The UPS Store in other cities:
This staff is patient and understanding. I’m incredibly frustrated with my Amazon return options, not the fault of UPS. Between one staff member and the owner, they helped me figure out how and why 3 items had to be returned 3 different ways. I was used to simply walking in and having a QR code for them to scan, that is changing, beware of your Amazon.Despite signs, and joking that I make signs for a living that no one reads, they helped through emailing a label, and getting a package out the door. Did I want to pay $5 for that? No, but again I blame Amazon. This store has provided me with nothing but exemplary customer service.
Long lines with mostly Amazon returns. Every employee happy and engaging to every customer! Refreshing to see that today! One customer was not happy because they had a lot of Amazon returns and waited…. I said beats the Post Office and waiting and getting rude employees. We laughed! But they ROCKED IT with every customer today!
Huge shout out to DAN at this 14th Street UPS locationHe went ‘over and above’ yesterday, looking through massive stacks of boxes for a package I had mislabeled.Thankfully he found it and I was saved a monumental amount of stress and grief!!!Thank you again Dan for saving the day.
From leaving me condescending voicemails about not answering my phone to returning to sender for no invoice even though the commercial invoice is located ONLINE.. This is by far the worst UPS Ive ever had the misfortune of entering. Apparently, they function as if theyre in the dark ages and dont understand that invoices can be stored online. After explaining to the manager over the phone that once it gets to warehouse house, customs has access to invoices online, he said oh okay, Ill send it to warehouse, and then returned to sender instead. I have mailed thousands of packages via UPS with online invoices and not once have I ever had this happen until coming to this store. Spare yourself the time and headache and go to a different location.
Was there yesterday. Very friendly staff working. Super helpful, clean and organized. They have done some great improvements it seems every time I visit to get supplies or shipping. I appreciate the changes. Single line service for social distancing is great! So many customers in past we’re jumping in front of people and rude about it. Like really? Be patient and be serviced like the rest of the customers. Thank you for making this improvement.
Friendly and helpful! Found it very clean unlike most UPS or USPS locations. Newer employees seemed being trained by owner was great to see and positive attitudes and smiles all around!! He was very patient, friendly and detailed. All were very engaging and supportive to each other.Thank you for a nice experience and great to see employees that seem to enjoy what they do!
On Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 12:00 PM I was in the UPS store and experienced a very uncomfortable situation. When I entered the store, there was a customer being helped and the woman helping her kindly asked what I was in for. I told her one of my packages was all set, but I had a barcode on my phone that needed to be scanned and a label printed for my other package. She politely told me to go down to the next register and I’d be helped in a moment. Right as I put my packages on the counter a lady was crouching down underneath the register working on the scanning device. She did not give any eye contact or acknowledge me at all but rudely barked at her coworker Daryl saying, “Daryl come help this woman now”. Daryl pleasantly walked over and reiterated that I was in need of using the scanning device which this woman was working on. As she stood up I read her name tag and her name is Lisa. Lisa then, still not giving me any eye contact or acknowledge me, once again ordered Daryl and said “well use the scanner.” Her tone was very condescending, very rude and abrupt. Her body language was also remarkable, and not in a good way. She then turned and walked to the back where I didn’t see her again. Daryl was more than pleasant with me and was calm and professional the entire time. The whole situation did not sit well with me. Although Daryl gave me great customer service, I’m still very put off by Lisa’s behavior and how she talks to her fellow coworkers especially in front of other customers. Lisa was unprofessional and her behavior is unacceptable.I have been to this UPS store numerous times. Too many to count and Daryl has helped me majority of those times. He does not deserved to be treated or spoken to by his coworker this way.
Wow! This place was busy today and super friendly employees during a hectic shipping season! The owner has a great crew and has made remarkable improvements.in there and added a another order point. They really have turned that UPS Store around!! The manager cares and it shows.Thank you! Thank you!!J
I stop going to the 14th street store because of rude ladies working there. They always seemed to never smile and mean acting. I was there today and was glad to see smiling and engaging workers. I asked where the unfriendly ladies were? They said we have friendly ones and we’re here to make your experience a great one.The young man that waited on me was very pleasant and the owner was very nice. I was introduced to another employee working too.I’ll let my friends and family know about my visit.
Went here 3 months ago. Service was so rude and poor I left before completing my transaction. Went across town to the other UPS store on Garfield, so much better.Had to ship another package yesterday. 14th street store was closer but I read all the reviews to see if my experience was an anomaly. Nope, rude and unhelpful seems par for the course so I drove across town to avoid the hassle of poor service.Update 4/2019; came back to this store, due to proximity convenience, to mail a letter. I was wearing my employer name badge which has my position title on it. Store clerk inquired about what my position actually does. I gave her my elevator pitch and she responded my mocking the veracity of my pitch and the effectiveness of my work. Thankfully I love my job but since this store is 0 for 2, it seems pertinent to share what folks can expect from this store.
