The only thing about the order I made was that I got the Diet Coke that I ordered. I ordered some garlic cheese curds as an app and a Double POUND burger, no tomato. Now, the Pound burger is supposed to come with pepper jack cheese, an onion ring, and something they call Pound sauce all over it. My friend ordered a Salmon Avocado Wrap with onion rings. Well, when we received our meals, their wrap was pretty sparse with the salmon and avocado and was mostly lettuce, and what I was served was a plain burger with just red onion and lettuce on it, none of the stuff that was supposed to be on my burger. They completely forgot the order of cheese curds, only to have them come out well after we started eating our main meals. The guy who came out with them said that he dropped the initial order and that they had to make a new batch, which being a veteran of the restaurant industry, means we forgot. Never got asked if our meals were ok, as our waitress was suddenly absent for the entire time except when it came to drop off our bills. Now, I could have made a big stink about it, sure, but I was quite hungry so I made do with what I had. And youd think that since they dropped the ball on the chesse curds, theyd comp them. Nope, please pony up the 11.99 please. I will not be back.
Food was really good, actually got a good long Island ice tea. Our waitress ashley is a hottie and gives good service. Ask for ashley she a short blonde! The day we went there was a really good band playing they have upper and lower outdoor seating. I sat by window and laughed at all the people Churching up fanny packs lol, really the fanny pack is back 😂 🤦♀️🤦♀️
We reserved an igloo for this past Saturday. Our server Cassidy (not sure if it was a c or k.) was the best! She juggled a lot of people on a busy night and she did it gracefully and with such a sweet attitude and demeanor! She made our night great, she truly did! She deserves some props for that! The food was good too, cant beat nachos and pizza on a cold night watching football!
Blonde Waitress was extremely rude, friends went to the bathroom and she brought the tabs saying “I’m done serving that bitch” asked her what happened and said she rolled her eyes at her? Asked her what we could do to fix it as it must’ve been a misunderstanding and she said nothing since I have to be here till 2am and she’s done serving us and need to leave. Even had the audacity to add gratuity to our bills even though it wasn’t over $100 or a party of 8 like their menu says. Manager basically shrugged it off and wanted nothing to do with it.
I like the atmosphere. Tho, a little dark in lighting for the middle of the day. Not many there. A few at the bar, and we were the only patrons sitting at a table, besides a group of guys nearer to the bar hanging out. Food was great! Onion rings had a great coating on them!
Basic bar food with a really nice rooftop area and lots of TVs to watch the game. They have a reasonably decent selection of tap beers to complement the nice sports pub ambiance (I don’t recommend the mediocre cocktails). That alone is enough to make your visit enjoyable. It’s a nice place to socialize.Food is subpar (although my rosemary fries were decent), but it is ok after a couple of beers. Service is slow, but pleasant. I will likely return.
Went there this past Saturday night I had a beer my girl had a vodka cranberry or should I say a cranberry vodka Pretty horrible service all in all we ordered some pretzel bites after waiting 25 minutes we left before getting them. At any given time there were two to four people meandering around behind the bar doing squat unless you consider flirting with your coworkers an affective way to serve your customers. Anyway with all the good eateries in Brighton Id skip this one.
Have been coming here regularly for about 6 months now. Used to be amazing service and great food but for the past 3 weeks or so the service and quality of food has deteriorated quickly. The staff has suddenly become very young and inattentive. They seem more interested in talking to their coworkers and friends than waiting tables. It’s a shame because we used to come here at least twice a week. Not any more, there are so many other great options with great service and food in downtown Brighton. I don’t know if it changed owners or managers or what’s going on but this place has gone down hill fast!!!
Nice rooftop view of the sunset. Noise level is lower than the inside area. Food was good. Sandwich was a good size portion, my wifes salad was not so generous. Beer however was served on the warm side in a plastic cup. Plastic cup is okay, warm beer is not. Service was surprisingly quick... until its time to pay the bill, but you seem to get that everywhere these days
I feel like I’m piling on as there are so many very poor reviews here. The pathetic part of it is the cop-out response from the owner with a link to the Michigan Restaurant Owners site. Trust me, there are plenty of great places in Brighton with great reviews and excellent food. Try the place next door! We all get the pandemic business and the labor shortage. But when 3 people have wings and two drinks each, the bill with tip shouldn’t be $120; even if the food was perfect. Unfortunately, the food took a long time to arrive and quality of the food was poor, appeared to have been sitting around awhile. As a returning customer, this was a surprise as it used to be good there. While the service was still very good, and quite friendly, the wings were only warm, one order was delivered wrong and the guy delivering it (not the waitress) knew it and didn’t address it. The reviews reporting this level of performance go back a couple months now; long enough to show improvement. Need a manager who addresses problems. Maybe we’ll try again next year but be sure to check the prices first.
I havent spent too much time there, but I went to a social event for my place of employment recently. The atmosphere was nice; we were outside, on top of the building. They had a decent beer selection, as well as other beverages, as well as good appetizers, and they were reasonably priced. The service was good as well.
Waitress Cassidy was under-trained. I was charged for food and drink I did not receive. She stating I was over-served and cut off and charged me for beer and a meal I never received or ordered. She asked for me to be kicked out. She must have confused me for someone else because I did nothing wrong. The bouncer was even confused on why I was cut off. I am disappointed with how management handled the issue, and won’t be back because of it.
