I had such a pleasant stay at the Doubletree. The staff was very friendly, from the front desk clerk to the maid who cleaned my room. I was always greeted with a smile and asked if there were anything that I needed. The room was clean and very quiet. The bar was nice and I enjoyed the food at Zalmans, the small diner located inside the hotel. Highly recommend!
This hotel has been remodeled. Nice rooms. The lobby has a cool lounge area with a piano. The bar has a great selection of liquor. Not so much for beer. Though the bartenders are super nice. The bar gets a good business crowd each night which is always good for networking or just meeting new folks.I dont recommend the attached seafood place. Its super overpriced and all I heard was complaints about the food and my food wasnt that great but I didnt say anything.
Positive: Bed was comfortable and the kids enjoyed the pool. Hallways were clean. Negative: I could tell things in the room were not wiped clean. A lot of dust buildup on the ceiling vents, finger smear marks on random things in room. Also a gross bug stuck between our sheer curtains. Bathroom floor could have been wiped better.
My daughters wedding ceremony and reception was fantastic! All of the front desk staff knew why I was there and made me feel welcomed. The service and food at dinner was great. The only negative I can recall is we had to shut down the party at 11pm. I was ok with that but the younger crowd wanted to continue !!
We stayed in this hotel for two weeks and absolutely loved our stay. Everyone from front desk to cleaning crew were nice, polite and accommodative. The beds were really comfortable and towels were clean and not worn out.The restaurant downstairs has very desant food even though it was only open for breakfastGym was clean with towels and bottled water.WiFi was strong and working from the hotel wasnt a problem.Indoor pool was clean, jacuzzi has rotating jets for nice lower back massage.Common areas are bright, inviting and great to relax in.Business center has apple computers and printer.Just very positive stay and if I ever come back I would stay here again.
We book the room for two nights. I am shocked to see the room. Very poor condition of carpet and bad smell. Room size is small , very low celling, small bed. Next day no one come to clean the room, and fill up coffee pouch, cups etc. I contact front desk and request for cleaning. You guess what answer i got we dont clean for two days stay. This is new rules we have since pandemic. I am very disappointed is this Hilton product?
We were in town to spend the weekend with family and friends. The DoubleTree Bloomfield Hills Michigan Hotel was fantastic and we highly recommend it!! Gorgeous hotel, modern, gorgeous art!!!!!!!!!!! Very friendly staff and a gorgeous bar.....and fabulous restaurant right next door thats top of the line! ♥️
This hotel was very nicely decorated. The room was spacious but the bathroom was small. We paid for a room with a fridge and microwave but they provided us with an extremely small fridge and no microwave. The hotel was not welcoming. The walls were thin! No toothbrush. No soap. Overall bad experience.
This stay was wonderful, and exceeded expectations in all areas. The team, led by Tom Lamb was exceptional from the top down. When we showed up from the airport there was live jazz I the lobby, with appetizers out for us to enjoy. The music was awesome, very artistic, and it had a local feel to it as the by Robert Dempster who is a local favorite. The band played for a while in the lobby and then moved into the restaurant next door to finish it up. They played all night and were very fun. It really changed theenergy of the hotel into an artistic and vibrant environment. There are two restaurants in the hotel, one breakfast and lunch spot, and one fine dining fish and steak house. It was nice to have the choice, and both were very good. The crew at the restaurant took great care of us as well, the food is good and coupled with great service its a wonderful place to have breakfast or lunch, with gourmet coffee and fresh baked goods. It was so good we went In every day.The room was also very comfortable, i slept well in the bed and the crew did a great job keeping everything clean and neat. There were zero negatives to this week long stay. Great team, great service, great room, great experience. Highly recommend the hotel and the restaurants. Also worth mentioning, Joe Muers is top notch and one of the best places in the city to get fine dining. We had a blast with our server and the lobster was off the charts.Id rate it 12 out of 10 if I could, and my wife and I have VERY high expectations.Check this place out. Its well worth the value.value.-Johnny Noonan
Tammy made my stay much more enjoyable. From the moment I walked through the door, she was inviting and made sure I was all set for my stay. She even introduced me to the doubletree cookies which were so pleasant after a long day of traveling! Tammy is an asset to your company and I hope she is recognized as so!
