Comment: It’s often a busy and loud and you can find mostly what you need. Like to check online to see where everything is on the app before arriving because I would rather be in and out. Tried ordering ahead and that was less than desirable at times. Stock was reported as out but it wasn’t. Curbside pick up is way too long so I’ll get the stuff myself. Convenient due to the location and if you look what you need. Too bad they only carry their own brand of air filters.No Apple Pay or even PayPal despite the sticker on the window. You’ll need to bring an actual credit card. Learned that from the hard way.

If you’re doing same day delivery, they likely won’t ring your doorbell and will call you instead.This way you’ll know to pick up if you get a call from this number if you are expecting same day delivery.Delivery was good otherwise. I am keeping it one star so the store manager can notice and review this procedure with the delivery service they use or at least notify in instructions on the company website.

After walking in, saw a group of workers chatting away so I waited until one of them would look over so I could ask a question but none of them three did until I raised my hand a minute+ in. I also stopped by the paint department and no help neither. Lastly, went to lighting, saw another two workers chatting and when asking them if there’re more 4w batteries they were rudely stone faced and said basically if its not there then its out of stock wth so I ask further could you please check if theres more in the inventory stored above and two long seconds after he said we dont. The workers here are the most inconsiderate, incompetent, lazy and selfish assembled group ever.

Comment: I came in today at 2pm November 5th of 2023 to return a bin I bought that was to small and was helped if I can even say that by a woman named Cynthia who had gray curly hair who’s attitude was atrocious and on top of that she made rude comments I had approached the counter requesting to exchange the bin for the bigger one with in store credit instead she decided to the attempt to correct me and proceed to make me refund the item after saying “you mean return there is a price difference you know” which was beyond rude especially to be working at the customer service counter so now I’m having to wait an additional 48 hours to get my money back for the original purchases refund aswell as paying the extra $40 for the new bin my overall experience today was terrible and my interaction as well with her was overall awful and completely unacceptable for her to have an attitude towards a customer

I have been always happy with the services but today 5/11/23 around 3 pm I was in San Ramon location with my 78 year old father that he is suffering from cancer.We were in the doors section and we find the door we need in the top shelfs that need to be move down with a Home Depot worker. After waiting to see if someone is available for long time I went to the cashier and asked her to call someone to come to the Island 28 to help us and she did. I came back to the Island 28 and Gabby the lady that was sitting close there and was speaking with other customers told me with a very rude tone (you have to be patient) I didn’saanything and I thought maybe she had a bad day, when she finished with her costumer she came to us and we showed her what do we need. She said again with a very rude tone to my father go and close the gate she is going to use the elevator to bring the door for us. And she did. My father asked her for more items we needed and she disappeared . We were waiting 30 minutes until she came back and my father told her he had cancer and why you left us with out letting us know. She gets very angry and said she was in the restroom. She said she doesn’t want to speak with us and doesn’t want to help us at all. My father asked her what is your name? She used a bad word to my father. I get angry and screamed of her (be polite) she used bad language and just left us. So We went to other Home Depot location in Pleasant town and we did our purchases over there. I hope a manager of Home Depot read my message and if they have cameras just checks what happened in San Ramon location. Home Depot always had very good customer service. She ruins Home Depots reputation.

I had quite a complex project and did not have much of an idea about how to execute it, when i went into the store. I showed him some pictures on what i might need He literally not only hand held me through all the steps on how to execute it, but helped me in suggesting the materials and tools to buy and was extremely patient, respectful and diligent in answering every one of my question in great detail. I cant thank him enough. I subsequently learnt He is the go to person for many things at this store and i am not surprised, why ! You will be charged a 15% restocking fee per contract and almost impossible to get the flooring returned. Still waiting for Home Depot to honor their free and easy return as half the flooring still sits in my garage. Would have been nice if the flooring installation assessment was done prior to delivery. It took the team about 15min to tell me all the reasons why it wouldn’t work.

