The UPS Store in other cities:
I’ve been to this store dozens of times for the past 5 years. I don’t remember any negative encounters. The staff is always professional and courteous. It does get busy sometime at this age of e-commerce, but in terms of wait time it’s light year faster than USPS on Green Rd…
Really disappointed by the rudeness I witnessed here. The clerk barked at one customer and tossed anothers boxes several feet across the room after he left them on the counter, already labeled. On top of that, a customer entered without a mask (in the midst of the Omicron surge) and nothing was said to stop him. Try instead the CVS across the street, which also services UPS orders.
This place is amazing. I appreciate all the help every time I’ve been in there. I admire the way they help as best they can with the limitations that have been put in place. It’s too bad others can’t see it or understand that Amazon’s free returns don’t include the packaging all the time. I saw quite a few people in front of me be snippy to the employees as if it was their fault. Maybe take that up with Amazon? These guys are just doing their job. Keep up the amazing work!
I live down the street from this ups store and I’ve gone a few times, including today, which will be my last time ever going to this location. I’ve tried to like this location since it’s only 3 minutes away from my house but sadly I rather drive the extra miles (canton location) to get excellent customer service there. Honestly, all the few times I’ve gone to this ups Plymouth rd location I have gotten extremely rude services with nasty attitudes from employees that work there. I’m not sure if it’s the same person that i have this problem with but it’s like as many times as you try to get help and ask questions the more irritated they get, with a simple task that can be resolve within seconds they will make it difficult for you for no reason. I wish I can give this location a 0 or no stars at all for the awful experience I have had here!
I went to this store on 6/18/21 to return an item to Amazon for my friend. Since my friend has’t received the refund from Amazon, I went to the store this morning hoping to track where the item is. According to the guy, all they did was scanning Amazon return barcode and dropping the item into Amazon box, they have no clue (no way to track) where the item is located now. Calling Amazon is the only thing he told us. He said the store is not part of UPS, no way to track, and repeatedly said “call Amazon”. When I track UPS, it shows “create label “ only. I wonder if the item has ever been dropped into Amazon boxes in the store. Unfortunately, the guy refused or was not able to check.
Im glad I dont live in Ann Arbor! This UPS store has been wretched more often than not for prepaid packages. The owners attitude shows in his responses. We charge for our services? If Amazon does not pay for returns as the owner claims, that is the fault of UPS corporate and of those foolish enough to buy a UPS Store franchise. The point of a prepaid package is that it is FREE to return as far as the customer is concerned. Trying to charge $2 for a piece of tape is just shocking. As for the weird guy who will not make eye contact, Ive actually experienced him. Dont know if hes the owner. He behaved psychotically when COVID came around. As I am only occasionally in the area, I have resolved to use another location. If you are stuck with this one, buy some packing tape and just drop off the box. You already should have the tracking information. Finally, the issues with this store have nothing to do with race. That is too easy of an excuse.
Im going to avoid using this location in the future. I try my best to give people the benefit of the doubt if they are having a bad day. I also get that its currently a pandemic as I write this review, so things are stressful. However, on a recent visit, I was treated with much impatience. It was unwarranted, especially since I was kind, patient, and friendly towards the employee. I asked a simple question and was met with rudeness.I see others who have written negative reviews here have had similar issues when bringing items in for Amazon returns. I came prepared and I was the only customer in the store at the time. There was no reason to be so rude, curt, and abrupt.I even had to ask for my tracking numbers. In the end, my Amazon return turned out fine. However, one of the tracking numbers was wrong from UPS here. Both of my items being returned were sent in one package. I had to take the extra step to chat with Amazon to find out what happened. I did have to pay a $1.16 fee for a padded envelope. I hope that it was the one used to ship my two items together, haha! The one return didnt have a fee. Luckily, both of my items were related to the same return. (I was sent a replacement that was also wrong for an item).During the process of this, I had emailed customer service here to express my disappointment at the service quality I received. No one ever replied to me. You see, they dont care. If I ever need to ship items for personal use, I will not use UPS, at least not this location. I will use the U.S. Postal Service or FedEx.The same day I had this negative experience here at this UPS Store, I had to drop off a pre-paid item at FedEx Kinkos, just down the street from this UPS Store. The employee was kind, patient, and helpful. This UPS Store location seems to not see you as a real customer if you are doing a drop off or pre-paid. Thats very strange to me. Why have a business (franchise in this case) if youre not in it to provide a service to others? Arent you in business to serve others? As customers we just want basic respect. I never am one to expect any special treatment. I just want the basic level of respect and service. I myself cant really help that Amazon uses UPS for its returns. I have no choice. I definitely will drive out of my way to visit another UPS Store location in the future though. I really dont think its fair to be unkind to customers. Maybe this location will learn how to provide kind service in the future. I wont ever return...not that they care.
