “okay” without any apology.Needless to say, we didn’t stay there and never will in the future. We checked in to the Renaissance in Detroit and received the level of service we expect from our Ambassador Elite status with Marriot. If you want a high end experience, stay anywhere but here. If you want to be treated like a second class customer, stay at the Henry. Hint: there is a reason you will find this hotel at a much cheaper rate on third party sites.

2022-05-13Positive: Art work was beautiful. The bell hops were amazing, went above and beyond helping my 80 y/o mom with her things and getting in and out of car. Bar staff was pleasant under pressure with multiple parties. Nice lounging areas Negative: The entire front desk (check in ) staff was rude and made us feel like we were putting them out. I heard this from several people in my party who checked in at different times. They could take a lesson from the bar staff.

2022-05-15Amazing and beautiful hotel. My husband and I had our wedding here and it was perfect, the gallery for cocktail hour and the ballroom were great! Pam was very helpful.Anytime we’ve gone back to the hotel, we are treated so well. Highly recommend.

2022-02-25It is okay. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. The fire alarm went off at night during our stay at 2 Am. The hot coffee was out. The lounge was closed. The pool smelled bad. The fitness center was lack luster. The iron in our room was leaking. The leather in the room was flaking off. Due to Covid there is no housekeeping. Its more a 2 star hotel than a real 4 star hotel. That being said that staff is friendly and the hotel is pretty . Its close to everything.

2022-03-23Beautiful hotel with cozy atmosphere and excellent responsive service. Check-in was efficient, and requests for toiletries and coffee were promptly addressed. Buffet breakfast at the hotel restaurant was the usual fare with the standout being the waffle and chicken with maple syrup.