I came here this evening for the first time and was very disappointed in not only the food, and the environment, but the service. Our waitress was barely even there. She’d show up and then disappear for THE longest time. Refills took forever. She was just never around. And they were NOT understaffed. They had plenty of people, for upstairs and downstairs, no need to have been ignored for however long for a simple refill. Downstairs wasn’t even that full when we were there. Our food was sub-par, if even that. My 1/2lb burger was charred to heck and back, flavorless, not even cooked how I wanted it, barely had the cheese on it. It was a huge patty with a small piece of cheese? Didn’t even cover the patty. My fries were COLD and bland. My husband’s burger was charred more than mine he couldn’t even finish it. His sweet potato fries were cold as well. The environment was so loud. Music was blaring and I couldn’t hear my husband who was across the table from me. I had to yell to be heard. And I’ll say this now. Seeing the owner’s response to the one review that was written 2 weeks ago: how disgusting. Not even a “please call and discuss with me your problem,” but a URL link saying how “patrons need to be patient with restaurants.” The reviewer even said this was not their first experience at this restaurant and it hasn’t been good either time, before COVID as well. It was very arrogant and even pretentious to assume that this person walked into this restaurant with a bad attitude. I read that article and it’s ridiculous. One of the many, if not top reasons I will not come back and support this restaurant. You assume the customer wanted a bad experience? Give me a break. The only thing I could compliment this place on was their pretzel knot appetizer with the cheese dip. That is all.*Edit* If you notice, the response of a link from the owner to other negative reviews seems to not be here at present. Well. That’s because the owner has removed them! It was quite silly looking of them to not only respond to PAYING customers in this way, but to then delete said response. Don’t worry, though. I do have have their response saved on my phone! Still will not come back. Even after seeing them reply to customers in this way and then proceed to delete it once it’s been pointed out. Come on, guys. Do better.
Wont be back. Waitress did not write down the order, so got it wrong. Food was not good. Burger was overcooked and the homemade chips were burned. California chicken might have been good if the waitress had taken the time to get the order right but well never know. To top of off, the live band asked if it was anyones birthday and when a woman stood up they said she needed to stand on the table and take her shirt off. Guess they dont care about offending anyone. Nope. Wont be back
Had a single meal here by myself with two drinks here since the lockdown. Just want to say that food is awesome this place is good for more than just drinks.ordered a serving of one large of boneless wings, Absolutely worth the amount. As good of quality and in greater quantity of Buffalo Wild Wings. Great service with Elizabeth and the young woman who she was training was paying particularly good attention.Happily would be back for food OR drinks anytime, awesome food, awesome service.
Hands down the best service and food I have had in a very long time. Had some wings for an appetizer and then had an Italian Calzone that I will be thinking of for the next few days. Very reasonably priced and sitting on the roof deck rounded out this perfect afternoon. Will definitely be back!!!!!!!
Terrible absolutely terrible. Ordered Buffalo chicken dip for an appetizer 1 hour and 15 minutes later it comes with our meals. French dip and a salad an hour and 15 minutes later it comes and it’s COLD. Expressed I wanted warm sandwich and fries. She returned to say it would take quite awhile to get my food replaced with warm food. Absolutely pathetic. I will never go back.
I enjoy the atmosphere here and the food and drinks when I dine in with friends but weve gotten carryout for lunch at work and every time we order the nachos they are cold. We thought maybe the first couple times were a fluke but its been the last 3 or 4 times in a row now including today. There doesnt seem to have even been an attempt to heat up anything on it. The nacho cheese is always thick and gross and the meat and chips are ice cold.
The waitresses decided to find me and my friends on Facebook just to tell us that we are trashy people and that our tips were not good enough. Which though out all five of us we all left a 5 dollar tip or more and we werent even there for an hour. Good food but horrible service.
Amazing how you can put your name and phone number in to be called and they never call. It is truly amazing that the person taking my husbands phone number stated she had no idea when a table would be available. So sad to see a half way decent bar and grill do down the toilet. There are plenty of restaurants that want our business.
Tried to go and enjoy some drinks and apps with my older brother. Both ordered beers and the server was asked to take our IDs to the manager before serving us because it is policy for the manager to check out of state IDs. The manager sent the server back to us to tell us they arent comfortable serving us and the only way they would is if they called the police to the restaurant. We agreed and had to wait for the police to show up and check our IDs to confirm we had legitimate IDs. Our server was great, only her 2nd day and was trying to follow rules, but the manager didnt have the time of day to come over to our table and explain the situation or apologize after the police came. If you are from our of state, save the hassle and take your business elsewhere.
This is the 2nd time we have dined there, and it was just awful !although I will tell you the service is 5 star this time around the food was horrible the chair I sat was broke the legs fell out .. The 1st time the staff was not good except for the waitress, but I gave them another another chance and again the 2nd time the food was awful and the chair again it broke was very dangerous. The Buffalo macaroni was awful!
Friendly, good waitress, Thats it for the good part. Low Quality food, NOT cooked to order, special burger like The Hangover NOT allowed on the weekend just so they can force upcharges on an already pricey pre-built menu item. Fries were POOR because obviously double fried. Even smallest thing: onions were not sauted, they were lightly grilled. Good short order cooks deserve praise for what they are able to do, it really can be a timing puzzle, but this was EARLY lunch, there were very few orders going, the cook just was not good at his job, phoning it in. We had gone here based on someone who said pre-covid it was a place to get really good bard food. Well, today, it was overpriced and disappointing.
Came here for dinner with my bridesmaids. We were told by our waitress, 20 min after being seated on the patio (we did debate our seating arrangements in front of her too) that only certain menu items were available to those who chose patio seating (pizza, wings , salads and apps only) yet we saw other patrons on the patio eating cheeseburger and wraps (which they denied to our party) despite it all coming out of the same kitchen. If you want the full menu, forget about enjoying the weather and dine inside.
