Good store, just be sure to wash the clothes/ items immediately. Bought some pants the other day and didn’t wash immediately and now I have ants that seem to be coming from the pants themselves.
Love the store, but yesterday Assistant Manager Larry was a downer and complainer. He was upset the mask mandate was back. Complaining that he was going to get a doctor note so he wouldnt have to wear due to his sleep apnea. Not professional at all.
Drop off wait on Saturday is ridiculous. 20+ cars in line and they are taking at least 5 minutes a car. Next time I’ll donate elsewhere. What a waste of gas. I felt sorry for the one guy working. Not enough help.
This is one of their larger (but not largest) stores. Occupies the entire building of a former Super Great Scott.Well-organized and nicely merchandised, with polite, helpful staff. Of all the SA stores Ive visited, have found consistently the best quality and best deals at this location. Each week features a different color tag on sale at 1/2 off. Wednesdays are Senior Discount Day; 55+ get a discount (check for current %). Mention discount before order is rung up.Friday afternoon through early eve, and similar times Saturday, are usually crazy busy. Closed Sunday. Special sale days are crazy till the last couple of hours before closing. Expect very long lines at these peak times. Store will also be messy during these times, but staff catches up quickly afterward.NOTE: all merchandise is donated. They are a charitable organization, and do not purchase items.
I donate here frequently. They have a good system in place, but there is still often a line. The place must be loaded with goodies.
My husband found brand new handmade leather shoes for 13$. Great deals. Well organized.
A cockroach fell out of the ceiling here and landed on me while I was using the restroom. While they may have a lot of merchandise, the actual quality of the establishment was immediately visible. Many of the toilets were overflowing. Two sinks were cracked and broken. The hand dryer was broken, so they left a roll of toilet paper on top of it. Every single stall was out of toilet paper. There was a gaping hole in the ceiling of the mens restroom, which was filled with cockroaches. Oh, and dont forget the merchandise - all of the shelves are filled haphazardly and piled to heights that make it annoying to parse through any of the items. Half of the DVDs and CDs are missing their discs. The electronics section is filled with broken VCR players for $20+ each, in 2018. This salvation army has to be my least favorite on this entire side of Michigan. If youre going, go in with low expectations.
Extremely expensive prices on all items. Most secondhand items are more expensive at this store than anywhere else whether it be Ebay or other Salvation armys. They usually get great items but be prepared to pay 100% higher prices than any other salvation army in Michigan. New management spends time googling prices on items.
Found some items but their prices are ridiculous. Very expensive. But it was a clean store and the employees that I encountered today were very nice and helpful. Some areas of the store are pretty cramped. Especially the fragile section.

Went through the drive thru and donated items. Easy. They took care of removing everything from my van.
I just find it pointless to walk in. All the dressing rooms are closed .Even though they allow 3 days to return items and then you get a store credit , its just to much of a hassle. I live an hour away.....they do have many nice household items.
Waited in line for over an hour to drop off donations for them tell me they can’t accept anything anymore. There was one tiny sign that said they close at 5 which left customers unaware of the time they close because it was unreadable. I understand how hard these workers work but customers need a heads up when they are “ too full” or when they stop accepting donations. A solution to this would be putting a bigger sign farther down the line so people don’t waste an hour of their life. I left very disappointed in the service today