Positive: The room we eventually received was comfortable and spacious. Staff was quickly responsive to requests. Negative: First room given had broken phone, broken thermostat. Had to change rooms. Parking is far away and convoluted path to find behind building. No one ever offered their supposedly famous chocolate chip cookies
My husband & I spent Valentines Day weekend here. I usually bring my own cleaning supplies to sanitize our hotel rooms, especially during the pandemic, but this was a surprise, so I only had a few items with me. I was pleasantly surprised that everything seemed to be clean! We had a great time. The staff was friendly & accommodating. We will return.
Not my favorite hotel experience. The room we were given was clean at first glance, but horrible the more you stayed in it. From stained towels , to poor mirror shining. Couch stains and the accumulation of dirt and grime in the corners of rooms. The bed wasnt very comfortable and our room stayed well above the temp we desired the entire night. My key card stopped working for the stairwell door closest to my room (but no where else)and the digital key only works for your room door not other rooms. Had to walk around the entire building to get in. Very disappointed compared to what I expect from the Hilton brand
Very convenient to Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills. Food at Zalmans Deli is good and reasonably priced although not an overwhelming selection and hours are from 6:30 a.m to 4:00 p.m. Hotel is attached to Joe Muers restaurant. Business casual and reservations are usually a must. Dinner for two last night was 266.00 with tip and 2 drinks, appetizers , and main courses. One of the best seafood restaurants in the Midwest. Almost 5 stars for the hotel but I discounted because weight room is rather small and under equipped, heating and cooling for the room was a little tough to figure out, and the hotel restaurant is not open for dinner. Tammy at the front desk, Marisol in housekeeping and the manager at Zalmans (name? hes from Ireland) all great team members!
We stayed in the king bed with the balcony, the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Only thing I would say I didn’t care for was the parking, valet wasn’t available due to COVID so we had to walk through the back and then down to the room I also didn’t like that I couldn’t use the digital key if you booked through a 3rd party. Other than that it was a great stay
Positive: The room was clean. Great location. Negative: Security was an issue. The back doors and doors to the pool never required a room key for entry. The hallway outside our room smelled like marijuana constantly. The staff were lax in their mask wearing and the service in the bar was atrocious so we left.
Terrible room (barely a window with very little light) and noisy! The hotel flooded and no power that weekend so it made it nearly impossible to get ready for a wedding we were attending with no light to see. The hotel was not accommodating at all and had no back up plans...we should not have been charged for this less than satisfactory stay. Disappointing!
I attended a friends wedding at this hotel on June 25th, 2021. There was a terrible pipe leak that destroyed the whole wedding. There were hundreds of guests and they had to do the wedding in a stairwell. This hotel has no protective measures against disasters. They only have 1 sum pump, when a hotel of that size should have at least 4. When the walls started leaking, all of the employees were moving like snails. I had a broken leg, and they literally moved slower than me. I had the urge to pick up a mop and help myself. While the wedding was being conducted in the hallway and stair well, all the guests were standing uncomfortably. The hotel thought it was a great idea to PUMP the water out into the parking lot where ALL the guests parked their cars. We were stranded in the hotel. When some guests gave up, they walked through the parking lot knee deep in water to get to their cars. Some cars lower to the floor had water leaked into their cars. It was a complete disaster. Who instructed them to pump the water out on hundreds of cars? The next day, the electricity went out in the building. All the guests who stayed at this hotel had to get ready at the venue (different location) because this hotel did not even have a GENERATOR. They did absolutely nothing to recover for the damages for 2 days straight. I feel so bad for everyone involved. This doubletree literally offered the bride and groom the honeymoon suite voucher as their protective measure. What a fricken joke. Give them their money back. I guarantee you lost thousands of customers and gigs over this. Make it fair and you can earn our business back. Trust me, we got a big community.