Not going back to this UPS Store again. Needed the shipping label printed. The guy offered me to rent a computer and print it myself ... for $4.50. There is something wrong with this business - using the self serve print stations in Staples and other UPS Stores cost you $0.15 per page. There is a CVS pharmacy across the street that has a UPS Access point - people are nice and polite there.
I needed to return an Amazon purchase. The staff was treating me like a plague. It is during COVID and I understand it. But why don’t they set up screens like other places do. Instead, they asked me to step forward and backward, forward and backward. Also, they want to charge me 5 dollars to seal the box or I have to buy a whole role of tape and tape it up myself. When I return Amazon items to other UPS stores, they charge me nothing even when I don’t have a shipping box. Ridiculous!
We have been going to this UPS store for the past 18 or 19 years. My husband and I are there frequently. These guys are amazing. They are friendly and helpful. I always enjoy going in because I know they will be able to help me with with what I need. I have never had a problem of any type with this location.
Boy I wish I had the opportunity to see these reviews before dropping off my Amazon return while ago. Theyre all spot on about the BS attitude of the tall, balding duck (insert rhyming explative here) that treats you like dirt. I left workout a receipt because he said I was all set, but then I went back in because I didnt feel right leaving without one and he tells me he cant print one after the fact. He was rude and condescending. My stuff better not get lost.
Charged me 7 dollars for printing one Amazon return label and a bubble envelope packaging!!! This is more ridiculous as they charge 1 dollar for a single email I send to them, 3 dollars for 30s of computer use by their employee, and $1.15 for just printing one page! 7 dollars could be a whole salary for some Southern Asia workers, which as for them is 1 min of work.
I was unable to print a return label since my printer died. I asked the employee if he could do so and was told there would be a $4.95 charge to print one label!!!! I then went to the FedEx on Plymouth Road, again needing to print a label and explained my printer wasnt working and asked if they could print a label for me. They said sure and there was NO charge! Will be using FedEx as much as possible and avoiding this UPS.
I dropped a package off 3 weeks ago which was an Amazon return. When I have used other store, they ALWAYS give a receipt and ship very fast. Even during the current COVID-19 situation. The staff was extremely rude. I did was not given a tracking number/receipt. I have called the store several times and no one answers. I know it was not returned because Amazon still hasnt received it. This package contains a VERY expensive item.I have called corporate to report this store. I hope they get what they deserve.
The man who is usually behind the counter is extremely rude, to me and everyone I’ve seen him interact with. He seems to despise the customers, and I’ve watched him be very condescending to people whose first language is not English. I would not come here, except the next closest UPS Store is miles away. Might start doing the drive anyway just so that I don’t dread dropping off my Amazon returns.
Please read the other reviews and do not come to this store. The owner/employee is extremely rude and unhelpful. I lost over $100+ for an item that wasn’t shipped on time from the stores end. The best way I can summarize the experience you will have when visiting this store is by one word “horrible”.
Like other people said, the staffs in this store are extremely rude, not one, I mean all of them, not sure why, maybe not paid well compared to other stores? They told me that if I wanted a receipt for a prepaid package I’d better go to another store. I asked why I could not get a receipt. They said because they don’t earn money from prepaid packages.
Charlie here was awesome! He explained to me why He couldn’t accept my 2 Amazon returns and helped me call them. He was patient and friendly and chatted with me while I spent an hour in the store talking to 5 different Amazon workers, none of which could help me. When I came back the next day because Amazon finally decided to assist me, he was happy to see I was able to get my issue resolved and friendly again! I appreciate his awesome customer service and would totally come back to this store again!
The store has different opening hours than what is listed on google or their website. Showed up today, only to see a paper sign saying they close at 5:30. We are all supposed to be limiting the amount of time we spend outside of our homes, and UPS cannot get its act together enough to post accurate store hours. I was not the only customer surprised by this, as others were walking up only to find the place closed. When it IS open, the employees at this location are always grumpy, and you have to ask them to give you a receipt. If you do not get a receipt and they lose your package (which they do) you are out of luck.Pack your items well - I’ve seen employees here throw packages across the room, for no apparent reason other than (as noted above) their sour attitude.Dreadful place.
Just tried to do to returns 1 to Zappos one to Amazon which are supposed to be free ,UPS is supposed to do everything. Short brown haired guy wanted to charge me $2 to tape the box . He said he wouldnt do anything unless we paid for tape how can that be possible? He is always a rude rude person I dont know why UPS keeps him employed. And Amazon and Zappos really need to straighten this location out because I wont keep buying from Zappos and Amazon if I have to pay for tape its supposed to be free returns.
Again, these folks defy the prosaic concept of remaining in business by providing good customer service - they’re around because they’re just aren’t other options. My wife arrived right around their closing time with a sealed/labeled Amazon package for return - it would have required zero effort to process - and the guy who had just locked the door stood there and just looked at her until she left.