I am positive that people donating sterling silver and other valuable jewelry and items to this store. However they never put them in store. Where do they go? They mysteriously disappear in the back room of this store.Who is control what is going on on the back of this store?Should a law enforcement agencies interesting what is going on on the back of this store?
(If you like saving money read before going) -from a fellow thrifter to another: I don’t know who’s the new person in charge of management and pricing but it’s ridiculous. I’ve been coming here for 10+ years and it used to be fair and affordable, but someone new got hired and things are now being sold here for *more* than their actual retail price from their original stores itself. (It’s been this way for a few months now) Salvation army is supposed to be a CHARITY store, not and ANTIQUE store. Used items are being sold more than they’re worth; same with broken items, and it’s so sad and greedy of the new person letting this charity store rip people off. I hope they grow a conscience or get fired, if you experience this too please write to the complaint board, I and a few others are writing to it and hopefully it will change it back to how it used to be (:
I was always told if you dont have anything nice to say dont say it at all. Lol I dont know. You can sometimes get good deals on stuff. But some of the prices you wonder who in the heck is pricing this stuff especially when its used. Can be too high priced at times.
When dropping off items be prepared to spend a good half hour or more. The gentleman that take your items are very pleasant and work very hard. I think they could probably use a few more staff.
Lots of name brand to choose from and tons of mint condition items that are cheaper than the name brand stores! I love buying Calvin Klein, Old Navy, Mudd, and American Eagle clothes here. All Furniture is beautiful and worth purchasing at Salvation Army. If you dont shop there now, I bet you will after reading this.
In the amount of time you are going to have to wait in line to donate here, you could drive to the location on Opdyke in Auburn Hills where there is never more than a few cars MAX and they stop taking donations at 5, not 2. As far as shopping, the items inside this Rochester Hills location are priced way too high for thrift store shopping. A medium sized canvas picture for $19.99? A larger sized canvas picture for $39.99? Why not just go straight to Bed Bath and Beyond and buy it new for the same price? Today I saw new bottles of VO5 brand shampoo and conditioner there for $3.99 each. These sell brand new at Dollar Tree for $1, all different variations of shampoo and conditioner, and thats literally walking distance from this store, so... ??? I guess you could find the occasional name-brand, good condition treasure but for the same price you could buy a new one that isnt as designer. This kind of breaks what Ive always thought of as the whole point of thrift store shopping, but thats just my opinion. The long lines to checkout go back halfway through the store. Some of the prices are unclear - for example, a set of 3 candy cane pathway holiday decoration lights that all are connected and going through a single cord/plug are priced by a $1.99 tag put on each candy cane. They were bundled together as a set with tape. Pricing each individually as $1.99 is misleading. They are literally inseparable even if someone TRIED. Why dont they just put a single price tag of $6 on it? There were about 7 of these sets so it wasnt a single mistake. I do wonder if the people making the pricing decisions thinks the shoppers there wont just apply their own common sense. Im sorry to say I distrust this operation. Ill always drop-off at the Opdyke location moving forward and wash my hands of this location.
Love this Salvation Army. They adhere to the Covid 19 rules and are strict. Everyone must wear mask. The store is more open, aisles were clear, arrows were displayed on floor for foot traffic. However, the fitting rooms were closed for safety purposes because of the pandemic. Otherwise, all is back to this SA. Great stock, good prices, and the staff was very helpful. Lines in the store moved quickly. However......the line to drop off donations was wrapped all the way around the front and still going when we came out. The store cashier told us that everyday is like that now that they are accepting donations. For THIS store, donations accepted 10-2. But they line up at 8:30 am. Last car cut off 1:30 pm. These guys are working as fast as they can to keep up with the Pandemic.
Found some jeans for $3.99-$5.99, a dress for $6.99, and went to the register to pay. Cashier looked at the prices and said they werent right and that they are $9.99 for each of the pairs of jeans (3) and that the dress was $16.99! Tried telling me that the tags were tampered and tried showing me how they were tampered. The tags did not show any signs of tampering and looked like any other tag. I felt like she just wanted to charge me more than the tagged price. Cashier was also rather unpleasant; when I walked up to pay I asked how she was and got no response. When looking at the items I put up to pay, she just said, No. No. No. That was my first time at that location and it will certainly be my last. Ive never had such unpleasant experiences at any other locations. I do NOT recommend.I will also mention that every Salvation Army has a 5 items for $5 special on specific color tags every weekend on Fridays and Saturdays, and also single items of the same specified color tag for 50% off.This weekend, it was brown tags. In this store, I found absolutely NO brown tag items. Prices were also MUCH higher than every other location I have been to (which is a lot).EDIT: I forgot to mention that when she removed the items I no longer wanted due to price (I still bought two items as I felt pressured that she would accuse me of tampering had I not), she said to the other cashiers in a very loud voice that other customers surely would have heard, These items have tampered tags and need to be repriced! Absolutely unbelievable.
Huge Salvation Army. Lots of great clothes and furniture. Id suggest carving out a few hours to be there. I was there for onlu 1 hr and felt like I still had so much to see. Organized, clean and friendly workers
This salvation army is huge and the prices arent bad, but when I go to a thrift store on a Wednesday morning I expect it to be a relatively fast check out experience. You will not get that fast check out experience here. I have never seen lines so long at a thrift store in my life. Its disappointing finding one or two items youd like to buy and then waiting an hour to purchase them. They definitely need more cashiers for such a high volume store.