My daughter booked a room for her birthday this past week. When she called to book the room she asked if the pool and everything would be open during her stay. The person at the front desk said yes it would be opening on February 1st. The day of her stay we got there and she checked in and we went to check out the pool and there was a sign on the door saying it was closed. We asked the front desk why it was closed and they said that management decided to keep it closed. So, my daughter paid $400 for 2 nights to sit in a room with nothing to do for her birthday. I then went in line to see how much a room would be for a night and it said it would be $110 for the night. I asked the man at the front desk if we could get a refund and he said no. We will never stay here again after the experiences we had with this hotel. Also, my daughters are white and their boyfriends are mixed and you wouldn’t believe the looks they were given. Horrible establishment to say the least. Don’t waste your money.
From the minute I walked in, I knew this place was special. It is truly a sensory delight. The common spaces and rooms are lovely, modern, smell incredible and are cozy. The guest rooms are well designed and comfortable. (I slept better than I have in months). I ordered room service and they were more than accommodating when I requested a healthy alternative. The best part of my experience is the incredible staff. Every single person I encountered at this hotel treated me like I was royalty and I felt like I was on vacation instead of business. I even extended my stay by another night!! There service is so good, it’s almost like they want me to return-and I will- maybe next time it will be for a vacation. 🥰
This by far is the BEST Double Tree I have ever visited in my area. The hotel is maintained very well. During this pandemic, we all have our concerns regarding hotel stays. They go over and beyond here. Rooms we cleaned and sanitized. All staff wore masks. Social distancing was upheld. I felt so welcome and safe. The hotel itself is beautiful! It made our new years staycation celebration wonderful. I have already booked my room for my 10th wedding anniversary next month.
I’m all around extremely frustrated at our stay at this hotel. The main reason we book this hotel was because their hot tub + pool was open, well, there’s a 7-10 people Max due to Covid which is fine, but there was a massive family who stayed and took over the hotel + pool most of the week we were there, and their kids were extremely loud, splashing guests + due to the restrictions we basically never got to go in OR relax. They over took it for hours upon hours a day + extremely late at night even after it closed which the staff allowed this to happen. So here I am on my LAST night hoping to relax in the hot tub, (it was closed for maintenance on Sunday), well on Monday I call and it’s closed again because people put soap in the hot tub and messed it up and now it’s drained out and not open. So to say I’m livid is an understatement. Our outlets next to the bed didn’t work. It was hard to get towels. It was just frustrating and not worth the money at all. They need to figure out the hot tub situation and make it fair for everyone to get a chance, so now I won’t have the opportunity to use it because someone ruined it with bubbles. Just awful. Waste of money staying here. I wish I could get a partial refund considering the hot tub is a HUGE reason I chose this hotel to begin with. Smh.-Hayley A
I stayed there for 11 days. The front desk were very nice and pleasant, but I had a question for the manager. When I talked to her, she said send me an email, I sent her two emails and I left her voice messages on her machine and no response. I called corporate and waited for so long and finally after someone responded, she kept telling me you have to speak to manager of the hotel!!!
I got my girlfriend a room for her and I to spend the weekend in and it was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. She enjoyed it which was the objective. Corona didn’t allow us to utilize things such as the bar but that was fine I suppose. Overall , good experience
When I am in town for business, this is my favorite place to stay. Getting a warm cookie when you arrive is amazing. Lobbys is beautiful with a little lounge area. A bar in the lobby and 2 restaurants. Front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are nice and bed is comfortable. Nice TV to be honest which was not expected. Need more Vegan options. I also would also recommend the hotel removing room service items that they no longer offer.
Simply wonderful! We stayed here for our anniversary and it was perfect from start to finish. The front office staff were courteous and assisted us with a reservation for dinner. (Ask for Lindsey) Steve shuttled us to and from the restaurant (Camerons Steakhouse was perfection). The rooms are nice, spacious and clean. The bar and lounge areas are nicely decorated with plenty of seating.I will definitely return soon!