We decided to have a baby shower here on a Sunday afternoon during the day. We made the reservation two months in advance, including a set menu buffet and also a head count of 30 people. The manager did not have the reservation set up for 30 people like he said he would, there was an 8 top table available when we arrived and nowhere for us to seat our guests. They wanted us to wait for other guests to finish eating before we set up for the shower although I asked in advance if we could come an hour early to set up and this was approved. Because of this we had 20 minutes to set up and guests started arriving before we were even done unloading our cars. We ended up moving the party downstairs because there was nowhere for us to seat guests. The wait staff seemed unprepared and like they did not know how to wait on a large group. The manager also seemed very unprepared and although he communicated with me prior to the shower and told me everything was all set I was very disappointed that nothing was ready, including seating and our food. We actually were served our food on paper plates because the manager said they didnt have enough regular plates clean...We had to continuously ask for drink refills and anything extra... cake plates, silverware etc. My family that threw the shower for me actually set up the tables and chairs, were clearing peoples plates away, directing people to go up to the buffet for their food. Our experience at this restaurant was very disappointing and I will not be returning or recommending anyone else have a large group reservation there.
Awkward restaurant. No social distance. I dont really like this place at all. The waitress gave us a thing to scan idk how to use it just wanted a real menu but didnt get one. She gave me one ipad that i had to share with my friends instead of one for each of us. when i ordered i guess they didnt have what was on the menu anymore. Okay that is fine Ill just take get a couple drinks instead, drinks were meh. Bartender doesnt wear mask and i felt uncomfortable. I give 2 stars because live music is nice.
Sat on roof for my b day because I like The Pound atmosphere and food. Our server Shannon had a bad night and it rolled into mine. She got our drinks wrong to start, got wrong sides with meal (and never got corrected after asking twice) and then the bill showed the upcharge for the sides we didnt get and an 18% automatic gratuity (for 4 people???).I like this place is the only reason this experience didnt get 1 star
We went to the Pound (for the first time) to sit and listen to the band they had outdoor. We ordered 4 drinks and a fried pickle. I have never had drinks so bad we could not drink at all. I was really surprised the waitress said nothing when the 4 full glasses were sitting on the end of the table where she dropped off the bill. Im not sure how a bar cannot make a drinkable simple drinks.
Just recently went the food was horrendous ordered a spicy chicken sandwich n sweet potato n coleslaw n chicken wrap n small pizza n salad needless to say the pizza had burned cheese on it the spicy chicken sandwich was disgusting it was served on a personnel size pizza dough n the chicken was nasty n overloaded with vinegar n the coleslaw had chunks of the cabbage hard center mixed in it needless to say I couldnt eat it n my granddaughter only had one slice n didnt finish it.We have been here before but this was the worst even our server said it was over bearing with vinegar
I do not think I have ever been to a trashier establishment. Not only was the service awful, there is a pandemic and none of the staff were wearing masks. Bartenders were making drinks without masks on. Our waitress walked up to our table with her mask dangling from her ear. We left without even touching our drinks because it didnt feel safe. I have never written a review before, but I felt the need to put this out there. If you care about safety and sanitization during these times, do not go here. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.
Four of us went to The Pound for dinner last night, Tuesday,May 25th.The service was slow and it took over an hour to receive our meals. When the meals arrived, three of the 4 were ice cold. The 4th meal was a salad. The waitress took the cold meals back to the kitchen. It took quite a while to get the meals back.A Calzone came back burned and black.Between the service, quality of food and timeliness, this visit left much to be desired. Not sure that we will be back anytime soon.
Great food and great service! The appetizer nachos were smothered with all kinds of toppings and were delicious. The calzone was made with the most amazing dough. All of the portions were giant. We each took half of our meals home for lunch the next day. Our waitress was extremely friendly and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal.
Actually the taste of the food, the selections of beers, and to some extent the service all rate higher than one star. Also, in the summer the rooftop tables and bar are nice. The problem is that one cannot trust the food or the bill or anything else because management is so very obviously disdainful of its customers and that really ruins the experience. Too bad because the place really hast the potential to be great if only management were to think more about the customer experience and less about squeezing the last dime out of everything and everyone.
Great waitress couldnt have asked for better sophia did a great job. I wish I could have her every time. The security is a bit much maybe should settle down a little, I didnt even order a drink and got ID. BUT Sophia did an awesome job on serving and providing a great at time for me and guest. Im gonna ask for her every time!
This is a nice, neighborhood bar and grill right in the heart of bustling downtown Brighton. My bartender was extremely attentive and always maintained our drinks at the proper level. My food was good, and they had music playing upstairs on the outdoor patio which was a nice touch. The entire outdoor patio was very well done, actually, and the fact that there was a very diverse crowd was nice too. I would probably go back for drinks again when Im in town
Not your classiest joint but, great for beers and simple food. Their food gets pretty bad reviews. Their pizza is so so. Not the best not the worst. Their drink list and draft list were decent. I had a great time with friends here and it served its purpose for me. Nothing I would highly recommend but, seemed good for groups, friends or sports enthusiasts during the Big Game days. I wouldnt rush back but, I have nothing overly negative to say about this spot. The beer was cold, the bartenders were friendly and the food decent!