What do they think this is, a fancy boutique? its a salval with really high prices! it is Rochester so what do you expect, I suppose. 8.99+ for something from target or old navy, you might as well just go to the stores themselves.
Lots of good deals but never many items with the color of the day or week tags on them. I dont know if employees hoard them or if they change the color on items to make sure everyone pays as much full price as possible but there have been a few times I have visited, waited for an items color to go on sale, and the color was different upon coming back. I thought it was me at first, I old, so I started taking pictures. Sure enough, the color tag had been changed. How awful.
This is a nice location, that is pretty big. They have the clothes sorted pretty well by color and type. They have furniture, jewelry, kitchen appliances, and electronics. They even have carpet and some sports equipment. They typically have a sale going on and they have fitting rooms. The store is kept neat and organized from what Ive observed on my two visits.
I always go here on a Thursday because you get 25% off your purchase if youre a student/teacher. I always find the best clothes here for decent prices. The clothes here are a little pricey compared to other thrift stores Ive been to but this store by far has the best clothes to choose from. My cart gets full after every trip here, where at other places I only get about half the cart and only end up leaving with a handful of things I like. Highly recommend!!
I recently made 2 visits both with horrible experience.1st: I went to get some kids clothing and was not discounted like I should have. The discount of the day was Orange, blue, and yellow, they only gave me the discount on the Yellow tags. They had the white tags 50% off sign up when I came in, they took it down and didnt give me the discount on anything with a white tag.2nd: I purchased 2 beds. They wouldnt accept my frequent shopper punch card discount (35%). Then after I loaded up my vehicle an employee ran out telling me I needed to come back inside because they didnt charge me enough. What? Are you kidding me?!? Charged me almost $300 for a twin bed! I could have gone almost anywhere else and gotten it cheaper! I will not do business with this salvation army again, and I will be persuading others to not use them either.Only shop here if you want to be ripped off!
Look for weekly specials and hourly discounts after 5.Buy a red bag to go green and youll save 5%.Closed Sundays but great deals every other day if the week.Friday and Saturday have extra savings on the weekly specials.Spend over 25$ and get a punch card to save later.Great furniture deals too.Shop here.
I havent been to any other Thrift Stores around Troy as I live in NZ, so I can only compare to NZ. I found this shop fantastic! The size of it is amazing! Clothes are hung according to children/male/female in their colours, the changing rooms were clean & tidy, stock was well organised & displayed in its various sections. The prices were clearly marked on stock and were waaaay cheaper that what we pay in NZ. I was stoked to find that as a senior citizen I could have a third off because it was Wednesday. Staff were awesome. There was a verbal warning over the loud speaker system to keep your purse by you at all times as there had been a theft earlier in the day.
This place has a large selection of womens clothing, including plus size area. If youre not in a rush I would recommend spending a couple hours in the store, with so many options you want to take your time to find great items. I only gave three stars because there were no clear signs separating the selection of clothing in the childrens department, the clothes and shoes werent many options. Will try again !
Salvation Army is one of our favorite stops. The deals are outstanding, and a lot of the stuff in the store are still in good shape. This is the nicest thrift store I have ever been in. They have color dot sales on different days of the week, and they have a shop card if you spend a certain amount of money you get 30% off a shopping spree.
I love this Salvation Army! They always have a nice selection of things reasonably priced. The staff is nice too. And I love Wednesdays being a senior citizen. Today I got 25% off of my clothes for an upcoming trip. Cant beat that!
Love it here, they even put waist measurements on mens tags!, and sheet sizes. Above and beyond most.
Went there to look for some cheap shelf speakers and found some beat up with 69T on the back and figured they were 6.99 . So I went to pay and she said they were 69.99!!! Unbreakable! They were not something collectable just old. Way to much money 💰
When ever I visit this store, I was never disappointed. Good product, I should rather say excellent merchandise. The utensils, crockeries, furniture, sports items.... No matter what, you get quality products for really great prices.They always maintain certain standards for their items to be back on shelf from donation counter. Such a beautiful place and happy for what they doing. God bless.
I went to shop at the Rochester Hills Salvation Army store on a Saturday morning with my mother-in-law. When we got to the store, there was a sign in the front advertising the specials for the day. They were offering 6 items for $5.00 on all white tagged items. We were very excited to start shopping and look for the great deals we could find.As we were shopping we noticed there were very little white tag items. As I made my way to the back of the store I noticed several Salvation Army employees going through each rack of clothes and removing all the white tagged items and taking them to the back of the store for employees only. At that time another customer had noticed the same thing. We had made comments that we need to shop faster before all white tagged items were removed. I was appalled at what I observed.To advertise a special and then remove all items that are part of that special is very devious, deceitful, underhanded, dishonest, sneaky and the list goes on. I have always donated many of my unwanted items to this store for quite a few years as I always thought Salvation Army was a Christian organization and the funds raised from donated items were being used for a Great cause. I will now research to find a different charity to donate to. I will also be filing a complaint with Salvation Army headquarters.The Salvation Army Mission StatementThe Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.I am so disappointed that this store does not practice their own Mission statement.