Beautiful place but things were always just off the mark. Bar had a happy hour advertised but never saw a bartender. Fruit water in the lobby, but all the glasses were stuck together. Work out room’s light would just turn off for no reason I could discover. Plus the room had no water in the room. The bed was great, the room was clean, and the staff super helpful and professional. But the light was burned out in the bathroom. There was what looked like grout stains on the bathroom floor. The tile in the shower was cracked when the door was installed. And if you were not paying the $20 for valet parking, you were way far away from the lobby. Quite the trek if you are checking out.For the discounted price I was paying to stay there, I just didn’t feel I was getting the value for my money.
Overrated, but the place is really clean. One thing I didnt like is I found my self getting charged for water as a diamond member. Sometimes they didnt even have water in the cooler at the front desk. This place is also attached to a nice expensive restaurant so one could only assume you have to be rich to stay here lol. I cant speak for all the staff but some were nice to me.
Ive never attended a wedding ceremony like my handsome cousins and his beautiful wife. The devil continued to produce obstacles and GOD laughed and said thats all you got!!!!🤣GOD prevailed over a flooded venue, planned outdoor ceremony, to a indoor ceremony then back.to a outdoor ceremony. All due to a fallen tree that cut the power 3 hours b4 officiating the union. Shout out to the Bride and groom for their positive God-fearing faith. The groom stated I would marry this woman in a dark corner in the hallway Also shout out and thank you to the staff at the DOUBLETREE WEST BLOOMFIELD location that went above and beyond to accommodate
Great hotel. Nicely remodeled public spaces and rooms. Upscale Decor inside from wall paper to the pictures and the furniture. Fresh baked cookies upon checkin. Comfortable beds and a clean bathroom. Hotel has a upscale deli for breakfast and lunch and a popular seafood restaurant. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed this hotel for the beautiful remodel, cleanliness, location, and especially the high quality customer service. We visited The Duke and it is a gorgeous little space - drinks were delicious with professional and friendly staff. The eggs and bacon at the breakfast buffet at Zalmans were dry, but the staff and the rest of the food were all wonderful. Room service was prompt and polite, and there was a great eye for detail. We loved that the pool is salt water instead of chlorine. The decor is simple and elegant, mostly neutral but with pops of jewel tones, and (other than the huge photos of models in the lobby) the art throughout the hotel is gorgeous. The few downsides:-There were tack strips around the edge of the carpet in our room - to be expected - but the carpet is a low enough pile that our daughter yelped from having her foot land on the sharp point of a tack as she walked across the threshold from the main room to the bathroom. When we investigated we could feel every tack sticking up along that strip, invisible, but right under the surface of the carpet, so anyone stepping there without shoes on would be hurt.-The pool area would have been lovely, but it appeared we visited right after a childrens birthday party - there was something we guessed to be broken Hatchimals shell all over the floor, including on the bottom of the hot tub and pool. There was also a childs pair of underwear next to the wall. Funny, but not ideal.-The a/c unit in our room didnt work properly until we removed the filter/cover. It appeared to be too clogged to allow the necessary airflow.-Our room had a mini fridge, but no microwave. That was disappointing since we could store food but not heat it up. I noticed after our stay that microwaves only come with higher end rooms (my fault for not noticing the difference upon booking, but we were surprised that no microwave was even an option at such a nice hotel).Im sure the condition of the pool was a fluke, and if we return we will try asking for a microwave and know to watch out for the tack strips. Despite the issues we really enjoyed our stay and will likely be back.
I typically only like to review places that deserve 5 stars but I am making an exception for the DoubleTree Bloomfield Hills because of the poor upper management and for this reason I cannot recommend you stay here. If you are looking for other options I would recommend the Daxton Hotel or the Townsend Hotel, if you want to stick with the Hilton Brand I would recommend the Homewood Suites in Troy or the Garden Inn in Troy.