Unnecessarily rude during this fake CV19 faux crisis that has a recovery rate of 99.7% - comparable to the common cold. But that does not prevent them from treating everyone as if we were walking incubators of the bubonic plague. I have passed by a few times but refuse to wait outdoors in the hot sun only to go in and have the clerk jump away when I place the item to be mailed on the desk.ADDENDUM: 10/19/20Just read all the reviews about Amazon returns and will add that I too have had the experience of not being given a receipt when returning items to Amazon. But I have also had this experience when returning other items. The most recent was the return of a $600 vacuum cleaner to the manufacturer.
I just called to see how much they charge to print a one page color copy from my phone, via email if I come in. He said it was $.39 for the cooy and $3.00 for the computer use. So, that is $3.39 for one color copy. I will go to another store where I know they only charge $.69.
Looking over the Google reviews, seeing that 5 stars are mostly from white people and 1 stars are mostly from people of color already says a lot. I went to this location to drop off an Amazon package, and asked for a receipt. This is something that normally takes 10-20 seconds. At this location, though, the white male attendant (called MALCOLM) took his time with another customer who had a complicated package to mail, and easily spent over 10 minutes with her until I asked if he can just kindly give me my receipt. His response was: Im attending our paid customer here. Youre dropping off a package and we are not making any money out of you, so you dont count. Just wow! Other troubling notes: as others also mention, if you need to put tape over your package, you either pay or, in my case, have to buy one of their expensive tapes. To print one page, you have to first rent their computer and pay for at least 30 minutes of use, and then print your page yourself, and also pay for the printer! In summary, these people are rude, steal your money, and are possibly racist.
I will never do any business here. The worker was condescending and acted as if he was irritated because I was trying to ship 2 separate items. He was not helpful at all. Rotten attitude all the way around. There was a young woman who came and waited for about 3 minutes, while he was packing boxes. He didnt acknowledge her in any manner. She waited patiently, and after about 3 minutes, she took her package and walked out. She was a Black woman and so am I. We both watched as he took great care of his White customers and did so expeditiously. Im not drawing conclusions. Im stating facts. They wont EVER have to worry about me coming back. Theyre the PITS!
Never shipping with UPS again. Sent some fragile and non fragile items that arrived ALL dented/broken. I tried to get my money back and couldnt get any help...from this store, from ups customer service and definitely none from the corporate office. Apparently, none of them are reliable unless iOS packs it (wish I had known that before sending my package). Save your time and money and use a more trusted service like FedEx. Wish I could rate this zero stars but it wont allow me ugh
They charge $2 to slap a piece of tape across the top of your box. The tape, nor the employees time costs that much. It takes 10 seconds to tape your box and $0.01 worth of tape. Basically they are making $1,200/hour off the public for this. Instead of ripping off your customers, how about you just have Amazon charge us an extra $0.10 for our return. Then I wont have to hear your store manager complain about it.
Ive been to this location a few times and the other bad reviews pretty much sum it up. The staff doesnt seem particularly interested in serving customers. From outside the store, it looks like theyre closed because the lights are all off and no one is at the front desk. They refuse to let customers use tape - an issue that I havent encountered at any other UPS or FedEx location. Today I asked for a receipt and they would not provide one, claiming that the internet is down.
Tobin the owner is the counter person as well. Terrible customer service. $2 to tape your box shut. Wants to charge for everything he can think of.He will charge to hold the door for you. Ill never come back here again. Not all ups stores are this way. Go somewhere else.
This franchisee is extremely rude. If you bring in a prepaid package he wants nothing to do with you. This happened multiple times. I have been to surrounding ups stores and never experienced this unprofessional customer service. If you have the chance to go to another location save yourself.
I come by here frequently at differing times and the few people ive talked too are very nice and understanding, for people complaining about broken/damaged packages, that isnt the stores fault... thats on UPS as a whole, no need to leave a 1 star rating for something beyond their control...
Just a great experience at the store this past Saturday. Malcom ( I guess, he was the store manager) was very polite, helpful and suggested things just like the way I wanted my mail to be handled. I wish I had not gone to any of the USPS or fedex locations previously, but instead gone to this store.
Paid $570 to ship two packages, specified with fragile care. Both computers came to eBay buyers damaged, if both of them werent computer savvy Id be under $8,500 because of this stores gross negligence and price gouging.Filed a chargeback, this place will not get my business again.
Main guy that works here is wildly rude and doesn’t belong in customer service. Won’t make eye contact but will make snide remarks under his breath. I live right next to this place and won’t go here anymore... wouldn’t trust them with a box of any value. He seems like a waiter that would spit in your food.
Incredibly rude service. I tried dropping off a package that had an incorrect label, and instead of helping me understand what was wrong the associate repeated This cannot be shipped over and over when I tried speaking. It was disappointing. I took my package to another location which answered my question immediately.