I guess the clothing selection is good; the musty smell seems more pungent in this store than other secondhand stores so I avoid. Higher end items are usually nicely displayed at the front of the store and in seasonal displays to the side.The electronics section is very small and limited to a few pieces of lighting and 10 kitchen appliances like Foreman grills. At the front of the store is a collection of decent-looking pictures and wall hangings as well as a mid-size furniture collection. The furniture is pretty typical of what youd expect to find in a resale shop although every time I go in, I see at least one very good quality piece.Many have commented on the high prices and I do not disagree completely. I think this store really focuses on the brand of an item to determine pricing and that is unfortunate. Ive seen brand new still-tagged Honors and George (Target and Walmart brands respectively) shirts priced at $5 or $7 and faded, old, very worn shirts from Gap or Banana Republic for $7-10.The childrens toys are not well laid-out with a majority of them stacked on top of the clothing racks. If youre short, good luck with that. Of course I understand that if all the toys were lower to the ground, the kids would make a major mess. There are some good deals in the kids clothing if you have the patience and strength to push your way through overcrowded racks.The housewares are organized by color and really unreasonably priced overall, in my opinion. For example, I went recently in search of a set of drinking glasses and some additional coffee mugs. A set of 6 plain glasses that were not designer was priced at nearly $6 and coffee mugs...used coffee mugs...were $2-3 each. Basic mugs, not oversized latte stoneware or anything fancy. Are these prices unreasonable? Yes, in my opinion they are. I can purchase brand new plain glasses at the dollar store for the same price and can get plain coffee mugs there as well. Were not talking Waterford here.I have found the staff to be pleasant most of the time, usually very busy. It is a good selection but this isnt the kind of place where $10-20 is going to get you too far.
Good selection of stuff. Prices are beginning to creep up though. Face it....if people can get the same stuff new in the box at Walmart, they probably will. EDIT 11/18. Prices have definitely gone up to the point where it makes little sense to shop here save for looking for something unique. Saw something today thats for sale at Harbor Freight BRAND NEW for less than they wanted for the same thing lightly worn. I get that its now a business rather than a charity but unsold overpriced stuff yeilds nothing.
Extremely long lines, poor system for drop off. Inefficient with up to 5 people working on one car. Incomplete job, left multiple items in my trunk that I didnt discover until after I left due to social distancing.
Pretty well organized. Clothes were even sorted by color. My problem is how much the charge for things they got for free. I saw a set of glasses the same as a set I own, theirs had a missing glass and they had it priced the same as what I paid for them new. Usually seems pretty picked over. Ive had better luck at yard sales.
One of the more over priced Salvation Army’s in Michigan. Asked the manager for a better price on a $30 shawl that had holes and a large blood stain on it and she took $3 off. Stingy. If your looking for a deal try a different location.
This store always has new management raising prices and changing policies. The latest is they no longer accept frequent shopper punch cards for 35% off. Their prices are very high anyway.
Waited in line for over an hour to donate only to be turned away 5 cars from the front because they stop taking donations at 2pm. No signage posted about it and wasn’t notified when I had called when I first got in line. At the very least, one would think they’d finish taking donations from the people in line and put something up to let others know that they’re done for the day. Thanks for wasting my time.