No!!!Slow!!!Sitting at the bar for a drink is very good, but don’t order any food. The staff at the bar seem to be too busy watching the TV or flirting. We sat there and watch our food sit in the window from the grill, as the bartender walked around cleaning. The food 🥘 was good but the service is sloooow. This is not the first time we have experience this same service. This place is packed, always! Maybe it was a one-off but the experience we had was the service was slow.Hope it improves.
Stopped in on a Monday night after Livingston County Firefighter Training Academy Ceremony. It was around 8:30 PM and a group of us stopped in to celebrate afterwards and get some much needed food. Took 45 minutes just to get water to the table, and 55 until I was told the coffee machine was broke ? Ok, I like to think I have patience and its not the waitress fault so I go with water like most others. I only stated I would be upset with her if she was the one that broke it :) . We could all tell this girl was new and we have all been the deer in headlights at one job or another. She was polite as could be and doing her best. So we ordered our food finally and waited. She had come to the table about 3 times stating the food was coming right up. I ordered a pizza, so I know it will be a few minutes anyway. 2 burgers, and a salmon wrap. Another hour goes by and I finally state if its not coming out I need to get us moving so we can eat as we still had a good drive home and would like to get moving. We were there 2 hours and food finally arrived after explaining we needed to go.All but my wifes wrap. At this point we were on the roof, and mind you we were wet from the rain at the ceremony. No fault of theres, however were now cold wet and been waiting for hours for food. We asked for a few boxs as we were leaving and the wife still had not received her wrap (Something I feel is most easy to put together)She came with the boxes and kept apologizing about the wait and she knew it was wrong. She stated she talked to the manager a couple times and they were aware, however there was nothing she could do. I explained to her I never asked to have anything off the bill, as we just wanted to eat at that point we were all in agreeance it was time to go.Again she stated the manager knows but there is nothing she can do. She was as nice as could be, and could tell it bothered her. No fault at all on this newer server, she did her best. I explained to have a manager should have come up and explain what the issue was, or at least apologize. That is the managers job. We had 19 people show up, and I know thats quite a few all at once. However the first table of us have ate at this point and were leaving before we were ever served.Part that bothered me is just tell me its going to be 2 hours to get anything to the table and let me make my own decision. I would have passed this time and maybe tried them again later some time. And to have the manager be a no show for the new girl was just bad business. The food was ok after getting home to eat it, and I tipped as I always do. The girl did her best. However I cant speak to the manager as they couldnt even take time to speak with us knowing there was an issue that lasted hours.Wont be back needless to say, and I feel bad as I also have a local business and we are trying to do as much local business as we can in these Covid lockdown days.Outside the wait the staff seem friendly and did what they could. Although the food was cold when we ate it, it seemed ok. (Sure it was better hot?) I just feel communication on something thats going to take them hours is nice to have to make a decision. If I planned to hang out for a few hours it may have been different, but 2 hours is still too long for food.Just my 2 cents... Hope your experience goes better. I hate leaving a negative review and normally never do, but I hope it helps them realize what is happening and they have a chance to correct it.
I can’t believe this place doesn’t have better reviews! The staff is always friendly and they have such a wide range of food on their menu. I love the salmon and goat cheese salad, and my family loves all of the burgers they’ve tried here! Plus the view on the rooftop is amazing. It’s a must do if you’re in downtown Brighton!
Are you kidding me? We went down town tonight to have a nice family dinner. We noticed that a band was setting up in the middle of main st. So we decided to grab an outdoor table at the Pound. Big mistake. We sat down and asked for waters while we looked over the drink menus. The server came back 10 minutes later asking if we were ready to order without our waters. We ordered drinks assuming she would bring waters with them, not so. We asked for them again and ordered an app. When the app came we asked again for our waters and ordered food. Waters finally came. Food came out and they didnt bring my dau f hters food, she didnt ring it up and couldnt remember what she ordered, ok, I asked for another beer. Daughters food comes out 10 minutes later, she asked if we need anything else, I ask for my beer again she says sure. 35 minutes.. 35 MINUTES goes by without her even coming back from the table. We watched her stand around inside and drink her Redhill, looking at her phone and talking to co workers. We were frustrated and her two other tables were frustrated. We had to ask abother server to grab ours for us. She never apologized, never asked us how she could fix it. Just said have a good night.$70 later, we wont be coming back.
This place has decent foot and a good vibe if you want to hang out with friends for a couple of drinks. All the losers complaining about no social distancing and whining about the staff not wearing mask just stay home and be miserable by yourselves, stop trying to ruin small businesses and the workers income because they don’t bow to your nonsense rules.
Great wings, and good food overall. Consistently slow servers who just dont see to want to be there. The bartenders are the exception, friendly, attentive, and having a good time while the servers talk amongst themselves. I like the fact that someone from the kitchen brings your food out while its hot.
The pound is a local gem. The food is magnificent and the staff does a great job. My wife and I come here often for dinner and will continue to come in the future. Their rotating game burger (different every month) is always a good choice. Try this place out for a casual inexpensive night out.
Food was good but they were out of 3 things my group tried to order. Tater tots, salmon and corned beef. They were also out of onion rings. This isnt the first time members of our party went and they were out of food. It seems common place which would indicate management issues. Our waitress was kind and helpful.
The atmosphere was good with a DJ playing music but the drinks were lacking quality, especially the draft beer. It almost felt like there was too much water. The cocktails were nice, as I was told by the ladies. It was a nice vibe, party like with lots of young people.
The Pound is just plain dirty. We stop in from time to time to sit on the upstairs patio, but would NEVER eat there. The bathrooms are always disgusting, the service bar area is dirty, and many of the employees are often standing around using their phones instead of tidying up their work areas. I was completely grossed out by the trash can upstairs that looks like its never been wiped down and the wall behind it had food splattered all over it. And to top it off, you can get happy hour prices downstairs, but not upstairs. You can walk down and get it yourself though if you want. How dumb.