Comment: Came in around 7pm for a garage door motor after checking stock levels online. This store had more inventory then any location within a 20 mile radius. Found this lovely note stating to ask staff in the nearby millworks area for assistance....apparently that department closes early and nobody was available. Found someone else to assist, checking the handheld scanner, walking around aimlessly, then asking do you need this today?..... then the manager got involved, she seemed more puzzled by the situation then the origional guy I asked for help. After they conversed privately, she said that their inventory was off and they were missing the 3 units that were showing up online and then suggested I go to another location. Professionalism was not her strong suit.At the end of this - I feel like nobody (including the manager) knows where the inventory was stashed and couldnt help me, so suggesting to try another store was their way of covering up the issue. Super disappointed by this situation and baffled how employees can just put notes up and stash product places where nobody can locate them (inventory scanner was not bringing up their actual location). If they are getting stolen, then lock them up like all the tools.

The person (ironically in customer service dept, I wish I would have noted his name) worked with me to return it, was very rude(forget of not greeting or anything.) he was outright rude! I headed to the store location, after customer service counter advised me that they didn’t see it. They informed me to go to flooring and inquire.Lisa from flooring and window treatments, was probably the most amazing and out going Home Depot employee I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She literally would not and didn’t give up until my order was tracked down and in the end she found the item In the back warehouse part of the store.thank you Lisa!! You rock!!!

Unfortunately, the place has gone downhill over the years. So many items out of place or difficult to find. And the lumber section is a wreck (many items marked incorrectly/place in the wrong stall). Quality people to help and/or answer questions are hit or miss. when I buy any large quantities of wood, I make the 20 min trip to Dublin Lowes where the organization (and signage) is outstanding.

Comment: Rarely do I write reviews but the phone call I just had with the appliance dept at Home Depot, San Ramon has left me in shock. I purchased a new wall oven online a few weeks back as my old one died, and it was delivered on time. Although I had paid extra to have the old one hauled away, the delivery crew said they can’t uninstall wall ovens. Apparently this was something in the fine print that I over looked when purchasing a wall oven but I’m perplexed that they offered this additional service online and charged me for it. Regardless, I was advised by Home Depot online customer service, who were very pleasant, that I’d be refunded the extra charge and to call my local Home Depot who can assist me with possible options/contacts to have the new one installed. I immediately called San Ramon and tried to explain the situation to the rudest sales associate on the other end. Firstly she yelled “why did you buy a new wall oven and have it delivered during COVID!” then, “there’s no returns on wall ovens!” then, “I should’ve purchased from Amazon!” then, she hung up on me! Seriously! I was absolutely gob-smacked to say the least. Not once did I ever suggest returning it, just simply wanted any possible contacts they may have to handle this service.I understand everyone is suffering now....it’s been a tough year for all but seriously Home Depot, San Ramon, this employee needs a lesson in customer service & politeness. I hope the managers can retrieve the recorded call and hear her first hand. Will they care....who knows?All I know is that I’ll NEVER buy another appliance from them again!

Comment: The two staff members I encountered here were both rude, the items I came here for were out of stock, and they have apparently implemented a line system where there is one very long line to get to one of only a few open registers. They now want to have one long line for self-checkout and staffed registers. Not sure how this helps and we’re painfully slow. 1) They need some sort of signage to reduce confusion and 2) they clearly need more staff working the registers to handle demands.

Comment: This review is about the curbside pickup experience for online orders. Pretty painless experience! There are very clearly designated parking spots for pickup. After arriving, I used the link in the order ready notification email (or you can use the home depot app also) to let the store staff know that Im there, with parking spot#, make, model, color of vehicle, opened my trunk and within a few minutes, they came and put the stuff in. Very helpful. Didnt need to get out of car.

Appliances section was the exception to that...other than that, youre in and out fairly quickly. 👍Update from Oct 2020The paint match system apparently is only (quoted from some goobhead whose name starts with P) 95% accurate “you’ll never get an exact match, I don’t know what you were expecting “People like this shouldn’t work in customer facing roles because of their inability to understand customer service and what that entails. I brought in a piece of my wall (a cutout from a low voltage box I had put in) and brought it in for a match. They matched it and tested it on the can and off I went. Shame on me: I should have tested it in a small inconspicuous spot on my wall, but foolishly trusting the color match system, I went to town on my walls everywhere, ‘touching up’ blemishes everywhere. Needless to say, it was not a match. That’s when I took it back and got an earful from grumpy dude whose name starts with P. The lesson here? Don’t do color match and if you do, test in a small, out of sight spot to match. Don’t expect too much.