Very over priced! I was shocked!$16.99 for a used tonka truck (sandbox sized) I could buy a new one for that.The clothing isnt much less than you would find at a marshalls or tj maxxAlso childrens clothing should be organized by size not color it takes way to long to sort through when the 3months - 3 years are completely mixed together
I was having an awful day and was so sad, but the cashier- Harriet was the only thing that managed to snap me out of it. Its so cheesy but just thinking about how kind and wonderful she was is making me tear up! Lol!
Worst thrift shop Ive ever been to. And I go to a lot.Restock racks block isles, I had to push 3 out of the way so I could get through with my cart. If an aisle isnt clogged with restock racks then there is certainly a lone cart or 2 waiting for you to move it out of your way. Its near impossible to get around the store. And there didnt seem to be anything worth the effort to manuevre through so I left with 1 toy my daughter picked out. And I wont be back.Also, as others have said the prices are ridiculous! If its name brand you can get it new on the sale rack for that price or cheaper at the store its originally sold at. The Clinton Township and Sterling Heights SA are much nicer and cleaner but similar pricing.
I called to see if this Salvation Army had any luggage. The woman who answered was very rude and unpleasant. I was out on hold, I waited about 45 minutes before she answered again. Once she got back on the line she was completely out of breath. After asking my question again (because she forgot) she told me she had just swallowed an entire load and she cannot speak very well then hung up. I am sorry, but if your employees are swallowing loads of laundry....you guys have a serious HR issue on your hands. That’s not healthy. Will never be coming here again unless I need a toaster oven.
I have been going here for years and its by far my favorite one. Great prices and sorted well. Bought our master bedroom dresser w/ mirror here along with a great like new couch. Love this salvation army!Bought my wedding dress that looks brand new from here for $40. Baby onsies 69 cents to a dollar. Maternity clothes mostly around $6! Nice dish set for $40 (8 place settings including tea cups) Those are all huge scores if you ask me. For those complaining its too expensive Id love to know where you shop thats cheaper. haha
I stopped in last week looking for jewelry I could use in my craft. Couldnt believe the prices, extremely high!! $22 for a used beaded necklace. Are you kidding me!! There was more beaded jewelry than Id ever seen in 1 Salvation store. Fact of it I couldnt afford it. They must have forgotten FREE DONATION!! SO DISAPPOINTED!!!! STOP TRYING TO GET TOP $$$$$ MAYBE YOU WONT BE SITTING ON SO MUCH!!! I will NEVER go back!!!
Are once unique rochester hills salvation army have turned into a flea market because of the change in management. It used to be completely unique compared to every other salvation army with hidden gem all through the store with a home feel too it and now it is completely gone. Over priced merchandise with a big city flea market feel. I am completely bummed out with the changes. And mark my words this store will go from the #1 grossing store in America to a middle of the pack location.
Well stocked.Very organized.Buzy Buzy....Every row every parking spot was taken.Plus the cash register lines had 3 open, yet the line was 10 deep.Lots of great deals in the mens hoodies and sweaters department for 6 bucks and under.Todays find was the Michigan basketball jersey $7.
The place is messy and dirty. There prices have raised for no reason. You might as well pay full price on a brand new item of clothing and know you can return it get your money back or get an exchange. There books are dirty, dusty, they smell and are badly used you can rarely find a very good book. Even one time I think I noticed mold on a bottom of a book that I wanted to buy. Also where they have their CDs and DVDs are not in great shape are damaged meaning scratches on then. And there are times that there are no dvds or cds in the cases.
Its not very clean and very few registers open. They now charge to get bags for your items but lately wont bag them. Honestly all the other S.A.s in the area are much more organized, cleaner, and better priced.
This is a nice, large store but the prices are VERY high for a thrift store. I agree with other posts that mention you can buy new items for nearly the same price. I have found some nice items and good deals, but am usually disappointed.
I like to shop at thrift stores often recycling is always on my mind. but in the past year the prices have gone sky high. it is only worth buying them on a holiday when the clothes are half off. but then you have to fight the big crowds and sometimes its just not worth it. the furniture prices are outrageous I frequent other Salvation Armys and their furniture prices are not nearly as high as this store. you are getting all these items for free . if you lower the prices maybe you could sell more in give people a break in this economy.. most of your prices target can beat and Walmart why buy used if you can get it new for cheaper or the same price