A bar that stays seating people despite dine-in restrictions? gross. Half the staff does not even wear masks properly. And their fried pickles are too salty. Definitely gross frat house vibes for trashy adults to party and spread diseases. Surprised law enforcement hasnt done anything about their neglect for public health.
This place is like a frat house at night. Bartender failed to properly make a simple mixed drink, twice. Charge way too much for garbage beers. Nearly 6.00 for a pint of blue moon? I can go to many bars/breweries (like brewery becker) to get better beer for less. (By the way, many places offer a tall blue moon for less than 6.00)
We gave this a second chance after having one bad experience where they totally screwed up my daughters order and brought the wrong food. It took a long time to fix. They did not refill drinks, and had slow service. The manager apologized and gave me a $5 off coupon. So tonight we went back and had the same experience! We had slow service and a waiter that was mostly AWOL. They even screwed up my daughters order again! The food was good, but we wont go back.
Still to this day the top and bottom are not connected and they dont tell you nor is it posted. So if want Taco Tuesday, its only available downstairs which makes no sense.. Not to mention they tell you its not available after you ordered drinks that can only be paid for up top.. They really need to get it together. Prices have gone up and its a bunch of children serving. Food is decent tho.. 2 stars.
The rooftop patio is a wonderful spot on a summer eve! The team at The Pound! is great, and the food is terrific. If you want the full menu, which includes an amazing salmon and goat cheese salad. Note there is a festival menu, and some of the great selections may not be available but there are tons of great choices!
We always have a good time at Pound. Fun atmosphere for people of all ages although after about 9:30 its more of adult place (DJs and Live Music) Personally we love the fact that we can get a great pizza and and a few drinks and not have an outrageous bill which has me coming back. The staff has always been friendly and quick to take care of our orders. My little nieces ages (2 and 6) LOVE the mac n cheese and think is so cool to sit up on the roof and I could not agree with them more. Over all it its just a great place to kick back, relax, eat, and drink.
I had a large order of bbq wings to go (my Wife picked up). As I was eating them I noticed I kept getting an undertone flavor of something else. After about 1/3 of the way through, I came to the conclusion it was onion ring that I was tasting, which tells me a bigger issue at hand. The oil in the fryer is not being cleaned as often as it should be or isnt being cleaned good enough. With this being my first experience I can safely say I shall not be back.
If it wasnt a Groupon it would not have been worth it. The server had no emotion whatsoever! I requested my meal to be prepared a certain way. I got it and it was not right then informed her and she looked at me like it was my problem! I got it back, it was fine then I settled up the bill. She handed it to me with this blank look on her face and said here....not a thank you or any type of acknowledgement whatsoever! I tipped normally in spite of this but will never go back nor recommend.
I come here a lot. Having said that I do not eat the food. Every visit is a case study in food safety violations. Start with the guy in the kitchen with the huge beard and curly hair and no netting. But if you want to party on a Friday night this is a great spot. Hard to screw up vodka.
It was ok. They no longer serve the one pound hot dogs which is where the name came from iirc. I had the Buffalo mac and cheese education was pretty tasty. We sat on the roof, and it was nice to watch the traffic go by, although a bit chilly as it was night time. Our server was great, but we were not okayed to hear the taco bar was no longer offered, even though it was on the menu. Regardless, it was still decent enough and I will plan a trip back here in the future.
The most stale and tasteless chips we have ever had. We requested fresh ones that came ten minutes later, we received a very small bowl of chips that tasted even worse. One of the very polite staff members said they didnt like them either. Our waitress was extremely unpleasant, and seemed to have a permanent scowl on her face. The hostess was very welcoming and pleasant.I have to wonder about the quality of the other food.
At The Pound in Brighton, MI...employees and patrons running around without masks. Asked to speak to a manager. Watched him as he searched for a mask. When he did appear it was obvious his intent was to avoid any conversation. He is standing at the end of the bar without a mask with another man without a mask. Over 500,000 American deaths. What does it take? My guitar sadly weeps. Reply from the owner//s expected within 10 days.
Got there with my two kids at 6:30, and wasnt seated until 7:45. Ordered everything all at once because it took so long to get seated and we never anything we ordered it until we asked our waitress if it was ready. Got the kids lemonades at 8:25 after asking for them repeatedly. When our youngest was falling asleep because it took so long, we asked about his food specifically, and she brought his meal immediately... but no one elses. At around 9:15, with only about ten other tables filled in the restaurant, we asked if the rest of the family could get their food to go, which was brought to us almost immediately in to go boxes, quite cold. She never even brought us our side salads! So, if you are hoping to eat when you go to a restaurant, Id recommend choosing another place.
Food was okay, rooftop was very nice, silverware was so dirty looking that I didnt want to use it, they gave me another set that was just as bad....meanwhile a sour faced waitress did not move from her post holding up the counter...and could have been cleaning some silverware, details are important. Our waitress did not know parts of the menu items we asked about. seems a little lacking in effort with things in general. I would try another place if you have the option to do that.
Lots of potential. But, not impressed enough to stop back. Asked about food on the roof upon entry, was told we could. Finally seated upstairs and awaited a waitress to find out they only do the regular food menu. Went downstairs and directed to patio seating where we were then left my the waitresses after asking about the possibility of food.