The worst experience I had in hotel industry. My package included the breakfast but my parents were refused to have breakfast. They are 70 years of age. I was out due to medical treatment. They were hungry and went to have breakfast but came back hungry. This is ridiculous and I will never ever use their services again. There are so many other better options. I recommend you to never go to this hotel as you will come back with worst experience. There is lack of communication between the staff and for that we have to suffer.
Nice hotel, staff was great. Didnt get a full 5 star review due to business center. Im here on a work trip and the computers didnt work (both Macs) so I couldnt print up my paperwork. It would be nice if they offered at least one PC as well. Kind of an odd layout, but pretty nice. Be prepared for a long walk if you dont pay the ridiculous $20 valet fee.
Well, I won’t be making a reservation nor staying here. The customer service staff is rude. I called today to see if there was a block of rooms for a baby shower. There wasntSo then I told the receptionist that I cannot make the reservation in care of my parents because I don’t have their credit card information. She said “If you’re not going to make a reservation, what was the reason for your call today?”I said, “I just wanted to check for my parents if there was a block of rooms for us to book within, or were they supposed to make a separate reservation.”She said, “Have a nice day”This receptionist, I wish I could’ve caught her name over the phone, but she clearly couldn’t understand what I was saying. The manager needs to be alerted about this.
This place is great! Lindsey at the front desk is absolutely wonderful !!! She has a great personality and very professional. She is very helpful and was great with my children. The room and hotel was very clean, they also have a great bar and deli. Definitely will be back soon!
Wonderful hotel with a beautiful lobby, perfect for snapchat/ig pictures. The staff was very professional and accommodating. My only issue was the rooms arent equipped with microwaves which made life slightly inconvenient. Outside of that great location in regards to food/ gas
Hotel is nice, but Front desk service was very rude. I Paid for a Delux rooms (which are higher in price than the king rooms), but I couldn’t tell a difference at ALL. There’s no microwaves on property AT ALL. Unless I was being lied to & bathroom are very small in delux room as well. But wouldn’t come back.
What a beautiful surprise! Our staycation was a success with dinner nextdoor at Joe Muirs and a beautiful nights stay at this beautiful property. Pictures dont do it justice! Social distancing measures were spot on as well as room cleanliness. Masks required, temperatures mandatory in lobby. Very professional. Will be back again!!!
Wonderful experience at the DoubleTree Bloomfield Hills deli. The food was so delicious and the service was even better. The manager personally came over and asked if we had been there before and we told him that we hadnt so he let us know all about the deli. We were instantly sold! Our server was personable and went over the menu. When our sandwiches arrived they looked so appetizing and tasted delicious! I had the light tuna and even though it was low calorie it was full of flavor. The decor is updated and we enjoyed our entire experience.
I had booked this hotel for my wedding guests to stay at and had a horrible experience with the sales staff. They did not disclose that the hotel was behind on renovations and failed to tell me that the hotel was behind. I had to find out from a third party ( my wedding planner, who heard it from a bride that previously booked with them) that they were not opening until the week after my actual wedding. I thought it was very unprofessional that they still kept my room block and deposit KNOWING that they weren’t going to open in time. The sales women that I dealt with was very rude and was not helpful. Brides, steer clear of this place.
If I could give them 0 stars I would!!!! We started staying here and we liked it at first but the last time we stayed here we left a bag that contained Jewelry and we called to tell them that we left it there and we were sure that we left it there and 30 days later we still have not resolved the issue and they will barely return our call . Now we’re in the process of filing a police report ! If you have valuables , please do not stay here !!!!!
Tonight was my first time in Detroit and my whole experience has been ruined by this hotel. Checked in my room at eleven PM with my guest we inspected the roomAnd it was infested with bedbugs. The first desk attendant called the operation manager aka AGM who wasted a hour telling me there was nothing she can do besides move me Room after i asked to go to a different hotel finally i end up on the phone with the GM and supervisor from Hilton honors who was no help at all so with a total of three hours wasted i finally had to book my own room at the doubletree down the road NOW AT TWO IN THE MORNING IM GOING TO SLEEP
I attended an event to tour what used to be the Kingsley. I was overwhelmed with the beautiful decor. The florist that does the lobby flowers is amazing. The lighting fixtures, or chandeliers over the piano lounge off the Duke lobby bar are beautiful. We were able to tour a suite, and try some of the offerings from Zalmans deli there in the hotel. It was shared that to eliminate the chlorine smell of a hotel, they have a salt water swimming pool. It was nice to see a Muer restaurant inside as well. The lobby also offers a small commissary. Crafted cocktails at the Duke include some awesome offerings like Gentlemen prefer Blondes.