I dont know what happend to this store but the staff at the check out has taken a drastic turn for the worst. If you plan to purchase anything from this location, plan on standing in line for a very long time because a couple of the new cashiers care more about chatting with the customers about their social lives than getting them checked out. They have no concern for the customers who are waiting in line.I was there last night before closing. two of the four registers closed down before cashing out the rest of the customers in the store.There were two customers in front of me, two cashiers open with a customer and I waited for 20 minutes to hear the words next customer. It took the cashier another 5 minutes to process my purchases I held in my hands, no cart. The second chatty cashier declared how she was going to go lock the door now. I spoke up and said, please do not lock me in.As I stood in line for the 20 minutes waiting I had to hear the random conversations these two cashiers were having with their customers and watched how slow they were moving and all I could think of was WOW, are these people volunteers or do they actually get paid for this?What a bummer because I have made very large donations from my company to Salvation Army as well as have made very large purchases from them to help people in need.
Love it! getting 5 for 5 deals on fri. my mom is in nursing home and it makes it affordable for me to help her with her clothing needs
Several times recently, I have dropped off many donations, each and every time, the employees at the drop off site have been rude and behave as though they are doing you a great favor by taking your items. Shameful and disappointing. After reading numerous posts regarding this same issue, Ill take my quality donations to a place that will appreciate them and treat people with respect.
Best thrift store in the Metro Detroit area! Since its 25 min away, we go once a year. Its massive and perfect for finding furniture, home goods, clothing, and shoes. They have daily specials and weve consistently gotten amazing deals here.Our latest bargain find was an EUC 1967 Fisher Console hifi stereo at 25% off. The lines can be long here but its often worth the wait for the deals you get for mostly quality brands.
Finished shopping with a friend, decided to have one last look around since it was our first time at this location. The woman told us the store was closing 20 minutes prior to it closing and that we needed to leave, that we werent even allowed to carry our bags or purses in the store. Then she started the vacuum and turned around very nasty like. I think her name was Michelle. I asked if she were a manager and she said yes, one of them. She had blonde frizzy hair and middle aged. Extremely rude behavior. We asked the lady at the register if carrying our bag and purses was against policy and she said no of course not. Apparently, that manager lady just wanted us to leave for some reason.
Great prices and discounts to senior over 55 in age, emt, police, military on certain days. Well organized. Lots of fitting rooms and a bathroom acessible on premise.Designer clothes and shoes offered. Great furniture, bikes, shoes, boots, electronics, jewerly.