Its overpriced and the service is always poor. Girls behind the bar text more than they work and the D bag manager is always trying to flirt with the waitresses even when its busy. Literally every time, go in see for yourself. This bar is popular for its location so it seems as if they dont really care about service or losing customers.
The waitresses downstairs seemed bored having to serve us. They werent very friendly or even personable. They didnt explain anything to us. We sat downstairs and ordered the taco bar, she never told us it was upstairs and we would have to get it ourselves. She came back with some tickets and put them in the table and said its upstairs. Um, ok? So then we asked about frozen drinks and she said they only offered them upstairs. If we would have known all the stuff we wanted was upstairs we would have just went there. Anyways, we ordered some appetizers. Terrible over cooked and rubbery cheese curds but the fried pickles were ok so theres that. We finished and went upstairs for some frozen drinks since it was over 90 outside. They had one frozen drink. Thats it. One. Premade. Frozen drink. Smirnoff ice with redbull in it that was over $10 a glass. I just had a water. On the plus side the waitress upstairs was super nice. The view from upstairs was nice but all in all its not a place I would visit again.
Ate here Friday evening while attending the Brighton Fine Art & Acoustic Music Festival. Didnt wait long for a table on the roof. Ordered fried pickles and cheese bread. Waitress asked if we wanted those as appetizers, we said yes. Ordered a pizza as our entrée. No glass on the roof, so our pops were in disposable plastic cups and the ice melted very quickly. We waited and waited and waited...no pop refills. Finally, the pizza came...no fried pickles, no cheese bread. I asked the guy who brought the pizza to cancel them. Waitress finally came back - You never got your pickles and cheese bread?!? Um, no. Oh, its because were so busy with the festival. There were a few empty tables on the roof so it wasnt THAT busy. Still no refills on the pop. Wife had to ask for one. Ate my pizza while drinking the same small, watered down Cherry Coke. No offer to take any money off the meal other than to not charge us for the food we didnt get. 10, 20% would have been nice for the screw-up.Pizza was great, rooftop atmosphere was great, service was pretty terrible.
Went with my husband. The food was okay, but we waited over 30 minutes for it on a slow Thursday night. We had bothed finished sipping our drinks nefore we got oir food. Our server walked past us multiple times after we finished our food and didnt acknowledge us. When we tried to ask a different server for our check he ignored us. We finally asked the bartender and only then did our server acknowledge us and get it. The tots were good, but not worth going back.
We went there because my sister was in town and my friends, husband and I were showing her a good time. We started at Stout, where we spent the majority of the night. There was trivia and it was a really fun time. Then we popped over to Lu and Carls for a drink before stopping at The Pound last. Our waitress was rude and when half of our group went outside for a cigarette, they locked the doors on us! It wasnt even close to closing time yet! They finally let us back in after ignoring us for a while because they finally realized (the morons) that we had open tabs to pay. But then kicked us out and closed well before their hours of operation dictate. This is the last time I try this place. I keep ending up there every once in a while even though its a horrible time every time. I hear the food is still good.. But as for the nightlife, bad. The management is a joke. I constantly hear stories of fights happening there, girls getting taken advantage of and a lot of other sketchy things. All the other bars in Brighton are better than this place.
We experienced very bad service. Our server (with whom never mentioned his name) made mistakes with our order, never came by after our food was delivered, and forgot about our to-go order. He seemed more interested in conversing with his friends at the bar, and the place wasnt even that busy. The food was ok, basic bar food of burgers and sandwiches. Needless to say we will not return.
We were sat outside on a Tues night went inside to get my own beer, still no server! We finally waved someone down even though they walked past us three times. Order wfrom a server that had an arm full of dirty dishes. Food came, not hot! Ordered a beer, never did get it, but was charged for it. The excuse was they were short staffed (tell us before we order)!Normally a great place, maybe just a bad night.
Stopped by on the way back from Detroit to try something new. Waitress was clueless and more interested in staff than what was going on with our cold and overcooked food. She also acted as if we were a major inconvenience sitting in her section. It was before the dinner rush on a Sunday after the Lions game. My grandfather was originally from Brighton so I thought wed pay tribute to him by stopping to see some of the town he called home for years. It seemed like a nice little establishment with a small town feel, but we were disappointed to see we could have got better food at McDonalds. Will make sure to drive on by next time.
Been to this bar a number of times in the last year. I have always had great food and great service! The atmosphere is alway friendly and wait staff is great. I love the open deck in the summer time. Food portions are very generous. I would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks!
Service was not great, could never find the waitress, we got our food, no silverware or napkins, I asked another employee I saw if we could get some he said yes and left, 8mins later I had to go get it myself at the bar.I ordered 2 drinks, 1st one a margarita, not good at all, sryupee and just a hint of alcohol but it was tequila, 2nd I figured an easy one, Jack and coke, well it either had flat coke or malibu rum in it or both, did not even finish them, I was with some friends and her drink wasnt desorable either, now Im not picky and I realize its a bar and grill and not a 5 star restaurant, but I was disappointed in the drinks and service, now if the drinks were just ok I would have been fine with that, I wish I could have went around the bar and shown them how to make those drinks the proper way, because I could have, it is a nice place though and the cheese bread was good.