2021-12-19I hadnt been here since they renovated the hotel and what a pleasant surprise! The room was spacious, modern but warm, comfortable beds, gorgeous bathroom. I was EXTREMELY impressed with how they are handling COVID concerns: staff wore masks, even housekeeping. No daily maid service unless you request it. Staff all greeted me with good natured hellos, so I felt very welcomed. Room was spotless. Thanks for a great visit!

2022-03-18The night shift front desk lady Pam made this experience amazing. She was kind and made sure we were more than satisfied with our stay! I hope the next time I visit she is here to continue making the experience outstanding. Also, hotel is great, modern, and amazingly clean. So up to date and the furniture around the hotel literally comes out of a catalog.

2022-04-20Check in was super easy and fast. Warm chocolate chip cookies awaited me upon arrival, and you cant go wrong with that. The hotel was exceptionally clean and quiet. The towels were larger than some of my blankets at home. The gym was bigger than most, three treadmills and multiple other machines in there as well as weights and a stretching area. I didnt use any other amenities and didnt eat on site. One of the restaurants on site has a business casual dress code, which I was not prepared for. Any staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. When I was there the elevator on my side was not working, which was fine by me because my room was right next to it. The parking situation felt a little sketch being in the back of the hotel, but its Bloomfield Hills, so I wasnt too worried. As is true for most anywhere in that area, the pavement to the parking lot on both sides is trash, with extremely large potholes all over the place, so beware when driving. The drive in the front was intact and smooth.

2022-05-22Positives: This hotel has nice updates. The location is great. Free parking. Courtyard with trendy chairs/balcony rooms overlooking fire pits is cool. Mini fridge is always nice too! Bed was comfortable. And the shower door went all the way up allowing steam.Negatives: The pool/spa area is ground level with a few rooms looking directly in from their floor to ceiling window. I felt like I was on display as people were literally looking in as kids banged on the glass like I was in the zoo. It was very odd but not a deal breaker. Although I would never stay in the rooms directly facing the pool due to noise concerns. This hotel is LOUD in the halls! There are door in the halls for noise blocking. They dont work. I didnt sleep much until music from the lobby was off.Check your bill! Mine had random food charges I had to have removed.

2022-04-25The room was very sanitary. The staff was courteous and the cookies were great. Would be a lot better if the mini fridge was a bit bigger. I wasted a lot of food and there was no way to reheat it. It would have been nice to have a microwave in the unit.

2022-02-10This is a cute hotel and has good places around. I wish the room cleaning was a bit good. Had yellow stains on my pot. Also for a diamond member I wished they had some more facilities. Overall good experience. I loved the desert they had.

2022-03-13This is my favorite hotel to stay at. It has everything you need under one roof! The rooms are comfortable and clean. It has a gorgeous courtyard, nice pool with hot tub. The Duke is the bar inside the hotel and Jeff the bar tender makes the best Pineapple Mojito I have ever had! It is connected to Zalman’s a great place for breakfast lunch or baked goods, and Joe Muers Seafood for upscale dining. But what makes this place the best is the staff, particularly Keisha and Tammy they are so sweet and hospitable. Great weekend getaway or and overnight during the week. Make sure you stop in on Thursday’s between 6-9 for live Jazz!

2022-04-19The Kingsley Inn has been my go to place whenever Im in Metro Detroit. The staff is great. The hotel accommodations are excellent. The Z deli restaurant inside serves a great breakfast. Im sure the sandwiches are great, too.