This time I was looking for dewalt batteries, they had a four pack on sale and the only store that had them near me (22 minutes away) had three sets according to their website.. So I drove I got there and did not see any so I asked a tool coral associate and she said I have a few people in front of you. I said I would be standing in front of the dewalt bins, while I was standing there another associate came up and I asked him. He complained about his phone not having reception to check item and said he would be back. Apparently he went to get a ladder but little did he know there was one not being used in the next isle over. About 10-15 minutes later the original associate came back and her phone also didnt work so I showed her the Sku number. She started looking and I said I already looked here and after a few minutes the second guy showed up with a ladder.. A few minutes later they both say sorry the website is wrong we are out of stock. This same thing happened to me last week with different items at a different distant home depot that claimed they had 15 in stock... I wish I could have a pain free trip to Home Depot where I dont scream out how much I hate going there. The big box stores have lost all my respect and taken too much of my time..

I drove there, and it was easy to find the location to pick up, and someone noticed me park in the curbside pickup, and got my info to bring the order out. Nice.The items that were brought out were wrong (wrong lumber, not enough items). Turns out they were out of stock of the right lumber.So if you do curbside pickup, check your email notification because the items listed may have changed (mine did). And even what is listed as ready may not be in stock when you arrive. Their ordering and notification system are just not reliable at this time.Unfortunately, it didnt end there. I was still charged for the partial order, even though I didnt accept them because the lumber was wrong and I couldnt continue the project with the partial order.So to get my money back, I went to Home Depots website, logged in, got their customer service number, and called. After collected my info, they said they couldnt help me and I needed to call the local store the next day.Called the local store, and they refunded the money, which I appreciate, which is why I put a star back. However, spending about 4 hours of my time, just to get back to a zero balance and no further on my project is a poor experience.

I asked for simple cuts (each board into four equal pieces) and the associate who helped me cut everything wrong because they thought there were ten inches in a foot. Good lord. Thankfully they re-cut everything at no cost but I had to spend another twenty minutes picking out boards, and another thirty minutes waiting for the saw and for them to re-measure. Then they didn’t account for the sawblade when making the cuts so all the boards were slightly smaller than we needed! Eg if you need a six inch board, you need to cut beyond the six inch mark and measure as you go. Anyway, they should require basic carpentry training for associates prior to using the saw. Beyond that, god help you if you can’t use self-check here - the lines to check out are always painfully slow and you have to dodge their credit card sales pitch every time.

Comment: Theyre not very one-stop-shopping oriented when it comes to their trade products. you have to go to a separate department to do countertops then go to a department to do backsplashes. They should make it easier on the customer and consolidate so that you only have to go to one place to get information and work orders done for both. currently you have to go to one complete your order then go to the other and complete another order. This is not very customer-friendly

Sunshine in the paint department has a horrible attitude and neglected to help us with mixing several paints for our painting project at home. She refused to help me! She told me she can only mix two paint gallons... there’s a limit???

Comment: I am bias. I dont like Home Depot or Lo***, because it never fails that things are stocked in the wrong location or the quantities are extremely off. However, this location is definitely one of the better ones. Clean and helpful.

Comment: Home Depot seems to have a huge turnaround as far as customer service and it is wonderful. Ask them and they will supply you with names of people who can come out to your house and do some work... I needed an electrician and they provided me with two names and one of them sent me a message when he could come over on the same day.

For quick trips and if you know exactly what you want this might be an option, but if customer service is important to you, do not shop here. Comment: Home depots success comes from their low prices, which they used to bankrupt other small businesses. They have a huge selection, but the many employees will have a hard time finding what you need. We spoke to some very inexperienced employees and, the one who cut lumber for us did a poor job.

Comment: Theyre barely ok...Door and window department is not good at followup. Ill buy my door at Lowes. And whats with letting everyone bring their dogs into the store. Look...some people are allergic, dogs sometimes bite, or fight with each other. Also some people just dont like em. Big liability for HD to allow this. If I get bitten, there will be hell to pay!!!