Just moved to the area and wanted to check the place out. I came in tonight 5/11/19 around 4:45 pm.The Hangover burger was excellent, service was great until Kristen (bartender) did the one of the few things that makes me not return. She is the reason for 2 stars when I really wanted to give 5.Having just completed my meal (less then a min after- literally) Kristen came back and said, im heading home and I need to cash you out. I had not even finished my 2nd drink.I could argue that the bar doesnt want old people there because clearly I was the oldest in the bar at the time, and for some reason (despite all others who sat down after me and were drinking) NOT 1 other person at the bar was asked to cash out . NOT 1.I was not drunk, mean, or caused any issue to be asked to leave. However, there is NOTHING more frustrating, discourteous, or disrespectful then shoving a check in front of a customer and say you need to pay now. It basicaly means, thanks for coming in, now get out.I had planed to enjoy a few drinks and watch the Tigers game. A fact that im sitting in a bar a few doors down from you writing this now.Mgmt really needs to change its policy as this is an old way of thinking in the industry. If its because of my age then put a sign on the door no one over 35 after 4pmIn excellent bars, you dont know a shift change happens. Good bars will at least say im heading home, can I get ya anything before I go? Or im leaving for the night and so and so will take overI get she wants her tips (i should not have left her one) but in great bars, its not an issue beacuse it all works out in the end.Hope owners make a policy change, because its unlikely I will return. But if your trying the bar for the first time, it does have good food, just make sure you dont go when Kristen is working because you will need to leave when she does, either that or just dont be over 35.
Dont waste your time/money here. There are plenty of other establishments to go to in Brighton. Came up to Michigan to visit some friends and we went to The Pound to have some dinner and drinks. To start things off, the service was horrible. Our food took over an hour to arrive at our table, drinks sat empty and when we did finally get refills, they were watered down. The beer was flat and tasted watered down as well. As far as the food, where to begin. A said before, the food took and hour to arrive at our table and was cold. The burger had no flavor at all and was over cooked, my friends ordered some wings and pizza. The wings had hardly any meat on them and tasted band. The pizza was under cooked and had entirely too much sauce. If I had the option to give less than 1* I would. We asked for the manager who was a complete joke. Took him 30 minutes from the time of us asking to speak to him to him arriving at our table. He was extremely unprofessional telling us the food is how the owner likes it served and if we dont like it we can leave. If this is the case and the owner likes the food like this, he/she has some serious issues. I would highly suggest finding some better employees that care about the establishment they are working for rather than just be there to collect a paycheck starting with the poor excuse of a manager. Again, dont waste your time/money here. you will leave extremely disappointed.
If you value timely service dont go to the pound. From my seat right now Ive seen a party of 5 up and leave. Party of three get their own carry out containers and another party was just sat at a dirty table cluttered with empty cups and used napkins. Our server took our order and only returned 40 minutes later after flagging down another waitress to get our bill. Brighton has many places you should visit before the pound. The pits.
Not a fan, been yelled at by the staff and food isn’t that good. I’m almost certain they sell bottom shelf liquor as top shelf. I buy a shot of Johnny walker or Macalom for birthday shots. This place wasn’t that for certain. Every time I go alone I get disrespected by the bouncers. Step it up!
It was my sisters 21st birthday party. She still had her minor licence since the secretary of state didnt give her an enhanced one. They allowed us into the bar no problem. When my sister tried to order a drink the bartender turned her down claiming it was an expired license, which was understandable. Our friend and I ordered drinks, paid for them, even a guy bought drinks for our friend and I. We switched from the bar to the booth and I was almost finished with my drink when the bouncer camvalubr. He asked to see my sisters id again and explained that they couldnt serve her since she didnt have the enhanced license. (The bartender explained that earlier and we told them that it was fine) The bouncer then walked back over to the bartender was talking with her for a few minutes. He then came over to us and told my sister that she had 30 seconds to leave or she would be escorted out. My friend and I downed our drink quickly and left. My question is why the hell would they let my sister in with her id the way it is, but AFTER we pay for our drinks they kick us out? They lost 3 valuable customers. Im just hoping this review will save a few people from gettinh the same treatment we received.
Terrible service. I went there for my 21st birthday and asked the bartender what their special were. Her response was, I hate that question, we dont have any specials. I had been 21 for literally 60 seconds and I could not believe how poor the service was. The bartender could have handled the situation a lot better. Instead, I will NEVER spend another penny at The Pound. There are plenty of other bars literally within walking distance. You would think that will all the competition, The Pound would try to improve on their service and management, but instead, they just lost what could have been a loyal customer.
I just saw the abuse of power of 2 bouncers. The patron was dancing with his wife and he picked up her an inch off the ground. Next thing I saw was 2 bouncers pick him up carry him outside and litterly threw him on the ground and walk away. The patron had done absolutely nothing wrong. This was clearly a case of assault! I encourage him to file charges. I suspect the main reason was because a power hungry individual from another bar followed the bridal shower party here. Apparently he knew the security people there. It was an act that was not warrented. These establishments are going to be sued due to this behavior. I am a witness and also non-drinker so my insight to this is quite clear. A follow up... apparently management doesnt care how security treats its customers!!!. Action isnt going to be taken against his employees. Apparently his Monopoly is making him enough money he and his establishment can afford to assultpeople at will. It all comes down to power and money. Enter at ur own risk should be posted on their door next to the sign that says they have the right to refuse customers
Thought this bar was awesome , until i came for my 25th birthday on November 11th,2017 & the skinny blonde waitress wanted to over charge my credit card & add random drinks on my tab . After i got done telling her i was a single mom to 3 babies & this is my only night in almost 4 years to go out . If i could give this bar a negative star rating i would .Update still waiting on my money that was promise bad , still wonder why they needed my card but we’re not gonna return the moneyWill never return to such a greedy bar
Terrible experience...Ordered food and waiting over an hour only to get cold food...Wait staff and manager on duty does not care...Will not come back again...This is the 3rd time of this type of experience...Ket another customer who was waiting over 1 hour and 45 minutes for their food, not even that busy at the bar/ Restraunt. .The owner of this place should sell it to someone who knows how to run a business...