My girlfriend went to mail my mothers birthday gift and this older man working treated her like she was some criminal. He demanded her phone number, then said the number was not hers in his system, then who is the package for, and who is she to my mother. It was very disrespectful and the other employees looked shock. All we wanted was to mail a birthday gift, but instead we will never go there again and I will let everyone to do the same.
Curly brown-haired female, Michelle, has been consistently rude. I brought in a package that needed to be packed and shipped and was told the outrageous price it was going to cost, I explained I was going to look elsewhere and try to find my own box. I was then given an eye roll and then a good luck doing that, not in a polite tone and nothing else. I realize there are good and bad days but this has been the third time. I hope that if I do go back the attitudes are better.
I had an unfortunately poor experience at this UPS store location. Darryl was short with the other customers in the store while I waited in line and I was “helped” by him sending a single package. He refused to correct a mistake on the shipping label saying “it didn’t matter as long as the address was right” however it was the zip code and the name of the receiving party that were not correct. Darryl obviously needs a career change away from customer service so I hope he can find something he enjoys doing. As for the rest of the population, I suggest avoiding this ups location entirely.
Very rude and condescending. Went in there to ship an air soft pistol to be repaired. I tried to explain to them what it was but all they saw a man of color with a gun case and went off on me about it not being legal to ship Left there and went to the post office and shipped it with no problem.
I stopped going to this location because of employees and staff being rude and yelling at each other ir even customers. I went in and was pleasantly surprised on the change! Friendly and smiling staff, helpful and very nice new owner.I meet him and had a great conversation about my prior visits there and what a difference.Thank you and I’m glad I came back! It was poorly managed and operated. Always looked dirty and clutter everywhere. Not today and sure not any day now.I will be sharing this with friends and family that stopped going there because of that reason. Great meeting you and seeing new smiling employees!
The staff is really rude, uncommunicative, and unhelpful. I just needed to pick my package up, and they threw it on the counter without saying a word. I wasnt even sure whether I was supposed to take it yet or not, because the guy walked away and didnt say anything to me. The ladies who work there are really brusque too, other times Ive picked up packages. Its like they think Im personally responsible for ruining their lives, even though I am ALWAYS pleasant and cheerful and thank them, no matter how rude they are.
We utilize the UPS Store on Fourteenth Street weekly for our mailing needs as it is the closest location to our office. The staff at this location are ALL very rude EVERY time! Today after handing off my packages to be mailed, I asked how much it would be to mail an item. I wasn’t ready to mail it as I didn’t have the address on hand. I merely wanted an estimated price. The gentlemen was rude and kept repeating himself. I will mail my item elsewhere and I will consider driving out of my way weekly to mail packages.
Staff was rude and condescending, not helpful in the least. Looking at other reviews, this seems to be an ongoing issue. Management should seriously consider training the employees they already have in order to fix this problem, or look at replacing them with people who are friendly and actually have some people skills. I’ll be sure to take my business elsewhere next time I need something shipped, I would encourage anyone else to do the same.
It seems that the people who work there generally want to be somewhere else, and certainly not dealing with customers, very true statement. The store is clean, and organised, and I am sure they get things done quickly but the staff is very rude. I get it, you work in retail with customers and generally customers are horrible people however you have to have some hospitality. The same employees always seem to be there and always seem to be cranky. If I were you I would USPS or go to there other location. Sorry 14th street location, I gave you 4 chances! Hope the owner reads these and finds new staff.
I am currently traveling out of the country for an extended period of time and before I left, I set up my mailbox at the 14th Street UPS Store. Michele has especially been helpful with my renewals and all, even from abroad. But before I left, I had many dealings with them shipping paintings and doing other work including getting legal documents taken care of. I found them to be helpful and very knowledgeable about exactly what needed to be done. None of my packages were ever damaged, and my mail has been cared for with no complaints. Just sayin! Thanks to all of you!
I usually have a great experience at this store until Friday. I watched as the attendant yelled at each customer who walked through the door. My turn I gave her a slip of paper with the address, paid and left. When my niece didn’t receive her birthday gift I looked at my receipt and that crabby attendant sent it to the wrong address. So she was both nasty and incompetent.
Highly recommended. Excellent customer service by Michelle, Renee, Daryl, Susan. My recommendation is based on 7 years of continuous service (along with 20 years using other MBE/UPS stores). Renee made it easy to open an account over the phone (not so with other MBE) and for me takes time to explain my options and is polite repeating same thing multiple times over phone. Daryl often has my package in my hand before I reach the counter. Susan is friendly and promotes recycling. Michele keeps things rolling in what can be a very busy, stress-full business with factors out of her control. For me, theyve never lost a package and they keep them dry and secure. Phone-in mail check and 24hr key allows me to get my mail at my convenience. Copy and FAX service is very handy. I treat these hard working professionals with courtesy and respect and I get it back. Keep up the good work.