This is hands down the worst Salvation Army I’ve ever been to. The space is huge but it’s filled with trash. Things are just strewn around. The shelves are always a mess and cluttered with garbage. There’s always a giant line to check out and it’s rarely worth doing that anyway since everything’s picked over.
Store has a lot of great things, awesome prices & good sales. But the line wait every time is crazy. Just last week it took 25 mins, three lines open with customers and there was only three ppl in front of me. Five staff just stand back there talking.
How is it that certain donations end up never being put out ? Like curtain rods or the good bikes or the shelfing my neighbor donated ? Watch the back of the store where the loading and unloading goes on and you will see where it all goes. Dam thiefs... Yea i said it and yes 3/4 of the employees have an attitude ...
Well organized store. Good prices with a lot of name brands. Will definitely be a return shopper.
Well the product was fine. But when then loaded my furniture a drawer slides out and broke. No apologies.
For sure the best variety of everything. Some items higher prices than expected. Best overall Salvation Army in metro Detroit.
The constant, blaring announcements by the staff and surprisingly high prices balance out with their tremendous selection. If you dont mind teenage girls screaming the days sales at you every five minutes -- or paying slightly-less-than-retail -- this may be worth your trip.

Horrible experience working with this Salvation Army. The store manager Emily is unreasonable and promotes the sell of non functioning electronics. I purchased a VCRs that didnt work and Emily would not allow me to exchange it for a different one. This Salvation Army offers a lot of merchandise but sells products that do not work with the intention of making profit. Making me think that the majority of their products are this way. Theyre suppose to be offering a helping hand where all theyre doing is helping themselves. Poor customer service and I will not be back.
Best place ever to go for a lot of things. Friendly people and the staff is great. Very clean inside. And the biggest Salvation Army in Michigan. Youll have lots of fun here :-)
The manager and staff were effective, helpful and customer oriented. Though it was packed for holiday shopping, it was a positive environment. Our find of the day, a dining room set!
Watching someone with a tablet googling how much something should be priced really made me leave. Resale stores used to be an affordable place to go, not here. Everything is priced like it’s Walmart, tj maxx and an antique store.
Terrible terrible service. The cashier refused to bag my items (since you now have to pay for bags which she didnt mention). I asked for a bag and the cashier threw her hands up in the air and refused. I will never step foot in that store again. So sad for a business based solely off donations.
This place ALWAYS smells like dirty clothes. Sucks that they dont wash their donated items. Staff isnt always helpful or friendly, so going to this location is hit or miss. I do appreciate the emergency responders discount on Tuesdays I believe.
Great selection, good deals when you can do 5/$5. Overall, prices are higher than they should be compared to other thrift stores.
Shopping on Mar 29 2017 8:30PM. laid away apple laptop and went to shop for more items. Manager sold this item to another person. Apparently she has her favorite shoppers which she treated special way.Refused give her name.
Go there all the time best store for everything other than tools in my opinion. Prices amazing. Service exelent. Come out with desighner close for cheap and then donate them back later get your tax reduction and get new close when the old ones dont fit
Now I remember why I dont going to the store Rochester Hills, Troy. The Prices are way too high for donated stuff. Just ridiculous

Great service and a HUGE variety of good quality thrifts. U might have to do some deep searching, but overall a great experience (bring friends so u can chatter about your finds)!
Stopped in today to make a Donation in the line was wrapped around the building. I sat in line For 1/2 hour. Its gonna make a drop off I suggest giving yourself plenty of time and bring your patience

Why is the manager telling the associates to take down all the green tags down putting them in the back room so when are there peoples coming to find the 5for 5 there’s nothing to buy. It’s bad for store and bad for the business. I was very disappointed and other women shopping there were too.I won’t be coming there anymore and other shoppers will not either.😡👎🏻👎🏻
People are friendly. Great selection. I highly recommend this store. Reusing perfectly good clothing is good for the planet and the money goes to a great cause.
Lots of inexpensive clothing, shoes, entertainment, furniture, and other items for sale. Many items on discount too. Lots of free parking on-site. Staff were friendly.

I visited today for the first time. There was a great selection and well organized. There was plenty of space to look through the selection and not that crowded.

Way to expensive for donated items ..staff is always rude ....Never can find any tags that have specials it’s like they remove them the night before so you can’t find the deals that day

Good evening, am very sad to not give you your five stars we had a really bad experience at this store a lady at the counter was treating us very badly with a bad attuide she did not let the other employe check us out we ask why and she didnt give us a reason she was taking the prices off the clothes a costumer had before us that was the reason we did not want her to check us out and the line was long because she didnt let the other employees check the other costumers out i had really bad comstumer service.

The biggest Salvation Army Ive ever seen! Lots of sofas, housewares, art work, and of course clothing. You can spend hours in this place.

