We have had many problems with my husbands bike over the years, and we have had a few different people work on it. FINALLY!! Someone fixed it! Best bike repair around! My husband said it has never rode as good as it is now, it feels like a brand new bike. And for all the work that was done on it, the price was incredibly reasonable. I hope he stays there for a long time because we will never take our bikes anywhere else. AND - he was working on a holiday and got our bike back to us in just a couple days.

Shop proprieter (Ivan) is helpful over-and-above the norm. Provides info/tips to keep my bike going. Reasonable, knowledgable. I can highly recommend the shop.

Picked up my bike today. I’m more than pleased.I honestly don’t think you’ll find a better bike shop in the metro Detroit area. He’s very knowledgeable. He repaired my bike ahead of the scheduled date and his pricing is beyond reasonable. He seems to be an honest guy who won’t overcharge or advise you to make repairs that aren’t needed. Because of this, his business will continue to grow and surpass some of his competitors. It’s evident that he takes pride in his work. Thanks Ivan!!

The first time I stopped in to get my seat fixed Ivan fixed it for free and I said I would be back for a tune-up. That time came sooner than I expected but it was needed. 200 miles in 2 months adds up (not to mention the year in storage!)I picked the bike up today, he got the tune-up done fast, the bike rides like brand new and it didnt cost an arm or a leg. Totally reasonable, professional and really outstanding customer service. Any bike needs I have in the future will lead me back to The Illiterate Cyclist.

I was given a fixer upper bike from my boss after we removed it from a pole outside of the store. Ivan looked at the bike, and within a few days it runs like a dream. Best service and pricing I could have ever asked for!

First time I used Ivan for repairing my MTB, because I was told by a bigger cycling shop which I used a couple of times in the past we only service bikes bought from our shop, this is our policy as of June 1st. But we can recommend The Illiterate Cyclist in Ford Rd. I thought that was a joke. But I called and Ivan answered. He said bring the bike in. I was having problems with my brake on the rear. So he says Ill call you on Thursday (2 days later) to tell you the assessment of the damage and how were going to repair it. This problem already occurred to my brake 2x in the past year. Ivan called on Thursday morning at 10:30 said come pick it up, its fixed. I said whats wrong with it, he said just needed bleeding and sealing. For $25, but he recommended to eventually replace it as it would eventually fail. Its a M-gur@ so its expected to do that eventually. Now thats my guy. Ill never gonna use dealerships to repair my bikes again. Thanks Ivan.

I went in with a problem and some questions and Ivan hooked me up big time. He was courteous and friendly. He had some great advice, the part I needed, and showed me how to apply it. Im glad he is withing biking distance!!

Nestled in the corner of a small strip mall in Garden City, the shop is small and quaint and best of all, honest. Ivan was extremely helpful with very reasonable rates. Never tried to up sell me once and answered all of my annoying questions, sometimes more then once. As a beginner rider, it was nice to not be taken advantage of.I brought him my hand-me-down mountain bike and he did a full tune up, changed a break and a brand new helmet for under $100. He finished the bike in a day and, probably the coolest part, I brought up a hand me down bike rake that I couldn’t figure out how to attach to my car for the life of me. He hooked in up in under 5 minutes with no extra charge.I highly recommend The Illiterate Cyclist for all you biking needs. I know I will use him exclusively from this point forward. Once bikes start making there way to the store front, I will buy my new bike from him too.100 out of 10 stars.

Ivan runs a wonderful bike shop! I drive way out of my way and by numerous other bike shops to do my shopping and have service completed at the Illiterate Cyclist. He is amazingly knowledgeable and courteous. His ability to find parts (when they cannot be found anywhere) is very impressive. I recommend the Illiterate Cyclist to everyone!!!

Ivan took awesome care of me. I explained what I wanted to upgrade on my bike and instead of telling me it’d be painfully expensive and hard to do he hooked me up and even had everything I needed in stock! I was out riding hours! I can’t thank this dude enough!