The staff was amazing and the epitome of professionalism. My rating is solely based on the cost incurred to scan a document as an attachment to an email that I sent to myself. I was charged $1 per page for a 36 page document. If I made a copy it would have cost .10 cents per page and I would have used paper and ink; going paperless and just using the internet cost 10 times that? I should have asked the cost before I scanned my document but never imagined this ups store would have charged well above the industry standard. Lesson learned on my part. I would go back to this store because the staff was amazing; I just would never, ever, use the scanner again to try to go paperless.
No help!!!! We had boxes that needed to either go into another box or get wrapped. Staff gave no help with coming up with a solution. Staff here either needs some training or find something else to do.Save your time and effort and go the the UPS Station on Hammond. Not only will you save money, but they are friendly and HELPFUL!
The woman Renee that people have said is rude and unattentive, still works there. I could not believe how unbelievably rude and impatient she was. She must run the place, thats the only reason I can think of as to why she hasnt been fired. I give this place 3 stars because the second time I went there someone else was working, and they were actually a polite, decent human being.
If I could rate this zero stars, I would. Ive repeatedly frequented this location because it was convenient. I just called the location to inquire about getting fingerprinted for a liquor license application. The woman that helped me, is the same woman that has been there for YEARS (possible owner), and has been consistently rude every single time. She acts as if you are the biggest inconvenience on the planet, no matter what transaction youre conducting. She talks to you like youre stupid. She repeatedly cut me off when I was trying to ask a question. I inquired if they did fingerprints, and she said, you have to call the 1-800 number to do a background check, and make an appointment for the fingerprints. I informed her that I didnt need a background check, my lawyer advised me that I just needed to get my fingerprints done. She cut me off mid sentence and told me I needed to call this company and set up an appointment so they can do the background check. I asked her why my lawyer would give me paperwork to go get fingerprinted, and was instructed to return it to him immediately afterwards sso ge could swnd it in, and she snapped, I have no idea!!Sges a MISERABLE human being, and its note than evident by her better than everyone arritude. Im surprised the UPS Store is ok with her representing their name...
I was in TC for work and had forgotten to print off a presentation for an important meeting. I called Michelle at the store after placing an online order and she had it printed off for me when I arrived at the store 15 minutes later. This seems like a great operation and I appreciate the effort they made to help me out!
After my horrible experience in there yesterday, I will never go in there or use UPS again. I will use FedEx and USPS from now on. Lisa, that has worked there for years, is the rudest person I have come in contact with in the customer service industry. If she hates dealing with the public that much, find another job!
Rude, rude, rude! I have been to this location several times over the past 3 years during lunch hour, as more conveniently located near work. I have received consistently poor customer service, no matter the employee. They are rude, curt and just not helpful. I usually leave feeling angry!!!! 14th Steet location has lost my business for good!
Convenient location but service is consistently poor. All staff are cold and seem annoyed that youve walked in looking for service.I usually go elsewhere even if out of my way, but if in a time pinch will visit here due to the vacinity to home and work. Just be prepared and find humor on the comical cold staff.
Called and asked for help tracking a package...the lady who answered forgot to put me on hold so I overheard her conversation with another employee. Then proceed to tell me I need to call the 1800 number and hung up before I could say anything else. Very rude and horrible customer service.

2022-06-17Excellent, efficient and got the job done! Arrived around noon. Was advised and helped to pack my things properly and cut down my boxes to fit better for my items. Make sure to come prepared with your own tape if your boxes are not ready. I did not mind paying the tape charge because I needed the help, but most people assume otherwise. Just remember my catch phrase- Theres no crying in UPS! The two team members who helped me were great!

2022-07-23Tried to ship a package without a shipping label. I printed a document that had a tracking number for a return. The sales rep had no idea how to help me. Was not a pleasant man. Unnecessarily rude in my opinion. Fortunately, I had the correct shipping label electronically. I was told I would have to pay $2.65 to print the invoice at the store. I thought it was a ridiculous amount to pay and said I thought it was an excessive amount. The employee told me I was entitled to my opinion in a very condescending manner. I went home to print the label and dropped it off at another shipping center.

2022-07-20At the end of the day I understand it can be stressful working at a mailing outpost, however, that is absolutely not an excuse for the entirety of the staff to treat customers with the uttermost disrespect I’ve experienced. There is zero professionalism, organization, or management here whatsoever. I will not be going back nor would I recommend this location to anyone.

2020-06-13Employees are friendly and helpful in my experience. For the most part, anyway. Theyre open and seem to be doing a decent job of requesting that people wear masks, and theyve marked where to stand to maintain social distancing.