2022-04-23Parked in 15 minute slot; took only 15 seconds.Had an Amazon return and made sure to come with 1) the original packing (undamaged box it came in) and 2) the shipping code (ready to scan on my phone), and it was the smoothest and fastest experience Ive ever had in a shipping store.Amazon emails the receipt; dont ask for one—you wont get one.

2022-03-24I had multiple Amazon drop offs. Luckily, the gentlemen at the store were kind enough to help me sort out which ones needed packaging and which didn’t as Amazon didn’t make it very clear. The workers were obviously busy but still helped even though they aren’t Amazon employees. I appreciate their hard work and kindness.

2022-04-21Printer doesnt work as of 4/20/22. They said it hasnt been working for the last 3-4 months, stops working every other day, and they have to call the computer repair company. Bummed that I was told on the phone I could use their printer, but then when I drove there it didnt work. Also notable: $3 fee to use their computer to print (same if you just email it because the employee has to use the computer). Feels a bit like a cash grab.Ive also had an employee tell me they couldnt use their tape on a package even though the instructions were to bring it in unpackaged. Had to buy an expensive roll.

2021-12-28Such a terrible and unprofessional location. All of the other reviews about this place are true, the two uneducated men who run it are so rude it’s unbelievable. I don’t know how this place is in business. They will try and charge you for a free Amazon return here and try to rip you off on false business. You can tell this place is trash just by reading their responses to reviews that they receive and I’m sure they’ll write a snippty one to this review as well. I can see why others resorted to foul language here.Do not go to this location. Go to the one in Ypsilanti or somewhere else so your packages get sent out properly and by competent, kind people. Seriously, just such a bad location and I’ll be calling regional managers about this store. Only go here if you want your day to be ruined.

2022-04-01I received the best customer service today. Had to change the shipping method on a package I had dropped off earlier. The gentleman who helped me was extremely understanding and accommodating. Thank you!

2022-07-20Worst costumer service. They lost my package and they just hang up. Malcolm should improve his costumer services skills.

2022-05-23I tried to ship multiple packages here and they were consistently “lost” or refused. Avoid this location. The staff are unhelpful and exude a lack of caring.

2022-04-17Arrive 10 min before close on Saturday and doors were already lock. Worker was inside and kept shaking head no implying that they wouldn’t take my package.*update: it’s Sunday and they are close for Easter. Another waste of a drive

2021-05-09This is the only UPS store I will go to for shipping and printing services. The guys that work here are friendly and go out of their way to help me (and others) save money while still getting my package there safely. They seem to put up with a lot of customers blaming them for Amazon stuff and they dont even work for them! I have no qualms with going here and recommend it to anyone who wants an honest, friendly interaction.