What was once a premier store is now a filthy disgusting place. I see the cars lined up in Rochester to donate their goods but everything in the store seems to be pricy junk.
This make the third time I have tired to donate at this location and the third time I have been yelled at by the person taking donations. I am sorry I do not want someone I dont know trying to figure out what is and isnt donations in my truck and or back seat. I donate at least once a month with a car load looks like I will be taking them somewhere else.
Went to drop off some things today and they are open Tuesday- Saturday from 10:00 - 2:00...Would be nice if that was posted or updated on the website!!!
This is one of the best sa locations to go to. Thry run daily deals on certain color tags. They are big and have a lot of selection.

2022-03-03This store used to be nice with great prices. Now you cant buy clothing because the fitting rooms are not open, prices here have skyrocketed from normal yard sales prices for used things to overpriced. Prices are close to retail as if the items are new. If everyone would just stop shopping here or at least stop purchasing clothing they might at least open the fitting rooms and make them usable again. You can go to any retail store in the area and use a fitting room to make sure the clothing you want to purchase fits well. This place has yellow tape across the fitting room doors as if its a crime scene and chairs stuck under the doors. It looks so tacky and trashy. Just open them and clean up this store. I stopped buying clothes because when they dont fit, after driving home to try them on and then having to drive back to return them, you cant get a refund. They only give you a store credit. My suggestion is everyone STOP shopping here, take the business away and hopefully they will make the badly needed changes. Whomever has raised the prices here to retail level for a used, garage sale condition item needs to be FIRED.

2021-11-23Long line. Slow workers. Rude. Tell you to leave before 5 saying you wont make it in time even though it was 4:45 and 4 cars ahead of me. Work faster then! Dont need a tax slip and always closed on mondays for donations. Should have one line for tax donation slips and another line where people can dump their stuff quickly without documentation. Dont waste your time waiting in the line for over an hour, go to the mosque down the road they have a donation drop box. Simple, no line and still to a good cause!

2022-08-05This was always my favorite salvation army. Its big and has a good selection but the prices are out of control. I was absolutely shocked when I went today.This is no longer a place to find cool stuff for good prices. If you are poor, dont shop here. You can buy new for cheaper at Walmart or target.The lines are really long too. Not worth it anymore

2022-05-23I have visited this store countless times and gotten such great things however my experience as a customer doesn’t seem to be important to management. First of all, any time I have visited this store on any day I have waited at least a half hour to check out. Today especially I saw the manager sit on the phone watching the line get bigger and bigger until it was at the back of the store before she even came down to help the poor guy left to check all of us out. I have read reviews from 3 years ago stating almost the same thing. When will we be valued as a customer at your store? Until then, I will visit other stores in the area instead.

2022-07-03It was the worst experience I have ever been through. The cashier, he was so rude. I found a product that was damaged I was going to refix it. It was a teddy bear. I love sewing so it didnt look like a problem for me. I was still willing to pay a couple dollars for it. But since it had some damage to it, I didnt want it to be over price. It only had a tear on the arms. He wouldnt even let me buy it. He said he cant sell damage items. I knew he was lying to me. I already bought damage items before. He threw it out in front of me. I ask him if I could just take it since thay were going to threw it out. And he said no. It was only a plush. It was so upsetting. He was just rude the entire time. He had such a bad attitude. This was the worst customer service ever. I am honestly a very sensitive person so yes I cried when I left the store. I have really bad anxiety. With everything going on these days you shouldnt be treating people like this. I really do hope something does get done about this. But Im not coming back. I really dont recommend going here.

2022-07-27Lyn is extremely rude and denied me an item that i was trying to purchase. It was a cute little brown mug. It said 1.99 and a nunber 4 beside it. She explained its a set of four for 1.99 and i tried telling her that it wae the only one. She didnt believe me i guess. Very rude and unprofessional

2022-07-11Arrived at 6:40pm to find locked doors. I walked through the exit and was yelled at rudely they aren’t checking out any more people and they are leaving promptly at 7pm. Maybe you should adjust you business hours? Won’t be back as I looked around a bit and everything is overpriced and junk.