My girls & I went to The Pound for the first and last time today. Our waitress was Riley. We were advised coming in at about 11:30 am, that they were only serving breakfast. That was fine, we were mostly thirsty and wanted a quick bite to eat, the bar was not very busy, eggs font take long to make.At 11:45 am, we let Riley know that we had an appointment 2 doors down from the bar at 12:30. [We were wedding dress shopping]. She acknowledged that, and it didnt seem to be a problem. We ordered eggs, toast - breakfast. I asked for a water, the girls got make your own mimosas. The girls got their mimosa bases much before I got my water.By 12:10, we still didnt have our food, so on her way by, I reminded Riley that we had to leave pretty soon.I got a snippy reply from her that, I cant help it. Im not the one cooking it. Really? She was the only staff supposed to be communicating between the customer and cook. I wasnt blaming her, I was reminding her.We all got our food minutes later, I did not have toast for my eggs. Riley acknowledged that, and said, it would be right out. It wasnt. I ate the egg around the yolk, some potatoes, and waited....forever. A guy finally brought my unbuttered toast. My yolks were cold. When Riley collected the checks from us, I didnt have my credit card out and ready, I was still trying to slam the rest of my meal. Riley asked if I, wanted to give her my card? She THOUGHT I was in a hurry - again.. snippy. I took the tip I had left her off the table, and replaced it with a penny. I NEVER do that. I usually tip 20 - 25%, and taught my girls to do the same. Both of them have been waitresses in the past, and are sensitive to wait staff. In a later discussion, I learned neither of them left a tip that they usually would. Heres a tip, Riley; you catch more flies with honey, than vinegar!Wont be back. I know, YOU dont care, but the owner might.
Place is a rip off. Save your money and go to Lou and Carls. Spent $54 for two burgers with fries, a Pabst, and a Calazone. They had happy hour for $2 domestic beers except you cant order that up stairs on the deck. So they charge $4 for a 16 oz Pabst. Nice. This is the second and last time I ever go there. Service was good. $16 for a calazone. Nice.
Worst burger place in the Brighton area. We visited on a Tuesday afternoon. We waited 30 minutes for our burgers which came out burnt. The sweet potato fries were overdone and the place was filled with burnt burger smoke from the kitchen the whole time. We got served our drinks in plastic cups because they were out of regular ones. When we asked to speak to the manager he was the guy sitting at the bar in camo wearing his hat backwards. And he didnt even know who was asking to speak to him when we asked. So unprofessional and not worth the time or the money.

2022-03-21Awesome local spot in Brighton. I tried the Walleye sandwich, and it was HUGE! (and delicious). Subbed out the kettle chips for beer battered fries, which were hot and crispy. This place is great to grab a beer and catch the game, and is also kid friendly for families looking for a place to eat. Going to have to check out the roof top patio once it opens for the season.

2022-05-26We frequently eat here during the nice weather. The food is good, the roof top seating is great, and there is live music often. Its just not above the rest when it comes to the food selection. Great place to grab a little something and have some sticks with friends.**They do offer take out drinks for walking around town.

2021-08-26I will start off saying I understand all restaurants are understaffed so Im trying to temper this review. I went there on lunch and ordered an Arnold Palmer. They had to brew the tea. It was noon. It took 20 minutes to get that. Ordered the sliders special. After waiting 40 minutes I got the photo. Burnt patties that were very tasteless. A super small portion of fries again that were lack luster. My wife got a salad that was unimpressive as well. We wont likely be back.

2022-03-05The many flat screens at the Pound allowed everyone in our party to view our game of choice from our hometowns. The wide selection of draft and craft beers including Blake’s hard cider and Bell, ringing in at 15% scored points with us. Food selections were easy to choose from including Nashville hot chicken, a favorite. The Wednesday night Trivia game added to our fun. After that we played the arcade games while listening to the DJ music and making friends with some locals. We were rideshare challenged at closing time and The Pound helped us out with our dilemma. Great Place and Great People. Thanks for the memories!

2021-08-31Stopped in for happy hour $3 domestic $4 beer. Great selection bartender shared new owners we had to try. Can’t beat beer selection, beer poured great and appetizers 1/2 price hit the pickles and spinach dip both very tasty, did find out from bartender their a us foods and Gordon food service shop nothing homemade here, just frozen food, Not the best but If your in Brighton worth the stop for a beer and bite during happy hour, I wouldn’t focus on this bar for a meal other options nearby are what I would chooseReceived bill...bartender told us all microbrews $4 ...zombie dust $6 she had no comment when I asked about this....hmm

2022-02-13We ate in an igloo atop the building. That was great! The food took forever though. We left almost 3 hours until the event we were going to and it took every last minute of that time. The food was good but nothing Id come back for. The staff was very nice.

2022-06-02The burgers here used to be outstanding. Something has changed! Please change the burgers back to the way they were! Tried the burgers this past weekend and they honestly are no longer even good. The wait staff let me know that something had changed. Had to order the burgers twice in trying to get them cooked medium. They are so thin that you cannot get them anything but well done. These used to be a third of a pound Burgers, as the menu clearly states, I dont even think theyre a quarter of a pound anymore. Also, please offer brussel sprouts on the weekend!

2022-03-21Pretty cool bar area up stairs. The place is pretty big. Food is decent. Drinks are good. Good atmosphere
